    • You know, I have to tell you, I really enjoy this blog and the insight from everyone who participates. I find it to be refreshing and very informative. I wish there were more blogs like it. Anyway, I felt it was about time I posted, I?ve spent most of my time here just lurking and reading, but today for some reason I just felt compelled to say this.

    • Amy

Just a note: Kroger on Lake Murray only accepts two (2) IPs per item .. so be mindful when you are planning to buy BC Fruit Snacks!

    • Anita

I’m wondering if the catalina deal on the fruit snacks is a regional thing. I bought 5 and didn’t receive the $3.50 cat :( Also, the Kroger in Murray, KY won’t accept any IP over $1.00 and no IPs for FREE items. So, they wouldn’t take my B1G1 Sobe coupons :(

    • Tara

At my Kroger in Augusta, GA I was told last week that they have started accepting only 2 IP’s per transaction! Maybe if enough of us inquire at customer service about this new policy, they will stop imposing it! After all, aren’t they getting reimbursed for all of the coupons anyway?

    • Katie

Would the eCoupon and the Paper coupon on the nature Valley nut clusters combine to make them free?

    • Michelle

i couldn’t get the old el paso printable link to come up with a Q.

    • Lynda

Yes, Katie #4, they would be free. They rang up at 2.49 at my Kroger then you subtract the .50 for the Mega deal, the eCoupon, and the paper coupon. Yay free…

    • Anita, I’m so glad you posted about the Kroger in Murray; I was considering running over there because the Kroger stores in Paducah seem to have stopped carrying the SoBe water; I’m hoping to catch a grocery manager at one of the stores this week to find out for sure. I’m so disappointed because my son has taken this for his lunch every day since school started and we’re about to run out of what we got in the last Mega Sale.

As far as the Betty Crocker fruit snack catalina, a friend of mine bought them at southside Kroger in Paducah Thursday night and hers printed so it is working in at least part of this area.

    • Carla

I have some Amp manQ’s that I picked up at Wags the other day. They have Wags printed on the bottom but state they are ManQ. Can I use these at Kroger to get my Amp free?

    • If you use Cellfire or Shortcuts ecoupons make sure you check your receipt. I went to Kroger three times last week and ecoupons did not come off. I did email both companies and they reimbursed my ecoupons account.

    • Rhonda

The Sunday magazine (last week, 8/16, Louisville Courier Journal area…maybe others) had a $3 of any Surf laundry detergent coupon in it! I just rechecked and it does say ANY size. I’ve never used this soap before but am willing to give it a try.

Smithfield bacon was $2.99 and the little bitty sign said this price was good until 9/12. The coupon did beep, however, the cashier was more than happy to adjust for $2.99 (register read: NON SCAN meat..okay by me!).

    • Beth W

anyone have issues today with the 3.50 catalina printing for the buy 5 BC fruit snacks. I did this deal twice today (at two different krogers) and didn’t receive the coupon either time. Both times I was told by management that the deal had ended?

I tried at the kroger on st andrews and on lake murray?

    • Steve

The Wanchai Ferry frozen dinner kits are not on sale in the Atlanta area for $5.49 as listed above. They are however part of the mega savings event but are priced at $7.99 before the 50cents mega savings.

Also, at my new Kroger store in Loganville, the Catalina machine was down and did not print off my $3.50 coupon for the Betty Croker snacks. I went to the service desk and told them I didn’t get the coupon and that’s when they told me their system was down. They gave me the $3.50 in cash.

You really have to watch your receipts. I have a mistake on just about every one of mine and have become a regular at the service desk.

    • Brandi

Anita, I shop Murray Kroger also and my fruit snacks catalina printed twice as well as the nature’s valley. I shopped last Tuesday night though so I’m wondering if they have a print limit?? I also wish they would take the higher printables. I wanted to use the $3.50 Wanchai Ferry q and they wouldn’t take it. However, it is hard to complain because I still bought 70 items the other night for a total OOP of $30.12!! A savings of $159.59!! (84%) That is the best I’ve done at Kroger!

Wendy, I guess it is too late now, but CVS was also running the Sobe water for b1g1 and the Murray CVS took the whole purchase price off the water not just up to the $1.59 so I was able to get completely free. Maybe you can check CVS next time.

    • Katie

Thanks Lynda! I may try some then (if they are free, why not?)

