      • Aatgreene

Is this a new thing with Harris teeter, because mine accepted them last time we had super doubles? Or is it more of a store on store basis??

        • It is a store by store basis.

Pretty much all general mills printable coupons will always say Do not double on them so just make sure you know what your store will do before printing.

      • Rayflana

Remember though, if the 1st number on the coupon is a “5”, it WILL double or triple. It's the number that dictates that, not the wording.

    • AdrienneGrayson

I'm new at this but am becoming obsessed!

Question is: Where can I find coupons from past circulars that Jenny references? example: (RP 08/15) where do I find the Red Plum coupon from August 15th? Are the coupons archieved and printable or am I just out of luck and need to coupon from here on out.

      • Patagonia

You are outta luck my friend, unless you know someone who has bought the paper from that date and will share with you. The RP and SS are only from the newspaper circulars which you buy and archive yourself.

      • Anne

you can order coupons though from a coupon clipping site like the coupon clippers

      • esynan

Often you can go to the newspaper building and purchase past issues. I work at a newspaper and we keep the past 3 months. That would be a good bit out of pocket for them, but a few of the inserts would e worth going to get.

      • Patinajulie

I live in Washington NC and Sometimes when I am missing an insert I go to the greenville NC paper office and ask for an old paper. Most of the time they sell them to me if they have them . Call your local paper and ask if they sell old papers with the inserts still in them . Good luck

    • Vanessa

Is the General Mills promotion a “limit 1” or can I do more than one if I buy another 20 items in a separate transaction?

      • Limit of one per transaction so repeat again if you like

    • justhe8ofus

On the other list, are the sales carrying over?,such as if sale continues items (like the kool aid fizz and GUM toothbrush, etc.). Thanks!

    • bryanne

i was just on the harris teeter website and it did not say anything about them super doubling this week? anybody know for sure if they are????

      • justhe8ofus

yep. Even received an (e-Vic) email from my Harris Teeter about an hour ago showing Super Doubles.

        • Bryanne

          ok thanks

          • jen

My e-vic email didn't say anything about the Super doubles. Hmmmm.

      • Elizabethmomof3

Yes. I have the flyer in my hand. It starts at 7:00 am

      • Beth

was at HT at 7am….Super Doubles was well in progress!

      • Savingswithsadie

I just returned with a $70 savings and they are definitely super doubling at mine.

    • Mizmeechie

FYI the Pillsbury Grand biscuits should be free with $1 off 2 q if they are BOGO at $2.00 + overage with. 30 discount & catalina.

    • Katie B.

There’s a q for $1/2 LaBrea bakery items at coupons.com, zip 29732. Thanks so much!

    • Sam

The math is off on several of these deals…not even the catalina ones. AND, I'm not complaining AT ALL! Just want to point that out…in case some of you just go by what's on the list. You will pay more on some of these. And then, there are some deals that you should get overage on.

Thank you for ALL that you do for us couponers!!! :)

      • Guest

'Overage' at HT died quite awhile ago. There are only very very very rare circumstances where it actually occurs anymore (when coupons are not coded correctly and sometimes in the case of bogo deals, but not always) so no one should expect overage at their stores – consider it a BONUS not a privilege.

        • Jalonzo

I think that the only time it really happens mostly is with E-vic items. Their system codes the coupon vs. the price on the regular price not the e-vic price. But I agree- overage is nice but not expected. I'm just grateful for stores that double coupons!

      • nancycrom

If you look at the top of the GM promo, she says she takes the .30 off each item (that's $6.00 divided by 20 items) for the final price. Her math is correct.

    • Megan_A

There's a coupon for .35/1 Born Free eggs in the 9/12 RP on page 10 (counting front cover as page 1).

      • Guest

Thanks for the heads-up on the coupon – just a note, though, that coupons are not always in the same order or the same page in different areas. ;)

    • Momsdword1

Thanks again for all you do to post the grocery ad deals. You are the best!!!

    • Jalonzo

Just got back from HT and spent $2.92 out of pocket, got $3 off next meat order and $2 off next purchase !!! Saved $69.78!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Mr_LT

Went to my local HT in Kernersville, NC this morning and wanted to pass on these additional deals/comments: (1) Gain Liquid Dish Detergent for $1.99 (free after using $1 coupon), (2) The Bestlife butter/spray (B1G1) was priced at $2.39…it will be free after using the $1 coupon, (3) Glade candles are 2/$5.00…will be 50 cents each after using a $1 coupon, and (4) Kool Aid Fun Fizz for $1.99 (free after using $1 coupon)

      • Jalonzo

        Thanks! I shop Kernersville too!

    • Pam

Very happy with my first super doubles trip for the week! Spent $15.47 OOP/Saved $73.49 (not including hte $8 in catalinas that I received). Here's what I got:

      4-Totino's party pizzas

      6-Old El Paso tortillas

      6-Green Giant boxed veggies

      3-Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereals

      3-Danimal yogurt smoothies 6-packs

      4-Pillsbury italian bread sticks

      3-Pillsbury sweet moments

      1-YoPlait frozen smoothie

      1-Kraft homestyle macaroni

1-Polly-O-Twist string cheese (not a great deal but my kids love string cheese)

1-Welch's light grape juice (not a great deal on this but I LOVE grape juice)

I had a very nice cashier, all of my coupons doubled (even the ones that said DND), and the GM deal worked perfectly. Great start to super doubles week!

    • tcrawley2

Awesome trip this morning in Fayetteville, NC. Used mine and Mom's card for 2 transactions. Over $200 worth for $4 oop and earned $13.50 in catalinas!!!!! Dear Harris Teeter, you can pay me to take groceries out of your overpriced store any time you'd like. I'll be back to visit with you again tomorrow. Jenny, you need to have a referel incentive program- I've given this web address out so many times I've lost count. Thanks for having such an easy to use site!

      • Susan

You did better than me. I probably saw you there though!

        • tcrawley2

Susan, I was there between 6 and 8. I was wearing a Pampered Chef ball cap and am a very obvious couponer- with my open binder and all. :) Were you there then?

      • Ncsweetspirit

I am in Fayetteville, too, and did not get any catalinas. I thought I should have gotten one for hamburger helper and Pillsbury. I bought 6 rolls of crescents, sweet rolls, etc, and 6 boxes of HH. What catalinas did you get?

        • tcrawley2

I didn’t “get” them yet. The whole catalina system is down in our store. They did give me cash back for the 2 green giant catalinas that should have printed b/c that one is spelled out in their ad. I called the catalina toll free number and they are going to get back to me, but told me that I will be reimbursed one way or another…..this is why I worded it as “earning” catalinas and not getting. CS at the store told me they are hoping that the machines will be working again by Friday. They had someone there most of the day on Wed. – it was a HUGE headache for them I’m sure. I wish I could find a list of running catalina deals from their site- cs told me that if I could find one that wasn’t from a blog, then they would honor those as well- I guess I just need to wait until I get them straight from catalina themselves. I’ve also thought about taking back the items that were supposed to print them (pillsbury and ziploc for me) and just re-purchasing them after the machines are fixed.

    • Guest

I went to Harris Teeter this morning and found the following deals:

Suave body wash on sale for 1.99 with the 1.00 coupon it is FREE!

Trident single gum $.99 (certain favors) with 3 for 1.00 coupon (3 pks for $.99)

      Vasline 10 oz lotion for 3.29 with 1.00 coupon i paid 1.29

      • Ligia

Where did you find the $1 Suave body wash coupon?
        Tks!!

    • JL

FYI all the General Mills printable q's for the promo are DO NOT DOUBLE.

      • Jalonzo

        All of mine did…hmmmm

        • JL

Did they say DND or triple. My HT is super stict and follows the coupon policy. If they did not say DND where did you get them???

