I just got back from getting all the unadvertised mega event deals (100 +) and have 5 minutes before running out to get ready for a radio interview tonight (at 5:30), BUT… wanted you to know one quick deal.

Use a coupon to get them for FREE:

-$2 off Reach toothbrush, tearpad (found in Kroger stores recently)
-$2/2 Reach toothbrush printable (possible limit reached)

I’ll get ALL of the other deals typed up later tonight after church.

    • Ambethea

I'm new to this couponing thing. How does this work? Do you just use one of the coupons you listed or all of them? Sorry if this seems like a silly question but I really am clueless. Thanks in advance!

      • Mechlingfamily

One manufacturers coupon per item. She's listing all that are available. Click on the Learn to Coupon tab at the top of the page and it will really explain the system. Good luck!

        • Ambethea

Thank you for pointing me towards the tab! Very helpful!

      • Bfaubion

What I do, when I see a deal like this, I start with research. I try to print out any/all printable (online) coupons. Sometimes they aren't active anymore. . And then I go to my stack of coupon inserts (red plum, smart source, etc). Because this is a nice reduced price, you can buy as many as you have coupons for. The way you get a stack of coupon inserts is by starting with one. :). Mine mostly come from a free local newspaper they throw in my driveway on Thursdays. You mark the date you get it on the front and then recycle the rest of e paper. As you collect them, put them in a box with the oldest on bottom (super easy). DO NOT CLIP ahead of time (at least when you first start). Just clip as you need them and see deals like this. That should get you started for now. :). Good luck!

        • Ginger

This is a nice, helpful answer. You are nice to take the time and lay it all out like that. :)

        • Ambethea

Thank you!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to spell it all out for me :)

        • Im4jc2

Thank you! Im new to this too! I always use coupons but never got the hang of the “super savings”

        • Bryarsmom

          TOTALLY agree with you!
Trying to clip all every week is insane-just no time.
Stay organized from the get-go-I simply file all my inserts in clear plastic boxes or cardboard ones by the month and shove em under the bed til I need to pull & clip for a deal :)

        • Kimmycollett

How do you get the free paper on Thursday??

      • katie

You just use one. She lists several because not everyone has all the coupons available. You just pick the best that you have available to you and decide if that still makes the deal worth it. :)

    • Bee

I have two e-coupons loaded that say $1 off any Reach Floss. Will they work?

I also have an e-coupon saying $2 off 2 Reach toothbrushes.

    • Shayshad

One of our papers coupon inserts (St Louis Post) from a few weeks ago had a b1g1 coupon (exp 1/31) in it also. So the coupons that I have are:

      .50 off 1 (doubled to $1)
      1.50 off 2

      and a 3.00 off 3
So I can get 7 reach toothbrushes for .50

      • Ant0288

it may be better than that depending on your cashier… the actual price is 1.50 so the b1g1 would save you a $1.50 and not a dollar making up for the 1.50 off 2 not being 2 free. so 7 all free.

      • Lasmith9454

Does Kroger allow B1G1 q to be used with the 50c q?

        • Ant0288

yes. the 50 cents is off one, the b1g1 is considered off just the free one. so you can use a coupon on the one you are buying (but cannot use two b1g1 and pay nothing for 2 as some ppl seem to want to try)

    • Maria

Ok, the coupon in my SS 1/09 inserts says Buy 3 Save 3, but fine prints says Buy 1 listerine antieptic mouthwash 500ml or larger AND 1 reach toothbrush AND 1 reach floss or reach access flosser. So this coupon would not make 3 reach toothbrushes or flossers free, you still have to buy the Listerine.

      • Lasmith9454

I agree. But Kroger will double the 50cent one here.

        • Maria

I also have the 50c so that will double and be free, also theres one for a kids toothbrush, will also be free is they are included

          • CouponNERD

Maria – where did you find the 50c and kid's toothbrush coupons?

            • Maria

Shayshad, it was in my paper with all the others last week, there was a roll of 4 different ones and the kid one is the last.

      • Danielle

Those are the only ones I have also. I never seem to have the good coupons like these.

