We are always drained at the end of that trip but what a wonderful relaxing time to be with family!!!

As a mother of two and a full time teacher, summer breaks are the best thing ever…so for me I am going to relax and enjoy my 1 1/2 year olds sweet and cuddly moments and his not so sweet moments. I am going to enjoy one on one time and take in every word my 7 year old has to share. Then I am going to savor those 3 hour naps by watching my SOAPS and not doing a single bit of school work…but an hour massage can be squeezed in too!!!

A day at the spa would be so awesome and a great way to start the summer! :) I'm always begging my boys to “pamper” me with back massages and footrubs, but they don't last too long. :)

Fortunately, my children are all old enough to love to sleep in during the summer, so I plan to enjoy many quiet mornings, reading and relaxing, while they are snoozing.

    • Icecrmfrk

My relaxing moment for the summer will be this Saturday when we leave HOT Florida to go up to the mountains in North Carolina where it will be hopefully cooler. Waking up to the view of the mountains and being able to leave the grind behind will be the most relaxing moments for us this year.

Our vacations almost always consist of driving 6-10 hours to visit our families that live out of state. But last month, my husband and I took a family vacation to St. Louis with just us and our 2 year old daughter! It was so nice. We love to spend time with our families, but we have a lot of fun and relaxing time with just the 3 of us! :)

    • Beth Hopper

Most relaxing moment this summer by far…sitting on the deck reading a book while the kids play and ride their bicycles and my husband sitting next to me in his new wheelchair just so blessed to be alive!!! :)

    • Tj_jess

I just got back from a totally relaxing week with my family in Cape San Blas, Fl. It is very private, no crowds, no high rises, and just absolutely beautiful. There were no street lights where we were, so we could see a million stars at night. I spent evenings with my children watching the dolphins play right next to the shore. Heaven on earth! Praying this beautiful place is spared from the terrible oil disaster.

    • Tennesseestacy

I plan to take the gang and head for the mountains for a day of tubin' down the river!

Every Summer the most relaxing thing I get to do is take a trip with my husband to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. It is the most serene, relaxig and beautiful place I have ever been to. We rent a cabin there and enjoy the drive there thru the mountains. From the time I enter this town I feel all my problems and stresses melt away. We spend our days on a boat at the lake and visiting the lcal winery and our nights in the hot tub that sits on the deck overlooking the sunset from a mountain top! We have been every year for the last 4 yers. It takes a lot of saving, but seems to refresh me and our marriage every year! I thank SouthernSavers.com every year for helping me save enough mneyto be able to take this great vacation!

My son and I just got home yesterday from our first medical mission trip to Peru. It was amazing and exhausting and eye-opening! I learned so much but most of all I came home with a new appreciation for the simple things in life. Today, instead of stressing out over all the laundry, etc, I am just grateful to have a washing machine, running water, toilet tissue, etc. Instead, I had a wonderful day relaxing with my children, reading, enjoying a cup of coffee and being thankful for the simple things!

relax? with an infant? Probably the most relaxing thing I do this summer is when I get a little reading time in when the baby is napping.

    • Couponnicki

I'm a nanny and the people I work for are going on vacation next week. I am thinking that organizing my pantry and front closet into neat storage will be super relaxing. I have so much nice free/inexpensive stuff now that I am a couponer.

Go to Hilton Head with all the fam!

    • Momin2009

my plan is to go to Panama City Beach, let my husband watch our son (16 months old) & let mommy go to the beach early that morning read a book!! I can't tell you how excited i am to do that…wish it were tomorrow! I've never had a spa experience & this would be a real treat! I've been suffering from a herniated disc (with a fragment broken off & causing pain down my right leg, called sciatica) over a year now (after the birth of my son-1st child). This would really be a nice way to get a little bit of comfort back!

Congratulations to all the winners of the first 2 giveaways!

    • crobertson1916

My husband is turning 30 this Saturday. For the past three months, I've been planning a surprise trip for our family to enjoy a weekend at the beach. However, this past week, we had to put over $500 worth of repair on our automobiles. I had to ruin the surprise and tell my husband about the money I had been saving up for his birthday getaway. While we are going to go on our trip anyway – I had already paid for our room – needless to say, we've had to make a change in plans. I am very thankful that I had the money to pay for the repairs and am looking forward to our mini vacation even though it wasn't what I had originally had planned. I just pray the oil stays away at least until this weekend is over!

Everyone does their own thing! Plan to go out on the “skiff” with my hubbie & just fish a little, chill & read a good book!!

    • Mary Lee

I would love a day all by mysefl here in my home – don't really need a day to run around, just would love to stay here and get to some of those things that keep calling my name but I never get around to taking care …… actually it would probably take more than a day, but we could start there :)

    • EricaLudovina

My husband and I went to Edisto beach with my parents, it was so great! Bike riding everywhere was so relaxing and wonderful!!!

    • I spent a great day at the beach (Sullivan's Island, SC) yesterday with my hubby, 14 month old and some friends. It was beautiful and relaxing. I plan to make it to the beach as often as possible this summer (and if not there, then about 500 yards down the street at my neighborhood pool). ;)

    • J_keppel

I just hang out at my house and relax by the pool

    • Dangela424

We hope to enlist the grandparents to come for a visit with the kids while we take a trip to the mountains. To date this summer, the most relaxing thing I've done is spent a few minutes laying in the sun while my husband played with the girls at our neighborhood pool. It was very nice!

    • Stephanie

My daughter and I have spent a day at the library browsing books. :)

    • MrsTea

I plan to take naps when my children do! Ahhh . . . summertime!

    • Chrisbrady

We have to go the Gulf Coast in Mississippi for my daughter's softball tournament next weekend and was looking forward to that beach trip, but now with the oil spill mess, the trip won't be so fun after all. My kids and I did enjoy our fun time at our church vacation Bible school last week.

    • Bbcoughlin

    • Caroline

We're doing family vacation with my parents, brother, sister-in-law, their two girls and our son for a week in August. I'm praying there will be a beach left on the Gulf Coast. Our anniversary falls in the middle of the week, so my husband and I fully plan to go to dinner sans everyone else!

    • Cathy

I plan to go visit family in the west and spend time playing games and relaxing!

    • Savonarola

We're making a “field trip” bowl full of ideas for free or cheap field trips for me and the kids. If they do their chores and all that stuff, they can earn a dip in the field trip bowl. Each of them can pick five things that they want to do, and write them on slips of paper for the bowl (I get to write five things, too). By picking at random each week, I don't have to worry about “It's MY turn to choose what we do!” because everybody's ideas have an equal chance. I'm using some orange juice points for free or reduced admission to a couple of things, but otherwise we're making good use of county parks and other things we like. If at all possible, we'll buy post cards while we're there and write them to teachers and family as practice for writing over the summer.

Hardly relaxing — but fun, educational, and cheap!

