            • Kelly

Y'all watch Walmart prices carefully-rarely do I find something cheaper there than at Target or Bilo on sale plus coupon. I was hooked on Walmart til I started couponing and watching sales…now I dont even go there. Probably another reason why Jenny doesnt cover it-b/c its not cheapest!

HELP! I went to Kroger last night, after attending my first southern savers workshop, which was AWESOME!! Jenny told us they had finally made a decision where the coupons that we load directly onto our Kroger card were like store coupons, but the cashier would not let me use my paper coupons because I had preloaded coupons. He said his manager told him we couldn't us both. Is there a policy or something I could take in with that decision so I could talk with the manager or is it a decision store by store?

      • Melinda

I recommend checking their coupon policy online. Some store managers are just picky but if it states it's okay in the policy just print it out and take it with you otherwise you might want to call around if there is another Kroger near you and ask to speak to the store manager over the phone and see what he/she says. This is the one thing I don't like about couponing. I pass two Publix on the way to the one that will let me stack store coupons with manufacturer's. I think it is sometimes just up to the store manager.

      • Erin

How did he know that you used ecoupons? I've never had cashiers pay that much attention. It's really silly, because they're willing to give you the store discount, for which they don't get reimbursed, but not the manufacturer's, for which they will get reimbursed? I would ask them to void those items–and maybe everything else–so they lose the sale altogether. Unfortunately, you don't have much recourse, other than trying a different Kroger. Whenever you contact customer service regarding coupon issues, they stand behind the “manager's discretion.” One thing I would suggest is larger orders. I think people are often too blatant in doing deals. Why subject yourself to such scrutiny? We don't want to put an end to them. You have a better chance of combining ecoupons and paper coupons when you're purchasing more. If they still notice and refuse to accept paper coupons with ecoupons, speak with the manager, letting him/her know that you intend to void the order if you can't use your paper coupons. The loss of a larger sale might tilt things in your favor.

        • maryanne7

It was a big order. What started it was I had a coupon that would not scan and he was manually putting it in and saw an ecoupon for that product. Then when I got to the old spice deal he started looking very carefully. This is the only Kroger in my area, to go anywhere else, even a Publix would require me to drive 45 minutes, so I'm stuck. I tried looking on the kroger website, but it is not specific. Any help would be appreciated.

          • Erin

That stinks, because you didn't even get a choice as to which coupons you wanted to use, since ecoupons apply automatically. Did you speak to the manager? If not, I would, so that you at least know that store's policy. Who knows? Maybe he/she will refund you the value of the paper coupons next time you're in the store. I'd also contact customer service and see what they say. I've had them issue courtesy discounts on my card. From this site and others, I know some people have trouble combining ecoupons and paper coupons, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why. Ecoupons are usually limited, so it's not as if someone's going to be wiping the shelves or making tons of money. And the store gets reimbursed for the paper coupons and the register accepts them, so why does it matter? If you don't have any other stores nearby and their policy is not to accept both ecoupons and paper coupons, you're stuck. You could still try, but just look for less draconian cashiers, and maybe even go when it's busier and cashiers won't have time to examine your order so thoroughly.

      • Karen

I've had the same problem in the past, where they get you is when the item is free and they have to write an amount down on the coupon. They look it up on the receipt and see that a coupon already came off for that product and then won't give it to you again! I too was very frustrated because they don't ever notice unless they have to write in the amount on the coupon! Like others have stated customer service is no help! I just make friends with the cashiers and always go to the same ones. That way when they have to write in an amount I tell them and they trust me. That way they don't look at the receipt at all!

    • k8winn5

There's also prevacid coupons, $10 and $4 coupon, in the parade magazine in the sunday paper.

    • SandraE

The starbucks coupon listed is for Frappaccino 4pks, but the $7 sale is for bagged coffees. Frappaccinos are about $5 reg price, FYI.
Just in case anyone was wondering…

    • Michelle

I didn't have a $5 off Schick Hydro Razor in SS or online SS. Any suggestions?

    • Target also matches competitors prices, take in the publix add so you get the 3 blade for 5.99 and with the the coupons you can get 2 of them free and a $5 gift card or pay a couple dollars for the 5 blade deal:)

    • Brittney

I didn't get the Schick Q in my SS this week! I even got two papers and no Q. Anyone know where I can get one?

      • cmcgee8

I was recently told a newspaper “purchases” those inserts, so if you live in a smaller town you might not get all of them. To get the Schick Q, I ended up purchasing a Houston Sunday paper which had the coupon.

    • This is really great idea to make life easy.Keep it up.
      All the best.

    • donnyandcathy

I can't seem to find the Target printable for the Kleenex Hand Towels $1 off
Anyone see them on the Target website?

      • AmyFMSC

I printed them from the household section of the coupons. There should be twelve in that section and the Kleenex is one of them. If they aren't there, go to the Target website yourself without following the link on SouthernSavers, go to the coupons link at the bottom of the page, and see if you can find it that way.