          • Guest

If the coupon starts w/ the number '5' in the barcode, the register will automatically double it when scanned. The only way a coupon starting with the number '5' will not double is if the cashier puts it aside and enters it manually. And most of the IP's that say 'dnd' actually start with the number '5' and therefore double automatically b/c most cashiers do not take the time to read every single coupon and take out each one that says 'dnd' to enter it manually.

          • Karen

            all mine doubled yesterday .

    • Bholmes75

      Success Rice – Boil-in-Bag White

      4ct vic price $2 coupon $1 = free

    • Susan

There is a $1 off coupon for Boudreaux's Butt paste. HT is carrying this lip/face balm product from them now that is listed at 2.99, so you get it for 99 cents.

    • Purpledsilver

Total $148.12, paid $26.67. That's 82% savings, pretty darn good in my book!

    • Phyllis

Was at HT bright and early this am, using up my 20 coupon limit…but wanted to share that my store, that has been pulling and not doubling DND5's for MONTHS was very clearly letting everything go through that scans….seemed to be at the direction of the store manager. I was very pleasantly surprised. Spent $8.03, saved $64.20 and got back around $5 in catalina's. Is it tomorrow yet?

      • Chele17rene

Where are u? What store? Mine does the same thing.

    • Guest

Was at my HT here in Charlotte and rang things up at 7:05am. NONE of my $1 and higher coupons were doubling…. Ugh!

Store manager came over and manually doubled my $1q's.

OOP = $9. Reg. Price was $68. Not bad.

    • Amy

How often does HT do super doubles? thanks :)

      • Susan

It's random, around every 2 months lately.

        • Laura

More like once a month. It used to be the last full week of each month, but the last two months has been in the middle of the month.

      • Amy

Great – thanks to both of you for replying.

    • Lauram7

Heads up! My HT has a deal if you buy four boxes Kelloggs you get $3 right off your grocery bill. I had 2, $1 coupons. Got four boxes of designer Special K for $3.16 after taxes.

    • esynan

8/29 SS there is a $1/2 Barilla Piccolini Coupon. Thats $1.50 so if you get two boxes and use the coupon they're 50 cents each.

    • JL

HT in Nashville Bellemeede Plaza has a free cookbook ($20.00 value)when you buy 4 participating philledeiphia creame cheese. I uses my $5.00/5 ang got 5 creamchesse and a free cook book for less than $5.00. I also had a q for $20.00 off $50.00 after q,s so I took advantage of the whole chicken and B1g1 ribeyesale spent $40.00 after taxes but saved $144.00. This inclued 4 big ribeyes, two whole chickens, meatballs and whole bunch of other stuff. P.S Downey is on sall for $3.00 there is a q for $1.50 in the SS from a few weeks ago makes it .99 Yay

      • Marlene

that's brilliant – i saw those books at my HT too but I didn't remember the $5 /5 was valid for Philidelphia cream cheese.

      • Ligia

        Is that cooking book good?

        • JL

I don't think I would pay $20.00 dollars for it but I did use it tonight. I like it and I would say it was worth it.

      • Karen

publix has the cook book too, and cream cheese is 1.25. wal mart has cream cheese .97 so will look today and see if they have the cookbook.

    • $savin'some$

my mom gave me one of her catalinas for 2 off next purchase…can i use it?

      • Marlene

        yes you can use it.

    • Jeff Kristy

Had my best trip ever this morning. OOP $4.13. Saved $62.28. Came home with $8 in catalinas. So THEY PAID ME about $4 for 32 items.

      • Tlwefuqua

Awesome! You had a great shopping trip. I haven't had one that good yet…

    • ACW

I <3 SouthernSavers!! I <3 Super Doubles! I took advantage of the GM promo, spent $33, saved $80, and have a $3 OYNO cat… and my pantry and freezer are looking GOOD. :D

    • patty

Did anyone in New Bern, NC use the Pillsbury Sweet Moments Dessert coupons for 1.50 off and did it double even though it says do not double or triple?

    • Tracie

Does anyone know what the best combo to spend the least amount of money for the General Mills Promo?

      • CCShad

If you buy 9 GG frozen boxed veggies at .99 each, and use three of the .60/3 Q, you get $3 back to spend on next trip, making it a .39 money maker. That is also figuring in .30 off each box from the GM promo. Even a better deal if you were able to get the $1/3 Q. The NV granola chocolate thins are a good deal with the .75/1 Q, as well as the BC cake mixes, brownies and frosting with Qs. I actually bought 12 GG veggies, but still only got $3 towards the next order. Good luck!

        • robin

Are the .60/3 coupons you are using from the internet? If so, I thought HT would only accept 2 internet coupons of an item in one day. I would love to use three. Can you share where you got yours?

          Thanks

          • CCShad

I used 2 from the Internet and 2 from last Sunday's paper. I can't remember which coupon booklet, but it was a page with two other types of GG coupons. My newspaper coupons are from Charleston Post and Courier. Hope that helps.

      • heather

Today I got 9 GG veggies, 2 ready to bake cookie dough, 3 orange sweet rolls, 3 sweet moments, 2 fiber one yogurt and 2 yoplait smoothies for 6.06 OOP and got back 3.00 cat for veggies and 3.00 cat for pillsbury rolls…..thus makin 21 items .06!!! I, obviously, was thrilled with that!!! The $6.00 instant savings came off with no problem and I used mostly all q's from the paper, I think 2 IP. Can't wait to go back tomorrow…..

    • 3greatkids

What are “catalinas”? Also..what does OOP mean.

      • Chele17rene

Catalina also known as Cat's are coupons that print from registers. OOP is money out of pocket.

    • AKA

I had a great trip to HT today too. Total was $104 and spent 30.81. After I got home I noticed that I was over charged $4.48 so I really did even better!!!.. Colgate and Popcorn did not ring up right. This is the second week that I was not charged the correct sale price. I'm in the Charleston area. Anyone else having this problem?

      • CCShad

I shop at the most northern HT in Mt. P and have not had that problem yet. Today, though, they told me that they would not double more than 3 of the same coupon, even if you buy an item for each coupon. I had never heard that before. That said, looking at my receipt, all my Qs super doubled anyway!

        • AKA

I shop in Mt. P too but not that one. I have not had any trouble with the coupons – I did have one item that I had 3 of and three qs for and they did not say anything to me.

          • CCShad

It may have just been my cashier today. This store was out of the Quaker oatmeal, so I may try one of the other 2 stores soon. I usually stick with Publix, but can't pass up HT super doubles!

        • Lori

They are supposed to accept no more than three of the standard coupons (ie, Redplum) or two of the same IP coupons per transaction. I believe that is in their coupon policy.

      • Take your receipt with you when you go back tomorrow. They should refund you the FULL amount, not just the difference. I have had this happen a few times and they have always been very helpful.

      • JL

Yes happened to me twice in the past weeks. ALWAYS check before you leave. Thay will frefund full amount back and you get to keep product.

    • Guest

Does anyone have a good zip for the Kahiki q? Thanks.

      • Nancybgood14

        28429

    • Ctkearns

at the HT in winston salem if you buy 3 hamburger helpers with the .75 off 3 it is 1.50 and you get a 1.50 coupon back !

    • Caitlin

love super doubles !!! OOP -103 should have been 306 !

    • Abtiffany

Has anyone used the lean cuisine coupons on regular boxed frozen dinners?

      • Staciap

I used it yesterday and it worked fine

    • surfer dad

FYI—if you live near a Kangaroo gas station (like us here in Wilmington, NC) they have a ton of $1 off 2 liter 7up/A&W Rootbeer/ Sunkist/Ginger Ale posted on the beverage clear doors. I've gotten about 20 of these 2 liter sodas so far all for free. Not just at Harris Teeter. This makes them free at many grocery chains. There is a sticky coupon book posted on the beverage doors. ENJOY!