Lizel- I have found that if you scan your Plus card before any of the groceries, the eCoupons come off. Otherwise, they may or may not (I am not sure whether that is true for everyone, but it seems to be the pattern for me)

    • Christian’s Mommy

      Got a few ?’s here:

How do you get the mailers from Kroger? I’ve been a loyal Kroger girl for a while but have never gotten anything in the mail from them.

Any idea if the lysol cleaners will go 50% off anytime soon? I’ve been saving my q’s for the sale (I did pretty good last time) but don’t want to let them expire.

Is there anything that can be done if say, I got a little scissor happy and cut a q in half?

    • Erin

My Kroger in Gwinnett County (N of Atlanta) has started imposing the 2 IP/item limit too…apparently they have been getting stuck with copies of coupons. I tried to explain that each coupon will have a unique number and that I typically print four of each coupon (2 computers), but they wouldn’t budge. Very frustrating when you have to buy so many of an item to get a discount and you have legitimate coupons, but they won’t accept them.

    • I looked back through comments from last week, couldnt find the answer…has anyone else had luck printing the Tropicana50 coupon? If you got it to work, please share. Thank you so much.

    • Julie Ann

      Christian’s Mommy-
I just started Krogering in March and FINALLY got my coupon in the mail this past week. They told me, the more you shop the more likely you’ll get coupons. Hope that helps!

    • Samantha

Erin #17 … which Gwinnett County Kroger did you have trouble at? I shop at the one on the corner of PIB and Pleasant Hill and never have any trouble with the printed coupons there.

    • Mina

      Caution – RANT

I have often defended policies at the Kroger St. Andrews Rd/Lake Murray Blvd Kroger in Irmo, particularly their internet printable coupon policies, because I think most of them are reasonable steps for fraud prevention in stores where the front end personnel have little to no training in telling the difference between legitimate and fraudulent coupon use. Many of their cashiers are good, and some of their Customer Service people are outstanding.

Today, for the first time ever, I angrily stood my ground at the CS counter until the episode drew the attention of a manager. The shift leader, Betty, was not only preventing the new CS person from properly handling the discrepency on my receipt, but using it as a training example of why a customer should be denied. I felt that if I accepted her determination it would mean more than me just swallowing a $5 loss over a programming error. Others after me would be cheated the same way if the new young lady wound up being trained improperly.

Story – I had checked out late the previous evening. So, the CS desk was closed. My transaction consisted solely of 10 items which were all part of the “Mega Sale”. The $5 did not come off of my total. Neither did shortcut or cellfire q’s, but that’s not the store’s problem.

I was not worried about it. I figured I’d just take my receipt in today and have it taken care of. That’s an inconvenience, but no big deal.

All of my items had the + sign after them, but only 4 had the PC. The programming was not recognizing any of the varieties of Tuna Helper as participating products. The young lady at the CS desk understood the problem, but had to call Betty to show her how to input the refund. Betty used the receipt to show her that only the products with the “PC” counted toward the event. Her reasoning was that if the register programming did not recognize the items, they didn’t count.

I explained that was indeed the problem, but that I was certain the items were part of the promotion. I showed her the ad where they were displayed on the front page. I told her that the shelf tags said the same thing when I was there the night before, but had not checked to see if they were still up.

She not only stood her ground, but told me that I had to purchase 10 of the same item in order to get the advertised price.

She also tried to tell me that since the ad price differed by 4 cents from the store price, I was not allowed to have my money.

Finally Mr. Whittaker walked up to check out the commotion. He looked at my receipt, looked at the ad, and then walked back with me to check the shelf tags. Fortunately, this is a two week promo. So, they were still up. Every one of my items had a “Mega Sale” tag listing the prices I was charged pre-discount. He tore one off, took it to the CS desk, and said, “She’s right. Give her the money.”

I accepted my $5, and left to shop at the Publix at Murray Landing on Rt.6, where I KNOW I’ll be greeted with a genuine smile and CS personnel who believe in treating customers right.

I passed Betty as I left Kroger. She gave me a big smile and said, “We took care of you.” I didn’t say what I was thinking, “Uh, no. You did everything you could to prevent my problem from being taken care of.”

The one thing that I hope the new trainee learned from that is to trust her own common sense and judgment about customer requests, and that not everything some of the supervisors tell them is sensible.

