I do not like to leave Walgreens with a Register Reward. I can never remember to get back in and use it so I will probably use the RR towards the purchase of a monthly free after rebate item. Then you pay a lot less but get the full value back in your rebate.

    • Jenn

There was a $1.00 coupon for any one (1) nice n’ easy product, excludes trial size in our paper. So that would make it 2/$11.

    • Jenn

I like to save my RRs for the next Sunday’s papers, so I don’t feel guilty buying 4-8 papers OOP. Just an idea :o)

    • Lauren

I found some Shick Intuition Razors with the Dove trial size bonus for $2.29 on their clearance endcap at the back of the store. I only had one $4/1 coupon (SS 3/22/09) for the razors left but it would have been a really good money maker if I had more of the coupons. I bought all the razors they had (only 2) and got both for just 58 cents!! yeah

They must be having a seasonal change in inventory because they had a lot of stuff on the clearance endcap.

    • Lynn

I don’t know if it’s just the ones around here, but they’re continuing the “buy a Coke, get a free Hershey bar” deal through 4/25. The 16-ounce bottles of Diet Coke at 99 cents are my go-to filler items, so that works out very nicely.

    • Stephenie

Just went to Walgreens today. Spent $4.08 and came out with $4.50 in RR! Wahoo! Looks like I’m all set to roll some deals next week. Thanks for posting these deals. I really appreciate it.

    • brandy

If I have a register reward left, I use it at Publix. After the Huggies deal a while back, I had a $10 RR to use on groceries! My publix will only let me use one RR, so if I have more than one RR left, I use my highest one on my groceries. Hope this helps!

    • katy

OK, so if I buy the Bayer Breeze2 for $15 and use the $30 coupon, it’s a $15 MM? Sounds too good to be true!

      • Jenny

Katy- They will downgrade (or reduce) the coupon to $15 making it just free. Would be wonderful the other way, but they won’t do it. The computer beeps and triggers the cashier to enter a value.

    • Tamara

At Wags in Lakeland, FL, the cashier told me if I paid with RR, new ones would not print….anyone else heard this? She said it used to be you could pay with the RR and more would print out for your new purchases, but not any more. ??

    • Julie

I like keeping my RR for next week’s trip because I am a newbie. It makes me feel proud of my accomplishments to hand over all my RR to the cashier the following week. :)

    • Great job on this post. This site is a great resource for me when planning my weekly shopping trips.

    • Susan

I had the same problem with a RR. I bought the Colgate toothpaste for $3.49 this week using a RR from the same item I purchased within the week, and I didn’t receive a RR for it. I’m in Alabama.

    • Stephanie

I have the same question as another poster. At Walgreens, can I use a RR to pay for an item that should print a RR? My cashier said that I can’t use the RR or the new RR will not print??? Also, new a my Walgreens this week….I can only use one RR per transaction!! Anyone else??

    • Amy

My Walgreens only allows me to pay with one RR per transaction also.

    • Lorie

When I went to my Walgreens this past Monday, it would only let me use one RR and the cashier called the manager who said it was a new thing – only one RR per purchase – I wasn’t very happy.

    • Angela

If one RR per transaction is the new rule, that is going to be NO FUN! I’ll stop messing around with things that print small RR’s! My Walgreens has some grumpy staff, anyway.

    • Lorri

Jenny – you have the Skintimate Shave Gel listed as a free after rr. Wasn’t that last weeks deal??? Is it continuing this week??? Also, there is a Colgate Max White Toothpaste or Max Fresh Toothbrush in the ad for this coming week (4/12). They are free after rr.

    • Lorri

okay – I see now – Skintimate is a monthly deal for April :)

    • Mina

Yes, the Skintimate and Edge RR is a monthly deal.

I have really nice cashiers at my local WAGs. They’re patient and helpful.

The Bayer Breeze 2 (or Contour) Q is for the price of the monitor up to $30. The cashier needs to fill in the amount. Please remind them to fill in the serial number, as well. It’s important for them to do that in order for the store to be reimbursed by the manufacturer. I think we all probably want to do what we can to help our local stores stay in business. The serial # is found on the bottom of the package. I don’t know if it’s still going on, but there was also a Catalina printing out for a specific free Colgate toothpaste with the purchase of each monitor.

