Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

It’s Publix planning time again.  This is a great ad with so many items that have coupons to go with them.  Many are from this past weeks paper, I think Publix might have actually planned ahead for us!

Next week the new Publix ad will start on Friday Nov. 27th.  Publix will be closed on Thanksgiving.

*Note: Just like your weekly coupon inserts, weekly ads also have variations.  You might find prices a few cents higher or lower but the deals will all be the same*

1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price **
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are.50¢ or less **

** #1 and #5 do not apply in FL and coastal GA**

For the full Publix coupon policy go here.

If you are new  read up on what this list means and how to effectively use this list to save the most.

    • Jess

At Target the Del Monte Canned vegs are 45c each. If you buy 8 and use the Target IP for $1 off 6 and the manuf. coupon for $1 off 8 it makes them 20c each!

      • Mina

Thank you, Jess! I already had some grocery shopping to do at Target later this week. Now, I’ll be adding those veggies to my list. :-)

      • Erinn

Yes! I stocked up on canned veggies at Target this past weekend! They have several items on sale. I think the canned veggies for $.45/each and the Stove Top stuffing for $.79/ea were the best deals!

        • Dana

          newbie here,

what is the IP as it is referred to in Jess’s comment on November 17th? Also, is there a coupon to go with the Stove top stuffing offered for 79 cents at Target?

          • donna

            IP means internet printable.

    • Ajrl

Does publix accept CVS coupons ($5 off $25 ect.)? Also, where do you find the green advantage buy flyer? I went today and had to ask customer service for the yellow one (I was thinking the Dove deal was in there)…so would customer service have the green one too? Today was my first “couponing” trip and I saved $47!! Thanks so much for all your help and for a GREAT site!

      • Sarah

Every Publix differs between what is considered a competitor, so you’ll want to ask customer service, but most likely they won’t.

I have to ask for my Green Advantage flyer at customer service. They never have them out at my store.

      • Weslie

My Publix doesn’t take the CVS coupons that require you use your extra care card to redeem them but they will take the generic 5 off a 20 purchase from CVS and Rite Aid with a standard bar code.

The Green Advantage Flyer came out before the yellow one, so definitely ask up at customer service but they may be out of them already.

      • jonna franklin

publix in Hueytown do accept CVS Rite Aid and Walgreen off coupons and coupons on specific items also

      • Wendy

I dont know what Publix you shop at but the one in Knightsville does take the Cvs coupons. However they just recently quit taking the Harvey’s and Kroger coupons. Again this is just the one in Knightsville (summerville sc). I cant’ speak for the other Publix but I would imagine they would all be the same.

      • Kim

The Publix on Peachtree Indust. next to Moore Road is taking all competitors coupons right now. However, starting on Dec. 1 they will ONLY take Kroger coupons and no other competitors.

    • Morgan

If we weren’t going out of town tomorrow I would be shopping at Publix… Lots of good deals this week!

      • AngelaDH

Yeah, we’re headed out of town and hubby isn’t so thrilled that I’m doing a Publix and BiLo run before we leave. We’re out of cream cheese and it’s on sale now. :)

    • Amy

You amaze me. You have revolutionized shopping for me. I can’t thank you enough.

There’s a $1/2 coupon for Breyers ice cream on the Save a Lot site.

    • jennifer

Does anyone know if the ritz crackerfuls qualify for the $10 rebate??

      • Stacey

I don’t think they are included. They aren’t listed on the rebate form and the rebate specifies 7oz to 16.5 oz size pkgs. The crackerfuls are 6oz boxes.

      • Amanda

Not sure. The rebate states “crackers” so I’m not sure if those qualify as a “cracker” or more as a snack product.???

    • pharmSCgirl

Just wondering if you get to see the sales early. My weekly sales online still has last weeks up. I know the Bi-Lo sales paper is already up online. Thanks for all the hard work you do and I hope you never get burnt out doing this, b/c it would take all of us a lot longer to figure out what to buy and what coupons are available. Again thanks and God Bless!

      • Jenny

I do get an early ad. It will be up tonight at midnight for you to see though on publix.com

        • pharmSCgirl

Thanks! I just like looking at the pretty pictures. haha

        • Tiffany

I also want to thank you for this AWESOME site… I have been buying this way along time, but I have already saved more with your help. Thank you so much keep up the great work..
How do you post an original comment….

The Breakstone Sour Cream coupon in the Publix winter flyer is for 24 oz, (still a great deal) maybe other stores don’t care but mine did. Thanks again.

    • Jennifer

I’ve been waiting to use those Dole printable coupons! This is the week…free pineapple…yay!

      • Diana

Where did you get the Dole printable coupons?

    • Amber

What is the winter savings booklet?? Does it have store coupons??
Thanks for all you do Jenny! It is apprecitated more than you know.
I went to Publix today and saved $98.89 and spent $44.00!! I was sooo excited!!

      • Megan A.

I got one on Saturday from a lady who was giving samples at the back of the store. She had a stack of them on her table. I haven’t seen them anywhere else, though. She only gave me one, so I’d like to find them again and pick up another.

      • Jenni

I had to ask the actual store manager, who kept them in a room behind customer service. He said that “stack swipers” were wiping them out all in one day, and so he puts them out only a few at time so that more people have a chance to get them. I told him I appreciated that, and apologized on behalf of all couponers for the few crazies out there that can sometimes ruin it for everyone else. I did ask him if I could take two, though. *sheepish smile* He asked that I only take one, but politely assured me that if he walked away and I took one more I wouldn’t be in trouble. But after hearing what troubles they’ve had, I decided I was just fine with just one after all.

    • Dave

I have a question for you….the one for cool whip says its a publix coupon and it says retailer coupon…is this considered a store coupon (can I stack a manuf. coupon on it as well)? or is it considered a manuf. coupon? t hanks for your help

      • Jenny

It is really a manufacturer coupon so you shouldn’t use it with another coupon. Sorry :(

        • YBMOM

I was told by my local publix store that if a retailer coupon does not have a bar code on it ,it is considered a store coupon and can be combined with a manufacture coupon.

          • Christy

I took one to Bi-Lo and asked if it was considered a “competitor coupon”because they will only accept three in one transaction…I wanted to plan my coupons well…it has barcode and it scanned, but he said that they DO NOT get reimbursed for those…It seems to me that if it scans and doubles, it MUST be a manufacturer coupon…they ended up taking ALL of my competitor Q’s without me asking. The manager, cashier and bag boy were super nice and the manager said to “take all of my coupons and be sure I was well-taken care of.” WOW! I’ll go back with or without Q’s…I guess that was his goal…<

    • LOC

Publix coupons that are stackable do not have a barcode. Eventhough, it is to be redeem at Publix, it is a manuf. (start with a 5). I am enjoying this site!!!

      • Dave

thank you…I was hoping they were store coupons and I could stack…so the store coupons are like those in the brochure type things…what about the ones that come out of the dispensers in the store?

        • pharmSCgirl

The coupons in the dispensers at the store (or also called blinkies) are manufacturer coupons and be careful b/c a lot of times they say do not double.

      • Amy B.

Actually, Publix has started putting barcodes on *some* store coupons. Both of the last 2 Family Style Magazines had a tear out sheet with publix coupons and an LU#. These started with a 0, rather than a 5 or 9 like a man. Q. I’m hoping that Publix is switching to where they can scan their coupons so the cashiers don’t have to punch in all those numbers!

        • Erinn

Yes… some of the store coupons have barcodes now. My Baby Club coupons all have barcodes. Almost all coupons have a box or a statement on the front stating their distributor (Manufacturer, Publix, etc.)

        • Leann

If you go through a Self Scan machine you can put in the LU# yourself. I had a cashier show me the other day how to do it and also the Walgreens RR have a barcode on them so you can scan them yourself. I just like to go through the Self Scan to make sure everything rings up right and the coupon comes off. The cashier’s are too fast for me to check it as they are scanning. Takes more time but definitely worth the trouble.

    • Molly

I cannot find the Glas coupon on that site? Does anyone else have any luck? also, is it just me or is the redplum site messing up too?

      • Jenny

Red Plum is messing up tonight. It is really frustrating as I try to get the rest of these lists done!! It is stuck on page one for some reason. Try back in the morning and it will probably be fine they are loading some new things on their site tonight.

    • The Tennessean’s version of the Swiss Miss coupon was $.50/2- making them $.99 for two. :)

    • Tausha

I just have to say that those of us up at 11:30 at night viewing what we can get next week really are CRAZY! It has become and obsession! Thanks Jenny for all you do. I’m in the Tampa area of Florida, so we have a lot of little variations, but I can’t tell you how much you mean to my family…thanks again!!! Your family is blessed. Good Night :-)

      • CouponNERD

Heck yesssss! I check this site every hour on Tuesday nights so I can make my list and start clipping!
I may not make it to Publix until Saturday morning, but I am armed and READY!

      • Susan

        What she said… :-)

      • Shannon

I schedule my day off around sales.. how sad is that? And yes I am another that checks the site a 1000 times on Tuesday night.

      • Jenni

We may be crazy, but at least we are saving money like crazy, too! :)

      • Laura

You will find me too here at 9pm every Tuesday night ready with my coupons and waiting!
Thanks Jenny for everything, you will never know!!!!! :)

      • KK

If you live in Tampa, the Publix on Hillsborough and Sheldon Road is having their Grand Opening tomorrow, and its probably lasting all weekend. Just in case you want to check it out. :)

      • pickensmom4

I do the same thing. I have also impressed several family members and firends to catch the coupon bug. Thanks again Jenny for all you do. In the past week at Publix I saved $144.00. AWESOME!!!!!!

    • DeeDee

My list is ready and my q’s are printed! Can’t wait for Thursday to get here!!
THANK YOU JENNY!!! Love this site!!

    • Maranda

For the pet store coupons is it Est time when they will be available? I’m not seeing them at that link?

      • Jenny

I assumed it would be. The weekly ad says to go to publix.com/pet for coupons. But it is redirecting you to the ad for now. I got all of these in the mail today so you might want to look for them there too.

      • marina

The pet coupons are up now. I printed mine last night

    • Michelle in Martinez

I couldn’t get to the pet coupon site…it redirected me to the Publix weekly ad. :(

      • Susan

        Me too….

        • Hsv mom

When you get to the weekly ad page, look to the list on the left and there will be one called ‘Pet care”, click on it and it will take you to the coupons. Hope this helps.

    • ****FYI****

There is a rebate up to $2.50 on No Yolks in the 10/4 SS.

      • April

does it have a website listed? I do not see it in my ad!

    • Stephanie

is anyone else having trouble printing the jello coupon? It says I need to uncheck the Keep printed documents. Its not checked. I have no clue why it wont. Everything else printed fine.

    • M Rose

Consider me obsessed…there are worse things!!!

    • Mina

I check to see if the Bi-Lo info is up before I crash for the night, because Bi-Lo and Kroger are my Wednesday shops. If Publix’s is up, I check to see if there’s any info that I don’t already have.

