lol @ “If I had a Harris Teeter”! I’m thinking about visiting friends in NC just in time for triples! Thanks for all that you do!

    • Jenny

It makes think of the old song “If I had a million dollars”, I’ve been singing it for the last hour.

    • wew

Thanks for ALL you put together! The list link for free stuff isnt working

      • Jenny

Just got it up, so it should be working now :)

    • jess

where’d you get your prices from? I noticed that there’s some discrepancies b/w the prices up top on things and in that deal list at the bottom

      • Jenny

If you mean my example at the bottom. In the example I added back in the .33 cents per item so that folks would understand why the coupons were tripling to that value and they could see the instant savings deal in action.

In the deals above the example I took out the .33 cents per item to help you shop without having to do the math :)

    • Maehing O

WHOO HOOOOO!!!! Harris Teeter… here I come! Thanks Jenny! I love Publix… but this is worth the drive!

    • OMG- this is CRAZY GOOD!!!!!!

    • katie in virginia

Jenny – thank you for all of the triple match ups.

BUT, thank you so so so so so so much also for the Ah-MAZING grocery list tool. You have just saved me SO much time. I always go shopping with my children and, naturally, have to bring a super organized grocery list so that I don’t forget items while I go up and down the aisles.

    • Katherine

Where can I find the green giant coupons?

    • Michelle

Is the triple coupon deal just Wednesday the 16th or the whole week?

    • Phillis

Dang, My green giant coupons say “do not double.” Will HT double these or not? The barcode does start with a “5”

    • ang

I need to know if they will double as well my Old El Paso coupon says do not double or triple. The coupon for the Pillsbury sweet rolls in the SS 9/13 is .50/2. Won’t this make them free. I didn’t see this scenario in the list.

    • bridget

Thanks for the incredible list! Can you tell me if this sounds right to you for the GM deal:

      6 GG @99 cents less 3 50 cents/2 qs= $1.50/6 + get $3OYNO cat
      2 OEP shells @ $1.50 each less 1 60 cents/2 q= $1.20/2
      2 OEP sides @ $1.25 each less 1 60 cents/2 q= 70 cents/2
      2 OEP spice packets using 2 peelies for B2/G 1 free spice (b/c buying 4 above)= free
use cat I have for $3 off beef with purchase of 6 OEP (I am assuming my spices will still count in the 6 b/c they will not ring as free until peelie is deducted – is this correct? Also assuming the free after peelies can count in my 15 total for GM deal?)

get another cat for $3 off beef for next OEP purchase

      2 Pillsbury cinnamon rolls @ $1 each less 50 cents/2 q= 50 cents/2
      1 chex mix $2 less 50 cents q= 50 cents

total $4.40 (not including beef) less 5 GM deal = 60 cents moneymaker + get $3 GG cat and $3 OEP cat???!!! Will this work – it just seems so incredible!!!

    • ang

Sorry. That wasn’t SS it was G Everyday Saver.

    • Jessica

I have a question. If you are getting two of the same item and you have 2 coupons can you use those in the same transaction? As in two 75 cents off Wacky Mac two bags of Wacky Mac same transaction.

    • Janet

My HT does not give overage :(

All coupons double/triple EXCEPT catalinas and coupons that begin with 9. If you have a coupon that starts with 5, and it says “do not double or triple”, it should still triple.

    • Phillis

Still having trouble with printing online Smartsource coupons. I am only getting a small icon picture of the product, no coupon. I keep getting a java disabled message, but my Java is not disabled. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix? I have tried everthing that I know of. I have called and e-mailed Smartsource, but yet to get someone to call or e-mail me back.

      • Diana

Phyllis, For a couple of weeks I have been getting the same thing when I tried to print from SmartSource. After long frustration of changing everything I could think of I decided to change my printer settings on the “Advanced” tab to the following and it worked! Yay! I did have it on “Print directly to the printer” and it use to work but it stopped working. Now it is working again with the following changes. Good luck!

Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster
        Start printing immediatly

    • bridget

Phyllis, I have had that same problem. I think what I did was follow the instructions for enabling java (even though I knew it was already enabled) and it seemed to reset it so it worked. Good luck!

ps – you had asked about the DND5s – they will automatically multiply unless you have a scary cashier who pulls them aside to enter manually (only an issue at certain locations from what I hear)

    • kay

After speaking with the manager on duty this morning at my HT, they will NOT double or triple coupons that are stated on them, “no doubling or tripling”. I assume the computer system is set up not to double or triple. I have been burned in the past and that is why I asked today.

    • ACW

I hope I’m not repeating a question, here. I know HT limits to tripling 20 coupons per person, per day… but if I purchase 30 of the General Mills qualifying items, does that result in *two* $5 instant savings?… or is it limited to one $5 deduction per purchase? I know how other stores in my area work, but I’m just starting to shop with HT and can’t recall how they do it.
Any info you can share is greatly appreciated! :)

    • Jill

I am loving the shopping list tool. Usually I have to write out my list and this is SO HELPFUL! :)

    • Thanks for this awesome list! I’m getting my coupons prepared today & will go early tomorrow before all the goodies fly off the shelves!

In response to whether HT will double or triple coupons that state DND5s, my store does, unless you’re unfortunate enough to get one of those “scary” cashiers Bridget mentioned…LOL, so scope out cashiers you might have used in the past!

      Have fun everyone!

    • Thia may sound dumb but what does Catalina dollars mean? I am new to this still! Thanks!

Also, why do we hav eto add 15 items? Can we get more or less items for the #5 instant savings?

    • Kellyann

It was asked earlier, but I didn’t find an answer – is the tripling only Wednesday or all week??

    • Kellyann

PS – LOVE the new shopping tool. It’s AWESOME!!!!

    • Nikki

Jenny…is there a coupon limit? If so, can I make a purchase take it out to my car then go back in for another trip? Thanks

    • Marlene

Nikki, they will only triple 20 coupons per day, after that they just redeem at regular coupon value.
Many stores seem to have tied this to your VIC card so that you can’t make another trip same day and triple more than 20 coupons.
      Hope that helps.

    • Dianne

Love the printable grocery list!!!!!! saving me lots of time!!!!

    • Stephanie

Just to clarify so after I triple 20 coupons even coupons that would normally double will not double. We will actually be on vacation with a HT. I am so excited!

      • Jenny

You are right after that 20 then all the coupons after that will be face value only. So try to stick to 20 items because anything past that will probably be a better deal back home!

    • Amy

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shopping list tool. A big time saver. Thanks so much!!!!!

    • Leslie

Sorry, but I’m new to the coupon world. Can you tell me what the “catalina” dollars are? I live in NC, but I’ve never heard of them.

    • Candace

Are catalinas tied to a certain card? Or can someone else use it

    • Sheri

Thanks for all you do :-) I love the new shopping list tool

    • melissa

What is the GG catalin? Off next purchase or is it taken immediately?

    • Melissa S.

My husband tells me they are discontinuing the Weight Watchers Smart Ones frozen dinners at his store, East Bay Street/Charleston Harris Teeter. They are $1.84 and $2.44. I don’t buy them so I don’t know if that’s a good price but just wanted to pass that along.

The triples should be running through the regular Harris Teeter sale cycle week, from Weds. Sept. 16 – Tues. Sept. 22.

    • Lollie

      Love the shopping list!

    • Amanda

Harris Tetter does not do overage. the register gives you exactly what the item costs. It is still a good deal though.

    • Kim

I have had experiences where the coupon was doubled/tripled up to the original price, not the sale price. So, isn’t that getting an overage? For example, it was regularly $1.49 and on sale for $.99. I had a $.50 coupon that tripled up to $1.49 but I only paid $.99 for it. That is an overage of $.50, right?

    • Arielle

The grocery list tool is INCREDIBLE! This couldn’t have come at a better time… thank you thank you THANK YOU!!! :D

    • just got back from harris teeter in mt. pleasant, sc. green giant vegetables are not including in the general mills promotion : (. had a difficult cashier who did not want to double or triple coupons that said not to. my recommendation: don’t go to the longpoint ht early in the am.

