I have 3 Free Smart Bal. milk wyb SB Spread and 3 Free SB sticks wyb sb Spread, do you think these can be used together when I buy three spreads, or should I get 6 spreads to make it one per free coupon? Also, a side note, I notice my Publix is always out of a lot of sale items on Sunday, if you have noticed the same, are they normally well re-stocked by the last day of the sale or is it necessary for you to shop on day one?

    • Jenny
I am confused. I got two RP on 3/15 and the only Lipton tea coupon I found was $1.00 of two. Not the .60 and .75 ones you found…

    • Also wanted to say that there is a $1.00 off Publix coupon for Fresh express, making it $1.50

    • Nioka Rose

      Hi Jenny,

I enjoyed your coupon class last Saturday in Atlanta. Keep up the good work! Could you please add Harris Teeter printables to your site?

Oh and FYI, I was able to use register rewards at BILO.

    • Carol L

I was wondering where the Simple ways to save flyer is located in Publix. I have looked and can’t seem to find it.

    • Joy

I couldn’t find it at my store either (NW Florida). Sometimes every Publix doesn’t seem to get every flyer. I was able to order some though from thecouponclippers.com I want that free toothpaste!

    • Joy

With the Smart Balance deal: Our area got FREE milk wyb spread. There is also a $1.00/1 printable at the Smart Balance website.

Blue Bell ice cream is on sale $3.99 and there is a $1.00 printable at their website if you sign up for their club thing.

Does anyone know if Blue Bell every goes B1G1?

Question about the Bumble Bee Prime Tuna: We didn’t get those coupons in our area and when I look at ebay and clipper stores, I only find some for $s off POUCHES. Is that the coupon listed? Does it work for the cans?

    • Michelle

Having trouble printing Fast Fixins Coupon.

    • Heather

For people in Florida who have true B1G1 sales instead of half price like the rest of us, you can use the free Kashi entree mailer to get 2 free! I requested my coupon and it came within the week, so you may still be able to get it if it’s still available on the website.

If the HoneyMaid Bees are included in the BOGO, there was a coupon in one of the inserts a few weeks ago for $1/2. My 15mo old loves the bees. :D

    • Joy

Thanks Heather! I saw that too, but didn’t expect my free coupon to come so soon. I requested about 5 days ago, so maybe, just maybe…

    • maggie

There is a $1.00 off of sungle cream in the March all you.

    • Carol

Publix Northwest Metro Atlanta – had a nice chat with District Manager. Publix DOES NOT price match; will accept competitor’s q’s – but is up to discretion of management as to if they will accept CVS, Walgreen’s, Rite-Aid. They try to keep the customer happy, so shopping “is a pleasure”, but sometimes the customer is off base – someone came in with 60 of the same coupon for baby food that is only 50cents a jar and demanded her $30.00 of cash back….

    • Carol

Publix Northwest Metro Atlanta – almost forgot – they DO NOT take Catalinas even when I explained that they were manufacturer’s q’s…he said something to the effect about the mice type on the coupon says it’s only redeemable at the store where you got the Catalina…

    • Sylvie

Thank you SO SO SO much for all your hard work here. I did the 2nd half of my publix shopping last night and saved $38 in coupons!!! My grocery bill was only $75 and wouldn’t have been that high if I hadn’t splurged on a chocolate cake from the bakery and a sandwich from the deli!!! The savings were AMAZING to me (and to the cashier)

I followed your advice and called first about competitor coupons. I have a Super Target just down the road, so I asked if they were honoring their coupons for groceries. The first Publix I called said “no” so I tried a 2nd one which is just as close and they said “yes” so I went a step further and asked about Wallgreens. They said “yes” to that too!!! I didn’t have the guts to try and use my register rewards from Wallgreens, but now that I know they’re actually manufacturer’s coupons… I might try it next time.

I DID find some “free money” with Reynolds Oven bags. My publix had the Turkey bags on clearance for .50. The coupon from 3/15 paper was for $1 off… so a .50 bonus x 4 went to pay for my sandwich in the deli! :)

Thank you SO much for your help. I truly appreciate it!!

    • Brandy

I’m sad because my Publix has changed it’s rules and they will only take coupons from other “grocery” stores. They will no long accept Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Rite Aid or CVS. So now I can’t double my deals on the coupons from those stores.

    • Teri

Jenny, Would you teach us, online, how to understand the numbers on coupons like you taught in Atlanta?

    • Stephenie

I appreciate your coupon match-ups with the ads. Will you be posting the Bi-Lo ad for this week soon? I was able to get a few freebies last week by reading your post first! Thanks!!!