      • Bunnagain1263

Thanks! I went to my Kangaroo and she had them behind the counter, and was kind enough to give me a few. I took them to HT and got free drinks.

    • Ashan

Hot Off the Bone BBQ meat is BOGO at $4.99 then we have a $1 off coupon so it was $.50 for a container of meat!

    • emily

ok please help!! i am new to shopin at harris teeter. how does the double coupon to 1.98 work? is that for any item in the store on sale or not? is there a limit to how many i can use? tell the details please!!

      • Kate

During Super Doubles (SD’s), Harris Teeter (HT) will double any coupon (Q) w/ face value of up to $1.98. So, if you have a $1.50 off Q, HT will double it to $3.00. You have to have a VIC card and they will double a maximum of 20 Q’s per day. Here is a link to their Q policy: http://www.harristeeter.com/promotions/online_coupons/coupon_policy.aspx

      • Jhflora654

It's for any item in the store. HT allows 20 coupons a day to double, enforced by your VIC card. You can go every day though and use 20 coupons. One thing to watch out for though is if you have a 75 cents coupon, that counts in your 20 coupons too, even though that would always double. Just make sure you have no more than 20 coupons to double total and you'll be fine.

      • Nita Royal

and note that their BOGOs actually ring up at half price, so you can use a coupon for each!

        • JL

My HT will only allow 1 coupon for B1G1 (yes they ring up half price) and they follow all guidelines in policy.

          • Deajae

Sometimes HT will take one coupon for each, and sometimes only one coupon for the set of B1G1. The best way to be sure you are getting the best deal is to only buy ONE. It will, like mentioned, ring up half price and you can use one coupon. If you need more than one of the item, just get it when you go the next time! (You know you will be back again before the end of Super Double week!)

      • Andrea

You can use 20 $1 + coupons/day on anything in the store. The best deals are on items that are already on sale. For example, Yoplait frozen smoothies are 2 for $5 which means they ring up $2.50 each. If you have the coupon for $1 off one Yoplait smoothie the coupon doubles to $2 so you pay 50 cents for the item.

    • Ms Lallie

At HT in Norfolk, Va. My total of $56.59 down to $14.39. I got 2 Downy Softner $3.99 I paid $.99 each, FREE yogurt!! 2 Colgate toothpaste $.50 each, 4 tubs of Best life butter $.17 each and Daytime and Night time Nyquil $2.09 each. Too bad I reached my 20 coupon limit. I will be back out at HT again tomorrow. I hadn't even gotten to the frozen foods and chips & snack aisle before I reached my coupon limit.

    • Raynesmw

Well, I have learned a new “policy” tonight from some very not so friendly HT clerks. Apparently, they do not accept “bogo free” or any coupon that indicates a “free item” printed from the Internet. I had the Buy a pack of cookies and milk and get a pack of cookies free. The cashier calls over the clerk and she says really mean to the cashier-you know we don't accept those! I felt sorry for her. Then, she shoves a policy into my hands, which by the way it is not even mentioned on there this “policy”. If you explain something nicely to me, I understand better, just like the BOGO and you have to buy the third item deal. But, when you are mean to me and even to your own coworker, that doesn't go over well. I am disappointed in ht.

      • Pdudeck

Yep! The cashier was nicer about it, but they do not accept FREE or BOGO from the internet. Sometimes my HT gives me a bad time when the coupon is from the paper and not the internet. But they do seem to be doubling coupons that say do not doubling this week, which is a switch from my past visits.

    • Jennymac21

Spent 31.00, saved $92 on 53 items. Got $8 in coupons back :)

    • Amy

I had a question..I am pretty big into recycling. I rarely use plastic baggies (I use containers) and I reuse grocery bags for my garbage. Anyway, some weeks, I like to get 3 or 4 papers, but I hate the fact that I am wasting all that newspaper. Is there anyway to just pay for the paper, but only get the coupons?

      • Lori

You can purchase individual coupons from places like couponclippers. You can purchase entire inserts from coupondede.

      • Raynesmw

I work at a school, and I take mine into the recycle bins. I hate to waste it too, but at least I am recycling it. Maybe there is a school near you that recycles items. Our school recycles everything we can!

      • Mlsshartz

We shred ours when we are done and put it in our compost.

      • Jalonzo

Not that I know of, but I use my newspapers in several ways around the house: The newsprint is used to wash windows and mirrors- it does an amazing job!

      • amy guberman

        thanks to all who replied!

      • Sjhn0532

I take all mine to the animal shelters.

      • elizabeth miller

the local humane society or animal shelters are usually desperate for newspapers or anything else you might want to donate!!! where i live, the animal control told me they are picking up 60 animals a day. such a waste!

    • Shannon

In Harris Teeters Express Lane, Phillips Crab Cakes are coming up 1.00 with vic card!! regularly 7.99. there is a 2 dollar coupon on there website. I'm wondering if this is for real or a typo…

      • Cjsmom1990

wow! I dont know where you are but for the HT in Charleston it shows $1.00 price. I will definitely head out at lunch to verify. Were you able to get the coupon to print. I have made many attempts but alas, nothing. But for $1.00, I wont complain. LOL

        • Shannon

          in Charlotte

          • Cjsmom1990

It was too good to be true Shannon. The price in the store reads $1.00 off for VIC shoppers. oh well, still loving the super doubles!!

            • Shannon

I just came back…it is a 1.00 they had to adjust my 2$ off coupon…it wasn't even marked on the shelf at my HT…so i just took a chance..it paid off

    • Nita Royal

I think this site must be getting TOO good! By the time I got to HT after work, a lot of the shelves had been cleared out….and almost everyone in the store had their binders, and a list from this site, LOL. At least I didn't feel conspicuous for once!

    • Lori

I just had an awesome HT trip! I spent ONE PENNY OOP for $83.23 worth of groceries. The $6 off 20 deal worked perfectly! Plus I received $5 in OYNO catalinas. Purchased 1 Resolve carpet cleaner, 6 pillsbury biscuits (the Grands are free after doubling in my store!), 4 corn muffin mixes, 5 boxes potatoes (bought an extra one by mistake, my 2-year-old was “helping”), 2 boxes Panko bread crumbs, 2 yoplait smoothies, 6 boxes frozen veggies, 3 danimals, 1 yo plus, 1 fiber one yogurt, 2 boxes tornados, and some bananas.

I mean, seriously, I double-checked the math and prices on the receipt, it really came out to ONE PENNY without them having to adjust any coupons, or me having to purchase a filler!

      • Bholmes75

OH good the panko must have worked for the General mills promo I was wondering if it would

Do you live in Charlotte? The shelves were bare of most of those items when I visited my HT today. No surprise I guess. But I prefer to shop on Thursday when I get my senior discount. But it just doesn't work when there are super doubles or triples; shelves are bare.

        • Susan

The shelves were almost bare on the good deals at my HT at 9am on Wednesday. I feel your pain.

    • Michelle

This was my first super doubles – We paid $34 for $112 worth of groceries! Needless to say I am hooked, although my HT will not double the ones that say DND. Still an incredible savings, this does not include the catalinas either!

    • Robin

Does anyone know the deal with the Frozen Yoplait Yogurt Smoothies? They're on the weekly add list under the General Mills Promotion with a Reg price of 2.50. They are also listed on the “Super Doubles” list as being 3.75 and not a part of the General Mills Promo. I live in the Nashville area. Can anyone help clear this up. I will have to reconfig. my shopping strategy if not included in the promo.

      Thanks for your help :0)

      • Jalonzo

The super doubles list is the list created BEFORE the sales came out. It is designed to give us a headstart on collecting coupons that will make good deals before we know what is on sale too. In my area- they are $2.50 with a $1 off coupon that doubles. Be careful though, there is a blinkie in some stores with a $1 coupon that WILL NOT double (starts with a 9).

