I knew there would be a ton of additions to this weeks cleaning supplies mega event. At least Kroger is predictable in their lack of advertising…

This is the full list of Household Mega Event items, both advertised and unadvertised. There are also a few other things I spotted in the store. I was a different Kroger that barely had any closeout deals advertised, so if you spot any more leave comments so we all know what to look for.

Don’t miss all the advertised deals this week at Kroger.

    • Nancy

I read on another site that the household cleaners mega sale going on now requires SEPARATE transactions for each set of 4 in order to save $4.

      • Ijanders

Yes, I had to do separate to get more than one. Also the tags on the items say buy 4 get $10 off. Then in small print across the bottom of the tag they say “when you buy 10”. Someone making the tags used the megaevent template, oops.

        • ctyankee

          I meant buy 4 get $4 off.

      • Brandyp23

Yeah I was there earlier and got 2 of the deals but only got $4 off! I didn't realize it til I got home!! I wasn't very happy that I didn't check my reciept earlier!! This couponing stuff is always a learning process!!

        • AshATL

I have started checking before leaving the store. A few weeks ago, my Kroger cashier skipped a bunch of my coupons. He went so fast, and if they didn't scan, he just kept going. Ugh, Kroger. Anyway, I had to get my coupons from him and get it sorted out at customer service. I got almost $10 back!

      • Jnn_horan

You've gotta be kidding me…now they're trying to nickel and dime us to death on top of no doubling, no tripling, no stacking….what next!!!

        • Nichole_michele

wow! Do you think when they do the buy 10 get $5 off we will have to buy in seperate transactions too? I usually get 4 or so deals. That would suck..

          • Laura

I'm a cashier at Kroger and usually for the buy 10 save $5 events, if you buy 20 items, $10 will come off at the end of your order. Unless they've changed it since the most recent event, that's the way it usually works.

            • Mommy2Boys

That's how it has worked for me in the past. I've never had to do separate transactions

        • shops2much

I think they are trying to keep the shelves from being cleared out, so more people can take advantage of the sale…I hate when someone takes everyone of the sale items and for the next few days, no one can get anything.

    • Hzsvnt

this is not a household item but wanted to let you know that if use the $1 bailey's creamer, it will be only .34 cents.. they also have the little pop out coupon on the door of the cooler where they store the creamers.. just a FYI…

    • scarieusc

I also found the Kroger brand napkins 120 count on closeout for $.64! They are most likely coming out with new designs, but I will take it!

    • Spoony4u09

is there a limit on howmany 4.00 perk's you can get?

      • Dianne L

    • LM

Can you really do the Kool Aid packet deal using all three of those coupons? It says to use the Buy 10 get 5 free coupon with (2) 50 cents off if you buy 5. Wouldn't that be using 3 Manufacturer's coupon for the same group of items? (10 packets). Please explain, if it works that would be a great deal!

      • Tkb070704

I agree….I think thats coupon fraud.

        • Lawsonaba

          Coupon fraud?? Don't be silly.

You are allowed to use a coupon on every item you purchase, right? So you use the B10G5 on five of the packets. Then you use a $0.50/5 on another 5 packets. Then another $0.50/5 on the last five packets. Each group of 5 gets a coupon. Quite simple and not at all fraud!

          • AshATL

Yes, the manufacturer reimburses the store for everything. This may not be how the manufacturer or store intended the coupons to be used, but this method of combining them satisfies the rules. Fraud is a very loaded word to throw around – this is not fraud, just being a smart consumer.

      • Jnn_horan

It is, but you're using the (2) .50 q (which doubles) on the 10 that you're purchasing.

        • LM

So then technically the Buy 10 get 5 coupon is applied to the 5 free? Is that how I'm able to use 3 coupons? :)

          • Yep, you got it. The Buy 10, get 5 Free coupon is the coupon for 5 of them but you are still allowed coupons on the 10 that you are still buying. So using (2) .50/5 coupons then becomes the coupons for the 10 other items.