The registers don’t print RR’s ending in 99 cents. So, the one for the Edge/Skintimate is a $3RR. Make sure that you get the right ones, the ones in the new curvy packaging. You won’t get an RR if you buy one of the older packages.

Susan and Tamara, if you pay with an RR that you received from buying a product from the same manufacturer that issued the first one, a new RR won’t print out. In fact, the fine print on some of them excludes using them to pay for any product made by that company. You want to roll them into a different company’s product to make the most of them. HTH

    • Victoria

Where can I find the ad for the Skintimate RR deal? I’ve looked in both the weekly & monthly ads. I must be looking past it… Thanks!

      • Jenny

Victoria, It is an unadvertised monthly deal so you won’t find it anywhere.

    • Natalie

I went to Walgreens today and couldn’t find the shaving cream deal in the sale ad or the monthly Easy Saver Book. Could this one vary by region?

    • marcey

Jenny, In the working walgreens deal, how would you pay for the 1st $4.99? cash or RRs? Or did I just overlook it?

    • Ang

Can you qualify for the Lysol $3 mail-in rebate by using products from the B1G1 sale this week or do you actually have to pay for 3?

    • Suzy

I had an awesome cashier yesterday @ Walgreens.

First she warned me about using the Colgate coupon… said it wouldn’t print the RR if I did, that she had had a problem with it herself. We tried it, and sure enough, it didn’t… so we voided that transaction and started over.

Second, she told me about the new thing of if you pay with RR, it won’t print an RR. I had 4 transactions, and also use my RR @ Publix (something that I taught the cashier… she was so excited!), so that wasn’t such a big deal for me (but if Publix is gonna start limiting the RR to one per purchase… well, I’ll just do multiple transactions there, too).

I didn’t have the problem of not being able to pay @ Walgreens with more than one RR, but did hit a limit @ $25 worth of RR as payment. Couldn’t use more than that (I was buying Easter candy, btw.)

    • Julie

Does anyone know if the Publix in Ballentine/Lake Murray Landing takes RRs?

      • Jenny

They do! That’s my Publix :) and I love them!

    • Ally

I think you have to buy the newly packaged skintimate shave gel – the old ones are $3.99 at my Walgreens, and I got no register reward.

    • Kris

Does anyone know if Walgreens accepts Target coupons? They had a coupon for $1 off a bag of Chex mix on their website. I know Publix accepts them but didn’t know if Walgreens did??

    • Elizabeth

My Skintimate didn’t print a reward and the (very unhelpful) cashier just asked me where I saw it was supposed to, which I didn’t know, so I got nothing. Is there anything I can do/call besides return it?

Also, I learned the hard way you can only use as many coupons/RR as items purchased. Sigh….

    • angeline saby

i read in another website taht the brezee 2 will have a 5rr on the next add do save up those q then it will relly be a money maker.

    • marcey

Asking again, on the working Walgreens deal, how should I pay for the 1st transaction of $4.99? cash or RRs? I need to know asap so I can head out. TY.

    • Sharon

THE SECRET to getting and using RR’s, they are manufacture coupon’s, If you purchase a item with RR’s and you have a coupon for that item you MUST have a item that doesn’t have a coupon with it or they won’t take the RR or wont take the manufactures coupon without a managers override, You will lose out on one or the other. RR’s are company coupons NOT item coupons, so if you buy a item (Fusion Razor = P & G is the company) You can NOT use that RR to pay for another P & G item and get RR’s back. Same thing goes for the Tums = GlaxosmithKline I cant use that RR to pay for any Glaxo item that I would be getting RR’s back on. I tested this over and over again on Monday, the Manager of the store said that will help from making customers angry when they have to refuse a coupon, it’s not them it’s the computer. LONG part now the SHORT, COUNT your items as you shop, you have to count EACH RR as a coupon, you must have the same number of items as you do coupons/RR’s, I bought 3 packs of Tic Tac’s that were 25 cent a pack to fill my order. That 75 cent allowed me to use a 6, 6 and 4 RR with NO problems. (If you go in the store with 5 coupons and 3 RR’s you have to have 8 items when you ck out) Since I started this my RR’s have printed every time and I have had no overrides from the manager, just breeze right in and out. Hope this helps everyone understand this more. I’m loving my Walgreens oh and my CVS and MOST of All LOVIN LOVIN Southern Savers, Thanks for ALL your hard work and your helpers also.

    • Sandra E

Sharon – thanks that helps a lot!