FYI: I had a really nice Target cashier tonight when I went & bought those. I had two of the printed coupons from their website and two manufacturer coupons for them. The cashier pulled two other Target coupons for the Kleenex off her register and stuck them in my pile. I explained to her that I already had two Target coupons from the website. She said that is okay and that I could use those also! So that was another $1.25 off which made it 73 cents for both! I don't know where the coupons came from (maybe their Flip, Clip, & Save booklet which I don't ever get.)

So, apparently you can stack store coupons on top of store coupons on top of manufacturer coupons at Target!! The register never beeped or anything as she scanned them. AWESOME!!

    • Robin

I went to Target to get the Old El Paso seasoning this am. And it is not on-sale for 33 cents. I went to the service desk to ask when I couldn't find it in their sales paper.

      • Anna

It was not on sale at my Target either and I realized it was not in the sales ad once I looked for it specifically. Maybe this was a regional sale? What did they say at the service desk?

        • Melissa

I believe it is on price cut for .33 not on sale which is why it is not listed in the ad.

    • Robin

FYI- Target's coupon policy is not completely accurate on their website. If a manufacturer's coupon amount exceeds the amount of the item you are trying to use it on, they won't reduce it and let you use it. Therefore not allowing you to get it for FREE. I was told by a manager that a Target store coupon may reduce down to item price, and they would let you use it. So, don't go running to Target with your manufacturer's coupons thinking you will get items FREE, b/c you won't.

      • nicki

I think it might be case by case. Just last night I bought 2 travel size Tides and 2 travel size shaving creams all were less than $1, but I was able to use $1 off each of them.

      • Melissa

That's not true. I get free stuff all the time at Target. I just used a $1.00 manufactor q on the .97 carefree and it was fine.

      • dadmomall5girls

Robin, I have that problem for the first time today, I usually don't have to fight for my coupons to ring up at the register. Today they werent' letting me use coupons that exceeded the amount of the product whether it is only for .99

      • bravo375

I had this exact problem in our local Target store today. According to the coorporate customer service desk, they have to take your coupon and manually reduce the coupon amount to the amount of the item, so you get if for free, just no overage. They said if I have any more problems to give the team member reference # 1-448-074-857 to educate them about the company's coupon policy.

      • michelle

I was able to get Reach floss .97 with a $1 off a Reach product and (2) Benadryl itch sticks ($2.29) with a $4/2 Benadryl Q. I paid .55, which shows a reduction of .03 for the difference in the floss. It's a shame all stores won't do this.

      • gracie1

I had this issue come up at Kroger, although I was able to use my Q's at Target for freebies with no problem. At Kroger, the cashier said that their computer would not ring up if my last Q presented reduced the balance to below zero. He said they could not manually input the Q either, but that I had to buy something to bring the total amount due at least back up to zero. So I picked up a Reese's cup, it rang up, deducted my Q and I owed 9 cents.

    • Meri777

When I purchased two of the Cottonelle wipes today for the deal above, each container had a coupon for $1 off your next purchase. I intend to take those back to Target tomorrow (I've got a return) and use them with the store coupon to make the next two purchases .26 each. I love southernsavers.

    • jenny

Are target sales regional?? I went to my Target today armed with the shopping list and matching coupons and the Gillette men's wash was not 1.99 as posted. It was 2.99 so I didn't get it. I also checked the clearance and there was no Gillette there as well.

Plus the dannon danimals drinks were not 1.89, they were 2.00 and my coupon was not $1/1 but $1/2. I bought it anyway since the kiddies love it, but I was wondering about that.

Regardless of the difference in prices posted, I still ended up getting lots of items for free that I never would have known about if you didn't post them– like the Nivea bath wash and the Benadryl itch sticks. Thanks a bunch! :o)

      • Hi Jenny, I found the danimals for 2.00 too I just told the cashier about them being in the flyer for 1.89 and she adjusted the price. Maybe you can go back to cust. serv. and get the diff back.

      • The Gillette for 2.99 was the 12 oz. I was unable to find any 8oz. Gillette products. Bummer, but I guess that's why Jenny warned us that they are not for the “lighthearted.” lol! My Target doesn't even carry the 8oz. products according to customer service.

      • gracie1

I could not find an 8 oz Gillette either at my Target. :(

Jenny, I have a friend in Michigan that would like to get deals too. Do you know any websites she can visit based on the gorcery stores there? Thanks.

I don't see the Target printable for the shick razors am i missing something?

      • Michelle

It seems that a lot of people missed those. I did and if you read down further, you'll see lots of people talking about missing theirs. I think they only came out in major cities and limited quantities in those major cities. Shame on SS!

FINALLY got my Nivea body wash!!! Total shopping cost $1.61 for the 2 itch sticks (which I have been looking for also) 4 Nivea Body Wash, 1 Tide Travel Size Detergent, and 1 Roll Of Paper Towels!! I have more coupons just have to do separate transactions for the Itch Sticks and the Tide!

    • kgriffin14

I have never done crazy shopping with coupons at target…how many like items can you buy with a coordinating coupon? Thanks!

