    • Delta

Thanks for the heads up! Any tips on how to get the lindsay olive coupons to work? DH LOVES them!

    • Momof2

Just a reminder that the Register Rewards that prints out at Walgreens are actually “manufacturer’s coupons”, it says so on the top of the print out. So remember you can’t use 2 coupons for 1 item. For example, if you go in there to buy the $4.49 Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste 4.6 – 6 oz at $4.49 & you use the $1 off coupon which would then make your total…$3.49 plus tax, you cannot use a register reward ($3.00) from a previous visit to pay the balance because that will be like using 2 coupons for 1 item. This is just the experience that I have had. I have found that it is best to add an item to my purchase that does not require a coupon & this in terms pushs the register rewards thru. I don’t know why but I have had that problem several times.

    • Adele

It says the Lindsey link is not valid? But does take you to their page. Any suggestions? Thanks! Adele

Can someone tell me where I can find the $120 Rebate Savings Booklet? I see it on CVS deals as well and seem to figure out what it is. I asked on this weeks CVS deals comments, but no response so far. Thanks in advance!

    • Jen

Shawn – The $120 Rebate Savings Booklet is a coupon booklet that you had to send it for a couple of months ago. You bought about $50 of P&G and sent it you receipts and they sent you the booklet.

    • Jen

Jenny – where you do find the .05.05¢ caramels caramels? I’ve only found .35¢ ones. Thanks.

    • Jennifer

Why are you guys using small fillers ($0.05 caramels)? I am new to Walgreens and trying to learn the tricks. Thanks!

    • Jennifer H.

If you subscribe to Pepsi Xtras, there is a $1/1 coupon for the Starbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drinks.

    • shelly

If you have the Home Made Simple coupon book, there is a .75 off any Mr. Clean Magic eraser. Couldn’t that be used w/the b1g1 to lower your oop?

    • crystal

Daisy, You actually saved right at 60%!!! Sounds even better, doesn’t it???

    • Andrea

Remember you can get $34 coupon booklet when you purchase $25 of Conagra Products between May 3 – June 9th. With this RR and coupons–might be a good time to buy. Here is the link for the rebate:

    • Lynn

Jennifer, the reason for having small filler items is so you have at least as many items in your transaction as you have manufacturer coupons. As Momof2 said, Register Rewards are actually manufacturer coupons, so if you’re buying just one item you can’t use a regular manufacturer coupon AND a RR to pay for it. You’d need to add a filler item so you’d have two items in your transaction to go with the two coupons you’re using.

    • Thermacare are on sale for 5.99 so free after coupon and rr. :)

    • Rebecca

I just wanted to thank you for providing an easy way to figure these deals out. Yesterday was my first time using coupons. I followed your suggestions and used the printables and it was amazing! At Publix we saved $97.96 and only spent $88 and some change! My husband was shocked! Thank you!!!

    • Brandy

I was wondering why on your deal scenario #4 you said to give the coupons in that order. There appears to be 4 items and 4 MQs. Please explain why I might need a filler item if I hand the coupons over the wrong way. Is it because the MQs are BOGO?

    • Jenny

Look for Easter/springtime knickknacks for cheap fillers. I grabbed 3 pencils with bunnies and butterflies on them marked 3/$1 to use as fillers so I could use 4 $5RR for a $20 item. They rang up .08/each!!! Got my item for .25!

    • If anyone is planning on purchasing the Swiffer Refills there is a MIR offer for a $10 debit card WYP $20 ($5 WYP $10)of Swiffer Refills… Scenario is better if you have several of the $.50/1 from the P&G Year of Savings Booklets

      Buy 3 Refills @ $4 = $12 OOP
      Get back $2 RR
      Get a $5 MIR
Cost per item after all rebates = $1.66

      Buy 7 refills @ $4 = $28 OOP
      Get back $6 in RR
      Get a $10 MIR
Cost per item after all rebates = $1.71

      MIR is here: http://www.swiffer.com/en_US/refillrebate.do?utm_source=swiffer_wetjet&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=RefillRebate

    • Adele

      Would this work?
I have a $3 RR left from last week.

