How do you get the Kroger My Magazine? I’m a Kroger plus member but have never gotten anything from them in the mail. Thanks

      • Jenny

Head over to Kroger.com and sign up for a “My Kroger” account on their site. Give them your address again and you should start to receive mailers.

      • Michelle

I signed up for Kroger’s mailing list a long time ago and have never received anything from them. I even called and checked to see if they had all the correct information. From what she said not everyone gets the mailers each time. She also said it has to do with how much you spend there or how regularly you shop there. I don’t shop there every week just when they have really good deals so maybe that’s why I never get their mailers.

        • Beth

I also signed up over a year ago and never got anything, and I shop there almost every week (and used to spend a ton of money before I started couponing). I don’t know what the problem is. I was going to try getting a new kroger card and then signing up online with that one.

          • Jen

That’s a good idea- I haven’t gotten a single home mailer either (and I’ve had the same Kroger card for 13 years). I’m going to sign up for a new one this week!

            • Karen

I rarely shop at Kroger and often get the magazine. I spend very little money there and suspect this is why they send me the mailer, trying to entice me to spend more. I think if you spend a lot there, don’t expect to get the mailer! They already have you as a customer!

      • Jane

I just called and asked and here is what they told me. You have to spend more than 2000$ a year in groceries and then you are put on a rotating list not everyone on the list will receive the magazine. And the coupon mailers are sent out depending on what you have bought and in the past year. they come out every 3mths and since that list is also rotating you may get some or you may not.

    • Margie

I hate to ask a stupid question, but – is there anything sketchy about previously frozen meat?

      • Brittney

If it is seafood, like shrimp or crab, it can make them mushy when cooked, but it is safe to eat.

      • Mina

For many things, particularly when it’s seafood, like the Snow Crab legs, previously frozen is good because it’s *fresher* than the never frozen. It is frozen onboard the ship, very shortly after being harvested. Handling of frozen seafood and meats is also more sanitary, and safer for the consumer.

I do prefer STILL frozen to “previously frozen”, but the “previously” version is fine.

    • ACW

Heads-up on the General Mills cereals… they have a wide variety included in the $4/4 promotion, but only a select few are $2.50. I noticed tonight that there are three or four flavors of Cheerios, the Cocoa Puffs, and the Cookie Crisp available for $2.50… and with the promotion and $1/2 coupons, I grabbed eight boxes at a buck apiece. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Kix end up being about $2.50 *after* the promotion, so even with a paper coupon and an e-coupon worth 55c each, it came out to about $1.40 a box. :)
Also, RE: the Theraflu… my store had some of the liquid varieties on sale for $3.50… so with the e-coupon and paper coupon, you could get it for free! (Our paper ran a $1.50 coupon, not the $2 version.)
Thanks so much for this list. We are sufficiently stocked!

    • Margaret

There is a manufacturer coupon in the Publix Winter Family Savings Flyer for $1 off a Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese block. That makes it free at Kroger this week.

    • tonya

THere is a new “Winter” savings book at Publix that has a $1.00 off Philadelphia cream cheese coupon in it…which would make it free at Kroger. :)

    • Jessica

I just signed up for Kroger mail and they are terrific about keeping track of the things I have purchased from them the most. I received a package of coupons that included FREE 1-Ocean Spray Cranberry, 1 doz. eggs, 2-Del Monte Vegetables and a pint of Ben & Jerry’s :) along with several other $$/off coupons. I needed to stock up on breakfast goodies today (eggs, milk, oscar mayer bacon and bread) I used my freebies and total was $15 and got a $2 catalina off my next purchase. BTW all 4 doz eggs. had a $.75 of Betty Crocker Cookie mix on them. Can’t beat that…I am so glad to have found Southern Savers…thank’s again Jenny!!!!

      • I received a personalized coupon package from Kroger also…I got FREE Nature Valley, $2/$10 frozen product and many more!!!

        • Nicole

My packet included FREE grape tomatos.Yippee…I use those every week to keep my kids happy while I shop rather than cookies or candy! =)They think they have to go Krogering to have “maynas”

    • Mindy

I’m not too excited about the sale this week. Anyone else feel the same?

      • Debbie

I agree with you Mindy…was hardly worth printing the grocery list for me.

        • Jessica

awww..com’on…not even for the .75/1 BC cookie mix on the eggs?….lol

      • kelli

I agree, I’m not too excited about it either, especially after last week. I probably will pick up some cereal and milk though.

    • looks like we’ll just be picking up some chicken this week.

    • Sam

I went to Krogers today and the cashier told me next week is a Grand Opening sale week……he said there would be great sales.

    • sara

I’m new to this site, someone i met in Kroger actually refered me here! i am 100 percent in love with this site! I’ve already got a binder lol, which was actually on sale at WalMart for $2.50 marked down from $10.87! my first trip to kroger with the coupons, i spent $30.69 and saved $36.70 and this was the last day of the mega sale so pretty much everything was already gone lol. im looking forward to the future trips where i will be able to plan better and get better deals! this site is AWESOME! and like i said, i am HOOKED!!