A “Surprisingly Good”, but completely accidental thing happened to me on one trip to Publix this week. I wasn’t even thinking about my total when I headed to the checkout, only about accurately matching my q’s to the items in my cart. The total wound up being zero. LOL I would have stressed out so much if I’d try to plan that, and would have wound up tossing some small item into the cart to be sure I didn’t have overage.

      • Dianne

Wow! That is pretty amazing. Bet that felt good. You should be proud of yourself!

      • Stacey

Same here Mina- I would drive myself nuts trying to plan a ” free” shopping trip. I always just print my shopping list and grab the coordinating q’s. I was pleasantly surprised a few weeks ago when my total came to $0.62 overage and Publix (Murray Landing) paid me!

        • Rhonda

They paid you? My total at Bi-lo one time was -.15 cents and they were UPSET with me.

    • pamela

There are also peelies on some pkgs of chinet plates for a free dessert plate when you purchase a regular size plate. GREAT deal with the B1G1. Thanks for everything you do!!!

      • Tania

I found the same coupon on my plates, plus there was a blinkie for $1 off the cups! So, I got 72 plates (my lunch plates had 30% more in them!)and 18 tumblers for $1.00!!!!!

      • Caroline

Ours had a peeler for up to $3.00 worth of Chinet cups. They were sold out, so the store allowed Solo cups, which are more in each bag than the chinet!

    • amy

For me, the dole pineapple link goes straight to a flip and win game. Couldnt find any coupon for it. Is anyone else having this problem??

      • Lisa

After you play the game, there is a coupon that can be printed.

        • meg

when I played, it just said, sorry, you lose. No coupon, boo -hoo.

          • Lisa

In the middle of the “Sorry” note, theres a place you click to get the coupon. “You’ve also been rewarded with a coupon for delicious, healthy Dole products. Click here for coupon.”

    • Dianne

For all us “oldies but goodies”, my Publix offers 5% senior discount for 55 or older on Wed. I turned 55 in Aug., & getting this discount was the only redeeming factor. However, I rarely get there on Wed. Since this ad goes thru next Wed., I have plenty of time to get my plan made & Qs together to take advantage of this. It comes off before Qs, so should save me at least $5 & possibly $10 since it is such a good week. I’ll combine this discount w/ my $10 off $50 Winn Dixie Q, a free ham or turkey Q (up to $15) earned through Charter, & a $10 Honeybaked ham IP Q (checked already & accepted as competitor Q). That’s a substantial discount (possibly $45) before any other Qs. Here at the holidays, every bit really counts!

      • Snellmom

Thanks for the reminder. My mom is coming up on Tuesday, so we might just have to hit Publix first thing Wednesday morning, just to use her for the discount. (Yes, I am that cheap!)

        • Dianne

I hope you & your mom have a good shopping trip. She might enjoy seeing how smart her daughter is & how many bargains you can get when you put a little effort into it.

          • sara

I have been telling my parents about the couponing i am starting…they were amaxed at the savings and the “free stuff”. My dad shops publix frequently, but usually couponless. So, he went this morning for his senior discount trip armed with coupons at my suggestion. He tends to buy whatever strikes his fancy without regard tobeing on sale or not. Anyway, he saved over $60 today between the B1G1 deals and the coupons. Maybe he will start clipping and printing them now and pass the savings along to me!!! HAHA

            • Jenny

That’s awesome! I can’t get any of our parents to do this!!

      • Mina

That discount is the reason that I DON’T shop at Publix on Wednesdays. Bi-Lo and Kroger give it to me automatically. No hassles. When I’ve remembered to ask for it at Publix at Lake Murray Landing, one of the more mature cashiers said, “You don’t really qualify. Do you?” She gave it to me, but I could tell that she thought I was lying and cheating. I think that ever since then, she and the CS lady who were there have treated all of my transactions with suspicion.

The *funny* part of that incident was that I knew the lady who checked out before me. We were chatting because we hadn’t seen each other for awhile. She’s younger than I, & doesn’t quite qualify. She’d been given the discount without even asking. Since then, I get extra pleasure shopping elsewhere on Wednesdays, especially when I buy things that I would have bought at Publix, otherwise.

I didn’t complain. I’m sure the ladies are competent and nice people who just got the wrong impression. I can see that they treat other people well, and with a genuine smile. It’s odd because I’m such a stickler for being honest in my transactions.

        • JEB

Take it as a compliment that you must look young!!

        • Barbara

I’d just whip out my DL and show her. That way there’d be no question!

      • Amanda

        Is that ALL publix stores?

      • Barbara

Thanks for the info Dianne! I wasn’t aware of that. I’m 56 with 3 teenagers, just started couponing. I love this site, I’d probably give up without it. I will start getting all my Publix lists/coupons together early to take advantage of this!

    • Aymee

I can’t get the Target coupons to print!?!?!?

      • kristin

you have to download the target coupon printer. it will not download unless you are shut out of everything. there can be no websites open. hope this helps.

        • Joyce

I can’t print them either. I have followed instructions and closed everything when asked. When I re-open, I’m asked to download again!!!

          • Tiffany

same here. Says they will print, but they don’t and then I’m asked to download again.

            • Shannon

Did those of you who were having trouble installing the Target coupon activator ever get it installed? I have tried about 10 times tonight. I’ve tried running it, saving it to my computer and then running it. I’ve closed all of my browser windows and then run it. It tells me I’ve installed it successfully, but then when I go back and try to print the coupons, it makes me install it again.

        • marina

After you download it, you have go through the install process. HTH

      • Aymie

You are the only person I have “met” that has a similar spelling to my name!!!

    • sara

Bruno’s sent out a mail piece to some Hoover residents (my friend gave me his) that is for $5/$40 purchase. They have one for I think each week in November (not looking at it right now). But my Publix takes these. So that saved me $5 last week on top of everything else. I also have one for Rite Aid and one for Walgreens. I will find out what they are exactly and post it. But my publix will only accept 1 of these at a time. All 3 stores are in very close proximity to my Publix. I wonder if it would be too much to divide up my purchase into three transactions to be able to use all 3 at one visit?!

Did that confuse anyone else?!? haha

      • Sara,
Which Publix do you shop at that accepts both drug store coupons? Thanks for info.

        • sara

I use the Publix at Valleydale and Hwy 31. I have only used the Bruno’s. I think I asked if they took those types of competitor store coupons. He said they can only accept one with each total purchase. I did not ask about Rite Aid and Walgreens specifically. But they are both across the street from that Publix. Have you tried and not succeeded with “drug store” coupons? It was 1st attempt at major coupon using and I didn’t want to push my luck too much by asking too many specific questions. lol

          • sara

The Rite Aid is $5 off $25 purchase that I printed online.
            Walgreens is expired…my bad.
Checked at CVS in Pelham for Flu Books…she had not heard of it, but had 10-15 of the Holiday books just sitting out at pharmacy. Manager is my neighbor so she would have hooked me up if she had any.

      • Divide up your purchase – I do it all the time in order to use the Rite Aid $5 off $25 (or any other one they may have). The cashiers know it already, so they aren’t bothered by it at all. Sometimes they’ve even offered to go ahead and put them all together so that they can check me out all at once.

        • sara

Thanks! I will try that if they are not busy. I hate to hold up the line.

ON A SIDE NOTE: I went to the Bruno’s (now Food World) in Alabaster to use the Marcal FREE paper towel coupons I had. That is the only store around that carries that brand. The cashier was a young kid. There was a line forming behind me. I had 2 of each coupon. He rang up all 4 items, then tried to use all four coupons. It would only take 2. I asked if he could ring them up as 2 transactions. He said he would have to void everything out. I said just take off 2 and ring them up as a separate transaction. The 1st set I only owed .30 for tax for a pack of napkins and a 4 pack of toilet paper. Next, he rand up the roll of paper towels and the other pack of napkins. It would only take the $1 off coupon for the paper towels. I was getting frustrated, so just told him to forget it. After all the voiding and beeping and my 7 yr old trying to rent movies on the DVD machine at the front of the store I just paid for them. So, total paid $3.70 for a roll of paper towels, 2 big packs of napkins, and a 4 pack of toilet paper… I guess it was worth it. But, I won’t be trying that again there. I only went cause my dad lives down that way and I was over there.

On the Dove Ultimate deodorant deal, aren’t you already using the B1G1 coupon on one of the deodorants, so you could only use one of the $2 coupons on the other deodorant instead of using two like listed? Someone please clarify. I wouldn’t want anyone to make a mistake. I saw this on last week’s list but didn’t leave a comment because there were already 400 and something comments by then (I didn’t even make my list until the day before the sale ends…GASP!)

      • Laura

Yes, you CAN use the B1G1 and TWO $2 off coupons…I do it all the time. :)

        • kj

This works because the BOGO is a store coupon and the $2 off is a manufacturer’s coupon. :)

          • Ln

This was what I needed to know. I didn’t realize the B1G1 was a store coupon. Now it makes complete sense.

        • Rhonda

I did this a few weeks ago with no problem.

However, last night I was behind a lady and they would not allow her to use the store B1G1 and 2 of the $2.00 off. They said that the store manager had a meeting with them about it the day before and that you are already getting the second item for free. This is the Publix in Thomasville, GA.

          • Jennifer L

This happened to me too last week – at the Goodlettsville, TN store. The week before, they took the the B1G1 and the 2 separate $2 coupons. Last week they would only take one of the $2 coupons saying that one of the products was already free.

            • Susan

This morning at the Cumming Publix at exit 17 they would not let me use the 2 manuf. coupons with the Publix coupon for 2 Dove deoderants. This is the first time I’ve been denied this type of deal at this Publix location. It seems they have changed more than just their policy on competitor coupons. Too bad.

        • Jenni

I used all three coupons together today with no problem (In Duncan, SC). Remember, it is a “BOGO” deal, but they charge half price on each item, so a price is still paid for each item, therefore 2 Manufacturers coups are still applicable. Some stores may independently be clamping down on such a good deal like this, but it’s not company-wide policy.

          • Mina

Yes, our areas call 1/2 price sales BOGO sales. Florida and surrounding coastal areas have true BOGO’s where they pay full price for the first and the charge for the second is zero.

The thing is, they really ARE purchasing 2 items in order to get that “free” price on the second. When something is free with the purchase of something else, it is not actually free. It is the purchase of multiple items. They won’t allow you to purchase only the “free” item, and they won’t allow you to return only the full price item for a full refund on that product. Therefore, the package deal is legitimately the purchase of two items, and each item within the qualifying package can be legitimately matched with a MQ. The store has sold both items and met the qualifications for reimbursement from the manufacturer. Managers who haven’t thought this through may think that they are saving the store money by denying the use of a second q, but they are actually losing money by not getting that extra 8 cents processing incentive for each one. (The cost for processing is very small compared to the incentive payment.)

            • kj

Just use the self-checkout. The computer will accept this deal with no problem :)

      • Michelle

They took the store coupon and two man. coupons at my store! :)

      • Stacey

I had no problem doing this deal last week either. If you have a problem doing this deal at Publix, just hang onto your $2 q’s and use them at Walgreens on Black Friday. They will be moneymakers then because the Dove deodorant will be $3.99 with $3.99RR back. Use the q and make $2!