Buy 1 Nice and Easy 6.99
Use free coupon (received in mail)
      Owe tax (?)
      Earn $2 RR

      Buy 4 Mr Clean Erasers
      Use $3 RR from #1
      Use $2 RR from #2
      owe tax?
      Earn $2 RR

      2 Lindsey Olives .99 each
      small filler
Use $2 RR from #4 pay difference

      • Jenny

        Looks great!

    • Jennifer

      Hi, Jenny,
I just received a booklet from P&G today in the mail. It has over $30 in savings including .75 off one Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and $1.00 off Swiffer Refills. It also has a coupon for a free 8.45 oz. Cascade crystal clear rinse agent. I thought everyone might want to check their mailbox before they go out.

    • Jennifer

I have a question….. If I buy 2 Colgate Toothpastes will I receive $9.98 in RR or is only good one time?

    • Angie Scott

I have a question about there RR ? When you use them to pay for the next transaction do they take off the tax like CVS does and then you have to find fillers ?

    • Adele

Would a.75 coupon off of the Magic Erasers work with the B1G1 free coupons? I got my book in the mail today as well. I know I would need a filler with the scenerio I listed above if I use the .75.

      • Jenny

You can use a .75 cent coupon with a B1G1 as long as you buy two items. Have Fun!

    • OMG…like I saw above the RR is a manufacturer coupon. I used mine today at Food Lion to purchase bread and even got the overage 56cents in cash!!! YEAH.
My name is Travise and I clip coupons

      **Jenny Here**
Getting actual cash back is not typical at any store so while you are lucky for others don’t expect them to pay you. Grab something else to buy so that your total is not negative.

A RR really can be used anywhere though so great job for trying! I have even seen folks use them at K-Mart and other big chain stores.

    • April

When I went to Walgreen’s last week, I bought enough items in my first transaction to receive three Register Rewards. Unfortunately, though, when I went back to use the RR’s in another transaction, with new and different items, the cashier told me that I could only use one. I had more than three items that totaled more than the RR’s. Then she told me to choose wisely. I chose not to argue, because I was with my daughter and a friend of mine. So, I handed one to my friend and went back to buy one more item to use my last RR. I ended up coming out of pocket about $7.00, not including the gift card that I received for transferring a perscription, but came out of there with alot of items. Thank you for all you do.

    • Edie

My Wags is not printing RR for Thermacare. The ad I have here does not specify RR for this product. Does anyone of you have an ad that shows the product with RR?

    • Gail

Hi! I live in Colorado -went to Walgreens Sat. and my RR’s did not print out. I talked to a manager and was told that with the new RR program (since they did away with the rebate program) you are only allowed to use one RR per transaction and if you use a RR on a transaction you do not get back any RR’s. The manager informed me that they were told that Walgreens was still working out the bugs. There is nothing on the RR coupon (in the fine print) that states any of the above so I went to Walgreens site and e-mail customer service only to have them tell me I needed to talk to someone else. So Monday I will call Walgreens corp. office and probably get the run around on it! I am going to ask for a policy on using the RR coupons because I have never been able to find one on the Walgreens site.

    • Wayne

I have scoured both smart source inserts in 2 different May 3 papers and can not find the Pert Plus coupons. What am I missing? And I went to Walgreens anyway and they told me the rebate books have been discontinued.

    • I have scoured both smart source inserts from two different papers and can not find a Pert Plus coupon. What am I missing?

      • Jenny

What area are you in? I happened to grab an Atlanta paper on our way home today and they had the pert coupons but they could be regional only.