(Like a coupon for a free bodywash wyb a deodorant – the coupon is for the bodywash and you are still allowed a coupon on the deodorant)

            • LM

Awesome, thank you so much Jenny! That makes sense :)

            • APees

I'd tried a similar transaction but they said i couldn't. it was for the air wick refills, i had 3 B1G1 coupons then 3 $1.50 off coupon. they said that B1G1 coupon is for two items and that i can't use 2 coupons for one item. also not knowing that i can only do 1 buy 4 get $4 off i didn't get my other $4 off, because it was after 10pm i couldn't get a refund on them, it's all going back tomorrow! And this is the kroger in Hiram, GA. Also target in Hiram, GA told me the same thing, but it was over air wick plug in warmers. I'm really starting to love my publix in Powder Springs, they still except compet. coupons!

            • Laura

The Kroger in Hiram, GA closed about a month ago… are you talking about the one on Ridge Rd (technically Douglasville)? Because I've never had any problems there using a BOGO and a $/1 coupon together… guess it just depends on the cashier.

            • APees

No, not that one,i heard it closed because of it being dirty and it was an older one. But the one up up ahead by Chat. Tech., by hwy 61. Now that i think about it, i think that's a dallas store.

            • Maria

Had the same problem today, got 3 candy bars, used a b2g1 and a 1/2, she wouldnt take the 1/2, said the one coupon covered all 3, she got to take them right back off, if this is the way they are gonna be, i will go elsewhere, but when did all of this start?

      • Gillyp3864

These would be good for donating to a food pantry but i'd never let my kids drink this stuff :(

    • Momto3

Do I have this right? . . . . . if I buy 4 Windex Class Cleaners at $1.49 and use 4 $1 off coupons, that makes it $1.96 for all 4. Do I then get $4 taken off automatically? That makes it a $2.04 money maker! Is this correct? Sounds too good to be true.

      • Mary

I think $1.49 is the price AFTER the $4 off. That is usually how she lists them.

      • Jnn_horan

Prices shown are after the savings….so .49 ea.

      • Sara Kathryn

No I don't think that is correct the prices listed are after the four dollars off. HTH!!

    • Jnn_horan

So where's the deals here, especially when you can get all this stuff at Wags and Cvs much cheaper or free!!!!!

      • Missy

One more note…I visited Kroger today and bought what I thought was 5 of these $4 off 4 deals. Well upon checking out I noticed my $4 only came off my receipt once. So I took my receipt to customer service and showed them and explained what happened. They then informed me that I should had done each one in separate transactions. they said you can't do them all in the same transaction. They did reimburse me the $16 that I was owed but told me next time to do each one separate and upon leaving I overheard them telling the cashiers what they had just told me. What is Kroger thinking????????

        • Sheeba

OMG. Kroger is getting to be too much of a hassle to try and use coupons to get a deal. I tell you what they're thinking. It's too much work for them to redeem coupons and they want to make it hard on us poor working people trying to save a dime. Kroger has always been my favorite place to shop but I'm having to rethink that now. I have had to go to customer service several times in the last month because my deals or e-coupons did not work. Wonder how many people don't look and Kroger pockets the profit.

          • Bryarsmom

            Fortunately we still have Publix.
No monkey business and still have their great BOGO deals.

            • Missy

Lucky you…where I live my choices are very limited..Kroger, Food Lion, and Wal-Mart…I really wish we could get a Publix around here. I alway hear great things about them.

        • amy

This happened to me last night….I bought 6 of these $4 off 4 deals and it came off only once and the customer service was closed so they told me to come back today…Also I noticed that 4 of my coupons didn't come off and two of them were high value….I figured it up and I was out $29 which defeated the whole purpose of going in there and using the coupons…I've always loved and trusted Kroger but I'm getting frustrated.

          • Missy

I agree…I came home and really thought about this and can not for the life of me figure out why they are doing this. Maybe they are in hopes it will frustrate people and they won't buy as much, I don't know, but it seems to me if you have to do separate transactions it is going to hold up the checkout lines and just make things worse for everybody!

    • Laura

So today is supposed to be the last day of their March to Savings game…I went to play for the last time. I haven't won anything the entire game.

Anyway, I clicked the page to play…and it says “sorry this game ended 4/4.” Uh….today is 4/3.

      • Lkelley

I havent won anything there past two games!!! Stinks…. went on and played almost everyday.