    • Nikki

Love the site..helps me save tons

I wanted to add that I am a cashier at Publix (for 8 years) and some of your guys comments can be a little hurtful. Things like “the cashier wouldnt do this..or that”. It is not up to us. We have NO control over anything. Not how things ring up or whether to take a coupon or not. The managers and team leaders are on us CONSTANTLY about EVERYTHING! Seriously..they are like voltures, circling, waiting to tear us up…All day I have customers yell at me about “YOU!!! Didnt scan that right..its this price!!!!!!!!!!!! *fire blaring out their mouths*”

If you REALLY want to use coupons and not have to deal with a cashier who will “give you trouble” my advice would be to shop at night..when the high schoolers are there. Most of them don’t care and will scan/take any coupon you give them. Avoid older ladies..they are usually very stickler. MAKE FRIENDS with the cashier. When people are actually nice to me, I am more than willing to help them out AND give them coupons they didn’t even know we had!

    • Becca

Anyone know if the Crest toothpaste is still on sale this week? I see it on the post but not in the store ad?

    • Jenny

It is part of the Essentials sale (back page of the ad), it will probably be on sale for a few weeks.

    • Kim

I just want to thank you for all that you do! Your website is my absolute favorite and I trust it more than any others that I’ve found! I wanted to let you know that I found a $2.00/2 All coupon in my coupon pouch. I’m guessing it is from SS 2/08 but I can’t be for certain.
      Thanks again!

    • Joy

Just want to say that I love Publix! And my strategy for finding a cashier who “won’t give me trouble”, is to follow the rules! I ask the Customer Service manager questions all the time so that I can make sure what is allowed and what isn’t. And she and everyone else at my Publix is more than willing to take coupons. I feel like it is a priviledge that Publix takes competitor coupons and I don’t complain that they don’t from Walgreens and CVS anymore.

I do have to say that I avoid the little old ladies, not because I’m trying to pull a fast one, but because they seem to analyze EVERYTHING and it just takes longer. I know they’re just trying to do their job though.

    • tracey

kashi.com also has a free frozen entree coupon plus get another $2 one all on their website :) ALSO SPREAD the WORD about this website to others in line…thats what happened to me from a sweet mom at Publix. I love this saver website!

    • Melanie

I used Target coupons in conjunction with the printables, ones from the paper, and Food Lion coupons.

I am new to couponing, and had my best week ever–reduced my total bill from $178 to $85!! My husband is amazed!! Thanks for all your help on this website. I have reduced my weekly grocery/toiletry budget from #300/week to $100/week for a family of 5!!

    • Dianne

I love Publix and I brag on it to everyone. I saw that Publix was rated #6 in the country for customer service, and my experience speaks to that. I am always treated courteously, and I love the other perks….super clean stores….take to your car service….great deals. I know that couponing must be a huge headache for you guys, but we sure need the savings – now more than ever. I appreciate the job you & your fellow cashiers do and am passing along an “atta girl” to you.

Also to all interested, I got a great deal on Smart Balance today. Got the twin cup of spreadable for $1.50, used the buy twin cup get sticks free. Cashier gave me full value of free Q of $4.70 when actual price was I think $3.69. I don’t know if I could have used the $1 Q too, but was still happy with the great deal.

    • Paula

Nikki is right in the way it is for us at Publix. I am Customer Service and it would be helpful if everyone would stop by the Customer Service desk and just ask what is accepted at the Publix they shop at. We are more than happy to tell you before you get to the cashier and get upset with them for not taking your coupons. My Publix takes just about any coupon (but we are a newer store trying to make people happy with Publix). We are getting pickier especially when it comes to people trying to cheat the system and use Xerox copies of manufacturers coupons, and insisting on money back when they use 20 and 30 of the same coupon (like the Food Lion Baby Food Coupon), when we are trying to be accomodating just taking a competitors coupon – and we don’t even have a Food Lion around us!!

I’m with Nikki – ask before trying. And follow the rules! I too get yelled at every day, it not by the customer for not taking a certain coupon – then we get yelled at by the boss for taking it (seems a poor cashier just can’t win).

    • paige

NIkki, I had a bad publix day myself I did not read 1 of my coupons right and they would not take my competitor coupons that my other publix takes I am always nice about these things but after I mess up on 1 coupon I feel like they think I am trying to pull one over on them. I also under stand reading all the coupons but to sit their and take 20 minutes to just read my coupons and scan them is way way to much its unnecessary and uncalled for this is what happened to me today it took longer to check out than it took me to shop this is sad to me and I was mad by the time I left but I was nice to the cashier as always thats my #1 rule he even made me wait after he finished scanning my coupons just to go over them again and again after my receipt had printed out. These things happen to most of us, and I dont think when we come here to vent you should take it to heart its not you we talk about its the bad cashiers that like to test us in every way the ones that take things a lot farther than they need to.

