Is the 5 rr on $25 before or after coupons and other rr?

      • Jenny

It is after all coupons and RR, your total needs to be $25. (Or that’s how it worked last year).

        • big john

jenny i spoke with my manager he said he wasnt sure since they would still get their money even after coupons. i plan on trying it using rr fromprivious weeks making sure to buy things that will spit out rrs. so we will see early on first day of four day sale.

        • Melissa

I am pretty sure I got the $5RR AFTER all coupons last year…it was nice, because you’d get things like the aspirin, which were on a HUGE sale with a store coupon…it would be $25 before the coupons, but PENNIES after the coupon & produce a $5RR.

        • Courtney

i went to my local walgreens this morning, and the deal is for $25 *before* coupons! so exciting!

          • Lisa Marie

I got the $5 RR even though I only spent $1.01 after coupons!

    • Katie

The link for the Kleenex Q takes you to the Kmart site, and when printed, it says “Redeemable at Kmart.” Will this still work at Walgreens?

      • Jenny

It will. It will work anywhere (I used mine at Rite Aid last week.)

      • meg

As long as a coupon says manufacturer’s, it SHOULD be taken ANYWHERE.

        • Tracie

I have had a Manufacturer coupon with the Target logo handed back to me at least a dozen times. This has happened to me at WalMart, Publix, Rite Aid and Wags. If the cashier sees the Target logo they freeze and insist that is not a Manufacturer coupon.

Any suggestions on how to handle this?

          • Ginger

I’ve actually taken a black marker and neatly colored in the store logo on MANUFACTURER coupons. I don’t see that being fraudulent because it clearly says manufacturer and not “store” coupon. Most of the time, cashiers are so busy, they haven’t noticed. Good luck.

    • There are also Theraflu store coupons
The Healthy Savings boolet has a $2/1 one, there’s a $2/1 Sugar free Theraflu one in the diabetes booklet

Also, last year, my $5 rr printed on my before coupon total. I remember b/c I was shocked when it popped out. I wasn’t expecting it.

    • There is also a $1/2 Nabisco coupon in the diabetes booklet good on Wheat Thins.

      **Deal Idea**
Buy: (5) Wheat Thins $2 ea
      Use: (5) -$1 off SS 11/8
      -$1/2 Wags q = $2
      Total Due: $3
Get Back: $3 RR, Makes it free!

you’d have to get 4 wheat thins to use the wags q, but the fifth box could be ritz or something else

      • Courtney

when i did this deal a few weeks ago, the wags $1/2 q took off $2.50 for every 5 boxes i purchased. even better deal!

        • Mine did not- it only took off $2 when I purchased 5 boxes.

    • Julie

I’m new to Walgreens and trying to figure it out(seemed complicated when I went today- I totally confused myself and the cashier!) I have 2 questions:

      1. Many of the reward items did not have a tag on the shelf listing the “deal.” Is this because it is just before the new weekly sale, or is this common?

      2. When I asked, the cashier told me that the nivea lip balm was on sale for .99. However, this was not listed above the product or in the weekly add. I only knew about it from this website. Is there somewhere else that I could find it? I know that sales can vary between cities (ie. I’m trying to avoid getting to the register and realizing that an item is actually not on sale).

      • Stephanie

I had this same problem as I typically do not shop on Saturdays. I had my lists all planned out and got there and nothing said the correct prices or the RR. I grabbed my store circular, verified the dates, and then was assured by my checking that I was correct. Turns out, Saturday is when the clerks all go through and take off previous week’s deals. I was also informed at both Walgreens and CVS that if you shop on Saturday you can get sale items and RR from both the previous week’s circular and the following week’s circular. Hope this helps!

Thank you Jenny for all your hard work. This is saving myself, my husband and our 7 kids a TON of money!!! Your site is the easiest to understand by far as well as the most comprehensive. Thanks for all you do!!!

        • Julie

          Thanks, Stephanie!

    • ashley

Can someone please tell me if the Nabisco Rebate is a new one(second one)? I just sent off my Nabisco Rebate but it was for what I though ended November 30th.

      • Ashley,
The first rebate was valid 10/01/09 – 11/30/09 request must be received by 12/15/09.
The second rebate register receipts dated between 12/01/09 and 01/31/10 with date(s) and price(s) of all 10 items from the participating products (full list available at http://www.nabiscocrackers.com).
I am about to send off my first one.

      • Sherry

Yes there is a new rebate that started 12/1/09

        • Jennifer

So if you did the first one, you can still do the second rebate? Is anyone sure, this is not how I understood it. I thought it was one rebate per household regardless of which time period you did.

    • If you do buy 5 one the Wheat Thins, the Diabetes book will actually take off $2.50. A couple weeks ago I bought these and used the coupon thinking it would only take off $2, but it took off $2.50.

Also, if you need AlkaSeltzer Plus you can get $4 off it which should allow you to get it pretty cheap. Check http://thecouponhigh.blogspot.com/2009/12/theraflu-6-packets-liquid-8.html for how.

      • YMMV- when I did this, it only took off $2. (bought 5 boxes of Wheat Thins)

    • Jennifer

If I use rr’s to pay for two items that have the same manufacturer but different from the manufacturer of the rr’s, will I get all of the rr’s? For example, I have $6 rr’s from P&G and J&J, so if I buy Triaminic, theraflu, conair and stayfree would I still get the rewards from all of those? I don’t know if any of them have the same manufacturer but I’m sure they aren’t J&J or P&G. Hope that isn’t too confusing.

      • Jenny

As long as you don’t pay with a RR from that manufacturer you shouldn’t have any problems.

        • Julie

So are you saying that if, for example, you have 2 RR from P&G from buying dental floss you can not buy anything P&G with those 2 RR (or just not more of the same dental floss)?

          • Cindy

I believe you can buy another P&G product, just not the same one. I used a RR from a Venus razor to buy a Fusion and vice versa.

