This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure here.

There are a couple of great deals on the front page of the Office Depot ad this week. Also, don’t forget the $10 off $20 coupon. Remember, the stores get reimbursed for manufacturer coupons, so you should be able to combine them with the store coupon.

Also if all the products are gone at your store, you can take the ad for a price match at Target.

    • Kdguice

I just signed up to receive their emails, and I wasn't directed to any kind of coupon?? Where can I get the $10 off $20 coupon?

      • Ruralreality

i found it on their facebook page — scrool down – it's RED

    • Amy

I can't find the coupon. Any help?

      • Amy

        I can't find the 10 off coupon.

        • lovedbyGod2

It's on their facebook page without having to sign up for an email.

    • Steph M.

If you send me an email to sxydaytonagrl at aol dot com, I will send you the coupon.

    • Jessicaharrison1123

Just fyi…the mail in rebate is when you purchase $20 of labels

    • tishA

what is the prepaid visa rebate?

      • Steph M.

Instead of getting a paper check for the rebate, they send you a prepaid Visa card. A little more of a pain in the butt because you have to spend exactly 4.99, but the same thing.

        • Susave45

you can buy something over 4.99, you just pay with your prepaid card first and tell the cashier it's credit for 4.99 and you will pay for the rest another way. I always use mine for groceries. you don't have to use it at office depot.

      • macboy

Still haven't gotten my Visa from a paper purchase in AUGUST. I know there is a 8-10 week wait, but they've all usually come in way early.

    • Amber Renee

how does the avery coupon work since the item is only $1? can i buy two packages of dividers or will the cashier have to adjust the price to only deduct $1 from my total? i'm a little paranoid after going through such problems at walgreens yesterday with the coffemate scenario. also, the post-it label coupon reads that only one coupon is permitted per purchase…anybody have luck using multiple? any help would be appreciated. thank you!

      • Ruralreality

walgreens is horrible – i just don't do them anymore — it's always “some” issue and its intimidating for sure !

        • Sherryberry7570

i agree walgreens is horrible but free nivia body wash this week so i went anyways

        • Laura

Agreed…Walgreens is very harsh on couponers, and I can't stand how they make the customer feel like they're doing something wrong or “sneaky” when we try to use coupons that they're going to be reimbursed for by the manufacturer. CVS is sooo much better.

I've also come to realize that Staples is much more customer friendly than Office Depot, however with OD, it depends on the store, as there is one in Largo, FL that has a manager willing to bend over backwards for customers.

          • Practice_peace

My experience is opposite. I have had GREAT cashiers at Walgreens. They have just asked that I check out in cosmetics so that I don't hold up the line in the front of the store. Everytime I had couponed in CVS I had to get a new card because the register denied mine. I called the 800# and was told that it was because of questionable activity on my card. If questions are raised because I use too many coupons I will take them to Walgreens instead!

      • Caity

They let me buy 2 per coupon. :-)

    • Carolmcq

Just signed up for the emails but no coupon, where do you get this coupon and the one for the paper also??????

    • Sedwards

I just got back from office depot and they informed me they no longer take MF Coupons (but the manager did take them this time). Also there is a limit of three.

      • Shanna

        which store?

      • Eepiphani

Staples is closer for me so i use the office depot coupons there along with the rewards i get back from turning in my empty ink cartridge containers to purchase ink for my printer.

    • Shanna

I have a couple questions – has anyone tried this?

The IndexMaker -$2 coupon explicitly says that “no other coupon can be used with this coupon” – does that mean only one of this Q can be used per transaction? Of course, it also says “LIMIT ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE. ANY OTHER USE CONSTITUTES FRAUD” but I figure that like all other coupons that say “one per purchase” that translates as “one per item.” But despite all of that, how are coupons that exceed the purchase price of the item treated at Office Depot? What happens when you use this -$2 coupon on the $1 item?

      Would this scenario work?

      (2) Avery Index Maker for $1.00 ea
      (2) -$2 off coupons
      (3) Post-Its for $1.00 ea
      (3) -$1 off coupons
      (2) Office Depot multipurpose paper at $5.99 ea
      (4) Scotch Donut Dispenser at $1.00 each
      (4) -.50 off coupons
      (1) $10 off $20 purchase

      subtotal: $20.98 plus tax
      less $10 off Q = $10.98
      less (4) -.50 = $8.98
      less (3) -$1 (postit) = $5.98
      less (2) -$2 (avery) = $3.98 or $1.98 <= would these Qs deduct $2 or $1 each?