    • Paula

You should not use both coupons when purchasing a single item. You can not get the free stick Smart Bal and also the free Milk with that same purchase. Publix is accomodating and great at customer service, but they also want to make a profit.
Also, if Publix is out of a sale item – just go to the customer service desk and ask for a rain check. You can get a rain check for up to 4 of that item. This will let you buy it at sale price when the item is back in stock. Ask your Publix how long the rain check is good for (ours is 10 days).

    • jennifer

Can’t print the trail mix crunch cereal coupon, is anyone else having problems?

    • Suzanne

I had to use Firefox (instead of explorer) to get the trail mix crunch Q to print.

    • Ronda

Where in Publix can I find the All well and Good Booklet?

    • tennille

I have previously attempted to print the trail mix coupon on numerous computers and it never worked. The publix here told me they will have new booklets this week with the sales paper.

    • Ashley

#8 – I had no problem printing the fast fixins – in fact – I hit print once and my printer printed 10 coupons.

#29 – I have been waiting a good 15 minutes for the Trail Mix coupon and it still has not printed. I completed the “having trouble” section so maybe they will email it? I really wanted to try that cereal.

    • Melissa

Hi! If anyone lives in B’ham, there was a Publix $5 off $30 purchase coupon in the Tuesday ciculars…

    • Paula

Check the pharmacy for the All Well and Good Booklet.

    • Paula

Coke 12 pks. are also on sale at buy 3 and get 1 free. A&W and 7-Up 2 liters are on sale BOGO.

    • Jana

There’s a great coupon at Publix now for a free reusable grocery bag when you buy two of a number of household products. It’s printed on regular paper (not shiny coupon paper) and it’s a bright green half-sheet of paper. In Columbia I found it at the customer service desk at the Gervais Place Publix.

    • Brandy

      Hey Melissa,
I’m in the Birmingham area and I checked the circulars that came out in my paper on Wednesday but I do not see the 5 off of 30 coupon. Was it in the newspaper or a circular? I also get my grocery sales papers on Wed. Do you get them Tuesday instead?

    • Sande

When i click on the link to get the new Food Lion coupons, it says that the page is not there… am i missing something?

by the way, i stopped paying for the Grocery Game when i realized that you did the exact same thing… only better. thank you for all you are doing!

    • Melody

I cannot seem to print the trailmix crunch coupon. I have tried on two different computers/printers. Any suggestions?

    • Christie

Green Giant Frozen Veggie Deal at Publix this week.

I didn’t see this deal listed above, but it worked for me this morning.

Publix has Green Giant Frozen Vegetables 10 for $10 this week.
Click here for a $.50 off 1 printable coupon (I think you can print 2 coupons from this site). http://www.bettycrocker.com/products/green-giant/whats-new.aspx

If your store doubles, it makes this item free for your freezer!

    • Kabba

Does anyone know how to print the PENNY ITEM from the publix website? Im not sure where to find it?

    • I can’t find the Trop50 Orange Juice coupon on RedPlum.com. Can someone help?

      • Jenny

It’s don’t think it’s on Red Plum.com is was in the Red Plum insert in this past Sunday’s paper. It would be great if they put the sunday coupons online to print, but they don’t :(

    • Okay, im very new to this and its a little confusing to me (not hard to do:)!
Thanks so much for the help!

    • beth

just wanted to warn you that some publix stores are changing their q policies so that you can’t get overages (free with overage). My shopping trip was not a pleasure there today because I had to explain to the cashier that I was buying 3 items and had 3 q’s, yes you can take all three qs. She said she could only take 1. I asked, can you just scan it and try. She called the customer service person over who told her that I could use all three qs. Then the cashier changed the price on the q, to make it so I couldn’t get the overages. The CS person “tried” to explain that they were trying to prevent scams… well, she couldn’t really explain what they were trying to do (her words, not mine!!!) kinda frustrated… anyway, just fyi

    • Hi all,

I have a question for Paula, as she is being so helpful in answering a lot of questions. Paula, hope you see this – and thank you in advance! :-)

I saw your comment saying that Emma should not stack her “free” offers for the Smart Balance products. My question is, I thought coupon stacking was permitted – are you saying we can only stack discount coups rather than “freebies” on a single product purchase? I probably would have thought I could use both together, because with that single purchase I would be fulfilling the criteria for each coupon. I am just trying to understand, because I am one of those people who never knew you could stack anything – I always thought the rule was no more than one “deal” per item (i.e, one coupon per item). I am learning from this wonderful site and all the deals I am finding at our local stores that this is not the case, but when I read your comment that is what I understood you to say – only one “buy something, get something free” deal per purchase. I am just curious, if that is the case, how is that different from any other deal where we stack things?