            • You got lucky! The P&G RR’s specifically state they are not valid on the purchase of a P&G item and almost always will cause a new rr not to print.

            • Courtney

didn’t work for me. last week i used a rr from the toothbrushes to buy a fusion razor. no rr printed for me! boo :(

    • Lynne

Has anyone had a problem with using coupons and rr in the same transaction? I just returned from Wags, and it was a nightmare! I tried to buy the contact solution with a mfg coupon, then use my rr from a different transaction to pay, and the cashier told me that I could only use one coupon per transaction. The register kept beeping at him when he tried to scan my rr for payment. So, I ended up paying way too much out of pocket because I could only use “one coupon” per item I was buying. Also bought 3 pks of TP and had 3 mfg coupons, then couldn’t use any of my rr to pay??? Ended up taking home $10 worth of rr, but I’m not sure about trying to reuse them. HELP!

      • Melissa

Yes, it is true…you can not use RR as cash at Walgreens like you can use the CVS ECBs…ONE coupon per item. If you have 3 items, and you have a coupon for them all, you have to find a “filler” item to use your RR in that transaction. It will usually work out to your advantage to find something less than the RR so you can use it.

      • Basic rule of Walgreens. Look at your rr- it’s a “manufacturer coupon” and coupon rules are that you can only use one manufacturer coupon per item. If you try to use an rr and a mq on a one-item transaction, you will not be able to. Hence why people use “fillers” like $.10 pencils. It covers your other manufacturer coupon.

        • Cindy

Just make sure the number of items your are buying does not exceed the number of coupons and RR’s you have. Example: If you have two coupons and one RR, then you must have at least three items in your transaction. Like was stated earlier, you might have to add a cheap “filler” item to make it work out.

    • Crystal

If I am purchasing a B1G1 deal (two items) can I use two coupons for the items?

      • Cindy

Yes, if the B1G1 is offered by the store.

    • Carla

My walgreens has All 2/7.00 on the front page. Wasnt there a 2.00 coupon in this weeks insert?? Didnt know if I maybe was looking at something wrong. 1.50 All 32 load after coupon.

      • cindy

There is a 2.00off ALL coupon in 12-06 RP

      • Rhonda

Yes, the All is on sale 2/$7 and you can use the $2/1 coupon making it $1.50 each. This is also the same for Snuggle Fabric Softner in my area.

    • Dianne

Does anyone know how the hair care products RR works? I noticed that the sale today has a tag on each item separately and says the RR will print with purchase of that item – like headbands or elastics. Just trying to figure out if I bought both items, would I get RRs for both?

      • Mina

You could if you bought them in separate transactions and did not use the RR from the first one. If you purchase them in the same transaction, you would only get one because they are both items in the same offer.

    • Jennifer

      Can I use two mq’s for b1g1?

      • Jennifer

I really depends on the store. There is a Walgreens I go to that will allow, but the other one down the street will not. It doesn’t hurt to try.

    • Are there any coupon friendly Walgreen’s in the Birmingham, AL area? The manager – Nicholas at The Vestavia Hills Walgreens has me like I never want to shop in Walgreens again! I do not want to support any store where I am not welcome. If you know of any coupon friendly Walgreens, please tell me where in the Birmingham area. Thank you.

      • B

The one on Hwy 280 is NOT!

      • Ryann

I have yet to find a coupon-friendly Walgreens in the Birmingham area!

      • Bobbie

The cashier’s in cosmetics at the Forestdale store are nice and mgrs at Gardendale store are super nice. Or so I have found.

        • Bobbie

Just had it with the mgr at Forestdale. I’m going to have to start writing on each RR what I received it for because you can’t tell on some of them what it was for. Also if you use the $5.00 on the 25.00 purchase and you purchase 25.00 more and use it it will not print another RR for 5.00 on the 25.00. I don’t think some of the mgrs even know how it works so how do they expect us to. But I am still learing. Think I will talk to corporat tomorrow. I’ve had it with Wags.

          • Mina

That’s right. Just like most other RR’s, the HDRR does not roll.

          • Mina

Oh, and I always write the product along the narrow side of mine. It makes it easy to avoid accidentally using them on the wrong item.

            • Bobbie

I purchased the Neutrogena for Men yesterday and it said underneath the rr amount “thanks for the purchase of neutrogena”. Over in very small letters it had J&J and po box to send it to. Is this a J&J product. Nowhere on the box could I find anything that said J&J. Guess I will have to research this out. Still very upset with their system.

      • Lisa

The one in Centerpoint and the one on Chalkville mtn Rd in Trussville are both very friendly! I’ve talked to the manager at the one in Centerpoint and he is fine with multiple transactions, just go to the cosmetic counter to do it…they are all friendly and help out as much as I ask them to!

      • Kay

The one on Hwy. 31 in Hoover is not friendly to those who use coupons. I don’t understand why Walgreens has the rewards program if they don’t like for people to use it.

    • LindaB

Plant City, FL Thonotosassa Rd.-Last week I bought one item…Northern Bath Tissue 9 ct. and had 1 IP [internet printable]coupon. The cashier told me it was a copy. WHAT?!@#%??? I go there occasionally with IP’s and have had no problem and now they are saying I copy coupons! (I NEVER HAVE & NEVER WILL DO ANYTHING ILLEGAL WITH COUPONS)With a line of customers behind me I waited to talk to a manager who also told me that they don’t take copied coupons. I tried to explain about coupon websites where you can get at least 2 coupons for items and she wouldn’t have any of it. They both thought that a computer generated coupon was a ‘copied’ coupon. I showed her the Veri-sign on the coupon and she finally said “We’ll take it THIS time but not again.” I replied back just as snippy, “No, you will take them EVERYTIME!” Customers were uneasy behind me but I stood my ground with these two power-tripping undertrained WALGREEN’S employees. They lost my prescription business of 10 years in a few minutes because of two coupon illiterate employees. I buy 7 prescriptions there monthly which I am now moving to CVS where the cashiers are friendly, helpful and appreciative of my time and money. They know coupon shoppers are here to stay and they have been trained to know that they make more money off of coupon savvy shoppers because they are paid for EACH manufacturer coupon plus an extra .08 cents per coupon. (Which helps their profit margin.) Hats off to CVS on James Redmond Parkway in Plant City, FL and to Manager Tom for training his employees correctly. They know how to value the customers that come into their store!
BYW Walgreens Corporate is getting an email from me too!