It IS included in the promo

        • Cubsrock7

we have noticed that blinkies in stores that double-HT, lowes will start with a 9 but the blinkies in FL start with a 5

          • Jalonzo

HMM very interesting! I might have to stop by a FL to check them out- thanks for the heads up!

    • Tricia

The family size Stouffer’s entrees (lasagnas, etc) are on sale at the Raleigh HT’s for $4.99- with the $1.00 off from here: http://www.nestlefamily.com/Coupons/ExclusiveOffers/Default.aspx?sc=10086891&utm_source=NF_Jun10&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=June10 makes them $3.00 each with coupon!

    • Mary Ellen

I got 4 boxes of Special K ceral for 3.00 . I used 2 1.00/2 coupons and there is a promotion that gives back 3.00 automatically ( not off next order) and they are on sale for 2/5.00 this week. I ended up with 110.00 worth of groceries for oop 30 and change and have a 2.00 coupon for my next order and also a 6.99 rebate. I was psyched. What a blast. Took a while in the store but I got had a ball.

      • Bholmes75

I”m going to try this. If it doesn't work for me might come after you. lol

    • Yoopergirl

I've printed some internet coupons that say “Do not double or triple” on top. Does anyone know if HT will double these anyway? I'm in the Mt Pleasant, SC area.

      • Saeweardsmith

I actually called the HT(at six mile) and they told me NO….so I have never tried to use them but after reading other comments…you may want to try. You could always cut out a lesser Q that does not say that for backup! Worth a try…everyone on here says that if it starts with a 5…it should double but they can stop that with a manual override!!

Anyone have luck with cashiers doubling DND coupons at the Tryon Village store in Cary, NC?

      • Love2Save

        Yes! All mine doubled!

      • Love2Save

I actually had one at a different Raleigh store that didn't double, though. It was a blinkie for $0.55 off the Pure Almond milk. I'm wondering if all the blinkies don't double….

        • Bholmes75

the blinkies do not double most of the start with a 9. I have seen very few of them start with a 5

          • Guest

Blinkies that come out of the machines at HT will pretty much always start with a '9' and therefore will not double. However, if you have a Food Lion nearby, they likely have the exact same blinkie coupons and normally the ones from Food Lion's machines will start with a '5' and will double when used at HT. I've even had HT cashiers remind me to go blinkie-hunting at FL so the coupons will double. LOL

    • Love2Save

Does anyone know if the 20 GM items have to be purchased all in one transaction? I wasn't aware of this deal when I went yesterday, and I'd say I probably bought 10-15 GM items. Oh well for missing out on that one!

      • Phyllis

They have to all be purchased in one transaction..

      • Kim Thmsn

The GM prodcuts have to be purchased all at one time, it is not cummulative over all of your purchases. Also, I talked to a mgr. this morning at one of our local HT's and she said that doubling the online coupons that say DND is up to the manager of each individual store…..I can say that here (South Charlotte) that is soooo true….some will double them and some will not.

    • Clowrance5

did not see this on the shopping list but found it in the store. if you still have a coupon for $1.00 for gain dish detergent, in shelby, nc, a 30 oz. bottle is still on sale for $1.99 and they super doubled my coupon. i had 3 coupons and paid only 23 cents for all 3 bottles!

      • Bholmes75

awesome I got them a few weeks ago with they were onsale for $.99

        • Guest

That's the small size – the one that's on sale for $1.99 right now is HUGE.

    • Saeweardsmith

Can some one tell me…on the GM deal…when it says buy 4 get $1 on next order, etc….can you mix the items…for instance..lets say I want 2 sweet rolls, 2 crescent rolls, 2 refridge cookies…can I do that? Or does it have to be 4 items from that particular line listed above?..like, the sweet rolls & crescent rolls are listed together and the cookies are separate.

      • Bholmes75

yes you can combine the pillsbury cantalina. I did 2 cres 2 sweet rolls and 2 cookies people are also reporting that the sweet moments is also working for that catalina

        • Saeweardsmith

Thanks!!! Just trying to have everything in line!!!

    • Saeweardsmith

Another thing, (I am a publix shopper) can I take a BOGO free Q and still use a Q on the Item that is not for free? You can at Publix…I just want to make sure…HT is very picky!

      • JL

You can not use BOGO at Harris Tetter

        • Jalonzo

You CAN use a BOGO coupon at HT- just NOT a printable one. If it is one that came in the SS or RP you can use it. BUT you probably won't be allowed to use a BOGO coupon AND a Q on the same 2 products. Can't hurt to try though.

          • Saeweardsmith

OK, SO NO internet BOGO! Got it! I will save them Publix!

    • JL

I need some Help. After reading the comments apparntly a lot of HT dbl q's tat say DND. Mine however took one out that had it in fine print (I did not even see it) but it was listed on the list(a few months ago) so I have not tried scince. What is deal?? Do I need to speak to HT manager and find out or just accept that I live in an area that follows the HT policy? I just wonder if they keep doubling DND q's is that goiung to mean less super dbls in the future. Although this is the 3rd or 4th super dbls and 1 triple scine I started in late April.

      • JG

As long as the Q starts with a 5 the register will double it. However if it starts with a 9 it will not. Most q's say do not double, but most stores double them anyway as long as it starts with 5

        • Bholmes75

the cashiers are acutally taking a closer look at the dnd they put them aside and manually enter them in they are refusing to double them. I understand what you are saying that if they start with the 5 they should still double but they are not refusing to do so.

          • JL

If they say DND but start with a 5 why should they dbl. It claerly says DND or triple at the top of the GM q's so they should not DBL. What I am asking how are you guys getting HT stores to DBL them when it is clearly against thier corp coupon policy?

            • Phyllis

Some posters have indicated that it is up to the store managers to decide whether or not to accept DND5's. I don't think anyone is “doing” anything to get a certain store to scan the coupons (thereby doubling). Sometimes cashier's are busy and don't look to closely, other times they seem to read every word. I don't see it being handled consistently, even within the 1 store I go to. I mentioned earlier though, that yesterday morning when super doubles began, my HT (Suffolk, VA) was scanning everything….. I just make sure to not buy anything with a DND5 coupon that I wouldn't still want if the coupon wasn't doubling.

            • Guest

HT's registers are programmed to multiply coupons that start with a '5' but to NOT multiply coupons that start with a '9'. No one knows why they chose to program their registers that way and no one knows why manufacturer's even bother to put 'do not double' writing on some coupons. The manufacturer only reimburses the *face value* (plus $0.08 handling/processing fee) for each coupon, regardless of whether the coupon was doubled, tripled, etc. If a store chooses to double/triple coupons, the doubled/tripled value is basically taken as a loss by the store and written off as a marketting expense. Doubling/tripling has absolutely nothing to do with the manufacturers so who knows why they even bother to write it on the coupon? Basically, if the store wants to just scan a coupon and let it double if the register doubles it, there's nothing wrong with that. Many many many stores will just go ahead and scan your coupons (so long as they are for appropriate items) and don't bother to do anything manually unless the coupon does not go through automatically. It takes a lot of extra time for cashiers to individually inspect every single coupon and then manually enter coupons that say 'do not double' (if it starts with a '5', they have to enter it manually if they don't want to allow it to double), so many stores may find it more efficient (especially during high-traffic coupon promotions) to just scan the coupons and let the registers do what the coupon's barcode is telling it to do. And well, I'm not going to argue with them if they want to let my coupons double even if they happen to have some arbitrary 'do not double' writing on them.

      • Ipreferpublix

Yes, there are stores that follow the RULES to the letter. Here in Nashville, all of the stores play coupon-nazi and scrutinize every single coupon. They even found one that had the “dnd” in teensy print that I even overlooked, and I tried to check them all! Awesome deals for those that have easy stores, but not here.

