Pondering getting mom flowers for mother’s day?

Living Social has a deal today to get $35 from FTD.com for $15.  This is a side deal under most cities, so just head to your city or surrounding cities and grab it.

There are lots of things on the FTD.com site starting at $19.99 so you can get something gorgeous for mom and save $20 bucks doing it!!  They do have a $14.99 delivery fee so to get the best deal pick from the $19.99 selections and you will get your flowers and shipping all covered by the voucher!

One tip: schedule these to arrive Friday before or the Monday after Mother’s Day and you’ll save even more.

If you haven’t purchased from Living Social before, you are basically buying a gift certificate code that will be placed into your living social account.  You then go to FTD.com and enter your code during checkout.

(thanks Isabel!)

I have a flier that came with my receipt when I ordered some stuff from Lands End and it has a promo code for $10 off any item from http://www.ftd.com…can I use both the living social deal and the $10 off together??

    • Twinmomaaa

Just a heads up that the delivery fee for me is $19.99.

I just got an email from Borders this morning that said Borders Rewards members get 20% off their order from FTD Flowers. Since the living social deal is used at the end during the payment, I was hoping they could be combined. As long as you go through the Borders links the prices are automatically reduced 20%. I think this would work and result in a few more dollars of saving.

      • Michelle

I got the same email but I am thinking that is just advertising for the sale FTD is having right now because the link from Living Social lists the exact same prices. I even added something to my cart from the Borders email to see if the price would adjust but it didn't. Bummer. :(

        • mum2girlz

I actually just got off the phone with FTD to ask if I could use my Discover rewards giftcard I just received with the Living Social deal–I actually was laughed at by the customer service gal at the other end. The answer was NO! Also, I'm not really thrilled about paying $20 for shipping–doesn't seem like that good of a deal.

Also Ebates is offering 20% back with any purchase! I am hoping that I can do both!

    • Chiefsangeleyes

FTD is on Ebates at 20%!!!

I couldn't find the LivingSocial voucher box to place my code in when I was ready to order. Does anybody have any tips on this? Also, was anybody successful on using both LivingSocial and Upromise?

    • elizabeth

OK, I have my promo code and am ready to order, but I think it's not letting me start via Shopathome.com. (who is offering a 30% cash back right now!) Has anyone else been able to get the living social field to appear when starting at either ebates or shopathome? (I only got this living social voucher because I thought I could start through one of these other sites, since it said 'not to be combined with another voucher' and ebates/shopathome is not a voucher!)

    • Iluv2laughatu

I'm never ordering from this company again. There is a hidden service fee charge of $21 and the advertised prices are NOT of the pictured product but of its “upgrade.” Bad business.

    • elizabeth

Has anyone been able to use their voucher in combination with Shopathome? (or ebates, but shopathome is offering 30% cash back right now!) I can't find the living social promo field when going through shopathome, and my dreams of a super-good deal is starting to fade….

      • elizabeth

I will also add that I thought I could combine them because the Living Social fine print said 'cannot be combined with any other voucher'. Going through ebates or shopathome is not a voucher, at least as far as I knew.

    • I haven't been able to enter the code either. I called living social and they said that it could be my browser (firefox), so I tried IE and the code box still didn't show. They gave me a number to call FTD, but I really wanted to use ebates as well. I even tried online WITHOUT going through ebates, and the code box still didn't show. I'm getting annoyed! :D

i'm having same problem. honestly all floral sites are a pain in the patootie – if you get any help please let us know.

    • Marlene R.

I sent an email to Living Social and just got this reply:

      Hi Marlene,

Thanks for getting in touch with us!

It seems like FTD is currently experiencing some problems with their website. A handful of customers are having trouble getting the promo box to appear. If you're one of these, we recommend trying again a little bit later on in the day. FTD is aware of the issue and are working on weeding out the problems. If you already have an FTD account and logged in, try buying the deal as a 'Guest' – a few customers have had some success with that.

Any other budding questions about FTD's website should be directed to them. You can reach the fine folks at FTD at 1-866-233-2811.

So hopefully they'll fix this soon.

    • I finally gave up and called FTD. That was PAINFUL. The person was hardly understandable, and apparently couldn't understand me. I had to repeat myself at every step. Also, he tried to give me a higher price than was listed on the website. Then didn't know what the “social living” (he kept calling it that) deal was. Finally I got it, though. Whew.

      • elizabeth

Did they have to do anything special to your account/order to make the living social field appear? I tried again after reading this post but mine is still not there…and based on what you wrote, I really don't want to have to call! :)

        • I don't think they do. When I told the guy I was having trouble online He said “yes, that is why it is better to call!” even though all the voice prompts say “it's easier to order online!”

When I got my email confirmation, the discount was just labeled “gift certificate.”

Also, I just tweeted with livingsocial and they said they'd been experiencing these problems and also the FTDflowers tweets acknowledge it, too. So maybe if you wait a bit longer they'll have it worked out for you to order online. I hope so! Either way, good luck to you!

Just as an aside, if my mama lived in the same town or I was going to be with her ON mother's day, it would be so much easier to just go buy her some flowers. haha! I will no longer harass husband when he offers that up as an alternative to delivery.

          • elizabeth

Holly–I just posted my response from FTD above, and I'm hoping it all works out. I'm sending some red roses to my almost 95 year old granny, she is amazing–she suffers from dementia and has only 6 months at the most. Not complaining, she's lived a long wonderful beautiful life. Red roses are her favorite and I want to spoil her and shower her with roses now while she's still with us. And I have two girls, 3 and a half and a 19 month old, and just had knee surgery–otherwise we'd deliver them in person! I'm having them delivered on friday, then we'll show up Sunday to visit. I am crying just typing this!
But on a financial note, yes, by combining the living social and 30% from shopathome, I got roses down to less than half price. My family tells me she won't understand/remember them after 5 minutes, but if she loves them for 5 minutes then it's worth it. :-)

            • Aw, that is really sweet of you to send your granny her favorite flowers. She will love them! I hope all goes smoothly on the FTD side.

I did figure out that if I clear my history and cookies that the living social promocode box shows up. There must be something in the FTD site code that permits having an ebates cookie so that users won't get double discounts.

    • elizabeth

OK–guys, I just called FTD and got some good news! It has nothing to do with shopathome or ebates. The very nice lady told me that FTD is running a $10 off special to everyone right now, and even though we don't see that $10 off on our order total, it's automatically being applied to each order right now. She said that because of that, their system isn't generating the Living Social promo codes. (she said EVERYONE is calling about this!) She said to go ahead and place the order, then call back with your order number and tell them you have a living social deal and they will adjust the existing order, taking off the $10 and applying the living social deal. She said yes, you can still use shopathome or ebates!

I told her I was comparing notes with others who were having the same problems and that I'd pass her answer along–she seemed very thankful! Hope this helps everyone else who's having difficulty. :)

    • Marlene

Just as a follow-up, I just could not get the promo code to work on the FTD site, so what I did is paid for the order as is (went thru ebates.com first) and then sent a billing inquiry using the link on their site. I just asked them to apply the Living Social code and wrote out my number. I got a reply back this morning that they’ve credited my card the $35.00. So if you hate calling try that, I think they are doing their best to resolve any issues.

    • Marcia

This is my first, and last, experience with living social. FTD was totally unhelpful and kept saying the same thing, even when I said it didn't work, i.e., I can't enter the code, and there's no living social link. I suppose the charge will show up on my credit card, but hey, $15 is a cheap lesson.