      • Amy

Being in the pharm business it is a dirty little secret that Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and so on are highly over priced. If you have a Costco close by they are by far the cheapest. If not, look in to your local mom and pop pharm. They are usually very competitive! If you have a script that you find at another place that is cheaper, remember that most ALL pharms will price match. Hope this helps! :) It’s nice to see another Floridian on here!

        • SC Susie

I agree, Mom and Pop pharmacies are a well kept secret. No lines, great staff that know you by name, competitive pricing – it’s their specialty. Only go to mass retailers and box corner pharmacies in a 24 hr emergency. Would not trust my meds to anyone else but my local guy!

      • Brittany

I shop at that same walgreens. Though I have never had such a terrible problem I have noticed that they are not helpful or wise about helping customers use coupons. They are making money from all us couponers. Why do you think the started putting out 4-day ads with free or money makers. Unfortunately, that memo is not making it to the store level staff. Manu. coupons are FREE MONEY, for us and THEM!!

    • The Blue Bell Ice Cream wasn’t on sale in my local paper (Anderson ,SC). Edy’s Ice cream was on sale though. But Ingle’s has Blue Bell ice cream on sale for $3.98 each this week and I used a $1.00 off printable coupon from their website to make it $2.98.

    • Julie

Where do I find a “published” version of the “4 day sale” add? It was not listed in my paper, and it is not on Walgreens.com. Will it be in the Wednesday paper?

      • Joanne

        was wondering the same thing

        • just me

Last week, mine was in my newspaper and also in the front of the store with the other circulars. However, NONE of the deals were marked on the shelves, so I that made it a little harder but still worth my time!

    • Jessica

Can anyone tell me where I can get a “Healthy Savings” coupon book? Is this still available, or is it a past coupon book that they no longer give out? Thanks!

      • Susan

I asked at the pharmacy, and they had them.

        • Momma C

THe current Healthy Savings booklet does not have Triaminic.Help!

          • Courtney

there are 2 healthy savings coupon books. one looks just like the december coupon book. the one you need looks more like a pamphlet and has a pic of a family outside in a fall setting. it says “more than $30 worth of savings inside” on the cover. good luck!

    • Last year at my store, the $5 RR came out for the $25 before coupons IF the cashier pressed the subtotal button before scanning the coupons, and therefore bringing the total under $25 when the total button was pushed. That’s what I’ll try for this time as well… we’ll see if that still works this year. I just wanted to put it out there in case it helps anyone.

      • Sloan

can you explain this a little more please? Should I ask my cashier to press the subtotal button before they start scanning my coupons/RRs?

        • Ginger

Okay, this makes sense. Thanks, Kisha.
To SLOAN: Yes, that’s what she’s saying. Wait for your cashier to subtotal, and THEN hand over your coupons. Hope it works!

      • Brandi

I’m waiting to hear how the $25 total BEFORE coupons is working for anyone??? I’m planning on shopping tomorrow and would much rather do it that way if possible and still get the $5 RR … thanks in advance for any response!

        • Bobbie

I got the $5. from 25.00 purchase but she got a subtotal and then I started using mfg & RR’s.

          • Sarah D

thanks to all of you for explaining how to get the $25 BEFORE coupons – will ask the nice lady (Margaret) at the cosmetics counter to do that the next time…wish I had known that before or my 67% savings would have been over the top!!!!

        • Courtney

worked for me, too. my cashier gave me a subtotal each time and then i started handing over my q’s. did three transactions and spent $.81 out of pocket total and still got three $5 holiday rr.

        • Brandi

    • Donna S

I didn’t receive any of the candy coupons in my insert :(

      • I didn’t get the Schick razor coupons! :(

        • Tiya

You can go to walgreens.com and with the ads they have a section for coupons. I printed the Schick and Chinet coupons.

    • Sam

For the Triaminic deal, I was not able to use the $3 manu. Q for Thin Strips from today’s paper with the Healthy Savings $2 store Q, so I went back and tried it with the liquid medicine ($2 manuQ from today’s paper), and it still beeped the store Q. The manager somehow overrode it to give me the deal, but wouldn’t do it for the free deal with the Thin Strips. Is that Walgreens policy? I wasn’t sure, and wasn’t upset as it was still a moneymaker, but now I am curious.

      • big john

having same issue with the triaminic store q as well tried at 2 stores did not work at either. both managers over rode but to much hassel. note i did with both stips and liquid but man q;s are working not store q. so if you use 2 of the 3 off thin strips man q’s it is a 1 dollar money maker.

      • Jennifer

Did you have a filler item so you would have three items for three coupons? I did this deal with the strips and a filler item and mine worked out great.

      • You shouldn’t need fillers for Wags coupons. These Healthy Savings coupons books are the problem. At some stores they are not working. Beeping every time. No one is sure why.

        • Sam

I went in today at a different Wags during a slow period (2 pm), and the very nice manager in Miami Shores (Wallace, I think her last name was) refunded me $4 so that I could get the $5RR for free, after the Store Q beeped during my initial transaction. It was a Chrismukah miracle!

        • Mina

The “why” is because some stores don’t have the HSB codes programmed into their registers. Just like some don’t have the CAB q’s programmed. The managers can get them added to their systems.

