These deals start Sunday 1/17 at Walgreens. There are two freebies this week and a few other good deals. Walgreens is running the same Pepsico products deal as CVS, but I would encourage you to get it at CVS, it’s a little bit more of a deal.shoppinglist1

Thanks for posting Jenny!!! I see a few things I will be picking up… =)

• Sean

If you add the Neosporin coupon from the Childrens Activity Book then it’s free. Also, if you add the Sugar Free Theraflu coupon from the Diabetes and You booklet, then both the Theraflu and Lipton are free.

Planters peanuts also has a coupon for -$1 in the Diabetes and You booklet. Add that to the SS -$1/2 listed above and they are $.49 each. Buy 10 for $4.90 and submit the receipt for the Keep the Jingle in Your Holiday rebate for $10 and make a $5.10 profit!

• Becky

Thanks Sean! Love these kinds of comments! It’s usually why I check the comment area to see what other people have “dug” up. Gracias!

• LD

Thanks on the peanuts . Now i just have to find some more $1/2 coupons. Forgot all about the DB wags coupon for them.

• Karen Smith

Where are the children’s and diabetes books? I have looked around walgreens but cannot seem to find them….

• Joanne Horan

diabetes book is at the pharmacy. Kids book I don’t know but you can ask someone in the store.

• Melissa LeSage

I found the Children’s activity book over by the kids coloring books and toy area. There are 2 activity books, 1 has coupons the other doesn’t, so be careful of that.

• Lisa

Do you think they will accept a copy of the rebate form for the Keep the Jingle rebate? If not anyone have an extra or know where I could find one? Thanks ahead for the info!!

• Jennifer

I tried to use the Theraflu coupon from Walgreens and all of those from the booklet expired 12/31/09. Is there another booklet somewhere. Also, I don’t see a Planters Q so, I must be missing something.

• The Planters Q is in the Diabetes & You Winter 2010 mag.

• Dee Dee

I just need the complete list of items that can be used for the rebate, but when I tried to go to nabisco’s site it isn’t there…

• Shelly

I am new to couponing and I tried shopping at Walgreens last week. The clerk said the RRs that printed were the same as manufacturer coupons. So, when I tried to use them on subsequent purchases, he wouldn’t let me use a coupon from the newspaper and a RR. Am I doing something incorrectly? Or was the clerk wrong?

• Honey

You can use the register rewards with a manufacturers coupon from the newspaper. See the tutorial on this site for details.

• BamaFan

You can only use one coupon per item, so if you bought one item and tried to use 2 coupons that does not work – look at Jenny’s filler items – this is why she uses them.

• Joanne Horan

Its like the clerk said, you can’t use a rr with a manufacturer coupon because the rr is a manufacturer coupon. You have to use the rr on something you don’t have a coupon for and that is where “filler” items come in (because most of the time you will have coupons for almost everything). These are any low price items like say a candy bar that you will want to buy, in order to decrease your out-of-pocket spending. For eg. you buy 5 items and you have 5 coupons and your total is 10.00. Now you want to be able to “roll” your rr into the transaction, but you can’t because you only have 5 items and 5 coupons, therefore you buy a .25 candy bar and use 1 rr for it. Now you have 6 items and 6 coupons. It doesn’t matter how much the rr is for, the .25 for the candy will be deducted and the balance will go towards your out-of-pocket spending. Just make sure if you go back to buy an item that you don’t use the same rr for the previous one you bought – the machine will not give you rr for it. It might help if you read Jenny’s instructions on how to use Walgreen, Cvs etc. Its right there when you get on the web site. Hope this helps a little.

• Lori

I’m a little new at this. Why do you have to use filler items?

• Jennifer Reed

Walgreens will only let you have one coupon or register reward per item. So if you have Register Rewards and coupons that exceed the number of items purchasing you will need to grab a ‘filler’ item or something else you want to purchase.

• Sherri

I found this out the “hard way” on my trip to Walgreens yesterday. I forgot to grab the filler item soooo I couldn’t use my RR coupons! Yuk I need to start thinking fast.

• dottie

I picked up 3 ramon noodles that were 3 for 1.00. Thought I had 3 extra fillers there. Found out they rang up as l item. Watch that Ladies.

• Esmelda

Does anyone know if Walgreens will allow overage if you combine the store- and manufacturer coupons on the Accucheck Aviva? I know they don’t usually allow overage on a manufacturer’s coupon that is of a higher value than the price of an item.

• carolyn090

yes. but i dont think they give cash back , so you may want to have another item to use up that extra money ,at least thats how i do it.

• Ashley

Yes, but your mileage may vary with the cashiers. If you are expecting overage on your order, always give manufacturer coupons first then store coupons. It may be best to hide the store coupons in your pocket until cashier is finished with manufacturer Q’s. Some cashiers will purposely scan the store coupons first so that you won’t get the overage. Look at Jenny’s getting started guide where she explains this.

If you have overage, you have to grab something up to get yourself back in the positive. If you had $4 overage, grab something you want like $4 toilet paper.

• Ashley

Also, if a cashier trys to hassle you, I would advise telling them that you’re sorry, but the store does not require that you scan your coupons in a predetermined order.

• esmelda

Thanks, everyone. I did the transaction this morning with no problems. I bought quite a few things, and I presented the manufacturer’s coupons first. I saw afterwards that some of my RR’s didn’t print, but I’m not even sure if I want to pursue it with corporate. I walked out of the store with a lot of useful things for $3 (‘didn’t even use any RR’s to begin with). All in all, not much to complain about :-).

• Priscilla

I read this morning that Johnson & Johnson has issued a recall on some of its Tylenol products. It was on my MSN home page. You might want to check it out before you make any purchases.

• LD

There is more than Tylenol it is Benadryl Motrin rolaids some kid item on the list too . and a couple of other things. Same problem as the original Arthritis Tyl. just they tried to wait to recall them all.

• Is Tylenol arthritis on the recall list?

• Sean

I don’t know if the -$2 off Revlon Color Cosmetic product would work on the Revlon Double Twist Mascara or ColorBurst Lip Color. If so, they would be free after RR too. The coupon would expire on Sunday though.

• Becky

What $2 Revlon Q? Is it an insert or a printable? Sounds like it would work, though.