    • Leah

Okay, I need some expert advise! I am going to get a call from a Walgreens manager and I want to have a lot of points to discuss with him. When I was at my local store Friday, the assistant manager told the cashier to call her when I went to check out. So when I started to check out she came over and told me I could not buy ANYTHING in my buggy because I had bought some of the same items the day before! OMG, needless to say my head almost burst. I argued with her for about 10 minutes and she finally said fine, but you cannot get the glucose meter because u bought 2 yesterday and I am limiting you to 1 per day. Then she said “people like you” come in here and wipe out our shelves and make it where other people do not get the deals. And accused me of buying something (which wiped out their stock) and I did not even buy the item she was talking about! I am livid and I feel like this will be a good moment to bring somethings to Walgreens attention. Help!! I want to do as much good as I can. :)

    • Where are the $0.05-$0.35 caramels? I looked for inexpensive filler items today while shopping, but most everything I found was $0.99 or more.

I had a better day today at my Walgreens. I even had a RR not print and the Manager reran something to make it print. Obviously, depends on who is working!

    • Jenn

I would love to know what other cheap fillers everyone is using as mine does not have the .05 caramels…

    • Jenny from FL

FYI There are NO RR for the ThermoCare wraps in central FL. Checked the flyer after the fact and it does not state the $3RR deal, only the sale price of $5.99.

Also check for clearance items. We scored three rubbermaid sandwich keepers that were marked to .75 and then we used (3)$1 coupons from todays SS. That made all 3 FREE!!!

    • Leigh

The thermacare RR did not print for me today either. Guess I’ll be returning it. I have been buying Russell Stover cream filled eggs for fillers. They are .12 and sooo good! Found with the easter clearance.

    • meg

The toothpaste didn’t have a RR here in Houston so it threw off my whole plan. Oh well!

    • Edie

I just got back from Wags. While at the store I talked to one of the associates about thermacare RR. She mentioned that you have to buy Advil 80 or 100 ct and 2 ct Thermacare L/XL size to get $3RR. She and I walked over to where thermacare is at, and there is a RR sign posted next to it. I pointed it out to her that it is not mentioned in the weekly ad. She suggested that I call the corp, which I will do tomorrow.

    • meg

Wayne, The pert plus coupons were in the Houston paper.

    • Wayne

I got inserts from papers in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Al.

    • marion

The same deal on the thermacare in IL had to buy advil and the L/XL wraps- but I use the neck patches regularly, so it was a good deal for me with the 3.00 coupon- I was able to print two.

    • tonya

I have to say that I am almost done with Walgreens. Having problems everytime I go in there. Management and all. Even free is not worth it when you leave with a headache. Unless, of course, you’re getting free aspirin to help with the headache. Thinking CVS is enough for me.

    • Julie Ann

I’m with you Tonya! I always have problems @ Walgreens- RR’s never print out for me. Last time the manager had to return each item and individually ring it up. I finally got my rebate card in the mail and it had ZERO $ VALUE. What a pain!!! Forget the aspirin, they need to issue RRs for free therapy :)

    • beth

Question**** How is it that some people have multiple coupons (not printables) do u purchase multiple sunday papers or is there a better trick? Please enlighten me, I’m a newbee couponer :) but I LOVE it!

      • Jenny

You do want to get multiple papers or inserts. Since we want to stock up for 6 weeks worth of an item you want to have enough coupons for the items you need to buy. To answer your 2nd question. If you also follow CVS deals you will find between CVS and Walgreens you really only need to the deals once (or to whatever the limit is) and you will have plenty. We have enough toothpaste to last the rest of the year!

    • beth

Question #2******Sorry I just thought of something else…When we have these deals at Walgreens how many products should we stock up on? I would like to get 3 or 4 but that took me all week last week between 2 stores because I felt like I should break it up and didn’t want the same cashier to see me getting the same stuff. What is a good plan? Thanks!!