    • Jillmaek

when it says “prices reflect savings” what does that mean?

      • Cynthiadcowan2326

Say the sale is 4 dollars off of 4 items. On ur recipt it will show the prices of those items 1 dollar cheaper than they should be. It does not show 4 dollars taken off at the end.

        • Jillmaek

ok so for each item she has taken off an extra dollar? is that right?

      • Liz

the prices Jenny listed next to each item above already reflect the $4 savings you'll recieve from Kroger.

    • Stacielovescoupons

Gas anyone been able to find the shortcuts ecoupon for scrubbing bubbles??? I can't find it! :(

    • Mlm82lmm04

I knew we could. Use Bogo coupons with another at coupon at drug stores but never have with a grocery store. Does this work at krogers with no problem? What about other grocery stores.( Walmart, target, etc)

      • lanie

It has always worked no problem for me. And I shop at Kroger a lot. Of course, someone might object, so it is a YMMV situation, but I think it's legit to do.. unless you have a dictator type cashier – it should be fine.

    • Justinsmommu

Krogers no longer allows the use of ecoupon with a manuf. coupon (paper). The register would not allow the cashier to process the paper coupon if there was an ecoupon. I was told by customer service that this was a new policy because Kroger realized they were losing alot of money. I really only shopped Kroger when I could get great deals with the combination of coupons.

      • Griffingirl69

I noticed that the last time I went to:( our store just changed because I was in 2 days before this last time and they took both as usual…I took a lot of the e coupons off my card that I had higher value paper coupons for

        • Shavon

Me too!!! I wonder if they noticed people doing this and are trying to use these B1G1 to tempt us back to using more of the ecoupons.

          • Bee

Be careful. Some of the new e-coupons will not give you the best deal if they will not also allow paper coupons on some of the items.

    • nascarcutie07

You can not use a b1g1 coupon that's a manufacture coupon and money off manufacture coupons its double dipping and not allowed I know that for a fact ! I was a cashier at kroger for three years !

      • Ipreferpublix

You cannot use a bogo and a x/2 on two products, but you CAN use a bogo and a x/1 coupon. Unless the bogo coupon states it cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupon.

You are using the x/1 coupon to partially pay for the qualifying item, then the bogo coupon to get the second one for free.

A coupon is a form of payment, and you are using the x/1 coupon to pay (or partially pay) for the first item, then that item is the one you pay for, getting a second free with a bogo coupon.

I'm sorry, but just because you are a cashier doesn't mean you understand how coupons work. I have been couponing for over four years and I encounter clueless cashiers every day.

        • nascarcutie07

To use the b1g1f coupon you have to buy two items with a manufacture coupon so If you use another coupon coupon its stacking because you have to purchase 2 items to use that 1 b1g1f coupon. If your store allows it by all means I just know mine doesn't !

          • Melissa

I got in somewhat of a heated argument with a cashier over this and really felt like it hurt my Christian witness. I don't think money is worth the emotions that go along with trying to get the deals sometimes. I had a B1G1 and a $ off of 1. I didn't see the deal. I was getting $off the one I bought and getting the other free but she threw a big fit, made me take things back and put them on the shelf, she ended up calling the manager, and I just ended the transaction and walked out. If Kroger starts getting too nasty about coupons, Wal-Mart is right next door which just changed their coupon policies for the better. Walgreens let's you stack store and manufacturer coupons and so does Target. Kroger is going to lose out on customers, unfortunately.

          • lawman

At Kroger you are buying two when it's a B1G1 and you purchase them both. The B1G1 at Kroger is not a true B1G1… you actually only have to buy 1 to get the savings… it's really a buy one at half off. So you ARE actually buying two items at half off, not a true B1G1 like you would get at a CVS or Walgreens.

The Kroger stores in my area are awful at informing their cashiers and customers on the correct coupon policy. It appears that nascarcuties' store is the same.

        • JennyBmom

WOW! I agree 1000% with Ipreferpublix!!!!! Very well spoken! Can you please train all of those clueless cashiers to make our lives as couponers so much easier?!!! :)

          • nascarcutie07

The clueless cashiers learn from their managers policies ! I look at it like its a privilege I get to use coupons and dont want to loose it ! Ive been couponing for 6 years not just a cashier ! I responded to this because my store doesn't allow it so not all stores will allow you to use them and wanted people to know that's it !