• Becky

Think I found it. SS 12/13 according to the Hot Coupon World data base.

• Chrissy

The $2 off Revlon coupon did work for me, but as you said, it expires today. I was also able to find a bonus package with 2 mascaras instead of one (still cost $6.99!). The only negative was that I didn’t realize that the $5 RR that prints is only good toward a future Revlon purchase. Oh well.

• Did eithe rof you happen to try the Revlon deal using the 3/1 Revlon Color Creme Lipstick in the “New You” Jan. coupon Book? Curious..

• Emily

Sorry, this is a little off topic, but I’m at my wit’s end! I have had no problem printing from coupons.com for the past 2 months. Then yesterday, I wasn’t able to print anything. It takes me to the “you need to install the coupon printer” page. I’ve installed and uninstalled the program at least 20 times, and it always says it has been successfully installed, but it continues to tell me I need to install the coupon printer.

This is driving me absolutely crazy.

I use a Mac and have tried both Safari and Firefox – won’t work on either of them. :(

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…

• Taylor

Try downloading Internet Explorer 8. I guess I was running on an older version and it worked when I did that.

• Grant

Internet explorer is not compatible with a Mac. I also use a mac and have been having the same problem. I haven’t found a solution yet, however, I have both windows and the Mac OS installed on my computer and I am able to print from coupons.com with no trouble from the windows side. I’m pretty sure that the reason i’m having problems with this has something to do with other software installed on the Mac side. If/when i find a solution, I will definitely post it on here.

• Sue

Try restarting your computer AND your printer. Make certain that you unplug your printer for about 30 seconds so it will restart. This works for me.

• Sherri

I love going to Walgreens now with all of the deals I find here. I do however feel like the cashiers look at me like “oh no here she comes again…”. Oh well I love to save money!

• Amanda

Ha! I feel the same way since I always have a huge stack of coupons and often have an “issue” getting them to go through! :)

• Sherri

I too have troubles it seems every single time but I just smile and say “but the ladies on my coupon site said it would work” and low and behold they make it work!! Thanks girls!

• Karen Smith

I often don’t get it right on the first time – so i go back and do a refund and re-ring getting it right….

They really hate me! OOOOOOO

• avenlee

HA! I always go back to redo the transaction the same day since I’m lucky to have a Wags right down the hill from me. But I always try to figure in when the cashier from the first transaction’s shift would be over. LOL I don’t know why I do this. Also the manager there seems to ALWAYS be working! He’s very quiet and kinda creepy to me. Maybe I’m the weird, creepy one!

• melissa

I go to multiple walgreens stores…they have one on every corner and that prevents the “oh no, it’s her again” syndrome. However, they are all getting to know me. ;)

• Sherri

I have to drive 20 minutes to get to the only two Walgreens around me and I try to alternate them. I do however notice that one has a much friendlier staff. I also started thinking that yes I do use coupons a lot here but I never shopped here before I started couponing so they should be thanking me for the money I do throw their way now…LOL

• JenGC

I have a Wags not a block from work. When they have great deals, I am there once a day, if not more. Now when I get in the one woman’s line she tells anyone that gets behind me “You can check out at the cosmetics counter. This is going to take a while.” She isn’t trying to be mean. She is a doll and she loves me but I sometimes feel bad until I think “well, it’s not my fault it takes so long!” LOL I love that Walgreens. Once, there was a print out of coupons and I was worried it was going to be a hassle and them tell me they didn’t have them. When I checked out, she pulled out her copy but they coupons would not scan. The manager told the cashier just to take $3 off each product (that is what the amount of the coupon was). She said “aren’t we going to get into trouble??” he said “This is a Walgreen’s coupon! I have to honor it! I am going to keep my customers happy and if they have a problem with it, they can talk to me about it!” I said “alright! You tell them to call me. I will give them a piece of my mind!!” LOL That manager is a riot.

• carolyn090

another website is reporting and extea 3.00 rr when you buy 2 glucose meters on the same trans. 2/ 5.00 rr and a 3.00 rr for buying them together have any of yall tried this?

• Courtney

yes, it works. bayer/phillips/tums/etc has a deal where you get $3 RR for buying 2 participating products or a $6 RR for buying 3. the bayer contour meter and the bayer breeze 2 both are participating products. i have done this several times. since i don’t pay tax until after coupon totals in my state, my total ends up being $0 and the machine spits out two $5 RR and a $3 RR. very nice.

• avenlee

Yup, It works but you have to buy the Contour and Breeze. Not two of the same.

• My Walgreens (Antioch, TN) will no longer take online/printable coupons and neither will three of the surrounding Walgreens. Per the manager at two of the locations, it is now up to the manager at each location as to whether or not to accept them. Just a heads up that you might want to check first before using printables.

• LindaB

The one nearest to my home (Plant City, Fl Thonotosassa Rd.) told me the same thing…I emailed their corporate office and the store manager called me at home. We ‘discussed’ this for over 30 minutes. He finally blew me off by saying that he would post a notice on the stand where they keep their store flyers so people could be made aware of their ‘new?’ policy. I went in a few days later to check…it wasn’t there. I didn’t get mad because he lied to me, I simply changed my 7 prescriptions to another pharmacy. I don’t have to spend my pharmacy dollars in their store but I will keep shopping their sales/freebies just because I CAN…and I WILL keep trying to use my IP’s EVERY time I shop there too. He may get tired of having to call me. These stores need to face it, IP’s are here to stay for a while, and so are coupon shoppers. lol

• Deborah, I know that the one near you – off I-65 and Old Hickory Blvd- take a right toward Brentwood from the interstate- it’s the one on the left, before you get to Publix… they do take printables. I used one there last week. Also, the one in Cool Springs takes them (off Cool Springs Blvd exit, over there near Lowe’s/PF Changs area) I used a few there last week as well.

• JenGC

I have used printable coupons many times at the Haywood Lane and Antioch Pike Walgreens (ALL THE TIME) and the Walgreens off Blue Hole Road with no problems at all! I even used them Friday. Which one told you that? And they are WRONG! I even used them in Goodlettsville at the horrible Walgreens.

• Alaina

Does anyone know if the Stacy’s chips will count towards the Coors Light rebate. They are not listed on the form. Thanks!