      • Catherine

Congratulations on finding this site and saving money! Nearly every time I am in a grocery store, someone asks me how I learned to save so much (usually “how did you do that!!??” is how they put it) and I tell them and write it down on a scrap of paper. Maybe I should get some of those free business cards printed up with the website address just to hand out at grocery stores! lol

    • I grabbed the Nestle Toll House cookies for only .45 cents today!! The only other deal I really see that I would like to maybe go back for is the Country Crock Shedd’s spread butter and Kroger brand chips for $1.

    • jamie

they’re tripling through tuesday in nashville, right?

      • Ashley

Yep.. Atleast at the two in Bellevue

    • debbie miller

Major “FYI” to all of you that don’t already know this. I am basically new to all of this great “stuff”. But, for a month now, tried to use my Kroger ecoupons and P&G “esavers” to no AVAIL. I most always do my own “checkout”. Faster and bagged just like I want it. But, when I had a bigger than req’d. basket full I had to go thru the traditional checkout. There, a $4 esaver discount came off my receipt that P&G promised to reimburse me for the mishap of the individual esavers not redeemed.

This happened again with shortcuts ecoupons last week. And cellfire previously who I gave up on when contacting them.

Today I left a message with Kroger corp. and also contacted via email, Shortcuts.com. Shortcuts, immediately sent me an emai that they put a $2.40 general discount, like P&G previously did, back on my card.

Well, then I actually got a call today, Sunday, from Kroger. And for all of you that didn’t realize this, she said the “U Checkout” (doing it yourself)will not read or accept any coupons loaded on the Kroger card. They will only be accepted in the traditional checkout line.

Well, well, well, that certainly clears up ALL OF MY HEADACHES. I hope she knew what she was talking about.

Hope this also helps any of you with problems.

      • Barry

Here in Louisville I always use the self checkout and the ecoupons always come off. Must just be for your specific store or region…?

        • debbie miller

Totally weird. Mine are in Donelson and Hermitage areas of Nashville. I don’t know where the gal was calling from w/Kroger but she didn’t indicate that it was specific to my area.

          • Beth

I’ve read that it might have something to do with the order in which you scan your card while the items are being scanned. Anyone tried scanning it last, and the coupons still come off? I always scan my card first, and they usually come off.

            • anne

You have to scan your card first – to make your ecoupons come off – and that way it should not matter if you use the self check out or regular check out. I usually go through and check out myself just to make sure the card scans properly.

      • I have trouble with coupons coming off my card when I use the traditiona; checkout, so I always use the self checkout

      • kelli

ecoupons come off at my stores (in southwest virginia) when I use the self checkout. I guess I’m lucky because I’ve only ever had one ecoupon not work.

      • Michelle

I am in Sevier county TN and always do uscan and mine always come off with no problems. Just did it this last week mega sale. I wonder if they were just telling you this for whatever reason? I would try doing it again and if it didn’t come off then I would have them cancel the transaction and go through regular checkout.

      • Maria

The only time I have had problems with my ecoupons not coming off my card is if I typed in my alt. ID instead of scanning my card and I always use the self checkout.

    • Anna

At Kroger today, there were $1.00 off 4 peelie coupons on the Philly cream cheese 8oz. bricks!
My cashier today, too, said there would another different big sale happneing next week in addition to the General Mills sale.

    • The California Pizza Kitchen Pizzas are 4.99 this week. I got a catalina that printed out a week or so ago that says buy two between 11/01-11/28 get a $2 off coupon your next order. Buy 3 or more- get a $4 off coupon off your next order. Thought I would share. :)

      • Rose

I bought 3 @ 4.99, had 3 coupons @ 1.00 off and the machine printed out 4.00 off my next purchase!! That makes a 7.49 Pizza…$2.66. I love this site!!

    • Angie G

I have an OT question. I bought an extra turkey last year when Kroger had them really cheap around Thanksgiving. I never got around to thawing it and coking it. So it is still in my freezer. Do you think it will still be good?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

      • kelli

It should be fine. I cooked a turkey that was 2 years old last year and it was delicious!

        • Amy

    • Elizabeth

Kroger question – Do they double the coupons they send to your home – I have $.25 off Kroger cream cheese, if they double it great. If not, it is cheaper to buy it a Aldi.

Thanks for teaching me Obi Wan!

      • kelli

If it’s a manufacture’s coupon, they will double it, up to 50 cents. If it’s a score coupon, it will not be doubled. So, any coupon for a store brand will not be doubled.

Thanks so much Kelli. Definitely not worth using then. Just started couponing and still learning,(but got $150 food for $38 at Publix last week.)

          • Mary

            Wow, Elizabeth, you did great!

    • Had to snag fresh onions/celery for a stuffing I’m making for a potluck this week, but grabbed 2 of the Nestle cookie doughs. 36 cookies for my class tomorrow for only 90-cents! (one 24 pk, one huge 12-pk). Love this site!