There is at least one excellent CS person in that store, and quite a few excellent cashiers. If I didn’t already know that, I’d probably never shop in that particular store again. It’s just a few who probably feel like they are protecting the store’s interest, but are instead being unfair to customers, who sometimes make this a very unpleasant store at which to shop.

    • Mina

Re: the Betty Crocker fruit snack q’s – Before I redeemed mine, I tore off the section of one where it lists the items and dates, since that part doesn’t need to be attached and just makes them more cumbersome for the cashiers. The dates listed were Aug 14th through Sept 6th. It may vary by region, though.

If anyone’s did not print, call Catalina with your receipt info. They can verify whether one should have printed, and will mail you one if it didn’t.

For those who shop at the Lake Murry Blvd store, I’ve noticed that register #8 has had frequent problems w/the CAT machine for over a month. Even when the green light has been on, it has jammed and not printed. Register #7 jammed on Sat. and appeared to be running out of ink. Register #10 has printed without problems whenever I’ve used that.

    • Robin

      how does one contact/call catalina?

i bought the 5 fruit snacks and the 5 granola bars and received 0 catalina’s.

    • weathergirl

      Christian’s Mommy,

The Lysol cleaner is BOGO at Publix this week (which makes it 50% off). It’s what I’m doing!

    • Meg

Krogers in Houston have stopped doubling more than one of a particular coupon!! This sure makes the mega events less exciting when you want to buy multiples of one item. My guess is last weekend’s big double event was a last hurrah before the policy change.

To the person having trouble printing the trop 50 coupon: don’t bother! I am struggling to finish the carton I bought. You’re better off paying regular price for pure orange juice and mixing it with water. This stuff is mostly water and tastes like sunny d with a really bad aftertaste from the stevia sweetener.

    • ***Price alert****
If you bought strawberries in the Spring Hill Tenn Kroger on US 31 from the time this new sale started until 7p last night, check your receipt. They rang up at $2.50 instead of $1.65 and it was kind of surprising that it was 7p on a Sunday and this problem had not been caught or fixed yet.

In the same transaction, the cashier did not apply my Catalina coupon for $1.50 off with purchase of 3 BC fruit snacks. I don’t know if it was an oversight or what because I gave her that coupon with my other BC coupons. But I had no problems whatsoever at customer service. She refunded me $2.50 with a smile!

      Check those receipts!

    • If I buy two like items and have loaded Shortcuts and Cellfire e-coupons for that item to my shopper’s card, will both come off at the register? For example, the Nature Valley nut clusters. Can I load the e-coup on each site, buy two, and have both redeemed? Thanks!

    • CJ

@Tara, #4: Which Kroger in Augusta do you go to that told you that? I go to both the Columbia Rd and Washington Rd-Evans locations and have never had a problem with the coupon limit.

@Christina, #25: I loaded both coupons for the Nature Valley Granola bars and had both come off at the register. I did the “Buy 5, get $3.50 off OYNO” catalina deal, so I was THRILLED when I saw that both of my e-coups went as well as my paper coups!

    • In response to post #18, I have also had problems with the Tropicana coupon and I NEVER have coupon printing problems. It keeps saying ‘missing or invalid parameter’ and I’ve tried it w/ IE and FF.
      Help anyone???????????

    • Jenny

To call the Catalina company dial 1-888-8Coupon. They are very easy to work with!

    • Sofia

Mina #21 , that is why I stopped shopping at the Lake Murray Kroger. If you could pass along a few good cashier’s names and best time to go in maybe I’ll reenter but for now I’d rather just go to Publix:)

    • Andrea

I know most of you aren’t from here, but the Farmville, VA printed the $3.50 catalina on the BC fruit snacks Saturday, Aug. 22. And I have NEVER had a problem using IPs or had limited number of Mega Deals per transaction there. It’s a smaller store, but it’s great not having issues at check out.

    • Re Steve #13 – The frozen Wanchai Ferry in my Knoxville TN Kroger store is also not on sale @ $5.49. It’s part of the deal, but it’s going for $6.99.

    • Jen

I went last week to Kroger and got two of the frozen Wanchai Ferry. There was a big sign on the freezer door saying $5.49 after mega promotion discount. When I got to the register, they rang up $7.49, so I asked about it and they took off $1.50 each before even checking (which was nice). A manager checked on it and said he didn’t see any signs (I’ve had trouble with them not being able to find signs there before! I wish they would just take me with them!). Maybe they were going to have the sale, but then decided not too because when I went bag the large sign was gone and they had the mega promotion on the shelf tag for $6.99 after $0.50 promotion discount. So weird!

