I had posted this under Publix, but I think this is a better place…

Not sure where to post this question/suggestion…

Can the in-ad Publix coupon for Duracell batteries be used in conjuction with the Buy 10 Get $5 sale at Kroger this week? My Kroger does take competitor coupons. If so, must buy before Wed/Thurs right?

    • Katherine

In the AJC Kroger ad, The Tyson Boneless skinless chicken breast is $1.69/lb and there is another $1 off Tyson fresh chicken in today’s (7/12) paper

    • Michele

Kroger milk is 1.99 a gallon in Atlanta.

    • Tonya

2 Coupons print out for keebler cookies-1 is for $1.00/1 Keebler Fudge Shoppe Cookies. Print 2 and only pay .49 each pack or if you shop at Publix use 2 $1.00 coupons on their B1G1 for 2.99 and pay .99 for both.

    • Kelly

Shouldn’t there be a pretty good Stayfree deal? My ad shows $2/pack after promotion and there are some bogos and other coupons floating around, aren’t there?

    • Samantha

Go to coupons.com and use zip code 33907 to print 2 $1.50/1 Speed Stick. These are part of the mega event for $1 each, so will give nice overage as well, in addition the .75/1 cellfire.

    • alison

on the chiquita bites there was a coupon on the product for a bogo. so you could actually get two for free.

    • Samantha

In the most recent Home Made Simple booklet, there is a .50/1 Febreze Air Effects to make that deal a bit sweeter

    • Erin

Do you get $5 off for each 10 products you buy, or is it one time per transaction?

    • adri

I don’t really get this, is it an error or am I missing something?

Smart Balance Spread or Butter Blend 12-16 oz $1.49 ea
-$1/2 Smart Balance Buttery Spreads RP 6/21
-$1/2 Smart Balance Buttery Spread printable (makes it .24¢ ea)

I’m assuming both of those are manufactors coupons and I can only use one. This are NOT BOGO (right?) so:

2 Smart Balance Spread $1.49 ea

It would be: 2(1.49)-1=1.98 so you would actually pay 99¢ for each not 24¢

Also, the same thing for the Keebler cookies.

      Adri –
Sorry I copied the coupons from the most recent Publix post and forgot to delete the final price. I’ll fix it right now.

    • Katherine

Yes I bought 20 items and the $5 off showed up twice at the bottom of my receipt

    • AngelathecouponNERD

I believe there is a $1 off 3 Haagen Daaz Ice cream internet printable out there on coupons.com!
      Looking through my IP’s now

    • Samantha

Another item that’s part of the deal but not advertised is the cat treats called Temptations. They are on sale for $1.49 and there are a few .50/1 coupons out there, making them free if they are part of the Mega sale

    • Amy

Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter and YoPlus are also part of the buy 10 get $5 items

    • Leslie

The Speedstick .75/1 cellfire did not match what was on the buy 10 get $5 at my store. The cfire coupon was for the 24/7 type but it was only the regular Speedstick on the deal.

    • adri

Thanks so much for the clarification! And thanks Jenny for the ton of money you help us save!!

    • Baker

Had a great clearance find! Got my $30 printer ink on clearance for 2.99 (got last 2) and they had the Crest and AAA Duracell batteries on clearance so after coupons got those free, plus the batteries were a needed find to be included in the 10 items -$5 because my cereal was sold out. Also paid .24 for a Scotch paper cutter; on clearance for .74 and had .50/1.
But the major deal was my cashier. She was busy, tired, and I’m in the same Kroger every other day so she knows me. The Febreeze antibactial fabris freshener was on clearance for 4.49 and she got confused on the coupons (noticed after I left although I doubt I would have pointed it out)and took off 4.49 for the bogo on the airfreshener plus I got the $1 off on the esaver. bonus!
Then I got the Chex mix free plus overage with coupons but the catalina came out with another $1 off 2 so she said, “Did you get 2 bags of chex mix?” So of course I sais yes and she pulled the coupon off the machine and gave me another $1 off.
If I were one to take advantage I would have grabbed all my unused coupons and let her scan them all and scan her override badge. Okay, no, not really, but she was that out of it today.

My Kroger was offering $ off future purchases on Tombstone (that offer expired today) plus I had (2)$1/2 so I bought 4, paid total OOP $6 something and got back $3 on future purchases.

My receipt didn’t calculate the total savings correctly but it was well over %60.

Thanks for all your guidence on this week’s savings!!

    • Baker

BTW, I bought 20 items and got $10 off. I don’t believe there is a limit.

    • AngelathecouponNERD

Yep – I have several $1 off 3 Haagen Daaz q’s and saw it on coupons.com earlier today.