Thanks in advance if you (or anyone else) can set me straight here!

    • jennifer

Thanks Christie for the green giant coupon, I totally missed that one!

    • Michelle A.

My Publix (in Miami) still has the TGI Friday’s Meals $2.00 blinkies coupons!! I just bought 2 meals (and grabbed 2 more coupons for later, too) ;-)

    • Christie

jennifer – glad to help! I am totally new at this couponing thing, so I’m excited to jump in with the experts!

    • Nancy

I need clarification on stacking coupons at Publix if someone can help.

My friend told me I can use 3 coupons on one item = 1 MFR + 1 Publix + 1 Competitor (and all under 50 cents would double). Is this correct? I was thinking you could only use 1 MFR + 1 Store (Publix OR Competitor) = total of 2 coupons for one item. I am just getting started so I am easily confused (sorry).

PS–Does anyone in the Columbia area know if the Publix at Trenholm Plaza still accepts non-grocery-store competitor coupons like CVS, Walgreen’s or etc.?

      • Jenny

You can use 1 store, 1 manf and 1 competitor at most Publix stores. Some will say that the competitor counts as a store coupon but not many. However only the manufacturer coupon will double, all the other coupons will be at face value.

    • Christie

anyone else have trouble finding the Spray-n-Wash printable?

    • Kristen

Publix in Trenholm Plaza in Columbia does NOT accept Target, Walgreens, CVS coupons. Only competitor-grocery coupons- although last week I attempted to use a Food Lion and the cashier looked at me as if I thought I was at a Food Lion and wouldn’t accept it. Wasn’t worth an argument over $1. I just went back with it the next time and another cashier accepted it. They are pretty helpful at this Publix. Happy shopping!

    • Teresa

What is the All Well booklet and where can I find one at the store?

      • Jenny

It was in stores over a month ago near the pharmacy. I doubt that you could find them now though. There were so many good coupons that they flew off the shelves.

    • Julie

Lately, my Red Plum inserts do not have some of the coupons listed for items. I’m in Irmo, SC. Why would this be? Anyone?? (For example, the $0.50/$0.55 off Allen frozen veggies on sale at Bi-Lo this week (listed coupons from Red Plum 3/1). I’ve had this come up with Red Plum a lot. Help me understand if you can someone! Thanks!

      • Jenny

Red Plum and Smart Source both have a large regional variations to their inserts. In Columbia we are kind of a level 2 paper we don’t get all of the coupons but we get most. The top level regions (in our area Atlanta, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Orlando) get them all and their dollar amount will probably be higher values too. If you have a way of getting one of those papers instead of The State you will find better coupons. (I don’t have a way so I’m with you). I do try to list all of the coupons though so that folks in the bigger cities know they have coupons they can use.

    • I had a problem stacking the Green Advantage Buy Cover Girl coupon with a Manufacturer coupon today. The teenage checker said it was new last week or so that they stopped allowing that. The fine print on the Advantage Buy coupon says “May not be used in conjunction with any other coupon.”

Anyone else have problems with this? Or was he maybe misinformed (since the coupon started Feb 28 and he said they changed the policy last week!) I didn’t have time to talk with the manager today, but thought I’d check for next time!

      • Jenny

I called Publix Corporate a month or so ago about that wording and was told that they had no plans to change their policy and that you could still stack any store coupon with any manufacturer coupon. I can’t say that his meeting a week might not have changed that but the customer service rep and a district manager all told me that.

    • Amanda

Julie, I have had this problem before too. I get extra coupons from several people who subscribe to the Sunday paper and have missed a few in the past couple of weeks but never knew if they had just fallen out of the paper. It does seem to always be in Red Plum though.

    • Martha

I was wondering if anybody have problems printing the $2 off coupon for the Post Trail Mix Crunch. I have never been able to print it.

    • Michelle A.

No Martha, you’re not the only one… I can’t print it either!

    • Katie

I received a $5 off of $30 coupon insert for Publix in my Wednesday paper!

