August is here and a lot of us are thinking about the kids going back to school (or you’ve already started back). For homeschooling moms, it’s always nice to get a little encouragement to get us back into gear for the year! Veteran homeschooler, Lori Hatcher, has written straight to the heard of stressed and tired parents in her book Joy in the Journey. With humor and faith, she shares lessons from her own homeschooling journey and challenges you to press on.
The book is broken into months with a group of devotions related to each month. There’s a different devotional for every week of the school year, and Lori tackles tough subjects such as discouragement, sibling relationships, busyness, priorities, and character training (yours and theirs).
She sent me a book of my own to review a few months ago, and it was such a joy to be able to read it! Every devotion was very applicable, and they were short enough for me to read during the stolen moments of the day.
Joy in the Journey is relevant for families no matter where they are in their homeschooling journey. We’ve been homeschooling for three years, and it’s still just as relevant to us today. Whether you have 1st graders, or your kids are moving on to college, I would say it was time well spent to find refreshment and encouragement.