    • Stacey

      To April:

My advise is to talk to the manager. I have have always been able to use as many RR and Q’s as I had items, but I had the same problem a few weeks ago when the cashier told me I could only use 1 RR per transaction. I also chose not to argue, but did not make the purchase. I have 3 WAGS in my area, so I went to the one further down the road. When I got home, I called the manager at the first WAGS. She was very nice, but also told me the same thing. I read the small print on the RR to the manager, who then agreed and told me she would talk to the cashier and asked me to please continue shopping there.

    • I am just STUNNED by the problems that some of you have to deal with at your Walgreen stores!! The cashiers and RR’s not printing out. I can’t believe Leah was told that she could not buy multiple items on two different trips! What a pain. I was lucky enough to meet a cashier at my Walgreens on Saturday who knows ALL the rules about the RR program and how to get the best deals. On my second transaction my RR did not print out. She told me that the RR I used for it must have been tied to the deal I was doing. Even though the RR was Bayer and I was getting the Got2B products it did not work. She returned everything and tried another RR I had and gave me back the first one I used. It went through, printed the RR no problem. She told me to come to her whenever she was working. I have always had luck with the gals working the counter by the make-up. If you have a hard time with the cashier’s up front, try the make-up counter and see if you have any luck there. I wish some of your experiences were better at this store!

    • Priscilla

I also only go to the cashiers at the beauty counter. They are always so helpful. When I stopped by the WAGS closest to my home yesterday, one of the cashiers that usually works at the front of the store was telling me how she was now learning how to use her coupons more effectively because she had seen other couponers like myself in the store and all the good deals we get. The WAGS here is great!!!

I live in Port Charlotte FL and am having trouble finding a newspaper that has the Proctor & Gamble coupons the first sunday of the month. Has anyone out there been able to find them?

      Frustrated in FL

    • Larissa

      Nabisco coupon limit reached.

    • MiniMidgMom

I want to buy the sensitive tpaste and the sodas. The fine print says one coupon printed per transaction. Does that mean that I need to buy these in two separate transactions? Then I want to use the RR towards diapers, and will use a filler. Do I need to wait a day to use the RR coupons? Can I only use them towards products from the same manufacturers?

    • MiniMidgMom

I called Walgreen’s customer service this morning because I’ve only shopped with coupons once in Walgreens and it was not a pleasant experience. I really want to try the RR program but after a month of reading negative posts I’m really not looking forward to it! I told them that their employees don’t seem familiar with how to enter manufacturer’s coupons and coupon combinations and from what I’ve heard and what I’ve experienced they do not welcome couponers in their stores. In Publix and CVS, they are at least friendly, even if they need to figure out how to get the coupon combinations to work.We live less than 3 miles from CVS, Walgreens, Super Kroger and Publix, and 5 miles from Super Target.I’m ready to move my prescriptions to the next store that offers me a deal and avoid Walgreens completely. I don’t expect every employee to know everything, but I do expect plseasant customer service while they find my answers. The customer service rep was extremely helpful and professional and said they have been getting a lot of calls about coupon complaints lately and are passing them along. Please call or email your complaints so Walgreens knows they need to improve their employee training about all coupons, not just RR, and so they can improve customer service.

Is anyone have problems using RR’s? My local walgreens said that I could only use one register reward per transaction! I’ve used 2 before…always made sure that I have enough filler items and this morning they said that corporate policy was only one register reward per transaction! Bummer. Anyone else having this problem? I really love Wags and hate that this is happening.

    • angie

Sorry..should have read more of the comments. I see the answer that I was looking for. I do agree with Amber that the ladies at the beauty counter and soooo much nicer and easier to deal with. I usually go to the same lady but she wasn’t working today. Walgreens should really do something more than what they’re currently doing to train their employee’s and managers on store policy. I still love, love Wags though!

Thank you so much for you advice. Also, thank you to Jenny for this website. You have truly changed the way I and my sister-in-law shop.