    • Paula

Angela, In my Publix you are allowed 1 store coupon (which a competitor is a “store” coupon to us) and a vendor coupon per item. The Smart Balance deal is the Smart Balance is BOGO Free and then you have a vendor coupon for free stick butter with purchase. You also have a Free milk with purchase. One vendor coupon per item. If it were a “competitor” coupon or a Publix coupon then you could use both. You can’t use 2 vendor coupons for purchasing one item.
I know some stores will let a competitor coupon slide and you can use 3 for the same item, but we can’t do that. You do realize Publix loses money every time they take a competitor coupon? They also eat some profit when you use a store coupon. So by taking both they are really taking a bite in profit. Most stores are starting to tighten up on this type of stacking (mostly because of internet coupons and easier access to coupons).
We are more than happy to stack coupons and I tell my customers to do it all the time…..I even reccomend this website.
Publix stores will vary on which stores they consider competitors too. I can only suggest that you check the individual stores policy at the Publix you shop at. Just come visit the customer service desk and we will be happy to tell you. I love my coupon Queens…..well, most of them. I love to see what they can save. We also have our share of the Couponers that give the real Queens a bad name. I understand the want to save money – but come on people, play fair and follow the rules……we are the good guys!!

    • Carrie

My Publix in Mauldin (Greenville area) would not accept Food Lion house-brand coupons for Publix house-brands. They would take a Food Lion coupon for a name-brand, but not a house-brand. Do you know if it is supposed to be a company-wide policy that they take competitor coupons for Publix house-brands, or could it be individual store’s policies?

    • Sharon

Jenni Said: I had a problem stacking the Green Advantage Buy Cover Girl coupon with a Manufacturer coupon today.

I had the same problems this last week and with the same coupon. (Lexington, SC) The manager said NO more stacking (using 2 coupons for 1 purchase is what he said) You have a choice use a publix, a manufactures or a competitors, the publix coupons clearly states 1 coupon per purchase. He let it go and said he would call corporate, I just told him it would be ALOT EASIER if they just come out with a corporate policy and let everyone know what it is!!! I have no problems following the rules, but everyone should have the same rules.

I really hope they get this worked out and let everyone know the rules

    • The flyer for my Publix in Central Fl doesnt have Arm and Hammer kitty litter on sale… Is it not advertised or what?

      • Jenny

The Kitty Liter is a month long Advantage Buy deal so you won’t find it in the weekly ad.

    • Thanks Paula for the insights! I agree with you that I can’t imagine how, if they accept three different coupons for one item, they aren’t losing money somewhere LOL. Like others, I don’t mind playing by the rules, it just gets confusing because it seems all stores (and even different branches within the same store chain) have different policies.

      Thanks again,

    • Peggy

OK, I had a great Publix experience today! I couldn’t find the Simple Ways to save flyer, so I asked the closest associate which happened to be a manager. He couldn’t locate any and asked which coupon I needed and how much is was worth. So….when I told him I needed the Crest $1 coupon he simply told the girl checking me out to manually deduct $1 to give me each tube of Crest for 99 cents! Now, does anyone know if those flyers are regional?

    • Julie

Thanks so much for all your help and for answering all our questions!

    • Brandy

Hey! I finally found the $5 off of $30 Publix coupon from Wednesday’s paper that I asked about earlier. For those who may not have seen it, it was a large square cardstock individual piece of paper tucked in with the circulars. One side of the paper has a man and the other side is half green and half white with the coupon in the lower right corner. I would never have seen it if had not been posted here. Thanks!

    • Shannon in ATL

What paper did you find the $5 off of $30 coupon in? Did anyone receive it in the Atlanta AJC? Thanks!

    • Emily

Anyone have any luck yet with the Post Trail Mix coupon? Also can’t figure out how to let my home PC “enable cookies” to print the Spray ‘n’ Wash coupon on its site. Any hints?

    • Michelle A.

Emily, I use FF and if you go under Tools –> Options –> Privacy, there are some boxes you can check to “accept cookies”. Not sure what IE does but it should be similar?? HTH :)

    • Paula

I know it seems strange to have different policies within the same company, but it really is up to the store manager to say what they accept. They can say who is a competitor and so on. Most are very liberal with what they take until someone kills it for everyone.
Example: We had a man Xerox the $6. off Pork with Kingsford + coupon. He used it 6 times before the Vendor told us they would not reimburse us for Xerox (black and White) copies. When we told him we could no longer accept copies he yelled really loud that we were being difficult – left his entire purchase on the checkout and as he was storming out the door he screamed he would never shop in Publix again. So now cashiers are told to be very careful of Xerox copies of vendor coupons at my store. That killed it for a few people that we used to let slide with one or two. That was a decision by the customer service manager made.

Yes, each store has it’s own policies. My store will even take CVS extra care bucks, but the store 5 miles away won’t. It would be easier for all of us if we were on the same page (but that may never happen).

