    • Jamie Severance

I don’t know how you stay on top of all these deals, but thanks. You’re awesome. I’m new to this site, and I’m pretty sure I’m addicted. :)

      • Rachel

Dito, my daughter just said the same thing to me last night!! HaHa!!

    • Natalie

Jenny all your excitement means my Walgreens will surely be out of stock :)

Question: If you buy 4 will the big joy store coupon auto deduct x 4, $12? And do you have to match the number of big joy deductions with the number of items in your transaction?

      • Natalie

I tried with only one and my cashier was friendly and helpful but said that I needed 4 of the big joy coupons, one for each hair care item. Not wanting to argue and not being 100% sure myself I decided to wait, print 3 more, and stop by again today.

      • Carla

My store took off the coupon (3 off) on each of the two products I used, plus I had a $5.00 of two!

        6.99 x 2 = 13.98
        – 3.00 x 2 (big joy coupon) = 6.00
        – 5.00 (coupon on-line)
for a grand total of = 2.98 oop

        NOT bad at all!

    • janice moody

Jenny- I have such trouble printing the coupons from this particular site that you have directed us to. Sometimes they just won’t print. And now the new thing that is happening is that it is only printing the picture of the product. Do you have any suggestions. Everytime I try it then I loose the coupon. Thanks for all you do. I would love to meet you someday! Merry Christmas!

      • Tiffani

I have trouble printing Smartsource coupons if I’m using FireFox….my computer freezes up 100% of the time. So, I try to use IE if I know that it’s a SS print. IE works everytime. HTH you out.

    • Cynthia

Don’t forget about the $5 ECB when you buy $10 in Root Awakening products at CVS! This could potentially make it free! I’m getting ready to go get some now and am excited!

      • CVS is the way to go for me. 4 shampoo and 4 conditioner with 4 $5 off 2 coupons and the $5 off 20 CVS coupon = $4.04MM for 8 quality products.

        • Brianna

If the Print limit is 2, how do you get 4 printable coupons?

          • Adriane

To get more than 2 of a coupon, you can use another computer. You shouldn’t ever make a copy of a coupon that you’ve printed, but it’s fine to use more than 1 computer if you have access to them. (I asked my husband to print these for me at work, for example.)

            • marty

will cvs take a walgreens coupon?
              I am new to this.

          • Sharon Weston

I give my husband a list to get them at work. He has about 5 different computers he can use.

    • ShellyM

I just got home from Wags. I purchased 4 Root Awakening prods using 2 $5/2 and one Big Joy. You MUST give the printable coupons first otherwise they won’t go through. The Big Joy coupon actually reads “manufacture coupon good only at Walgreens.” A very NICE manager was willing to scan my printables ($10 total off) first then the Big Joy one ($12 total off). Great deal! Thanks. I am looking forward to being “just 7 days away from great hair.” lol

      • ShellyM

Oh, and I just looked at my $5RR and it expires the 20th…gotta turn that one around quick!

        • Jenny

          Wow that expires fast!

      • Sara B

Ah, so that’s where I went wrong. Because I got 4 and had 2 $5/2 coupons, but she scanned the store Q first and it wouldn’t take the second $5/2 so i had to do 2 separate transactions but only paid $2 oop for 4 products, plus i still have another $5/2 and (2) $2/2!

    • Sandra

      Just got back.

      Here’s how it went.

First of all, I bought 4 products. I was told I had to do two transactions so doing it that way I did not get back the Register Rewards. Also, the $3.00 Big Joy Store Coupon was behind the counter. I had to ask a manager for that.(it is NOT in the big joy store coupon pamphlet on display)

So my 4 products cost $3.42 Total. Which still is a good deal but not as good as posted.

      • Adriane

Sandra, would they not allow you to use the printed Big Joy coupon? I’m getting ready to head to Walgreens to do this deal, so I just want to be prepared.

