It’s another good week at Publix, these deals start 7/29 or 7/30 depending on your area.  If you haven’t gotten your Kraft rebate items there are some good deals to help.  I have added in Target printables that are available, please remember that most stores do not take these anymore so ask your store what they are accepting before shopping.

Don’t forget about the advantage buy deals.  Look for a new Green Advantage buy flyer starting Saturday.

1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon too)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are.50¢ or less

** #1 and #5 do not apply in FL and coastal GA**

Does Publix double the 50 cent Target coupons or just the manufacturers?

    • great news!!!

the publix on east brainerd in chattanooga has the new raise your hand for savings booklet. its one a person at customer service. hope this helps the people who missed out on the family has its own rewards.

      happy couponing

    • Is there any other link to those new “Publix-Only” Kraft printables, by the way?

    • Sorry, I ask because it says “Print-Limit-Reached”.

    • Beth

Am I missing something on the FLIPs…I only see Huggies Pull ups, not diapers ($1.50 off)

    • Kaela

Publix only doubles manu coupons, not competitor. But most Publix do not take Target coupons anyways.

    • Amy

Do you need to buy 3 6 packs of Propel or do they adjust price of ea. 6pack?

    • Amy

Food lion has the DiGiorno pizza coupon flip. $1 off. and Coke is on the yellow advantage buy.

    • Melissa

Thanks Kaela. Luckily ours is one of the few that do accept Target coupons….every little bit helps.

    • Christy

I went to the Hixson< TN Publix last night and they wouldn’t take my Food Lion Produce coupon. The lady at the check-out checked with her manager and said they couldn’t even thought they have several times in the last week. Needless to say, I didn’t get my produce…also, I had a rain check for band-aids at $2.19 and the same lady wouldn’t give me the overage. She refused to take one of my manufacturer coupons for 50 cents because it would take me over the price of the products I was using to purchase the coupons. I was buying other products to apply the overage to, but she said she couldn’t do it. I hate inconsistency!!! <

    • Christy

What zip code do you use to get the 40 cents off one Yoplait? Thanks! <

    • Alicia

Heads up in Summerville. Last night was informed that the Publix on Central is no longer excepting Target coupons. They had just excepted them on Monday, but I was told the policy changed about a week and a half ago.

Called Old Trolley and Dorchester, and both stores acted like they were astonished Central had stopped taking them. Guess they are going to lose some of their business!

    • Carolin

Christy I understand your frustration. I’m sorta new to this couponing game. Publix is usually very friendly. I drive 10 minutes out of my way to shop at a particular Publix. Yesterday I had the worst experience. I get to the cash register and start putting my groceries on the belt. She immediately says YOU GOT ANY COUPONS. I hand her my coupons and tell her that I have them in order for her. Competitors on top then publix then regular manuf. She didn’t say thank you just gave me this look. The very first coupon was a Target printables for a $1 off of a lb of apples. She picked up my apples and said that these don’t weigh a pound (I weighed them they were close to 2lbs.) I told her that’s okay. I’ll still get the apples. She would ring up an item and look for my coupon and then scan my coupon. I bought 3 of the J&J redcross items. I used the $5 off publix coupon and I only had 2 $1 coupons left. She tells me that I can’t use all these coupons. I ask her way and she says let me get the manager. The manager comes over and tells her that I can use the $5 off and 1 of the $1 coupons because if I use the other one I’ll have overage. I kindly take back my coupon(I still got overage but that’s not the point). I got the Starkist sensations. I had 2 $3 off coupons. With the manager standing right there she tells me that I can’t take these because the item would be free + a penny. The manager tells her to ring one of the coupons for $2.99 and the other for $3. Last item is the Chef Boyardee, I don’t like it but it’s free and I can always donate it. PAY IT FORWARD. I have the $1 off coupon. She is looking to see how much the Chef Boyardee was. I told her that it was 85 cents. She takes off 85 cents. She tears off the receipt and studies it, folds it in half and hands it to me. No thank you, have a great day, you saved $56.23. The other cashiers were an older lady and the express check out. The overage part didn’t really bother me. It’s how rude she was.

    • Nicole

Wow Carolin! I would call and complain. That’s ridiculous. Sounds like the lady I had in Mt. Pleasant!

    • Christy

Just talked with the manager at Publix and she said they won’t take Food Lion coupons for Food Lion brand items (I guess the produce was Food Lion brand???? even thought their bananas AND Publix bananas are both Dole????). Well, at least we know. Not worried about the overage on the band aids…would have been nice, but at least that is somewhat understandable! <

    • Amy

What is the deal about something with the numbers on the bar code? Something about being able to use a coupon for the same brand, different product if the bar code has a certain number? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!!

      **Jenny Here**
Amy- We are not able to discuss that here. It is using coupons for things they are not intended for. There are too many big people who read comments around here that will send me mean lawyerish emails and letters if we go there.

    • lynn

think we have all ahd that lady 1. when they demand my coupons up front i nicly eplain that i will pay for my groceries alll at once when i have the total if they get pushy or demanding about it i nicly explain to them they would not ask for my cash up front before they rang up my groceries nd i firmly tell them i will paay for all of my groceries when they have been ranged up ……for a store that has NO coupon policy they surre seem to change the policy a lot

    • Carolin,
It sucks when some cashiers give us a hard time, but in talking to managers and customer service A LOT over the last few months, I feel like I understand more why that is. Those cashiers have seen so much coupon fraud, and been put on the lookout for so many different illegal practices (Cutting off expiration dates, buying the wrong product, changing the coupon value, etc..) that they have become a bit paranoid about us. I say the best defense is for honest couponers to keep up the good work, and have a positive attitude so that we can clear our name! Sounds like you did just that :)

    • I had a similar experience with a casheir in my area. She wanted me to match up every single item with it’s coupon. It took FOREVER and every coupon was like an IRS audit. I’ll never go to that cashier again! Now I actually keep my coupons in my pocket and pretend to fiddle with the magazines when they start to ring me up. Once everything is rung up I pull out the coupons. :-) It’s so silly that we have to do these things but I’d do anything to avoid that experience.

    • tina

Publix soda’s .50 each and there is a food lion flip for $1/3 making this deal….50cents for 3 soda’s. Right??

    • lynn

Just a reminder we are coming up on a new month print the coupons now that you will need in case they !. are reloaded or 2. deleted you never know what the new moth will bring ….

    • Clay
    • JEB

There is a Dole Q for fruit bowls in the Better Homes and Gardens magazine for June. $1 off of 2 items.

    • Jenn

I feel so sad when I hear about people’s rotten couponing experiences. I live in a college town, and I suppose there aren’t a lot of us around here. The manager at my Publix always comes over to bag my groceries to see how much I’ve saved (and was astonished at the free fish this week) and the manager at my Kroger high fived me on the way out the door the week before when I saved 89%. Once, my toddler tore my 2/5 produce coupon while I was shopping at Publix, and the manager, while bagging my groceries, told the cashier to give me the 5% senior discount on my order. I wish everyone had cashiers like mine.

    • Jenny

I just called the Publix on Central this morning and there were a few days where the Target coupons went back and forth but the ARE accepting them now. I shopped there last night using them. What is in question now is whether they will take the $5 off Rite Aid and Walgreens. I think they are going to stop taking those. The lady I spoke with was very apologetic about all the confusion but they are just trying to get things worked out for themselves. I try not to be frustrated about coupon policies because they have been so kind to allow overages on food and I got paid $5 to shop there yesterday.

    • Elizabeth

I have been having a possitive experience since I have found two VERY coupon friendly Publix locations.

I am so upset that the Family Is It’s Own Reward coupons expire today. I have several of the Bertolli coupons, but our sale won’t start until tomorrow. The last time is was B1G1 I didn’t have the coupons because they didn’t put the booklets out until after that here.

    • New At This

I’m sorry you guys had bad experiences this time around…but THANK YOU on behalf of the rest of us for keeping your cool and not living down to thier expectations.

I’ve had the good and the bad as well, and I’m almost to the point of asking my “favorites” what their work schedule is so I can plan my shopping around them! I will have to say the not-so-pleasant ones make me put a little more effort into being friendly at my own job. When I’ve had a particularly rotten one, though, I just think about how much money I’m saving compared to my life B.C…that manages to cheer me up! :)

    • Maehing O

Went to Publix this am, and there were $1 off on 1 coupons on the Oatmeal! Sweet………… I love Publix!

Happy Shopping to you all! Get your Bertoli pasta sauce if you got the Family Rewards Book!

    • lynn

elizabeth you must be in florisa also .. there are some advantages to being here like we get to see the sale match up 34 hrs before our sale starts give us more time to prep but with the coupon expiring thats our down side still we do get awsome deals here in florida have you found any of the new coupon books yet?

    • Maggie

THANK YOU THANK YOU Jenny for all your hard work each week! I have had extremely positive experiences at both Publix in my town and I am loving the money we are saving!!

    • Elizabeth

Lynn-No, I haven’t seen the new ones, either, and I was there a couple of times since I heard about the new booklets. Those Bertolli coupons would have been such a hot deal if I could have used them :( The worst part is that I don’t even have time to mail them to someone that can use them. Oh, well. There are still some good deals this week, so I am just thankful for that.

    • Dianne

I am sad about the Bertolli coupon as well, but at Walmart, the 24oz. jar will be $1.09 with the coupon today, so if you need the sauce, that’s not a bad difference of cost!

    • Elizabeth

BTW…if anyone has any of the ads “Dairy…Healthy for the Whole Herd” that were out in June it has a .75 coupon for country crock that expires 8/15. I wish I had grabbed a couple more. I only have 1, but that will make for a pretty good deal.

    • Elizabeth

Thanks! That is a pretty good deal. I feel a little less bummed now, expecially since Publix raised the price for the B1G1 sale(aren’t they normally like $2.69?), so it wouldn’t have been as good of a deal I thought it was at Publix anyway (I just now noticed that). I’m going to pick them up at Walmart tonight. It seems like they did the same thing (raising the price) w/ the Mueller’s pasta on the last B1G1, but I see it is back down to $1.30 for this sale.

I used a couple of Hellman’s coupons at Walmart a while back from the same booklet, though, and for some reason they did not come up in the system. The cashier had to call a manager, and I was able to use the coupons. They had to just take the coupon amount off manually. I just wanted to give you a heads up if you have not tried to use them yet that you might have the same problem.

    • Sharma

Guess I’m lucky…my Publix takes Target coupons and the other day they took my $5 off $30 that CVS sent to my email. Whooooo-hoooo!

