Can anyone tell me if these really work? I was thinking of buying the tomato one.

      • Yes, it really works. We had the tomato one and it was doing great until a storm knocked it off.

Mine did not work very well at all last year, but, it may be because of the plants I used, I bought early girls.

        • Ginger

Early Girl is my go-to tomato variety. Except for a variety of heirlom roma whose name I can't remember, Early Girl is the most dependable producer I know of.

      • Snowski824

These did not work for us! The tomato vines were leggy and the tomatoes were tiny. I threw mine away.

My grandmother tried the tomato one after my grandfather (the gardener) passed away….she go a couple scrawny tomatoes and ended up tossing it after awhile. It was hanging in a great spot and she took care of it as instructed. Not sure what the issue was.

We've had Topsy Tomatoes for the past two summers. It was fun to watch them grow, and we got lots of tomatoes.

      • MichelleM

Mine worked good. We hung it outside in the sun and water it once a day real good, and so far we have gotten a decent amount of tomatoes, but I think it depends on the type of tomatoes you plant, which is why some people have problems!! :-)

      • They do work just not great, Cherry tomatoes did the best. Reg. size were ALWAYs small.. THENNNNNN tthHorn worms found my yard and they came back the following year, So I just stopped.. I did it for 3 years…

    • I found topsy turvey tomatoes and strawberries for $4.99 each at ROSS, AND they had hot peppers and hummingbird hangouts for $2.99

      • Jesslynn41

        I love Ross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone know how to undo a woot registration… I got in there and read their info, and while I'm sure they were trying to be funny, I just didn't care for some of their references about ouji boards (proud to say, I don't know how to spell that) and religious zealots… just not my idea of a company I want to do business with. But I couldn't figure out how to get outta my registration…. (Hotel California????)

I've been Wooting since October of 2010. They really are a great company. You can buy up to 3 items and pay only $5 shipping for all of them. Even if it's a 42″ television. You could buy 3 of them an only pay $5 shipping total. They always make it right if you have a problem, too. Some of the things they say ARE just trying to be funny (which I don't care for a lot of it, myself), but I just overlook it and concentrate on the awesome merchandise. I've spent as little as $8 for 3 children's items to put in my “gift” closet. Items that probably cost $12 to $15 each retail. I'm not trying to dissuade you, but thought you'd want to hear from someone who has been a loyal customer to Woot for well over a year. I check them every single day! :-)
If you still want to cancel your account, you'll probably have to email Woot directly and have them do it.

          oops…I meant October of 2009.

These require more attention and watering than traditional plants. If you have difficulty with a garden, this won't be any more productive for you. Read the reviews at Woot and Amazon.

      • MichelleM

Our is great (no extra care needed)! We hung it outside and water it once a day, and it has grown a lot of tomatoes so far. :)

    • Reymannkids

      Tomato… sold out!

    • 5trotters

Jenny, Just thought I'd pass along the deal I found on the 'Handy Trends' brand of tomato planters today . They are the same style as the Topsy Turvy & were at our local Maxway store for $2.50 each. Maxway is part of the Roses chain. I'm not sure if they'd have them there also but thought it was worth mentioning in case anyone is local to these stores.

      • Ginger

Also, watch your Big Lots. A few weeks ago, mine had these for 3 0r 4 dollars, I think.

      Sold out =(

    • Lbooth169

If you are near a Big Lots go there. They had pepper, strawberry, and tomato ones on clearance for $3. They were last year's version, but I didn't care. I grabbed some of them to try. :)

    • Tjlocklair

At Rose's they have them for 2/$5

    • Publixshopper

The water globes things you buy at walmart or dollar general work really good with these. Only way mine looked good and produced. They use A LOT of water.