    • Becky

I too had problems with Walgreens yesterday. I followed the scenario given and the last one I did exactly as stated well it would not take the coupon with the RR’s so she asked me if I wanted to continue with the RR’s. I did and it did not give me any RR’s after the transaction. All of the transactions were wrong and even the manager stood there as the cashier explained to him how it worked. Just a real pain to shop there. I was very pleased with my experiences with CVS and Rite aid so I will probably put Walgreens on the back burner until they straighten out this matter. LOVE THE WEBSITE!!!!! Another question that I have is does anyone know of a website that works with southern home markets, foodlands, piggly wiggly’s, and bigstars? I unfortunetly live quite a distant from the grocers on this site.

      okay jenny,

just got back from walgreens and purchased…

      (2) listerine total care @ 2/$9
      (3) diet coke 2L’s @ $1.25 each

      total = $12.75

      i used…

      (2) $2 off listerine total care coupons
      (1) $4.50 rr
      (1) $2.00 rr

when presented in the above order, the register would not accept them…even though i had only 4 manufacurer’s coupons (including rr’s) and a total of 5 items. but, when i asked the cashier to start over and i presented the rr’s 1st…it accepted it fine.

SO…is the “RULE”…to always present the rr’s 1st? i couldn’t understand why it didn’t accept the coupons before the rr’s because i had a total of 5 items.

i’d like to know the rationale for future transactions.

    • Tina

I bought the Thermacare but no rr printed out this morning. Anyone else has this problem?

    • Michelle B

My Walgreen’s did not give a RR…I just used my $3.00 coupon…still a good deal.

    • Michelle B

      Ooops…for the Thermacare…

    • Julia

I went to Walgreen’s today and bought two packages of Oreo’s with the Nabisco $1/$2 coupon. The $3 RR still printed without buying the milk. Not a bad deal at $1 a package after RR!

    • Brandi

I have a $2 RR left from last week….I am thinking I am using it to go buy another paper for the coupons…then that will be the LAST time I EVER walk into a Wlagreens. I am so DONE with them and their “non-coupon friendly” rules and programs! I have one across the street from my house and several more within just a few miles…but I also have several CVS in the same locations…so I am officially boycotting Wags! LOL

    • tonya

i’m thinking the same thing brandi.

it’s just not worth the hassel and negative treatment.

    • Alisa

Walgreen’s has $1 RR deal on Dove chocolates when you buy 2/$6. This didn’t seem like such a great deal. However, while checking out the clearance section, there was an entire box of the Dove Chocolate Roses .75 oz (as shown in ad) marked to 99¢. I purchased 2/$1.98 + tax and received $1 RR. So I ended paying 2/.98 or 49¢ each, plus tax. Wahoo!!

    • I went to 2 wag’s. No meters, no listerine.. :(

    • Gail

So-to cont. from May 3rd, I called Customer Relations (number on the back of the circular) on Monday and the woman I talked to stated you can only use one RR per transaction so I proceeded to read her what it says on the back of the RR mfg coupon. She said I don’t know the answer I will have to get someone who deals with this issue to call you back within 24-48 hours & gave me a reference number. She also stated that there had been a lot of people calling in about using the RR’s & asking if they can only use one on a transaction. I will let you all know what is said when I talk to someone.

    • karen

I’m new to Southern Savers and studied hard on all the Walgreens info over the weekend so I’d understand how it all worked. Really paid off for me on this first visit using the advice from this site. Thanks for all the comments! I wound up saving 48% on Sunday, and got $9 in RR which I went and spent today on 3 cases of water ($2.99 each on sale) and a bag of M&Ms (I, too, couldn’t find a lower priced filler). I had 4 items and 4 RR, and handed over a little over a dollar to the cashier and left with a huge smile on my face. Thanks everyone!

    • Erica

Does anyone know if all of the Conagra products have to be purchased in one transaction? Or can you submit multiple receipts?

