A story from my trip:

I love it when you get on a coupon train.  You buy something that has a coupon for something else and it keeps going.

I had a B1G1 Eggs coupon and coupons for Sargento

Bought (2) Sargento and used the store coupon for FREE Eggs, then used the B1G1 Eggs coupon — that made 2 dozen eggs free.  Then the Sargento had coupons on it for Bertolli Sauce (currently B1G1) so I got two jars of sauce for 40 cents each.

To see all the deals from this week go here.

    • At my Publix 100oz Tide for $11.99 with a coupon attached for a free 34oz Downy up to $4.99 value. All the 100oz Tide had this coupon attached!

      • Rebecca

I will be on the LOOKout for that! Thanks

    • Christine

Does anyone have any ideas / recipes as to what I could do with the barber Cordon Blue chicken besides just cooking it as is???? Thanks!

      • Jennifer

These things are so yummy I have always just made them as is… Whenever I’m in a pinch and can’t decide what to make for dinner I just pull one of these babies out and I’m always happy with the results… Other than cutting it up, I’m not sure you can make anything else from these… Maybe wrap it in some more ham… or Bacon… everything is better with bacon =o)

        • Christine

its just that they will be so cheap for chicken I would like to perhaps have some creative uses. I was thinking maybe I could dice them up after they cool and make some sort of pasta salad with them.

          • Karen

the au gratin potatoes that are BOGO this week go well with the Cordon Blue

    • Kim

Awesome, I just love those previews to stockpile coupons! THANKS!

    • jj

I love your coupon train, that must have been fun!
I did get the free eggs with Sargento, but didn’t have the B1G1 as well

Looks like you need to make quiche this week, use cheap shredded cheese and did you get cans of free evaporated milk at Kroger a few weeks ago?
It can be the almost to cheap to believe it quiche :)

      • Lori Isaacs

I like that!! You should post the recipe. LOL.

      • Steve

Then on some bottles of Bertolli pasta there is a coupon for 55 cents off 2 shredded Sargento cheese, which you can buy and get coupons for $1 off Bertollia pasta. When will it ever end?

        • sara

No doubt before I make it there…lol

    • gatorbyrd

I tried to order the All You magazine with the coupon code provided from ebates. It read “invalid code” no matter how many times or how many different ways I tried?!

    • RM

Where do you get the Winter Savings booklet? Can’t find them in the front of the store. What does it look like?

      • Lori Isaacs

In my store (Daniel Island) they were in front of one of the checkout lines. Not hidden, but not in an obvious place.

      • Sara

I ask at customer service. My store has to hide them because if they put out a stack almost every time they see 1 person come in and grab the whole thing. They hold them so that can have some for people who then otherwise would miss out. I have missed out on many because they were put out and that happened. So I am grateful that they try to do this so I can get a copy too.

    • Was the Polaner an in-store special? I just bought one on Saturday for $2.95 and used a $1 coupon. I don’t see it in an ad.

      • Jenny

It’s a new advantage buy deal that wasn’t listed in the flyer.

        • So, should I bring it back so I can get it for free? Rang up wrong?

    • Amy

      Don’t forget this one!

Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Sausage 12 oz pkg $2.50 (sale price)
-B1G1 Jones Sausage 12 or 16 oz Roll printable or SS 11/08 (regional)
-$1/1 Winter Family Savings Booklet store coupon
Buy 2, use 2 store coupons & B1G1 coupon (makes it 25¢ each)

      • Laura

woo hoo! I’ve had my eye on these coupons for over a month now…was hoping to get a sale before they expire 12/31. THANKS!

      • Nicole

I used both coupons yesterday and for some reason it is not showing up on my receipt. It shows the $ off coupon but not the B1g1. Can you tell me how this would be listed? The price for 1 box is 2.50 so I was thinking at the bottom of my receipt it would show -2.50. Thanks for your help.

    • Jodi

I too had an awesome shopping time at Publix. I save $128 and paid $56. I had $1.50 off coupons for the nut cluster so I got them for 39 cents! The cashier I got was a great guy who just moved up here from Fl and couldn’t believe how much I was saving!

I didn’t get the egg coupon one for the cheese, but did get 4 more Bertolli Sauce then I had originally planned on :D

      • Stacy

Yay you!! I did my best ever- about the same! Spent $62 and saved $119. I’m sooo excited- tomorrow is my birthday and we’re goin’ out with the money I saved!! :)

    • Amos

Are the Barber Chicken coupons gone already??? I never seem to be able to find any MQ’s for these. I used my zip and the one on the link…32801. Zilch. Nada.