    • Isaidno

Two weeks ago I was finally able to spend a Saturday without the kids to use the massage gift cards that my husband had given me for Christmas one year but apparantly they expired(?). So I called my mom (very frustrated) and she suggested we go get mani/pedi's together. So we did! I can't remember the last time I had a mani/pedi and it was very nice to spend time with my mom (without the kids). But I am still really disappointed about not getting the massage.

    • Christie

My family (husband and 3 boys) just got back from the beach with my brother and his family (wife and also 3 boys). All six boys are age 6 and under! It was quite stressful most of the time, but the men watched the boys one afternoon and my sister-in-law and I were able to sit at the beach all by ourselves soaking in the sun and listening to the waves crash for about an hour! Woohoo!!!!

    • Ahogan

Go to jeckyll island beach with my family

    • kristin

Taking my kids bowling was the funnest thing we have done so far this summer. We don't get out much. It's always fun to watch a 3 year old bowl for the first time. Lots of laughs!!

    • Stacy E.

Had a massage last week & plan on going back very soon!!!

    • C. Duck

The most fun thing I have done is using coupons and getting things for free, I love that! My sister is contemplating calling Dr. Phil to get me help for my “shopping problem” lol. The most relaxing thing that I have done is….. well I guess with my two kids and a few of their friends running around the house all day I have not had relaxing moment and now that school is out I don't anticipate any to come.lol

    • Bcvanhoy

I plan on heading to the beach and look for shark's teeth with my boys. Their is nothing like the sound of the ocean and the joy in you child's voice when they find one. It comforts the soul to share moments like that with you family!

    • Evie Enlow

Going on a cruise with 5 of my girlfriends next week- it's stressful planning a trip, but I know it will be worth it once I'm there!

    • Bethany

Our family took a rainy Saturday to simply watch movies, play games, and enjoy some of our favorite foods (pizza, smoothies, popcorn…) No stress, no traveling anywhere, and best of all, no phone calls (We made it a rule to turn off the cell!) Economical and great family time!

    • Ajcbagwell

A massage in an outdoor cabana!

    • Gena

The most relaxing thing I plan to do is to spend quiet time with God each day. I am a teacher who gets so overwhelmed and busy during the school year that I often neglect that most important part of my day. Waking up to a cup of coffee and my Bible is the most relaxing and refreshing thing I can do.

    • Loren

The most relaxing thing I've done this summer (so far… is it officially summer?) is take a long nap on smooth, cool sheets while running the fan on high.

I started out the summer with a massage that I rcvd for Christmas and hadn't had time to use. it was much needed to relax from the last week of school (I am a preschool teacher and have both of my toddlers there too). we are also lucky that we live in FL 10 from the beach so we have been there at least twice a week and been swimming at our friends pool a lot. anything to stay COOL…. it's HOT!

We are headed for Orlando next week, but I think the most fun and relaxing thing for me will be that we are leaving a day early so that we can head to St. Augustine Beach, I am so ready to just lay on the beach while my husband and boys hit the water. It will be great to relax after all the packing duties (I hate to pack) and right before all the waiting in line with 2 boys at Disney and Universal.

My husband and I were going to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach at the end of July for some fun however I was informed today that Orange Beach (where the condo is) is closed and we are no longer able to take our trip. Trying to find something else to do, but what can really make up for the beach?

    • Lovingthesavings7

I have never been to a spa, but would love to go. I devote all of my time to my family and job. I would love to be able to afford the spa, but I usually spend my money on my family instead. I have never been able to spend that kind of money on myself…but a day at the spa is needed. My most relaxing time is spent the 10 minutes that I have by myself from dropping the kids off at school/babysitters and driving into work.

    • Mrsjmward

Unfortunately, we got to the beach and my 6 year old son fell on the wooden walk way down to the beach and broke his arm. We spent the evening at the emergency room and one sleepless night at the hotel and left for home in the morning. I could really use a spa day.

I volunteered 2.5 days last week for my local alumni association as they hosted reunion. I haven't had that much fun in a long time!

After five long years of living with and caring for my aging mother, my husband and I purchased a new home in a rural setting. Our favorite thing to do, especially on weekends, is to decorate and renovate our new home and make it “ours”. After years of having little privacy and nothing to call our own …. we relish every minute together. From snuggling up to watch a movie to enjoying a dinner we cooked out on the grill, our new home has quickly become our haven :0)

    • Julie

HI, I'm a mother of a special needs child and once a year a local organization sponsors 10 of us to go on a day of spa treatment. It is so much fun and really the only time I ever get away. I'm an overprotective mom so its rare that I trust anyone with my son including the hubby. LOL

I wish I could afford all the wonderful relaxing places people are talking about. I thought I was going to be just a grandmother and now thanks to some bad choices I am going to have to be mother, father, and grandmother. The thing that me and my grandson Tray have been able to do is seat in his plastic pool and play with water guns and cars. I am a lucky woman to have him . nursedeborah@hotmail.com

Having a family picnic (at a fish rest.) with my grandfather's siblings families. My grandfather would be 115 and he had 14 brothers and sisters. The last one passes away last year. Hopefully we can carry on this celebration of family. Because so many have to travel to get together, we now meet at a resturant. I loved when we had pot luck lunches with all of those fresh garden vegetables.

    • linda

would love to go to new mexico to see my family i miss them so much and it has been a very long time since we went out west!

    • Debbystokeswhite

um….i don't know how relaxing my summer will be. i have a 2 year old and another one due in 4 weeks. But i definitely plan on trying to pamper myself with a pedicure sometime soon. and a massage or spa service would be lovely!

    • Kelly

WOW, this can't be any more of exactly what I need!

      Thank you!

    • Dljc3000

Had a pedicure after having surgery on my leg, it was the first time I've ever done that and it was great.

    • Sarah C

I'm going away with my husband this week—-just the two of us! No kids, no in-laws, no agenda or set plans…..doesn't get much more relaxing!

    • Kathryn

Will be going to the beach in July. A chair, an umbrella, a book, and me…I can't wait

    • Kristine

This summer I am spending time with my baby boy. We are doing Mommy stuff, beach, water park, play-dates, and visiting OH (family).

    • TERRIEM089

    • Culinarykat1

Hopefully if i win this gift card me and my sister can go to a spa day!! we need it! so far summer has been busy busy busy!

    • Lisa

We saved 2 years and took a cruise to the Bahamas 2 weeks ago. Nothing is as relaxing as sitting on the deck by the pool, knowing you don't have to think about any aspects of meals for the next 6 days-no shopping, planning, preparing, cooking, cleaning. AHHHHH. Add a Roasamund Pilcher novel-that's it.

    • Natalie

I just finished my first year teaching, so I am going to spend a week at the beach!

    • Gaby

We're planning to go to the beach. I'm hoping to get a few minutes every day to read and hear the sea…

    • Sherrie

I am going to a cabin in Maine this summer for 10 days. I am sooooo excited to sit and relax by the lake and do nothing.