    • TODAY ONLY in Atlanta region you can get some overage on Kraft cheese. I had .50/1 for the 2% kind, which doubled. Through today there is also a catalina deal, so when I bought 5 I got a cat for $4 off my next transaction! Buy five cheese and five of the other items and you will end up making money off the cheese!

    • oh, and the HD ice cream coupons on coupons.com are for the single-serve 4oz containers, not the 14oz

    • My ad (Knoxville) also has Tressemme hair care products for $3.00 each as part of the Mega Sale.

    • Tracy

is the kroger deal better on Huggies diapers or Rite aid? Help!! I need diapers!!

    • JessR

My Kroger in TN has a huge bin of Colgate toothpaste on clearance for $0.50-1.00. (My 1st one did not ring up correctly, so I got it free!)

    • Samantha

I wonder if the Speed Stick cellfire coupon depends on the store. I checked my receipt and mine came off, even though I did not purchase 24/7.

    • Julie

Samantha, what SpeedStick type did you purchase to get the cellfire to come off. I purchased the men’s irish Spring type and did not get the cellfire Q off. Would like to try another type.

    • Jessica

I just learned about this site im liking the wonderful tips. However, I tried the ecoupons and they did not come off at all. Did I do something wrong?

    • Will the $5/10 items deal continue next week? I know the $3/10 items often does, and I’m trying to formulate my grocery strategy for the next week!

      Thanks, Jenny!

      **Jenny Here**
Looking at the tags yesterday the pull date on all of them was 8/15! It is hard to imagine it running for a whole month but thats what they said.

    • You can also get a -$1.00 coupon for Colgate Total by signing up at Colgate SmileTalk Savings:

    • Andrea

Yes, the $5/10 will last until 7-25. Confirmed by flyer I found in the store.

    • Alisha

I found that flyer too. It lists all the participating products (although it says sizes and varieties vary by store) and says the promo ends 7/25!!

      Does this work?

    • amy sanders

just a heads up, my store (lilburn/stone mtn. georgia) did NOT have the buy 5 kraft cheese and get $4 off next purchase. i bought the shredded 7oz packages that were part of the 10 deal.

    • BAXTER

    • Jasmine

Do they $5 off 10 roll? Say if you didnt do your math as your walking htrough the store and got 26 items instead of 30:) Would I only have to buy 4 more to get an additional $5 off?

    • The Speed Stick and Softsoap could be FREE plus overage! Hip2Save’s blog has a post about some zip codes on Coupons.com that are getting a $1.50 off any Speedstick coupon and $1 off any SoftSoap hand soap.

    • Kristin

Question: I got a mailer today for $5/50 from Gerbes (Kroger affiliate in MO) and wondered if I could use it before coupons…it does say ‘after all discounts are applied’ but I would think that means after the shopper card. Maybe I have too loose an interpretation. I trust your ethics and love your blog (your Kroger ad cycle is a few days before mine so I get a preview of what’s coming up on sale), especially a matchup like this where I can get info on unadvertised items, few other blogs do that.

Anyway, let’s say my total before q’s is over $50 but my total after would be less than that? What would you think about using this 5/50 q?

      • Jenny

As lnog as you put it on the top of the stack it should come off first. Usually it will say after coupons if that is truly what they want. Why would the coupon amount matter anyway since they are going to get their money back for those!

    • Brenda

The Healty Choice meals were marked up for this sale. Up until last week the set price at my kroger was $1.88. They are now $2.29 which makes them 1.79 each after the buy 10. It’s still an OK price after the coupon but would have been a much better deal had they not marked them up.

    • Kristin

Thanks, I have some coupons for Hyvee that are like that and always use them on my ‘before’ total but there is almost no exclusionary wording on them so I just go for it.

I can usually get over $50, with milk and produce, but if I don’t have to that would be best! Thanks for the input.

    • Michele

There is a coupon in Kroger “My Magazine- Ready to Grill?” for $1.00 of 2 packages of Sargento Shred Cheese making it 0.99 each

    • I bought five of the kraft cheeses and a catalina did not print. Does anyone know if that is a regional thing or if it just didn’t print? Thanks!

    • DeAnn

Jasmine–Yes you would need 4 more to get the next $5. I was at Kroger this afternoon and was trying to ask for help knowing how many participating items I had purchased, since I had lost count and had a lot more than just participating items. Well the cashiers didn’t really know. I figured it out after I got home. There is a (+) next to each participating item on your receipt. Ask the cashier to print your recpt before you pay, you can either count hem, or it may total at the very bottom. I had 35 items. If I had known that, I would have grabbed 5 more Vitaminwaters.

    • Emily

Just an FYI the Kroger in Canton,GA marked their Tyson Chicken breasts that are normally .99 cents a pound to 59 cents a pound. It was marked Manager’s Special. Not sure how long they are going to do it but with the $1 off coupon I paid 94 cents for over 3 lbs!