    • Shanele

Christy, I am in the Hixson area too – do you shop at the Publix on Hixson Pike? I was there 2 weeks ago and was asked if I had any coupons. Apparently, they have been having Coupon Clipping Moms like us, totally take advantage of these savings. The cashier had the nerve to tell me “Those women are just crazy!!” I am new to this, and I have not done my first shopping trip with this. I am exciting to save the money but dreading the trip to the cashier. Apparently, shopping at Publix isn’t always a pleasure :/

    • Clay

I found a .75/2 Dole Fruit Bowls or Parfaits coupon in the 4/26 SS. It expires on 7/31.

    • Karen

Just wondering if the $1 off three Food Lion Soda 2-liters will work for the Publix soda that are $.50 each.

Thank you Jenny so much for what you do.

    • jennyM

What was the tip the other day that someone posted about bricks coupons? The Cheerios coupon won’t print for me because I have FireFox. I probably have to change some numbers but I don’t remember what.

      **Jenny Here**

The honey nut cherrios link I have already changed for Fire Fox just click on the FF link. The other cheerios link is a general coupons.com link and it should work no matter the browser that you are using. In the future though look for “vi&0” or “wi&0” in the link and change the “i” to a “g”

    • Lori

There’s a $1.50 store q for Energizer in the Yellow Adv Buy flyer, also a $2.00 off manf Q in the Smart Summertime Savings booklets. Thanks for all ur help!

    • Amy

There a 50 cents off energizer coupon for target (on full cup) that you can combine with the energizer coupon if you want to buy a smaller pack of batteries.

    • Lori

If you buy 3 like the FL q says it should work fine, I was thinkin of doingthe same deal :)

    • Kim

I ALWAYS put the coupons on the items on the conveyor belt. The cashiers are doing extra work to “help” me and I want to help them as well! Plus I want to make sure they know that I DO have the items that I have coupons for. I have been thanked over and over for doing this, and I never have any problems with the cashiers or the coupons. They are really very friendly, and especially when you go out of your way to help them out too! I had one cashier tell me that they have no way of knowing for sure if the item #’s are correct with the # of coupons without going back and looking, so to put them on each item really helps them out alot and keeps them out of trouble. HTH, and not saying everyone should do this, but in my experience they really appreciate it!

    • Stephanie

what page is the hunts ketchup coupon in the August All you mag?

    • All of my family is its own reward coupons expire today and the new sale doesnt start for me until tomorrow… Does anyones expire 7/31?? Are there two different books??

Also, I bought a can of chef boyardee for $.85 and I had $1.00 off coupon.
The cashier was very rude and said she cannot take it because it will give overage.
I said then just make it for the $.85. She said “I cant do that.” I said “please get a manager” then the manager came and said they can make it free but not overage.

I am fine with that, however, is this a new thing??
      They cannot give overage anymore??

    • Veda

You can save 2 dollars on Milk, when you purchase 2 packages of Keebler and/or sunshine Right Bites snacks (BOGO starting tomorrow for Atlanta area) using your Fuel for School Booklet.

    • Christy

I do shop at the Hixson Pike location and this was the first time I ever had any trouble at check out. I always take any questionable coupons to the service desk and “clear” them before I go to the check-out. I hate to cause problems and I hate to hold people up in the line.

      Coupon Etiquette:

      1. I typically will watch while I am waiting to be checked out and will let people that get in line behind me go ahead of me even if they have a large order.
      2. I will watch the buggies of those stuck in line behind me and try to give them some of my extra coupons for things they have in their buggies.
      3. I usually put my coupons with the items the go with so the cashiers can see what they are being used for. This puts less pressure on them because they don’t have to look for fraud. They can see that everything is legitimate.
      4. I never try and push the envelope with a coupon that may be questionable. It’s not worth a few extra dollars or cents. If we do that, then we may lose the privelege of using coupons…we need to remember that it is a privelege.
      5. I always smile and greet any who help in the check out process…even when I was frustrated last night, I told them that I didn’t understand the sudden change in policy, but that I understood that they were following the rules that were given them and I was fine with it.

Last night, even with my bad experience at Publix – the first bad experience I have had there – My total bill was $63.69 and I paid $10.20. I can’t complain about that!!!

    • Tiffany

No overage – well, okay – but if they are a manf. Q, they are getting the whole amount of the coupon + .08. How is that fair to the manf. that are putting out coupons on their products? Anywho…

Jenny – thanks for all your hard work. It has really made a big difference for my family budget in a short amount of time. I have only been doing this a few weeks and I have already saved my family over $300 on groceries and school supplies. That is $300 that I will be putting to good use on other things. YAY!!

    • Tarrah R.

My Publix informed me yesterday that they will not take any competitor coupons unless the store is within a 5 mile radius (or in town, I guess). The reason: People calling complaining to corporate about inconsistencies from store to store! That is very upsetting news to me. I don’t understand why people would call corporate and make a big scene because one Publix took their coupons and one didn’t….just shop the one that DID take them! UGH! I knew something like this would happen sooner or later. Just wish it could be later! I just learned that I could use some Competitor coups two weeks ago- literally! It’s a corporate-wide policy now, so, enjoy it if you still get yours taken, because the cashiers will be taking the coupon class soon. Still doing good without competitor coups, so I guess I will live! :-) God Bless!

    • Alissabeth

I thought this posted, but I don’t see it. I spendt 50 something yesterday at Publix, with no Kraft purchases. If I go today and get some Kraft products will that work? They don’t have to be the same receipt, right?

    • Alissabeth

That’s supposed to be spent! :-)

    • Cori

Had an awesome visit to Publix today, they had the Raise your Hand for Savings booklets and there were actually some left. I spent $52.00, saved $122.58!! My coupons were 36.60, store sales 85.98, Plus I qualify for the $10 rebate for kelloggs. Yay!!

    • Alissabeth
I think as long as you spend a certain amount within the time frame you are ok.
I did that too, no Kraft products and had $40 to go towards the rest of the $150.
I am glad that some items are bogo that will make it easier to hit the rebate!

    • Kristie

Get $2/1 coupon off Post Pecan Bunches.. May be included in Post BOGO..

    • Rebecca

Melissa, Publix will only double manufacturer’s coupons

    • Molly

I don’t see the Ketchup coupon in the All You either. Has anyone found it?

    • Betsy

I have a $3 off manufacturer coupon for Huggies Pure and Natural diapers plus the $2 off Publix coupon and $1.50 Food Lion Coupon. Can I use all of them at the same time?

    • Elizabeth

Tarrah-I would personally never call corporate for something like that. I would only do it if a store violated a corporate Publix policy. But right now I feel like I’m ‘getting away w/ something’ at the very lenient Publix locations, even though I know I am practicing according to their rules.

    • lynn

the raise your hand for savings is out in npr still have not seen the fuel for school

    • Allison

my fav publix wouldnt let me have any overages last week and scrutinized EVERY coupon – the cashier was downright nasty about it. i will never shop again on a friday eve or go to her line if i see her. i love when the young boys are cashiering – they are so sweet!

    • Allison
Thats so funny! Me too! And some of them are cuties lol

    • Betsy, my Publix would let me use all three but I would check at customer service first or call ahead to make sure.

My store takes competitor’s (no drugstores though) but do not double the competitor’s coupons. Thanks for the heads up about Target – I’m going to call and check before I print.

And I think if I had almost two pounds of apples and the cashier rejected the coupon then the receipt would have the weight, and I would go to the customer service desk and ask for a refund. I understand why the cashiers are getting paranoid but if it is a store policy then they need to respect it, just like you. And just because some couponers are crooked does not mean they should treat you like a criminal.

Hey legal lurkers – isn’t that called discrimination, if customers with coupons who are following store policies are treated with hostility and rudeness by managers and cashiers? Not professional to discriminate against couponers and create a hostile shopping environment when store policy allows coupons!

    • Does anyone have an extra rebate form for the fuel for school?? I accidently threw mine away and now it wont let me print…

    • Tarrah R.

Elizabeth, I know what feeling you are talking about, but don’t feel that way. Your Publix is there to serve you, and if that is the way they will keep their customers, good for them(and double good for you! *LOL*) I am just upset about this new policy and wanted the people who HAVE called and complained to corporate to know that sometimes things may work against their (and everyone else’s) favor.

    • Nevermind I was able to print!!

    • Heather

If you go to Publix Website and e-mail them about the fuel for school, they will send you the entire booklet. I received four today in the mail, and was very happy. It did take a little over a week to receive.

Thank you so much for your help, I was laid off last year, am working now, but the money not the same, and my husband is getting laid off this Saturday. You have helped us in ways you might not even realize. I also still find ways to pay it forward, donating half of my school supplies for example. Thank you!

Coupon frauders, stop it now! What goes around comes around, and for those of us, who really need or appreciate this are the ones who are going to have to pay for your ignorance and shelfisness.

    • lynn

has anyone in npr florida or tampa bay area found the fuel for school books yet?

    • Kristie

I found a .55/1 pop tarts coupon from the 6/7 RP expires 8/2

    • Tracie

Jell-O Snack: There is a Publix store coupon for $1 off a 12 pack in the Smart Summertime Savings Book (Exp 7/31). If you buy 2 6 packs, they should let you use it.

    • Lauren

No you probably cannot use all three coupons on the diapers. You can use one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon. The FL coupon is considered a store coupon so you have to choose between the Publix or FL coupon.

    • Tracie

      Cori #53-

Where did you find the Raise Your Hands for Savings Book?

    • Joy

Tracie, I don’t think that coupon would work that way.

    • Dianne

I just found a money maker at Publix. Jenny has probably already put this somewhere, but it might be good to get it out there again as time is running out.
There is a $1 off Publix coupon in the Smart Summertime savings booklet for any Reach floss. There is also a $1 off MC we have from I don’t know when for $1 any Reach toothbrush or floss. There are two Reach flosses that are $1.49, and my Publix took both, so I had .51 overage!!!
That is the everyday price on the floss. The rush is that the Publix coupon expires on 7/31.

    • cortney

The manufacturer coupon for the poptarts is only for Blueberry muffin and my publix wouldn’t let me use it for another flavor…even though they are the same price. no biggie…they are still cheap with the target coupon! :)

    • Erika

The Hunts coupon in the All You magazine is a pull out for Congra foods. It is around page 114.

    • JJandC

      Target Coupon/Publix Etiquette Question:
The Publix I shop does takes target coupons (Yeah!) and I am wondering is there a limit of one per day (per item) like the Food Lion coupons? I am asking because the HotCoupon World coupon generator will give you 2, 4, 6…. of the same coupon but I’d feel a little hinky handing over 6 taget coupons for 6 items especially if I also have a bunch of manufacturer’s coupons….. It does say “Limit 1 offer per transaction” but I’m still a little fuzzy on what is ok to do. Is 2 of the same items ok?. Thanks.

      Cori #53-

Where did you find the Raise Your Hands for Savings Book?