        • I got a great cashier today that didn't check my coupons. I was afraid he would, b/c he was a manager, but he pushed all of them right on through. I was going to be so upset if he didn't, b/c most of them were the pillsbury ones that made that deal an awesome deal. I had a great trip at the HT off of Hwy 100. I have been there before when they pulled all of my DNDs out over off of White Bridge in Nashville. I hate it when that happens! so sorry you had bad luck with your cashier.

          • Zooleekie

Hi Erin~ WHy were you afraid that the cashier was going to check your coupons? DId you have ones in the pile that didn't match up the right way?

      • Bholmes75

They are being party poopers I don't think there's much you can do other than if you feel that strongly about it return it.

    • Marlene

The Old El Paso Seasoning packets are 50cents in Charlotte area after B1G1 – bought 6 for $3 and got $3 catalina for next purchase.

      • Bholmea75

that's seems too good to be true doesn't it. but no its works. I may do it again and maybe donate the seasonings to a local food bank or something

      • Brownebaby

Can you explain how this worked. The seasonings werent listed in the flier and you didnt get 20 items. (im just asking because i want to try it too :)

    • Santee97

For the Gm promotion, are the only items that are included in the promotion the ones listed above? Does anyone know where there is more info about this promotion?

      • Guest

Your best bet is to pick up the ad on the way into the store. There is an entire page dedicated to this deal which shows the participating products. I believe it's pretty much exactly what's listed here, but I'm a visual person and appreciate having the pictures to go by.

        • Jalonzo

At the bottom of the ad it lists each brand and what products qualify.

    • mightymousemom

      Here is a freebie:

The EAS Protein Bars are on sale for $1.99 and there was a $1.00 off any EAS Product in the 9/12/2010 SS Insert. So free after the coupon doubles.

    • CJ

At the HT in Brentwood, TN I saw that Newman's Thin & Crispy pizzas are also on sale for $5 and there is a $1 printable coupon….makes them $3 this week!

    • I have never been so excited to leave HT in my whole life! I got the most awesome deal EVER. The meat dept was out of the whole chickens and the nicest meat mananger came up to me as I was bending down to look to see if more were in there. Out of his mouth came, “Just pick as many of whatever type of chicken you would like, and I'll give it to you at that price!” Believe me, he almost had to pick me up off the floor! I left with two bags of skinless boneless breasts for .59 a lb. OMG! I love my Harris Teeter off of Hwy 100 in the Bellevue area And the meat manager as well. :) THanks Jenny for all you do.

    • Noleinfla

I have never shopped at HT, but I am excited to try it this week! Does anyone know if a coupon is doubled and it is more than the purchase price, do you get the overage on your total? Just curious, thanks!

      • Abrown3

I think it depends on your store's policies. Some stores allow it, some don't.

    • heather

No overage, amount will adjust down to 0! Have fun :)

    • heather

No overage, amount will adjust down to 0! Have fun:)

    • Michelletraxler

can you use a catalina coupon and manufacturers coupon on one item? Thanks :))

      • Guest

        yep

    • Guest

If the catalina coupon is specifically for that item, then it is likely that it is a manufacturer's coupon and therefore cannot be 'stacked' along with another manufacturer's coupon. *Most* catalina coupons from HT are in fact manufacturer's coupons themselves (they generally start w/ a number '9' in the barcode, and any coupon that starts w/ a number '9' or '5' is a manufacturer's coupon).

The exception would be if your catalina coupon is just for $$ off your next order and not for a specific item. If it's something like 'save $3 off your next order', then yes you should be able to use that coupon in conjunction with a coupon for the specific item you're purchasing. But if, for example, you are purchasing 'Brand ABC Yogurt' and your catalina coupon and other coupon both state that they are for 'Brand ABC Yogurt', then no you can't stack them together.

    • Guest

In most cases, HT's registers are smart enough to adjust the value of the multiplied coupon so that it only covers the actual cost of the item. A long time ago (over a year) it was possible to get overage if the item was on sale and if your coupon value would multiple over the sale price of the item (coupons used to multiply up to the regular price of the item regardless of the sale price, so when on sale it was possible to get overage applied toward your other items). However HT got smart and updated the programming in the register software to recognize the sale price as the upper limit of the coupon value.

It *is* possible to get overage in some very very specific circumstances. Certain coupons are coded in such a way that they do not actually 'attach' to the specific item that you are using them for – so the register does not compare the price of the item to the multiplying value of the coupon. And if a coupon does not work correctly and has to be entered manually, it will double fully regardless of the price of the item, making overage possible if the math works out right. Also, when you're purchasing items that are on sale BOGO, if you use a coupon that will multiply over the price of 1 item, it will 'roll' to help pay for the second one. Example: The Yoplait YoPlus Yogurt is normally $2.85 but is on sale BOGO meaning 1 will cost you $1.42. If you use the $1.00/1 printable coupon, looking at the sale price of 1 yogurt you'd think it would only multiply to be worth $1.42 (making 1 item free), however if you purchase 2 of them (total $2.85) and use the $1.00/1 printable coupon, it will multiply to take $2.00 off since the price of 1 YoPlus is normally over $2.00. This logic only works in BOGO sale situations.

Every now and then, someone will get overage and not know exactly why it happened. Sometimes the register does strange things that are hard to explain. Basically, sometimes overage happens but it cannot be expected b/c there are really not very many situations in which it's going to happen any more.

    • Mary Ellen

I just did it again , It keeps working. So much fun. today got 118.00 for 30.00 wow, I am having a ball,.

    • Amanda

I have never had a problem with the DND's at the HT on 21st Ave. They always scan right through the coupons. :)

    • Mlsshartz

Went to HT on Hwy 41 today….all doubled.

    • Dbisho13

The 1.50 coupon for the sweet moments doubled at H.T. yesterday. So thrilled. Had a great trip one of my best. Also for those in the Charleston area they had silly bandz, the disney ones at the H.T. downtown for 1,50 a pack which is great for those specail ones. I love finding those little extras, esp when all said and done I probably only paid for the silly bandz when i finished up. Got all groceries and about 10 packs of silly bandz for 50.00 and got back 9.00 in coupons. Happy Happy Happy!!!!!

So far this week, I have gotten $121 worth of stuff for $13. Love it! Lots of yogurt and soup. Stock up on the soup for Fall/Winter

    • Michelletraxler

      thanks

    • Sjhn0532

I did this yesterday but it did not give me the $3 off.

    • Sandibphoto

I just left my HT. Got 4 tubs of the Best Life Marg. They are on sale here (Burlington, NC) B1G1 at $2.39. Tried to use (4) $1 coupons for them and they said that since I was only PAYING for 2 items, I could only use 2 coupons. I argued with the clerk then the manager about this. I said that I was purchasing 4 tubs and could use 4 coupons. I'm right, right? They screwed me out of $4!! I got them anyway because it's still a good deal, but it's supposed to be a money maker!

      • Mishter77

Nope, you can only use 1 coupon on a B1G1 sale. It’s their policy. http://www.harristeeter.com/promotions/online_coupons/coupon_policy.aspx

      • Pedsrn06

You can only use one coupon on a B1G1 sale…its in their policy.

      • Tfrost99

your attitude is a little over the top and gives couponers a bad name. I'm all about having the stores stick to their coupon policy, but you sound like an angry person. Coupon takes patience and kindness. Don't make it harder on the rest of us and give couponers a bad rep.

      • HT Fan

        jerk!

    • JL

You can only use 1 q for each B1G1 at HT. It is thier policy. HT also does not give money back they reduce the q down so you can get it free but no money back. But think on the bright side you got 4 tubs of butter for ..80 cents. Not bad. Next time just buy one of the B1G1 and just go back fot the second one.