You always want them to scan your manf coupons then the store ones, I did triaminic dial like 4 times each time for free and got $5 rr on each one

      • Tausha

FYI – Coupon order is a MUST on this. You need to hand over your mfg coupons FIRST, then give them the store coupon. It works this way but NOT if you give the store first. (don’t ask, just trust me on this one) Walked out last night with the transaction. Total due: $0, RR Printed: $5, free diapers: priceless :-)
Tried first in pharmacy and gave wrong order -oops! Said don’t worry about it and walked to cosmetics (couponing worker there – YEAH!) and it worked just fine.

      • Dixie Pixie

I have the Healthy Savings Booklet(offers good 11/29-12/26), but can’t find the Triaminic Store Q in there. :(

    • Momof2 (Greer)

Did anyone in the Greenville/Greer/Spartanburg area have the $3 Triaminic q in their paper?

      • ashley

Just finished cutting coupons not long ago and didn’t see any Triaminic

      • Maxine

Try your local newstand. The coupons were in the State Paper. Hope this helps.

    • I 2 boxes of Kellogg’s Corn Pops and 2 boxes of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes for $2.96. They were $1.99 each and I had a coupon for $5/4 boxes. The cashier wasn’t sure about the coupon since it had Target on it but then she got the manager who still wasn’t sure but said if the register took the coupon they would take it. I also got a catalina mq for $1.50 off three more boxes with a later expiration date. Yeah!

    • Jess

FYI – I was told by a Wags employee that they will not be posting the sale prices on the shelves for any of the 4-day sale items because they are such short sales.

      • My store had the tags up. The BA told me that they got them late though- they were supposed to receive them from corporate on Tuezday, but they didn’t get them until Thursday, so they were up late. The shelf tags arrive at the store with the sales flyers.

    • New to couponing, especiallly at Walgreens. Where do I find the $2 off Triaminic store coupon (will take $4 off)? Also, where do I find things like the diabetes booklet and the flu booklet? Thanks!

      • Sam

Generally I find the Walgreens coupon booklets in the back near the pharmacy; sometimes you can ask the pharmacy clerks to make sure. Rarely I’ve seen them at the front of my store.

    • Rebekah

I was wondering if anyone has tried to figure out which store has the best deal on these Reese’s $1/2 and B3G1F. Can anyone check behind me on this?
      $1 Q
      CVS = 2/$5 – $1 = 2/$4
      RiteAid = 2/$5 – $1 = 2/$4
      Wags = 2/$5 – $1(q) = 2/$4 + $1RR

      CVS= 2/$5 + 1/$2.50 = 3/$7.50 + 1/$0 = 4/$7.50 ($1.88/bg)
      RiteAid= (same as CVS)
Wags= (same as CVS) but you get $1RR correct?

I want to use the $1RR on the Stayfree pads to donate to Harvest Hope. Is this RR tha prints for this only for food because I bought food items? Do you know if I could turn around after purchasing the Stayfree pads and use that $1.99 on some more Stayfree pads?

I hope I haven’t confused anyone. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

      • Misty

I would do it at Wags, but the RR will only print 1 time. You could use the B3G1 Q as well as 2 $1/2 Q. That makes your total 4 bags for $5.50, plus $1 RR makes it 4/$4.50. Is that right? Someone correct me if I’m wrong. I have been sick for 3 days and am a little delirious!

    • Rebekah

I was also wondering if anyone in the Cayce, SC area was looing for the novelty pen/pen for 4/$1 L8. I was looking for these to and hoping theya re glitter pens so I can write my names on the to from tags for Christmas. Please let me know if yall find any. thanks!

    • Carolin

I know that this posting is for Walgreens, but I didn’t know where to put this. I went to Hallmark tonight after work to use my $5 off coupon from the Oprah magazine. I was so excited. I paid 32 cents for 3 Christmas cards. The cashier told me that a lady came in with over 20 of these coupons. The cashier asked her how she got so many. The customer told her that she goes around to the different stores ripping out the coupons from the magazines. I’m so frustrated that couponers would take away from other couponers.

      • Rebekah

        i completely agree

      • Lynn

        That is so rude. JMO..

      • It is rude. I shop Gymboree and they have coupons in mags and people will go through the whole pile of mags to rip out those coupons. (insert roll eyes).

      • Mom to Dyl

I use coupons from magazines that I am about to buy all the time…like taking the coupons for .50/1 off All You out of the the issue i am about to buy all the time. However, taking from someone elses purchase is just wrong!!!

      • debra

I was reading your comment about the hallmark coupons and that lady going around ripping them out of magazines, that is stealing. I don’t know how she gets away with it, she needs to be reported. This really makes it hard on the honest people.

    • Sam

For the Nabisco cracker deal, can I buy 10 boxes at once and still get two $3RR?

      • Nikki

You will have to do the transactions seperately and you cannot use the $3 register reward you received from your first cracker transaction to pay for your second cracker transaction. If you do you won’t get the register reward the second time. If you have another register reward that is not from a nabisco deal then u can use that one. Walgreens is a little tricky.

        • Sam

          thanks nikki!

    • Kenya

I’ve gone through two newspapers twice (in Chattanooga,TN)with no sign of Triaminic coupons…sigh. My SmartSource simply did not have it! Did I look in the wrong place?

      • Terri

Kenya, I live in Chattanooga too. I have some extra Triaminic coups. My email is terrib6@yahoo.com. Let me know if you need them.

    • Jennifer

I was told that my RR would not print if I used a Man. coupon with the item. Such as the $2 off Renu coupon. Has anyone else had that issue?

Has anyone tried this morning to see if the extra $5 is before or after all coupons are deducted? Thanks!

      • Sam

That happens sometimes when I check out at the beauty counter register — not sure why. The cashier told me what you heard, but then it worked fine at the main register….