        • Lasmith9454

You may need to use a clipper service.

          • Bryarsmom

Or consider increasing the number of papers you buy on a reg basis.
We buy 8-10 and also get them thrown in our driveways each week-full of the inserts!

    • Crystal @ Couponbeat.com

I just add three coupons for this Item on my site http://www.couponbeat.com if any of you need to order some. Here is a list of the coupons I added to my site under Miscellaneous.

B1G1 single Reach Toothbrush exp 1/31/11
B1G1 single Reach Toothbrush up to $3.99 exp 1/31/11
$1/1 REACH Dental Floss or any (1) Reach Access Flosser exp 1/31/11

    • Nichols_again

does this require you buy 10 to get them for $1 each?

      • CouponNERD

You need to buy 10 of the Mega Event Items to get them at this price.

      • Bryarsmom

This is one of the most clever marketing tools Kroger has ever come up with.
You'd be amazed how many unknowing folks think they have to buy 10 margarines or 10 soups to get them for a buck.
You can mix and match any items, totally 10 per deal-just as long as they're featured on the Mega Sale.

    • Angela

Does Kroger limit the number of printable coupons you can use in one visit? I'm a Harris Teeter shopper, and I was wondering if there are any Kroger-specific rules. Thanks!

      • New2qs

Depends on your store. My Kroger only allows 2 “like” internet printed coupons per transaction. There is no limit to the total number of internet printed coupons. HTH.

        • Erin

Mine also only allows 2 like internet ones but there are no limits on newspaper ones

      • katie

Call your store because each Kroger is different. Mine has no limit on web printables or even like coupons (though they reserve the right to cut you off if you are clearing them out). I was able to use 6 coupons for cheese today–4 printable and 2 from the paper. I'm so used to shopping at HT, I felt like I was doing something wrong. :P

      • Debbie

They didn't used to but now my Kroger only lets me use two coupons from the same manufacturer.

    • AshATL

FYI, My Kroger (Atlanta on Howell Mill Rd.) had a cart full of Mirra bath poufs for 25 cents each!

    • Lee

The advertised deals were enough to makeme quiver lol! Hunts tomatoes $.19 a can!!

      • Bryarsmom

Don't forget how we recently carted home all the great FREE Muir Glen tomato products-deal was running for weeks here in our Atl Publix stores :)
And the tomato paste was a MM!

      • Lauren

Are the hunt's tomatoes at Kroger?

        • Katkoupon

Mine had about 6 different kinds of Hunt's tomatoes. awesome.

    • Fgavent

Don't forget about the $1 off Reach floss Kroger E-coupon. I loaded it about a month ago. I do not see it is available now to load.

    • lara

The 3/3 coupon says “toothbrush,AND floss, AND mouthwash so it didn't work

    • Lamontagnesgirl

Are the Reach kids brushes included?? Fill me in

      • Danagee

the kids brushes were not included at my store, just a certain type of adult ones were.

    • Lkmc88

Does the Reach toothbrush $1 price come up automatically? Or do you need to inform the cashier?

      • Ant0288

its on sale for 1.50 (rings up 1.50), but if you buy 10 mega event items, you save 5 dollars… making each toothbrush 1 after the discout is averaged out over the 10 items…

    • Shannon

I can't wait to read about the other deals. Thanks Jenny.,

    • ireneY

Anyone else checked out the sale and found additional items? Saw Kettle chips included in sale for $.99 after discount. I KNOW there's an unexpired insert Q somewhere, but can't seem to locate it!!

      • Mel

Use the coupon database–just type in what you're looking for. It's awesome! (Top right of Southernsavers page)

    • Couponshandy

This is random but does anyone know where to buy marcal toilet paper in GA? I bought a bunch of Q's on ebay like an idiot – because now I cant find anywhere that sells it?

      • Kris

My Ingles store carries the marcal toilet paper, however, they do not carry single rolls, the have the 4 pack. I live in Carrollton, GA.

        • Couponshandy

OK thanks. that is one place I haven't looked but we do have an ingles. Appreciate it!

      • Maria

        Publix in Chattanooga carries it.