    • You all who are using RR’s at Publix are really lucky…In our area, we were told that the RR’s are an exclusive deal between Walgreen’s and the manufacturers therefore Publix doesn’t get reinbursed by the manufacturer and lose money as a result. I had a couple of really low OOP orders at Publix before the word came down ( Supposedly from Corporate ) and I haven’t tried to use RR’s since then.

    • Also, If I had to use one RR per transaction as some of you have said, I wouldn’t get any good deals and not worth my time to do coupons at all…it’s one RR per item…I think…at least that always works for me ! Some of those stores need some serious re-training !

    • Stephenie

If you will read the fine print on your RR’s, it states that you must have as many items as you have coupons and/or RR’s. I use coupons all the time and always get the RR’s on the items I’m using coupons for. I also sometimes use more than one RR in a single transaction and as long as I have more items or as many items as q’s and RR’s, I’ve never had a problem. I will admit, though, I have an awesome manager and crew where I shop!

    • Stephenie

I just printed some of the Lysol printable coupons you had listed and they don’t look exactly right. They don’t have the part where it tells the retailer where to send for reimbursement. Are they going to accept these coupons? It has the barcodes and expiration date but I was just wondering about the other. There is a big blank space on the coupon.

    • Donna

I am very new when it comes to Walgreens and I am kind of confused with the easy saver rebates. I am just wondering how the gift card works and what I have to input into the computer that is on the reciept. Plus is the register rewards just like CVS with the extra care bucks?

    • Donna

P.S. I LOVE this site!!! Its the best! Thank you for ALL your hard work!

    • Amy

The trial size Dove deodorant is working for the buy 4 get $2RR, buy 6 get $6RR. I just got this deal today:

      6 Dove trial size deodorants $.99/ea = $5.94
      use (3) $1.50/2 Dove deodorants RP 3/15
Total = $1.44 and get $6 RR!! Moneymaker!!

    • Adele

My Walgreens always gives me a hard time when I try to use coupons on small sized items. For example they would not allow me to use the $2 coupon off the small boxes of Nabisco crackers a month or so ago. They said it was for full sized only, even though the coupon did not state that.

    • Amy

I figured I would give it a try since the coupon did not say it excludes trial sizes and the manager was standing at the register while the transaction was taking place. I didn’t have any problems – I’m in the Summerville, SC area.

    • Melora

I had a terrible experience when trying to shop at Walgreens this week. I picked out the items I planned to purchase. I handed the items to the cashier according to the instructions on the site. I was purchasing the scrunci hairbands and the shave gel. I expected to get $2 and $2.99 back. I planned to purchase the items with a $5 RR from my previous week’s purchase. The register only printed the $2 one. I asked about the $2.99 RR. She said that the register would not print it out if you pay with a RR. She indicated that the reason was to keep people from rolling RR. I tried to make the next transaction. This time I only planned to purchase the toothpaste using the $.75 toothpaste coupon and the $2 RR from the previous transaction. This time the cashier said that I could not use two coupons on the same item. She suggested that I purchase another item (so that I had two items on the transaction) to enable both coupons to work. By this time I was feeling very frustrated so I simply don’t worry about it. I paid for the toothpaste with the $2 RR and oop and left. This gave me a bad taste about Walgreens and am considering not going there again. I also think I will call corporate about this.

Any suggestions on what I did wrong? Or what I should do next time?

      Melora, Chattanooga,TN

    • Deb

Folks, here in the Atlanta area we did the Dove trial deodorants on the last Dove go-round. Works perfectly! Only problem is-so many of us out there now, hard to find 6 of ’em! God luck in the quest-and for goodness sake, please take the time to report any WGS’s store mgr. to Corp. if they paly with the store policy when you visit. It helps all of us in the end!

    • Jana

Does Walgreen’s take competitor coupons? It would be great to use the Publix coupon for $3 off Duracell batteries. At Publix it’s $9.99 for a 12 pack of AA and at Walgreen’s $9.99 will buy 16 AA Batteries.

    • Christine

      Can I do this?

      Trans #1 – Capstick 100% Nat Lipbalm $1.99 get $2RR
      Trans #2 – Scrunci $2 Use $2RR above, get $2RR
      Trans #3 – Fiber Tablets $2.49 Use $2RR above, get $2.49RR
      Trans #4 – Edge Shave Gel $2.99 Use $2.49RR above, get $2.99RR
      Trans #5 – Colgate Max White $3.29 Use $2.99RR above, get $3.29RR

Are all of these products from diff companies? Can I use the previous RR on the next item like I listed? If I do it this way I will spend $3.29 and have $3.29 in RR left for my next visit.