• melissa

I don’t know but I want to know this also…I bought the Stacy Chips from CVS from this last week on their sale…the rebate says tostitos so I don’t know if they count either…

• Farrah

I read up on the Coors rebate and I wonder if they will accept a printout of the form? I know most beer rebates require the original form only. Anyone have any ideas? Jenny?

• Gail

Can you tell us where we can get the Coors rebate form at?

• Leah

I was able to find the original rebate form. There’s quite a few steps, but you can do it!
(1) Go to http://www.coorslight.com
(2) Click the link “score prizes for 44 days” (bottom of page, in the middle)
(3) Under “Need an entry code” click on the word “here”, scroll to the bottom and it will give you a free code. Write the code down and then go back to the previous page, now enter the code.
(4) Now “create profile”. After you register, you can click on the “original” rebate you’d like. The original rebate is a bit different than the one that is posted from the link. Also, it states they are only going to issue 20,000 rebates for the $7.50 and I believe 5,000 for the $10 or $15.

• JenGC

Whoah talk about bad PR! I am glad that I wasn’t planning on using that rebate.

• Kim

Go to where Jenny has listed the Pepsi deal. There’s a link from there.

• Jesse

the neosporin coupon is for $2/1 in the childrens activity book! its a money maker!! :)

• JenGC

I JUST found that out! It says $1 but I left the store and saw that $4 was taken off ($2 for each Neosporin I bought) WOW!!

• There should be a 60 cents coupon for Lipton Tea in this week’s inserts and there is a $1 Curel coupon in the Diabete’s and You booklet.

Thanks for the information on the Coors rebate. I referenced you in my weekly post here:

• Marsha

There is also a $1 WAGS coupon on the curel in the diabetes and you book.

• Dena

Is there a specific zip code for the Zyrtec $4 off printable? I can’t seem to find it on the link! Thanks!

• Lisa

I used 31410 and it worked! Good luck!

• Lindy

on the chips and salsa- when things are 2/$$, the first one rings full price, second one rings up the difference. For example, say the salsa is $3 and the chips are $3.50. If you ring chips first, the salsa will ring up as $1.50. Therefore, when you use the coupon it will take off $1.50 for salsa. If you ring salsa up first, it rings $3 and the chips will ring $2. This isn’t always the case, but usually it is. The salsa is free no matter what, but if you ring chips second, the will ring up cheaper :) just FYI. I don’t know if they are going to take off $2.50, since it’s 2 for $5, or if they take what it rang up for. Hope this helps. I wish I had this coupon!

• Lindy

i just re- read that deal- is there not a coupon for the salsa free? if not, ooopps, sorry I didn’t read that all the way before posting :(

• Wendy

From reading others comments the past few weeks it sounds like I am not the only one having a hard time figuring out Register Rewards. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I went a few weeks ago when the Ritz and Triscutt crackers were 5/$10.
Bought (5) at $10
Used (2) $1.00 off 2 cracker coupons
Which would have left my total at $8.00
I also had a $5 RR and a $3 RR = $8.00 RR
The register took off the $5 RR but would not take off the second $3RR. The cashier said I went over was owed I had to throw in a candy bar for it to work. Does the computer not like your total to be $0 before tax? Did I need to hand them my RR first?

• Jennifer

When I did this deal, it did not take $2 off for the crackers, it took off 2.50. I am guessing the same happened with you.

• BamaFan

The cashier where I shop told me to always use the RR before I hand them the manuf. coupons. It seems to work better that way for whatever reason.

I’ve seen some post where folks think the Walgreen clerks are less than helpful, I have not found that to be the case.

• Here’s how it works- you had too many coupons for your items. The $1/2 coupons attached to two coupons, instead of one. So four of your items had coupons attached. When you scanned a rr, it attached to the fifth item, leaving no items for the last rr to attach to. You would need an additional item for the last rr. (It’s nothing to do with the total, but number of items vs. number of q’s)

• Joanne Horan

Well said. However today I bought some stuff and I made sure that I accounted for every coupon. I wanted to use 2 rr and so I got my filler items. Well, it turned out that I was able to use the 2 as well as 3 more. I figured that it was probably the coupon for the kraft mac and cheese (buy 3/1 free), but then again I also had the wags coupon on that too. Go figure. Also, I had the 2q for the curel and the register would not take the mc q, even though it took the one for wags – so the guy simply voided it out for 6.00 and put it back in on sale for 5.00. Weird math!!!!! On the mac&cheese, that was weird. The wag q was for .59ea, limit 4 – the q was buy3/1free, he clocked all 4 in at .59 which brought it to 2.36 and then deducted the original price 1/1.49 for the free one, making it a total of .87 for the 4. I’m a regular customer there,so I know all of them quite well which explains a lot.

• JenGC

I asked the manager about this on Friday. He said that the coupons that are in the flyer is not considered a coupon. He said it is like a sale price so they are not included in the 1 coupon per item “rule”. That REALLY made me happy. :D

• carolyn

is thas true for all wags?

• carolyn

most helpfull ! i didnt realize that the 1.00 off two would count as a coup.on each box , that you would need more fillers. wow thanks so much

• Jennifer

If you don’t have the coupons listed under the Tostito deal, I would check out Kroger. They have both these coupons on a tear pad on the chip aisle. Mine have several tearpads, so I think they should be easy to find.

• BamaFan

Walgreens is putting a lot of their shapmoos and conditioners on clearance – check then out – I got some great deals today. They moved them to a separate isle.

• I noticed the same in my Wags. Even the John Frieda shampoos where in the clearance aisle. Hoping to get a deal with my printable Q’s tomorrow.

• Are there printable coupons still on the internet? I can’t seem to find any. I did have a $5/2 coupon that expired today. The ones on clearance were the root awakening ones and they were $3.49 and then I also got B1G1 50% off (which I wasn’t expecting because I had asked a clerk if that sale would apply to the ones on clearance and she said no, but my reciept showed it).

• SmartSource.com has the JF Root Awakening printable Q’s. Even the $5/2 and I just printed another and it doesn’t expire until 2/16. My Wags has the Root Awakening shampoo for $3.39 each so it would make it $1.78 for 2!