    • JL

Sorry I responded to you on above comment. Forgot to hit reply.

    • Atomic_Ball

Where are people finding the cookbook that you get free if you buy 5 kraft items?

    • Phyllis

Does anyone know if you can do the Green Giant catalina more than one time? (Not in a single transaction and not “rolling” the 1st catalina) Even though I used all my GG coupons on Wed, I'd like to go back and get 6 more veggies IF I can get another catalina. Thanks

      • 1penguinonfire

Yes! I used the $2 i got yesterday (from GG cat) and bought 8 today and got $3

    • Tara

I shop at HT in Mt. P (Long Point Road location) and also HT on Savannah Hwy. I have not had any trouble with doubling internet coupons. You should be fine. In fact, I am headed your way for trip #2 this week. :-)

    • Lancypooh

Awesome trip. About $108 worth of groceries for $15!!!!
      Yay for HT!

    • Bholmes75

yes you can do the transaction more than once. so far I've done it 3 times this week. Tomorrow will be my last gg visit ran out of coupons :)

    • Bholmes75

had the same thing happen to me unfortunately I 've been trying to go back for more but they are totally out.

    • Bholmes75

Harris teeter will not take an internet b1g1

    • Phyllis

Will is work if you use the catalina you received on your 1st purchase?

    • TheChapleigh

I know that last week, or maybe it was earlier this week, I ended up getting that catalina from Lowe's foods… it was a great surprise as I didn't even know about it yet! And, I ended up getting it again today at HT. HTH

    • TheChapleigh

Sorry, this reply was about the GG catalina, not sure why It posted up here at the top….

      • esynan

In the future, you can click “Reply” beneath the post you want to reply to, and it will show up with that post.

    • TheChapleigh

I'm hoping this replies in the right spot, to “Guest” and “SAntee 97” about the GM promotion. Today I had to have CS manually re-ring me through, as I had inadvertantly gotten Old El Paso refried beans, when apparently it's only for certain meal kits or tacos I think… so then I went back to get the right Old El Paso tacos, then it didn't ring up to produce the $6.oo discount, then CS said it was likely that the Whole grain Hamburger Helper was not included in the promotion…. she didn't want to re-ring me a third time, but wanted me to instead accept that the catalina's that printed for the $3.oo's off GG veggies and Old Elpaso stuff was the reasoning behind me not getting the $6.oo discount at the register. I said that it was advertised to ALSO produce the $3.oo catalinas if I had bought those certain items WITHIN the promotion… bottom line is this, I would really only stick to what is pictured and take nothing foregranted, because that's a whole lot of re-ringing ;) In the end, she did manually enter in the $6.oo discount, and my other $3.oo catalina's printed off again — maybe that's what she wanted me to do, take the extra catalina's & be happy with that??…. but my brain doesn't work that well when under pressure at the cash register, kids in tow… can anyone sympathize??? Stick with what's pictured ;)

      • Jalonzo

at the bottom of the ad it specifies EXACTLY what products are included- in fact my HT doesn't even carry the El Paso product pictured- but on the bottom it listed additonal ones that did qualify.

    • Sigaduro

Had a great experience at HT today! Got $128 worth of stuff for only 37, and got 4.50 back in coupons off my next visit. It didn't automatically subtract my $6 off for the GM buy 20 products so i took it to the Customer Service Desk and without even questioning me, they refunded me $6.12 from the cash register and said, “Have a nice day”.

    • Lisacake610

$133 worth of groceries for $11 + $4 in Catalinas fro tomorrow's trip! Love your blog…..THANK YOU!!! You make shopping so much easier, especially with 2 energetic little boys.

      • Courtney

What exactly did you get for $11? I want to save $133 and only pay $11 too!!

    • Jhwhitley77

Yes you can. I've been stocking up, nows the time to do it! ;)

    • Jhwhitley77

My HT had a large stand alone cardboard display with them right in front of the Philadelphia Cream Cheese.

Just a FYI, today at the Burlington, NC Harris Teeter they would not let me use a manufacturer's coupon because it had a foodlion logo on the bottom. Even though it said to mail coupon to Conagra Foods for reimbursement :( So if you have any of the coupons with the FL logo cut the logo off before you go. ;)

    • Donna

Just a note – my HT (Folly Road, Charleston/James Island) told me that the Green Giant veggies are NOT part of the General Mills promotion (even though on their ad, the veggies are right in the middle of the page with all the bonuses you'll get back for them – she said only those bonuses apply and they do NOT count towards the 20 items for the GM $6 instant savings). I think she was wrong, but I wasn't going to argue since she was nice enough about offering to give me a different Cheerios than the sale one since they were out of the ones I had the coupons for.

They were out of SO much though, that it blew my whole 20 deal and I just picked up a few other things I had coupons for. She told me the truck is coming back tonight to restock the store and I should go back EARLY tomorrow to get what I need – very nice lady! And after seeing those empty shelves, I'll be there the minute they open! :)

      I got:
6 Hamburger Helpers (had 2 $1 off coupons)
6 boxes Green Giant Veggies (had 2 $0.60 coupons)
1 YoPlus Yogurt 4-pack (had 1 $1 off coupon – made this FREE)
1 Fiber One Yogurt 4-pack (had 1 $1 off coupon – made this FREE)
for $5.54 (80.56% savings over retail)

      Bonus printouts:
$3 off hamburger, chicken or tuna from GM – bonus from the Hamburger Helpers
$2 off next shopping order (any items) – bonus from the Green Giant veggies
Catalina coupon ($1 off 2 Birds Eye Steamfresh veggies

Overall, I'm so BEYOND thrilled since this is literally my 2nd couponing trip, thanks all to this site! :) I'm sure I'll get better as I gather more coupons and get a system going too. I love Southern Savers!

      • Jalonzo

She was wrong- they do qualify- look at the VERY bottom of the page of their ad with the GM deal- it lists all qualifying products- Green Giants do count BUT it says PLAIN veggies- so I have kept to those (none of the ones that come with sauces). I've done it 4 times this week and used 6 of the GG veggies each trip to meet my 20.

    • Nita Royal

Is the $6 off promo limited to one time? I scanned below, but didn't see it mentioned.

      Thanks!

      • Donna

From what I've read here, you can do the General Mills deal more than once, but only once per shopping trip, of course!

        • Jalonzo

I have done the GM deal every day of this week since Wed with no problems- same VIC card and everything. You can also “roll” the Green Giant catalina deal onto the next one and still get a Catalina.

    • Jwhitleymarshall

garnier fructis shampoo is $2/5….there is a $1 off coupon for the shampoo and styling products…makes it $.50 each

    • Nita Royal

Free Ideal Sweetener – It was a random find, as I went in with no plan. 50 packet boxes of “Ideal” Sweetener (reg $2.49) are on BOGO. I had 3 BOGO coupons, so got 6 boxes free! Sorry, but I have no idea where the q's were from.

      • Carrie_C

At my store, there were $1 off blinkies in front of them – the coupons were coded with a 9 so they wouldn't double but for 25 cents, it was worth a try to me!

    • Meredith

Anybody know how to get proof on the pillsbury and hamburger helper catalina deals? I bought 3 hamburger/chicken helper and 6 pillsbury 'rolls' and did not get the money off next order coupons. I also bought 9 green giant veggies and that one did not print out either, but since that one is included in the HT ad, they gave me the $3 off another order. The manager said if I could find the ad on the others and bring it in with my receipt they would give me the $. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

      • eb

I had the same thing happen to me due to a paper jam in the catalina machine. I just called the catalina company and gave them the info off the receipt and they verified it and are mailing me my coupons.