    • Kbowers

    • tracyk

This weekend my husband went away for work. I found a babysitter to take our 4 kids for 3 days and I went with him! I did not do a thing :) I sat by the pool, read and worked out. No diapers, no fixing dinner, no settling disputes! It was fantastic, except I didn't get to spend much time with my husband :(

    • Janet

going swimming at the pool and having my hubby along to help with the kids! :)

    • Jillsutherland

Relaxing for me is actually going shopping and using my coupons. I get up every Tuesday at 5:30am and am in the 1st store by 6am. I stroll the down each and every aisle with my coupons. So peaceful. Thank you Southern Savers.

    • Awy14

Time by the pool, time at the beach, and a few luxurious naps!

    • Vicki

I had a massage while in Vegas on a kid free vacation.

    • Vincenza

We are planning a 2 weeks stay at the beach. Nothing more relaxing than sitting under the umbrella listening to the ocean!

    • Annareid84

The most relaxing thing I plan on doing is going on my honeymoon!!! I'm marrying my best friend at the end of July and then we're spending a week at Amelia Island :)

    • Laurie

Enjoy my lovely husband's company every day! And our 15th anniversary at the end of August and beginning of September.

    • Watesgj

I am so looking forward to going to the beach for the weekend and reading a great book. I hope I still get to go with all the oil washing up on Orange Beach, Alabama. Thanks!

    • Anniemccloud

Was very sad to not win the dinner and movie give away. My husband is in the process of starting his own buisness, so we don't have money for extras right now. We just took our three little kids to disney world and the beach last month with tax return money. It wasn't relaxing but good to be together on vacation.

    • With 4 boys, budget does not leave much room to really do what I want which is go home and visit family. A trip to a spa would be magical! Other than that…Keep trying to steal some “Me Time” in the early morning with a cup of coffee and a good book…Oh, and learn to Zumba!!!!

    • S_delport

I sat at the oceans edge after all the kids were asleep and read a book for an hour ! Ahhhh bliss … now I need to go to the spa to “fix” my body from the beach sun & sand.

    • Wmllewis

I plan to start riding my horses again this summer. That's something I haven't done since I had my last baby. There's nothing more relaxing than being on a trail with my horse. :)

    • Jennifer

Reading every new book in all the series I've missed because of work.

    • Kristen Dennis

I spent 7 days in Hawaii with my husband minus kiddos….wonderful!

    • Heidi

Spending time with family is always the best ….. after that – one must treasure hunt – very imperative to survival!!

    • Redsonya

My man and I went to the TN mountains for a few days of sights via motorcycle. Beautiful!

    • The most relaxing thing I've done is taken a few days off from work to lay out at my boyfriend's apartment's pool and watch daytime TV and the TODAY show! Just a few days off really recharges me!

    • kelly

      relaxing by the pool

    • Laura

Hmm- most relaxing thing- sitting my the pool!

    • Mochelle_69

I plan on the funniest most relaxing thing this summer being the meeting of my new granddaughter. She is due in July and I can't wait to sit and rock her back and forth over and over again as I sing to her like grandmothers are suppose to. I can't wait to be a grandma and that is what i am ready to do this summer.

    • charlene

Not much relaxing goin on with a 4 and 2 year old but I plan on enjoying every moment with my family this summer, maybe slip away to the beach for some much needed relaxation and watch the boys play

    • James

Afternoon naps! We are teachers and it's wonderful to be able to give in to the afternoon blahs for a change.

    • I just finished putting a nice “quiet” area out near my veggie garden…fenced, so the dogs can't even come spoil my quiet. It's got a little bench where I can sit and knit, or listen to podcasts…quite lovely actually. I plan to use it for the rest of the summer…enjoy nature in a nice relaxing quiet spot all my own.

    • Tmlee1119

Spa pedicures with my mom and NO KIDS! It was so nice!

    • Margaret H.

Riding a bike on the new swamp rabbit trail in Greenville, SC with my family this past Friday! We stopped and got ice cream!!!! However, paying $27.00 for ice cream was another story SO we got back on our bikes and continued a great day of cycling well into the dusk of the night!!!! Then we headed to the store and bought our own ice cream maker!!!! ;-)
IT was wonderful and very relaxing!!! ;-)

Thanks for the opportunity to enter! And Happy Birthday!

    • SB

Sitting at the lake at my mother's house (letting her do the cooking)

    • Charwyn Wyndham

Sitting on the back porch, under fan, reading the paper and talking with my daughter. Spending time with family is always the most fun thing to do.

    • zippy1

sit out in the field behind the barn and hear nothing

    • KandK'smom

My husband (aka- my best friend) and I are enjoying our summer of playing and spending time with our 2 girls. We just built a new house (with my husband doing most of the work himself for the past year) so we (me and the girls) LOVE having him home to just love on!

    • Jilljova77

I have a 2 & 4 year so the only relaxing I will get is at night when I am asleep. We are non-stop on the go around here.

    • Jlbail1

I have quit my job teaching to be home with my kids, so we aren't doing much in the way of vacation this year. I'm looking forward to lazy summer afternoons laying in the hammock with my 3 year old and 5 month old, staring up at the sky, watching the light peep through the leaves, and waiting for a plane to go by. My 3 year old loves waiting for the planes, and my 5 month old usually falls asleep in my lap. So special!

    • Miriam

Our family will be going to the beach the last week of July thanks to my wonderful parents who have rented a house and are taking us. I am looking forward just being with my family with no agenda or time schedule and to reading as I sit in my beach chair with my feet in the water.

    • Suzanne

no fun or relaxation here…i'll be trying to find a job :(

    • Heather B.

I plan on laying by the pool and going to the beach several times over with my hubby and kids until my hubby leaves for basic training in august, boy this sounds nice I hope to win:)

    • Nicomas

In 3 weeks I am heading out west to the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone National Park and Mt. Rushmore. I am really excited for the change of scenery from my home state of Georgia and look forward to spending some quality time with my husband! The trip should be very relaxing and beautiful!

    • Mythreeboys03

We packed a picnic and took the kids to the park.

    • Most relaxing thing ever: sitting back looking at the freshly mowed grass with the sprinklers coming on and the lightening bugs gathering around for a shower. It is one of my most fav things to do in the summer.

    • Acanrell0929

my most relaxing will be to take off vacation days to sit around and do NOTHING!

    • Rgowings

Heading to a friend's lake house, where I plan to spend a few hours sitting in the shade by the water reading.

    • BigGeorge

Taking my grandson to his swimming class. He just loves the water and I love him, so it's the best.

    • Baconbits0422

I haven't done anything “relaxing” in oh so long. I had triplets 4 years ago and nothing has been relaxing since then. I enjoy sewing and making different items that is about as relaxed as I get…lol This would be a heavenly if I won!!!!

    • Cla1128

      Cooking out with my family.

    • Gacajun

The family is going to Frio River in Texas with about 100 others for a Redneck Extended Weekend where we will sit in chairs in the river. What I enjoy most is the women don't have to do any of the cooking. A few days later, we'll head to Louisiana for a family reunion weekend with a bunch of crazy relatives and hang out at the bayou. I'll finally get some boiled crawfish.