There was a cardboard display as I walked in the store. It had several of the products that there are coupons for on the display also. Not sure where you shop, but this is on Wade Hampton in Taylors, SC.

    • Alicia

The ketchup coupon is in the very center of the All You in a pull out coupon section. Same place as the peanut butter and free crayons q.

    • Alicia
Where is this pull out section??
I subscribe and I did not see a pull out section? Am I missing something??

    • Ang

Just received a, “$5 off your purchase of $30 or more” coupon in the mail today in a Publix Back to School Sale ad!

    • Aymie – the subscriptions to All You don’t usually get the extra booklet section in the middle…. only the ones purchased in the store.

    • Meredith

I know that the $10 kraft rebate says 4 different products. I bought a total of 9 products but only 3 different ones
      2 vanilla jello pudding
      2 chocolate jello pudding
      Kraft BBQ
      4 kraft mac and cheese

Do you think this will work? Total OOP was $67.

Also -With in this same transaction I bought 10 boxes of poptarts and would qualify for the fuel for school but Both the kraft and fuel for school ask for ORIGINAL receipt. With this scenario do you think I should just send in the fuel for school and do the kraft one later??? I know I for sure could get fuel for school but would like to get both-

    • Sunny

Does anyone know what Publix coupon policy is? I was at a store tonight that did not double any of my coupons. They were all under .50 cents. I didn’t know if it depended on the store or if she should have doubled them. Very Frustrating!!!

    • V

I have a Publix coupon question…Can I use a Baby Club coupon with a manufacturer coupon? Should I just ask at the register or hand them over and see what happens? I don’t want to ask them to do anything against policy, but want to use the coupons I have if I can.
Thanks for all the great advice and help!

    • Jaime

Does anyone else have a better deal on coca-cola products this week?

    • Meredith

I believe CVS has cokes 4 for 13 with 3 ECB which equals 4 for 10

    • Emily

Thanks once again Jenny for doing this again. I appreciate it more than you know. I noticed that my Publix never has the despenser coupons for things that are list here. I don’t know why that is I am in Northern, AL. Any ideas?

    • Paul

Quick heads-up for shoppers @ the Atlanta Camp Creek Marketplace store. They no longer accept the $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon.

Thanks to Lori (#41) — I needed batteries and the extra .50 helps!

Jenny, I’ve wanted to ask these questions for some time and I’m sure you’ve answered them a million times, but I haven’t seen them so far: One, how many newspapers do you actually buy per week and, two, how long do you keep the coupon sections before discarding? I’ve developed a filing system, but I don’t know how long to hold onto them. I started back in March and still have from there forward, although I think a good many are expired. Thanks.

    • Mitch

Emily, you need to ask Customer Service for any new coupon leaflets or brochures. A good friend of mine recently spoke with the manager of the Pine Mountain store in Powder Springs, GA and was told that they have been on the lookout for ‘coupon bandits.’ Apparantly whenever a new coupon book gets released somebody is taking the entire stash of them. They are now keeping most of the new coupon books behind the registers – one per person.

    • Jenny

I just wanted to point out that this website has helped us save over $80 on groceries while we are in FL on vacation! Also, I have to say that the people at the PCB Publix are even better than the ones back home in AL! Thanks again Jenny for all your hard work!

    • Thankfully, my Publix has some really nice people. They accept any local competitors coupon “with a smile on our face & a song in our heart” the manager said.

I am making a rather impromptu trip out of town this weekend. I had planned to buy all the newspapers that have the coupons, but won’t be here (I don’t have subscriptions & don’t know if I want them yet). So, I have 2 questions I hope someone can answer for me:

      1) If I get newspaper coupons in AL, will they be good in FL?
      2) Do they have Publix in Birmingham?

    • First time user here. Do you know if Publix takes the family Dollar coupons that come out in the Wednesday adds? Scott bath tissue 4 roll .85 off

    • M Rose

Does anybody know if Publix in Spartanburg SC is doing clearance items tomorrow??

    • M Rose

I am sorry if this has been answered before….if so i missed it….If I want to get the Kraft card 3 times….do I need to buy 12 different items ???? So, not 3 Jello’s, 3 bacon, 3 Shells, 3 Planters???

    • Damien Barber

In response to what someone said about cashiers wanting to have the coupons upfront and carefully checking everything as it goes, I would say that as a former Publix cashier, I actually preferred having the coupons upfront so I could check them as I went (even better was if someone would put the coupons with the products)… that way I know that they got the product (and correct quantity and all). Let’s just say I understand some of this stuff. However, it’s a crying shame what happened to the customer who was not allowed to use her coupons because of overage and whatnot… that’s just ridiculous. That kind of attitude would not have flied at the store I worked at… we were very customer friendly and loved to see our customers save money.

    • Willowbeth

      Anne Marie
I’m from Florida also but ny sister lives in Birmingham. Yes they have Publix and they DOUBLE your coupons up to a certain amount! The Birmingham news usually has the same coupons as I get here from St Pete Times but the paper costs alot more than here.
Be on the watch on Tuesday or Wednesday as they often get $5/50 or $5/30 on a small one page flier those days. I bring them home and use them here.

    • Melinda

I’m going to put my 2 cents in about the Publix cashiers wanting the coupons up front. I totally get that. BUT…if you have coupons that they accept from Rite Aid (that they accept) that are $5 off $25 purchase then you don’t want your other coupons scanned until your total is final. Our Publix takes as many $5 off $25 coupons as your order total…so if you spend $100…you can take $20 off the top. I’m not sure how to help the cashiers out with this?! I want my $5 coupons to come off the top first, so I hand my mfr/store coupons after those. Don’t we have a great Publix?!

    • karen

Can someone tell me all of the coupon booklets that are out at Publix right now? I need to get them straight so I can ask the customer service at Publix. I never see any of the booklets. I guess they keep them behind the counters. Can someone tell me the names of the coupon booklets so I know which ones to ask for?

      thanks :o)

    • JennyM

Our Publix used to do that as well but not anymore. What Publix do you shop? Hopefully they won’t change their policy too.

      Happy Shopping!

    • M Rose
Kraft will consider different flavors different products.
So lets say you want 2 deals of the Kraft BBQ sauce, if you get 4 different flavors, you have 4 items towards your 12.
Also, if you buy 4 different kinds of the Kraft and Velveeta mac and cheese you will have another 4.
Thats what I am doing, and hopefully those who emailed Kraft and got responses are right!

    • Hope this helps some of your followers:

I went into 2 Publix stores about 2 weeks ago in the Greenville area and both told me that they were no longer taking Food Lion Coupons. When I asked “why”, the cashier said that she wasn’t really sure, but thought perhaps they weren’t considered a competitor. So I did call Corporate to ask if that was the reason because there is a Food Lion probably about 5 miles from one of those stores and less than 10 miles from the other.

The District Manager actually called me back on this. He stated that they are to continue to take the Food Lion Coupons until Sunday 8/1 and that’s when a final decision will be made in each store. He was very nice by the way..and so I went on to tell him that Publix would still be my favorite grocery store even if they did stop taking them, but wished they wouldn’t.

Sooooo I went back into one of the stores Tuesday and the same cashier said that after Sunday they probably wouldn’t take them anymore…her thoughts were – not so much of them not being a competitor, but because no other stores in the area accept the Food Lion Coupons except them…not even Bloom which is owned by the same parent company.

I would just confirm with your local Publix after Sunday on whether they have continued taking them or not. Doesn’t sound good for the Greenville area though.

    • Amy B.

There is a supplement to the ad this week containing lots of store brand stuff. Two highlights are
BOGO PB Sour Cream 16 oz cup $1.39 and
BOGO Publix Sour Cream Dip: French Onion or Ranch Style 16 oz tub $1.59

    • I didnt see Hawaiian punch on here…
Can anyone tell me what a good price w/o coupon is??

    • Charlotte C.

Does anyone know if I can use the Rite Aid Coupon in Summerville SC area Publix?

      Thanks !

    • Alicia W.

I just used one today at the location on Trolley Rd. Supposedly the one on Central has a new policy that they WILL NOT accept them.

    • Charlotte C.

Thanks Alicia – This will be my first time using that coupon!

    • Allison

my publix wouldnt scan the riteaid coupon until she scanned ALL my other coupons. Luckily – my OOP was right at $25 so she took it – but said had it been under – she would have denied it.
HUMMMPH! i dont like that at all! :(

    • Sandy

Which Publix stores in Greenville did you talk with? I shop at the Publix on Pelham and it is my favorite store! With the exception of one cashier, every shopping experience has been great. Yesterday the customer service manager rang up my groceries because the lines got backed up. She was very polite, I was able to use Target and Food Lion Coupons. However, she would not take the Food Lion soda coupon or the Food Lion hotdog bun coupon. She said those were for a specific brand and they didnt carry F.L. soda or buns. I was fine with that. I didnt purchase the drinks but I bought the buns regardless.
I really hope they continue to take competitor coupons.

      BTW Jenny, You Rock!

    • Scott K

Ok, I have looked through my 7/12 SS, and can’t find the Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks. I buy the Chattanooga paper on Sundays. Are their different SS inserts in different papers?

    • Heather

I have a family is it’s own rewards sent to me from publix. mine expires tomorrow.

    • Jennifer

I have two $5.00/$30 Coupons one for Publix and One for Kroger can I use both in one transaction?

    • Karen

      Hi Jenny,

Thanks so much for the hard work with this site. i started going to it last month and have seen a difference in my spending. I’m still learning, but I think I’ve caught on quickly.

My question is this week the Poptarts are on sale and I have both the .75 Target coupon and I printed the manufacturer’s coupon. The Manufacturer’s coupon says it’s good for the Blueberry Muffin poptarts. Can this be used on other flavors? Thanks.

    • Just got back from Publix.
      Spent $42, saved $90.
      Thanks so much Jenny!
This has become almost like a game to me!
Trying to see how little I can spend for how many groceries I buy!!
Also got some free dental floss and cheap Propel water!!
Just did my Kraft rebate as well…next trip is the Kelloggs rebate :)

    • Laura

      Anne-Marie #92

The best place in the Birmingham area to buy your Sunday paper is at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 plus tax, that is all you will pay. Get there early to buy as many as you want.

    • Val

I have recently started stacking coupons at Publix and have had alot of success. I shop at the Athens, AL location. We don’t have a Food Lion, Harvey’s, or Rite Aid, but so far they have taken all of them. They also honor Target coupons. The only problem I have had is one cashier wanted to examine all my coupons and then told me that she could not double some of my coupons even when the register automatically did it. She said they have become more strict and that if it says “do not double” that they will no longer double it even if the register does. I went in today and spoke with customer service and the very polite woman told me that the cashier was wrong and that I could check out with her today. She took all my coupons and I spent $6.14 on $45.00 worth of groceries. I am not sure about the inconsistencies from cashier to cashier, but I definetly have my favorites. Has anyone else had the problems with doubling coupons?