    • tonya

walgreen’s doesn’t have a “card” like cvs, so i would think it would have to be done in one transaction because they have know way of tracking what you have purchased.

    • Erica

Oops, I should have clarified, I meant for the coupon booklet, not to get the Register Rewards.

    • Tiffany

Does anyone know where I can find coupons in Waycross, GA? I am having a hard time locating any paper with grocery coupons in them. We have a Harvey’s, Kroger, Walgreen’s & Food Lion, but no coupons. I could print them, but that can become costly with paper and ink. Someone please HELP me save money!!! Thanks!

    • Priscilla

One of the fillers I found recently is the Walgreens Ibuprofen (24 caplets) on clearance for $ .25. (They were originally marked 4/$4).

    • Stefanie

I don’t know if this has been mentioned or not…but I just got back from WAGS and found:

Kid Essentials by Boost (reg. 13.49) is on sale/clearance for $4.99 a 6 pk. On each product is a $2 off mfr Q…making them $2.99 each.

I also had a $5 off Q that they (Boost) sent me, so I got one FREE!

    • david

    • Kristina from Kennesaw, GA

I just purchased 3 12pks of Dr. Pepper and have received $5RR for them. Can anyone tell me if I want to go and purchase more of the drinks, can I use the $5RR I got from the first set of drinks I bought towards the second set? And if so, will another $5RR print out for the second set if I’ve used the same kind of $5RR for that transaction? Am I making sense?

Thanks to anyone who can help!!! :)

    • Stefanie

You can use the first RR to buy more…BUT…a second RR will NOT print. You can use an RR from a different type of product purchase and another $5 RR will print.

    • leigh

Kristina, you can use the RR to buy more drinks but another RR will not print. RRs will not print when used to buy from the same deal. HTH

    • Kristina from Kennesaw, GA

Thanks Leigh & Stefanie! That’s what I thought. I did try to use a $3RR from the skinimate I bought on a second drink purchase and another $5RR printed. So now I have 2 $5RR’s from the drinks to use towards something else. But now I have one more question…Can you use two RR’s of the same type on one purchase or do they have to be on different purchases as well? I’m just starting out with the drugstore thing and I tell you that it’s quite confusing! LOL

    • Erica

Is it possible to use 2 $4 RR from from the J&J Band-Aida deal from last week on the Swiffer deal? I’m paranoid about RR not printing.

    • Sylvie

Just returned home from my first Walgreens run of the week and had to tell something very interesting (and cool) that happened. The cashier in cosmetics asked me if I was ready to check out. I said “yes, but I have lots of coupons” and she said “so do I… I’ll let you know if I have any for things you’re buying”

I was floored! The cashier actually had a little folder of MQs and helped her customers match up the deals with the coupons from Sunday’s paper. How cool is that???!!!

I love my Walgreens on Old Alabama in Roswell/Alpharetta!

    • Sylvie- I love my wags too! The beauty associate always has her coupons there to share with customers and they are sooooo good to me!!

    • Jana

I had some trouble at Walgreens tonight. Who can help me.

I bought Thermacare Wrap for $5.99 (expecting $3 RR)
      used 3 off Thermacare printable
used $1 off coupon peelie on Thermacare box
Bought 2 Scotch Paper Cutters (2/$3)
used (2) 50 cent off coupons
      Used $4.50 register reward
      Paid $1.77

The $3 RR for the Thermacare did not print. The cashier tried to explain why but I could not understand. The RR was not from purchase of the similar product. She kept saying something about not being able to get something for nothing. Is it because with the $3 RR I would have netted $1 on the Theracare wraps?

    • Leroy

Are the Meters that are on sale all month (Breeze2) printing RR all month as well?