    • Kgoss

I'm a teacher and since school's out, I've been sleeping late every morning! Of course, then I stay up too late at night.

    • Kmh826

We will be going to visit family and to Disney. Not very relaxing but fun.

    • Zavic

It was not relaxing but it was fun and amazing!!! After I finished my MBA, I rode my Harley Sportster from Florida to California and back a total of 7,014.8 miles in 15 days!!! I did it by myself!!! And YES I'M A GIRL!!! I visited 3 National Parks, Big Bend in Texas, Yosemite in California and Zion in Utah….. An experience of a lifetime!!! Beautiful, amazing, breath taking views….I wish everyone would have the opportunity to experience such an amazing trip. Now after the trip I needed a Chiropractor & the spa!!! It will great to enjoy the spa giveaway while remember this amazing experience.

    • Lawpirate

so far the most fun/relaxing thing we have done is to take in a free movie from our local parks department. It was on the beach of our local lake…outside, under the stars, the whole family together…it was great! (And free!)

    • Tiffanyf56

The most fun (and relaxing) thing I plan to do this summer is spend LOTS of time at the beach with my husband and two boys (4 & 7). We are moving from South Carolina to northern New Hampshire this fall (Lord help us!) so I want to enjoy every second of this HOT, HUMID, weather. That way, when I'm freezing my behind off this winter, I can think back to these 100+ degree days and actually MISS them!

    • Struckdeals

We are going to my family reunion!

    • Cindyrella2

Our family went on a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas. Spent a few days in Orlando, too. Wow. This would be a wonderful treat for a homeschool mom who cleans houses, too. ;)

    • JodyL

    • Stephanie

I quite my job! What's more fun and relaxing than that? Being 22 weeks pregnant with twins, and moving to a new house, work got to be too much for me. Now I have time to really relax before our sweet babies arrive.

    • Ddoodle98

Being a teacher the most wonderful way to relax is simply enjoy being at home with my family with no school pressures or issues.

    • WendyNewnan

Laying out at the pool while the kiddos swim!

Laying on the beach all day with a good book (francine rivers – of coarse!). (and not getting a sunburn after doing it!!!)

Can't wait till the kids are at camp…that way I can have a chance to reclaim my sanity!

    • The Carrolls

Well, I have a 1-year old, so my old definition of relaxing is gone. Based on my NEW definition, probably getting about 20 minutes to lay inthe sun while my niece entertains my daughter for me :)
      Fun– waterpark!!

    • Amy

Lots of little trips to the beach, library, summer camps, museums!

    • Selena Swearingen

I am a mother of 5 and I got a gift cert for a pedicure from my oldest for Mothers day, so I am letting my toe nails grow out and in a few weeks I will be getting my first pedi and I cant wait

    • DMcL

An unplanned, last minute overnight trip to the beach. For a planner like myself, trips=stress. This one was throw it in a bag and go. I thought it would be terrible (what did I forget). It turned out to be wonderful. Great time to focus on my husband and kids.

    • Kjohnston6

I took a bubble bath last month after a long day's work

    • Jennabows

My hubby and I plan on spending our ten anniversary in July whitewater rafting. A spa day would be great on our way back.

    • Jfjuly24

I took a 3 week trip to see family & friends. With 2 little ones, though, it wasn't exactly relaxing! (But that's not a complaint!)

    • Allison

    • Twylarougeau

We are not able to get away for the summer this year due to job restraints. I came up with an idea to pay for a big vacation in the fall, every penny I save using coupons and discounts we are putting into a earmarked account, my husband is matching it from his salary and we will take a family cruise in November. So my relaxing is cutting my coupons and working out the best deals in our area, smiling as I hand Steve my reciepts so I can get his match money.

    • Becky

Most of the family attended and it was a hit, but I am not sure I have the strength to pull another one together. Although, I really did enjoy seeing my family together and I did get a very small amount of relaxation at the park.

    • Jeanne Blackburn

A friend of mine and I are tackling our Bucket Lists this summer, including a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, to go zorbing and indoor skydiving. If you are unfamiliar with zorbing, it is a “sport” where you climb inside a big, clear globe and roll down the side of hills, mountains, etc. For the indoor skydiving, you are put inside a large windtunnel that simulates sky diving without having to jump out of a plane!

    • Jennifer

Quite pathetic, but my hubby and I went out shopping and to dinner with one kid instead of all 3. It was almost like a “date.”

    • Kathryn

We'll go to the beach in N.C. with my parents, my sisters and their husbands and children. We might or might not get in the water; it hardly matters, as the yearly beach trip is really all about food, Scrabble, food, naps, food….

    • mschlich

We have not been able to do much that is relaxing yet this summer. Money is tight, so we probably won't get to take a vacation this year either. A Sunday afternoon at the pool is a nice way to pretend to be “getting away.”

      Lots and lots of reading!

    • Jacksonfam06

As a mother of four beautiful children and the wife of an awesome man, the most fun/relaxing thing I have done this summer was last Saturday with my hubby. We both work to support our family and celebrated our nineth year of marriage last Wednesday! We simply took a stroll downtown, talked and enjoyed each other. We didn't spend a dime but the memories are worth more than money could ever buy! Its not often that we get to spend “quiet time” together and I must say it was quite memorable. Sometimes its the simple things in life that mean the most!

    • vgwagoner

I am looking forward to moving back home and having help taking care of my little one!

I love taking my kids to the pool!! Not always relaxing but fun!!

    • Lhsupermom

Just got back from a relaxing weeekend with my hubby….fishing! We love to fish and spent three days fishing in our little john boat while the 5 kids stayed at home. Romantic? No! But so peaceful drifting around the lake…no cooking…no laundry… Awesome!

    • SarahWr21

The most fun thing I've done this Summer is boating on Lake Murray. There's something about a nice boat ride that takes the stress right out of me.

    • Melissa

Hanging out in the yard, watching the kids run through the sprinklers is about as relaxing as it gets around here. No vacations planned, so we're making the most of it.

    • Chellej_1999

      Go to the beach!!

    • sitting on the beach…chillaxin'!

    • Joy

We love to go to Falls Park as a family.

    • Cmjen99

We are taking our son to the Dominican Republic in July. I plan to kick back in a chair by the pool with my ipod, magazines, a good book, and frozen drink while staring at the beautiful water.

    • mingle411

I am heading to FLA on Wednesday for a long weekend with my twin sister. Just us girls!!! Can't wait!!

    • Cindy H

I would like to hire a babysitter and spend the night with my husband alone for once.

    • Janet

      Long walks on the beach.

    • Dobbs_t

After 3 years of schooling (while working) to retool my career and become a high school teacher, I am finally finished and I plan to take the entire month of July off. For the first time in 20 years of work/mom life I am just going to “be” in July. Coffee in the morning while I do my devotion, afternoons of tinkering around doing the little things that have gone undone and long talks with my teenage daughters are all I am planning.