      • SC Susie

Just used the $1.00 Man. coupon for the Stayfree pads (available from link above) and received the $2.00 RR for that item as well. The add says $1.99 but it prints $2.00. That’s a deal!! Limited to one offer per transaction. (Spartanburg, SC store)

I always use the cosmetics register, they are always nice and patient, and always print my rr, even if they don’t print, they make them print with no problems.

    • Kendra

My store (Tarpon Springs, Fl) is not participating in the 4 day sale except for the 5RR on $25. I did however find out that they used the PRE-COUPON total. I spent $15 after coupons (would have been much less if they were participating) and still got my 5RR. I also got 2RR plus I have a $2Manufactrers coupons for Huggies and a $1 for Huggies (store coupon). At 12.49 for a small package I can use all coupons (with fillers) and spend close to $3 for diapers. I love great deals on diapers because we are forever buying them! Anyway, make sure you check with your local store to see if they are participating in this sale.

      • Courtney

starting on 12/13, the huggies will be on sale for $8.99 with a $2 RR. i have 6 of the $2 mfc q’s and the $1 wags q. i plan on stocking up!

      • Mina

The short ad areas that didn’t get the 4 day sale won’t get the sale prices, but the RR’s for the items, as well as the HDRR have been printing.

        • Courtney

the huggies on sale here next week are not on the 4 day sale. they are in the regular weekly flyer. these regional variations are a pain!

    • Laurie

Just a note – my Walgreens does not normally carry the Men’s Neutrogena, so they had a limited stock.

    • Marsha

My order was less than $25 after coupons and the $5 coupon printed. I did ask her to total it before she took off the coupons (I just told her I wanted to make sure I was above $25 with my items). Turned out great…they had everything in stock. However nothing was marked for the $4 day sale and for the scuni accessories she had to just scan some to find out which ones were ringing up on sale. But she was very nice about it and these sparkly butterfly clips qualified that my girls will love in their stockings.

    • Kim

My store in NC gave me $5 RR after the $25. I still ended up paying more than 50% less with all my coupons and $9RR!

    • Adrienne

I totally agree, I was in publix the other day and there were peelies on the Dove chocolates, I bought two bags and used the peelies, went back the next day and had to dig through them to find one with the peelie, all the peelie’s were gone on about 20 bags and there was one left. That is so rude!

    • N

One of the Greenville, SC couponers teaches classes and encourages couponers to go through the store and take all the peelies/blinkies/wine tags when they aren’t purchasing the products. :( That’s so wrong!

      • nancy

I do take blinkies but not the others Unless I buy them.

        • Vanessa

And according to Jenny, you are only supposed to take two of the blinkie coupons-that is why is takes a long pause after two. It is assuming you will walk away if it does not spit out immediately.

      • Rebekah

I think that is wrong too. Yes it is nice to have a coupon but if you are not going to use it what is the point of stealing someone else’s savings? I mostly will only take a “blinkie” or 2 for like Mt. Olive pickles or toliet paper b/c I know I will probably use them. But yeah I agree that is not right.

    • Momof2 (Greer)

I had a great morning @ Walgreens. I was able to pick up a brush, some plaque picks, 4 packs of pads, hair color for men, contact solution & with all of my rr’s I was able to get my son the CD player boombox that was on sale. My final price for that was $2 & tax & I still have $9 in rr’s left. Another gift that can be marked off the list. 2 more to go.

Went to Target & was able to get my dd some shirts for $1.50 ea (on clearance) & also got a $10 gc for buying the keebler cookies. Great trip there also. Oh yeah & 2 more stocking caps for my ds because he keeps losing them. I keep telling him that it is going to be a cold winter for his head if he loses 1 more cap. (Just kidding but he doesn’t have to know that)

Walmart-They have kids shirts on sale for $3 ea. Got some for my ds & dd.

Sally’s beauty supply store..I was able to get a $1 off my favorite hair product. Not a lot but I was happy.

Went to Cato’s today & was able to splurge alittle on a new top. This has been a great day!!!

    • Margaret

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I went to walgreens last week and bought the contact solution that was 7.99 with 7.99 back in rewards dollars, I also bought a 29 cents russell stover candy. I used two 2 dollar reward dollars bringing my total to 4.49. Ok so that was fine but then I didn’t get the RR. I fought with the manager for at least 30 min. because she said that if the transaction total was not more than the 8 dollar reward I was getting back, it wouldn’t print. I saw no where that it said this. Has anyone else had this problem, and what should I do? The RR just didn’t print.

      • pharmSCgirl

This is not true at all! Last week I bought the Acai Berry that was on sale for $4 and used a $3 coupon and paid $1+tax and recieved the $4 RR. I don’t know where they got that information unless things have changed in the past week. I’m sorry that happened to you. I would e-mail corporate or call costumer service.

      • Sharon

I have found that most Walgreen employees have no idea how the RR program is suppose to work. Therefore, they just tell you anything to get you out of the line. You should have returned your items and went to another Walgreens. I have to do that sometimes. I’ve gone to a Wags did a transaction and didn’t receive a RR. Returned the products. Went to a different Wags did the exact same transaction and received my RR. Sometimes the RR machine isn’t working and they really don’t know. They should really just try learning the program.

        • Amy

They also have no clue what the “W” Card is…they look at it likes it’s from a different country! Do people not use them? I used mine last week when i got the W Brand Blood Glucose Machine and got a 10% credit of $2 on the card, so i wanted to use my credit last night…he had no idea what he was doing and had to scan it a few times after pushing all different kind of buttons. No tags by the contact solution or stayfree that they were on sale or RR, i asked and he said “no” they rang up on sale, so i took my chances on getting a RR and it worked. I hate wags. I love cvs! I’m heading to wags again at lunch for round two..argh.

      • Mina

Call the Catalina company and give them the info from your receipt. They will be able to tell if you were entitled to an RR and whether one printed. If you were, and it didn’t, they will send you one. That is often easier than arguing with the store employees.

Want free snuggle and all soap? This is what I worked out today if you have any bayer coupons left, bayer meters are 14.99 at walgreens, so this will count towards your 25 to get 5rr .