    • Carly

Don’t think the Charleston HT’s are giving catalinas for the old el paso products:( Can’t complain still a VERY successful trip! 96% savings!!!

    • Little Amy

Went to the Asheville store. Cashier looked at EVERY coupon and would not double the Margaret Holmes veggies or the Martha White corn meal mix, which did say not to double on them. Every other coupon tripled just fine.

    • Marlene

      To Kim – re overage
Some stores will give you the overage but HT has fixed this so that all coupons will only double or triple to the sales price
For the 99cent item the 50cent coupon will not triple it will only multiply to another .49 so that the item is free.
If the item is $1.99 the coupon would triple.

    • Kimber

I agree with Carissa comment #42. I had the same problems at the Longpoint Mt Pleasant HT. Would not double/triple certain coupons and green giant veggies did not go towards general mills promotion.

Check your prices, did not have certain items marked on sale or did not have them on sale as Southern Savers lists states.

My friends have had better success shopping at Houston Northcutt Mt. Pleasant HT. I think I will visit that store tomorrow.

    • Amy

OK – Can I tell you how much I love you with this wonderful breakdown?? This is GREAT!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    • ACW

To answer the question I posed earlier in the week…
For the General Mills $5 off 15 items deal, it is limited (at my store) to one reward per purchase. I debated with the manager, but he wouldn’t budge. I specifically asked, and he confirmed it is not limited per customer, per week, or per day… just per purchase. “So, what you’re saying is, you’d rather I take up your cashier’s time running two separate purchases in the future?” He said yes, that the computer was set up that way and he couldn’t change it. :(
Well, at least now I know. Thought I’d share.

    • ACW

Oh… and watch for your Green Giant $3 printout – mine didn’t print, so they gave it in cash at customer service.

    • ACW

      @ 42 & 45:
My circular, page 7 (where the GM items are shown) has a green banner at the bottom. The fine print reads:
      “Participating products…
…Green Giant: Niblets Canned, Vegetables with No Sauce, Vegetables in Special Sauces, Simply Steam Seasoned Vegetables, Immunity Boost Vegetables…”
This *is* a qualifying item here.

    • ACW

      correction: 42 and *46*

    • bridget

Had incredibly good trips to HT today! First store spent $1.40 oop, saved $51 and got $3 cats from OEP and GG! The GM deal did not work at that store, but the manager refunded me the $5. It did work automatically at the 2nd store. I hit a 3rd store for more GG, and the cat did not print, so they had to refund me the $3 at customer service. Everything tripled without trouble, including DND5s. Amazing deals to be had, just watch carefully to make sure you are getting everything on your cat and GM deals.

    • Amy

Was anyone able to get the Cole’s coupon. When I went to the site, it said currently working on coupon. Wondering if I am doing something wrong…..

    • Jenn

Made out like a bandit. I even used the $1 off Mccormick coupon on a packet of Mccormick gravy to go with the turkey that I got on sale last week that I’m making making for dinner. I had 6 bags of groceries and spent $22! I also used the Yoplait Delights coupon that I had for $1.25 off which made a pack of 4 only .75!

    • Jenn

Does anyone know how eVic works? I got the email but wasn’t sure if I just grab the waffles and my card will scan it for the sale price of if I have to ask for it at checkout.

    • Melissa S.

Jenn #56 – All you have to do is grab the item and have your card scanned. The price will adjust automatically for you.

    • Thanks for the amazing list, Jenny! I was wondering on what website to find the Old El Paso coupon. The link is not showing up on your list. Thanks!

    • MC

the shopping list is the BOMB! makes a big difference for me! When I printed my coupons from coupon.com, the vast majority of them say do not double – that was disappointing. How do I know this about these coupons before I print so I can save the ink? What is the trick about some number that it starts with will still let it double anyway?

    • bridget

MC – if the bar code starts with a 5, the DND coupons will automatically double (or triple as the case may be) when scanned. The only exception is if you have a cashier who pulls aside the DNDs to manually enter so they won’t scan. (An issue only at certain locations, from what everyone says.) If the bar code starts with a 9, which is usually true for catalinas and blinkies, the coupon will not double.