    • savingfrenzy

Does anyone know how much Playtex handsaver gloves cost normally? I have a coupon for $1/1 SS 5/3 and it is listed on the flyer of participating items with the $5/10 promotion. I ran in and picked up the flyer to see all the items that are included in the promotion so I would know how to make my grocery list up. Thanks in advance!

    • Trice

Hi all, I was having a problem getting the cellfire speedstick it isn’t available for me, is it just my area( atlanta- snellville) or is it no longer available at all?? Thanks in advance!

    • savingfrenzy

I was able to get it to load, but I don’t remember what day I did it. Maybe they have pulled it since I did??? I am in Snellville too :-).

    • Carla

I’ve found the past two times I’ve gone to Krogers in Murfreesboro, TN that the prices on this site didn’t always match up with the prices in my store. For example, the Tyson boneless skinless chicken wasn’t on sale for $1.99/lb. and it’s not in this weeks flyer as such either. Is this normal for there to be a lot of regional differences for Krogers? I’ve never had a problem with Publix matching up with prices on this site.

      • Jenny

TN is in actually in a different region for Kroger so many of the big sale items will match up like the Buy 10 deals but other items like meat, produce and milk are regional deals and will vary. I am in the Southeast region so that is the ad the list is made from.

    • Trice

I got it to work thanks!

    • Cathy

I’m in North Atlanta and did not get $4 catalina when I bought 5 Kraft Cheeses either… be warned!

    • Debbie

The $4 catalina off 5 Kraft cheeses didn’t work in Nashville either. Good thing I needed cheese.

    • The Catalina promo with the Kraft Cheese ended on Sunday, 7/12, just FYI. There was only one day to get in on this.

    • Lauren

Hi! I am new at this and did my first shopping trip Sun. I did all the steps, but found some of the items at Kroger were not the price listed here like Smart Balance, It was 2.99, and the Chex Mix was 3.49. Still saved $33, so I was happy at my first attempt.

    • I did some shopping at kroger today and got some awesome deals.

      I spent $12.58 OOP and saved $82.47.

thank you for your web site!!!

    • Becca

I just got back from shopping at Kroger and I svaed $113.01 and I ended up paying a little over $40. Now I’m off to Ingles, Walgreens and CVS to save more money. I love this site Thank You, Jenny.

    • Tiana

If anyone requested the Home Made Simple coupon book a few weeks back there is a $.50/1 for febreeze air effects in it and a $1/1 for Swiffer furniture spray that matches the PG e-coupon (I think it’s $1/1 also).

Also, if you bought the maxwell house coffee a few weeks back that had the coupon booklets attached to the top there is a $1.25 of three Philadelphia cream cheese coupon it that.

Thank you, Jenny, so much for all you do, my family appreciates it!

    • Daisy25

      I had the same experience…

As soon as I handed the cashier my coupons, she called the manager over who informed me that in addition to dis-allowing “free” or B1G1 coupons, Kroger is also limiting printables to TWO per customer. She made me choose which coupons I wanted to use and refused the rest.

I put back anything for which they refused to accept the coupon. I guess I will just have to take my coupons to Publix. So far, Publix is the only store that has never given me any kind of hassle when using coupons…

    • Tenessa

The playtex disposable gloves are part of the deal and they are on sale for $1 so free after deal and coupon woohoo. Also the Smuckers natural peanut butter was on sale for 2.24 I think and there are .35 off coupons out there making it $1.54 A darn good deal for that kind of peanut butter and a decent deal for any peanut butter :) There was some Del Monte Fruit in jars in the produce section on close out and I had a $1 off coupon from the All You Magazine and also the dole fruit cups were on sale and part of the Mega event. There was a $1 off those in the All You Mag also.

    • LaShandal

Trying to understand my savings on Kroger reciepts. Which savings should I go by? Total savings section for today or You saved XXXX with your plus card. Please explain. Thanks!

    • Lisa

I bought the 5 kraft cheese at my Krogers in Harriman Tn and did not get the $4.00 back for the next purchase.

    • david

hi everyone ive had such a blast with cvs the past 2 weeks thank you {jenny} i have been hearing all this chatter about dis-allowing “free” or B1G1 coupons, Kroger is also limiting printables to TWO per customer. does any no where to get a official coupon policy or could anyone explain a little more in dept i haven’t had no issues in Dallas Texas as long as you do-not go over 3 q,s per product my sale starts on wed every week so im trying to get ready ,but id sure like to know ahead of time before i get there have 20 or 30 items line up and the rules of the game have changed thank you for all you do jenny y’all have a good one

    • Jen

How many of the $5 off 10 deals can we do? Is it 3 per transaction or 3 per card? Thanks.