        • kristin

Do you know the limit on the RR for Dove? Can get get two and receive two RR?

    • Does anyone know the best price amongst, Publix, Kroger, Aldi’s or Walmart to get a couple of pounds of pecans?

      • Jenni

There is a coupon out right now for pecans. Planters brand, I think. But I don’t think anyone has them on sale. Try one of the links listed next to all the Nabisco/Planters coupon links.

      • Tarin

You might check your local “healthy” food store – they sometimes have sales in the bulk bin aisle and offer “conventional” in addition to the organic offering. I always stock up on pecans and walnuts at my local Earth Fare.

      • Cindy

I don’t know about Aldi, but between Publix, Kroger, and Walmart – If you don’t have a coupon, then I believe Kroger has the best price at $3.99 for 12 oz. in the produce section. If you have any of the Diamond coupons they should make them cheaper than this at any store, but Walmart would probably be best.

        • I wound up buying the 12 ounce nuts from the produce section at Kroger.

      • Are you needing shelled or unshelled? Aldi was the better deal for the shelled pecans for me.

      • Paula

Wal-Mart in Chattanooga, TN has Fisher pecans for $5 a pound on the baking isle. I don’t know if that is true for all Wal-Mart’s or not.

      • Pecan update!
        I got a 2lb bag of Pecans for about 8$ at Sams….

That’s the best price I think:)

        • Sue

Kroger has 1 lb. bags for $3.99. Walnuts, macadamias, and pecans.

          • Sue

Just read the post above. Might be 12 oz. Sounds like we’re talking about the same thing.

    • Michelle

My Publix just made a new limit rule. Now we can only buy 8 of one item (4 BOGO deals). They said a few people abused the system so they had to start limiting purchases. Has anyone else noticed this at their Publix?

      • KK

We do that with rainchecks. And a lot of the BOGO’s in the ad say “Quantity Rights Reserved.” People come in and clean out our shelves, and customers get mad. When Coke 2-liters were BOGO like six months ago we had a guy try to buy 120 2 Liters. No joke. So it is only reasonable that they limit quantities on certain items.

      • Lindsay

The store closest to me has a 4 item limit (2 BOGO deals). They started this a couple months back. Fortunately for me, it’s close enough I can make multiple trips or stop at another store if I want more than 4 of an item. The limit has seemed to help with the shelves being cleared on the first or second day of the sale…maybe people are just going to another store though.

      • Jenni

I’ve noticed the abuse of the system, that is for sure! But thankfully, I haven’t been told anything about limits. But then, I rarely buy more that 4 total of an given BOGO deal.

      • Kristina from Kennesaw

The one I shop at the most (Bell’ss Ferry & 575 in Kennesaw) has always done this on rainchecks. Sometimes I go in looking to buy several of the items, and they only have one or two on the shelf. So I will buy what they do have and if it’s something that I have more q’s for or definitely want more of, then I go right to the CS desk after I’ve checked out and get rain checks for those items and ask for the max # of deals so I can choose how many I want to purchase next time. If I want all 8, I can get it or if I only want 1 I can get that too! Hope this helps!

      • Janice

We have had a limit at the stores I shop (Atlanta – midtown, Decatur) for a few years. Usually 2 to 3 deals per person. If I “need” more deals than that, I just break it up into a couple of trips. Since I usually have to go pick up milk, eggs, bread, etc. anyway. :)

    • Anne Marie

I don’t think the coupons will work for the Jimmy Dean sausage. The ad shows the roll sausage which is not fully cooked. Bummer!

      • LoriNSC

My store had the roll & fully cooked on sale.

    • Esmelda

I don’t have my coupons with me right now, but I’m pretty sure there is a $1 off Ocean Spray Juice in the Walgreens Coupon Book. If your Publix accepts Walgreens as a competitor that will make for pretty cheap Ocean Spray Juice Cocktail.

      • Yes, there is a coupon for the Ocean Spray in Both November Walgreen booklets. We purchased our Ocean Spray at Targets for $1.98 – $1.00 Target coupon = $0.98 and in addition we used our reusable bags to save an extra $0.05 per bag used.

      • Peggy Jo

Thanks, that helped me get the cranberry juice for 25 cents a bottle.

    • susan

Can someone tell me what zip i can use to get the domino’s sugar?

    • Debbie

Is any one having trouble printing the food lion coupons via the PDF form? I just can’t do it

      • Jenni

Mine cuts off part of the UPC code. It makes them look illegitimate. But Publix has accepted them as competitor coups. Is it not printing at all? Do you maybe need an update to your PDF reader?

      • Devon

When I try to access the $2 off of $5 FL coupon, I keep getting the $3 off of $10 one instead. Problem is, I’m not buying that much from the deli right now. Oh well.

    • keb2009

anybody got a zip for the betty crocker muffin mix?

    • The $1/10 Beech-nut printable coupon comes up “Sorry this offer has expired.” But there’s a Food Lion printable coupon for $1/6 that’s good until 12/31/09: http://www.southernsavers.com/food-lion-coupons/

    • Jodi

Apparently there are a lot of people out there who are abusing Publix, and the coupon friendly environment that they have. They needed to tighten the reigns a bit on what they are allowing the customers to do.

I am very disappointed that people are abusing the system like this. Makes the rest of us coupons look bad, but I am glad that they are tightening the reigns and not just stopping the coupon friendly environment that they have.

      I still love my Publix!

      • Bethany

Me too! I know people abuse the system and it bugs me. Publix is so awesome about coupons that I feel like it’s too good to be true and is going to end at some point.

    • eyesreopened

I work at the Publix in Athens AL and this is something our manager recently started: if you have, say, 2 bottles of Lysol and you have a man bogo q, we are not allowed to combine that with, say a 50 cent off coupon for the one you are not getting free. These decisions are left up to individual store managers, but if you live in Athens there is your heads up. I know this isn’t logical, but this is what they have told us to do. This will differ greatly store to store.

    • Lisa

I went to Publix today and tried to use a Target coupon with a manuf. coupon and the cashier told me they were no longer stacking coupons. I have used Target there before, but I asked if I could use a Publix coupon and a manuf. together and he said no, the policy changed last week and they won’t accept 2 coupons for 1 item. Has anyone else had this trouble? This cashier has given me issues w/coupons before so I was wondering if it was just him or if the policy really did change?? This is the store on Bethany Bend/Hwy 9 in Milton, GA. Even w/o the Target coupon, I still saved $47!! :)

      • Lisa

He did let me do the dove bogo coupon deal which is technically 2 coupons for one item.

        • April

I am new to publix shopping. I tried the dove ultimate deal. They said the B1g1 was last week. Should I have brought last weeks paper for them to scan that coupon?

          • Dianne

The B1G1 coupon is in the Green Advantage flyer. I think it expires on 11/27. If you don’t see the flyer at the kiosk when you enter, ask for it at the Customer Service desk.

        • Kate

          Hi Lisa,
They told me the same thing at the Milton store. And the cashier I heard it from is my absolute favorite who always accepts my coupons without a problem. Im pretty sure its the new policy.

      • Jamie

I shop there and have had no issue with stacking coupons… there are three cashiers that i try to avoid because they ALWAYS make me feel like I am doing something wrong because I have a ton of coupons… I try to make it easy on them by grouping items together and group all coupons in the same order so they can count/check everything but they still give me a bad vibe. But besides them everyone else is great… i will be going tomorrow so i will let you know what they say about stacking

        • Lisa

I have stacked coupons there all the time, that’s why I was surprised when he wouldn’t let me. When I checked the comments here, I saw that other stores were changing some policies, so I wondered if our store had too. I usually avoid him, but he had no line and with two kids at the end of their rope, I didn’t have a choice……

          • Jamie

I finally got out to do my shopping and I was able to stack coupons today at the Milton store. So if this is their new policy then all the cashiers are not aware of this. So I am going to keep stacking until they tell me not to. Also, the assistant manager was bagging my groceries and didn’t say anything. Have a great thanksgiving

      • andrea

I did my normal shopping today at Publix (Carrollton, GA) and they told me they have new limits on coupons. They are no longer accepting Target coupons, but they are still accepting Food Lion and Kroger. You can now only use 12 store coupons(including the Publix ones) at a time. They still let me stack a store coupon with a man q. There is no limit, that I know of, on the BOGO’s. I still saved $67 today. I’m just happy that I can save money. It makes me not hate grocery shopping.

    • Sofia

Is there no more Snapple coupons for 6packs? I’ve seen them out there every week

      • dawn

I printed two for $1 off a 6 pack a few weeks ago on the All You website.

    • Jennifer

I can’t find the vanity fair coupon, anybody else find it?

    • Sandra

Has anyone been given the “stink eye” for walking around Publix with coupons? I haven’t shopped there in a long time because I think they are more expensive than my Kroger. But when you can use a competitive coupon – with their blessing – then some things are a great deal so I end up buying my whole week there. Last Satuday, I was at the one in Spring Hill, TN and was followed around by the manager – then a checker stood at the end of each aisle I was on and stared me down. Was I imagining it or have you guys found this to be true?

BTW…I was polite and friendly and got only the deals that were there. I don’t get it.

      • I think there are some people (asst. managers included) at Publix that don’t like us couponers.
However when I find a friendly one, I praise her up and down loudly!

But then I have found very friendly cashiers who are excited by what good deals I get.
Today I was overwhelmed by all the niceness today.

      • Morgan

I had a very similar experience at a store in Greenville, SC. I would go down one aisle, and the cashier would be standing at the end. Turn the corner, and there she was again. The funny thing was that I had only gone in to grab three things and I didn’t even have my coupon file with me. I am not sure what the deal was…

      • noelle

I truly have had mostly good experiences at my Publix in Greenville on Pelham Road. In fact, I regularly get a round of applause from a couple of the cashiers and one cashier wants to get me a crown that I can wear when I come in–he calls me the queen of coupons. In fact, most of the cashiers know about this site and tell the other customers about it. I’ve tried other Publix stores, but this one is indeed the most friendly, helpful store. I posted a comment on the Publix website and the manager of the store called me at home and thanked me! Recently another manager told me the best time to come when the shelves are well stocked.

They truly appreciate when we couponers are honest and courteous.

        • Katherine

I’ve had similar experiences at the Publix on Pelham. The managers and cashiers are really friendly and also get excited when I save.

When is the best day to go shopping when all the shelves are stocked up?

          • noelle

I was told by a manager that the truck comes on Friday morning. She said that is supposed to change in the future. But I usually go early afternoon on Fridays and rarely need to get a rain check.

      • Janice

I haven’t had that problem. But then at the Publix where I shop, 75% of the customers are walking around with coupons. I even saw some little old men doing it yesterday. So the cashiers/mgrs. would be so busy giving us all the “stink eye”, they would get nothing else done. ha

      • Amanda

I was told I couldn’t use walgreens coupons by one asst manager/floor manager after he saw me get a purchase for under $2 on a previous day. (It was a Wed – last day of a sale) When I went in on Thursday he recognized me and yes, him and a cashier were sort of following me I felt.