      • Lorinbob

Theoretically that should work. Have you tried it yet?

    • Ryanandbridget2010

So i went to office depot today (New port richey Florida) they told me they dont take coupons and that they dont just give stuff away for free!! the manager was involved too and no progress.. never shopping there again!!

      • macboy

Just tell them that you will take the coupon to WAL-MART and price match. I'm sure they'll like that. :-)

        • Spleanna

          I like that.

    • Jo

Oh My Gosh! I went to grab my freebies today anwound up arguing with the RUDEST cashier ever. Had to get the manager involved and I also sent an email to corporate. She basically slammed me for using a coupon on something that only costs 1.00! She was like ” why are you doing this anyway?” It just doesnt make sense to me” Uhhhh!!!!

      • lovedbyGod2

I had the same issue!!! I am too calling corporate, they don't seem to understand that they get this money back!

    • Pittresident

how is the tax calculated? If I buy 10 items for a $1 each and use 10 $1 coupons, would there be any tax? If total is 0, then tax on 0 should be 0…but atleast in CVS it depends on the cashier.

    • lovedbyGod2

Office Depot on Harbisson will not do the Avery coupon. Talked to the assistant manager who had the nerve to even act incredulous that I was trying to use them (though I had a filler item).

    • Msjemayer

So disappointed with my Office Depot experience. I did manage to get out with some of the deals, but oh…what an ordeal.

    • USAFwife

I go to Office Depot in Warrensburg, MO, and the cashier said she takes manufacturer's coupons (although I did not use any). I have been there several times this week to use the $10 off $20 (one expired on the 16th, and the other was good from the 17th to the 20th). Every time has been an awesome experience. Whenever I looked confused searching for an ink cartridge (which was every single visit), someone always asked if I needed help. I haven't had a difficult or rude experience yet. I don't know what the difference is between my stores and the stores that are getting negative feedback, but I just had to speak up in support of my store.

    • Lakathryn

I actuallyhad to run in our Florence, SC Offce Depot last week to get ink. I had been playing the game four quare on my iphone and when I checked in they had a $10.00 off coupon! I didnt think they would take it but they did punched in the code it gave them and it worked like a charm! Also the cashier was awsome! So KUDOS to my store!

    • Caity

Just got home from Office Depot (on Sam. Rit., Charleston). The cashier told me they could only take one manufacturers' coupon per transaction. I asked to double check “Isn't it one per item?” But, she insisted. So, I put back what I was going to use the $10off20 coupon on b/c it wasn't quite $20 on its own without the things I had coupons for. And, she rang me up 12 different times because I had 12 different man. coupons. She was really patient about it, but I felt kinda embarrassed holding up the line like that. :-/ Just a note for those wondering- They did let me use the $2 off Avery coupon as long as I had 2 for every coupon I used. Also, some of the packs at my store were b1g1 free (10 in the package instead of just 5), so be sure to look carefully. :-)

    • Lisa

Location of Gulf to Bay and Belcher in Clwtr, FL would not take the coupons. It took 20 minutes of the cashier and manager voiding and trying to re-ring the transaction, only to be told that in order to use the $1 manufacturer coupon they would have to charge me the regular price of the item, not the sales price. I have never heard of that before, but I guess they got what they wanted..to get me out of the store. Good idea to try price matching at Walmart, but not sure if they carry the items.

      • Terri

Hi Lisa, I am sorry to hear about your troubles at the Gulf to Bay Store in Clearwater, FL. I just did 6 transactions at the Countryside location ( US HWY 19 and Enterprise. ) The manager and cashier stated that I could only use only 1 coupon per transaction, so I had 6 transactions. I was able to use the $2 avery index divider coupon on 2 packs of index dividers. The cashier was nice and patient and checked out a couple customers between my transactions, which I had no problem with.

    • Misstristyn

My store was already completely out of the post it and avery stuff. I was very disappointed. Seems like 2nd day of the sale you should still have some of the stuff on the front page of your ad….

    • rookie couponer

Where can I find a great deal on ink cartridge for a hp Photosmart C4640 printer?

    • Caroline

Does anyone know if they are good about giving the prepaid visa card if you use the -$10 off $20 coupon on the transaction?