      • Michelle

You can buy one item per coupon. If you have 2 coupons you have to buy 2 items. However, if you have a coupon that's, say, $2 off WYB 2 items, I've seen people get half off the coupon amount, in this case $1, if you only buy one. I would suggest going to a local coupon serminar to learn the “rules” of couponing, as there are lots of ways to do things differently at different stores. Good luck and have fun!

        • kgriffin14

Thank you! I've been to a coupon seminar but I didn't see anything on Target's website that said if there was a limit of like items you can buy, like HT has their limit set to 3.

Bathing suits on clearance 75% off! I found them for 3.74 minus 3.00 Target printable 1.48 for the top and bottom seperately.

      • Kazzy

I have a $10 off 42 ct and $6 off 14 or 28 ct Prevacid from the Parade. I will be glad to send these to anyone that can use them. Let me know and I can have them in the mail tomorrow.

    • Mama Bird

Target in Marietta, GA VERY PICKY about coupons! Will not accept them for travel sizes, even if coupon does not exclude it or include size restriction. Cashier insisted the carefree 22 ct. liners were travel size and refused to apply coupon. Boo.

      • bravo375

I had this same problem today when trying to purchase the travel size Tide detergent. I called the company customer service number and they said that the store had to accept the coupon, and if they raised any issues to give them reference # 1-448-074-857 to help educate them about the company coupon policy.

      • 11lacy951

I had this problem too, but when I went to customer service they gave me the diff. Also, On here I printed out there coupon policy from there website and I carry it in my coupon binder with me to the stores. That way I can pull it out if there are ever any more problems (which there has not been)

      • Valerie

Try the one on Barrett Pkwy… I go to that one and the one in Acworth on 41. Mostly the one on 41 but they take the coupons you just have to guide them and say “it says ANY” haha!! But they take the coupons just change the price so there is no overage!

      • gracie1

Yes, I had this problem at Cumming, Ga Target. The cash register would not accept the coupon. The cashier said it was because it was trial/travel size. So I pointed out to him that the coupon did not exclude trial size. He said okay, and manually deducted my Qs.

Can't find the Air Wick iMotion or Freshmatic Target Q :( Is anyone using a particular zip. Thanks!

    • CPancake

My local Target has Cracklin' Oat Bran on sale for $3.49 per box. I have a $1.00/2 Q but am wondering if I should wait. I don't remember ever seeing this particular kind of cereal on sale at Publix. Any thoughts?

There were several great clearance specials and markdowns at Target in Decatur, Alabama. I didn't have time to write down the prices because I was on my lunch hour, but I did make a mental note so I could pull coupons later:

All Pantene products on clearance!!! (They were marking them down as I was there. Looked as if most were $3.00 or less)

Dove gift sets (around $7.00 and had body wash, razor, etc.)

Uncrustables- Honey Peanut Butter and one other variety

Bertoli meals- several varities (there is a $1.50 off Target coupon in either February or March's Family Circle magazine which made them under $3.00)

Archer farm frozen meals (like Bertoli)

      Kraft block cheese (around $2.00)

California Pizza Kitchen 12″ $4.99 (found $1.00 off blinkie at Kroger for these)

does target accept other stores coupons? the printable lysol coupon says it is only valid in dollar general stores?

    • KristenT

Just got a bunch of great deals at Target…for starters I finally got the Off Clip On repellent- with Q's were $2.49 each- Got the Airwick I-motion- for FREE!! (Target had a web coupon a while back for $2, then used the $4 Q from paper) Motrin PM for FREE!!!, Nexcare Bandages for $0.29, And 12 pieces of kids clothing for $2 each….Great deals this week!!

    • beth

At Target today the cashier was training a new cashier. The customer ahead of me had lots of coupons. (I only used one store coupon for clothes.) The cashier covered the left side of the bar codes of the all of the coupons before scanning, stating that “It helps the coupons scan easier.”
I've never heard of this before or seen this action. Is this becoming common and what does it accomplish?
      Thanks, Q friends!

      • michelle

It keeps the laser on the scanner from picking up the numbers on the longer barcode that most places do not use. It only scans the UPC code when they cover up the longer barcode that isn't needed.

    • noahcat

I just got in under the wire at Target they were resetting tags for tomorrow. I got 3 Tide and 2 Dove trial sizes for free. 2 Motrin pm for free. 1 box of kids bandages for $0.27 and 2 Lysol wipes. Total was $2.61. If I had not known better I would have just given up when the coupons did not go through. Instead I politely explained that corp. said to simply adjust the prices and hand key them. Thanks for all the great info Ladies!

    • Jenean

I went today, to get the Schick razors. When I checked out, the cashier wouldn't allow me to use both of my Target Qs “since I was getting the $5 gift card.” I was able to use the manufacturer Q and one Target Q. Any ideas if that's accurate or what I could do if something like that happens again? I looked at the coupon policy online and it doesn't seem to cover this.

I can't find the Old El Paso coupon. Is there a zipcode I can use that will make it show up?