One thing you can do to help get rid of the coupon inserts you don’t need anymore is when you write the date that the insert came out, also write down the date of the last expiring coupon in the insert. Once that date hits, you know it is safe to discard the entire insert. It will save you from having to flip through the whole thing looking to see if any are still good. Hope this helps.

    • Lynn
They are buy two get one free.
      They are $3.99 a piece.
      $7.98 for 3.
Use (3) Publix coupons $1.00 off
Use (3) Manu coupons $.55 off.

      Now they are $3.33 for 3, or $1.11 each…

We dont drink Propel but I couldnt turn this down as that is a huge deal!

    • Laura

      The dollar tree sells newspapers?!?!?
Here I am spending $1.50 each when I could spend $1.00…darnnit!!!

    • Allison

2 more good deals at Publix this week: Laughing Cow cheese wedges are 3/$6 and there is a coupon floating around (by the cheese) that gives $1 off produce when you buy either 1 or 2 (can’t remember now).

Also, the kraft mac and cheese dinners or velveeta shells have a coupon for a free bottle of kraft bbq sauce when you buy 2 boxes.

This was at the Goose Creek, SC Publix.

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Good evening everyone, hopefully most of you got to read last weeks post about Publix coupon policy. Be aware guidelines for the stores is coming & the non – traditional coupons will no longer be accepted at stores & only traditional coupons of competitors w/in a 5 mile radius of the stores will be accepted soon. Also to answer some questions from above.

V as long as the Publix baby club coupon doesn’t say manufacture on it you can use it with a manufacture coupon so you can maximize your savings.

Sunny – the only way I know that your coupons wouldn’t double is if the coupon stated do not double – Other than that all should double up to .50.

    • Folole

The Scotch mailers are .69 cents, use the .50 Manf coupon for any mailing product from this weeks inserts to get them free. These are the smaller mailers that you could use for pics, cds, dvds, etc…

I live in Thomasville, GA and shop at the Publix here. They are wonderful about any coupons. I have almost stopped shopping anywhere but there and I use to never shop there. My total just rang up $118 and I paid $42 tonight….I got some great deals!

    • Candice

Just wanted to let anyone know who lives in Thomasville, GA …if you go up to the customer service counter and ask for the Raise Your Hands for Savings coupon booklet…they will gladly give you one!

    • Allison

went to my fav publix again tonite (the nasty cashier wasnt there thank goodness). had my favorite – JOSH – super cute and so nice.
My bill was $90+ and i spent $27 :) he accepted my FL and RiteAid coupon without a question…….. YEAH!

    • lynn

shopping is a pleasure i assume you work for publix so here is a question the store i shop at will not allow store coupon has lu number on it to go with a manf. this is per store manager any ideas on that issue or best aproach? thank you

    • lynn

    • Heads up for SUMMERVILLE PUBLIX SHOPPERS–my friend and I both shop the Publix on Central! She went Wed for the pop tart deal and was told that they no longer take the $5 off $25 from riteaid. She got everything in writing and this is what it says:

Publix (on Central at least) will take coupons from Bilo, Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Harris Teeter, Save-A-Lot, Earth Fare and Whole Foods, but WILL NOT take coupons from Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Family Dollar, Blooms, Kroger, Harveys, Albutsons (because they are not direct competitors).

Also it says that they will only take ONE $5 off $25 (or any $/$$ amount) coupon for the total order and you cannot split up the transaction to use more than one coupon.

I’m really bummed about this as the Rite Aid coupons were helping me tremendously and I’m still learning the art of overage. Oh well!

    • Emily

My coupons will not print. I have tried it from two different computers that have printed them before. I wonder if the site is not working right. :(

    • lynn

emily make sure you have pop up blocker turned off

    • Miki

I saw a comment for a free milk coupon using a certain zip code and was not at my printer to print I and now I can not find the zip code. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

    • Willowbeth & Laura – Thank you for answering my Birmingham Publix & newspaper questions.

It seems like every store has it’s own policies for coupons. Or is this changing? I guess I’ll find out tomorrow if anything’s changed on me. I’m hoping to use a $5 off/ $25 Walgreens coupon. I’m not “counting” on it, but really hoping I understood the cashier about that.

    • Patty

LYNN – On the PROPEL coupon question….seems I just found that earlier tonight when I was in Publix. It is in a recent Yellow flyer. Forgive me but I just recycled it. I had 3 Publix store Qs and bought 3 six packs. Hubby didn’t think that would fly as the deal was buy 2 get 1 free but no problems. So just under $2 per six pack! Also found a Summer Grilling flyer with a couple of meat (Hormel Always Tender and Marc Angelo Kebabs). Had not seen or heard of that one before…. Good luck.

    • Patty

LYNN…went back to the Publix Advantage Buy flyer listing and found that Propel is listed as being in the Publix Yellow Advantage Buy 7/11-8/7 flyer.

    • Patty

Well, tonight I was at the Woodruff Road store and was advised that they will take the Food Lion coupons after all because we have a new one on hwy 25 which is just a few miles from the Publix on So Pleasantburg. Seems people were complaining about it. I had asked very nicely as I do appreciate the opporunity to save more and I genuinely like Publix better than other stores. I guess we will just need to submit to the authority on this one and hope they still want to offer the best deals possible. In the meantime, just check with each one as you walk in so there are no surprises (or consternation) in the check out lane. As we put our petitions before the judges, we just need to be nice about it when we ask. I am just grateful that they help me do the most with the ‘talent’ I have been given.

    • Deena

Can anyone in the Nashville area tell me if Publix will take the RiteAid coupon here? I’ve never tried to use it and I don’t shop shop enough at RiteAid to get $25 worth. Also, has anyone found the Raise Your Hands coupons in Nashville?

    • Jen

So I am new to this coupon deal and I am a little confused about printing out coupons from target, foodlion, etc. to use a Publix. Do they accept coupons from other stores and if so do they double these or just manufacturer’s coupon? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Lynn
Like Patty said, the coupon is in the yellow flyer.
Use that with the $.55 off store coupon (I am thinking you are in FL right??)
      Should work for you…

    • Goodmorning.
Just wanted to give everyone a upate on the Publix on Central.

They are takeig all coupons as of yesterday.Apparently the stores have been told different things by coporate. They have been confused. But they are takeing all coupons, you just can’t stack $5.00 off coupons.Antime you have any problems just ask to speak to a manager.Cashiers don’t always get the latest information and they don’t want to get in trouble. This is a great site.

    • lynn

Aymie yes iam in florida.. npr… but the store manager says we cant use both because on the coupon in small print it says one coupon per purchase so he said we can use either a manf. or a store coupon but cant use them together so i will use the store coupon for this that for the info i missed that one will go get water today

    • Deb

Ahhh, those Q-pon nazi’s are alive and well in most of our neighborhoods, aren’t they? Just avoid that particular store next time-I do. No skin off my nose. And every Publix in my area (Atlanta ‘burbs) take both FLIP and Target Q’s. I really threw this one cashier in a tizzy last week-had the FLIP $2/5 produce and 12 stacked T & Publix Q’s for the Apple and Eve juice boxes…mgr had to get involved but I got my deals!

OK, every week there are comments about they didn’t take this, mine won’t take that. How dare they quit taking the 5/25. ETC…..

Think back to before you did coupons, before you had Southern Savers!! Thank God you are able to save what you do… Be thankful you are able to use coupons.

Use common sense, if you owned the company would you allow customer to do it????? The amount of coupon abuse is going to make it where they only except manufacture coupons and NO others. IF IT SAYS ONLY 1 per customer then ONLY use 1. If it says MAY NOT be combined with any other coupon, then don’t ask them to do it and don’t try to sneak it in.

Publix has saved my family so much money!!!! I drive 20-25 minutes just to get to mine. Even though I have a walmart within 5 minutes.

Lets just be thankful for the amount of money we are able to save, and for having such a WONDERFUL person to put this together each week, and not be so negative.

    • Kelly

I just wanted to say THANK YOU, Jenny, for all of your hard work! It really helps my family and helps us to be able to share with others too.

    • Meredith

For anyone working on getting the Kraft rebate, I just found a super deal at the Publix in NE Columbia (on Hardscrabble)!

I was buying 4 boxes (different varieties) of the Velveeta and Kraft Mac & Cheese on sale this week, and I noticed that some of the boxes had peelie coupons on them for free Kraft BBQ sauce (buy two boxes, get one BBQ free). Using the printable coupons on the mac & cheese from above, I got four boxes plus two BBQ sauces for $1! Plus, I’m instantly up to 6 Kraft items because I bought all different varieties. Heads up if you’re in the market for these items!

    • Just finished my Kelloggs rebate and I am PSYCHED I just have to share!!!

Ok I bought 6 boxes of Poptarts, all FREE thanks to my Publix taking Target coupons…
2 Boxes of Rice Krispies, both FREE cause I had a “free Kelloggs cereal when you buy a Kelloggs cereal” coupon
2 boxes of Right bites bogo with coupon
1 gallon of Lactaid milk (we have sensitive tummies and one gallon of Lactaid milk is a (scary) $5.69!!!
I also had a $2 off any milk coupon when you buy 2 Kelloggs cereals…

Grand total for 6 poptarts, 2 right bites, 2 rice krispies, and one very expensive gallon of milk OOP was $4.45!!!!

      I am PSYCHED!
      Plus I make the $10!!!

    • And on top of that wonderful experience, an assistant CS manager came up to me and APOLOGIZED to my and said “I owe you $.15… I felt so bad after you left the other day. I spoke with management and they said I was mislead and that we, indeed, can give overage. I owe you $.15”

    • ET

Deb #146, at which Publix do you shop? My local metro ATL Publix stopped taking Target.

    • Colleen

Deena- I am in Nashville and haven’t been able to find the Raise your Hand coupon booklet either. I’ve checked at Nipper’s Corner, Maryland Farms, Franklin and the new Antioch one ( that one WILL take Target qs unlike any of the others in my area so sometimes worth the trek).
My sister in law DID find one of the coupon booklets in Spring Hill today. She had to ask and they had a couple behind the counter but would only give her one.

Tyson bag of nuggets are a good deal this week at Publix. On sale for $4.99, stack a manufacture’s q (from march maybe?) and a food lion both for $1 off ea= only $2.99 for a bag!