    • Carla

I was just wondering if you have two paper coupons for an item will it take the amount of the e-coupon off twice??

    • Judy

I had duplicate coupons loaded from Cellfire and Shortcuts but last week at Krogers in TN, only 1 came off. In the past, they used both coupons from both e-coupon companies, but not this time. Is that something that other people are seeing? It took my paper coupon and 1 e coupon…for instance, I had an e coupon at Cellfire for Roll-ups and an e-coupon at Shortcuts for Roll-ups….but only 1 showed up on my receipt. I am curious if they have the computer set so that only 1 e coupon will be honored? Has anyone else seen this? I still did ok with the Mega Sale, but I wasn’t able to pull off the scenarios that were listed on Souther Savers for Kroger’s items.

Some krogers (haven’t verified all but for sure a few) will now only double one coupon of the same item. So if you are buying fruit snacks and have the 50 cent coupon, only your first one will double the rest will go at face value. This is not good for me, since I always 99% of the time shop at krogers for all my groceries and I tried to make a trip every 2 weeks, but with only one coupon per item doubling , not sure if i can’t shop there anymore. TOM THUMB AND SIMON DAVID (ALSO TOM THUMB CHAIN) also only doubles the first coupon….

    • Amber

Question on the e-coupons…I have used both the cellfire and shortcuts Granola coupons to get the free bags of granola….but why does my account still show the coupons? Can I go back and get more? Same thing with the fruit snacks, used the e coupons last monday (17th), but they are still showing on my account? Does this mean more free fruit snacks for me? I hate to go through checkout and then not have ecoupons come off and over pay!

    • tj

i used to be able to use both e company q’s on one product. for instance i would buy 1 box of cheerio’s and my cellfire and shortcut coupon would be used on that product. last weekend i found that they are only using one of those coupons per item at the auburn, al store. big bummer and thought it was just a mistake but someone else had the same problem at a diffrent store. they must have put a stop to it. toooooo bad!

    • Sarah H

Tara- I have had the same problem with the limit of only two IPs per transaction, but only at the Wrightsboro Rd Store.

    • Nashville Newbie

Today was my first time that I have ever done this and drum roll please . . . I saved $41.73!!!!

I am on cloud nine right now. Is this just beginner’s luck? I am so ecstatic right now! I have been wanting to do this for years but just never took the time. I can’t wait to go back another time this week as a few of the items were out. We are really trying to “cut the fat” out of our budget and I am hoping this will help. Thank you!!!!!!!

    • Michelle

I tried to print the El Paso taco shell coupon on the link and it went to a Pillsbury site and did not contain the coupon

    • Shelly

I spent 158.00 and saved 175.00. WOW that is amazing!!! Thank You!!!!

    • I got free minute maid frozen treats 4pk and clean & clear for $.49 each at krogers this week!!! I also used my Chef Michaels free 5oz bag coupons.

    • Sarah

Does anyone know how long the NV granola bar catalina deal is going to last?

    • Kristen

Has anyone been able to print the Anunt Jemima syrup coupon? I love this syrup and I have been waiting for it to go on sale. I don’t buy any other kind and I am almost out.

      HELP Pleae!! :)

    • I racked up at Kroger last night here in Southaven, MS! The cashier was amazed! I MADE money off some boxes of Cheerios; I paid 25 cents each for 3 boxes, but each box had a 1.50 coupon for Pampers on the back…so I actually MADE $3.75 on Cheerios! Look for those coupon boxes! Love this site!!!

      Check out my savings! http://www.andrewaudra.blogspot.com

    • Tatianacakes

For the 10 participating items, do they all have to be in the same transaction?
I was short by 5 yesterday, I wondered if I went back and got 5 more if that would count?

    • Melissa

I have loved this mega sale!! Last week I spent $150 & saved $213 with coupons & Kroger card. Today my total started at $150 & after coupons, ecoupons & mega $5 came off I only spent $72!! I’m pretty excited & stocked up on Betty Crocker goods for awhile! Thanks.

    • Amy

Fruit snacks at Lake Murray Kroger are $1.79 .. not $1.49 .. but still great deal with the catalinas!