    • Vickib99

Spending days on the lake with my family and friends. It reminds me of times when I was growing up. Life seems so simple when surrounded by water, trees and loved ones!

    • Amelvincare

I went to a private, Christian school that closed this year. I am attending a reunion for everyone that has ever attended the school throughout its history. It should be awesome to see old friends and make new ones.

    • Ashley

I'm going to Jamaica for my honeymoon!!

    • Neemee1974

Learning how to knit and make friendship bracelets…very relaxing.

    • Kathleen

Last weekend my family and I went floating down the Edisto River is SC. It was so relaxing and fun, and I definitely plan on doing it again.

    • Beth

Our relaxing time so far was the hubby and I getting away to St. Augustine for a few days to celebrate our 13th Anniversary… We stayed in a B&B and our's was a two room…. Living room with bed room… we took naps in the afternoon and slept in every morning… It was wonderful to reconnect minus the 3 kiddos….

    • Jboyd

    • I plan on taking a 3 day vacation to the beach with my husband and friends. We always try to go to a spa while at the beach for some additional stress relief and a gift certificate would really help out the vacation budget!!!!

    • Kaniaestates

My relax time is grocery shopping because I am by myself:) Other than that I plan to swim with my kiddies!!

    • Irishlovee

Head downtown to watch the boats come into port… have a cheap picnic at Forsyth Park in Savannah… end with people-watching (mostly tourists) and good conversation while we wait for this weather to stop being SO HOT! :)

    • Ajmack11

I plan on spending hours at a time crafting–nothing relaxes me more than quiet time to myself creating something.

    • Chantel31

I'm going to take my kids to visit my Mom.

    • tylahevans

Sitting in a hammock! Especially if it is by a river. Listening to nature and swinging the day away!

    • Leslie

Hope to go to the beach before it is ruined by the oil and read a good book. We usually take a vacation to the mountains in the fall and that's when we get a chance to relax.

    • 5glovers

I love my kids, but honestly, the most relaxing thing I will or have done this summer is dropping all 3 off at camp. I was able to spend 3 lovely hours cleaning my house without anyone tearing it up as I was cleaning it.

    • Christi

It will be sitting on the beach while someone else watches my kids (those few minutes will be marvelous)!

    • Lavie

I'm headed out west to Wyoming. Can't wait!!!

    • Momofgandj

I plan on taking a vacation with some friends and no kids. Just a weekend away to relax with some great adult time

    • Rldotter

The funnest thing I've done lately is go to Dallas/Fort Worth and have lots of “me” time! Hubby was working, and I went without the kids and shopped 'til I dropped! It was so needed. Thanks, Jenny!

    • The most fun and relaxing thing to do this summer will to be to go to Edisto beach with family. We will ride bikes, swim, and read lots of books.

    • AnnTaylor

I'm heading out on a cruise.

    • Jennifer E

I'm going to Rehoboth Beach with my parents, sibs and their mates and kids as well as my hubby and kids. I plan to cook a lot while grandma takes care of the kids!

    • Melissa

I just got back from a week long vacation ALONE WITH MY HUBBY!!!

    • quarleywoman

Massage with aroma therapy then home to the whirlpool a cool drink and then beddie buy. Slept like a little lamb. Oh I would love to do it all again:)))))))))

    • mom2c-n-z

My most relaxing day/s this summer will be spent at my parents' home in Santee. The best summer fun is when my husband, kids, and I get to spend time fishing, boat-riding, swimming, and just sitting around visiting with Mama, Daddy, my sister and her family. We all bed down late at night and listen to whispers and giggles until we fall asleep. The adults are the only ones who get 'real' beds; kids all sleep on pallets of hand-sewn quilts and blankets. We awake to the smells of Mama's home-made biscuits and chocolate syrup for breakfast (or if she felt real froggy, the whole smorgasboard of Hutto fixins!) Daddy and the boys would have caught enough fish that morning (or had some pulled out of the deep-freezer as a last resort) to have a down-home fish fry, with catfish stew, and hush-puppies…followed by Mama's sour-cream coconut cake. Yummo! And of course, we all consume gallons of her sweet ice-tea and lemonade. Those are the days!!!

    • Scrapbooknsusan

Today was the last teacher workday. I got my room packed up and moved to a new classroom and then went out for a drink with a coworker to toast the beginning of summer. It was very relaxing.

    • a week with my parents and my daughter… husband and boys had to stay home for ball games :)

    • Jashmay

The most relaxing is enjoying great food and watching the sunset in Cape San Blas FL.

    • Erica

The beach, beach, beach and some fun at the pool.

    • Melissa

Lounging by the pool is the way I love to relax…The spa would be fabulous also!!!

    • Sabrina

I saved my spa gift cert my husband gave me for Christmas and used it right before school got out. Help! I need another pick me up at the middle of summer vacation. Sabrina

    • Kristin

The most relaxing thing I've done is….just sit outside with a nice cold drink and read my book. Being outside makes me so happy!

    • Jennifer M.

In the summer, I love going to get pedicures with my daughter. =)

    • Kwhitaker_81

The most relaxing thing I've done so far is sitting on the back patio after putting the kids to bed and watching the sky grow dark into night & watching the fireflies come out. It was quite relaxing & enjoyable to watch the night sky & ponder on the great creation the Lord gave to us. So often day turns into night and it goes unappreciated. This was a great moment.

    • Mani & Pedi!!!!!!!

    • Jillian418

I live in SW Florida, so I'm planning to spend as much time on the water as possible. Taking the kids up Telegraph Creek in the canoe to see as much native wildlife as possible. I want them to have amazing memories of the nature that we are surrounded with today. Conservation through education!

    • Jennifer

I sneak outside and sit in a shady spot of my garden. Even if it's hot and it's only for a few minutes, I'm alone and it's quiet. Ahhhhh…..

    • Hngreen1023

I know this will sound CRAZY to a lot of people, but spending time in the garden. Not having to listen to the kids or the phone or crazy patients at work!!!

    • lyssibee

Going to family property that is close to the middle of nowhere. It is quiet (except for the cicadas), pitch black at night (except for the stars & lightning bugs) and VERY relaxing. We recently put a hammock in a grove of trees. My favorite is to read a book and sway in the hammock. It's the only vacation we'll be taking this summer, due to tight budget and work schedule.

    • Jennifer G

You would think that being a teacher you would have some relaxation during the summer but no, not with 3 children running around the house. But I do have some relaxing moments when we are camping. I love just to see in my reclining chair outside our camper and read a good book. We used to spend a month at the beach in our camper but due to wonderful budget cuts in the education system I can't afford to do that this summer so we will settle for a weekend here and a weekend there. But that is okay, my girls love it and so do I. Nothing beats camping fun.

    • NCRoseLady

Just breath and be in the moment…grateful I have today!