            • Lanie

I accidentally “liked” your comment, but realized it was an uneducated. It is a part of A LOT of stores coupon policy to accept both a $off & a B1G1.. if it wasn't legit, why would it be a part of their policy? I've never been turned down doing it at Kroger.

As someone else said – the $ off is paying for the item you're buying.. while the B1G1 is paying for the item that is free.

It is totally legit and I've been doing it for years.

            • lanie

Okay wait.. I actually think it will not work. The reason being is that you're not paying for the FREE WARMER. You're paying for the scented oils.. if there is a scented oil coupon, then you can use it in conjunction with the B1G1. You can use a $ off against the item that you're purchasing – not the freebie..

So a $off of the scented oils should work with a BOGO..

But a $off of the warmer is not correct usage.. although it probably will sail through depending on the coding.

        • Annatanksley

AMEN,AMEN ! Cashier need to take a reading comprehension class about how to under stand the wording on coupons and don't let it be a picture on the coupon ! If the item don't look like the picture, they say you can't use it.

      • Shinne6

Yes- I was told the same thing this weekend. Never knew that before. Thanks Nascarcutie

    • The Kashi Berry Blossoms cereal was on sale at one of the Kroger stores in Macon, GA. It was $2.99, then I had a $1 off IP. That made for a great deal!

    • Kim Bonzo

At my Kroger store in Russell, Ky they would only allow one of the 4.00 for 4 Mega Events per transaction. I had to return 12 items and do it in three more seperate transactionsl I'm about to get tired of Kroger and just shop where they don't make things so difficult. Doesn't seem like they are really into keeping couponers business!

      • Donna091960

True, I wish that the manager would step up and rally for the store!
Manufacturers reimburse them for the coupons, they may not have to double the 50 cent and less coupons, but at least accept the MQ's. Oh well, Walmart will price match, that is a plus

    • Savage

I went to the Kroger in Woodstock, Ga and in order to get the $2.99 price for the Glade Oil Plug-In refills, you have to buy 10. Otherwise the price is $3.99 which is still a good price. Not sure why that was not explained.

    • Ardnasfu82

Just a heads up- I went to Kroger today to grab some lunch and wanted to let you guys know that I found a rack of Snuggies- the blue one was marked down to $3.75 from $14.99. I grabbed one since I've been holding out getting one- but secretly wanting a snuggy!! LOL- not secret anymore!

    • Chloe's Mom

ok question. the airwick freshmatic refills 3.49. if i grab (4) AND i have (2) b1g1 free coupons is that going to count as my four items and give me these four refils for 2.98? also the freshmatic starter kit at my store in durham was 5.99 with the b4 deal.

      • Laura

The $3.49 is after the $4 discount (she takes $1 off each item to reflect this) so if you bought 4 it would be something like this:

        4 Airwick refills @ 4.49 = 16.96
        -2 Airwick refill BOGO qs (@ 4.49) = 8.98
        -$4 when you buy 4 items = 4.98

and if you have $1.50 q as well then you can use those on the 2 you are paying full price for:

        4 Airwick refills @ 4.49 = 16.96
        -2 Airwick refill BOGO qs (@ 4.49) = 8.98
        -$4 when you buy 4 items = 4.98
        -2 Airwick refill $1.50 off = 1.98

Your store should give you the full sale price for the value of the BOGO coupons not the amount after the $4.00 because its supposed to be $4 off your TOTAL ORDER, not off the individual items. If they don't I would argue it. HTH

        • Chloe's Mom

ohhhh…so true…idk why i was trying to give myself the 4 dollar discount twice…lol…guess i was really excited about the starter kits i got for so cheap…thnx

    • Krogershopper

I'm sorry – I wasn't sure how else to contact you. What is your policy on sharing the information on your blog on other websites? Thank you!

    • Cw

kroger isn't doubling internet printed coupons even if they are 50 cents or under here..only newspaper coupons will double here in va …..they won't double if it says do not double…all this is new because they used to …so the game continues…..and the shopping might happen elsewhere

    • Rosieluvscouponing

FYI, I'm from Gwinnett County in Georgia and I found chicken breasts (with ribs in and skin on) for $0.99/lb. at my Kroger!

