A few months ago, we gave away a Silhouette SD here on Southern Savers and there was such a great response that we’re doing it again just in time for the Holidays.

One winner will receive a Silhouette SD Machine (a $299.99 value) – including software for Windows XP/Vista and Mac, all cables, 2 cutting mats (one for thick media, one for thin media), one cutting blade and a $10 gift card to the Silhouette Online Store.

This is an awesome machine that you can use to cut just about anything you can imagine from paper, vinyl, even temporary tattoo paper! You can checkout some of my old projects from the first giveaway to get some ideas of it’s potential.

T-Shirts
Home Organization Labels

The part that I still love about this machine, once you own it there are no more pieces to buy.  You don’t need tons of cartridges that are each more money.  If you did want to make a special project you can get a download for 99 cents or just use your own imagination for FREE.

Tune in tomorrow and I’ll share a new project we’ve been working on (an awesome Advent Calendar filled with fun activities for the kids).

(I really don’t think I can use the word awesome enough for this one…)

(I just saw these on their site and might have to try them too!)

I have been wanting to build a few costumes. My brother has had his eyes on one of these to make an Iron Man costume. (Can’t seem to find the post, but it is awesome.)

Basically this cuts the paper and you fold it up. Huge hours of fun. It is the new model car for the super nerd. (A term I use lovingly, as myself and by brother fall into the category.)

One of my favorite gifts to make for people is photo quilts (with family pictures printed on transfer paper and ironed onto the fabric). For now, I am limited to square and circle photos ironed onto patches, but with the Silhouette, I could cut out individual figures or “silhouettes” and create incredible compilations of memories. I would love this machine for that purpose.

Jenny, I know I have already entered in this giveaway, but after seeing your new advent calendar project I just had to comment again :-) Your precious advent calendar is so cute! I love it! I just think this machine is so wonderful! I can't believe I haven't heard of it until you posted it yesterday!

Now that we are starting a family, I feel we should start doing fun activities, especially during the holidays! During Christmas time everything is all about giving or receiving gifts, and many times our lifestyles are too busy to take time to do family activities, play games, or even just sit and talk! Christmas time should be focused on the birth of Jesus Christ and spending time with family! So being 8 months pregnant with the FIRST grandchild on both sides of our family, I could do so much for the new grandparents, new aunts, and new uncles! Our sweet little boy has been given so much already from everyone, so it would be so nice to show how much we appreciate them with something they could keep forever! Jenny, this is such an incredible giveaway!!! You have such a wonderful heart to be able to provide someone with something so special for the holidays!

I've been dreaming of owning one of these since I first heard about them. I'm a “crafty” person and have spent hours carefully cutting with scissors and craft knives to make numerous projects – I love to post “sayings”, “verses”, etc. all over my house as reminders of how to live day to day but with all my family obligations growing daily I have little to no time to create anything because of the time constraints. It would give me such a boost to be able to be creative again without feeling like I'm shirking my caregiver duties just to please myself…..

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've commented on how I would use the Silhouette, but I keep coming up with great ideas I could use it for!! Since my son will be born around the holidays, I was thinking I could also use it to make cards to send out to our family for his birth announcements! Since foldable cards can be pricey I would use it to make the card and then include a picture of him after he was born! Oh, how excited I am just thinking about ALL of the possibilities I could use it for, and I would save money at the same time!! Fun + saving lots of money=priceless!!!! :-)

    • Bmwrmartin

WOW! We could use this machine for sure. I saw the advent tree in your post today and was thinking it would be perfect for our church Advent Festival. This year we decided to make more of the crafts for others in need, instead of all for ourselves. We made 3 sets of 24 advent pouches filled with goodies for some of our home-bound and a student at my sons school that has cancer and will spend most of the holidays in the hospital. This machine would be perfect to help us continue with crafty service projects in the future!