      • Musiclady0110

I have been looking for the same product!!! Anyone know where you can find it in Alabama??

      • Mandi

I know Bi-Lo and Food Lion sells it but it's not usually under $1.

      • Katkoupon

Go to the website Marcal Small Steps dot com and look in the top right-hand corner “Find a store”. Punch in your zipcode and it will show you which local stores carry this product. In my area, only Bi-Lo and Food Lion carry these. My cpn says limit one per visit, so I grab 1 roll of paper towels each time I go (normally $1.19, so $.19 + tax). The 4-pks of tp are $1.49. They don't have the single rolls at my store.

    • Danagee

I got 3 toothbrushes & 4 flossers for .50 each. Then used the Electrasol coupons (save $2.25 and save $1) because they were included in the mega event.

      • Kimmycollett

which coupons did you use for the toothbrshes–my 3/3 looks like you have to buy toothbrush, flosser, and listerine???

        • Lasmith9454

There is a 50c q that will work. I don't think the 3/3 will work either. Another post said it did not. the 50c q is on the same page of my 3/3 q. HTH

    • Maria

Did Jenny ever post the rest of the unadvertised deals?? I cant find them.

      • Ezerowner

I can't find it either….hopefully she updates soon!

    • Amylc1980

I was just wondering if you all thought the progresso soup was a good deal. I have coupons for 1.00 off 4. I am buying 20 cans for 15.00. I am new to using coupons.

      • Katkoupon

My personal stock-up price on good soup is 50 cents. I never pay more than 75 cents ea, so I think you did good.

      • Dee

Progresso soups are going on sale really cheap AT THE MOMENT. But I have gone into grocery stores that had them stock piled up like the deal of the century marked at 2.50 a can SALE PRICE! If you like the soup, its a pretty decent deal! We had them recently where I work at 1.50 a can and then you would get $1 coupon back towards your next purchase per each can you bought making them .50 cents a can! And that was before you combined coupons with them. You guys need to check out Rite Aids deals if you have any nearby!

    • Mel

This deal was posted yesterday afternoon and already there is not one toothbrush or floss left. Just because you have 10 or however many coupons doesn't mean you have to use them all at once. I am tired of seeing greedy couponers taking all the products, other people want these deals too. I go to stores and see carts with 20 or more of the same product in buggie, everyone needs to think of others, everybody needs to get some good deals. Deals cycle back around, just get a couple of what you want and everyone can get some.

      • Amanda in Greeneville

It is sometimes unfair..only good thing about Kroger's mega deals is that it last 2 weeks, plus they'll sometimes give you a raincheck for the price after $5.00 discount so you don't need to buy 10 items when you go back to buy them.

      • I don't find this as much at my Kroger as I do at my Publix. Some people must be REALLY greedy there. Items are wiped out often the SAME DAY the ad is posted!

        • Dee

I manage a small store and let me tell you guys that things we would never sell fly out the door when great coupons come out. Problem is when youre ordering things a month or more in advance for a sale, there is no way of knowing what coupons will be coming out. It makes it very hard! I want to increase my sales so I would love to know as I order so that I could have plenty! By the time I know what coupons are out I have to manually order, and then its hit or miss depending on what our distribution centers have on hand.

      • Mlbam6

Why is everyone always accusing greedy couponers. How many people use this site and how much of a product (especially personal care) are actually in the store. Maybe 10 people bought toothbrushes and floss before you and there were only 20 on the shelf. That is only 2 per person. Not always greedy customers a lot of times it is supply on hand.

    • ireneY

If you all are on pins and needles just waiting for unadvertised list, check out iheartkroger. It's all there!

    • bigmama8

Sometimes buying 10 toothbrushes isn't greedy. I have 8 children, so 10 toothbrushes is a perfectly reasonable amount! Maybe there are large families near you. Just be glad to get a raincheck to use later for FREE stuff instead of judging people you have never met! Getting things for free is a privilege, not a right. If you value toothbrushes more than human beings, you have issues!