Oh, and if it works, do I have to remember that my $3.29RR from this week was on Colgate and that I can’t use it again on a similar product?

    • Stephenie

I went to Walgreens last night and did 3 transactions and rolled my RR and didn’t have any problems at all! Spent $13.39 oop and still have $5 in RR to spend! You must make sure you have as many items as you have coupons and RR and that you are not using a RR from the same manufacturer on a transaction where you are getting another RR from that same one. (For instance, last week, I did the Colgate toothpaste deal and this week the toothbrush, so I just used the RR from last week on different items.) I will admit that I do not even try the unadvertised RR deals such as the shave gel this week. If I don’t see a sticker on the shelf I just don’t bother with it. That way I don’t get frustrated and have to deal with returns, etc. RR at my store never print out until the transaction is completely finished, i.e., after my receipt prints out.

    • Stephenie

Oh yeah, I noticed on my receipt when I got home that the Colgate Toothbrush rang up $3.29 and the RR that printed out was for $3.50!

    • Fawn

My local WalGreen’s has Jane make up on clearance/closeout. And last month’s All You magazine has a $2 off coupon. I paid $1.77 (including tax) for a good mineral foundation.

    • Tammy

I haven’t tried to work the walgreens deals in a while because CVS is so much easier and enjoyable and I seldom have time or energy for both. Anyway, last time I was shopping there, if you payed for and item that was supposed to earn RR with RR it did not print out the new RR. I see in your plan for this week you intend to pay for your second transaction with RR and expect to get your RR. So has it changed or was I doing something wrong before?

Thanks for all you do Jenn!

    • Tammy

Ah I just read what was being discussed above. I guess that answers my questions. Thanks.

New questions though, does this mean that you can’t use any P&G RR for any other P&G item that should earn RR?

    • I’m new to this and I hope I make sense here. I now get that you have to have as many items as the total coupons/rr you are using. I also get that if you purchase an item that would receive a rr from the same company as the rr you are paying with you will not receive the next rr. Let’s say (making this up) that I buy a P&G item that will give a rr and I have a coupon for that product. The coupon will attach itselt to this item. Can I pay with a previous P&G rr if I buy a small filler item since the rr will be attaching itself to a non P&G item?

    • Sylvie

I had a really odd Wallgreens experience yesterday. I was buying the sunchi hair-bands, the physicians formula makeup and the colgate toothbrush. I knew that I would end up with 2 RRs at the end of the transaction. When my receipt printed, 2 Catalina coupons printed and the cashier handed them to me with my receipt. I ASSUMED that the 2 were my RRs (and I know better).

I was probably 6 steps away (and wasn’t moving fast) when I heard the receipt printer go again. I looked down and saw immediately that the coupons she had given me weren’t the RRs, but rather 2 of those odd-ball sorts of coupons that print when you buy certain items. I quickly turned around and asked the cashier about my RRs. She reached under the counter and said “oh these???”

I was TOTALLY suspicious. I didn’t want to say something because it might have just been a fluke, but it really didn’t sit well with me. I won’t be going back to that Wallgreens (it wasn’t my favorite regular one anyways). I was just wondering if anyone else has had this delayed printing??? I will be a lot more careful and make sure I’m getting everything before I walk away next time.

    • Sorry guys. I meant to end #52 with: and still get my new rr.

    • Sometimes it takes a minute at my wags too. And this is the one I like, so the cashier (who knows me :) ) and I always stand there and wait for them to print out.

    • Penny

The manager at Walgreens (central Florida) told me that the Easy Saver Rebates will be printing at the register just as the RR starting in May.

    • tonya

      jenny or anyone who knows,

here in alabama, everytime i go to walgreens they are out of the “edge energy” (which is the only shave gel or shave cream that has the register rewards sign next to it). can someone clarify which edge/skintimate products specifically are included in the $2.99 rr monthly deal. that would help me the next time i’m in there. also, can we only do the deal one time for the entire month?

      thanks yall!