    • AngelaDH

      Scott K #110-

The Times Free Press does not contain all of the coupons the larger markets do. :( I’m going to try buying an Atlanta Journal Constitution on Sunday to see if they contain coupons. Probably not but I can at least hope! :)

    • Hi Sandy…first sorry about the delay in getting back to your question. The 2 Greenville locations that I usually shop at are the one on Pleasantburg by McCalister Square and the new one at McBee Station downtown. They are both super to deal with and very coupon friendly. Shopping is always a pleasure there. I would assume that McBee Station may no longer take the Food Lion Q’s, but not so sure about Pleasantburg. Food Lion is approximately 5 miles from them…I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

    • Tarrah R.

      Be Honest, Be Thankful;
Great Post! Just 3 Months ago I was using NO COUPONS, and buying the same stuff every week to feed my family on our meager budget- Thanks to this site, I have more food, and food we’ve never before had, than I, personally, have had in my entire life! And probably spent on it all the same amount I used to spend on my same cheap junk I got before all this couponing has taken over my subconcious, my sleep, my daily activities. So, if they stop taking competitor coupons, so be it, I know I can still save TONS as long as they continue the BOGO’s. I live in FL and don’t even get my coup’s doubled, AND have to buy two items (not one at half price), so those that do get that, DEFINATELY can be thankful for that much as well! Anyway- Thank you for helping us realize where we would be without coupons, and God Bless!

    • Tarrah R.

BTW- My biggest problem now, is being able to store all the ‘deal’ items! That’s a GREAT problem, if you ask me! (We have given ‘care packages’, probably need to make some more to give- but the person we gave the first to, I introduced to couponing, and now they don’t even need help with groceries anymore! LOL Love it!

    • Carolin

I’m still learning so please forgive me. When it comes to the kraft publix giftcard. I know that it’s $50 and 4 different items. My question is is it $50 before coupons? What about B1G1 sales. Example tonight I bought 2 different types of Kraft Shell cheese. Since there are on sale for B1G1 at $2.59. Does Kraft see that as 5.18 or 2.59. I have enough items for 2 giftcards, but now I’m thinking that I need to spend more money.

For anyone that isn’t doing the Pop Tart deal for the Fuel rebate. I noticed that a lot of the Pop Tart boxes still have the offer buy 5 boxes and get a free movie ticket. My publix accepts target coupons. So I’m planning on buying 10 boxes for close to nothing(Sunday am as soon as I get the newspapers) to get 2 movie tickets.

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Hello again couponers – I must say Be HONEST Be THANKFUL thank you.
You see everyone yes some of you are getting away with My Publix does this or accepts this, or the cashier doensn’t know get with the mgr. etc, etc. but point is like I said this will all stop eventually & go to 1 set thing. You see we have accepted this for so long b/c what is the first thing that Publix is known for ” their customers service ” But now we see enough is enough – there are alot of couponers taking advantage of our loyal customers, honest couponers, & Publix. We have couponers coming & taking handfuls of coupon books, taking multiple entry forms, backing up check out lines, the list goes on & on. I know we are in some tough times people but remember so is everyone else around you, I was struggling myself. When I saw what ” honest couponers” were saving & got a little coaching from some of my coupon customers I began saving alot & was able to plan my shopping better. Couponers this doesn’t pertain to all of you just the ones who are being greedy & taking advantage of something that can be taken away.

Lynn to answer your question from last night – It depends on what the Publix coupon says on it with the LU #, some store coupons are considered manf. Q’s & other aren’t where you can use them with a manf.Q like last month’s $2.00 off OFF coupon & the manf.Q $2.00 off OFF mosquito spray coupon totaling $4.00 off. You should be able to take your coupon to the customer svc. desk & ask them about the store coupon – also the coupon should say manf.Q on there somewhere too & if it doesn’t then you should be able to use both coupons.

    • Hi everyone I love couponing……today I went to Publix and bought 10 boxes of PopTarts which were bogo and 3 two liters of publix soda..
I used the target coupon stacked with the manf q and the foodlion 1.00
q for soda. my total bill was .11. Now I’m going to take the proofs off the box for the Fuel For School for a $10.00 rebate from Kellogg’s
      I have PopTarts for a while…lol…..Happy Shopping

    • megan

there is also a $1 off 3 mueller’s pasta coupon in my 7/19 smart source, just fyi!

    • SB

If your Publix is no longer accepting Target coupons, you may want to check out the deals at Target. I saw where Pop-Tarts are $1.57. With the manufacturer coupon and the Target coupon they are close to free. Buy 10 for the rebate and it is a money-maker! The Degree deoderants are also on sale at Target. I will be heading to Target before I go to Publix

    • Laurie

Jenny thank you for all of you do to help me save money.

Hi everyone. I have a question. The Food Lion coupons state “Limit one offer per transaction.” Therefore, shouldn’t we only use one Food Lion Q per item, per transaction at Publix. Also, does Publix get reimbursed for Food Lion Q’s like they do manufactor Q’s?

    • SB’sMommy

Sorry for #161, I hit something before I even finished typing in my Name and it posted! Anyway, if your Publix is no longer accepting Target coupons, you may want to check out the deals at Target. I saw where Pop-Tarts are $1.57. With the manufacturer coupon and the Target coupon they are close to free. Buy 10 for the rebate and it is a money-maker! The Degree deoderants are also on sale at Target. I will be heading to Target before I go to Publix and may get a few other things once I check out their deals. You can stack a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon and they usually have some pretty good store coupons. There were at least one or two other products that were on special that when used with a coupon were great for the rebate. I will be hitting Target more now that my Publix no longer accepts Target coupons. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Publix! But our Target is 1/10 mile away from Publix, if that, and if they have deals that save more money for my family it is worth the stop. They may not be a traditional grocery store, but their grocery section had expanded by 3 or more aisles the last time I was in and they ARE becoming a competitor, particularly with couponers.

    • Sharon in SC

    • Laurie

      #11 and #14
I had the same thing happen with the J&J Bandaids. The cashier nicely told I could not get overage because the coupon stated it. I of coursed looked more closely and the Publix Q stated something like not to exceed purchase price. She did put in for the Publix Q to take off up to the price. Therefore, the bandaids were free. Still a great deal in with my wallet.

    • Terri

I have a question for E. Brainerd TN shoppers-I had 3 of the $1 off propel coupons from the adv. flyers. I also had a $2 off Tide from Food Lion and $1 manu. Tide coup. When the cashier tried to scan them she said I wasn’t allowed to have a coupon for each item that I bought. I was confused because I had never heard that before. Note:(I only purchased 3 propels and 1 Tide).

Has anyone else had this problem?

She said I had to chose which coupon to take back. I took one of the propel coupons back, but I just don’t get it. Could someone explain what happened?

    • lynn

    • lynn

shopping is a pleasure i think what you are saying make sense and you are trying to be helpful and i for one dont take iy for granted but would like to know what you suggest i cant use coupons with a lu number with manf. coupons that scans i have called to ask about this and the same manager always calls back and tellsme the same thing no that cant be done i have two stores in my area and the same answere at each store as this has been told by the district manager what would you suggest i do i live in florida so iam not getting double coupons but i could have a nice savings if we were aloud to use store coupons with lu numbers with maf. coupons as it stands with out the double coupons and not being aloud to stack at all it doesnt matter if i shop win dixie sweet bay or publix the savings is about the same….. what could i do to make the manager aware with out offending him that we can use coupons with lu numbers with manf coupons and thank you for sharing in such a positive way i think what you have to say can be helpful

    • lynn

there are new coupons up at coupons.com

    • Lane

I was searching for the Hunt’s ketchup coupon in the August All You magazine, but two copies did not have a Conagra insert. Does anyone know if this was something special for store copies or if I am missing something? Thanks!

    • Michelle in Georgia

i got a coupon in the mail from publix today…$5 off a $30 purchase. unexpected but great! :)

    • DALE

The Muir Glen tomato products for .99 are not in my ad or store!

    • Terri you had 3 propels with 3 coupons and 1 tide with 2 coupons that makes more coupons than items. You should have one more item then you could have used all 5 coupons.

    • Andrea

I went to the Publix at Thornblade (SC) this morning and they have signs saying that they will only accept competitor coupons from traditional grocery stores starting today. I have a close family member who is in management for Publix (I am trying to be as general as possible as to not get this family member in any trouble) and this person has told me that Publix is reviewing their coupon policy because there has been a lot of abuse of the policy and it is not consistently enforced between the stores. I know 99% of us on this forum are honest couponers, but the 1% that aren’t might ruin the savings for the rest of us if Publix has to tighten the belt when it comes to coupons.

    • ang

I just read the comment about Publix not taking Food Lion brand coupons. The Publix on Hwy 100 in Nashville took my coupon from Food Lion for the store brand sodas.

    • Anne

I just got back from Publix and was told that corporate is debating whether or not they will be accepting Target AND Food Lion coupons in the future. As of today they haven’t received word back from corporate on the final decision so they did accept my target Q’s but likely very soon they will no longer accept those nor Food Lion Q’s :( I shop at the Tree Summit off PIB in Duluth, GA.

    • Robin

Last month I was able to print the Trailmix Crunch Coupons at my local library. I tried to print some Kellogs poptart coupons today and was unable. The computer message said administrator must install the coupon printer. Anyone else having this problem. If so. Any suggestions on getting extra coupons.

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Good evening again couponers, Thank you for getting the msg. out there for the new signage about Publix only accepting Traditional coupons. Hopefully all the other stores have followed suit with hanging the signage. I’m sure b/c direction to hang signage just came out today that some stores still might not have their signs up yet, ( but I am sure they will be up by Monday )I have been telling everyone for a few weeks now that this day would come. Next thing for you all to lookout for is the manf.Q’s are starting to change where you not getting as much savings — .35 cents off instead of .50 cents off, .55 cents off so the coupon won’t double, etc., etc.

Lynn to answer your question from last night. I don’t know why your local Publix is telling you that you can’t use your store coupon & manf.Q coupon together — If your store coupon doesn’t say manf. coupon or cannot be used in conjunction w/ any other coupons then you should be able to use both. As to how you can approach this with the mgr. at the store, Well I’m not sure, I don’t understand why they are telling you no.

SB’s Mommy – Target isn’t Publix’s competitor – Wal – Mart is Target’s direct competitor. Let’s honestly think about this, before the coupon madness did any of you make a shopping list out to do your grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, Target, Rite Aid, etc., etc.

Everyone keep looking out for more info to come.

    • newatq

I have shopped MANY times for groceries at super walmarts. In fact, I used to purchase MOST of my groceries there. We have no super target near us, or that may be a good deal also. If the manufacturers cut back on their q’s then I will buy the CHEAPEST store brand whether it is wal-mart, publix, kroger, or aldi. I love publix, the people are great. I have found that because of their friendliness, I go to their store to buy non-coupon items–even if they are a bit more expensive on these things because publix is so good with coupons. My way of supporting them. I think if publix changes too much, it will lose customers to ‘non-traditional’ stores; I for one don’t mind driving a bit for a bargain.