        • Jamie Severance

Sandra..don’t forget about tax. That’s probably why it costed more than expected:)

    • Adriane

I am SO excited about this! Root Awakenings is my favorite shampoo, so hopefully I can get a few to last until the next sale :)

    • Stacey

Maybe I am missing something.. but couldn’t I just buy 6 of the products at CVS for a total of 26.96..use the $5/$20 Q, then use 3 of the $5/2 MQ? It would be 6.96 OOP but get back $15 in ECBs.. I am new to CVSing, so someone please help me out! Thanks:)

      • Kelly

I was thinking the same thing! That makes since to me. Except I was going to use 2 5/2 and 2 2/1 because that’s all my ONE computer will let me print out.

        • Stacey

Seems like that would work.. now I am even more confused since I looked in my ad and didn’t see anything about ECBs on John Frieda Collection.. It only said B1G1 50% off..

          • Tegan

I believe the ECB deal comes from the Holiday Savings book. I’ve yet to find it at my store, but others are reporting that the cashiers have the booklet behind the counter.

            • Stacey

Ohh thanks for the clarification.. so is it a coupon I need to use, or is it automatic for those particular ECBs?

            • Tisha

Has anyone tried it yet at CVS? I hate it when I get all pumped up for a great deal then get there and I can’t find it. :-)

            • Kelly

I tried it. I did not realize I needed a coupon to get the ECBs so I didn’t get them. They were 6.99 bogo, so I paid 8.42 including tax for 4. I am not happy:(

            • Kelly

              Oops, they weren’t bogo, I meant b1g50%

            • shannon

You’re not supposed to have to have a coupon to get the ECB. There’s an issue with the computers and the manager at my CVS thinks that the code didn’t get submitted properly. When you go, just show them the deal in the book and insist they give you the ECB. The promotion is accurate.

      • Sharon Weston

If your total was $26.96 then you would only get $10 ECB

        • Stacey

Ok, have the CVS deal figured out for anyone that is still confused. I went last night and it makes sense now. What you want to do is take your $5/$20 Q, (3) $5/2 John Frieda’s and make sure you grab a “season to save” book by the register. Get 6 Root Awakening products.. at my store they are $6.99 full price so b1g1 50% off makes it 10.49 for two. So for six your total is $31.47. Use your coupons, and there is also a voucher in the season to save for $4 ECB when you spend $20. So you end up paying $11.47 OOP but get back $19 ECB. $7.53 MM!!

          • Stacey

Oh, forgot to say that my ECBs did not print automatically, but I showed the cashier the book, and she printed them manually.

      • mandy

This deal wouldn’t work because you wouldn’t get the third $5 ECB. The deal is $5 ECB for every $10 in John Frieda products you buy (limit 3), so you will need to spend at least $30 total to get all ECB’s.

    • KT

Mine came to $2.55, and no RR :-(
      But still a great price!

      • Brianna

Mine did not print the RR either. I agree still a great deal. It did print another coupon $3/2 john frieda so I may be going back to get some more.

    • Stacy Smith

I just got back from Walgreens and I purchased 4 Root Awakening products and used 2 $5/2 coupons and the Wags coupons took off $12 and I had no problems with any of the coupons. However, the $5 RR did not print and I know the printer was working because I had one other RR print?? I didn’t complain though because I already was getting a great deal.

      • Jackson

I had the same problem but had a great store manager. He showed me that when you get the 15% off at the cosmetic counter, it comes off when they ring the item. This takes the 6.99 to 5.74 x 4 = $22.96, he got me 3 battery operated tea lights and it took me over the 25.00 amount. Then he got my RR’s to print. I was so excited I did the deal again for my Daughters stocking and I used the RR’s for a new blow dryer for her stocking also using the Big Joy q also and it was a great Day for Me. I hope this helps. MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL.

    • Shannon in ATL

I purchased some earlier this week at CVS, they rang up B1G%50 but the ecb did not print. The manager had to print it for me.

      • Tiffani

Would you mind clarifying what the deal is? Is it….5 ECB wyb $10 worth OR is it…..5 ECB wyb 2 JF products? TIA.

        • mandy

It’s a $5 ECB for every $10 you spend in John Frieda products.

    • Kim

What zip code do I use to get the $5/2? I can only find the $2 off q.