    • katie

i had incredible luck at the HT in mt. pleasant today. the boxed frozen Green Giant do count towards the GM promotion – or at least they did for me. also i was able to get the catalinas for both the green giant products and the old el paso. i got 6 large bags of groceries today for $11! saved 85%! I hoping to go back tomorrow for some more fun!

    • michelle

I am new to using coupons. Would someone please tell me what the catalinas are?

    • Jennifer

catalinas are the coupons that print off with your receipt.

    • Genia

      Hello Jenny…
I love this week’s HT deals. Thanks for all you do.

Question: How do we know about the Catalina deals other than your website? Stupid question, right? Help!!!!

      Greensboro, NC

    • Laura

I think I read this already somewhere, but is it true that you can get catalinas for both items. For example, can you get the $3.00 for the Old El Paso promotion and can those products be included in the $5.00 GM promotion? Seems too good to be true!

    • Jennifer

Just so everyone knows, lucky are those who got their green giant frozen boxed veggies to count because mine didn’t and since I had a poopy screaming 11month old I just asked the cashier if I got the discount instead of checking myself. She told me yes but when I got home twenty minutes away I realized I didn’t and I called the store and they told me the boxed ones did not count. So be ware! But thank you Jenny for your hard work I still saved 66%! But I”m going back Saturday for round two and the management said they would take my veggies back and if I purchased a qualifying item they would refund the $5!

    • Ginny

Jennifer #66 – you might want to check your store’s flyer. Perhaps where you are the GG boxed veggies don’t count, but here in Charleston, SC they most definitely do. It says so quite clearly on the flyer (on the page with the other items for the 15-item deal). In the fine print, they are included. It’s essentially all GG frozen boxed veggies that are currently on sale for 99 cents each. The cans are not included, but those are. At least that’s the case here!

    • Michelle

When one says that if the DND coupons start with a 5….what does that mean? Sorry, but I am still pretty new to this. Thanks!!!

    • Michelle

      Nevermind…I found it. LOL

    • Boo hoo. My cashier tonight pulled out all of my dnds and manually entered them. My OOP would have been $2.31 if they had tripled!! As it was I got $64 worth of groceries for $13.31. I need to find an ally at my HT… he even called over the manager, and she reiterated that it is HT’s policy to abide by the wording on the coupon.

    • Katrina

If you buy 2 Pizza rolls and get 3 free, do the 3 free ones count toward the 15 items? I am trying to work my plan and one of my scenarios counts on this.

    • VeronicaB

For MT Pleasant couponers… I haven’t had any luck with any HT in the MP area. They always argue over my printed coupons. The ONLY HT I’ve never had issues it the one on James Island by the downtown connector. It’s a small hike, but they have never gave me gull about them.

    • Amy

For All CHARLESTON couponers — I agree with VeronicaB! I’ve had trouble at the Mt Pleasant stores, but never with the Downtown HT or the JI HT. I will never use coupons again at the Mt Pleasant stores — very difficult and stressful!

    • Heather C

I was just referred to your site from Beverly D (dealseekingdiva.com and beverlybygrace.com)…after getting addicted to couponing a few weeks ago and driving myself INSANE your site has given me what no coupon for free Celexa could do, hahahaha I LOVE it! so informative! I can come to your site, click my list for HT (they tried to give me some flack last night about coupons, but I had my stuff together, now I wish I had found your site yesterday!), and shop away!!! thanks again for this monumental effort!

    • LaDora

At my store, the GG Frozen Boxed and GG Niblets canned are included in the $5wyb15 promotion. I am sorry you are all having trouble with your stores. My store is great! When the $5 doesn’t come off, they take the $5 off as a store coupon! I have gotten countless biscuits, canned GG niblets, and GG Frozen veggies for pennies on the dollar! I love being able to get things that our family will eat so cheap! I love couponing! It is truly addictive! Heading back tonight for more PB Biscuits and GG Frozen veggies, if I can find more blinkie’s at FL, that is! My HT has only one time given me flack about DND5’s and when they scanned, they tripled anyhow! That was last triples, on the other GM promotion! Sorry this is so long, just providing some clarification on the GG veggies and got carried away lol!

