Publix Grape Juice 64oz.

You can get the Publix Penny item with any purchase that is $10 or more before coupons. There is a Mystery Penny Item coupon in the Publix Sunday Ad every week or somewhere in the Sunday Paper. Some stores do not require this coupon, but many have changed and do require it now, check with your store to find their policy.

Get all of this weeks Publix Deals and Coupon Matches! There is also Yellow Advantage Buy Flyer with lots of deals.

**Note: FL and Coastal GA stores DO NOT participate in the Penny Item**

A thought… You will not get much closer to free, so if you don’t need, like or want this item, then give it away. There are many folks that would probably love it!

    • Hooray! We love grape juice.

    • Tanya Hendrix

This may have been announced on this site already but the cashier at my Publix in BHM,AL said starting the first of the year the Penny Item Promotion will be on Wednesdays versus Sundays.

      • The full page Sunday ad on page 5A in The Bhmn News reads – Now every Wednesday will bring a pleasant surprise. Everyone loves the Publix Mystery Coupon, because it gets you a valuable item for just one cent at your neighborhood Publix. Beginning Wednesday, January 6, you’ll find the coupon in this newspaper instead of in the Publix ad. Be sure to find it and cut it out so you can get your pleasant surprise—for only a penny.

      • For metro Atlanta, the full page ad in the Sunday Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that the coupon will be in the Thursday newspaper starting Jan. 7.

        • Michelle

So will it still be for Sunday/Monday purchase, or will it be for Thursday purchase?

          • I guess that’s a mystery for now. The ad doesn’t give the details.

          • Alicia W.

It will be for Wednesday only, the first day of the ad (or maybe Thursday for some people).

            • Michelle

My Publix in Douglasville GA said it will only be on Thursday. The coupon will be in the AJC for the penny item.

          • Christine

The coupon will be for the first day of the ad in your area.

      • Jenn

I am so happy about this!!! Trying to get to the store on Sunday/Monday is quite a challenge :(

        • ginger

Not me…that means I have to buy another newspaper…I only buy Sundays and they are going up .50 1/2010.

          • becky

Check with the service desk. I forgot my coupon, but the manager said I could still get the item for a penny. I just reminded the cashier and had no problem.

            • Heather

Today, I overheard the cashier tell the customer in front of me that they will require the coupon and are going to be much more strict about it. I suppose it’s up to each store as to how they implement.

    • traci

      Love this penny item!

    • Brandilina

Can someone tell me how this works..if I have 6 penny item coupons and sped $60.00 before coupons can I get 6 of the penny item? Or is it one coupon per transaction?

      • Dianne

        One coupon per transaction.

        • Victoria

You would have to leave the store and come back 6 times – make it 6 different “trips” to the store. My husband and I shop after church and put half in his buggy, half in mine. Than we go to separate cashiers and get 2 penny items.

          • Bag Lady

Be careful, its people who abuse it that are part of the reason Publix will eventually get rid of the penny item. Watch..two years from now max they’ll nix it Im betting.

The store I shop at will begin to require the coupon in January. No coupon = No item.

            • Christine

              You are so right!

          • Michele

That really upsets me to hear you say that you are taking advantage of a program that’s meant to encourage people to shop at Publix. Don’t you realize the company loses money on the penny item? Don’t you realize that from people taking advantage they will be forced to not only eliminate the program, but raise their prices to make up for losing so much. They are in business to make a profit, not have people steal from them, which is essentially what you are doing.

      • Michelle

Ask the service desk at your Publix, one of mine says one coupon per transaction and the other one will allow 2 coupons with $20 purchase.

    • Alyson

Bummer here, love Publix and the penny item, but I don’t get the Thursday paper. Not real happy about the change!

    • Jennifer

I get the items always without the coupon….I just ask if I can have the penny item and they give it to me….

    • qponing09

Did everyone get a Publix ad in their Sunday paper? I didn’t see one but I did see the information about the penny item coupon now being in the Wednesday papers. Thanks.

    • Doesn’t Publix offer a senior citizen discount in the Columbia area of 5 percent??

    • Grape Juice!

Deborah – is that true about the 5% at Publix for senior citizens?

      • Jenny

Yes, Wednesday at any store other than Florida stores.

    • Cindy B.

Oh, that’s a bummer. I guess I’m not going to be able to get the penny item anymore, since we only get the weekend paper. I don’t think it would be worth the hassle of purchasing just the Wed. paper each week. I always looked forward to each’s week’s item! :(

    • Irene

I went to a Publix in Marietta, GA, on Sandy Plains and Shallowford Rd today. The penny item was a large bag of M&Ms, there were almond and peanut M&Ms in the bin.

      • Susan

I went to the Publix yesterday at Sandy Plains and Hwy 92 and the penny item was hot chocolate.

    • Anne Marie

My Publix in Canton, GA had bleach- bummer!

    • karlee

In Easley SC the penny item was a publix crispy crust pizza. They also told me in January it would change to wednesday.

      • Amanda

I, too, scored the pizza today in Easley! : ) I was very happy to get that. I think they originally had the juice, since when the cashier went to take off the $, it said juice, but pizza is even better! : ) Thanks for the info on the penny item change to Wednesdays. That will suit me better since I do my shopping on Wed! : )

    • Rebecca

I just got back from Publix in Canton, GA and they said NO penny item! She told me about it being on Thursdays only starting in January, but that doesn’t mean she had to deny me today! It’s so frustrating…I even had to explain to her why I could use two coupons on one item (store & manuf)

      • meg

        Which Publix in Canton?