I called and complained to corporate. The store manager of my publix called me and told me to bring all the coupons back – I got my money back on that next shopping trip. He also placed the cashier on trash duty and the assistant manager won’t speak to me – which is fine by me! (A small victory! LOL)

    • Abby

Can you stack a Publix store coupon with a Food Lion store coupon?

      • Vanessa

I think it is a store by store basis. My store on Gervais Street in Columbia will not let you.

    • PJS

Can anyone tell me where I need to go to purchase extra coupons?

      • You can buy them on Ebay or some of the coupon clipper sites. I buy 10-20 for about 2 bucks or so with shipping..

Unless you have some for trade too, then Southern Savers has a google group just for trading.

      • Morgan

I would suggest checking on Ebay (although I know a lot of my fellow couponers take issue with that suggestion)… As far as I am concerned, if someone else wants to go out and buy 20 papers and clip and sort the coupons that I want, I don’t mind purchasing them. Having said that, stealing coupon books and/or peelies and/or blinkies is NOT ok with me, so I refuse to purchase those on Ebay. It is usually pretty easy to tell the difference in either the photo or the description.

      • Ashley

I really like https://www.couponsthingsbydede.com because you can easily search, have a shopping cart, and I have always got great service. If you are new at couponing, you can easily get newspaper inserts of past weeks that you may not have.

      • Amy G

I also sugest ebay.. just bought my first coupons and i just got them in the mail for the napkins on sale this week.. can’t wait.

Maybe this has been mentioned before, but I found at my Publix a tearpad in the produce section next to the Nasoya egg roll wrappers and wonton wrappers.
      $2.29 reg price

-$1.00 off 1 Publix Store coupon
then combine that with the $1.50/2 from the 9/27 RP
=.54 cents each for either Egg Roll or Wonton Wrappers.
You can make good Christmas party hot appetizers with these!

      Found some recipes here http://factoidz.com/quick-and-easy-appetizers-and-snacks-using-egg-roll-wrappers-kid-friendly-too/

    • Renee

Rondele cheese has a $1 off coupon in my SS 11/15 packet of the Orlando Sentinel (same page as Sorrento Mozzarella). They’re B1G1F starting tomorrow in FL, so it’s a good deal.

    • Tonya

They have the Ziplock red and green sparkly christmas containers with lids for $2.99. It is a pack with 4 containers in it. In the yellow flyer they have $1.00 coupon on ziplock containers. I used two $1.00 store coupons and the anufacturer coupon of $1.50 off 2, and ended getting two packs of ziplock containers for $2.50! For eight containers! Yay!

      • Those would make good boxes for giving cookies away.

      • April

Where did you did you find the manuf. coupons?

        • Phillis

They are in the 11-15 Smartsource insert.

    • Jenni

My Publix in Lexington, SC does not take Target coupons. They do not consider them a competitor. Does anyone know if they take CVS?

      • Jenny

Sadly the only competitor coupons accepted in the midlands are grocery store coupons. Bi-Lo, Food Lion or Kroger. Some will take Earth Fare, Save-A-Lot and others.

        • JEB

There will be a $5 off coupon from Piggly Wiggly on The State paper on Friday, Nov. 20 to take to Publix!!!

          • JEB

Oops! It will be a $10 off Piggly Wiggly post it note on the front of Friday’s State Paper in Columbia…

      • Ashley

The Lexington Publix will take Register Rewards from Walgreens because they say “Manufacturer Coupon” on the top of them. I have been told I can only use one and then was able to use multiple ones the last trip. I like this because sometimes using register rewards for more rewards at Walgreens gets tricky.

        • Steve

Loganville, GA Publix says they will no longer take Register Rewards from Walgreen effective Dec. 1st and that they are going to put a sign on the door. When they tell me they can’t accept them, I tell them that they are Mfg. coupons and to just scan them and they always scan. I think they get Walgreens store coupons mixes up with Register Rewards which are Mfg. coupons but what can you do?

    • LoriNSC

FYI: I found a blinkie for .55 off Sargento shredded cheese right by the cheese. They’re on sale 3/5.00. So that’s $1.11 each.

RP 11/15 $.50 on any one (1) Lipton Tea Bags, Lipton to Go, or any Lipton Iced Tea Mix. We had this one in our newspaper this past week.

    • I have been doing the grocery game for over 3 years and have saved a ton! A friend heard a speaker who was a homeschooler (like we are) and she told everyone about your site. I am thrilled! I will defiantely be using this resource weekely!

How can I exchange links with you…if you are willing to exchange a banner ad with me for my homeschool curriculum store, which is a big saver at up to 30% off all curriculums.

Thanks for all your hard work!

      • Teresa-QOCD

Carrie, I do drivers ed for teens in the Greenville, Laurens area and am interested in home schoolers 864-906-9835 or freeingu at prtcnetdotcom

    • Ashley

Hey Jenny! Couldnt find a link to email you! had a great deal to share.
As a publix employee my couponing seems to annoy them, but i LOVE saving money! lol

I went on ebay and purchased the following coupons:

      (10) 2.50 off 2 covergirl products (man)
      (10) Buy covergirl foundation get any covergirl product FREE (up to any value!)
      (10) 1.00 off 1 Covergirl Target coupon.

      Buy 10 foundations at 3.19 a piece,
Find 10 covergirl items of your choosing…
      and its freeeeeee!!

      (use a 5 off 25 btw)! It was a great deal. I saved 143.27
and my total was negative 2.26!

      Whoo hoo.

      • What kind of foundation did you get for $3.19?

        • Carrie

Where did you do this deal at target or publix?

          • Ashley

        • Ashley

The glass bottles of covergirl foundation are usually 5.29 but are on advantage buy for 3.19!

          • Tracie

For anyone who did this Cover Girl Deal:

If you spent $25 and your receipt is dated between 9/11 and 11/20, you can submit for the P&G “Cooking Up Early Detection” rebate. This is that cute pink cookware set! All items must be on the same receipt and postmarked by 11/25.

            Ashley, thanks for the tip!

      • Sean

        Wouldn’t this work?

        (5) -2.50/2 Covergirl (covers 10 foundations)
        (10) BOGO Foundation and product (covers 10 other products)
        (20) Target -$1 Covergirl (takes $20 off total)

I came up with $31.90 for the 10 foundations with the other 10 products free and the other 25 coupons take off $32.50.

    • Traclyn Cook

I talked w/ one of the managers at the Publix in Ooltewah yesterday and he was telling me that on Black Friday they will have some great deals … purchase a BP gas card and get a Publix gift card and the General Mills deal that was out a few weeks ago with purchase so many get $4 off will be back as well.

      • Mina

Maybe they’ll do this in all of the stores for that one, instead of just a few Florida localities like the most recent ones. I’ve almost used up all of the gas cards I bought during Bi-Lo promo this past summer. (Yes, I bought enough cards to last us about 6 months. At $60+/wk that we go through during the school year, that was quite a few cards.)

        • Teresa-QOCD

This driving school lady bought alot of BP cards also. Cant wait !

      • Bethany

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I shop in Ooltewah on Fridays and I was considering changing my shopping day next week. I guess I’ll brave the crowds after all.

        • Lana

The grocery stores are deserted on Black Friday. Great day to pick up marked down turkeys etc.

    • allen

FYI Publix has Lance crackers 8 pack on advantage buy 2 for $4.00 with coupon online crackers are only $1.00 each!!!!!!!!!!!

      • YIKES – this is fabulous!!! Thanks for the heads-up.

      • LD

How did I miss this one too ? lol I am really slow this week . We buy these types of crackers a lot Dh eats them like crazy.

    • Joy

The Publix in Buford, Ga no longer accepts Food Lion coupon or any of the drugstore coupons. :o(

      • Arminda

That bites. I’m in Cartersville, and mine won’t accept those ‘Harvey’ coupons. But ours does take Food Lion. I guess because we have one in Adairsville. I just wish we still had a Bi-Lo. The closest one now is Dalton, and there’s no way I’m driving that far! lol

      • Janine

Joy, I was told at the Cumming, GA store that they would not take Food Lion either.

    • sara

Strange question…Is it a good idea to freeze butter? I didn’t know if it would mess with the composition of butter. Anyone tried and succeeded with this?

      • Denise.

I’ve been freezing butter for years. It’s fine…

        • sara

Thanks. My husband thought I was crazy for asking. He said he did not think you could. Score 1 for the ladies! lol

      • Stephanie

I freeze butter all the time and never had a problem. In fact, my freezer has quite a few in it right now from recent sales. : )

      • Pam

I freeze butter and margarine. I also freeze milk when it’s on a great sale. Just be sure to shake it well after it thaws.

      • Kim

According to the National Dairy Council:

        Wrapped salted
butter may be stored in the
refrigerator for up to 2 months.
Butter can be frozen in its original
        wrapper for several months.
Unsalted butter is best kept frozen
until ready to use. For longer
freezer storage, wrap in foil or
        plastic. Unsalted butter can be
kept frozen for about 5 months
at 0¡F. Salted butter can be frozen
for about 6 to 9 months.

I had no idea you could freeze butter – Great question!

      • Bethany

How about sour cream? Does anyone know if you can freeze that?

        • Laura

Freezing sour cream is fine if you want to bake with it. The texture is a bit off, though, so its not good as a condiment.

      • Harriette

I freeze butter all the time. Found this coupon this morning.

    • Amy

Does anyone know if the Fiber one muffin mix is included on sale? Thanks!

      • sara

        I have the same question…

      • marina

They are not at my publix (woodstock,Ga). I checked this morning.

      • Kim

This did not work at my Publix in Montgomery, AL either. The Fiber One is normally 3.29 (or something around that) and thus was not included in the sale of B1G1 $2.59 items… didn’t come out to being worth it unless that is just an item you really want regardless…

    • Ashley

Has anyone found the T. Mazetti Veggie Dip coupon? I tried the zip codes listed above but still couldnt find it.

    • Arminda

For the things you have listed 50% off, do you know how much those things are?

      • Stephanie

I’m wondering the same thing about Bird’s Eye Frozen Veggies. They’re 50% off at Publix, but Winn-Dixie has them for $1. I’d like to know the actual price at Publix so I know which is the better deal. Anyone know the price on the veggies?

        • I went today and the vegetables were .99.

    • Dana

soo… Went to Publix yesterday and they NO longer accept CVS coupons. The checkout lady said that they only accept coupons from stores that sale 70% or more groceries. on a side note, I spent 18.74 and saved 73.67… Thanks for the breakdown and the help Jenny!