      • Sarah

i just printed them- using jenny’s link. try 90210 if you cant find it under yours, or remove the zip altogether. that sometimes helps.

      • weslie

I was just able to print 2 using Jennys link and then another 2 on the Barber Foods Website! :)

        • Steve

Thanks for the tip, I was able to get 2 more Barber coupons.

        • Terri

Thanks, Weslie! I was able to get 2 more on their web-site, as well. :o)

    • Toni

I think they are all gone….they were there for me, I hit next page and then the page updated and all were gone. Too bad.

    • Christine

I was able to get 2 coupons by going thru the barber foods website

    • Sarah

anyone know if the b1g1 deal on the jones sausage is only good if the free item is the sausage roll? is that included in the 2/5 sale?

    • Tina

:( Worse experience at publix ever! The cashier (somehow)accidentally put my $7 off 2 Advantage products coupon in for $23.72, voided that coupon, and then it wouldn’t take any more of my coupons. He had to wait and call a manager and made me feel like it was my fault for using so many coupons. The lady behind me was getting very ill. I told him he could just cancel the entire transaction and give me the coupons back. I just not trying to cause any problems. The lady behind me said, “You are not going to cancel the transaction after you have already caused so much trouble.” The manager finally came and said that they could not take any more of my coupons because there was an overage. I still owed over $35 at that point. I think she finally got the rest of the coupons to go through, but not the $7 off 2 Advantage products. (This was the only coupon that I used that would have cause an overage)

This really bums me out. I try really hard to have everything in order and make sure that I have exactly what the coupon is for and everything. If there is ever a problem, I just let it go and move on. I am not a trouble maker! :(

      • Tina

Sorry! Just needed to vent, I guess!

      • Wanda

You are not a trouble makeer. The cashier was a real jerk. I have had one before but 99% of the time they are really great at taking them. The last time I went they gave me coupons back because I only spent about $65.00 and the total I paid was $1.16 because I had a $10 off $50 from Winn-Dixie and a $5 off $50 from Publix. I also bought 6 of the Benvia nutritional drinks. The cashier and manager were extrememly nice because I didn’t understand them giving me $15. of coupons back but explained my total was only $1.16, so I didn’t question anymore. The man behind me couldn’t believe how many bags I had for a $1.16. Don’t give up, there are nice people out there and also a lot of rude people.

        • Jessica

You’re definitely not a trouble maker. When I first started couponing in September (at Publix of course) the cashiers and managers were so friendly and patient, now they recognize myself and my sister-in-law when we come in as the coupon girls and start to give us looks. They now look for every way possible to reject our coupons or just plain give us a hard time because we have so many coupons. They just started a couple of weeks ago to ask us for our coupons prior to scanning our products to make sure we had the products for the coupons we were using. It seems like there are very few people in our small town that uses coupons. But we do everything “by the book” according to that particular stores coupon policy, per the store manager. Yesterday, I paid .91 cents and saved $75 for a cart full of groceries. I don’t like to go and cause trouble either, but I think if they don’t to deal with specific customers or those with customers, then they’re working in the wrong place.

          • Lynette

I just had a disappointing trip to Publix. I’m fairly new to couponing and it was my 3rd time at Publix using extreme couponing. The lady acted irritated that I had that many coupons. Then she calls over a manager, hands her some of my competitor coupons and asks if she can take them. The manager said they just decided within the last few days they no longer take competitor coupons from any where other than Kroger and Target. I had Food Lion, Rite Aid and Harvey coupons. I asked her to take them because I planned my whole trip around all those coupons. She did, which was truely nice but I feel because I started couponing there they changed that particular stores policy. I was very disappointed. Those competitor coupons really make a difference. Plus, I’m still getting the hang of this and I am a single parent trying to limit my shopping trips to Publix and CVS. So I understand how you feel.

          • Terri

I’ve recently started having the same experience. They always call over a supervisor or manager to ring me up and they try every way they can to reject my coupons. I do it by the book, so I haven’t had many issues, but they are using a fine tooth comb to examine everything. It makes you feel like they think you’re doing something wrong. :o(

        • Lynette

Was the $5 off $50 at Publix a coupon? Where did you get that? I have not seen those.

          • meg

I got two of them in some sort of holiday celebrations mailer –

      • kristin

Bad day, indeed. Tomorrow will be better:)

      • Claire

I would call the corporate office if I was treated like that!