• Shandrika

Thanks Gayla-I saw the $2.00 coupon, but not the $5/2. Did you use a specific zip to get that one?

• Yeah, I was wondering if there was a specific zip too b/c I can’t find it. Thanks!

• Try 37650

• Dang, I still can’t find it. That’s great that you did. Thanks for trying to help!

• Jen

I found some Aveeno shampoo and conditioners on clearance for 3.00. Got them for only .50 each after coupons!

• Krischa Pilcher

The Lipton Tea coupon from 11/15RP is expired 1/10/10! Bummer!

• Joanne Horan

Read the “deal Idea” on Jenny”s list for the theraflu and the lipton. they’re both free, so you don’t need a coupon for the lipton.

• pern

The walgreens in West Columbia (Columbia S.C) has the Children’s activity book on clearence for 50 cents. I left about 4 on the shelf located in the Clearence area.

• Shandrika

What does the Children’s activity book look like? Just wondering what to look for. Thanks!

• Search for it on eBay. There are a lot on there for sale with pics.

• Kim

I’m not sure i understand that you earn $10 RR $1 for 7-12 packs of soda. What do you earn? $10 or $1 RR?

• Kim

I found that I’ll earn $10 wyb $20 of Pepsi products. What’s with the $1 RR?

• Teresa

i may be wrong, but I read it as she’s only paying $1 for 7 twelve packs

• tina

Teresa is right $1 for 7 pks. of soda…sorry I should have put something in between the two :)

• I just came back from Wags and I got my $10 RR by buying the following..

• Susan Two

The Wags near Fort Jackson had a bunch of really nice sunscreen products on clearance for $2 (they were Walgreen’s brand, but compare well to the Neutrogena brand). (The same product with a slightly different SPF was $7 in the sunscreen area). I bought a bunch of those continuous spray alcohol-based ones to save for the beach this summer!

• tina

At my store the Aqua Fresh Toothpaste is $1.99 using in ad Q $1.99 = FREE!!

• michelle

Thank you, will check it out!

• Marie

I have a question, I’m new this couponing at Walgreens. I saw where Jenny posted the Dawn dish liquid is on sale for 99 cents at Walgreens( with the Walgreens coupon). I have a Proctor and Gamble Booklet with a coupon which states Save $2.00 on any one Dawn or Direct Form tm Refill. I was wondering could I use the manufacturing coupon for $2.00 to purchase (4) Dawn Dish Liquid? My total would be $3.96 with the Walgreen coupon and then use the $2.00 Manufacturing coupon from the Proctor and Gamble Booklet would leave my total $1.96, which is 49 cents per Dawn Dish Liquid. I can’t beat that, but am I using the coupon correctly. I just want to know before I go to Walgreens today.

• I believe the one on sale is just the regular bottle of dish liquid 10.3 oz that is $0.99. I am not sure if your coupon is for those. Usually there is a $0.25 coupon in the P&G booklets. I hope this helps. Sometimes I have to see a picture of the product to know if the coupon will match up.

• Marie

The coupon in the Proctor & Gamble Booklet says SAVE $2.00 ON ANY DAWN OR DIRECT FOAM (TM) PUMP. I’m assuming on any Dawn. But i have another coupon also in the Proctor and Gamble Bookley which states, SAVE $1.00 ON ANY SIZE DAWN or AND RENEWAL. I think I could use both of them on my purchase just as long as I do not have any overage. I will also use the Walgreens coupon.

• Joanne Horan

You’re misreading the q. I checked it and the little r in the circle does not mean “or”.

• Marie

What does the little “r” means on the coupons. I’m ne to this and just trying to figure it out.

• Mandie

usaully the “r” with a circle around it means “registered trademark.”

• Kimberly

I have a quick question. I have 2 $3 RR from doing the neosporin deal twice. Will I be able to use them both on the same transaction?

• Emily

Yes – just as long as you’re buying at least 2 items in that transaction. :)

• I went to walgreens today and purchased 2 Wet Ones($1RR) and 2 Neoporin($3RR) and neither of my Register Rewards printed but I didn’t think about it until I got home. Am I out of luck or if I go back into the store tomorrow and take my receipt will they give them to me then?

• Call the Catalina company directly: 888-322-3814. have your receipt in front of you, they need some key info from it, and they’ll be able to see if the machine was working and if you bought the right products. It does tend to take a few minutes for the call, and then you have to wait to get the RR, which takes 6 – 8 weeks.

• LeAnn

I’m in southern CA and Neosporin Lip health is $5.99 each so that scenario won’t work :(

• AngelaDH

The Ooltewah Walgreens had Shredded Wheat on sale for $1. Later I noticed the $1/2 coupons in today’s paper. Does anyone know of those boxes are larger than 10 oz? If so, .50/box is a great deal, I would think! :)

• Valerie

How is the CVS pepsi deal better than the Walgreens deal? I see it at Walgreens 7 for $11 or$1.57 each. CVS is 6 for $10 or $1.67 each. Is this correct?

• Maybe because CVS has a 5 off 20 coupon which lowers the cost by five bucks?

• Joanne Horan

Just a comment. Does anyone realise that there was a coupon that came out Jan. 3 for .55cents that is good for frito lay products? I know it has a picture of lay’s potato chip on it, but it says on any frito lay product.

• Joanne Horan

Oops. I also forgot to mention that if you only buy an assortment of chips, they work out to be about 1.25ea, before q’s and 10.00rr. There’s also 1.00 off (Jan.17) dip/salsa if you buy tostitos, so you buy 8 bags assorted chips ( include 2 tostitos), the dip/salsa will cost you .25ea. The chips will work out to be .70ea.

• Joanne Horan

Forgot to mention also. Pepsi is a better deal at cvs. You pay 5.00 for 6 cases using the 5/20.00 that was on iheartcvs site.

• Can you please explain how the chips come out to be so cheap? I think I am missing something. Thanks

• Joanne Horan

Simple. The ad is buy 20.00, get back 10.00rr. That leaves 10.00 you’re dealing with. Divide 8 items into 10.00 and that gives you 1.25 for ea item. A lays q came out for .55 on Jan. 3. It has a pic of lays potato chips on it, but you will notice that it really says “on any frito lay product”. so you are able to use it on doritos, potato chip & tostitos. Now minus the .55 from the 1.25 and its .70. Then make sure you include tostitos in that deal to get (Jan 17) 1.00 off 1 dip, salsa when you buy tostitos) which makes it .25
I bought 2 doritos, 2 potato chips, 2 tostitos, 2 cheese dip. Paid 14.35 and got back 10.00rr, which brings it to 4.35 oops. Of course you can work this deal anyway you want depending on the q’s you have, and starting off with 1.25 for ea item.