    • Dionne

I’m new at all this… It’s a lot of fun and I’m saving money. I find that it’s very easy to get caught up in how much you’re saving and how little you’re actually paying for something; as opposed to paying full price. However, I don’t understand the mentality of some couponers/shoppers that purchase massive amounts. I mean how many cans of soup do you really need or how many tubs of butter can one use at once? I find it ridiculous that some people are so selfish as to purchase so much at one time. As if the manufacturer is going to stop producing or the world is coming to an end. Stock piling! To hoard items in such a manner is simple repulsive. You can only eat so much! Anyway… for those people feel compelled to do such a thing, I simple ask that you please consider others when shopping. Perhaps someone else may want to purchase the item. Plus hoarding is sinful…

      • OK – this really gets my goat!!! Let me tell you about my “hoarding” mentality and what I do with my “hoarded” products. We are a family of 4, so I buy many of one item every time it goes bogo and I have a Q (and yes, we eat everything and turn over our stock about every 6 weeks). I also donate to others around me that need grocery items, give items to my children’s schools as well as fill a box every few weeks for a food pantry/shelter. So if you see me shopping, you might say that I am “hoarding”, when in fact I am selectively and judiciously shopping. I spend a lot of time planning out my deals and working the Publixes (plural) around me in order to maximize my out of pocket. When I have gotten to a Publix that is out of an item, I do not get angry or bent out of shape. I simply ask for a rain check and come back later on and have my own private sale. My “hoarding” affords my family a rather nice at-home dining experience, as well as fills the shelves of my local school and food pantry. Lastly, because I shop so wisely, all of the money that I save in a week from using Qs and sales, is put into a bigger savings account that really gets us all of the goodies that would be a struggle to come out of our monthly budget (ie: wii, nice vacations, cleaning lady, electronics, spa treatments, home renovations, charity donations, etc.). I hope that I haven’t further repulsed you with my explanation and clarification of my “hoarding” and would lastly like to add that if “hoarding is sinful”, so is judging others!!!!!!

        • YOU GO GIRL!!! I get irritated when I see fellow Qers throwing around the word “hoarding” w/out knowing why you buy so much!!! For heaven’s sakes ladies – we all shop to extremes or at least excessively at one time or another. I’m sure there are some of you that get your hair cut every month, or nails done every couple of weeks or brows waxed once a week or WHATEVER- is that excessive? Am I repulsed b/c I can’t understand why you have to do this?? Absolutely NO. Everyone does what they do for a reason – it is not our place to question or judge. Go get your dang rain check and SMILE more often!!!!

          • Dionne

First, the comment I made was not intended to offend anyone, only if to cause one to think about their fellow man. Yes, we all have reasons for doing what we do, however that’s still no excuse. Not only that… The comment was not meant for people shopping for large families or giving to food pantries. I commend anyone giving back to their community. I’m pretty sure you know the difference between a little extra and excessive. So, if you’re not blameworthy then there is no reason to get upset neither to explain yourself. My point is there’s enough food for everyone. BTW, I hope you are eating everything; otherwise that would really be a waste. And as for, “turning over YOUR STOCK…”, well I will not comment on that. I’m not at all angry just a concern individual. But I am a single working mother and what I don’t have is a lot of time to waste running back and forth (smiling) with rain checks, because one person has bought the lot. The whole purpose is to save money. Fortunately for me it doesn’t take hoarding to afford me-my “goodies” as you call them. Bottom line is there’s never any excuse for greed. You treat and respect others as you would want to be. And, as far as judging goes… No, you’re never to judge the intent of anyone; however, to judge one’s actions is something total different. Read “The Book”

            • jessica

Ok, since I believe you said you are fairly new to couponing…When I first started out, I would sometimes get upset if a shelf was cleaned out. Not upset at the people who bought the items, but upset at the store for not having it in stock. But, it’s so easy to get rainchecks at Publix. I never make a second trip to Publix to get my rain check items, I just keep the rain checks with my coupons and buy all those items the next time I’m at Publix, the following week. It’s no big deal unless you desperately need something, and if that’s the case, just buy a different name brand. I also purchase large amounts of certain things, but I’m not a greedy person at all. Recently I purchased about 15 boxes of pasta and 6 boxes of dog bones. If anyone were to judge me they might have thought I was a hoarder. What they wouldn’t have known just from judging me on the surface based on what’s in my cart, is that that pasta is going to feed 5 school-aged foster children and 6 rescued pets in my home (5 of which were strays). Was I greedy for buying so many of those items? I don’t think so. Money that I save on groceries will go to provide fun trips, toys, new clothes, etc. for 5 children who show up at my door with literally nothing but the clothes on their back. No one can judge someone’s actions without knowing where they are coming from, and there’s no way to know where someone’s coming from by just looking in their cart. So, we should all support one another, encourage one another, and be positive. I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving!

        • Lisa

I think your helping food pantries would be good except for the fact that when you clear the shelves, you are upsetting MANY shoppers who come behind you and have to waste their gas money to return for the items they had to get rainchecks for. Not to mention that they cannot make their planned menus because the items they were going to use have been cleared off the shelves.

And I don’t think any of them would be happy to know that this practice affords you spa treatments…

          • ladies – it’s only coupons!!! this needs to stop. i see people buying buggies full of the same stuff and it does not bother me one bit. for all i know, they may need to bathe their dog in the 50 jars of ragu sauce they just bought b/c he had an unfortunate accident with a family of skunks!!! it’s no big deal. i have also found the shelves empty of stuff when that is what i had planned for that evening and just kick myself and say that i should have planned better. couponing has made me become very disciplined and organized about shopping, so now i rarely get disappointed when i get to the store.

and as for the extra goodies … heck, why else would you coupon but to save money and to use your savings on some other “luxury”. i may not necessarily go to a spa but i will use the money on something that i would consider somewhat extravagant and not necessary. a spa treatment is a fabulous reward, whether you donate your stuff to a food pantry or not. just think about how hard you’ve had to fight to get your deals and how much stress all that kneading will relieve – :) :) :)! so let’s all just keep clipping, shopping and saving lots of money. and most importantly – let’s smile as we shop and love our fellow couponers.

            • Tanny

This is not about coupons. It’s about being thoughtful of others! And I agree!

            • Sue

Lori, you could be a motivational speaker! Thanks for cheering on the troops.

            • jessica

              Lori- Well said!! :)

        • Amy B.

I’m going to weigh in here with a quick opinion. I always wonder what would happen if we just taught all the people who use food pantries how to shop using coupons. Then we wouldn’t need food pantries and each person could be responsible for themselves.

I personally prefer that the store sets reasonable limits since “getting a good deal” often lets our logic get a little fuzzy. I once bought 12 bags of croutons because I had the coupons and they were free. We used a couple and then I donated the rest. While I’m sure the food pantry patrons were happy to have free croutons, there were a lot of coupon shoppers that would have too. In retrospect, I wish I had gotten a couple and left the extra coupons there for someone else to use.

          • There is a woman I saw on tv who has made agreements with her local stores that helps her use couponing to buy for local food charities.

And I worked in a KMart in high school and there were strict limits on blue light specials. Of course, customers would go out to their cars and come back in again to get the same deal and many bragged about beating the system this way, but setting limits up front does help to make sure that more people get a chance to enjoy a good deal. If someone wants to purchase a large qty for a group or charity then just ask the manager for approval.

        • I think there is a difference between hoarding and stockpiling, but people probably have their personal definitions based on how much their family eats!

I don’t mind getting a raincheck when a store is sold out, but hate it when my coupons expire while I’m waiting for an item to be re-stocked!

And I will not stop hating it when people take stacks of blinkies, coupon flyers, take peelies off all the containers for their own future use, or abuse the couponing system so much that stores change their policies.

          • FYI – if your Q is about to expire and Publix has not restocked the item, talk to the store manager b/c they will make special arrangements to take your Q after the expiration date. This has happened to me a couple of times and they have been very accomodating to take the Q after the expiration date.

      • Carol

I guess you would call me a hoarder some days because I buy a lot at one time to get the best price on certain items. We are a family of 10 and it takes more to feed that many people than a family of 2 or 3. I try to get what we will use at the lowest possible prices so I can afford to stay home and raise my children. It is really none of your business if I have 2 boxes of Ritz crackers or 10 (which is what I bought yesterday. ) That being said, there were over 100 boxes of Ritz in the store, so I didn’t feel bad buying 10. (THis is just one example.) I never, ever clear shelves unless there is only two or three of something. I believe in being considerate of others, but you need to realize that families come in different sizes and just because it looks like someone is being a hoarder, they may be getting what they need.

        • sara

This is also the season for family gatherings, so naturally people will probably be buying more than usual for baking, cooking…coupon user or not.

        • :) :) :) – beautifully said!!! and if i saw you at publix w/10 ritz crackers, my questions would be “are they on sale?”, “where the heck did you find all your Qs?” and “with your Qs, that’s gonna be just about free – you go girl!!!” smile and keep clipping and stockpiling!!

        • also, don’t forget there is a ritz rebate of $10 off 10 boxes. combine w/bogo and Qs and they will be paying you to eat ritz. jenny had it posted a while back. if you cannot find it, click on my name and it will take you to my e-mail acct – i will be happy to forward it to you.

          • Carol

Thanks for the reminder about the rebate!

      • Janine

If an item is out of stock you can get a rain check and purchase it when they have it again. My Publix told me there is no expiration on the rain check and you can use it any time. I have many! :)

    • holls

can someone tell me which booklet or advantage buy ad has the Dove coupon?

      • Lisa

The green advantange buy ad has them. I found one in the front of the store.

    • sara

Are the “I can’t believe it’s not butter” sticks on sale? The $1 off coupon listed is for the sticks only but the Publix ad i saw did not list sticks. Anyone tried this one yet?

      • Tom

The Publix in South Tampa took them, apparently anything in the Can’t believe it’s not butter line should work. But like everything else in the wacky world of coupons – your milage may vary…. Best approach with a iffy coupon situation is pick a busy cashier, with a nice long line behind you, waiting for her shift to be over…. lol

        • sara

Made my Publix run this afternoon before schools let out hoping to avoid crowds. It appears that my Publix (Pelham,AL) stocks on Friday!! And they have large quantities of their B1G1 products. And my Publix did not have the Fiber One muffin mix as part of the sale, so i skipped those. But the Can’t Believe butter sale did include the sticks!!

          Savings Summary:
          Store Coupon $13.10
          Vendor Coupon $44.30
          Advertised Special Savings $60.37
          Total Savings $117.77

          Total OOP $29.11!!!

          • That’s what I’m talking about!!!

            • sara

My plan was to spend $25. Right on target with tax added. I was super happy!!

      • Marie

Yes, the sticks are on sale too. I am in the Atlanta GA area.

    • Lisa

The link for the printable Cool Whip coupon prints coupons that say Retailer Coupon and Redeem at Publix. There is a 5 at the beginning of one of the barcodes on the coupon (there are several barcodes on the coupon) but it says retailer, so can we stack it with a manufacturer coupon?

      • Lisa

I had a similar coupon today. At the top it says Retailer Coupon, but the fine print says that the MANUFACTURER will reimburse the store for the coupon. Therefore, it’s a manuf. coupon and can’t be stacked with another manuf. coupon.

    • does the $7 off 2 vivarin(sp?) coupon beep? TIA!!!!

      • it didb/c it is such a large $$ Q. the cashier just verified the amount and pushed it through.

    • Sean

Check the back of any Sweetbay receipts for -.30 off any Cabot product.

    • Laura

I just came back from my Publix…the cashier told me they’re no longer accepting Target coupons. 2 weeks ago the manager told me they would if it was on food items ONLY. I guess they changed it as of yesterday. Sigh! :(

      • sara

        Which Publix?