      1 BAYER METER 14.99
      4 SNUGGLE/ ALL 14.00
      filler item 99cents or less
BAYER COUPON UP TO $30 OFF (Will only take off 14.99)
4 $2 off snuggle (will take off $8)
2 $3 off comtrex (will take off $6)

total: you will pay only filler item, and get your $5 rr for spending $25.

      • Vanessa

what in store coupons are you talking about for comtrex? where can i find them?

To Vanessa, One coupon is in the December coupon book, the other one is on the Healthy savings book. You have to make sure they take both of those off for the comtrex to be free, and since those are walgreens (store coupons) they will still scan your manufacturer coupon from paper, I think it was in November but you can find in under http://www.hotcouponworld.com database. By using your manufacturer coupon on a free item you will get overage to conver your snuggle or soap.

      • Amy

Where did you find the snuggie coupons?

      • Ginger

Need help with the Comtrex thing. I have the $3.00 off from the December book, and the $2.00 from the Healthy savings (?) booklet from the pharmacy, but I have been told before you can’t use those two books together? But you’re saying you can use both, plus the mfr Q, right? Thanks!

i did this transaction twice no problem!

      • Angel in Charleston

They let you use 2 different store Qs for the same item? That doesn’t seem right. You can usually just use one store Q and one manufacturer Q. Just want to make sure I understood your deal correctly …

        • Courtney

yes, they do! i did this today and it worked great. thanks for the tip!

    • Anna

I’m new to Walgreens & am trying to figure out what I will do with all these RR! Can I use them to pay for prescriptions?

      • Ashley

I’m new too but am 99.99% sure you can’t use them for prescriptions. RR’s are ”coupons” and the pharmacy doesn’t take them.

      • Mina

No, you cannot. The rules are printed on the side of every RR. Read those and you’ll know which items are excluded.

      • Heather

I don’t know where you live, Anna, but I use mine at Publix. They are manufacturer’s coupons and should be taken anywhere, but you may have issues at a less-customer-friendly grocery store. I just hand them over like cash after all my normal coupons come off. I don’t even bother trying to use them at Walgreens- too much trouble. I have used them successfully at Publixes in metro Atlanta and Tampa Bay.

    • Ashley

Ugh, I get so frustrated with couponing. The register in Simpsonville beeps if you try to use the $5 off 4 Kellog’s cereal coupon with Target logo!!

AND, I asked a cosmetics cashier ahead of time if the $5 rr on $25 if the rr would print even after I used all my coupons, and she told me no! I get up there to pay finally and the $5 rr printed even though I only paid $12!

Way to get my scenarios screwed up!

    • Rebekah

I went to Wags to purchase 1 of the 16 ct Stayfree pads for $1.99 and getting $1.99RR (but it printed $2RR instead:) ) I had $1RR to contribute. I found that they tax the original total price($1.99x$0.07=$0.1393+$1.99=$2.1293-$1.00RR=$1.1293=$1.13) so I ended up paying $1.13. For some reason I thought the $0.99 would have been taxed after the coupon was taken off. Oh well just make sure you have more money than you think you will need with RR.

I’m not sure what to use my $2RR on because they expire in like 2 weeks. I don’t think I like “playing” with RRs. I haven’t tried ECB’s at CVS but they can’t possibly be this hard to understand. I did email Wags from the website (because there was no information on the website about it or if so can someone give me the link?) to see if they could send me rules for it…I haven’t heard anything back yet.

      • Rebekah

Oh,I also plan on donating these pads to Harvest Hope because it was a great deal. (if you are looking for a good deal on pads Kroger has their Kotex on sale for 2/$5. Use your $2/2 coupon and you get them for $3 even though I prefer Kroger’s brand).

        • Laura

I am with you about the RR Rebekah. I only do Wags if it is very little OOP and not much RR to keep up with b/c I do have a hard time trying to spend them before they expire. Even though you can get more RR than what you spend, basically getting free stuff… unless I need the “stuff” I don’t spend $25 to get $33 RR. That is just me. I know several people who so the Wags deals and love it.

      • Mina

Other than the prohibited categories printed on the side of the RR, use the RR on anything you want, as long as the total of your transaction will be $2 or more BEFORE taxes. The items you purchase can be ones that trigger different RR’s, or not.

I’ve found that lots of q’s beep at drugstores that don’t beep at grocers. Beeps aren’t necessarily a bad thing. As long as your using the q according to the terms written on it, it is valid. The Target q is distributed by Target, but does not say “Redeem ONLY at Target.” If it said that, Kellogg’s would be under no obligation to reimburse the store even if it went through with no beeps, because the terms of the written agreement had not been met.

        • Rebekah

so you are saying if I spent $2.50 my taxes would still be about $0.18 that I would have to add to my $0.50 after the $2RR is taken off correct?
          $2.50x$0.07(tax)=$0.175(total tax)+$2.50=$2.675-$2RR=$0.675 OOP correct?

Correct in most states. I think Texas and Missouri are the two exceptions that calculate tax after q’s. The rest hold the buyer responsible for tax on the total before manufacturer coupons are used.

Store coupons are a different story. Those regulations also vary by state, but they are commonly treated the way they are here in SC.

Think of manufacturer coupons as a form of payment toward the merchandise. They go toward paying a portion of the price the store is charging. The customer is responsible for the rest, including tax.

Now, think of store coupons like you would a sale available to those who present them. Just like a sale, they cause a reduction in the price being charged by the store. And just like paying a sale price means that you pay less in sales tax than you would on the regular price, so does the reduction in price from using the store coupon. You wind up paying tax only on the price the store is charging.

If you are in a state like that and wind up earning one of the $5 Holiday Dollar RR’s and spend it on taxable merchandise, your tax will be reduced by 35 cents because the store is actually charging you $5 less. All of the other RR’s are Manufacturer coupons; so, they only go toward payment of the total, not a reduction, and the full amount of tax will remain payable.