        • LJ

I agree with calling the corporate office. It seems to be a trend with Publix in the last month or so, to be almost insulting to couponers. What they need to consider is that these are hard economic times for all and coupons are provided by the manufacturers for consumers to use. If the consumer feel that they are being treated poorly, they will take their business elsewhere. There is no need to make a production of someone using coupons that the business will be reimbursed for; simply educate your staff and be consistent with the policies. I live in north central Florida and always have been a loyal customer of Publix. I was consistently treated well when I shopped up until the last six months when I started using coupons. Now I feel as though I am being watched while I shop and it always appears that the someone from the managerial staff happens up to the register where I am checking out. So if there is anyone employees from Publix reading this blog…how about giving us couponers a break, we are just trying to make ends meet and if you have any suggestions, please let us know!

        • meg

I had the complete opposite experience at the Sixes Road Canton store (always they are friendly with the coupons) – the young man ( yep, I agree with those people who recommend going to the young men cashiers) couldn’t have been nicer or more patient. He took his time, and I had about 40 coupons – even congratulated me when I saved over $100. I thanked him for his patience – something I always do when I bring lots of coupons – and he said “you’re a valuable customer ma’am”. So nice!

    • The Columbia Publix stores have the Sudafed Triple Action on sale for $4.99. Use the $5 coupon and make .01!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Jessica

My store has the Triple Action 24 count on sale for $4.99 but the $4 and $5 coupon states 36 count.

    • Ansley

Dont know the regular price but there is $1 coupon for Adam and Eve organice Juice in the greenwise magazine I got in the mail today and there is also a $1 off publix coupon in the Winter Family savings booklet. Should make for a good price on organic Juice.

      • Jenny

It does! The bottles are on advantage buy for $2.75 I think…

      • The Publix coupon is for 8 packs of boxed juice and the mq is for $1/2, so you’d have to buy two of the 8-packs and use two Publix q’s and one mq. I don’t know how much they are though. I plan on checking tomorrow. :)

        • sarah

i just went today hoping to score this juice for free- sadly the 8 ct juice boxes, which is the size indicated on the Q are 2.99 each at my store.

    • Newbie

I was at Kroger this evening in Columbia on St. Andrews and felt a little uncomfortable with couponing. I had a $1.00 q from the Target site, but it was a manufacturer’s q. Kroger has Northern tissue on sale for $5.99 so I had my plan of action all figured out if the cashier gave me a hard time. This is a manufacturer q not a store q so how could they refuse? My cashier did refuse to take it and when I gave her my planned response, she said she had just gotten yelled at yesterday, as well as other cashiers, for taking any q with a competitor’s logo. (It did have the Target bullseye on it, but it stated it was a manufacturer q not a Target Web Q). I also had the woman behind me sighing loudly because I was taking too much time I guess, even though I had waited patiently in a long line for my turn. I don’t understand why couponing is becoming such a “bother”. I enjoy the savings very much as well as my husband. My 10-year-old daughter was amazed when she saw how much I saved this evening. I think that was a great lesson for her!

    • Bummer! My RP from 10/11 did not have any of these coupons :(

    • valerie

Has anyone else had any problems printing coupons from coupons.com through here or right from the site? It kept going to print then I guess time out now when I try it says that I need to install the printer. I have installed/unistalled about 100 times!

    • Dena

Can you use more than one $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon in one transaction? For instance, if you spend $75, can you use 3 of those coupons?

      • sara

No. I have never heard of a Publix taking more than one $ off $ purchase coupon. I will sometimes break my shopping down into couple of trips over the week (Publix is very near me) if I want to use more than one. I DO NOT GO OUT TO MY CAR AND COME BACK IN as I have heard some people do.

        • Dena

I didnt think so, I just thought I heard someone say they did that.. Im just happy with the 1 coupon! I broke it up into 2 orders once, but it was alot of work..

    • Ov

Publix on South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, GA has Northland Cranberry Juice 3 for $5. There is a coupon at http://www.northlandjuices.com for $1/2 or you can use the .50/1

    • Thanks for all these great tips! I went to Publix tonight and spent 26.53 for 29 items and saved 74.94!!! What an awesome trip! I did not have 3 of the winter savings booklets because I only take 2 like I’m supposed to and have not found them but one time, but I used the $7 off 2 Phazyme’s and made $4.02 on the purchase. That was awesome! And by the way, if you shop at the Publix on Fairview Rd in Simpsonville, Krystal is a GEM of a cashier. VERY nice and even took my $10 off $40 Bloom coupon after my total was only $36 (after all my coupons). Way to go Krystal! I will look for her again! She did not even question it.

    • anna

can publix give you a rain check for a produte in sale on the store and not in the weekly ad??thanks
my publix did not have any green advantage left, i went friday and paid 2.99 for the tylenol cold,it’s ok i guess right:)

      • Publix does not give rainchecks for the ads in the Advantage Buy Flyer.