    • stacey

FUN=vacation in TX with the family to see some great friends RELAXING=any day at the pool, reading a magazine, watching the kiddos swim & have fun

    • Ahamrickrn

This summer our most relaxing planned thing is a trip to a family mountain lake house. We can hardly wait to get there because its in this really small town where life is extra slow and simple. We love it!

    • Christina

One of the most fun things I have done is traveled to South Africa and explored different cities there. Taking a safari, after the initial extra heart beats after hearing lions' roar, the wind in your hair, experiencing the beautiful land-Priceless. Looking forward to spending time with family and friends over the summer.

    • sassyTara

without the kids going to the lake with my book club ladies for a night away. Can not wait!!!

    • The most fun we have had so far is a staycation. We hope to have more before baby #2 arrives.

    • Wendy

The most fun thing we've done is a trip to Disney (but now a massage would be great to recover from all the fun :)).

    • Awbrown3

This summer I plan on going white-water rafting. I'm super scared and super excited all at the same time. My husband and I are going with another couple. This trip will take place on the weekend of our four-year wedding anniversary. What better way to spend all the money we're saving by using coupons!!!

    • Tjernigan

I have not had an opportunity to relax yet this summer!!

    • Dannyboy21

I have two boys (toddler and preschooler) and there is really no relaxation with these tornadoes! So I make my own “relaxation” by having fun with them. My massage is the boys using my back as a road for cars and planes, my cardio workout is chasing them on the playground, my meditation is hiding in a really good, quiet spot during hide and seek so it takes a really long time to find mommy. I'm afraid to tell you how the manicure turned out! =) Even though I am completely exhausted, I am so thankful for two healthy and happy little boys, and wouldn't have it any other way!

    • shickman1

The most relaxing thing we do as a family is a vacation at home..we turn our home into a spa and pamper each other and make our own products.

We're going on a family vacation for 4th of July to Myrtle Beach!! I can't wait! I know it will be VERY relaxing!!

    • Natalie

Well, this will sound sad… but it is actually exciting. Due to going through Dave Ramsey's total money makeover, we have decided to cut out our formal vacations this summer. We are doing inexpensive activities with the kids. The best thing about this giveaway would be the fact that I would have no choice but to use it for myself. With the other 2 giveaways you did, I already had plans of how I would use them for my kids! Thanks for all you do.

    • Amber

I plan on spending most of our days in the pool… :)

    • Amanda Frye

My families plan for relaxing is to go to the BEACH!!! We leave Sat. I love to lounge around on the beach and just read a book.

    • Jivetalkk

The most relaxing thing we've done so far this summer is spend the weekend at the river, complete with lazy tubing, hammock reading and s'mores!

    • I would love to have an opportunity to do anything relaxing! Seeing as how I'm 5 months pregnant and have a daughter that will be 1 in 3 weeks I don't see it happening though. My best chance is probably hitting up the local drive-in theater. :)

    • Imogenenoe

Gone to the beach with my family that helped with the kiddos:)

    • Melindajwood

the most fun thing I plan to do this summer is take my 1 year old on her first vacation (to Sea Island, GA) with my best friends family and her 1 year old! Woo hoo for babies for vacation!

    • MichelleM.

There's not really any plans for us to do anything this summer. Money is tight. My dad is disabled and he only gets care through the VA, so most of his appointments are in Atlanta(which is about a 2hr drive for us.) He is not allowed to drive anymore and my mother never has. My aunt just had a heart attack and she just had 6 stints put in. I just took her at 6am today to have another surgery. Most of my time is spent going back and forth to doctors appointments. I am transportation for my dad, mom, aunt, and sister(who also does not drive due to medical issues.) I also have two kids ages 9 and 5 that take the rest of time. I try to take my kids to the library every week for the summer reading program. (We saw a magician last week). I am blessed that i have my health and that i can help in some way. My husband works from 8am til 9pm almost every day, so a day to relax would be awesome!!!

    • Debbie

We live on a lake & love to spend time outside down by the water. I'd say relaxing in a hammock with a good book and hearing the laughter of my daughter/husband nearby is pretty serene. Thanks Jenny! =)

    • Michelle Young

We are going to the beach in two weeks. My wonderful sister has invited us to come with her and my wonderful brother-in-law. I think the most relaxing thing we are going to do is walking on the beach in the late afternoon. And also playing cards after the kids go to bed!!!

We've been relaxing and playing by the pool…great friends have invited us over multiple times so this is the first summer we have had really enjoying a pool regularly. Hopefully we'll get a great summer vacation destination thrown in as well. :)

    • Njhibbard

Enjoy being with my husband and boys at our community pool after dark floating around looking at the stars and laughing at the funny shapes and objects we see ( or think we do). My father passed away recently, my mom has moved in with us, we have both started new jobs and well… God is definately teaching us alot during this season but He always has a plan for a new day and new hope.

    • Jenjustinadams

Well, I am pregnant so, I am planning on getting a prenatal massage sometime this summer when I am REALLY big and uncomfortable! Then, I will truly appreciate it.

    • christina

Kids are now out of school. For the entire week off we stayed by our pool, all four of us. We just relaxed and took time to talk about everything and anything (usually we are in such a rush, conversations are short). The kids all got along no arguments, me and my hubby were happy, was the prefect week, the most relaxing week all year!

    • Barbj Jolly

    • lisa

With three kids, i am not sure what relaxing means anymore.. Hubby works long hours, so me and the kids run ragged.. Moneys tight this year, so not beach trip… but we will spend much needed family time together camping! Nothing better than being with the ones you love surrounded by the beautiful NC mountains and creeks!!! Campfire anyone????

    • Autumn0229

I would say that we are going to Hilton Head in August….. but to the beach with a toddler is not really too relaxing! My hubby and I are leaving our 1.5 year old with a babysitter for the first time this coming weekend to go see a dinner and a movie for father's day!!!!!!! YAY!! :)

    • Kelly E

This past weekend we went to spend the weekend with my college roommate. Her daughter was graduating from High School. Wow time goes by quickly. Then we went shopping for the fun of it, just like the old days. Hard day at work today. I work in an operating room, today there was no time for breakfast or lunch. Sure could use a nice massage as I have back problems and lifting and moving patients all day really makes my back ache. Thanks for all you do I love your site.

    • Marywkaplan

Working full time with 2 small kids, I hardly ever have time to relax….coupons are my “fun time” :) but I am going to take a long bubble bath sometime soon!!

Each summer we go on vacation with another family to Florida. After several days of sand, swimming and sightseeing, the two Daddies take all the children for a Day at Disney. They get up before dawn and arrive when the gates open, and they play til the park closes. The Mommies get to re-group and spend the day together, while the Daddies and kiddos get a once a year memory-maker!

    • Iluvadeal

Spending the Day at a Spa sounds unbelievable. Away from worries, work and TV!