Has anyone been told by Walgreens that they “do not compete with anyone”? The walgreens cashier told me that this past weekend when I tried to use a CVS card (for the M%Ms premiums). Is this so?

      • Sloan

She was probably tring to tell you that they do not accept competitor’s coupons or price match with competitors. Occassionally, I will see a price match at CVS or Rite Aid for prescription prices only, but I have never heard of a pharmacy price matching on general merchandise or taking competitor’s coupons.

    • Sloan

The $5 RR on $25 is definitely after coupons. This morning I spent $1.67 after RR and coupons (including a $9.99 toy!) and still got the $5 back, as all as RR for all the other products I purchased. They were out of the brushes/hair things and stayfree, already. Did get the stimudent, men’s nivea, toy, dulcolax (still free with hang tag Q), and bag of cookies. I just didn’t pull out my coupons until after she pressed the total button.

      • Amy

        You mean before couponds…right :)

      • Amy

        You mean before couponds…right :)

        • Ashley

No, I believe she means after. Give cashier all the coupons which brings the price lower than $25 and still get the RR.

          • Vanessa

No Amy is right. That would be before coupons. The total has to be $25 before the coupons are scanned (total can be less than $25 after coupons), not $25 out of pocket like Jenny said it was last year.

    • Felicia

I cannot find the Triaminic Walgreens coupon. I have the Healthy Savings book and the December Savings book and don’t see it anywhere. Anybody know where I should look?

    • Sarah

I was in Wal-green’s last night and had absolutely no problems with my coupons and RR’s. I used a free Glade Lasting Impressions coupon, a $3.00 off Glade scented oil refills, and $8 in RR’s and purchased the Glade products along with several other things. Total was $35 before coupons. I ended up with the $5 RR printing out as well as a Tylenol $2 off coupon printing out. My second transaction resulted in $8 of RR printing out. Now I have $13 in RR to use, an I ended up spending less than $20 on $55 worth of merchandise – so all in all I spent around $6. Great tip – the Christmas cups, tins, serving dishes (paper), etc… are 4/$1 and make great filler items!

    • I love the $5 off $25 at my stores before coupons (Franklin and Hendersonville,TN)
MY $5 OFF $25 RR was before any coupons.

BEWARE if you want to buy multiple mail-in rebates, DO NOT put them on the same receipt. All of the rebates require an ORIGINAL receipt so you cannot copy them and send the copies in to get the rebate! (I found this out the hard way!)

      • Ashley

What do you mean ? Are you saying if I bough 10 Wheat Thins at one time on a single receipt, I will not get my rebate?

        • Natalie

No she’s saying that for example your crackers and lotions each qualify for a mail in rebate to not but them all on one receipt as one original receipt must be sent to the cracker people and one to the lotion people- you always must send an original receipt and if you put them all in one you would miss out on one of the rebates.

    • Rebekah

Anyone still need the Triaminic coupons?
      I have (2) $3 off & the other one (2) $2 off.
I won’t use them and I hate for them to go to waste.

      • Sarah D

Just a suggestion, but I sometimes give them to the “cosmetics counter” lady since she keeps a coupon box so she can give them to her customers…and, she always returns the favor. Or, send them off to one of the overseas bases – it’s easy and inexpensive to mail them off

      • chris

i could use them! email me at chris@truckerstoystore.net

      • Vanessa

If you still have the coupons, I could use them. I have been buying that stuff like crazy and giving it to the local women and children shelter. They always have big needs and they could never get deals like I do. My email is vannacook@yahoo.com.

      • Mina

Rebekkah, I would love them since we’ve been going through more than a box a day because I’ve had so many using it. They wouldn’t have time to get here for this week’s offer, but I would still use them. I got embarrassingly grouchy when I found that 3 of my 5 papers that I bought at Kroger were missing their inserts. The only thing I really, really wanted were the Triaminic q’s. If the offer still stands, you can contact me at humidhumor* gmail. com – Just replace the first * with @ and get rid of the extra spaces. I try to avoid spam bots that grab emails from posts.

        • Ginger

I feel ya. FOUR of my papers were missing inserts. I was furious. I called the paper to complain, but they won’t do anytyhing. They probably figure people just stole them, and maybe they did. Sigh.

      • Rebekah

        gone..thanks for inquiries

    • CJ

I subscribe to All You but can’t find the Neutrogena coupon. Can anyone tell me where in the mag I can find it? Thanks!

      • Courtney

it was the December issue, i believe

    • Sarah D

Just an FYI suggestion: if you still have the $5 Q from last weeks’ Target post you can use it at WAGS 4 day sale on the Kellogg’s cereals that are $1.99 each. You will get 4 boxes of cereal for $3. My total purchases for today were $106.77 before coupons and $35.11 after or a savings of 67%. I still have a couple of RR’s left over in case I want to do another run tomorrow. Thanks, Jenny…Christmas gifts, give aways for charity, fun stuff, and, of course, some L’Oreal for me

    • Meme

Okay, I messed up royally this afternoon. I had all my transactions written down, coupons sorted, and then the shelves were bare. So I stood in an empty aisle and did my calculations over with alternative coupons and scenarios.

When I checked out I thought I understood the clerk to say if I used the $5 RR made on the first $25 purchase on the second transaction, I wouldn’t have another one print out. Was this correct? It completely undid my second and third transactions.

I came home with alot of RR’s but had alot of OOP expense.

I also have another problem. My husband was NOT thrilled I bought him hair color. Will I have trouble returning it after getting the RR for it?

Thanks for all your tips. Meme

      • Angel in Charleston

Might be better (easier) to donate the hair color …

      • Teresa-QOCD

send off for the rebate, that’s what I did.

        • Meme

Thanks for the tips. That helps my feelings alot. I will sleep better tonight. Meme

      • Momof2 (Greer)

Please don’t return it. It was technically free anyway, just donate it to someone.