    • Brandy

I found the 5 off of 30 coupon in the Birmingham news tucked in with the weekly sales flyers.

    • misti

Paula-out of curiosity what area are you in? I keep wondering when people talk about things they’ve found out about their Publix-is it MY publix LOL!!

    • Hi Paula,

Wow -that is awesome that your store takes CVS ECB’s!

I went to CVS today in fact. Was hoping they’d accept a Walgreen’s coupon, but no dice. I did clean up nicely on other coupons (fairly used :-) and deals for this week, so I was pleased anyway. This weekend will be our second Publix trip “with coupons” as I just began this odyssey a week ago. Can’t wait!

    • wendy

Will publix take one of the $10 off $50 catalina coupons from winn dixie?

      • Jenny

Wendy- Yes they will take any competitor coupon as long as the store is in your area (and sometimes even if it is not).

    • Tara

Hi Jenny! I was in the Publix tonight in Lexington, SC. I had three of the Tropicana 50 coupons and three cartons of the Tropicana 50s. The cashier handed me one coupon back and said that they could only take two coupons of the same product in a transaction. I have never encountered this before. Is this right?

      • Jenny

Tara – That is not their policy. They can take as many coupons as you have items for.

    • Mary

      Hi everyone…

Just a bit about printing coupons. I downloaded FF firefox and had trouble, so I unistalled it and downloaded an older version and it worked. I also went into my printer control panel and had my settings changed so that the printed items go directly to the printer NOT SPOOLED… I have Vista and have not been able to print coupons until recently.

I also had trouble with printing SS and read somewhere (Maybe someone had a better explanation) BUt the gist is when the address of the coupon appears before printing I had to change the “wg” to “wi” somehow it made them print. There are also other variations depending on the browser that you use. If noone knows I can look up the explanation and post it…

I hope maybe one of these explanations will help!!! With all he different computers and programs you kind of have to try alot of different things to get these things to work!! LOL

    • Marie

Hi, Paula. My husband and some friends will print coupons at work in black and white. Is there a visual difference between printing them and Xeroxing them?
Thanks for your explanations, too. You’ve been very helpful.

      • Jenny

You will see a watermark behind the top portion of the coupon that will still print when you just use black and what and some coupons have a “copy” water mark that will show up when xeroxed.

    • Jenny from FL

I did my shopping today and when I bought the hamburger helper from the shelf….(not their display in the front of the store)I found that most of the boxes had a peel off with the “buy 2 Better Crocker products, get a free shopping bag” I didn’t realize that they are Betty Crocker Products so it works for the H’Helper BOGO deal. So for $2.18 I got 4 H helpers and two Publix shopping bags. That’s .36 per item. I paid $48 for $133 worth of groceries. I’m in Merritt Island, FL

    • Paula

It depends on who the vendor is that puts the coupon out there. The Kingsford people wanted the color coupon that was on the internet (not Xerox). Some coupons are just plain black and white and we would not know the difference if it were copied or not. Some cashiers would not know the difference either. Our rule of thumb (and again – at my Publix store) that if the original coupon was in color than we need to get color coupons every time. That way we don’t have to worry about vendors not paying. So tell hubby and friends to use a color copier. Some coupons will say right on them that we are not to accept photocopies. If you see that, please don’t try black and white copies – that is obvious.
We have several “coupon Queens” that work in our store. Trust me, we know within hours if someone is trying to use copies – they know every coupon out there. It is then posted where all the cashiers can see it and we are told not to take them (so one bad apple ruins the everything for everyone). Then the cashiers have to watch for this coming through. We also know who is trying this and when they walk in the door all cashiers are put on alert (“hey, the lady that just walked in – watch her coupons, she is trying to pass off expireds and copies). Believe me – we are on it! That person is pretty much tagged forever…..we will always watch what they do.
Pulbix truly wants to do everything to make your shopping experience an absolute pleasure…..they really do. BUT that does not mean they will give away the store and profits to people trying to “one up the system”. Publix is there to help you save, that is why we do what almost no one else out there does – accept competitor coupons. If people keep trying to do dishonest things then they will change that policy and won’t take them at all. The managers that choose not to take them are just getting tired of losing at this game.

    • Paula

“My” Publix is in West GA.. Don’t want to say the exact location. But again, if you want to know what the policy is in “Your” Publix, Please just ask at your customer service desk. They are the nicest people in the store and they would be happy to help you and answer your questions. We had several ladies ask us yesterday and we even told them more ways to save! Yesterday, we did a major candy reset and marked down 2 entire carts full of candy to $1.00. We told every coupon Queen that walked in (because with coupons it was free).