    • J. O’Shields

I hit CVS this afternoon and bought 4 of these with 4 of the $5/2 coupons, plus my $5/20. I ended up paying $.96 (!!!) and no ECB’s printed. I’m not sure the cashier rang it up right, but I’m quite content with $30 worth of hair care for less than $1!

    • Michael Odell

I just got back from CVS and bought 8 JF root awakening! NO ECB!!!!

      What’s the deal?

      • Alena

Go back and show your reciept, also show them CVS “Season to Save” booklet (they have them at the register if you dont have one) pg. 56
and code is 1766008 in case they have a problem printinf ESB’s, also it has a limit of 3! Good luck!

        • Brianna

Thank you so much for your detailed comment. My CVS did not have any Season to Save books behind the register or out in the store but they knew what I was talking about and I showed them your comment with the details on it and they gave my my ECB’s. (3) $5 each which worked out great b/c the other way would have given me $15 big one.

    • marty

will cvs not take the walgreens big joy coupon?

    • Marsha

I did this tonight at Walgreens. I bought 4, used 2 of the $5 off 2 coupons and the Big Joy coupon (took off $12). The cashier told me the 15% off I printed from FB was not the coupon because she needed one with a barcode. But I can’t find one with the barcode. Anyway still a great deal bc it ended up being around $4 and it printed the $5 RR.

      • Annamarie

yes it is. you have to check out in the cosmetics or photo register to use it. Essentially its the employee discount. That stinks they didn’t know.

    • d

just for the record guys, the John Frieda hair stuff had the $5 ECB LAST week, from what I was told. I did the same deal and didn’t get ECB. It’s sad that I actually work at CVS and didn’t realize that. ahhh well.

      • Alena

“Season to Save” booklet states all ESB’s will print tru 12/25, John Freida deal is listed on pg. 56, limit of 3

        • d

sweet, ok.. I was just going by what the CVS told me :) thanks!

    • kelli

from the looks of it on cvs.com (and the price listed in the holiday catalog)… the root awakening shampoo/conditioner is $6.99, meaning that you only need to buy 6, 8 would be $41.94 before coupons.

      6.99/2 = $3.49 + $6.99 = $10.98 * 3 = $31.44
      – $5/$20 or $30
      – (3) $5/2
      = 11.44
      get back $15

not as big of a money maker but way more of a money maker then if you did buy 8.

I’m probably going to go to CVS tonight to check this out.

      • sue

Where do you see the $15 ECB advertised? I can’t find it for my CVS. Thanks!

        • Stacey

Sue, its in the Season to save book.

    • Sherry

I paid less than 2 bucks including tax for 4 JF products tonight using the JF Q, Big Joy Q and 15% Q. The cashier said I would probably not get back the $5 RR even if I added more items to make it $25 because of the amount of coupons I used. I went to another store and bought more items totaling $21 in addition to buying 4 more JF products and still no $5 RR because of all the JF & Big Joy coupons. Bummer but still got an amazing deal.

      • Jamie Severance

I had no problem getting the $5RR. I bought 2 JF products at a time as well as other deals. I made sure that the number of products in my transaction equaled the number of coupon used, including each Big Joy. Got the RR. Gotta make sure quantity matches coupons. Fillers re great for this.

      • Courtney

i did this deal tonight at walgreens. at first it didn’t print the $5 HRR, so she voided the transaction. she told me that the 15% discount is applied before anything else and with that discount, my total was under $25. i added a fanny may pecan cluster ($1.29) that looked really good and it worked the second time around. i was able to use a RR to pay since i had to add something in. spent $1.44 oop and got the holiday register reward.

with the 15% discount, the product comes up to $5.94 each. you need an additional $1.24 to get to the $25 mark.

    • Tisha

Hey CVSers…I check out iheartcvs.com every once in a while and on the right side of her page if you scroll down she has a link for the “Seasons of Savings” book. You can print out the ad for the John Frieda deal, so I’m going to try to take it in and see what they say. The code for the deal is 1766008. I guess that is what they would need to enter to get the ECBs to print. Good luck!