• Sue

My coupons say “on any one bag of Frito Lay Baked snacks”. Is this the same one that you used?

• Joanne Horan

That’s the one.

• Thanks, I don’t know what I was thinking. I think I was just really tired when I read your original post. It makes since and is a great deal. Way to go!

• Sue

I did my first Walgreen’s couponing trip today. Things went really well. I was a little disappoint that they were out of Neosporin Lip but otherwise, they had most of what I wanted. I did 2 transactions.
Transaction #1
1 Aviva Meter
– 9.99 MQ
– 5.00 SQ
2 Wet Ones
-1.50 x 2 MQ
1 Thera-Flu
-2.00 MQ
-2.00 SQ
1 Lipton Tea
1 Axe Shampoo on clearance for 2.99

Total Spent: 3.44
Gor RR’s $1, $4

Transaction 2
2 newspapers
3 Van Camps
-1.47 in-ad Q
1 Planters Nuts
-1.00 SQ
4.00 RR
1.00 RR

Paid 1.49

Total for both transactions was 4.93.
I would have paid 4.00 on my newspapers anyway so I feel like I got everything else for 93¢. Great trip! I will not hestitate to plan another Walgreen’s trip when I am going to be in the area. The closest one to me is 30 miles away.

• JenGC

Sounds like you got a GREAT deal! Especially for your first trip! When I first started, I had to pay out more OOP to get started. AWESOME! I am not sure if you have a Dollar Tree near you, but my Dollar Tree has papers on for $1. Usually the newsstand papers don’t have near the coupons that the home delivery does (I have home delivery) but this week they did! I bought 5 papers! woohoo! Anyway, thought you might want to know that. Plus, at one time there was a sign outside of my CVS that said Sunday newspapers for $1 as well. They have since taken that sign down (it was up for like 4 or more weeks) and I didn’t have a good experience in that store so I haven’t gone in to ask if that was a special or their daily price. Anyway, I thought you might want to know that there might be somewhere else that has papers on cheeper! LOL

• Sue

Yes, I was totally satisfied. I have been doing CVS and Rite Aid for a while now but this was a first. Thanks for the info about Dollar Tree. In the small town that I live, I have to drive at least 15 miles every Sunday just to get my papers, so a few more miles would not matter. I just called them to see if they sell them and they said no. Oh well! But I was really excited to get the papers from the immediate Columbia area because I believe that they have more coupons. I will have access to the Smart Source from the paper that I normally buy soon so that I can compare them.

• It was not mentioned but there was a Children’s Benadryl coupon in the Children’s Activity Book too! This would take another 2 bucks off that deal making each 1.50 after 2 manuf. Q’s the WAGS Q and the RR!

• Sorry, newbie here. I went to my local WAGS in Athens, Ga today and purchased the following products, but my RR did not print. When I asked why the associate in the pharmacy (Sudafed Products have to be purchased in Pharmacy) was very nice and called the manager. She said they did not print because it is $5 RR on $15 spent. I used coupons thus I could not get the RR. “You are trying to cheat the system!”

(1) Sudafed Triple Action $6.99
(2) Tylenol Cold $4.99
-$4 off Triple Action printable
(2) -$2 off Tylenol cold printable
Total Due: $8.97
Get Back: $5 RR, makes it 99¢ ea

• JenGC

Not true…at least at my Walgreens. And don’t you DARE let them make you feel that way. If they didn’t have the system set up to begin with, how can you take advantage of it? That makes me so mad when they do that. They do these deals to get you in and for you to buy more. Isn’t that deceitful in itself? Plus, if you dont want someone to take advantage of the deal, DONT OFFER THEM! grrr You let them know that….in the most polite way you can (which isnt too polite for me…working on that LOL).

Anyway, the RR should come out BEFORE coupons. That is the way it has always worked for me anyway.

• Lisa

Don’t they actually advertise in their ads that there are coupons for some items in your Sunday paper? I think that Walgreens makes their coupon rules up on the fly. Whatever they can come up with at that moment is the reason why. Kind of like the register rewards system…if they don’t want to take them they why in the **** do they give them? It’s all crazy, when I do a Walgreens trip I feel like I need to visit the Pharmacy and ask if they have any extra traqulizers they can donate to my cause….LOL with some of these “RULES” they come up with it certainly makes you think you need one. Maybe I will take up meditation and always meditate before I go in to a Walgreens so that I will be “calm” enough to hear the next “story” they come up with!! It’s great to save money and get things for free but somtimes I stop and ask myself is it worth my sanity dealing with Walgreens!! LOL

• Amanda

I shop at the Athens Walgreens and have never had any trouble with RR & coupons. I have never checked out at the pharmacy though.

• Ginger

OMG, write Wags corporate and tell them what that manager said. And then tell them how dare they accuse you of cheating when those deals are advertised in their circulars, and askif their manager has ever heard of false advertising. Or CVS. And then wait for the store manager to call you and grovel. I’m sorry, but that’s BS.
(I had a really bad experience with a Wags assistant mgr, and I wrote Wags and complained, and the manager called me to apologize. And he’s usually a mean one, too. But now he’s afraid of me, and goes out of his way to be helpful when I come in. I know that sounds mean, but if you had seen some of the prior BAD customer service, they totally deserve it.)

• Jeniver

Hi Ladies,

I am new to this, but Walgreens here (we are in WV) has their store brand calcium chews B1G1 @ $6.97. Use the $2 off coupon in the New you booklet. That make it 2.97 for 2. I really needed these this week so $3 was great! Thanks for posting all the great deals!!! I look forward to learning lots more.

• tina

Hope you can use this on the aquafresh at wags. combine with their in ad coupon for free toothpaste.