        • Laura

Oops sorry…it was the Publix in Gulf Breeze, FL

    • MCH

The clorox wipes that are on sale for 3.99 are the 75 count. My B2G1F coupon says the 35 count…I dont know if they will take it or not but I will try…Unfortunately, I didn’t start couponing until 11/1, so I dont have those 10/4 coupons…

    • Lisa

The Glass Plus link takes you to Lysol coupons. Is there some other link for a coupon or am I looking at something wrong??

      • Kim

I think if you click on some of the other tabs at the top when you click to the site you will find it – maybe it was surface care or something like that?

    • liz

Does anyone know prices for pet food that have store and manu Q’s as listed? I think it might make for free or super cheap pet food.

      • marina

I checked this morning and the purina one was a little over $6 for the small bag. So w/the coupons it would be $1-$2. Pretty good deal. But my store didn’t have very many flavor choices in the small bags. Only lamb and beef. And I’ve got a picky eater. :) Hope that helps

      • marina

sorry, forgot to mention the Iams 8lb bags were around $11.

        • liz

          thanks marina!

    • Kam

Will the Fiber One muffin coupons work on the Betty Crocker muffins? They are both made by Betty Crocker. Just curious.

      • Kam

Just found out that they won’t take the Fiber One coupons for the BC muffins. That’s ok, they were still B1G1. :)

    • yes

    • FrugalMama001

Publix in Mauldin, SC DOES NOT accept Foodlion coupons. The only competitor coupons they will accept are Ingles and Bi-Lo. I was a little bummed about this because the policy seems to change every week. But despite this minor issue I will continue to shop my fav grocery store! Has anyone else had similar issues with the Food Lion coupons at Publix?

    • Kevin

I don’t see the $1 off Ritz Crackers printable coupon from the link provided… Am I missing something? Does anyone else see it?

      • Rhonda

Me either!! I really wanted those FREE crackers. Someone help. Are they all gone?

      • marina

I printed some yesterday, but I think the limit is reached. sorry

        • Arminda

If you click on the one for Del Monte canned for the target coupon, the second page of groceries only has rits crackers for $1 off.
Oh, and Marina, I’m in Cartersville! Hellp neighbor!

    • Aymie

What coupon is the Publix I cant believe its not butter? What book is that in?

    • Renee

Will a $.50 military coupon double at Publix?

    • tonya

FYI on the CVS and Rite Aid coupons. When you use these coupons, the money comes straight out of the employee earnings. They are an employee owned company. So that is probably why some of you get attitude when you’re using those kind of coupons. I personally just try to stick with my man. coupons. If you take the time, you can still save lots of money. In this economy I know we’re all trying to save as much as possible, but do you want to save money at the expense of the Publix employees?

      • Why would using CVS / Rite Aid coupons be any different that using Food Lion or Target coupons? Are you an employee? I have never heard of this!

      • coupon lover

You obviously do not know anything about how a business operates. The only thing that those coupons could effect would be the bottom line. And from what I’ve read, Publix is doing better than most grocery store chains out there. Employee pay does not vary. They get a set hourly wage or salary, depending on their position. They do not work on commission. Using a $5/25 CVS coupon does not mean that your cashier is taking home $5 less in their paycheck.

        **Jenny Here**
I think what was maybe meant was that Publix employee bonuses and raises are based on that stores sales numbers and figures. Currently most stores are seeing significant weekly write offs (from doubling, and competitors plus fraudulent use) that are affecting their local stores sales figures which will factor into all raises and bonuses for next year.

      • Jennifer

Tonya & Jenny are 100% percent correct. It does affect the stores bottom line, which then affects bonuses & raises. With that being said, it is NEVER a reason to treat a customer poorly. Publix is an employee owned company founded upon customer service. My advice is to find out which competitor coupons your store accepts & use those ONLY. I don’t think it has been mentioned yet, but Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

      • jessica

I want to clarify this comment. I have worked in management, and currently own my own business. Publix does not (and could not, legally) take money directly out of employee paychecks because you used a $5/$25 RiteAid/CVS, or any other coupon. Employees will continue to receive their same hourly wage regardless of what coupons you do or do not use. What Jenny stated is true- many stores give bonuses based on overall success of that store (their bottom line, or overall earnings for the quarter/year). While it is true that using a Rite Aid, CVS, competitor, or other coupon hurts a stores overall earnings, so does doubling coupons, using Publix store coupons, getting the penny item, and taking advantage of B1G1 sales. Does that mean we should not take advantage of any of these, or we should feel guilty for doing so? Of course not. It is the management’s job to provide policies that increase their yearly revenue. It is also the management’s job to reevaluate their policies if they are no longer profitable, which is why you see some Publix stores no longer accepting certain competitor coupons, or no longer doubling coupons that say “do not double,” etc. You should not feel bad for using a $5/$25 coupon if your store’s policy is that they accept these. No Publix employee should ever treat you badly for doing so. Publix, and any business, will provide incentives to customers in order to draw them into their store to get their business, even if it means they lose a small amount of money on a particular item, if they stand to earn more money overall. Take the penny item for example. Publix loses money on the penny item itself every week. However, by drawing in customers who may not have shopped otherwise, they actually make more money overall. Some Publix stores allow $5/$25 coupons because their overall profits increase by taking them since they will bring in extra shoppers who are looking to save a few dollars. Their management is not stupid. A LOT of analysis goes into their policies. Your $5 saved is not going to make any significant difference in their overall quarterly earnings. Think how much money they bring in every day. Do not feel bad for using coupons within their coupon policy. The best thing you can do to help their bottom line is to continue to support their store by shopping there.

    • marina

Here is a coupon for $1.50 off any California pizza product. It says at Whole Foods but it’s a manuQ. Which makes the pizzas for one $1.00. Sorry I have no idea how to attach a link but here is the exact site.

    • Paula

Additional Birdseye coupons are out there. 35 cents off and Save $1.00 on 2 Steamfresh. Cant remember where I got them. I think the Steamfresh is from the Winter Savings book. Haven’t been to Publix yet to see how much the veggies actually are. Should be a good deal.

    • karyn

Does anyone know if the Greenville area Publix take Save-a-Lot coupons?

      • FrugalMama001

The Publix in Mauldin only accepts Bi-Lo and Ingles competitor coupons. I guess if the competitor is within a certain mile radius of the store they will accept them. Check with your Publix customer service before you shop just to be sure….

      • Janine

I printed some coupons from Save-a-lot and they came out as manufacturer coupons…it didn’t have Save-a-lot on them any where….just a heads up.

    • Jennifer

Heads up!! Publix on Pelham in Greenville has the “All the Trimmings” coupon book and the “Winter Family Savings” coupon book….Both are by the door when you walk in….

    • Elizabeth

Anybody have a zip for the SS Swiss Miss coupon?

    • JEB

If you bought or are buying the Snow White blu-Ray or DVD and were planning on doing the $5 Hefty rebate, this week at Food Lion, the Hefty plates are BOGO and the EAsy Grip cups were on sale for .99. Use the coupons from 11/15 Red Plum newspaper insert, and the cups are .49 and the plates are .89. I think there is coupon out for $5 off Snow White online now, too.

    • Renee

Jenny, loved the seminar last night! I see you have a Food Lion coupon listed for a dollar amount off of deli/bakery. I was told that they won’t take those…it was at the Kennerly Road location…will they take them at the Hwy 6 location?

      • Kam

I also enjoyed last night! Hwy 6 will no longer take the Food Lion deli coupon. I was told that it has to be for name specific items.

    • Ashley

I have a question about the Craisins coupon. I went to Publix (greenville, sc) and there wasn’t a coupon on the ocean spray drinks. I was going to get both…the drinks and craisins. But didn’t get either because I couldn’t find the coupon. Has anyone run into them at the Publix? My little girls LOVES craisins, and at .14 a bag it’s a great deal!

      • Kathleen

The peelies that are for craisins or craisins trail mix are on top of the ocean spray label on Ocean Spray sugar free varieties of the juice. They are not easily noticed, as they are the same size/shape of the actual label, but if you look closely, they say save $1.00 now on Craisins and Craisins trail mix in very small print.

Something about this time of year makes them so enjoyable :)

        • Ashley

Thank you Kathleen! Went there this morning, looked again and still couldn’t find them, but after reading your post, I’m going back :) Good thing I live close!

    • Rose

I love your site, but am becoming a bit concerned about the lack of courtesy in some of the comments. The negativity is completly compressing my joy of saving. I understand both spectrums of the argument, but don’t understand why people are arguing.

I conduct my own shopping in a way that fits my family of five, which includes two of the fastest growing teenagers on the planet. I am not a “hoarder” as I need to shop every week and my bill is around $30 each week, but I still probably buy more than most people of any given item. Does buying four boxes of cereal mean I do not care about my fellow man? Hardly. I know who I am as a person. If someone needed food, clothing or shelter… I would be the first in line providing it. I have a charitable spirit, but that spirit does not include not taken care of my own home.

To all the couponers doing the right thing… keep doing it. To all the couponers not doing the right thing… think about your approach. To all those that are constantly finding fault with others, be more understanding of the issue(s) that may drive them… and don’t forget to pick up that rain check.

      • Jenny

I agree with you. I am at a loss though as to how to politely moderate comments, keeping out the negative but still allowing folks to have a voice.

        It’s hard.

        • Rose

Jenny you do a great job. You are providing a service that is keeping a lot of families above water. As a credit and thank you to you, I believe that we as frequent visitors to the site need to behave better. Although you are the moderator, we as adults need to be able to moderate ourselves.

Everyday that I get ready to go to your site, I always have a fear that it will no longer be available because the benefit to you is no longer there. You are not charging anyone a fee, and I truly believe that you are doing that because you want people to save money and get that coupon inducing money saving rush of adrenaline when they shop. I get it EVERYTIME I shop… so thank you. I just don’t want the back-biting, snide comments to make you rethink the value of your service to us.

          • Well said – and I completely agree! I hate that you (Jenny) have to take the time to moderate these comments – and it seems like it’s happening more and more lately! Doesn’t everyone realize how much time it must take for you to get all of these deals posted? And then you have to waste your time reminding folks to be decent to each other! I don’t know how you do it all, but you are truly my “Couponing HERO!” :o) :o) :o) Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

      • lynn

i have also said this before … each familys needs are going to be diffrent as each family has more or fewer people .. i also have a large family so i do and will continue to buy more than a person who has only 2 or three people in the familysometimes i like getting rain checks better cause then i might have better coupons by then god bless and be kind to your nieghbor least you walk a mile in there shoes…thank you jenny for making it so i no longer have to worry about how i am going to feed my family

      • rose & lynn – thanks for the positive comments!! every person shops for different reasons and i’m also so perplexed by the tone of some of the posts. why are some people bothered by what others buy?? switch over to the kroger side and you won’t see all of the snippy comments. i’m always so proud of the people that post what they buy and what they spent oop. this site and others like it, want you to maximize your purchases/savings while also allowing you the choice to care for your fellow man, if you are so inclined. i don’t necessarily have to coupon for myself/family because we do ok — but it has allowed me the freedom to give back to so many people that i know live paycheck to paycheck. and there is no better thrill than filling up a box of your extras and giving it away!! and for that reason alone, couponing fulfills its purpose for me!!! go get your rain check, hug your kids and cheer on your fellow couponers!!!!