    • Rae

I am glad I am not the only one that had a negative experience!! I was told by the manager (get this!) that using more than one coupon when I checked out was stacking and it was (this part in hushed tone) actually illegal! I said “Oh, I think I understand, you mean if I try to use three coupons for one package of tape, right? But I can use a coupon for tape, then another coupon for labels, right? They are even different companies.” He said, “Oh, no! That's stacking. You can only use one coupon, period.” I almost fell out laughing (inside, that is). But he did let the poor cashier ring me up 9 separate times. The Avery dividers were a lost cause…I would rather pay full freakin' retail than try to EVERY use a coupon at Office Depot again!! I love this site so much! Lets me see others' experiences so I know I'm not crazy or trying to do something wrong.

    • ChrissyPunkin

I'm so sorry to hear about everyone's bad experiences. My store in Montgomery was pretty good about it today. They wouldn't take the $2 off Avery labels because it was for more than the item and they wouldn't take my $10/$20 until after coupons, but I still got some great deals. I got 2 Avery labels, 4 tapes, 3 label pads, 3 highlighters, and 2 multipurpose paper for $12 and change. Plus I get the rebates (theoretically:-)). Good luck to everyone else. They were out of most of the other items.

    • AngBrum

Went today in Chesterfield, VA and did not have a problem with $10 off coupon, got a ream of colored paper, 4-4 color pens, bottle of glue, 8pk travel tissues, and the donut tape for $12.98.

    • sal

My Office Depot in Clermont would not take the Avery coupons :( because it totaled more than the product. I tried to get 2 so it would equal $2 but they wouldn't budge… I don't think they were too happy about me getting stuff for free! On the other hand, I am very excited about post-it notes that I can use in my classroom and it didn't cost me anything :)

      • dlaney

I had the same thing happen to me. I had other items I was buying as well and the cashier would not take the Avery coupons.

    • EB

My Office Depot has a 10 ream pack of HP paper for 29.99 and you get a free 5 lb bag of Jolly Ranchers when you buy it. Combined with the $10 off coupon, I got a $42 box of printer paper I needed and more than enough halloween candy for $20.

    • LS

My office depot in Charlottesville, VA would not take any manufacturer coupons! They said, we only take office depot ones. I had not had a problem until now. I beginning not to like Office Depot and will stick with Staples from here on out.

      • Michelle

I finally got Office Depot to give me something in writing about their coupon policy. This took several days and many calls and emails to get. I can forward the email to you, if you like?

It seems to be something made up “on the fly” to have something in writing. However, it does have the person's name, position, contact info, etc.

Basically, it states that they do take manufacturer's coupons, based on the stipulations on that coupon. And, the only other stipulation would be if you are trying to combine it with an Office Depot coupon, it's possible that the Office Depot coupon might mention something about not using it with a manufacturer's coupon. But, if not, no other stipulations.

    • Shannono11

My store in Lawrenceville, GA was awesome! They let me use all of my Avery coupons in 1 transaction. I bought 6 Avery Index Label Packs, 3 Post-it Label Packs, and 3 Disney Lunch Sack packs (these are so cute!). The manager told her to combine the coupons when she entered it in the computer. My total was $0! She was surprised and so was I! Maybe some of you will get to use your coupons, too. I am going back again this week to get some things on clearance and use the $10/$20 coupon. Good Luck everyone!

    • Rachel

I went to Office Depot yesterday and tried to purchase 2 packs of the 5.99 paper but it didn't print the rebates…Anyone else have this problem?

    • Catharine

I have a question about the 3M rebate. It says “Buy $20 or more of any 3M Permanent Label and/or Post-It Removable Label product by December 31, 2010 and receive a $10 rebate by mail” Can't remember where I found it, maybe the 3M site. Anyway, do you actually have to show that you spent $20 or could you use receipts from the Office Depot debacle, I mean purchase. (I had some of the same problems as have been mentioned) How do rebate usually work?

    • Leyly

I went to two different office depots near Marietta, GA. The first one wouldn't take my manufacturer's coupons. I went to another one and they took them but they only took off $1 for the Avery dividers. Better than nothing i figured. I bought 4 Avery dividers, 3 tapes, 1 sony headphones, 2 packs of glue sticks, small calculator, pencil holder, check size envelope holder and a small notebook for $6.00. I was pretty happy.

    • leastcmplicated

Starting on the 24th they will have a 10 ream pack of paper on sale for $19.99 (instant savings) combine that with the $10 off $20 coupon and you get a 10 ream pack for $9.99 (plus your candy bar filler).

Where do you get the $4.99 rebate form for the prepaid visa when you buy paper?