    • Arabianhorsegirl

I live 20 minutes away from the beach but haven't been able to go yet. I plan on going on my next day off so I can sit in a chair with my feet in the water and read a good book. =)

    • Nicholstisa

A getaway to a hotel, dinner, and a comedy club with my husband–without our children :)

    • Crystal

I have ran several 5K races already this summer in different cities in my state. It is helping me to get in shape and they support great causes along the way.

    • Beth

I will likely go to my mom's while she is at work and the hubby is home with our kid's to have a quiet lunch, read a book and take a nap! Our house is so small right now and noisy with 2 little one's… her's is so quiet!!

    • Drprdh

I get to sleep in when my sister comes to visit from MI! I have a 2yr and 2mo old and no family in the South!!!!

    • DianaY19

I hope to relax on the beach while my kids play in August…if we can find a place we can afford. With my oldest child, she starts school this year so that puts us going in August when the rates are higher..we usually go the week after Labor Day.

    • Laura Knieriem

My son is learning to swim, so we spend a lot of time at the pool.

    • Aprilbpowell

We will be headed to the beach in a few weeks. However, my best relaxation is the half day I will get with just me and a book sitting under an umbrella!

    • Sallcoupons

Went out in the boating fishing with my husband all day while kids hung out with grandparents!

    • Tippey22

A spa day would probably BE the most relaxing thing I would do this summer!!

    • Sprophett

Spend time with my family and NOT wear a watch! I love the freedom from time in the summer! Such a stress relief!

    • Anucreature

The most relaxing thing I have done this summer is sitting with my six week old granddaughter. I could sit there all day and look at her beautiful face.

    • Hmmm, this year we don't get to partake of our annual ritual of a couples massage. :-( That is the one thing that we do to really pamper ourselves as a couple each year. This year we are saving up for a trip of a lifetime but it won't be relaxing. It will, however, be worth it!

    • micmck

    • Sarah

I get to go to my home state and meet my nephew (who will be born any day now) next month

    • steph

spend time at the beach with family!

    • Sandy

I give my kids (4 and 6 years old) an old bottle of body lotion – spread out a sheet and let them play “spa” with Mommy. They get to put lotion on my legs and arms, massage my hands and neck — and I get to sit there, sip an iced-tea and flip through a magazine and let them think they're really getting away with something when I'm the one that's relaxing!

    • colleen

sit down with a good book after my son goes to bed.

    • Robyn

Spending the week with my Mom and sisters while my oldest two are at camp.

    • Heather

      Visited Yosemite!! Amazing :)

    • Melissa H.

I had surgery a week ago on my foot, so the relaxing part of my summer is sitting around and watching bad TV. :)

    • Rachelsd1982

Finally being able to go on that honeymoon with my new hubby! Or at least I wish we could do that.

    • jennifer

Honestly, I don't think I will be getting a relaxing moment this summer! Husband hurt his foot, I'm having surgery in morning, and we're packing to move this fall! (I'm exhausted already, LOL)

    • Carmen

I'm going to the beach and will be reading a book and playing with kids!

    • Lizzyvpoo

My hubby just got back from a 4 month deployment, so we will be heading to the beach without kids =)

    • Amanda Wright

Taking a shower with NO interruptions! :)

    • Kelley Close

We hope to spend the July 4th holiday with family here in town…parade, lunch, naps, and fireworks. Maybe a trip to the beach providing the oil doesn't wash us out.

    • Laura

Visit with my mom and let her take care of her grandkids so I can have a break!

    • Jewels912

We just got back from a trip that introduced our 4 month old son to a lot of extended family. Other than playing with him and grilling a lot, we'll just try to stay cool!

    • Meldez

For July 4th and a couple days following, my sister and I, along with our (combined) 3 kids, plan to go to the beach. We went last year together. She has done this for several years, but last year was the first I joined her. It took a lot of begging on her part, and I reluctantly joined her. I am so glad I did because we had an awesome time.It was so relaxing. I do not go away much because I suffer with severe depression and anxiety, so I find comfort in my house (unfortunately). I struggled again with going this year, but through more persuasion I reserved a room, and I am looking forward to the time away on the beach with my family!

    • Jen

I am going to my moms with my two and four year old. She lives near the beach and even though it's a 10 hour drive, it will be great to go back home. I would love to go on a date with my husband sometime too as it's been at least two years since we've done that.

    • Mcconnell8

I hoping to get a giftcard for a pedicure at my favorite nail place for my birthday—right in the middle of summer!

    • Suziclark

This may not sound relaxing, but it is to me, I plan on running a half marathon in Sept :)

    • MeganV

An out-of-town conference for work… It may be 'work', but its a vacation for me!

    • Ripleyjustice

I plan to go on vacation with my husband for our 1 year anniversary! We will probably go to the beach, and have a wonderfully stress free week.

    • Mauri

We spent the weekend at a cabin in the mountains as a family and the best part about it was having meals outside on the big back porch where we could look at the trees, listen to the creek and birds in the background and just smell the fresh air….it was great!

    • Roz_cooper

Taking 3 teenagers to the beach to go camping! As crazy as it sounds, it was very relaxing. They are great kids and can be trusted totally! My job was made much easier by planning and buying all the stuff we needed ahead of time using coupons and sales etc. When it came time to leave we had everything we needed and used almost all of it! The kids amused themselves, while I sat on the beach or by the tent and read a good novel by lantern.

    • Monica1frazier1

I plan on going to my parents and watching TV and napping while my mom and sister entertain my kids!

    • diane

im actually a massage therapist who NEVER gets a massage! (if you can believe that-no time after work, must get home to kids!) so i would LOVE to get some “me” time!

Hittin' the beach! Sand, umbrella, a good book, and the family! Relaxation at it's best! We are headed there this week! YAY!!!!!

    • Atheus789

The most relaxing time I have is when my family is together. Yesterday we just spent the day playing in the pool. Our house is always a busy one with lots of the kids friends over to play etc. It is so nice when we declare a family day and shut out the world and focus on just us.

    • Redhead31478

A visit to the spa, exercising and vacationing! Wonderful things to do in the summer!!

    • Amt1218

Looking forward to heading to Destin, Florida for a poker run for the power boats. We will be heading there in August and I don't plan on letting the darn oil spill keep me away. Florida, Ms., Ala and the Louisiana gulf coast needs our business!!! It will be a relaxing week with family and friends… oil or no oil!!

    • KelliB

We just got back from the beach…and when our kids took a nap, we did too! Ahhh…

    • Mary

    • Tjodi3

Still trying to figure that relaxing thing out! Being a teacher, my list of projects gets put off until summer. Then I frantically try to complete it between running my three kids to their various camps and activities before school starts back. Would love to have a date night with my husband as well. It has been so long I don't think we even know what a date is. Do I sound desperate? Well, I pretty much am!

    • tori C

    • Scooby

Trying to plan my son's birthday party (maybe at the aquarium?) meets the fun part, looking over the pictures after it is all done and holding onto the memory will be relaxing.

    • Kdpreston

Looking forward to floating around on a pool float as my little ones splash and play in the background.