    • Timea

I see a couple posts on here saying… they can’t find the glucose meters…….. is the deal still good for them? Still printing 5RR if you can actually find them in the store? thanks

    • Robin

In answer to post #74 Tiffany, I’m not sure how close you are to Jacksonville, but I’ve been told that their paper has some great coupon inserts in it. Here in Valdosta, we don’t get very many, but we do get some in our Sunday paper. You may have to network and provide friends and family that live in larger towns with pre-addressed and stamped envelopes and ask them to mail you their coupons if they don’t use them.
I have discovered this week that the coupon inserts vary by state or region. DD was out in Denver this past weekend and brought home several SmartSource inserts and they were 4 times bigger than the ones we get here in our paper!!! Also sent me a Red Plum AND a P&G insert….I swear I’d died and gone to coupon heaven!!!! :)

    • meg

have you checked with the pharmacy? A lot of times they keep the meters back there.

    • Leah…I am on pins and needles to hear what your WAGS manager..said?

    • Sylvie

Was just at a Wags in North Atlanta and found Sunkist with $1 off peelies on both the diet and regular Sunkist. A lot of them had already been “peeled” without purchase, but I found enough to sweeten my deal. $1 – 12 packs will come in handy with a teenager and a house-full of his friends in the summer!!!

      Thank you Jenny!!!

    • Robin

In their ad there is no RR for the Thermacare product. At least I didn’t find it in my ad. That is probably why it didn’t print out.

    • Leah

Not too much so far. He apologized to me and said that she had a few days off this week and when he worked with her again that he would talk to her about this. He also said that he likes to limit everyone to 1-2 deals until Sat, and then as far as he is concered we can wipe the shelves out then. He had no excuse why she accused me of buying items that I did not buy (still sounds weird everytime I say that) but that he would get back to me when he talked to her. He also agrees that you can use as many coupon/rr as you have items. I wish I had a CVS where I live because I really think I would give up on Walgreens! I will post again when I hear back from the manager. :)

    • Brooke Gallaway

I went to Walgreens today and purchased a Thermacare wrap. The $3 RR wasn’t in the add, but there was a sign posted. I used a $3 RR from last week’s Shower Cleaner and the new RR didn’t print. I know before you’ve posted a number to call to have the RR mailed to you. Could you post that number again. Otherwise, I’ll try to return the item, although I’m a little concerned since I only paid 30 cents total, I’ll loose the $3.00 RR I used to purchase the Thermacare wrap. Although there return policy does state manufacturers coupons won’t be deducted from a refund, but I just wonder since I didn’t buy anything else and it is obvious I didn’t pay 5.99.

I often use the Walgreen individual tissue package that cost 29 cents for a filler item.

    • melody

Does anyone know what time the weekly Walgreen’s deals go into effect on Sunday morning. Our store is open 24 hours. I am having a difficult time getting any of the special deals because they are gone by Monday or Tuesday–Leah, you must be buying them all up!! (Just kidding!!!) Anyway, thanks for the info!!

    • Mina

Jana – The $3RR is a month long deal. In order to get it, you have to purchase BOTH a 2 ct. or larger Thermacare AND 100 ct. Advil Caplets or Tablets OR the Advil 80 ct. LiquiGels in the same transaction. You needed to buy one of the qualifying Advil products in the same transaction as the Thermacare to qualify for the RR.

    • MiniMidgMom

Just got back from Wags – no problems with giving more than 1 RR at a time. Found awesome fillers in the food department. My store has these extreme unadvertised instore clearances – boxes of jiffy muffin mix for 22 cents, cans of libby’s mandarin oranges for 35 cents.I caught an incredible deal – pound of Dunkin Donuts coffee reduced from $8 to $2.19, I used RR from the magic cleaner deal and paid 36 cents for a pound of coffee. What stinks is I threw away a coupon for DD coffee b/c my husband only wants to use an espresso blend in the regular coffee maker, and dig this, the coffee on sale was their dark roast. When I told him this he said he will now be flexible about coffee, the last area he’s been trying to stay brand loyal to since I started couponing! There were better filler prices in the food aisle then in my stores clearance aisle, and I can use the fruit or muffins more than I can use a candy bar with caffeine!