    • Ava

The Skintimates is the curvy bottle. The Edge says “infused”. Since wags doesn’t have a card, you can do it more than once (just in seperate trips). Just make sure you don’t pay with the RR you get from the deal or a new RR won’t print for you.
      Hope that helps!

    • tonya

cleared up beautifully. thanks ava! i’m headed back tomorrow.

    • Wendy

Hi all, I’ve been reading everyone’s questions above…wanted to give some insight…

      1) As stated above, you CAN roll your RR’s as long as you are not using the RR’s from one company (ie P&G) to pay for an item from the same company that you expect an RR to print.

      2) You CAN use a manufacturer coupon AND an RR on 1 item. The trick here is the order in which you hand the cashier your coupons. For some reason, by using this order the computer counts the RR as a coupon and does not beep. The best order to eliminate any beeps or overrides is:

      Manuf Q’s
      ESC Q’s / In-store coupons

      3) For those newbies out there, if you use the above order you can AND will get “overage” that you can apply towards othe items. For example, a couple of weeks ago they had Sambucol for 11.99 or 12.99 (depending on your region), there was an Easy Saver coupon for $10 off and there was also a $4 Manufacturer coupon yielding an overage of $2.01 to use towards something else. **Remember whenever doing transactions that have items that will give you overage, make sure you have enough stuff so tha your subtotal before taxes is not below $0 – this will avoid any issues or beeps!

Hope this helps! let me know if you have any questions :)

Alot of the Walgreens don’t the shave gel that gives you a RR. I went to three yesterday, and NONE of them at it. For some reason the Walgreens aroudn my house (alabama) keep very low stock on shaving cream. Odd.

Where do you get info on “unadvertised” specials like the shaving cream? The Walgreens I went to this morning didn’t print the RR and I had no way of proving or showing an ad that I should have gotten one.

My Chapstick Naturals (botanical flavor) produced a $2 RR today

      Hi friends,
Just bought 5 bags of post-Easter Hershey Bliss eggs for 15 cents. Just taxes. I used 3 $1/1 coupons in the 3/1 SS, and two from the SmartSource coupouns online site. (Sorry, I don’t know how to post the link but it is also $1/1). Who can’t use free chocolate?

yes! it worked for me today. i got 6 of the trial size dove deodorants for 99 cents each for a total of $5.94 then received a $6 register reward!

they finally got in the edge “energy” (green and black bottle) that has the red register reward sign by it. paid $2.99 and got $2.99rr.

i understand you can do this edge/skintimate deal all month just not the same transaction and don’t use your rr’s from the edge/skintamate purchase from before or you won’t get your new $2.99rr. use a rr from a different purchase!

      yahoo! thanks jenny!

I went to Walgreen’s today and found ALOT of stuff randomly around the store on clearance. If you haven’t used all of your coupons yet, they had Schick Intuition refills/razor kits marked down to $2.89…the coupon was for $4.00 off. They also had Nutripals childrens nutrition bars regularly 4.99 marked down to 2.69 and I had 1.00 of coupon making them 1.69. Not a steal, but these items rarely go on a good sale, making it a good deal if you use these for your children. Hope this helps someone!

Please remember that the people working at Walgreens are there to serve you. Please give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are doing the best job they can do. Several employees have begun to associate “couponers” with character flaws like being demanding, rude and lovers of money. Let’s do our best to help them deal with the mounds of paperwork we give them. Props to everyone who has a good relationship with their cashiers!! Thank you!

Check out the 12 oz bottles of Sunsilk poo and conditioner. Our area has them clearance priced at $1.09 and they work for the $2 for 4 or $6 for 6 RR. They were just reduced today. My girls are now well stocked with shampoo and conditioner for the next few months ;) but I left some on the shelves at every store I went to.

I LOVE my local WAGS! The people who work there are friendly, helpful, and do their best to do a good job for both the store and the customers.

I am finally getting it together to be better organized with my coupons and RR by using my “baseball card holder” sheet. I broke down my transactions and put the manufacture coupons and RR that I plan to use in each holder with a little note as to what I needed to buy. When I got to the check-out all I had to do was pull the paperwork out. Things went a lot faster for me.

Is it true that you can only use 1 RR to pay for a purchase…even if the total is more than one RR you have?

I went to WAGS this morning looking for the Coffee Mate deal and it wasn’t on sale at all. It was 4.49 a bottle, not the 2/$3 I thought. Can anyone help me out? Where was this advertised and what can I do?