• tina

sorry about that printable

• tina

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong?? Just copy and paste the link :)

• Could someone tell me what I did wrong? Here is what I purchased:
(2) Neosporin Lip products $4
(2) Wet Ones Wipes $2
(1) snickers .39
(2) -$3 off Neosporin printables
(2) -$1.50 off Wet Ones printable
(1) $3 RR
Total Due: $1.25
I didn’t get my RR’s for either item. I called the store and they said that I couldn’t use manuf. cpns and RR’s and get more RR’s. I asked her to give me district stores # and they told me the same thing.
What did I do wrong?

• Natalie559

Hmm, one idea is- the $3RR that you used- if it was issued from purchasing a product that has the same manufacturer as either the neosporin (johnson and johnson) or wet ones (playtex) then it will not print another one by the same manufacturer. . .

• lori

my walgreens in huntsville has contour meters on sale for $14.99. there is an up to $30.00 off in the 10-25 rp and they are printing $5 rr. i walked out with four meters for free and $20.00rr. you have to purchase them in seperate transactions or they will only print one $5rr. (if you purchase all in one it will print one $5rr and one $3rr for purchasing more than one bayer prod in a single trans)

• Tausha

Lori, if you purchase the Contour and the Breeze in ONE transaction, you will get a $5.00 for each and a $3.00 for purchasing 2 Bayer products. So you walk out with $13.00 for each transaction. But you still did awesome!! I just donated 8 of them to Hospice and it made me feel so good!

• Courtney

i’ve been doing this quite a bit lately, too. a few times, i added in another participating item to get the $6 bayer RR instead of just $3 RR. last week the phillips liquid was on sale for $1.88 at my wags and i had q’s for $1 off. so i spent $0.88 per transaction and received two $5 RR for the meters and one $6 RR for buying three participating products. sweet! i’ve got meters filling up my closest, though. gotta donate them just to get some space for other things!

• Lisa

OK, I have a question on the meters….is this the current weeks sale? And if I am understanding correctly If I buy one Contour and one Breeze I will get two 5.oo rr? And if I buy them both together I get an extra $3 rr for purchasing 2 products? I am just trying to get this all straight before I go!! Thanks for the help

• carolyn

• Courtney

that’s right. it’s a month long RR deal.

• I just called Walgreen corporate office(800-925-4733)and was told that the reason that I didn’t get more RR’s from purchase yesterday was because I used manuf. cpn’s and RR’s(from a previous order). She said that if you used manuf. cpn’s and RR’s that your RR’s from what you just purchased would not print(you don’t get more RR’s).
I was told that by the store manager, district store customer service and now corporate customer service.
I will not be shopping at Walgreen’s anymore.

• JenGC

That might be under the “if you use a RR on the same item…aka same manufacturer…that they won’t give you another RR” kinda like if you bought Theraflu on a RR sale last week (hypothetical I dont know if they did that deal last week or not) and there is another sale on Theraflu with RR, if you use the same RR that you got from Theraflu last week, then they wont give you another one. But if you use a Nivia RR from last week, they would have given you another RR. I dont think it is a RR from ANYONE but a RR from the same company ya know? Yes, I agree the deal stinks, but I would rather them do this, than what CVS does where you can ONLY buy so many of an item period. But I guess they have to try to keep you from buying out the store one way or the other LOL

• carolyn

i have heard of this before . but it was like this… if you use manuf, coup or rr on an order they wouldnt print your rr.that some stores had changed the computer to do this . well, then why does their ad say coups in most sun papers are they taunting us . i also had a cashier warn me that if i used my manuf. coupons they may or may not print.then i just told her nicely i will just have to return all of this then .but they printed after all . its funny rite aides ad even tell when there are both store and manufs.to be used on the same product . but every single time i do the cashier has to call a manager over . this lady has worked at this store for 10 years that i can remember and still has no idea .she told me once your already getting it for this price.isnt that cheap enuff? and i know this has happened to someone else .you know the cashier who says no…just no you cant do that .she doesnt even try to scan the thing .so then it becomes an issue of time . do i have time for this? can i explain this well enuff that they will understand? is it really worth it ? this is why i think we need more teenage boy cashiers god bless em 90% of the time they just scan away not even reading the first coupon , unlike their coupon wispering counter parts .i m not a control and i know i am not always right. but cashiers really need to spend more time learning what the store does and does not take instead of just claiming they know it . sorry yall i had to get that out.

• Lisa

I am with you Shouts out to the teenage boys…they rule!!! They don’t have a problem with any coupon and never give you any grief for any reason…they do just scan away!! It’s great!!

• Savannah

Ok..I’m a newbie..but I saw in my Wags ad that Gillette has an offer on page 9 where you get a free gillet or old spice product when you buy Gillette Cartridges and there is a Coupon for $3 and $2 off in the P&G 1/17…Am I on the right track? I don’t see it posted anywhere.

• KMiller

yes it is on sale..i just did that transaction :)

• Cindy

We went to buy the Starbuck’s Frappacino 4 packs, and the register is printing out $1/1 manufacturer’s coupon per transaction. With the $3.99 store coupon and the $1/1 manufacture’s Q, we got more 4 packs for $2.99 each – that’s 75 cents each bottle. BUT you have to purchase the packs separately to get a coupon for each pack.

• Courtney

i just had a great trip at wags! here’s the details, if anyone’s interested:

3 bags tostitos scoops @ 2.50 each
3 tostitos cheese dips @ 2.50 each
1 tostitos salsa @ 2.50
8 gatorade G2 @ 1.00 each
2 Bic razor 4 packs @ 5.99 each
4 Quaker Quakes snacks @ .99 each
1 theraflu @ 3.99
1 lipton tea @ 2.99
4 planters peanuts @ 1.99 each
2 neosporin lip therapy @ 4.00 each
2 wet ones wipes @ 2.00 each
3 bags of walgreens candy @ .99 each
2 accu-check aviva meters @ 9.99 each

used these q’s:
-5.99 (B1G1) Bic razors
-2.00 theraflu
-3.00 quaker snacks (.75 x 4)
-2.00 wyb tostitos chips and dip (1.00 x 2)
-2.00 wyb tostitos chips, dip, and salsa
-6.00 neosporin lip (3.00 x 2)
-19.98 accu-check aviva (9.99 x 2)
-4.00 gatorade G2 (1.00 x 4)
-3.00 wet wipes (1.50 x 2)
-2.00 planter peanuts (1.00 x 2)
-3.00 WAGS bic razors
-10.00 WAGS accu-check aviva
-4.00 WAGS planters nuts
-0.97 WAGS candy 3/$2
= -$67.94

total was $20.xx, used $5 triaminic RR x 4. paid around $1 oop and got back $18 RR! i am very pleased with this trip! hope everyone has as good of luck this week. strangely, i did have one issue and that is that the computer would not take the WAGS $2 theraflu q from the D&Y magazine. don’t know why, i’ve done it several times before. i didn’t complain seeing as how i was getting all this for basically $3!