I am new at this “game”, too. I wanted to ask about something that happened to me today. I went to Kroger and bought items that were still part of the MegaSale, including some Keebler cookies. I also gave them a coupon for $1.50/2 for said cookies, and they refused it. They said they don’t accept mc over $1.00. Too bad they had just taken the same exact coupon last week! And, in addition to that, I noticed – once home – that they took, today, a coupon that was $2.00/2 items. The manager did show me a paper hanging on a wall full of other dozens of papers that apparently said it was their policy not to accept coupons printed online of a higher value than $1. Is that a common practice at Kroger, or am I just so lucky to have the only Kroger present in town applying this policy?

I have never had this problem before at my Kroger

      • Jennifer

My Kroger won’t take coupon printed of the internet over 1.00 either. It doesn’t bother me though. Many stores won’t take printed coupons period so I take what I can get.

        • Nat

Since Kroger is the only store in town I can use coupons effectively, I could get a bit bothered by the fact that they don’t take internet coupons worth more than $1. Especially if you consider that our sale or non sale prices are far higher than the ones listed here (for example, the 12 oz frozen veggies are $1.25, not $0.88). Plus, I don’t understand why they did take a $2 coupon in the same transaction. I’d be curious to know if Kroger has a blanket policy about it or if every store establishes its own.
Being new at using coupons, I just want to have all my facts straight, I guess.

Thanks for all the info posted here. It truly helps.

Purchased 2 pkgs Oscar Maye Center Cut Bacon B1G1 $2.74 each and got a $2 catalina off my next purchase than you from Oscar Mayer :)

Knoxville area Krogers have pork loin 1.49/lb, the lowest I’ve ever seen it. Got six California Kitchen Pizzas (my husband’s fav) for 2.66 a piece after the internet coupons and catalinas (had to break it up into two transactions). The smaller box of Kix was 2.39 after the $4/4 deal, so with the cell fire and internet coupon it was only 1.09. Got several multigrain cherios (husband’s fav) for only 75c a box with the 75c internet coupons. Definitely worth a stop this week!

    • The Piggly Wiggly in Cullman Al. is now doubling coupons up to .90 cents!!!! I am so excited! I hope you may consider adding the Pig to your site. We appreciate all your hard work!!!!

I heard that Kroger has a deal in certain areas where if you spend $25.00 you can get upto a 24lb Honeysuckle turkey for $11.00. Has anyone heard anything about this?

    • Valerie

Does anybody feel like they get catalina coupons at random for somewhat high dollar amounts? My roommate has gotten three “$5 off you next purchase” coupons in the past month or two. I understand the logic behind enticing a new customer to the store (although that seems unfair to the loyal customers) since she doesn’t spend nearly the amount that I do there, but if there’s a way to get the coupons for myself I would love to try it. If anyone finds themself receiving them, do you have any suggestions?

      Houston Kroger shoppers

My Kroger is offering Jennie O turkeys at 27 cents a pound! I purchased an 18 pounder for under $5! Limit 1 w/ $20 purchase.

The employees told me the turkeys were on sale since Kroger didn’t mail out the free turkey coupon this year. Fortunatly for me, I received a $3 off any meat purchase coupon plus a $10 off a $50 purchase.

The porkloin chops are at 99 cents a pound.

This is off topic …. Kroger $.39lb leg1/4 is a great deal, but my question is …does anyone know if Tyson chicken is “enhansed”? I have to make sure because 2 of my kids have issues with “enhansed” chicken. My nearest Kroger is 35 miles away but worth it for the shopping I could do there this week.
      Thanks for any replies

I have a question about the Nestle Rebate deal.

Is the $15 requirement before or after coupons? If it’s before coupons, I could get a bunch of cheap cookie dough. If you have to actually SPEND $15, I’d just like to make sure I know.

Buy (8) Nestle Cookie Dough @ $1.99 each
Use (8) $1/1 coupons (IP or 11/1 RP)
Total Before Coupons – $15.92 (send in for $5 rebate)
Total Out of Pocket – $7.92
      Net $2.92 or $0.37 each!

      I’d appreciate anyone’s insight!

I know that this is a late response but it’s a really grate idea and an amazing deal if it works. :) I’m going to try it. I think that it should work. Usually you get the full price back, even if you’ve used a coupon.

    • Tasha

I printed out the Shoppers list. How do I get the Actual coupon though??

Today, at a Kroger in metro Atlanta, I purchased 8 Lunchables and got 2 catalinas for $2 (each) off your next purchase of $2 or more. It said “Thank you from Oscar Meyer” and is an MQ that looks similar to a RR from Wags. I’ve never gotten anything like that from Kroger before. I am wondering if $2 will spit out for every 4 lunchables you buy? Or maybe it’s random?

    • The Kroger in Mableton, GA had tangerines for $1.68 a bag!