    • Mel

Obviously you didn't understand my comment. This deal was being used as an example of some couponers going to far. The comment was about us all sharing in the deals. Im sure most of us on these sites do this to save money for our families, but many are taking it to extremes. I don't even know what you are talking about me valuing toothbrushes over human beings, that's an extreme response.

    • Trish

Does anyone else out there have issues with Kroger's new coupon policies? For some reason, whenever I use coupons there I am treated like some kind of a criminal. So today I went to my local Kroger and purchased 4 toothbrushes, and 6 flossers. I had 10 $1 off coupons that I planned on using. The toothbruses rang up $2.22 each and then the flossers rang up also at $2.22 each. with the $5.00 Kroger savings, and purchasing 10 of these, it did make each item $1.00. For some reason the cashier could not understand how to scan the $1.00 off coupons. He kept telling me that his system would not allow for me to be given cash back. I told him over and over that the items were $1.00, and the coupons were for $1.00 off. I knew that I wasn't getting overage as I don't believe Kroger allows you to have overage. After arguing with him for several minutes he then called his supervisor over. She also could not figure out the coupons. Finally, I just told them to forget the items and to give me the coupons back. The manager then mumbles under her breath to the cashier, “oh, just go ahead and ring them in as $1.00. What? Are you kidding me? Why is this so hard to understand for them. If they don't want to run the stupid promotions then so be it but don't punish the rest of us because we want to use a coupon on top of the so called great Kroger stock up prices. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I was just curious.

      • gwhiz

Yes, I have experienced a similar problem with coupons – I use the Kroger on Two Notch in Columbia, SC. I was told that I could not use e-coupons and manufacturer coupons together and was handed back my coupons. I had two friends that used both types of coupons together that day. I asked why it worked for some people and not others and was told that it depended on the cashier and if they overrode the coupons. I told them they needed to have one policy – it's ridiculous!

        • Dee

It actually is their policy to not take ecoupons with coupons. If you click on the more icon on the Krogers ecoupon site it states that. But they always take mine. I buy so much though its d near impossible for them to keep up lol.

          • cathrine

I have done this aswell and it used to work for me but look at it when your done it will not use your e-coupons anymore they have updated the systems.

        • Dee

Dont complain about them having one policy or they will. Just remember that jerky cashier and dont go thru their line again. Pick a different one next time and get to use all your coupons. :D

      • Dee

I have been lucky to not have had to deal with this. But I hear about it from my customers a lot. And here is what I tell them. People who act that way are ignorant. They are ignorant of the fact that YOU are giving them job security by increasing their sales. Maybe even a little jealous that youre getting such a great deal. Think its too good to be true and therefore cannot be right. Instead of joining you like a smart person would they choose to be rude and stupid. Do not take their personality defects personally Take names and call corporate if someones rude to you. And Ill leave it at that before I get really ugly lol. .

      • Lolly

I had the same problem yesterday. I was trying to use the pita chips coupons/bagle chips that were up to $3.99 off and the cashier refused to let me use them. She said that they dont take coupons over $2. Wh dot? Really? I did not see that any where in there policy. She kept giving me grief so I said to just take them off. I then left and called the store and asked the coupon policy. Yes I was right they do take them. Should I say anything about the cashier to customer service. She was very rude about it and did not even know the rules. Why I love publix so much more. Walked right over and go the free chips no problem!

      • Debbie

My Kroger will now only take two of any coupon so at least they were going to let you get 10 but it is so frustrating to be treated like you are doing something wrong. I get so embarrassed when it happens to me.

    • Linda

I went to Kroger yesterday all excited ,with my printed list. They had no reach toothbrushes and the cereal was 3.49 a box. Does it matter which Kroger you go to?

    • Linda

Sorry,I meant to say also, that with my two prescprictions($25.00 each free groceries)and my three deals and my coupons I bought $130.00 of groceries for $22,58.The lady behind me said “you bought all that for 22 dollars. It was so worth taking the time to go on you site. Thanks!

    • Lauren

My kroger had colgate toothbrushes on sale instead of reach :(
But still got lots of other goodies my best buy was the hunt tomatoes for .17 a can :)

    • SEM

Got three of these today for free! I'm so excited.