    • Amanda C.

The most relaxing/fun think I plan to do this summer is to actually make time to lay out and swim at the pool Last summer was so hectic that there was barely any time for sleeping, let alone soaking up some rays! So I am super excited about having & making time to relax in the sun and catch up on some books!

    • Smith5343-7548

Ok so this is really silly but it was very relaxing to me. My husband took both of our sons away for the weekend and I stayed in my PJ's and read all weekend. I never ever eat in my room but I took complete advantage of everyone being gone and ate and read in my bed. I never ever get to do those kind of things.

    • Epotate

I have not had any relaxing time this summer! I need a break! Love your website – Thanks!

    • Jarrodbryson

Gosh I need a back rub.

I plan on moving out of a brand new apartment (Wife and I have been here 1 1/2 weeks) and it's INFESTED with Roaches. My relaxing moment is moving out this Saturday (so thats 2 moves in 2 weeks…packing and unpacking) but heck, it'll be relaxing to GET AWAY FROM ROACHES!

    • Jackieandchristin

We're going to pigeon forge for our 5th anniversary! We just bought a house and have been doing MAJOR renovations, so this will be such a nice relaxing break!

Relaxing at the beach, visiting family and friends!

    • Lohroc

Hanging out at the pool with my hubby and 2 boys.

    • mpotter87

The most relaxing thing I am doing this summer is taking a 8 month old to the beach with my in laws. So NOT that relaxing! HAHA I need a day at the spa!

    • Lorelle

Hmmm. On a budget this year. I will enjoy gardening on my deck and learning about plant propegation, proping my feet up with a glass of wine and watching the sunset behind the trees. The sounds of the frogs and the lights of the lightning bugs evoke memories of childhood! Rescued garage sale finds will become my creative outlet — painting a window pane, recovering pillows and just right hung trinkets will allow me to turn my wooden deck into my summer retreat. It is all good!

    • Jlpowell81

Well…I'd have to say…seeing as I have and 18 month old and one on the way…there is little time for relaxing. However, I'm sure I could rope my husband into a day with my little one in order for me to take advantage of this spa day! That would be the most relaxing by far!!! :)

    • Michelle J

This opportunity would BE my relaxing/fun moment of the summer! LOL ;)

    • TrishB_FL

We are taking our two girls on a nature hike and bird watching trip which should be fun and interesting.

    • Kellyrlogan

Our original plans were to fly to Las Vegas, Nevada and renew our wedding vows, with an “Elvis Impersonator”…those plans changed mighty fast when we lost our home last November, to an electrical fire. We only had enough insurance money to complete the outside (shell) of the house; however, we are slowly but surely finishing the insides ourselves. It's taking every paycheck for building materials but we know in the end, it will be all worth the sacrifice. We should be done before Christmas…so, we can have our first Christmas, in our new home.

    • Stephanie

My husband and I are heading to Cabo for a week ~ WITHOUT the kids! I am so excited!

    • Dana

My husband and I left the 3 kids with grandparents and went for a weekend getaway to Savannah!

    • Bhflood

Camping at Hunting Island in SC was amazingly awesome but the rest of the summer relaxing moments will include my A/C, a book in one hand and a Dr. Pepper in the other with a splattering of at home movie nights with my sweetheart next to me.

    • Racheal

Since I am a teacher my favorite thing to do during the summer is to visit my 90 year old grandma at least once a week. I spend 2 hours driving there and 2 hours back home but it means the world to me.. and her.

    • Nicholsfam1

The most relaxing thing I am looking forward to doing is listening to the waves crashing at the beach and my husband sleeping in the beach chair next to me. He works to hard and does not get a vacation often this is the first in 6 years so I am looking forward to just relaxing in each others company and just breathing. Thanks

    • Britt Tan

I am a 4th grade teacher so anything that does not involve 10 year olds is going to be relaxing ;)

We just go back from a trip to Hawaii and were able to visit the islands of Maui, Kauai, Big Island and Oahu. It was beautiful to see God's creation so vividly in nature.

    • gwenkar

I can really relax when I'm with my husband. He has such a quiet, calm spirit and for this I'm so thankful!

    • Tmcoppedge

The most relaxing/fun thing I have done this year was to plan a weekend getaway with my husband to see a Chris Daughtry concert in Charlotte for our 19 year wedding anniversary. The concert was this past weekend and it was the best weekend we've spent together in a long time. My husband had seen a restaurant review on the Food Network for a place called Barbeque King in Charlotte. We started our time in Charlotte off right by finding the BBQ King and eating lunch there. Since we were out of towners, they let us come inside the kitchen and eat at a little table where all the action was. Then, that evening we walked hand in hand from our hotelto the Time Warner Sports Arena to see the concert. The evening started out with Cavo, then Lighthouse, then Daughtry. We smiled the entire time and either held hands or had our arms around each other. After the concert, we went to the EpiCenter and the Whiskey River. My husband is not a dancer, but he put his shyness aside and took me out on the dance floor for a few spins. We topped the evening off at the Whiskey River with my riding the mechanical bull. It was an evening we will not forget! It was the best anniversary we've spent together. It seems each year of marriage keeps getting better!

    • laura

I got my grey roots dyed…that is about as relaxing as it gets…no kids and someone else washing my hair…

    • Kristie

Since funds are tight we are going to hang out at the beach and just relax with the kids. Don't get a chance to do much for myself since I am a stay at home mom and my husband works all the time.

    • Mommamax

I love to sit in my comfy chair and read. It is relaxing and a nice reward to lose myself in a good book.

    • Last summer, for my birthday, my mom and I went to the city and stayed in a really nice hotel. The next day she surprised me by giving me a spa reservation at the hotel. It was such a wonderful birthday, i would love to repay her by winning this!

    • Alrwalker

Pool – all summer long. Nothing works better for wearing the kids out and ensuring an early bed time.

    • karolyi

I love relaxing with my girlfriends at our favorite tearoom. We used to go there about once a week, but now we have babies….we still go once in awhile though!

    • DavaHodges

I work 52plus hours per week and don't get a lot of time to myself. when I take a couple of my vacation days at the end of the month, I plan on pampering myself at the spa, so this would be a perfect prize for me. I would really appreciate winning it.

    • Diane

Just take a couple of days off work to take my grandchildren to the beach or wherever they want to go.

    • MandyL

My husband and I are going to SanDiego for a week with our 14 month old to visit his Grandma. The flying may not be relaxing, but the time spent with my mother-in-law will be!

    • Bdyer

Well I think the closest thing I will get to relaxing will be my few minutes of peace while the kids are playing at the beach. I have a 9 month old so there aren't too many relaxing moments. I do try to escape when I can with my 12 year old for some mom and me time.

    • Last summer, for my birthday, my mom and I went to the city and stayed in a really nice hotel. The next day she surprised me by giving me a spa reservation at the hotel. It was such a wonderful birthday, i would love to repay her by

    • Couponcrazymom