      • Mina

Save the haircolor and give it as gag gift to someone for one of those decade marker birthdays. ;-)

All RR’s state, “Register Rewards must be forfeited if qualifying merchandise is returned.” In this case, in order to comply with the the terms of the reward, you would have to give back the $7 one from the coloring, and would also have to forfeit the $5 HDRR if your total would have been under $25 without the purchase. Your store may not force you to do that, but it is the terms of the agreement. It’s considered coupon fraud when people buy products using coupons, just so they can return the product afterward to make make a profit. I doubt that was your intention, but it’s probably a reputation that you’d rather avoid cultivating for yourself. I wrote that out mainly so that anyone who didn’t know and read it could avoid do something that wasn’t legal.

        • Meme

Oh YIKES! I would never have considered the return on the hair color if I realized all the implications. I was very tired and just disgusted with myself for not walking out and waiting another day until they restocked my original list. I needed the money for the power bill so I was especially upset with myself for not waiting.

I guess my husband remembers an older friend of ours who showed up recently sporting a headful of red hair. LOL It was not very flattering. So I see his point.

Thanks again for all the good suggestions made on the problem. Meme

      • Mina

Oh, and your clerk was correct. The HDRR’s don’t roll. They did last year, but not this year. There were ways to avoid much OOP expense, even if several items were OOS, but it was challenging to work them out along with $5HDRR offer. You’ll get better at it.

    • Rebekah

This RR yall got it going but I’m still trying to figure it out…I seriously see CVS ECB’s as being a better program..but I’m not sure how to start that either.

    • slpchick

The Scotch tape 3pks at my WAGS had q’s for $2 off Scotch gift wrap cutter. They are also on sale for $3.99 this week. HTH!

    • Donna S

For those of you that bought the Just for Men, not sure if you know of this or not but thought I would post it…
You can get a rebate for it. I added the rebate link for you! :)

    • Sommer F

Just a quick FYI for anyone in the Jacksonville, FL area:
The Stim-u-Dent RR is not printing out, so watch carefully. I have tried purchasing at the Mandarin/San Jose and Fleming Island store. The cashiers were both very nice and the managers just rang up an additional Conair item so I received all of my RRs.

    • Ashley

      I have a question yall.

I worked out my whole plan and scenario for my 3rd trip to Walgreens. I had done my first two trips at the same store and the 3rd was at a second Walgreens. I paid out of pocket $4.08 but at this second store my $5 on $25 didn’t print. I used $17 RR and was planning on $11 RR back. I spoke with the assistant manager and blah blah blah. He told me to call in the morning to speak with store manager.

Should I just let this go, or try to have her understand to side with the customer since I recieved the rr’s at another store, or do you think she’ll even credit me the $5?

    • JEB

I am confused and upset. LAst night I used a register reward to buy something over $25 and according to the 4 day sale ad, if you spend $25, then you get $5 register rewards…Mine did not print. I should have voided the transaction or asked for rewards back or gotten a manager, but I was tired and it was late and there was line of people behind me…The cashier said if you pay with register rewards, then it won’t print new ones….now I know I have done that very thing at another Walgreens at least twice, and my register rewards printed when I paid with register rewards….I want to go back and talk to manager or return everything and rebuy but do it in the proper sequence…I feel like they owe me $5….

      • JEB

If I had known it was not going to print, then I would have used the $5 RR to pay for a princess toy gift that after RR and $4 off toy coupon would have been $1!! Instead, I bought that in second transaction but ended up having to pay $6 for it….If I go back today and buy another item over $25 will it print $5 RR? If so, then I will use that to buy another toy….Then return the stuff I got the night before later…not trying to make a profit or fraud, just wanted to get my toy for $1!

    • debra

Question? Can I purchase a $25 gift card and get the $5 RR bonus?
      Any help is appreciated.

      • JEB

        The ad says no…sorry

    • JEB

      The ad says no…sorry

    • a lesson learned yesterday. in myrtle beach you can not buy more than one item on one ticket than you want your RR after. I bought 4 of the hair acces. and only got one RR. cashier told me I couldn’t get all four.

    • JEB

Ok–I think if I return an item purchased with RR, then I will only get back what I paid, minus the RR–thus losing the RR…correct?

Now if I buy something that generates a RR, but was not purchased with a RR, if I return it, will I get back the full value that I paid or will they subtract the RR amount generated? Say I bought something for $40 and got $5 RR…if I return the $40 item, will I get back my $40 or just $35?

    • Greg

I did a few runs to Walgreens on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Prepared my lists with appropriate coupons and WAGs instore coupons and my $24 in RR from last week. I totalled everything up last night and found I had puchased $366.03 worth of products for $75.10 OOP. Three purchases were for 2 ROCs products on sale for($80) and Eucerin cream products on sale for($26). I cashed in a total of $146.38 in MFG coupons (which included a bunch of RR that were accumulated during the three days of shopping) that were described on various websites that teach us how to shop at Walgreens, $37.92 in WAGs sale flyer coupons, $81.63 in WAGs sale priced items, and $25 in RR for 5 of the the $25 purchases. Without the ROCs and Eucerin products I purchased $302.03 in products and had out of pocket of $11.10. I made a couple of mistakes by including RR items in a purchase and used RRs to pay so did not get any RR for them. Also used a $5 off of $25 RR in a purchase and did not get one back. Still learning but I appreciate these sites that provide such valuable information. Lots of stuff to give away for Christmas, Angel Tree, Shelters etc. Merry Christmas!!

Note: Two of the Walgreen’s stores I visited would not accept computer/internet generated coupons. I was at one of them last week and did not have a problem. I have called the corporate office to inquire. Spoke with customer relations and someone is to get back to me. I am going to request that if a store chooses to not accept internet coupons they need to post on their front doors so we do not waste our time.