    • Kristin

      just a general question since I’m new…

I know that I can use a printed coupon and an E-coupon together. Can I use 2 e-coupons at the same time on one item (ie: Shortcuts and Cellfire)? Can I use a printed coupon from the internet and a printed coupon from an insert at the same time on one item? Just curious…I’ve got lots of coupons to use.

      Thanks in advance.

      • Jenny

If you buy 2 items and have (2) ecoupons it will use them both in that same transaction. You will need to pick one coupon though between the printed or insert coupons if you are only buying one item. they are both manufacturer coupons and you only get one paper manufacturer coupon per item and one e coupon per item.

    • meg

Kristin, There’s really no way to choose which e-coupon you use. Just load them both on your card and hope they both work! Sometimes they both come off, but lately I’ve had issues with shortcuts.

    • Leane

I understand the buy 10 get $5 off, but if you buy 20 do you get $10 off?

    • Jen

Kristin, you can only use one manufacture’s coupon at a time. The printable and the insert coupon are likely both manufacture coupons.

    • Moggy

Leane, yes you will get $5.00 off for every 10 participating items you purchase. I got a total of $25.00 off my trip on Sunday because I bought 50 participating items.

    • I love this site and use it more than any other for my coupon matchups. Everything usually matches up pretty well, but this week, Little Rock was not having the Buy 10/Save $5 deal at all, so I was a little disappointed. Does anyone know of a coupon matchup site for the Little Rock/Memphis region?? If not, maybe I should consider starting one ;)

    • Veronica

If anyone is interested, when I bought my Purina Dog Chow both bags came with a coupon inside. One for $1 off and one for a free can of Mighty Dog. :-)

    • jj

Thanks Veronica, it was going to be a few weeks before I opened those bags of Dog Chow, I appreciate the tip! Off to buy more :)

    • Dena

I was so frustrated today. My shortcuts coupons did not come off! About another $5 should have been off of my bill! I might not have even purchased those items w/o the coupon! Too late!
Last time my cellfire coupons didn’t work and Shortcuts did. Today it was opposite.
Am I doing something wrong?? Help!?
Should I just stick to plain ole’ paper coupons?

      Is anyone else having issues?

    • Dena

I found this too late for myself…but if you use the zip code 45435 in coupons.com, you can get a $1/1 for Softsoap. Should make it FREE!

    • Ginger

      Dena –
You’re not alone. I have had problems w/ both cellfire and shortcuts coming off here lately. From now on, I will just not plan on them coming off. Then, I will be pleasantly surprised if they do.:)

    • Does anyone know if the print limit has been reached on the A.1 or where I can find it? I can’t find it on coupons.com.

    • hi everyone!

was wondering about the coupon for “carolina pride sausage” and the $1/5 cokes….both were supposed to be in ss 6/21…but, when i checked on the archive coupon insert neither was listed…also, not in my actual inserts either…just wondering if anyone else noticed this

      thanks so much

    • Allison

i am bummed – bought only 19 of the Buy10 get $5 items – thought i had 20 – DARN! BUT – i did spend only $20 on $80 worth of groceries – so i cant complain too much!
Also – all summer stuff was 1/2 off – so i spent an extra $10 on a bubble gun and other bubble stuff for a bday gift………….

    • i am in atlanta and there was a coke coupon for $1/3 that expired on the 10th of july…there was no $1/5 coupon…hth

    • Allison,

I did the same thing during the last promotion- only had 9 items & not the 10 needed. I went back inside, grabbed a participating item and asked customer service if I bought it if they’d give me the money back for the promotion and they did. Since this is going on thru next week, I’d definitely make a stop at customer service your next trip in!

    • Wendy

For those of you with shortcuts issues – If you visit their site, you can file a dispute. You must have your receipt and the Kroger Card # you registered with their site. The process will ask you to check off which ecoupon did not come off. I have had two shortcuts ecoupons not work in the past week. Both times, I have filed a dispute. Shortcuts will load “shortcuts cash” equal to the ecoupon that should have redeemed. As long as you spend the minimum stated amount next time at Kroger and use your Kroger card, the shortcuts cash will come off your total. Please note, the ecoupon that you check as being disputed will be automatically deleted from your card so that you don’t get the shortcuts cash and the ecoupon.

Last night before I purchased the AMP drinks for the $10 gift card, I saw that a sign was posted explaining how to get the gift card. However, when I got to the checkout the catalina didn’t print so I told the cashier about the posted sign and she went and pulled it off and called for the manager. Evidently he wasn’t aware of this deal however they went ahead and gave me my $10 gc. When I was back in the store today, the sign that had been posted was gone. Can a store do this? I followed all the proper procedures when purchasing the drinks. Should I call Kroger’s home office?

Bumblebee tuna pouches, 2.5 oz, .99; used a recent q to make them free. Not part of the mega sale.