    • Please complain to corporate if you feel you are getting hassled about couponing. They need to know that they are running a most wonderful campaign but some of their employees don’t seem to want to play nice. My suggestion to them was to have a coupon friendly line staffed with someone well versed in their policy so that I could use it without feeling like the people behind me were put out by my couponing. Plus while I was waiting my turn I could pick up a few good tips from the couponers waiting with me. :]

    • Summer

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but there must be an extra special deal on Hillshire Farms. I was fully prepared to pay the 1.85 each for lunchmeat but I bought 2- they both rang up at 2.00 each.

      (2) Hillshire Farms Lunchmeats at 2.00 each
(I believe you have to buy 2 to get the deal)
Use (2) .55 coupons that triple.

      Makes each one .35 each!!

    • Laura

Can anyone tell me if Cookie Crisp is included in the General Mills promotion?? So far the only lists I can find on the GM promotion list Cheerios, Total, and Lucky Charms… Are those the only GM cereals included in the buy 15, save 5, deal? Thanks!!!

    • I just did my best HT triples visit EVER! I got 15 cans of Green Giant vegetables (my store did not limit to 10)and got the $5.00 General Mills cashback instantly. I also bought 5 boxes of frozen Green Giant veggies (with coupons for each one) and got the $3.00 back instantly since their catalinas were not printing. Also got 12 Clif bars ($1.50 each on sale) with 12 $.50 coupons so they were all free. I purchased a set of baskets on clearance and when they rang up wrong, I got them free so they actually paid me almost $1 to take all this STUFF!! WOO H00!!! Thank you Jesus! Jenny, I also want to thank you for the list of “free after triples”. I took it into the store with me and all your info helps me tremendously! Thank you so much!

    • MC

I am feeling so jazzed – today was hands down the best I have ever done! $59.95 worth of graoceries for $4! But the best part was that I shared this website with two people (one a HT manager, no less) who cannot wait to check it out! Thanks, Jenny, for the wonderful website and for adding the grocery list feature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • My understanding about the “do not double” on some coupons is the company who puts them out is covering themselves that THEY will not double or triple. If the first number from the left is 5, they will double, if it is a 9 (like lots of blinkie coupons) they will not. Also my Charlotte/Huntersville area flyers state (at the bottom in small print) that the canned Green Giant niblets and vegetables withOUT sauce are all included in the 15 General Mills products needed for the $5 instant rebate. Don’t forget 5 frozen GG boxed veggies ($.99 at my stores) will get you a separate catalina for $3. If the catalinas won’t print, my stores have all given it immediately. Sorry so long…

    • MC

I called customer service at HT corporate on Friday because the Dannon yogurt coupons NEVER double or triple. He explained that there was no way for them to enter it differently in the system and then asked which stores I shopped at. He said he would call the managers of those stores and tell them to override whenever I had a Dannon coupon. When i went in the store today and was talking to the manager (after the Mahatma rice did the same thing and would not triple completely) and I mentioned the yogurt coupon, she knew exactly who I was. She said that all the employees had been told that morning to override the Dannon coupon if a lady asked for it. She went ahead and overrode the Mahatma since it did the same thing. I thanked her for the great customer service!

    • NikkiB

I am new to this site. So far so good with the exception of some issues in finding the same prices as posted here. Oh well. I need some help though.

Can anyone tell/show me where to find the Old El Paso coupons?? I can not find them anywhere?

Also, pretty much all of the printed coupons say “Do not Double” If that is so, how are you getting the deal?

    • Dawn

Something very surprising happened to me last night at HT!

I received the $5 discount for the Pillsbury/General Mills promotion but did not have 15 items related to it (from what I could tell).
I had shopped at HT a few nights before and had 7 or 8 items that did fit GM promotion.

Ya’ll probably already know the answer and can enlighten me:
Is it possible that the GM promotion spans over multiple transactions/days?

I also got the #3 catalina for buying lots of GG veggies. I understand that one.

Thank you God! Thank you Southern Savers for your hard work! You’re saving my southern family $ and from having to eat Food Lion generics all the time.