    • newatq

Whoops. I remembered there is a super target near me. It is just the opposite direction from where I shop. But it is within 5 miles of at least 3-4 Publix’s. I would also venture to say that there is a Super Walmart within 5 miles of most Publix’s (at least in the middle tn area). While it is Publix’s option whether to recognize their coupons, they are competitors. Publix may not recognize them as a competitor, but they view Publix as a competitor and they are competing for my $$$ as well as other people’s $$$$. I very much appreciate Publix as a store. I appreciate the management and how the employees cheer us on. I sincerely hope the fraud stops so those people don’t ruin it for the rest of us.

    • Heather

My sister in law who works at Publix told me today that the publix in Easley SC will no longer accept Target, food lion coupons after 8/15. She said the only comp coupons they will accept is Ingles and Bilo. It will be posted all over the store but I thought I would give everyone a heads up.

    • lynn

well the store i shop st has always had the rule of traditional grocery store coupons so that doesnt bother me and it would make senset as for the question i did use to make my list and shop at walmart before i knew about using 2 coupons on a bogo .. our walmart is a supper center store and has a ful grocery department and on some thigs they still have a better deal so to answere truethfuly i use to think walmart was the cheapest place to shop but thank you Jenny for teaching us how to make the most out of a bog and also i live in florida we cant double coupons any ways

    • kristie

In publix new green advantage for this month Speedstick is on sale for 2 for $4.. Go to coupons.com and use zip code 33907 for $1.50/1 coupon.

    • newatq

The Wal-marts in middle tn also match competitor prices (they post publix, kroger, fl, etc. ads at their store.) They do not double coupons; however. I am not trying to sway anyone to walmart, only pointing out to ‘shopping is a pleasure’ that they are a competitor. I prefer Publix. The shopping experience is much nicer and the produce is much better, but it ultimately comes down to price as to who gets my $$$$

    • Tracie

Shopping is not always a pleasure for me #179:

I never have the same checkout experience twice at any Publix store. As a matter of fact the coupon policy varies from cashier to cashier within the same store. So, my shopping is not always a pleasure, more like random luck. Since I like to play by the rules and I hate to wait and make my fellow shoppers wait, I contacted the Publix Corporate Office to ask them what there policy is. The only competitor coupon that I use at Publix are the Target ones (not Rite Aid, Food Lion, etc). The District Manager called me and said “although Target is not our biggest competition, we do not want to lose a customer who wants to use Target coupons”. He then went on to state “Actually WalMart is our biggest competitor”. Since this contradicts the statement from Shopping is a Pleasure, I have to wonder who is right?

    • seacoastmom

What a great day at Publix! I spent $51 & change and saved over $80 PLUS I got my 4 items for the Kraft Rebate which will be another $10 savings.Just realized I missed a $ coupon on one of the items, oh well. I hardly ever spend $50 at one time because I usually do a Sunday & Monday Publix run with smaller totals so I can get 2 penny items. I sure hope meats, chicken & fish go on big sale soon!

I stopped by Cust Service to ask if the coupon policy had changed and was told “No, why should it?” so hopefully my Publix (on Trolley)continues to take FL & Target coupons. I even stacked coupons today for Ragu & Poptarts and Kellogs cereal which is a big deal for me.

I bought 4 papers today during my CVS run so I could use a couple of the Poptart coupons at the store. I had one very nice lady ask me about my coupons and I gave her the site name and 2 other customers complimented me on my organization. Even the cashier who is usually not so gregarious was very pleasant today- though I didn’t push my luck & go in her line ;-)

There were a few “Raise your Hand for Savings” coupon booklets at the back near dairy. Exp dates are 9/9/09. I only took one, promise!

    • Alison V.

At least some stores are posting the coupon policy changes. I feel like things change there frequently and you get thrown for a loop AFTER you get in line! I don’t mind changes, I just think they should make people aware of them. For example, I know they used to stack manu, publix, and compet q’s in Chattanooga, and now they don’t. I know someone who was ridiculed over it in line by a cashier at the Hixson loc and told it was NEVER allowed and IF anyone did allow it, they were mistaken! (It makes sense to only accept one or the other, since they are loosing money both ways.)

I love the E. Brainerd loc and managers are really nice there. I just asked the other day to verify that we can still use multiples of the same Target q since it doesn’t say otherwise, and and the csr said yes. She didn’t mention they might stop taking them. We have a regular Target, not a super-target nearby, so it’s really nice of them to take them.

A manager at E. Brainerd explained to me once that they are supposed to take the manuf q first, since its amount CANNOT BE CHANGED, then publix/compet q’s, that way they can adjust the 2nd q to prevent overage. But no one has ever done that to me. Also, Chatt publix’s don’t accept $$ off $$$ q’s.

    • There is a .75 off fantastik q in the 8/2 smartsource, making to .50 at publix this week!

    • Deanna

There is a .20 cents off Hunts ketchup cupon in the AJC version of Smart Source on 6/21 if you dont have the other ones mentioned in the posting. Lots of talk about being questioned and treated rudely by Publix. I’ve been there. I’ve been treated quite rudely by managers as well. I choose not to make a fuss because I dont want to cause a hassle which could possibly lead to great deals being done away with completly.

    • Deanna

Theres a $1.00 off 3 Muellers pasta in the AJC version of Smart Source on 7/19 if you cant print the other one.

      Hi All!
I am new to this site. We just moved down from Chicago so Publix is a new store to me. Im just wondering if someone can clarify a few things for me….
For example, I am looking at the Yoplait Kids yogurt deal. It says that the yogurt is 2.79. Then it says that if you use one of the IP (.40/1)it makes it .59??. Even if Publix doubled that Q to .80, the math would me wrong. The math is not making sense to me so I am SURE I am looking at this wrong. Can anyone explain why my math isnt coming up right a these products? Thanks so much! Kate

    • just left publix for the second time, and there was a bogo in store deal in the big box of electrasol.

Shopping is a pleasure, I said that Target is BECOMING a competitor. Overall, Target may not be seen by Publix as a competitor, but in our area and many others, they are. Any business that pulls your customers from your stores so that they are spending their money with them instead of with you is a competitor. As a retailer, you want to keep your customers from going to other stores to shop. In this economy, store loyalty is no longer the driver influencing where people shop. Value for the dollar is what gets people in. Like I said, I love Publix. They are my favorite grocery store and I very, very much appreciate their coupon policy and have never abused it nor complained to them about any of their decisions. But if I can get a better deal somewhere else and it is worth my time to stop, I will. And while I am there, if I pick up milk, bread, and impulse purchases (Ask any marketing expert – impulse purchases are big profit-makers.), then that is money that Publix is no longer getting. And if I find myself stopping in that other store more and more, I will start thinking that maybe I will transfer our prescriptions (another profit-generator) to that store since I am in there so frequently.

When I first began couponing, our Publix accepted the Rite-Aid $5/$25 coupons. I used the coupon at Publix one time, only after asking if it was accepted, but I just didn’t feel right about it and never used one again, even though it was allowed. I agree that drug stores are not direct competitors.

Wal-Mart may be a competitor in the big picture, but not for all areas. Do you see a Wal-Mart section on this site? A lot of couponers don’t frequent Wal-Mart because they aren’t coupon-friendly and they don’t distribute weekly ads so you have no clue of how to plan your shopping with coupons. Not to mention that it is a hassle to get in and out of there! And yes, to be honest, I DID make out multiple lists before I started this coupon madness, so please don’t make assumptions. Like I said, if the additional savings is worth my time to stop, I will.

I am sorry if I offended you. I was only trying to point out that Target has some great deals with stacking for those who are no longer able to use their Target coupons at Publix and that many couponers in our area are shopping there more frequently since Publix stopped accepting them. They can use them at Target and get just as good of a deal many times. And that is what this site is about, getting the most for your money. I am not bad-mouthing Publix at all. I would much prefer to keep my grocery shopping to one place. It would be much more convenient, that’s for certain!

$1 off 2 coupon up for Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits right now on coupons.com:

    • Jessica

Actually, #179 (shopping is a pleasure), IF there were a SuperTarget near me, I would actually do more of my grocery shopping there. I already get great deals on cereal and granola bars, etc., in their pantry section at the regular Target quite frequently. We do have a SuperWalmart, but it is across town from me and not worth the drive, but their grocery section is at least as big as Publix’s. For people who live near a SuperWalmart or SuperTarget, it is actually more convenient than Publix because you can also pick up other items while you shop for groceries. As much as I like Publix because of their excellent deals, if they start making those deals harder to come by, Publix will almost certainly begin losing business to the more convenient “super” stores. They should think twice about not considering those stores close competitors.

    • lynn

i found the fuel for school coupons not at publix but at windixie

    • SB’sMommy

I posted in response to Shopping Is a Pleasure saying that Target was not a competitor and I owe her an apology. I mis-read her part on Wal-Mart and I thought she was saying that Wal-Mart was Publix’ biggest competitor but now that I am reading more clearly I see she was saying something entirely different. I was trying to point out how they couldn’t be that big of a competitor if Target wasn’t and I was in error. My apologies!

    • lynn

i can see them not considering the pharmacys or target (as we have no supper target here) a competitor but honestly dont understand why they dont consider walmart the popsicle coupoons for a1.00 off makes popsicals and fudgesicles free at walmart and a few other things and since we dont have double coupons here in florida i think publix is loosing out this week my some of my grocery money is going to wags and walmart .. though i love this site and do get wonderful deals thanks to Jennys hard work.. i think publix is snoozing on this one

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Well couponers, I can actually tell the feathers got ruffled & then the replies came flying. OH I just love it – typical of the know it all customer who in reality doesn’t know it all. I understand your defense people, but know one thing for some time greedy couponers have taken advantage of a good thing. That is why you will begin to see changes in grocery stores soon to come. Also, like I said yesterday manf.Q’s are starting to change now. People I do this everyday, I see what is going on everyday. It is great you communicate this way but things are changing b/c it is being taken advantage of.

Tracie # 186 I apologize that their seems to be cofusion btw. multiple cashiers on your visits to your Publix, But I have a question before you called corporate did you goto the customer svc. desk & make the mgr. aware of the coupon confusion w/ their cashiers? Also about your contradictory statement Wal – Mart isn’t our competitor – Their cust. svc. is nothing like ours, their fresh dept. foods quality is nothing like ours, & only a 1/4 of their business is is driven towards grocery sales. — the other 3/4 of their business is non food. — this is why they are not a direct competitor – ( I don’t even want to get started on how that company is helping on choking out our countries economy – 67 % of imports from China goto Wal – Mart the other 33 % goes to all other companies & corporations in this country.) Now tell me how great Wal Mart is & I will tell you how many Textile Mills, & Factory jobs got put out of business b/c of Sam Walton’s kids greediness – Sam was a great man but when he passed away & his kids took over they really pulled a fast one on our economy. So if you wish to support them then by all means do this is a free country.