    • Vanessa

I did the same “coupon train” as Jenny, however, there were people taking the pasta sauce coupons off the cheese. How RUDE!!! The intended person for the coupon is the buyer of the product that the peelie is on!!!

    • Adele

I was able to print Barber coupons from Jenny’s link, as well as from their website. Don’t forget to register at their website for the $25 Publix gift card.

    • Yes my Publx’s getting meaner too…Not so much fun to shop there….
But on the otherhand all the cashers look as f they are not happy anyways.. Perhaps because of management some of these people aren’t happy.

    • I want to say that I LOVE my Publix store. The Store Manager and his staff are all wonderful. I will not shop anywhere else. They appreciate couponers and understand that coupons are money. He also understands that through our word of mouth, many people shop there that would normally shop elsewhere.

While some Publix stores may be scrutinizing, not all are doing it. A big kudos to the Maryland Farms store in Brentwood, TN. :)

      • oh, and I drive an hour each way to go to this store, passing at elast four others to get there. Totally worth the drive.

        • Maria

Oh! I’m gonna keep that in mind. I live in East Nashville and there isn’t a Publix any where near me. Been driving to the Belle Meade store and they’ve been great! The Long Hollow store is not so great…

    • i must be crazy, but i do not have the $10/3 or the $7/2 advantage brands. can anyone help me out… what picture was shown on that coupon. is advantage a brand and they sell several different items. help. it is late, but maybe i am not so crazy.

      • I never found them in my paper either.

      • meg

The coupons had a picture ofabout a dozen tiny boxes of their products lined up on them.

    • Phillis

Anyone know where you can find the Jones sausage rolls in the middle tn area? I can find the links but not the rolls.

    • Christina

Can anyone confirm for me exactly how Publix has changed their coupon policy? I went in last night and they wouldn’t take Babies R Us coupon for diapers. I really wish there was a way to know when they make any changes…I hate being at the register and being told I can’t use my coupons. Plus I sometimes get told different rules by different cashiers.

      • sarah

my publix only accepts grocery store coupons from grocery store chains they are in direct competition with. Meaning no drug store or target coupons, and no babies r us coupons either. Ive never known my store to accept babies r us coupons, but I know they stopped taking target and drug store coupons several months ago. My understanding is that each store really can set their own guidelines, since each stores “competitors” will vary based on location.

    • twyla

Hi Jenny… Thank you so much for saving my family soooo much money!!! one question….is it ok to use a printable or manf. coupon And one of the blinkies or peelies on the same product. I think ive done this before just want to make sure its legal.. :) thank you so much!

      • Amy B.

ONLY 1 Manufacturers coupon per item regardless of the source (if the barcode starts with a 5 or 9 its a Man. Q).

        • twyla

ok… Thank you :) these dont start with a 5 or 9 so guess its ok :)

    • twyla

oh I must let you know I just made my trip to publix and got 181.00 worth of groceries for 56.00 …I think I did pretty good :) Thank you soooo much!! God bless all your efforts!!!

    • allison

I just started working on this and I saved 21 dollars today off my bill…over 20%…I am so excited. And I didn’t buy anything I didn’t need. This could be addictive!

    • Gina

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone at Publix. I used the coupons to get the Phazyme and Contac today and should have received the $5.53 overage towards other items. However, the cashier told me that I could not use coupons that ended up being more than the cost of the items. She adjusted all of my store coupons to 16 cents instead of the $2 off. It was still free, but I was dissapointed that I could not apply the overage to other items. Is this Publix’s policy with overage on coupons? Has anyone else had this happen?

      • twyla

I think it depends on the store. My neighborhood Publix lets me have the overage… but the two other Publix’s I sometimes shop at adjust the coupon :(

      • Natalie

Yep, if the cashier catches it they are supposed to adjust the store coupons. But they cannot adjust a manufacturer’s as they get the face value of the coupon returned to them plus a handling charge.

    • Gina

Thank you! That makes me feel better know that I know why it happened! It was free so I can’t complain!

      • Glory

EXACTLY it was free so why complain. You win the store doesn’t LOSE and all SHOULD BE HAPPY. Seems to me if the store continues to PAY (with overages)the customers to shop there they will not be in business long. We all should be HAPPY the stores take the coupons to start with.

        • Susan

Publix is turning that Q in to the manufacturer to get reimbursed for the full amount, not just .16. They are now “making money” from that coupoin that they refused overage on to you. I was told by a store manager that he has no right to adjust a coupon down exactly for this reason.