    • Mary

I would be careful with copying coupons…IP’s are numbered. When you copy them they have the same # on them.

Here is what SMART SOURCE SAYS about their coupons! Good to know!

      • Jenny

Mary is right, in general you should only use a printer to get coupons and never make copies of any coupon. I’m working on a post all about Keeping it Legal to post on Monday to hopefully answer questions

    • Mary

I just wanted to add to the above… In case you can’t get the PDF to work or haven’t had a chance to read it through.

The part that I wanted people to see is….

We’re constantly monitoring our operations to ensure that coupons
redeemed are matched to coupons printed so that we may isolate instances of misredemption. If misredemption is identified, the originating computer is denied the ability to print future offers.

Don’t know if this is possible but something worth knowing.

    • Sharon

FYI: I emailed Publix about their coupon policy and recieved call from Manager in Lexington, SC. There has been major changes in Publix’s policy for accepting coupons. For the 9 stores in the Columbia Area, (only ones he can speak for). Publix’s coupons now state “Limit one coupon per purchase. Customer is responsible for all applicable taxes. MAY NOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER COUPON. Not to exceed purchase price.” In the Feb 28th through March 27th flyer and every coupon has that printed on it. Another words, NO more using Publix coupons with a Manufacture’s. This is just FYI, I’m all for saving money, BUT doing it legal and without frustration for me and my cashier. I’m gonna save money at Publix with or without that extra coupon, and I’m gonna have the BEST customer service. You can still use a Foodlion, Bilo or other grocery coupon in conjunction with your manufactures coupon has long as it doesn’t say “Not in conjuction with any other coupon”. Just no more Publix, unless their coupon wording changes again. Hope this helps someone avoid some frustration while checking out.

    • Paula

Thank you Jenny. There is a lot of questions on couponing and keeping it legal. Some people don’t realize that when they cheat the system (I know it is to save money) they are committing FRAUD. It is stealing!!
Passing expired coupons knowingly, sneaking in several coupons for the same item (more than allowed), Xerox copies, coupons for items not purchased (hoping the cashier won’t notice). All this is coupon fraud (which is theft).
I hope you get this up on the site soon – thanks again!

    • Tara

Thank you! I will go back with more and go to the same person and tell him what I know. Thank you!

    • Kabba

Anyone know how to print the PENNY ITEM coupon if it’s not in the paper?

    • Angela

Thanks so much for your tips. I’m new to couponing. My husband and I tried it out today for the first time — spent $60.04 / save 51.91 !
We were thrilled, although we didn’t quite save as much as you usually do. We’re going to need to practice some more :)

One tip. I’m a big fan of Luna snack bars. In the Mambo Sprouts booklet, you’ll find a coupon for 50 cents off one. The bars are only 99 cents. SO with the double coupon, they’re free!

    • Tausha

Couldn’t read through all the comments to see if anyone picked up on this, but at my Publix down here in Tarpon Springs, FL, there were $1 almonds accents (which are bogo) wyb 2 bags of ANY lettuce. Fresh Express is 2/$5, plus $1 coup at front of store, plus these $1 coups. SO:
      2 Lettuce =$5
      2 Almonds (bogo) =$3.19
2 store coups for $1 ea
2 coups for lettuce at front of store $1 ea
$4 for 2 bags of lettuce and 2 bags almonds! (oh and cherry tomatoes are bogo…so have a salad for dinner:o)

    • liz

You don’t need to print the coupon to get the penny item.

The penny item this week in Nashville is Publix Paper Towels.

They were COMPLETELY out of the TGIF Skillets so I will try another store and if they do not have it will get a rain check. I have never rainchecked before. What if they come after my coupon expires… will they still honor my coupon???? My coupons were good for during the sale.

    • I had a wonderful Publix experience last night and I wanted to share. Publix has Ocean Spray cranberry juice bogo and they have a coupon in the all well and good booklet. They ran out of them in the front display. I was behind the manager in the customer service line to ask if they had any left. The manager had just gotten off work. Well he overheard me ask and he went out of his way to look for it for me. He came back a few minutes later to find me and handed me two. I was so grateful. That is so amazing to me that the manager’s work so hard already, and here he is off of work, and still caring about his customers! I just had to share it! It’s little things like that, that make Publix the only grocery store I shop at!

    • Tausha, also you can use a Food Lion coupon, $2 off any $5 produce purchase!

    • Hillary

I went to Publix this weekend and they were giving a young mom trouble about her coupons. They told her she couldn’t use them because she would get the items for free, and they can’t do that. The manager came over and told her the same thing. They said they would be losing money. Last week I used coupons to get baby food for free with .21 cents overage with no problem. Are they changing their policies?