    • beth

HELP! I’m spending too much on filler items. My walgreens doesn’t carry any penny candy , the cheapest thing I can find is a .65 cent ring pop or a . 60 cent folder. I know it doesnt sound like much but it is really adding up especially if I’m doing 3 transactions or if I”m already over and just need a filler b/c I need another item to match the amount of coupons I’m using.

    • Mina

Melody – around here at our NON-24hr stores, the prices go into effect after 6:00PM. The best thing to do is to ask at your store because their hours may be different. Saturday evening you can get the PRICES for both the old and new sales, but you won’t get RR’s on the new sales if you buy the items at that time. Catalina sends the message for the machines to print those, and I’ve heard that command doesn’t get set until around 2 or 3 AM.

    • Mina

Beth – check out the Q’s in their weekly ad. There are almost always some inexpensive, useful items like TP, foil, footies, or latex gloves. This week there is a Q for peroxide 3/$1. You don’t have to buy them multiples to get the sale price, but the in-ad Q does need to be scanned in order to get the correct price. Those in-ad store Q’s aren’t part of the “number of coupons must not be greater than the number of items purchased” rule.

Here’s the cool part in at least some states. (It works in SC.) The final costs that Jenny gives are pre-tax. It’s the tax, not the fillers that add up for me. If you have the cashier hold off on scanning those in-ad Q’s until last, you can use RR’s and other manufacturers’ Q’s within the guidelines, right up to the amount of your purchases BEFORE they are reduced by the store’s in-ad Q’s, as long as they don’t come to more than your total would be with tax after getting the in-ad price. Those in-ad Q’s are the only ones I know that have the ability to reduce the amount of sales/use tax due.

The best order, because of fewer beeps and lowest OOP cost, that I’ve found is 1)RR’s 2)other manufacturers’ Q’s 3)in-ad Q’s

    • susan

Can you use this swiffer rebate with the Walgreens’ swiffer deal?

      • Jenny

You can use that. Walgreens deal is not affiliated with this other deal and doesn’t even show up on the receipt that you will mail in. i did it!

    • Dianne

For the filler items, they can be items that use walgreens coupons found in the flyer…so long as you don’t have a manufacturer’s coupon on that item already. Around Easter, I used a lot of the walgreens coupons for Easter items that don’t normally have coupons…it was a great way to fill my kids Easter Baskets.
Also, I have been told that I can only use one RR per transaction…I may have to ask about this again. The Walgreens by me in Tampa, Fl area is no longer doing the Easy Saver program…is this everywhere?

    • Dianne

I have had trouble with RR not printing…several times the reason was simple – their machine was not working. This may or may not be the case for you, but I always ask to talk to the manager. It surprises me that sometimes I know more about how the Walgreens RR system works than the Walgreens employees do…including the managers!!!

    • Beth

thanks sooo much Mina! I’m still a lil confused about the tax though I have to check thru my reciepts b/c I don’t think everything does get taxed here (pa). I didn’t know the in ad coupon didn’t count towards the number of coupons so this is huge for me! Thanks again.

    • MelRae

Just got back from Wags. I had a $5 RR from a previous transaction and wanted to do the Listerine deal. Well, I will admit that my mistake was giving the RR after I had given my 2 Listerine coupons. But my total after the 2 Listerine coupons was $6 and change. I had gotten a “filler” item of a clearanced box of baby aspirin for 25 cents. I am always fully prepared to pay tax. But my tax should have been only 86 cents. The RR would not even scan at all. They were trying to tell me that the $5 RR was “eating” into the tax I owed and I needed more filler items. And then an asst manager came over and said that I could not use manufacturer coupons in the same transaction with RRs. I know that is false. I believe I will be calling corporate.

I got my Listerine coupons back and I am taking my $5 RR to Publix.