    • Tonda

My Publix in Warner Robins GA had a sign up at the register that the mystery item would be on Wed Starting in January. We never need a coupon. They just give me the item for a penny. I always know what I’m looking for from this site. Thanks!

    • Kelly

Just wanted to share that the penny item at the Birmingham, AL store located at Valleydale and Caldwell Mill is Duncan Hines cake mix.

    • Laura

Does the minimum $10 purchase before coupons include the price of the juice? Just wondering b/c I have never had any problems and tonight the cashier gave me a hard time about the total but she held the juice to the side and did not ring it. The total was only $9 before she added the juice.

      • Christine

The $10 is without the penny item.

    • susan

I work for them and It’s true, Publix is moving the penny item from Sundays & Mondays to just on Wednesday! This change January 6, 2010. You should start to see print ads about this change.

      • Heather

Do you know the reason? I asked the cashier today if it was to drive more traffic in the store and she didn’t know. Just curious.

    • Jessica

Love this site! Thanks for all of the great tips…my Sunday penny item was sugar and not grape juice.(In Bham Alabama)

    • gjn

I also do not consider this a pleasant surprise. I have no intention of running out to buy a newspaper on Wednesdays.
It would seem that Publix and the big newspapers are in cahoots to sell more newspapers. In order to get a newspaper delivered on Wednesdays, you have to get at least a subscription for Mon. through Fri. This is on top of the weekend subscription in order to get the inserts.
And they have not yet said which day of the week that the coupon can be used on. There is no reason to suspect that the coupon will be good ON Wednesdays, instead of Sundays and Mondays.
      A very unpleasant surprise indeed.

      • Laura

        • Amy

My cashier told me starting in January that the item would be offered only on Thursdays (first day of the ad for Georgia stores).

          • Heather

Mine told me the same thing, Thursdays in GA.

      • Christine

The coupon will be for the first day of the ad only.

      • Golfmom

        Paranoid much> Cohoots? Really?

    • Maehing O

In the Charleston SC area the Post and Courier had a one page ad that announced the penny item coupon will be featured in Wednesday’s paper. Depending on the store, you may or may not need the coupon!

      Regardeless…. Publix rocks! Happy shopping!

    • Kim

Hmmmm…..I’m now considering canceling my Sunday subscription and just going with printable coupons. It seems as though most of the time I can get the coupons I want with the printables and not the inserts. Anyone else do just the printables?

    • Ashleigh

The Publix in Taylors, SC had the penny item as Lipton tea bags.

    • Shiloh Kennedy

The penny item at the Publix in Hixson TN is Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet morsels !!!

    • Shiloh Kennedy

I was informed today at the Publix in Hixson TN that they will no longer accept competitor coupons for produce after the 1st. Only specific Q’s. (I used a $2 off of $5 worth of produce Q from food lion to buy the bananas and apples that were on sale)

    • AJ

Caution: Publix is becoming very strict with regards to ALL coupons! Not just the penny coupon! They are now requiring that you hand them all of your coupons before they begin to check you out and they will carefully review all of your purchases to make absolutely certain they match the picture on the coupon. If it doesn’t they will not accept the coupon.

      • Alisha

It is because of the couponers that abuse the liberal coupon policy that the company is beginning to tighten its belt. (And before anyone has a hissy fit, NOT ALL abuse it)

It only takes once for a cashier to get burned (and chewed ROYALLY by their boss) by a coupon scammer for that same cashier to become suspicious of all coupons. Best advice is to not get impatient, just let the cashier do his/her job.

I use coupons, and used to cashier at the company during the summer, and because of those trying to trick me, I became what many would call “non-coupon friendly” when it came to watching what was going into and out of that till. I wouldnt back down to manipulation either, but would immediately call my manager. Because at the end of the day, *I* was completely responsible for it. Some of the things people try to pull you wouldnt believe….

        Just an ex-cashier’s two cents.

    • Rebekah

i just became interested in shopping at Publix b/c i heard that is where the great deals are. I was completely shocked to find a grocery store to take like a RA coupon for $5/$20 or something like that…I understand they are cutting that back from lots of you posting.

I agree with the EX-Cashier above..I used to work at FRED’S. We took Qs and double up to $0.75 on saturday…..so I know wher she is coming from. I also worked at ACMoore and you wouldn’t believe what some people would try lol…

Yeah not all of use abuse Qs. I feel as if you buy them from places like Ebay or you buy 20 sundays papers that is def going overboard. my only exception is if it on a product you use on a daily basis or its the only product that agrees with your body chemistry (ie deo or soap, diapers..) for this i see it ok with getting mutiplies but doing it the right way thru the SoutherSavers Q Trading…

I snag the Qs inserts from my mom’s sunday paper b/c 9 times out of 10 she wont use any of them and they will probably go to waste. But she knows if I clip them she can straight up ask me if I have one or some she needs.
      That’s my opinion…

    • Denise

The Publix in Taylors, SC had hot chocolate (that I got a couple of weeks ago) for 1 cent. They ran out of grape juice (which I really wanted) an hour before I got there which was about 2 P.M. on Monday.

    • Nicole

Just was informed by the publix manager here in TN that the penny item will be switched to Wednesday’s only starting 1/6/2010. He told me the company is losing too much money.

    • Where in the newspaper is the penny item coupon? Does it come in the Wednesday or Sunday paper? I searched my Sunday paper today and could not find it.