        • lynn

Lori well said and bless i am dissabled and and my family lives on my mere 674.00 a month because of couponing i personaly can no longer afford generic items i can only afford name brand…..my kids have no clue we are low income……coupons have afforded me more than my income ever could and yes lots of extras to donate with out coupons i could hardly afford everyday essentals never mind extras for some one less fortunate than me …….. i hope you have a happy and blessed thanksgiving / christmas.. happy couponing all

          • LD

LoL isnt that the truth . I can no longer afford to buy generic brands . I so know where you are coming from about the kids have no idea about the finances . My middle child had no clue [ I couponed for a long time] not untill she was grown with her own child on the way did it dawn on her. lol. I had to quit couponing though when I got to sick to even cut them out but am back again after a few years off . And have to say I am loving that more and more stores are taking printed coupons and so many more to get . I hate that the coupon services have become so expensive and there seems to be less of them . But that goodness for printable and cvs and walgreens so I can get ink with rr and ecbs . I can now have starbucks once in a while and it had been years that I was able to afford things like icecram lol. So once again . Thank goodness I cant afford generics or no treats lol.

    • Kaisa

FYI – I was just looking on the internet and this ad came up for $1.00 off I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter. Maybe it will work for everyone.

      • Margaret

        Thank you!!

    • Publix on Overton Rd in Birmingham just got in the winter savings booklets!! They are right as you walk in the store, and there were quite a few left. This was the 4th publix I’ve been to in the past 2 weeks looking for these. They also have All The Trimmings coupon book in the same display with over $20 in coupons, both manufacturers and publix!!! Many of the coupons go along with this week’s ad. Also they still have the Homemade and Heartfelt Dessert books and there is a Glad display with tear off coupons!! Tons of tearpads and new blinkies!!!

    • Sharon

I’m so excited! Just got back from my Publix and spent $71 but saved $103. The cashier was excited, too, which was nice to see. She said that she’d seen so many customers coming through her line tonight with $200 orders and they didn’t have nearly as much food as I had. Thank you so much for posting the sale and coupon info. It is a huge help, and makes this kind of savings possible.

    • Melissa

Just got back from Publix and saved $153!! Spent $98. It as really nice to be able to stock up on lots of things especially since we will be hosting the fam for Thanksgiving.
Met a really nice woman and her husband. It is so fun to talk with someone who is doing the same thing with the coupons. :-) Hope you saved a lot!!

      • Melissa,

It was fun to talk to you also. We saved $96 and spent $48. I hope we see each other again. Have a good Thanksgiving. I too was buying for next week. When we checked out the cashier was really nice. He was impressed with how much we saved. I enjoy our Publix. Thanks to Jenny!

        • Melissa

Good Morning Susan! The cashier I checked out with was very nice also. He said his wife does the same thing with coupons and checking all the wonderful sites like this one. :-) When I got home my hubby was very impressed.
I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving, and I am sure we will meet again!!

          • Good Morning to you also Melissa. I know which cashier you are talking about and he is real nice. He was not on a register when we got ready to check out but the older name was just as nice. I really have fun in the grocery store now! Happy Thanksgiving!

    • Sherri

The Target coupon booklet that came in the 10-25 paper has $1.50 OFF 2 Breyers Ice Cream AND .75 cents OFF 2 Hellmann’s Mayo…also if you had bought any Banquet frozen meals (the ones that are usually $1) there were coupons on the inside of the box to cut & one was .35 cents OFF Banquet Brown n Serve Sausage, making it only .24 cents with the sale!

    • Diana

I just left the Publix in Decatur, AL and the cashier told me that they are now letting you stack a Publix Q, Competitor Q, and the Manufacture’s Q all together, I don’t know about any of the other Publix’, but I am super excited about this, wish I would have known before I went, I had more Q.s I could have used. Thought I would just pass this on, I just started couponing and I love this site, y’all have been so helpful.

      • Taylor

The Deactur store will also let you use expired coupons up to a week past the expiration date!

    • Harriette

There is a $1.00 off 2 Cabot products here (IE) or here (FF)

    • vani vennapusa

Thanks Jenny for providing such great deals with
matchup coupons everyweek.I am enjoying every bit of saving
for my family of 4.Now my publix have donation box ,
so I am able to donate some of food which I have
stockpiled over couple of months.I am happy
that we couponers can help other families who are in need of food.

    • Diana

Often when I try to print, I am told to download the coupon printer. Sometimes it will download, but often it starts the process over without success. I try again. I get no coupons and I am told that I have printed the limit.

      • Michelle

that really stinks when that happens. Are you rebooting after it installs?

        • Diana

I have tried rebooting and also just to print. Sometimes it prints and sometimes it tells me to install the printer again. I can’t seem to find any consistant way to get the coupons. I hope someone can tell me what works for them. Thanks for your reply, Michelle

    • lisa sherrill

WOW I am new to this website totally awesome. There is a new publix in my neighborhood I went for the grand opening and turned around and left because the prices are so much higher than all the other grocery stores in my area… now that i am on this site I see the savings and i believe i will be a regular publix shopper. My first visit after looking at this site saved me $68! I am so excited. thanks for all you do.
Antioch Tn Publix accepts Kroger Target and Food Lion coupons !

      • THe Antioch store is very pretty. :) I went over there once to check it out (during their grand opening) but it’s waaay out of my way.

    • DOUG
      • Brandie

Thank you so much for posting this coupon. I was very disappointed b/c I didn’t receive it in my paper (regional thing I guess) but this post cheered me right up! My family loves these rolls. Thanks again!

    • Christine

Just returned from a trip to the Carrollton, GA Publix and was told that they no longer accepted coupons from non-grocery stores. I had given the cashier a couple of Target coupons. We have a Target in the same shopping center but it is not a SuperTarget. Not sure if the Douglasville, GA Publix would consider SuperTarget a grocery store… Still love this Publix though!

    • Michele

The Publix in Hermitage, TN today told me they were no longer taking Target coupons but he would as a courtesy. I thought that was nice considering it was $6.00.

I hate that because I have less Kroger-Food lion coupons. Oh well, it was great while it lasted. I still love my Publix!

Thanks Jenny for such a great site.

    • nina

deal alert lol .. uncrustables have a 1$ manf. coupon out right now. and in publix’s yellow thanksgiving flyer there is a publix coupon for 1$ off. I got a box for 89 cents :) also the fruitables juice boxes I had a 1$ off manf. coupon and in the wintersavings booklet there was a 1 dollar off publix coupon. made it 89 cents for the juice boxes.

    • DeeDee

I spent $32 today and SAVED $136!! WOO HOO!!! I used 68 coupons in all!! Also, made the women who got in line 2 people back quite upset! She kept muttering about it being ridiculous and that Publix was losing money. I still was polite to her and the cashier. I LOVE Publix!!!

      • Carol

Oh, I have had people like that behind me in line. I really think they are just jealous. I just smile and go on.

        • jerri

What I do before they start getting their stuff out I tell them I have a lot of coupons it might take a while and the appreciate, the either go to another line or they don’t mind waiting, but yesterday the lady behind me was so upset. I save about $305.00 and pay out pocket $137.78 :)

    • jerri

I can’t find the $0.65 coupon from publix where can I find it.

      I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! Spread or Spray, at $2.85 ($1.42)
-.65/1 I Can’t Believe Spread Flyer in Publix (store coupon)

      • DeeDee

They were located in the front of my store. BUT, I found them weeks ago and saved them.

    • DJane

      Good Deal Alert

    • Melissa

Can I use the Pepperidge farm stuffing q’s together? My Publix takes Target so can I use two 50 cents and the 1/2

      • jerri

Yes, you can use both coupons

    • Kat

can someone give me a zip for the smithfield bacon? TIA!

    • Liz

Wow! I just came back from Publix and what a score. Now I am new to this so I am not getting my weekly groceries for $40 or under like some of you are, but I am very happy that I paid ~$115 with savings of ~$110! The coupon savings were ~$32 and the advertised special savings were ~$75. I used to spend $100+ a week on groceries without blinking an eye and I definitely would not have had a full grocery cart. As a single person I never have a full grocery cart unless I have been out of town for a few weeks. I even scored some free eggs from one of the new circulars because I had bought the Sargento shredded cheese. Way cool.

I am taking over a bag or two of the extras to my Mom’s house when I drive over for Thanksgiving. Oh the best deal was the hearing aid batteries which Publix has on sale for $5.99 each. I had two $2 off coupons which made two packages of 8 hearing aid batteries for just under $8. That is 8 weeks of batteries for my Mom to use. This IS fun.

    • Is there an another way to get the b2g1 coupon for clorox wipes. i have tried to register 5 times now and it keeps saying i am missing a field and i am not missing anything. help thanks

    • sara

The Publix in Pelham,AL (Valleydale and Hwy 31) has plenty of Green and Yellow Advantage savings booklets, All the Trimmings booklets, and the Family magazines. They are on the big Information Center turning stand in the entrance where the buggies live.

    • JK

The Clorox wipes on sale are the 75 count for $3.99. The B2G1 Clorox coupon is for the 35 count ONLY…as are the -.50/1 coupons. The 35 count Clorox Wipes are $2 each. The coupons listed don’t work for the big container of 75. I just purchased 3 of the 35 count using the B2G1 and (2) -.50/1 coupons and only paid $2. So technically I got 3 for 1!

      • Jenny

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll fix the list, I’m glad you still got a good deal!

    • Jennifer

Thanks to the two ladies today who went in & out of the Hixson Publix FIVE times each to use $5 off a $25 dollar order CVS coupon. When I went to use mine, they said they are no longer accepting those since they are not a competitor in the immediate area around the store. The cashier told me about the 2 ladies earlier in the day. So much for not abusing the system. On a positive note, the store had everything on my list. Love, love my Publix!!!

    • Rhonda

Does anyone know if Publix takes Target or Walgreen coupons in the Ocala, Fl area?

      • Daryn

Yes, they take Target and Walgreens coupons in Ocala.

    • Janine

      Shopped @ Publix sale today – Total in cart: $140.91 ~ Paid: $72.97 ~ Saved: $67.94

I shopped the Cumming, GA store on Atlanta Hwy. and they will combine a retailer coupon with manufacturer coupon, and if you are spending over $20 with two people (like husband and wife shopping together) they have allowed us to buy two of the 1 cent deals without having to split our order up. I usually go to the Publix further east on 20 and they have allowed us to do the same thing. I just usually check with the manager on duty before I start shopping. They also took the Target coupon but said they don’t take BJ’s and a couple other stores. They will also accept the $5 off purchase of $25 from CVS but only one per order, it can not be combined with another $5 off purchase, etc. from a different store.

The best price was on the Philadelphia cream cheese: $1.29 – I printed the Publix retailer coupon for $1 off one plus had a manufacturer coupon for $1/3 – bought 4 packages and only paid 4 cents for each. I love couponing!! Happy shopping everyone!