• corinne

That’s what happened to mine too on Sunday, the computer didn’t take the Theraflu coupon from Diabetes and Y..And I did this deal previously with no prob.

• Natalie559

It had to be the sugar free theraflu for the store coupon to work- maybe this was the issue?

• Courtney

i purchased the exact box of theraflu pictured on the wags q. i’ve done this several times prior to this week. it’s a 6 pack sugar free night time theraflu. my only thought was that i used the cosmetics counter to check out this time b/c i had my 2 kids with me and a bunch of stuff. maybe it isn’t programmed into that computer for whatever reason?

• Courtney

forgot to add, when the cashier scanned the q, the register beeped and had a msg that said something like “coupon not found in database”. weird. of course, she called the manager, and the manager said it was b/c i had used a mfc. q with the product already. the manager always says that when i have a problem. i have bought at least 20 boxes of theraflu with that coupon while using a $2 mfc q with it over the last couple months with no issue. oh, well. it was still a good trip for me!

• Claire

Jergens coupon (SS 12/6): anyone know if this works on Jergens Natural Glow??

• Sue

Could someone tell me about the “Free Salsa wyb (2) bags of Tostitos chips” that Jenny has listed? Is this a coupon or some other promotion?

• Tina M

It is a tearpad coupon. I found them at Publix at the end of the chip isle.

• Sue

Thanks. This sounds like the ones I had a while back that expired. I have the couponing “down pat”, I just can’t get in the habit of watching for them everywhere! Did not even look in Publix for this kind of thing.

• JEB

Ragu is on sale for $1.50…is that a good price? Food Lion is $1.67 now. What is it aw Walmart usually?

• Ginger

Where I am, that’s so-so. I don’t think there’s a coupon out right now, is there? I usually wait till I can get mine in the .80- $1.00 range, but if I was out and I needed it, $1.50 wouldn’t kill me.

• Jen

I can’t believe I went to 4 different stores today and none had the Neosporin Lip Health in stock. I was told it would be Saturday before they would restock. I am in the Nashville vicinity.

• Laura

I can’t get a 1.50 wetones coupon to print. It keeps coming out 0.75. What am i doing wrong?

• Same here, could they have run out of the $1.50 ones?

• Kim

This is my first time trying this. I tried to print off the 1.50 off coupon for the Wet Ones by clicking on it but what printed off was .75 coupon. What did I do wrong?

• Hi, my sister lives in Pigeon Forge, TN and I am trying to get her on board with couponing and she say that most stores do not honor coupons and she doesn’t have many choices! Does anyone in that area have some suggestions on store that do accept coupons, I know there is a Kroger, do they double up to .50? Also, is there a Publix in any nearby cities, she said for a good deal she is willing to drive? Thanks for everyone’s comments and suggestions, I love this site!

• Joanne Horan

Kroger doubles everyday (up to .50cents) but they might only do it for up to two same items in one transaction. They will take as many face value q’s and depending on where you live they will even triple (up to .39cents) We don’t have publix but keep reading the blogs for their policies.

• Thanks I will pass this along!

• Olivia

I went to Walgreens and did their Pepsi deal and was pleasantly surprised to find $1/2 coupons on many of their 12 pks of sodas!! I purchased 8 12pks @ $3/ea, used 4 $1/2 q, then $4RR I had from last week which made my total about 16, but then I got back $10 RR!! Also got wet wipes for free, and spent my $10 RR on pull-ups!! Overall a very successful trip!!

• carolyn

i know it would be great to be able to save those rr for next week. but my currrent situation just wont allow it if i spend ten dollars starting out i have to walk out of there with something i really needed such as diapers, pet food .so from week to week it actually cost more but we live from pay check to pay check right now . so rr are great but freebies are best.

• Olivia

I understand! We are in the same shape! That’s why I did it that way! We would have gotten soda from the grocery store anyway, but not that cheap and then with my register rewards, I bought Walgreens pull-ups b/c they were the cheapest and I needed them NOW!! And the Wet wipes were free b/c they were included in the transaction with the pull-ups which I paid for with the $10 RR, then got $1 RR back to save!! It worked out really good for me!

• Carla

I have a question- If I was to buy 2 items that are on sale via a Walgreens ad coupon, does the cashier need to scan it twice or will the register recognize that I have 2 sale items and automatically ring it in for me? Also, when there is an item on sale at Walgreens can I stack that with a manufacturer coupon? Thanks in advance!

• Joanne Horan

Its done automatically and yes to the second question

• Nancy

In my search for the childrens activity booklet (couldn’t find any), i found a “Triaminic child id kit”. It’s a small booklet on the photo counter. It has a 1.00 Triaminic coupon in it.

• Sherry

Jenny, I am looking for that article you wrote about Walmart not being a great savings compared to the savings we get at Publix. I have a few friends I would like to pass it onto, they are die hard Walmart fans.

• TammynSC

I’m still new to the WAGS stuff. Considering the Dawn. Will the following scenario work?

1 Dawn Dishwashing Detergent
-priced down to .99 w/in-ad coupon
-.25 PG coupon
makes it $.74/ea.

In other words, I can use an in-ad coupon AND a mfg. coupon on the same item? I always get confused concerning in-ad coupons and whether they count as a coupon when counting the number of coupons I have versus the number of items I have.

• Lisa

The Wags coupons do not count as a coupon, they just serve to adjust the item to the sale price. Both Manufacturer and Register Rewards count as coupons, but not Wags store coupons.

• Natalie559

This was a really great WG week for me, so thanks everyone for all the great deal ideas!!