    • Amy B.

Had two great trips to Publix this week. First one I spent $8.32 and saved $42.31, second trip spent $62.60 and saved $84.97. Man that’s fun! Next week is looking pretty great too!!

    • If anyone here lives in Brevard County, there will be a meeting the last Thursday of every month at the Port Saint John library starting at 7:30/7:45. All are welcome! Our first meeting is this Thursday! All we ask you to bring is a 2″ binder, baseball protector sheets, page separators, and a non perishable food item/personal hygiene item to be donated to a local homeless shelter. See you there!

    • Got an 18 lb. bag of charcoal, Purex detergent, Purex softener, and a huge piece of steak for $12.73 yesterday at Publix :) So happy!!
And Publix bagels were BOGO free at my store, so I stocked up and used the Food Lion $2 off any $5 deli/bakery item.

    • Lindsay

I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for this website!
it has changed the way I shop.
My friend showed me this whole world of coupons & discounts-
and My family has been greatly blessed for it.
Just yesterday- I hit deals with coupons in hand at CVS,Publix & BiLo-
After a long day of deals- I spent a total of 21 bucks with tax-
and saved a total of over $65 bucks!-
      So thank you! :)

    • Hillary-

I occasionally have a problem using q’s that make stuff free when I have more q’s than items! Even though technically you can do that, because you can use a store q and a manuf q on one product, if you have more q’s the register tells the cashier there is a problem and unless they know to ask for a manager, they usually will just say, sorry you can’t use this coupon! Then when they inspect it they realize you are getting the item for free and maybe +overage (even if it’s just a penny!) so they will say that is why it won’t work. Some cashiers/managers know that they just have to override the register because you CAN use a 2 q’s on one product.

However, whenever I buy an equal amount of items/q’s it ALWAYS goes through, no matter how many things I get free/overage! I always throw in a few bananas (and if I need more than one thing to cover a q I ring them up separate at Uscan!) or something else little and cheap!

I know that won’t help the mom you saw, but it might help someone else!

    • Whoops, I just realized there was a huge discussion about this above (I scrolled to the bottom since I’d read the top ones the other day to check if anyone found any new deals!)

So, someone please correct me if I am wrong! I am hoping that policy isn’t changing!

    • Jennifer

My Publix is getting stricter about which competitor coupons they will take and not take. Now they won’t take Food Lion coupons when they did just last week. My Kroger no longer takes competitor coupons at all. What is happening???

    • paige

Anyone know how much purex is at thier publix.

    • Paige-
Purex at my Publix is $7.79 unless on sale. Use it with the free coupon for fabric softener in the March into savings booklet, and you will save $3.49 (on the softener). Also, you can use the $.35 and $.55 off coupons for even bigger savings! I stocked up on these!

    • Amy

Jenny – do you know where to find the savings booklets mentioned here?

    • Kerri

YEAH!!! Just got home from Publix… spent 34 CENTS!!! saved 74.12!! I was thrilled. I think the cashier was scared he did something wrong so he called the manager over, they went over all my coupons and the products. The manager said everything was fine!!

    • Quen

      Hi All!

New here and LOVING this site. I have a question about the Bumble Bee Premium Tuna 4-pack coupons. I only found Bumble Bee coupons for pouches or medley bowls in SS 2/22 not for cans (and I actually have 2 this time!! Arg!). Will the $.55 coupon for “Premium Tuna Pouch” work? Has anyone tried it? Is this coupon just different in different regions? I’m in Atlanta.

      TIA! :)

    • Vered

What is considered a good price for paper towels(per roll)?
What is considered a good price for bath tissue(per roll)?

    • Had a great day at Publix! Sorry I waited till the last day to shop…I bought:

      2 Ocean Spray Cranberry juice B1G1 -2 / $1 coupons
      2 Tropicana 50 OJ B1G1-$1.50 coupon
      Fresh Express Salad in a bag 2/$5 – 2/ $1 coupons
2 Smart Balance Spreads B1G1 -2 / $1 off coupons and B1 Smart Balance Spread and get 1 1/2 gallon of Smart Balance milk for free

      Spent $8.47 + tax….Not bad…

    • Kerri
Congrats!! Thats great! If you dont mind my asking, what were the products you bought and how did you save so much? I need to be more like that… I am still not as good as you!! What did you do??

    • sarah

Does anyone know if the snuggle creme was b1g1 this week?

    • sarah

Sorry I did not mean b1g1 I meant on sale for $2.99