Newatq – To sum it up to you, If you feel cheapest is the best, good but I’m sure you will also have the CHEAPEST type of shopping experience b/c they don’t value you as a customer – In your local Wal Mart how many assoc. greet you, smile, take you to the product, know you, etc.

Couponers sorry for the ranting, If you have questions I will answer what I know. I do know more will come on coupon guidelines to follow so that it is fair for eveyone.

    • AngelaDH

I appreciate Publix and am so glad they are nearby! We have a BiLo, Publix and Super Wal-Mart all near our house. Publix sells their White Wheat Flour for three dollars less than a local health food store!! I appreciate the customer service and have yet to have any issues with cashiers. My son loves going with me so that he can get his free balloon. Now whenever we go anywhere else he wants one really badly (he’s 2). :)

    • Lana

The yogurt is BOGO so it is 2 for 2.79 and then you can use a coupon on each of them.

    • Leisa

Can you please weigh in? Is “shopping is a pleasure” correct in this doomsday scenario for couponers? Have you heard of policy changes? I spoke to a district manager last week for north central florida and she confirmed the coupon policies and said nothing of drastic changes to come?

Shoopin is a pleasure seems almost gleeful in her delivery of bad news ;)

    • Nickie

A post earlier in this thread said that she’d browse thru magazines until her order was finished being scanned and then hand over her stack of coupons. That is a nightmare for a cashier. I used to work at a Winn dixie and a lady came in regularly with a stack of coupons. I dreaded her–I didn’t know her and how was I supposed to know if she had coupons for stuff she didn’t buy or expired ones. She’d also become irate if I tried to figure out if her coupons matched what she bought. It would take at least half an hour to validate all the coupons if the cashier was doing her job the way store policy would want her to. Matching up the coupons with the items as you put them on the conveyor belt is the most honorable thing to do. How else can that cashier do her job right and not make everyone mad in line. If we want to continue to use coupons in the best way we have to do all the work and make it as easy on the cashier as possible. I have even thought about asking a mgr about opening up a line if possible to ring up my order (it helps to go in when the store is not busy).

    • Erinn

Kinda new to this, but I am becoming addicted very quickly! So… just to kind of get this straight, Publix will accept competitors’ coupons for the most part?

    • Kate

Oh my!! I guess I just need to read the bold print. Thanks Lana!

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Leisa # 204 I am not Gleeful for this point of bad news being given. I am just delivering a msg. that when we have a good thing going someone has to go and mess it up. I am thankful for what I have learned from couponing. Just making everyone aware of things to come.Like I said, I see the couponers who take advantage of loyal customers, honest couponers, & Publix. We are not going to stand on the sidelines & keep letting this happen this has to be fair for all of our customers.

    • Jennifer

Hi, Everyone! Just had a great shopping experience at Publix! I bought $60 worth of groceries and spent less than $10.00!

That was WITHOUT a single competitor coupon and $6.00 of what I spent was for a bottle of pure maple syrup that had no discount.

My cashier was very friendly and the bagger got excited when she saw me just hand over a $10 for all of the stuff I purchased using only the $5 off $30 Publix Q and manuf. Qs.

It’s good for your health and good for your heart to focus on the positive, smile and be thankful! So SMILE :)

    • lynn

SHOPPING IS A PLEASURE well well well i think you went from looking like you were being helpful to coming across as down right insulting you can have your personal thoughts and opions about walmart. if publix chooses to not veiw them as a competitor ( some publix do see them as one yeah for those publix)then yes publix would be and is loosing vauluble grocery dollars to walmart when a family is strugling to feed there family the are going to look to the cheapest means possible to get food on the table. and walmart certanly see publix as a competitore thus is why walmart will price match publix…..as for the customer service you talk about we dont always see it as shopping is a pleasure it can be a pain in the butt for the honest couponer when the person has not been trained right including customer service as you told me yes you can use a manf (coupon that scans) with a store coupon (coupon that has a LU number they wount let us do that even though it is aloowed and accepted and legal you also say you have no idea what to do to resolve that issue.
we do love the dealss we get at publix and we love jenny for the time she takes every week to stear us in the right direction but we all know that publix isnt the only game in town nor is it always the best options ….. we are not greedy people or un gratful people just the oposit we are caring loving people and if you took half a moment to read at how we support each other here and look out for each other ,…. and how we use this as a way to help our selfs and to help other threw donations you couldnt ask for a better group of people then you will find here on this sight

Southern Savers: Where reading these comments are not my pleasure #201

Of course I went to the CS desk, she agreed with the cashier, surprise! I also spoke to the Store Manager and Asst. Mgr. They both told me 2 completely different coupon policies. As far as contradictory statements, your District Manager, who I believe ranks higher than you, is the one that told me that Walmart was your biggest competitor.
For some reason you feel the need to attack everyone on this site, greedy couponers, seriously???? If you can provide a value added comment please do so, otherwise you don’t need to be on here, it’s not constructive, nor do I get any “pleasure out of it”.

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Well first off, I must say I am sorry if anyone got offended by things I said. This wasn’t my intent, I was merely telling of what was to come, but I guess things change from state to state with each different type of competitor. Here in S.C. there is a policy being put in place, even signage being put up.In florida this may not be & then I guess you are lucky. Coupons are doubled up here to .50 & Lynn — store coupons can be used in conjunction with manf.Q’s up here as long as it doesn’t stipulate difference – that is why I can’t explain why they aren’t doing it. Huh Go figure.

Tracie — I honestly wish you would read my comments better b/c I never attacked anyone on this site & called them greedy couponers – I was explaining it is the greedy couponers who have & are making things hard for the honest couponers. Not once did I point out someone on here was one. So pls make sure when you feel that you are making a value added comment to me make sure you understand the comments I said first.

I have thanked everyone on here for help with couponing & there is good information on here.

    • newatq

shopping is a pleasure, a question. I am new to the couponing thing. What exactly does Publix consider abusive couponers? I choose to purchase more than one copy of the Sunday paper. When there is a sale and I have a coupon, I stock up. I have only used a rite aid coupon once, and I asked the manager if it was ok. Do you consider me a greedy couponer? I have changed my shopping habits. Instead of getting everything or our family for a week –whether or not it is on sale, I now purchase when it is on sale. Some weeks I don’t shop much because the prior week I was able to get what I needed.

As for wal-mart, whether or not you consider them a competitor is irrevalent. Consumers have a fixed amount of $$ and they will go to where they can get the best value. I am not singing the praises of Walmart, nor deamonizing them. It is a fact that when times are tough, wal-mart does better because people change their shopping habits (watch CNBC–you will see that I am correct). As times get better, people become more willing to relax their frugality as they feel their situation has improved and are more optmistic about their finances. Customer loyalty in tough economies goes out the window in economic downturns.

It will be a Publix business decision whether to honor competitor coupons. I’m sure those in the business analysis dept are weighing things like losing impulse purchases or losing customers to other stores with the $$ they assume by taking competitor coupons. It will be a tough decision for them, but bottom line is bottom line. As much as I enjoy Publix, I will continue to look for the best value for my family.

    • Shopping is a pleasure

Newatq – An ” abusive or greedy couponer ” is one who comes in the store & takes all entry forms to try to win a contest, or one who comes in the store & takes instant coupons off boxes of cereal. brownies, etc.,or one who comes in & takes handfuls of coupon booklets off pallet displays when they should only take 1 or 2 at the most so other couponers can get one too, or when checking out they try to break up their order in different ones, & the list goes on, & on. I don’t know you so it is not my place to call you a greedy couponer.

    • Savin’ in SC

      Well said, Newatq.

    • newatq

Whew!! I’m not a greedy couponer!! Why do people try to break up their order when checking out?

    • Jodi

I had the worst expirience ever at Publix yesterday. My best friend and I went in and we both got the BOGO deals for the Bertolli sauce, Poptarts,Milkbones,Muellers and Kraft Mac n cheese.I had a coupon for each item I was purchasing and only the poptart ones were printables from Target.I always ask the cashier what is easier for her:Put the coupon with the item or just hand them all to her. When I asked her this she doesn’t greet me she reaches her hand out and grabs them from me.She then starts handing them back saying I can’t use this one because it says one per purchase.I say yes I can because I am purchasing 4 seperate ( this was on the pasta sauce and I had 2 $1 off 2)NO thats not how it works and she is very rude at this point.
She still has not rung up anything and has handed back most of my coupons. I have never had this problem so yes I asked for the manager and the assistant manager came over and said I was right. The coupons were NOT one per person but one per purchase and I was indeed purchasing more than one.Now comes the fun part. This infuriates the cashier to where she is just down right nasty to me and my best friend behind me.She tells me “she better not get in trouble”,shaking her head the entire time and makeing remarks about management that are very unproffesional.I even said I don’t know why your so upset when management gave the ok.She was so unpleasant to both of us that I went back to the assistant manager and let her know I didn’t appreciate the way she treated me.If she has a problem with managers she needs to take it up with them and not out on customers.Neither me or my friend could believe what just happened after we left.Needless to say, That store has lost my business and I plan on calling the Customers relations office monday.

    • Deena

Thanks for the update. I completely forgot about the new Antioch location. I think you are talking about the one going towards LaVergne.?. I hoped they would take Target coupons because the Super Target isn’t far away. Food Lion is just down the street also. I hope they take the riteaid coupons as well; have you ever had luck using riteaid coupons? I’ll have to try them out next time.

I normally go to the Nippers Corner location and they had the display up for the “Raise Your Hand” promotion, but all of the coupons were removed. They didn’t have any at customer service either. I’ll have to check Belle Meade now that I know what to look for, but I’m doubtful.

    • ET

I have a question: How many newspapers do you buy/pick up from the recycle bin/receive from neighbors, etc? Since I started following the site a couple of months ago, I have been buying 2 of the AJC double-packs. But when I see some of the scenarios, I reaize I don’t have enough coupons. What do you suggest for a typical Sunday? I realize the answer can depend upon the inserts available for that week, but for this week for example, whick looks to be like a good one!

    • Kate

Does anyone shop at any of the Publix in Alpharetta? Im new to the area (and Publix in general) and am wondering if they give any grief about stacking coupons, specific competitor coupons, etc. I would hate to get my first Publix trip all ready to go and have them only accept half my q’s!! Any help would be great! Thanks so much!