    • Ijpanko

publix has a smart and easy spring cleaning booklet that has over 30$ worth of SC Johnson products including the Scrubbing bubbles aerosol coupons, one is 2$ off 2 and the other is 3$ off 3, plus other coupons that are great for this unadvrtised sales.

    • Mimi

I had 4 coupons for $l.50 off Lysol Neutra Air Spray so got it free!

    • Mathisi

just a heads up. tried using b1g1 and a $1.50 q on the airwic freshmatic refills and a b1g1 and $1 q on the swiifer dusting spray today. the cashier would not accept them said the computer would not accept both. since when has kroger added this stipulation? i have done this alot before and told the cashier this. her reply was that the cashiers who took them before needed to stop doing it

      • Maria

I had the same problem today, this stinks! What is the deal with kroger? Looks like im gonna have to start passing them by.

        • nicole

I think it may have been the order in which you used the q. i had the same problem Walmart. The manager told me to make sure I handed over the $$ off before the Bogo. Because if the Bogo comes off first it looks as though both items have have been covered by a Q but if you hand over the $$ off first it doesn't do that.

    • lizzzzza

These new rules sound like a nightmare. I think there are just more people using coupons so they were probably losing too much money doubling too many coupons. I have to buy a lot of gluten free products and have found that Amazon has amazing prices without using coupons when you use the subscribe and save (on some items). Costco also has some amazing prices on natural/organic items. I still grab the deals I can get at Kroger and Publix with my coupons because I like to keep a stockpile for when money runs low. I don't get megadeals as often like I used to, but whatever I can save certainly helps.

      • Missy

I used the exact same coupons today for the Airwick and the cashier took them no problem. I think along with Kroger trying to make couponing hard on us some of these cashiers are making their own rules up along the way as well. You would think the money was coming out of their pocket.

    • Eastonsmommy88

When does/did this sale end ?

      • 2kiddosmommy

At our Kroger the sales run from Sunday to Saturday, so this sale ends on Saturday, April 9. Just depends on when your store runs it sales as to when it will end but it should be going on now. (I'm in Cookeville, TN). HTH :)

        • Eastonsmommy88

Thank you ! Ill be rushing there tonight :)

    • Debbie in GA

I've just returned from Krogers after shopping the buy 4 get $4 off megadeal. Just a warning; they are apparently counting the Megadeal $4 off as an e-coupon or a manufacturers coupon. What this meant to me today as I purchased 8 Airwick items, all with B1G1 or $1 or $4 off manufacturers coupons, was that my last 2 $4 off MCoups were not accepted. The assistant was quite rude to me despite my very polite inquiry as to what had changed. She told me that the rules had changed and that it was people like me (using coupons) that had caused the rules to be changed!! My blood pressure was rising but I bit my tongue and walked out with a smile!
Here's what I will do next time: Make sure that the larger $ coupons are run first when doing a Megadeal so that if you reach the limit,it'll only be the small coupons that won't be allowed.
I went onto Publix after this encounter and was met with smiley faces, great attitudes, incredible savings (over 76% this week) and to top it all off the cashier actually congratulated me on saving so much!! It IS a pleasure to shop there!

      • Eastonsmommy88

Had the almost the same thing happen to me tonight. I wanted to purchase 5 lysol air spray, I had 5 coupons and I would have gotten them for free. But was told that I could only use 1 coupon for the 5. So I had them take back all my items and ended up getting only one of each. I told the lady that the new change was ridiculous and she literally told me to go to Publix. Urgh so frustrating. This policy change is BY FAR the worst EVER ! Will not be shopping at Kroger anymore.

      • Debbie Too in GA

I am also a “Debbie Too in GA” and I could have written this myself. Living in a small town where Kroger is literally within walking distance to Publix. That being said, Kroger doesn't seem to care and even encourages folks to “head on over to our competition”. I've even seen Kroger employees (not in uniform) shopping at Publix. Guess they can't use their coupons either. Glad to know it is not just small towns.