Here is some great info about catalinas not printing that I copied from some website – sorry to whomever posted it on that site because I just copied and pasted it into a document to save for my reference and I can’t find the original source to give them credit here:

“In my experience, the store is not helpful in regards to correcting the situation of catalinas not printing. It’s not uncommon for store employees to not even be aware of catalina offers in effect! Remember, the machine is actually operated by a separate company, Catalina Marketing. I suggesting working with them to resolve the issue. Here are two ways to approach it:
        1. Call Catalina Marketing (877) 210-1917, option 1. The entire process normally takes about 5 minutes and every Customer Service Representative I’ve spoken with has been friendly and helpful.
        2. Email Catalina Marketing at coupon@catalinamarketing.com.Requests will be resolved within 2-3 days.
In both instances, they will need several pieces of information that can all be found on your receipt. They will need:
        • The store name and address where you shopped.
        • The date and time you checked out.
        • The number printed on your receipt after the time stamp.
        • The items you purchased and what catalina you were expecting.
        • Your name and address.
Once they have verified that you should have received the catalina, they will simply mail out your catalina coupon!

    • Imar0ckstar

Buy the frozen boxed green giants that are on sale. 3 or more will get you a catalina deal.

    • Imar0ckstar

Major tip!! Yesterday I got a $10 off your $50 order coupon from Martins. HT honored it as a competitor coupon. Major savings!

    • Sonshinejr

Betty Crocker Catalina: It looks like the box has to say “Betty Crocker” on it and not just be products that are made by the same company. I purchased Betty Crocker Items, but 3 of them were 2 boxes of cheerios and 1 El Paso taco; therefore, I ended up not getting the Catalina for $6 off. Make sure you buy only Betty Crocker items that say it on the box. Or you will end up frustrated like me!

      • Jalonzo

I think that there is some confusion- the $6 off is if you buy 20 General Mills items (there are specific ones though). It doesn't have to say Betty Crocker. For example- 20 boxes of the Green Giant would qualify & they don't say Betty Crocker. Are you sure you had 20 items and they were the right sizes? Only certain ones qualify.

        • Sonshinejr

Yes, totally sure! Counted 3 times and counted when I got home. I bought 20 of the items from Jenny's betty crocker list. I am taking the receipt back up there today. Let's hope the customer service is nice. :)

      • RH

It is not a $6 Catalina – It is a $6 instant savings. There should be a $6 instant savings on your reciept – prints in bold in the middle of your coupon listing… And as Jalonzo pointed out, there are a number of items that are not Betty Crocker that work (and not all Betty Crocker qualify).. It has to be only the specific items in the ad. sounds like you checked all that and you probably have resolved with the store hopefully!

    • TheodoresMom

Since it's super doubles… the Kahki egg rolls are 37 cents not $1.37.

    • Shannonw1983

i had coupons with food lion logo on them but said manu q's , they check ed with the manager and said they would take it has long as it the computer scanned it. maybe you can try that.

    • Scissorhands

The DND is actually for the store, not the consumer. It's a legal way to inform the store that though they may choose to double or triple a coupon, the manufacturer will only reimburse them the face value of the coupon. So it's all good. :)

      • Marlene

try telling that to my HT …. sigh.

    • Phyllis

This is for anyone that is not getting catalina's they anticipated. You can call catalina marketing directly at 1-888-8coupon (1-888-826-8766). They will ask for information from your receipt and after verifying your purchases, they will send you the cats directly. takes several weeks, but if HT was supposed to be offering, they will get it to you. I have done this previously with the Kellogs $10 OYNO cat….and need to again as my store had issues with the Green Giant cats not printing the last few days.

    • Saeweardsmith

      My trip!!!

      OOP$83.12….SAVED…$217.35!!!!

      Yeah!!!

I could have saved a little more but I didnt bring any Q's that said DND…but I talked to the store and they said they double anyway! I will know for next time!!! Still…will not complain!!!

    • Srenae

Had a great trip tonight.. I got 6 pizza's, 3 soups, 1 dawn hand renew, 1 wheat thin crackers, 2-4 packs dannon, 2 trident gum, 3 best life butter, 3 garnier hair products, 1 febreeze air freshener, all for $4.12 OPP and saved $49.32

    • EB

There are two scenarios that make you money towards buying meat

      — Old El Paso Money Maker —
2 old el paso taco shells for $2.50
4 old el paso seasonings for $2
This will trigger the $3 ONO (must buy beef or chicken) Catalina
If you have 2 of the $1/3 Better at Home Booklet coupons (found sitting in a display in my local store), it becomes a $2.50 money maker
Plus the taco shells (not the seasoning) counts towards your 20 items for the GM deal

      ——-MM deal 2 ———
Buy 6 Hamburger Helper for $6
Use 2 of the $1/3 coupons to make the cost $2
This triggers a $3 ONO Catalina (must buy hamburger, chicken, or tuna)
This can become an even better deal if you count the items towards the 20 for the GM promo
      —————-
      A Great combined Scenario
      — combine the 6 HH and 2 taco shells with 8 GG veggies (triggers a $3 ONO catalina) and 4 included Pillsbury items (which will trigger a $1 ONO ), you have your 20 items for the extra $6 off from GM as well as $10 in catalina coupons for your next trip ($6 of which you have to use on meat) – Effectively making all this cost close to nothing!
(if you have good coupons, add 2 more pillsbury items and get $2 more in your catalina)

    • Nancybgood14

did not notice any comments on the kraft buy 3 get 3 off your next visit. I did combind it with the 5 items for 5 off. Was it not a good deal? is this why it is not mentioned. Came to 8 off in total. Just wondering.

      • Ligia

What did you buy to get the $3 off next visit?

        • RH

I just did the 3 cheese deal this morning and it is actually $3 off instantly, not next visit. There were tags in store on all the products. I bought 2 Cracker Barrell chunk cheese (on sale $3 each) and one Polly -O String Cheese. I had $1/1 Q for the String Chees and $1/2 for the Cracker Barrel. With the two double coupons, I ended up getting $7 off the 3 packages – on cheese that I will definitely use. note – The Polly O String cheese is hard to find in stores this week though because of the $1/1 coupon out there – the stocker went and found for me in the back this morning.

          • LWood311

I got 5 bags of Kraft Shredded Cheese for $0.45!! The manager said it is perfectly all right to use the $5/5 and $1q's. He explained to me that the $5/5 is similar to CVS's ecb's and thats its considered money off the total order. So 5 bags at $3.29ea…(3)$1q's dbled ($6)…(2)$1q's not dbled ($2)…$3 off instantly & finally the $5/5. Sooo…$16.45 – $6 – $2 – $3 – $5 = $0.45! Ooh, and throw in the 5% student discount!

      • Marlene

I don't know if it was in their ad but i saw it marked on the price tags. i think the shredded cheese worked out to $1.40/bag and $1.70 for the blocks. those are pretty good prices but i chose to use the $5/5 coupon on the Philly cheese to get the free recipe book with purchase of 4. (worked out to 89cents each)

    • Cruxius

I ran into a problem at my last HT trip. Normally the register happily doubles most coupons, even if they say “do not double or triple.” This one decided to play sheriff, read each and every coupon, and manually cancelled out the doubling of all the coupons that should not have been.

I figured HT policy was just to double most coupons anyway. Is this really a register error I've been exploiting all along, or did I just run into a jerk?

    • mariep

I was not able to get all my GM products in one trip because I had to leave to go somewhere. If I purchased 4 items in one trip, will that count towards the next trip to get the $6 or is it in one trip only?

      • Nita Royal

Unfortunately, no. They must all be in one transaction.

    • Nita Royal

Best trip yet – Went back to HT this morning, and apparently they had restocked last night. When I was there yesterday, they had put new booklets of coupons in the produce section….including $1 Q's for many of the items in the GM sale. I had picked up 3 of those, and the Catalina for meat, so I used them today. Got $97 of groceries for $5.33 (including tax!).