    • All this talk of Walmart reminds me of why I boycott them…
They have terrible customer service, they look down upon couponers (it was said from a manager’s mouth that they compare couponers to WIC customers and Food Stamp holders. I think we are all one paycheck away from being food stamp holders, or even WIC participants, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with either. And to think that saving even more money with a coupon makes us out to be seen through their eyes that there IS a problem… makes ME have a problem… WITH THE STORE) But anyways, moving on, Walmart never beats Publix’s sales.
Granted, their “everyday low price” beats Publix’s none sale prices, but the whole point of couponing is to get the lowest price possible and to use a coupon along with it for even bigger savings.
I will not step foot into a Walmart for groceries.
Not even their generic brands because Publix’s generic is better, if I even purchase them…
If we all boycott Walmart, Publix would have no choice but to take every coupon possible and would be the main store everyone goes to.
Leave Walmart for those who like to be taken advantage of and looked down upon.
I am sticking with my Publix.
      Where shopping IS a pleasure…
And if it isnt, the manager will make sure the next one is!!!

    • Jodi

This was a good week for coupons.I have home delivery, husband brought one home from work and I get 2 sets from neighbors. This week I bought 2 extra papers because there was so many coupons I use that
      they paid for themselves.

    • Jodi
I am so sorry you had that experience…
Dont let one nasty cashier steer you away from a store, though.
      That is letting her win.
What I do when I get a nasty cashier is complain, like you did, call corporate, but then when I return to the store, I purposely avoid her.
If her line is the shortest, I will go to another cashier, even if she has a longer line.
I think sometimes cashiers have a bad day and take it out on the wrong people.
I had one cashier tell me a few months ago “we cant take Target coupons anymore because they’re not a direct competitor.” I told her “but I can easily buy this stuff at Target and choose to come here instead.” So she said “I am just telling you what the manager told us.”
Well when I called to complain, the manager apologized profusely, said “I dont know where she heard that from, target coupons have never been an issue here. We welcome you and your coupons.”
So there you have it, sometimes cashiers like to hear themselves talk and like to be all high and mighty, and sometimes I think certain ones feel jealous of our savings and give us the evil eye.
To which I steer them to this website…
I know you will do what you feel is right, but dont go out of your way to avoid your favorite Publix just because of one negative cashier.
Just avoid her and go to the ones that are worth your time

    • Hi, the Kraft Deluxe Mac and Cheese and Velveeta Cheese are B1G1F this week. On some of the Velveeta and Cheese boxes, there are peelies for FREE Kraft BBQ sauce when buying 2 boxes. :)

      a. There are internet printables out there for $1.50/2 boxes of Mac and Cheese.
      b. The bigger bottle of the bbq sauce is B1G1F so you can get the bigger bottle (does not exceed free value).
      c. If you still have any tearpads for the $2 off meat or chicken when you buy 2 Kraft items (BBQ sauce)..use and get $2 on any meat.
      d. Three of the items qualify for the Kraft rebate. (2 different mac and cheeses and the bbq sauce.)

Buy 2 boxes of Kraft deluxe mac and cheese: $1.99 – $1.50/2 IP = 49 cents
Buy 2 boxes of Kraft velveeta and cheese: $1.99 – $1.50/2 IP = 49 cents
Buy 2 Kraft bbq sauce: both FREE with peelies
Buy meat/chicken: $2 off with tearpad
3 of these items qualify for the Kraft rebate.

Question. Going to attempt first Southern Savers experience today! Will someone please explain how this will be .24 each?

Kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese Dinner or Deluxe Mac & Cheese, 9.4-14 oz box, at $1.99
-$1.50/2 Kraft Velveeta or Deluxe printable (IE) or printable (FF) (makes it .24¢ ea)

Is it me? Or does this seem difficult at first? When will the whole concept “click?” Haha, thanks ladies!

jodi where did you shop at ?

    • April

Here is my exciting deal for the week! Not a huge list, but I was still excited!
I went to Publix and got:
A big box of Cheerios for my 10 month old
A jar of Mt. Olive pickles
      A tub of Country Crock
      2-8 pks of Trix yogurt

and my total after coupons and tax was $4.62! I was giddy! :) I am planning another trip now after getting my Sunday paper coupon inserts.

    • April

Oh, I forgot my bottle of Hunts Ketchup! All in all, I got the following prices on everything, give or take a few pennies:

      Yogurts-$.70 each

    • Cheryl

My question is for Jennifer #209. Where did you get a $5 off $30 spent for Publix coupon? Thanks!

    • lynn

shanele because it is bogo the price is 1.99 you have 1.50 off of two the price for 2 is 1.99 thus 1.99-1.50= 49 cents or24 cents each hope that helps

    • lynn

Shopping is a Pleasure if your intention is to represent publix and to help get info out you are going about it the wromg way you have allowed your personal opion cloud you judgement you dont have to like where or how people shop … like has been said this is southern saveers not to be confused with southern spenders we have bonded together here for a common goal to help each other save money we have become a sort of support group for each other ….so i would ask for the good of every one please quit with the insults and negitive remarks

    • Shanele

Thanks Lynn! It took me a little bit but I understand the concept now! :)) Real excited about shopping today!

    • Jen S

The Haynes Bridge Publix in Alpharetta WAS very coupon friendly, but with all of the apparent changes, I really don’t have a preferred store anymore (and I’ve shopped at them all!). They used to take Food Lion IPs (even though I haven’t seen a Food Lion since I lived in NC). They were still taking target coupons last week, but it seems to constantly change.

    • Jen S

I totally agree with you and wonder how legitimate Shopping is a Pleasure really is. He/she/it is certainly not authorized to speak as a Publix representative. My conscience is clear- he can call me whatever names he wants to.

    • ET

For those of you in the Newnan area, the Thomas Crossroads DID have the “Raise Your Hands For Savings” booklet. There is a display set up on the left with a square display in the middle. You can see where the coupons were located but they are all gone! I haven’t seen them anywhere else in the area and the Bullsboro location had not heard of them. Has anyone else had any luck?

    • Jodi

It was the one on Ridge just west of Recency/Rowan. This is not the first time I have had an issue there. With over 6 other Publix’s in the area, I would much rather get better service at another store.

    • lynn

jODI the one on state rd 52 and little is good and the one by starkey park is also good always treat your coupons like cash you would not hand over your cash before your order is rung up…also i think i have had that one or one just like her …i agree with you on that about better service at another store they will be opening another publix up soon up past moon lake road on 52 i am looking forward to that…i do have a question for you where would be the best stocked cvs in our area i cant find a cvs with socks they have on sale where i ahve been all say they dont stock them something about a low volume area? any ways sorry you had such a bad publix trip shopping isnt always a pleasure

    • kim r

I just did it for the first time!!!! Total was $50.15, but I only spent $11.88. Saw two other moms couponing and we smiled and said hi like sorority sisters. My 9 year old daughter was with me and was sooo impressed!

BTW – penny item changed from Publix water to Hostess powdered mini-donuts @ Hixson, TN store.

Dang! Shopping Is A Pleasure what state and what store do you work in? I want to make sure not to visit that store!

I was told by the manager in Ooltewah today that they would NOT double any coupons that say “Do Not Double” for example the yoplait yogurt. Even if the register double automatically (bar codes ends in 5) the cashiers have been instructed to cancel the “double discount” Cashiers have been instructed to do exactly what the coupon says. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up so we will know what to expect. I still did fantastic at Publix over the weekend (saved $70 and spent $30) so no complaints. Management there always very nice and helpful and have always taken extra time to help us “new couponers” understand and work to get the best value.

CHERYL, It was mailed to my home by Publix. I signed up for their baby club recently and I guess that put me on their mailing list. Go to their site and see if you can register for some of their magazines etc…

What does the term adj stand for? I have seen it used in this discussion in referring to coupons. I’m new at this. Thanks a bunch!

I have found them in the PTC Publix on Hwy 54 and also on Lower Fayetteville road over the last 2 weeks.

Also – FYI the Publix on Hwy 54 in PTC has actualy taken Target coupons recently when they had stopped about a month ago. It was reported by a friend and I tried it on 1 box of Poptarts on Sunday stacked with a manf q so it was free.

Starting to get the hang of this couponing thing! I saved $55 tonight at my local Publix store. Although, the Penny item changed to Publix Frosted Flakes because they ran out of water and they would not accept Food Lion coupons. Oh well… I made my hubby happy with my savings, so it’s worth it! Thank you Southern Savers!

    • Erinn

Forgot to mention… I ran into a couple other Southern Savers while I was there. It’s a nice feeling!

Made money by buying Pop Tarts today. Went to Publix bought 10 boxes $2.39 B1G1. Total $11.95, used 2 $1 coupons (from rebate insert in Sunday’s paper) and used 8 .75 cent coupons (Target) Yes they took the Target coupons. My out of pocket $4. Will make $6 when I submit the fuel for school rebate.

      Great Deal!!

The Yoplait coupons for the kids yogurt, actually both say at the top “do not double or tripple”, so even if you buy one at 1/2 price ($1.39) and use one of the $0.40 coupons, the final price is not $0.59 cents (like this sites says), it is $0.99. You are better off using the paper coupon for $0.35 off in the SS 7/12 since that will be -$0.70, making the final price $0.69.

Hixson Publix shoppers…I had the most pleasant experience yesterday doing my first (small) coupon shopping!!! The cashier was friendly and informed me of using coupons from other stores (Including Target and Food Lion)! She asked me why I didn’t have the Target coupon for the poptarts! LOL! The penny item was powdered doughnuts. Saw 2 other Moms there doing the same thing! We were very excited with each other!! Thanks Jenny!!!

    • Cheryl

      Thanks Jennifer!!!!

    • Angie

Unfortunately, our Publix does not take Target coupons :(

    • Katherine

I went to the Publix in downtown Greenville, SC today and was told by 2 cashiers that as of August 15th, the whole district of Publix stores will no longer accept Food Lion coupons because there isn’t a Food Lion in the Greenville area. Just a heads up.

    • Holls

I swear I am on a coupon high! I just got back from Publix and I only spent 13.28 and I saved 69.17!! That even included milk and some veggies! The bagger could not believe it. Wow….I am hooked guys. Thank You so much Jenny for this website! I will see you on Saturday!

    • Holls

Anna I just got back from Publix and they doubled my coupon .40. It said not to on the receipt but they did it anyway…hmmmmm..

I have gone to 4 different CVS this week that were out of the Finish Electrosol.I finally gave up and just got a raincheck. If they don’t have it and its on sale, get a raincheck. There are so many people looking for the bargains that what stock they do have goes quickly during a sale.If it’s really something good going on sale, shop the 24 hr store at midnight saturday like I do.I usually get there at 20 minutes till so I can get all my deals and then check out at midnight.

    • Jodi

Also wanted to add, they get their trucks in on fridays and are usually restocking then (in our area anyways)try going in on friday, looking for someone on the floor who is stocking shelves and ask them if they got what you wanted in.