    • Jennifer

it is interesting alot of people did not get the $5 back for spending $25 dollars….I had no problem getting mine tonight….She rang everythng up and hit total and the coupon printed before I handed her my coupons…And I got to use my 15% off coupon with no problem either….I really just think it depends on the cashier….I am super nice to mine and at this point, they know me by name….I confuse them with coupon talk and get my way…lol

    • D

So I went to Walgreens tonight to purchase some more John Frita shampoo and conditioner, much to my surprise, the Big Joy savings book is actually DIFFERENT than the one online. There was no John Frita available in the book that I have. Therefore, I came home and made a copy and plan to use it tomorrow. Just be prepared for those of you that also plan to use this coupon, the Big Joy booklet may be a little different so plan ahead and print a copy! Also, the shampoo/conditioner is only 6.29 at my CVS… therefore, my out of pocket is going to be even smaller! Good luck guys!

    • Stephanie G.

For those that didn’t get the $5 HolidayRR, your total had to be $25 after the 15% discount because each item will ring up at the 15% off price…if anyone is still shopping between now and midnight. Hmmm..I may be contemplating a another run:-).

    • Jennie

I did this deal at CVS tonight and like others mentioned the ECB’s did not print out. But, I grabbed the Holiday Gift of Savings book they had on display and showed it to the cashier. He very kindly used the code from the book to get the ECB’s to print for me. And, yes 6 is the amount you should buy at CVS if you want it to be a moneymaker.

      • Michael Odell

        Now you tell me!!!

I wish this was printed above, can you update the deal at the top!

Will they adjust my look at my receipt and print out the ECB’s?

        • D

yes, just take it back into the store.. show them the john frieda products that you bought on your receipt and they should adjust it!

    • jenn

why does the big joy coupon take off 6$ when it says that it takes off 3$ sorry this may be a silly question but I can’t figure it out, do i just need to use 2 of them to total the 6$ but they say one per customer per offer?

      • D

I think it is kind of like a rolling coupon… it will deduct $3 from every product that fits under that coupon that you purchase…

        • Natalie

My cashier was friendly and helpful but said that I needed 4 of the big joy coupons, one for each hair care item. Not wanting to argue and not being 100% sure myself I decided to wait, print 3 more, and stop by again today.

    • Krista

My Wags told me that the $5 RR was only given if you spent $25 after coupons!!! I contacted customer service to verify and they confirmed that this was correct. Did anyone pay less than $25 after coupons and still get the $5 RR???

I was not happy, but after all my coupons I still only paid $4 for 2 John Frieda products, 2 packs – 9 rolls Angel Soft, and 6 rolls of Viva!!! Then I had another transaction for Sonicare Essence (normally $75) and Huggies for only $30, got $7 RR back! I love you Jenny, Southern Savers rocks!!!

      • Courtney

over the last couple of weeks, i have rc’d at least 9 holiday rr and i have never paid more than a dollar out of pocket each time.

    • Stacey

I am repasting this down here because I think it got lost up where I posted it:)

ok, have the CVS deal figured out for anyone that is still confused. $7.53 MM!!

Oh, forgot to say that my ECBs did not print automatically, but I showed the cashier the book, and she printed them manually.

      • sue

I went to my CVS and the ECBs did not print automatically. The store did not have any copies of the booklet left (and I did not either) so they would not print the ECBs for me. :(

        • Stacey

Aww, that sucks.. Maybe if you call CVS customer service they will give you the credit. I am sure they have to be aware of the problem since it seems not any of the stores are printing ECBs automatically.

        • Kelly

          Same here! Boo!

    • Veronica

Has anyone had any issues at Walgreen’s and the three coupons??? My Walgreen’s manager was downright rude and treated me like I was an idiot. Needless to say, I will try the Walgreen’s across town and not return to this one. Bleh!

    • Jen

I went today and at my CVS the root awakening is not buy 1 get 1 50% off, just the other John Frieda ones. Did anyone else have that problem?