    • Wende

No you have to get it all at once – will not add up the next time.

    • Lindsay

my kroger on 129 in jefferson ga accepts competitor coupons. My mom asked in gainesville and they do to, so you should ask your kroger to see if they do. It has made shopping at kroger much more enjoyable.

    • Sande

Bellevue, TN Krogers are following Harris Teeter and they are doubling any coupon $1.98 or less!!! And as usual, Krogers prices are usually less than HT.

    • ang

I got yogurt for free and Some GE lights at the Kroger in Bellevue, TN, Woo hoo!!! My total went from $25.50 to $9.91.

    • Colleen

Michelle- I am having the same problem with the El Paso Taco shell printable link- straight to Pillsbury. I printed it before but it was def. a different site.

Anyone having luck with Super doubles here in Nashville? I haven’t been yet….

    • Beth

Be sure to look at the prices carefully in your store. Smithfield Bacon is regular price – $4.99 at the two Krogers I’ve been to. I’ve found the Big K 12 packs at $2.39 & $2.19. The prices seem to be higher where I live.

    • Can somebody do an alert if the Comforts diapers are reset – it says the print limit is reached and I’m not sure if that is a personal print limit from the last promotion or for all Kroger’s.

I agree about the Trop50 – check the ingredient list, water is up there at the top. And it’s not a full 2 quarts, it’s smaller. This is one of those marketing gimmicks that makes the company look like they care about our health when they’re really saving money on product and packaging (sorry about the rant, but this makes me nutz)

    • Anne Marie

Has anyone had any luck contacting Catalina? I did the BC and NV deals the other day and the cats didn’t print. I asked the manager and he asked where it said that. I couldn’t show him on the shelf where that was advertised, so he wouldn’t give it to me. Does anyone know where it is in writing? When I contacted catalina, they said someone would get back to me in 2 or 3 days and I haven’t heard anything. Also, a bunch of my cellfire coupons didn’t come off and I contacted them and still haven’t heard anything back.

    • newatq

Thank you, Brentwood Kroger, for matching Harris Teeter’s super doubles and triples!!!!! I did great couponing, but you also got my non-couponing business.

    • Denita

    • MommyCFO

How do I register for the $3 smithfield bacon printable? I don’t see a link.

    • Jeff

How nuch are the Pepsi/Mt. Dew 2-L products in your area? They are $0.49 after Mega Event discount in The Triangle, NC.

      Reply on comment #38 (Amber)
It took about three days for used e-coupons to show up as redeemed on my Cellfire and Shortcuts accounts. It may be longer or shorter for you. You can only use an e-coupon once even if it still shows as active. You really have to keep a list of the e-coupons that you have added to your Kroger card and cross off the ones you have used (and write in any that you add to your card again, etc).

      Trouble with Nature Valley e-coupons:
I added the Shortcuts $1.00 NV Nut Clusters e-coupon. I bought NV Nut Clusters. Cellfire redeemed the $0.40 NV Granola Bars e-coupon when Shortcuts should have redeemed the $1.00 NV Nut Clusters e-coupon. I DID NOT buy granola bars of any kind.

Later that day I added the Cellfire $1.00 NV Nut Clusters e-coupon. The next day I bought NV Nut Clusters again. This time it was Shortcuts which redeemed the $0.40 NV Granola Bars e-coupon when Cellfire should have redeemed the $1.00 NV Nut Clusters e-coupon. Again, I DID NOT buy granola bars of any kind.

I was reimbursed by Shortcuts. Cellfire only reimbursed me for the NV nut Clusters and one of the other three e-coupons that, somehow, were not redeemed on that second day.

    • Amber

Jeff – had the same thing happen with one of my NV clusters bags, threw the receipt away before I email cellfire. I went back to kroger just now though, and went ahead and tried the NV clusters again, and it worked! So over the course of the mega sale, I paid .60 for 5 bags of NV clusters! (most are going to the food bank) Don’t know why or how it worked, but i’ll take it!

    • kelli

I’m not going to post details now because the mega sale is over now but I did amazingly well this week. I didn’t actually go shopping today, I’ve been so busy this week! Total I spent $25.23 on $273.45 worth of groceries!!! A savings of $248.22! I bought 133 items, 3 of them weren’t qualifying items, so I saved $65 just from that. And I have $3.50 from fruit shapes to spend on my next trip. :)