      • Michelle

I think you got lucky….the Retailer coupons are manufacturer coupons so I am surprised they stacked them.

        • Michelle,
I’m sorry, but Publix (retailer) coupons ARE NOT manufacturer coupons.

          • Jennifer

I thought retailer & manufacturer were the same thing as well. The Publix store coupons always have a LU# on the bottom. Unless I’m misunderstanding something?

        • Janine

The retailer coupons are store coupons, manufacturer coupons come from the makers of the products…they are not the same. If it has the store name on the coupon it is usually a retailer. This was my first time stacking and I learned from this website that you could do that…I have been couponing for a year now and missed out on a lot of opportunities!

Anyway, each store is different and each manager can be different, so my best advice is to check with them with any questions before you do your shopping.

          • Lisa

Some coupons state “Retailer Coupon” at the top of the coupon, but if you look at who is reimbursing the store, it says MANUFACTURER. So these type are Manufacturer coupons.

    • Teresa

The coupon for the Uncle Ben’s rice is listed wrong it’s not a 10/8 RP but a 11/8. Just a typo I guess.

    • New to This

Today was my first “couponing” trip. I spent 69 and saved 40. Is that bad for a first time? I was dissapointed, Ive saved that much without even trying just by buying things on sale. I was a little unhappy bc when I got home I realized that my 4 betty crocker “fiber one” brand muffins were NOT marked at B1G1 free ( a deal I was excited about ). Also, the cashier must not have rang up my B1G1 free dove deodorant so I ended up spending 6 dollars on doedorant I didn’t really need.

One thing Im wondering is how do you still get a good deal without buying things you wouldnt normally? I wanted muffins at .27 each, but not at 2-3 dollars each. Same with the deodorant. I feel like I got a lot of stuff, but had I just bought the things I normally would have bought I would have spent less money (usually 40-50 dollars). Am I doing this wrong?

      • Don’t be too hdard on yourself. This takes time and practice just like anything else.

Also, there are a couple of different ways that you can shop at first. The first couple of months that I was couponing and building my stockpile I didn’t spend any less money, but I bought WAY more groceries. For example, instead of buying one package of boneless skinless chicken breasts when they were $1.79/lb I bought 20 lbs worth. Now I don’t need to buy anything so I can wait until it is at the absolute best price. When you are just starting out you can’t do that because you can’t exactly eat 10 boxes of pasta, 2 boxes of cereal & a bag of potatoes and have that last you all week for breakfast, lunch and dinner… you still have to buy your staples. Do you see what I mean?

I am just telling you all this to say don’t give up you will figure it out and as your stockpile grows & grows & grows you will start spending less money because you will only NEED to buy milk, bread, eggs & veggies & can buy everything else for free or pennies (or at least the lowest price possible).

Don’t give up it takes time!

      • Paula

Oh, I’ve been there! You are not alone! We all started out learning, and we all still make mistakes! Don’t be so hard on yourself!

A couple of tips, learned at the School of Hard Knocks:
*** do your best to check the register as the cashier is ringing you up. That way you can tell if something isn’t going to work right immediately and you can get it fixed immediately/

*** check your register tape before you walk out the door. That way if something isn’t right, you can get it fixed at the Customer Service desk.

*** If you don’t have time to do all of that (and I’ve shopped with a child enough to know that it isn’t always possible!), then when you do check over your receipt, pull out the questionable items and take them back to the store on your next trip. I have returned many things to the store if it wasn’t the deal I thought it was going to be. I’m not militant about it, but since I am trying to buy things when they are good deals, not just when I need it (at full price), it doesn’t make sense to me to keep the full price mistake.

All of that being said, I know that some stores and some deals are easier. And that’s something you’ll learn too. Probably the best thing is to keep deals small and have a good idea how much the end price should be. That way, you can catch it at the store instead of when you get home.

Good luck to you in your couponing journey! It’s very rewarding!

    • Cindy

My Publix in Kennesaw told me today that they do NOT allow you to stack a Publix, competitor, and manufacturer’s coupon on the same item. They said they do not know of any Publix stores that allow that. They said a competitor’s Q is considered a store Q. Am I misunderstanding something about the coupon policy?

      • Jennifer

A competitor coupon is the same as a store coupon, so for one item you can use a competitor OR store coupon AND a manufacturer coupon. I hope this helps.

        • Cindy

Thanks, Jennifer! I must have misunderstood what is posted in the coupon policy at the top of this listing. What does the last part of this statement mean: “Publix accepts competitor’s coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon)”?

          • Jennifer

I think stores used to accept all three for one item, but have now changed the policy to either a competitor or store coupon. Some stores might accept all three, but my Publix does not. Ask customer service & they can tell you your stores policy.

    • Dena

I don’t seem to have the Ritz Q from the paper AND I can’t seem to get the $1 off link to work! Does anyone know where I can print that Q? Thanks!!!

    • Alan

My Publix accepted a $20 off 50 Wold Market coupon along with $5 off from CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid.

    • Whitney

      THANK YOU!
I just can’t tell you how much easier you’ve made my life with the printable grocery lists. You are such a blessing!!!!!

    • Kendra

I just want to say thank you to everyone who contributes to the constant work of this site! THANK YOU!
I have been couponing seriously for a few weeks now! Here is my latest! Publix spent 39.11 saved 86.32!! WOO HOO!!

    • Sofia

My wonderful coworker found a $1.00 off Snapple Tea 6-pack
      Thanks Beth!!
      coupons.com with zip code 77477

      • Janine

Sofia, Thanks for the info!! I bought some yesterday, but now I will go back with the coupon and get some more! Awesome!

    • Carrie

Surprisingly enough, my Publix in Carrollton doesn’t stock (to our best knowledge) Fresh Gourmet Salad Toppings. After the produce man, routine floor stocker, and customer service helped me search out the store for this item, I gave up the hunt. But it teases me when I flip open my coupon organizer taunting “I am freeeeee, and you can’t get me.”

      • ElaineHN

I *THINK* I found them at the Carrollton Publix a few weeks ago … but I don’t remember if they were on the bottom shelf in the salad dressing aisle … near the croutons, etc. … or if they were on the small sets of shelves that surround the area where the produce person prepares the fresh packaged salads and fruits (just in front of the seafood counter) … sorry I can’t be more definite, but I’ll try to remember to look for them again next time I’m there.

        • Carrie

The hunt was on and we found them tonight thanks to your detailed sightings. :o)
The coupon haunts me no longer.

      • Tracey

Someone helped me find them – they were on the bottom shelf next to the croutons in the salad dressing section. There were 2-3 small bags of them and I would’ve never noticed them there without his help.

        • Carrie

I never noticed them in that location before and specifically remember checking there. I had kind of hoped for a fruit or nut topping but I settled for the tortilla ones since it was the only one they stocked besides the fried onions.

    • Amy

Can I just say this is a great week at Publix! I have shopped 3 times this week….the middle trip was for church….and I was able to donate a whole box of food….I just went again today…kinda spur of the moment…just really wanted to get the penny item…ended up saving $36.09 and spent $0.51 for 2 bags of groceries!! Thank you so much Jenny for all you do….you are helping so many people and do not even realize it!! :)

    • ElaineHN

Has anyone matched any of the most recent insert coupons (11/22/09) up to this week’s Publix deals?

I know the ones posted from previous inserts, but just didn’t want to miss anything from the newest coupons… but I haven’t had a chance to go through my newspapers yet and may not get a chance before the end of the day since I’m at work.

    • Jonathan

Awesome, the only thing I was going to take advantage of…I yet again don’t have a coupon for. Mt Olive pickle coupons are NOT in the 11/1 SS for my area.

    • Janine

I found a discrepancy with the Dunkin Donuts coffee in my area(Cumming, GA)…my 11/15 RP has a coupon for $1.50/2 bags 11 oz. or larger…

    • Barbara

ALERT! Publix in Summerville SC on Trolly Road will no longer double any manufacturer coupon that says do not double or triple.

      • Holly

OMG!! I am going to call the one on Dorchestor Road because I used to go to both. That freaks me out!!LOL I hope the Dorchestor store is not starting to so that. I did call about the $20 off $50 purchase from World Market and at the Dorchestor store they do take it!! I am excited about that!

      • Mindy

Were you able to use other coupons with the $20/$50? I called Dorchester Road last night and they said they were excepting it, but you couldn’t use any other coupons. I didn’t think to ask if she
meant competitor coupons and manufactor coupons.

I might have to go to Trolley instead. I understand they are expecting both.

        • Janet

Bees Ferry Publix let me use the $20 off 50 World Market plus a $5 coupon from Rite-Aid!! Wooo Hooo. They are always great!

          • Janet

I used all of my other coupons just like always, just handed her the $20 coupon first, then after she took them all off, I gave her the $5 off–saved over $100. only paid around $25.

Well good news……I went to Publix on Dorchestor Road today and they took both the 20 off 50 and the Rite-Aida 5 off 25. Got a cart full of groceries. Paid 42.17 and saved 93.23!!! LOVE MY CASHIER KRISTINA!!!

I had my first shopping trip to Publix today. It was well worth it and I had to drive 25 miles to our Publix. I’ll definitely be going back!!!

The Philidelphia cream cheese isn’t showing up on the link. Are they no longer offering it?

The dole pineapple was $0.60 a can after BOGO at Publix in Nashville, making it a $0.40 money maker!!!!

I tried to use a Food Lion coupon at a Publix in Madison, AL. The cashier said they no longer take Food Lion coupons, because Food Lion is not a compeditor in this area.

My best trip to Publix so far, I got a buggy full of groceries ($170.00 worth) for $45.00. I was so happy, the cashier and the person behind me were so surprised. WOW.

I ordered mine in late August and I already got my first issue last week. I’m sorry I can’t tell you what to do but you should definitely be getting them by now.

I saw a woman today use a $20 world market coupon and a $10 piggly wiggly coupon at publix. Plus all of her other manufactureres coupons. She got a $300 order for under $5 including a huge turkey!!!

I just got back from Publix and used a Food Lion $10 off $25 order coupon I had almost forgotten about that I got in the mail. I did not think I would have enough to use the $25 off $75 Piggly Wiggly coupon, so I used the Food Lion one instead. I had my 3 year old clinging to my leg as I shopped. If she had not been with me, I could have paid closer attention and totaled up on my calculator and realized it…That would have made my entire order free and maybe a little overage! For the first time ever! I had coupons for all but 3 things. Instead I paid $13.19 and saved $57.10…I also had a reporter that had called me earlier about doing a story about shopping with coupons this week, but never heard back from her…That would have been a good story! She missed out.

Does anyone know if Publix price matches WalMart sale prices? If so, can you use manufacturer coupons on top of price matches?

    • JEB

They do not price match. The only store that pricematches is Walmart. Target claims to, but is VERY hard to do and are very picky. You have to take the ad with you.

Thanks. I was hoping to get the sweet potatoes at Publix for the .25 per lb WalMart price. And the Swanson broth for the WalMart price plus use coupons. Have to re-think that one now.

Has anyone tried the World market coupons at the Pelham,AL Publix? I may attempt that one today!