Trans #1)
2 neosporin lip health, used 2 $3off coupons
2 wet ones, used 2 $1.50off coupons

Total with tax $3.30, received $1RR and $3RR

Trans #2)
2 planter p nuts, used 1 $1off man coupon and 2 $1off store coupons
1 aquafresh toothpaste, used $2off store coupon
used $1RR from above

Total with tax $0.19

Trans #3)
1 100ct lipton tea
1 sugar free theraflu, used $2off man coupon and $2off store coupon
1 accucheck meter, used $10off man coupon and $5off store coupon
2 5 ct pks bic lighters, used 2 for $5 store coupon
2 snickers
used $3RR from above

Total with tax $1.20, received $4RR

So total OOP was $4.69 and I have a $4RR left to use.

• Amanda

The wet ones is only printing 75 cents now..bummer

• Sandy

Walgreens would not accept their own coupon today! I tried to use their $3 off L’Oreal Preference or Couleur Experte Hair Color coupon which i got out of their monthly coupon book. The cashier said it was a misprint and I could not use it. Has anyone else had this problem?

• Jem

Hi – I just wanted to let everyone know that I am using all of my freebies this month to give to a charity collecting items to send to Haiti (meds, soaps, first aid and more!).

I just thought I would pass along this thought in case it can inspire someone else. On a tight budget, this is an easy way to help!

• Michelle

I had the 1.50 wet ones coupons but the register only took off 0.75. Anyone know why this would be?

• Anne Marie

Okay, I can never get Walgreens to work out like I planned and it is really frustrating! Today I didn’t spend much more than I planned, but wanted to post here to see what I was doing wrong.

Transaction #1
Photofinishing $1.33
2 Neosprin Lip $8.00

Used 2 $3.00
Total 3.89
Got back $3 RR

Transaction #2
2 Revlon Colorsilk 3.99

$1.99 Colorsilk in-ad coupon
$1/2 Revlon Colorsilk Manu q.
$3 RR

The register beeped and wouldn’t take the RR. The cashier said that I had to get another item, that was around a dollar, that it wouldn’t let me just pay .22, which is what I figured on. So I got a pack of gum that I could send to my daughter in Iraq, and ended up paying $1.59, not much more than I figured, but I would still like to know what I did and how I could have made that work.

• Natalie559

Hmm, well maybe this is why, 1.99×2= 3.98-$1coupon=2.98 so register beeped b/c the subtotal was $0.02 below what your RR was for??

• tina

I give them the wags first then the manufacturers coupons. And it never beeps giving them in that order.

• Sue

I think this is probably because you had too many coupons for the number of items purchased. The number of q’s cannot exceed the number of items. The $1 Q applied to 2 items so you still need another item to apply the RR to. That is why it did not matter wha the other item was.

• Anne Marie

Thanks everyone for your responses. Walgreens is just too much for me to understand. I do something wrong every time, and can never figure it out. I think I’ll just stick with CVS for now.

• avenlee

Does anyone know what the Maybelline New York Express Finish nail polishes are going for at Wags?

• AC

I was looking over a receipt from last week and noticed that they charged me twice for an Aveno lotion ($7.49) during the BOGO 1/2 off and so I paid for a Lubraderm and Aveno at full price and paid for another Aveno at 1/2 off, but I only got one Aveno. I called and the manager said he would look into it, but I was curious if anyone else has had this happen and actually been able to prove that they only purchased one.

• ColorSilk Hair Coloring

Noticed that WAGs has ColorSilk Hair Coloring on sale this week for $1.99 with the WAG coupon. Found $1.00/2 manufacturer’s coupon in the paper 1/17 can’t remember if it was SS or RP. I walked out buying two paying $1.49 on something that normally is $4.00 ea. Walgreens, You ROCK!

• Jodimaria

Just got back from my 2nd trip to Walgreen’s and it rocked! I had a $25 check for transferring a prescription (we just moved so they sent us this in the mail).

Trans 1
2 Jumbo packs of Pampers – $10 each
Oscar Myer ready to serve bacon – $1.99
Lipton Tea 100 ct bags – $2.99
TheraFlu Warming Liquid – $3.99

1 $2 off Theraflu coupon
1 $2 off 2/Pampers coupon
and $25 rebate check from Rx transfer
Paid $1.51 and got back $7 in RR ($4 and $3)

Trans 2
2 Neosporin Lip Health – $8.00
1 Welch’s Grape Jelly – $1.50

2 $3 off Neosporin Lip
1 .55 off Welch’s Jelly
Then tried to use my $3 RR from previous order. My total was some change over $3 but it said I had to buy something else so I got a pack of peanut M&M’s for .39 and it worked

.86 and got $3 more in RR…yea!

Can anyone tell me why it wouldn’t take the $3 RR in the 2nd transaction even though my total was over $3? Was it b/c I had used 3 manufacturer coupons on 3 items so I needed one more item to use the RR coupon? If so, is that rule listed somewhere? I don’t remember reading it. Thanks!

• Sue

RR’s are considered manufacturer’s coupons and Walgreen’s does not allow you to have more coupons than items. You had 4 coupons and 3 items.

• Natalie559

it’s written on the RR is you read the fine print

• tina

heads up…wag’s has some hair color on clearance starting at $2.29..Loreal, caroil, we have $2 coupons for these. Also I found some clearance cover girl $2.39 using $1 coupon making them $1.39..be on the look out for clearance items.

• tina

Sorry on the hair color I meant .29 for each lol

• Sue

I have 1.50 off Bayer Quick Release, making them free. I think they came from RP 10/25.

• MIchelle

Hey everyone!

I note the ACCU meter is on next sunday for 14.99 with a 5RR. It says up top that now it is 9.99 and you can either use the coupons OR the rebate. Is that because it is 9.99? Once it goes back to 14.99 could you then use the two coupons, 10 dollar one and the 5 dollar WAGS one, get a 5RR and still submit for the rebate?

Just curious on how anyone knows that buying it now for 9.99 with the two coupons will not generate the MIR?

• Virginia

Normally on these types of items you will not receive the rebate when the person processing it sees on your receipt that you already used a coupon to make it free.

• Dipti

I tried to print the 1.50 off the wet ones coupon but then it printed the .75 off.