One note – at my store, 2 of the Progresso Soups count as 1 toward the sale, so I ended up buying more than 20 items, but it was an awesome deal. Even with so many couponers mobbing the store, the cashiers said this was the most impressive trip they had seen ;-)

    • kthmsn

This morning while I was checking out at my local HT, the cashier who is also an asst. manager begged me….I mean literally begged me to post her request…..after a week of super doubles, the cashiers get a little tired and ragged and this is what she said, “Please, please ask them to be nice, not to yell at my cashiers, and not to fight over every little thing….it will just make it harder on all of you in the long run.” Now, I'm not saying that any of you are doing that…..I'm just posting this because I felt so terrible for the poor thing. Our local HT is wonderful and doubles everything….never turns down a coupon and overrides everything…..so I just wanted to pass on the favor and post what she asked. Thanks.

      • RH

Yes, be nice to the cashiers – it has been a long week for some of them! My cashier today pointed out an expired coupon that I hadn't noticed and she pulled it out. I asked her to also take off the item since I was only buying because of the coupon. She did, was very nice about it, and then THANKED ME for not argueing with her! My error and she was thanking me for being nice! She went on to say she has had people yelling at her all week. Told me about one man that insisted he should be allowed to use a bumblebee tuna coupon on starkist tuna and another woman that had 8 boxes of Green Giant vegetables and wanted to use 3 $1/3 coupons… and wouldn't got get another box!!

    • tcrawley2

Another sweet deal today!!!! $190 worth for $0.03!!!!!!!! I've been going every day, spent less that $10 total and have gotten over $900 worth! Has anyone tried to freeze the yogurt cups? I am wondering if the texture is the same after thawing as it is originally. Same with the guacamole. I need to do something with all of this yogurt- I literally can not fit another thing in my refrigerator, but with 5 kids, I know we will use it all (we eat at least 6 cups a day in this house and the exp. on the ones I bought aren't until late Oct.) I'm just hoping I can store some of it in the freezer without ruining the texture.

      • Joycepage

I cannot vouch for yougurt but quacamole definitely does freeze well and you cannot tell it once you thaw. I kept some frozen from Sam's club for months and it ws fresh when thawed …. tasted great.

      • AR

Yes, I would like to know that too??? The tax on all the food would cost more than 3 cents.

        • tcrawley2

I used $12 worth of catalina coupons and they come off of grand total, not just pre- tax. I earned $6 in catalinas back.

      • Ashlee

I have frozen the quacamole and thawed it in a bowl of hot water. The texture was normal.

    • Cohaheho

Just curious how you received 190 worth for .03cents??? can you get in to that a little bit more… we have just started coupon'ing… and i'm the guy in the house trying to figure this all out!! lol

    • Guest

After seeing what most are saving and how many amazing deals were
part of this SD’s I am not as happy with my total for the two weeks
but total oop was $62.41 for what would have been $398.05….still not
      too shabby. Still learning. :O)

    • marieo

Went today and did the GM promotion….. ended up saving a ton, got some things for free I will be giving away b/c I won't use them. It was kind of a hassle and I had to get more items because of the b1g1 and then the ad is very specific to the cereal you can get and some of it is sold out so I had to change some around, ended up spending $2-3 more than I wanted to on it because I had to quickly get some other products for the promo to come off. I did get my $3 off for green giant. Overall, the super doubles have been great. Have spent $32 and saved well over $100! I just started this 5 wks ago, and have been pleased :)

    • Tsmith8966

Wow! what a wonderful superdouble! over this week Ive done the general mills promo several times and have landed over 50 boxes of frozen veggies, over 40 cans of soup and a boat load of other things freeeee! If you stack each GM promo right it makes the order free after the catalina! this has been a real blessing to my fam! I was so in need of a stock on veggies and soup! GO HARRIS TEETER!

      • marieo

Thats awesome! Can you get into it a bit more how you can stack the coupons? I am new to this and just learning! I would love to get cereal for free. I think I ended up spending .70-1.20 per box of cereal. Thanks!

    • Rockcity_23_2000

if anyone lives in Charlotte NC I have a bunch of coupons that I will not use and I hate to see them be just thrown away. They expire 9/25/2010 thru 10/3/2010.

email me if you want them!!!

    • max88

I was at HT yesterday and the cashier in the deli area (where you pay for salad bar) would not double a $1 coupon because it said DO NOT DOUBLE even though the barcode started with a 5. She even called a supervisor over to get the cash register to NOT double my coupon. Has anyone else run into this or did I just get a mean cashier?

      • linda

Yes…the HT I have been shopping at for about a year decided with this sale to not double any coupon that said DO NOT DOUBLE. The cashier sorted the coupons and told me they were informed not to double these coupons. I went to different HT about 8 miles away and they were still doubling these coupons. Obviously, it depends on the store management.

    • nancycrom

I combined the Keebler 1.00q x2 with their buy 2 pkg get 2.00q off milk(organic on evic sale for 2.99) In the same trip use Nabisco 1.00q off cakesters together with your facebook Oreo bogo q to get 2 pkg of Oreo/cakesters for .99. The milk satisfies both q requirements. So you get 2 pkg Keebler cookies, 1 gallon organic milk, and 2 pkg Oreos all for 1.98.

    • nancycrom

      Jenny,

Can't there be a seperate section or heading or special icon in the comments just to post deals we find? It's hard to scan 100's of messages to find other people's deals. Anyway, here's 2 more I haven't seen listed:

      Cheemo pierogies 1.50 -1.00blue penguin q = free

      Clorox wipes 2.50 -1.00ipq = .50

    • Brownebaby

My HT in Ballantyne (CLT NC) had General Mills Coupon books near the deli. In it is a coupon $1 off 3 Old El Paso products. Makes the seasoning packets free and you may get the Catalina when you buy 6. YAY!!!

    • Christinescoupon

I am fairly new at this and I am sure this is a question you have all answered before but I hadn't seen the answer so… when the coupon is from Target or Kroger or somewhere else and says web coupon or Publix on it can you still use it at HT? I know the if it starts with a 9 they don't double it thing but wasn't sure about using the rest. Thanks.

    • Ms Lallie

This was my FOURTH trip to HT!!! Racked up $65 of groceries paid $10.72 WOOHOO!!!! I FINALLY was able to get 2 bags of Rhodes dinner rolls for $.25 each. They are always gone by the time I go looking for them. Campbells soup 2 can for $.50. This was a very good Super Doubles! Food Lion also has Juicy Juice on sale for $.99 I used a buy 2 get $1 off coupon to get 2 for $.99. This was not in their ad.

    • tcrawley2

Wow- this was quite the super doubles week in Fayetteville! I'm tired, but it was so worth it. I added everything up last night. I got well over $1000 worth this week for a bit under $10 oop!!!!!!! Adding in all the free aquapods from Food Lion was just the icing on the cake!!! I am really looking forward to your workshop on Friday night. Thanks for all of your work!

    • nc_sunshine

FREE cheese… Love it! With the $1 off Kraft coupons posted yesterday, I just had to make another run to HT. The Kraft and Cracker Barrel cheese-blocks were on 'slight' sale for $2.99 — with HT's “Back to School” promo to get $3 off instantly when you buy 3 Kraft products, paired with my $1 coupons doubling to $2 each — cheese was FREE!!! Lovely, Grommit! ;-)

      • nc_sunshine

Just checked my receipts… Including the two 12-packs of Ball jars I bought (took advantage of the doubled $1 coupons paired with $1.50-off sale — hopefully they came out less than I might find at Big Lots or elsewhere), I saved over 65% this week! Not including the jars, my savings jumps to over 70%… Very cool! And I still only did the GM $6 promo once.