      • Stacey

Jen, at my store the root awakenings were the only ones not marked, but they did ring up correctly. hth

      • kelli

the root awakening was only marked as buy one, get one 50% off at 1 of the 3 CVSs I went to today but they rang up correctly.

    • Stacy

Didn’t go as planned at my CVS this morning either. Surprisingly the root therapy product did ring up b1g50% off as it was the only John Freida product without that sign on the shelf. I bought 6 products and my total came to like $14 ( I had to use two $2 off and two $5/2.) I went ahead and paid to see if the ECB’s would print. They didn’t. I showed them the holiday magazine. One didn’t want to give it to me, luckily the other did. However, they felt I had only earned $5 in ECB’s b/c the ad said products 6.49 and up. So, I only had 3 at that price since the others were 50% off. Oh well, $9 for 6 bottles isn’t too bad.

    • faith

Why would you buy 8 john fredia when the limit is 3 deals. shouldn’t you just buy 6 and still use the 5/30 and 3 of the 5/2 coupons. Let me know if i am missing something.

      • kelli

You’re correct, because the price is $6.99. if the price was $5.99, you’d need to buy 7 to get to $30, but it would be silly not to get the 8th.

You only need 6 to get to $30 with the price of $6.99.

    • Sarah

So is the Root Awakening part of the B1Get50% off deal? My hubby was so sweet to go out in the snow to do this deal for me, and he said that there was no sign in front of the Root Awakening and then the cashier told him it wasn’t part of the deal!

      • Chanele

No signs on the root awakening products at my CVS but it did ring up B1Get50% off.

    • Judy

How are you getting $5ECBs at CVS for $2 John Frieda products, I went and I could not find that listed anywhere and I did three deals and nothing printed on my receipt?

      • Stacey

It is advertised in the Season to Save book at CVS. You will have to show this to them and have them manually print the ECBs.

    • kelli

This is what I ended up doing today… 2 transactions.

      Transaction 1:
2 John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo = $6.99 each
2 John Frieda Root Awakening conditioner = $3.49 each
      – $5/$20
      – (2) $5 off 2 John Frieda Root Awakening
      – $6 ECBs
Subtotal: -$.04, Tax: $.80, Total: $.76, Saved: $28, Received $11 ECBs (one for gbt)

      Transaction 2:
2 John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo = $6.99 each
2 John Frieda Root Awakening conditioner = $3.49 each
      – $5/$20
      – (2) $5 off 2 John Frieda Root Awakening
      – $6 ECBs
      Subtotal: -$.04, Tax: $.80, Total: $.76, Saved: $28, Received $5 ECBs

I split it into 2 transactions so that I could use ECBs to cover all but tax. It only ended up being $11.92 before ECBs which was only $.48 more than if you did it in one with only 6 products. And it was still a $1.44 money maker after tax!! :)

    • Brenda Z.

I tried to do this at cvs today and the sale signs were in front of every john freida product EXCEPT root awakening products and the employee even scanned some root items to see if they rang up on sale and they didnt. I double checked w/ the flyer but it doesn’t necessarily specify that ALL john freida things are on sale. the wording is tricky. Anyways- bummer couldn’t get my deal :-( And I LOVE their detangler spray

      • kelli

They wouldn’t show up on sale unless you were buying 2. the first one shows up full price, the second will be 50% off. I would try it again, if you get a chance. The sale paper says “John Frieda Collection shampoo, conditioner 6.7-10oz or styler 1.19-12oz” it doesn’t specify any exclusions. They weren’t marked on sale in 2 out of 3 of the stores that I went to today.

    • Lori M.

I wish I would have checked the comments before I went to CVS. I just got my shampoo but my ECB didn’t print. I didn’t know I would have to tell the cashier to do it automatically. I’m upset. BOO :(

I bought 6 at $7.39 each minus what came off the B1G1, unfortunately I didn’t get any printouts because of my $5/2 printables, but that’s okay, 6 bottles of shampoo for under $1 sounds good to me!

So, since I didn’t get the ECBs I’ll have to do my dental hygiene transactions tomorrow when there isn’t a long line and split them up, but thank god I got this weeks in with next weeks ad!
