Looks like kind of a crappy week at the WAGS!

    • Toni

My favorite shopping trip savings has to have been during the last HT triples. I had gone home to see my mother that weekend and they had just opened a new HT in her area. I had my coupon book in the car and she had been saving papers for me. I took her and she finally got to see my couponing in action! When we finished checking out, the total for $36.58 was only $0.11 wow!!!! Even I almost passed out!!!! It was awesome..I was so excited that she got to see a super savings deal!!! Thanks SouthernSavers for helping me stay up to date!

    • gini

Any idea when WAGs will have Knox Nutrajoint on sale again? I’m eager to use the $10 coupon they gave me last time with my $4 man. coupon.

    • tonya

if you buy the skintimate AND edge infused gel…will you get both register rewards?

    • Christina

Is it true that you can only use 1 RR to pay for a purchase…even if the total is more than one RR you have?

    • Amy in LA

Christina that’s what my cashier said, even though other people can use more than one at other stores. I emailed corporate with a question and they never replied!

    • sherry

i dont know but i need to find out the rule of register rewards badly

    • Melissa

Tonya, No. They are from the same company, you have to buy them in separate orders. And you can’t use the RR from one to pay for the other.

Christina, Cashiers tell me that, too, but at my stores is isn’t a RULE, just that they don’t understand how RR’s work. You’re supposed to be able to use as many RRs as you have items. One item = 1 RR. Six items = 6 RRs.
The item doesn’t have to be for the same or more amount. You can buy a .25 cent bit of Easter candy and still use a $3.00 RR for instance. As long as you have the same number of items.

If you’re buying an item that you expect to get an RR back on, be sure you don’t use an RR from the same company to pay. For instance don’t use last week’s Colgate toothpaste to buy this week’s Colgate toothbrush.

And, don’t buy more than 1 of the same item in one transaction. If you buy 2 Colgate toothbrushes in the same trans, you will only get one RR back.

    • Tonya in Georgia

I love your site and visit as least once a day to get my coupon news. Thank you for doing all the hard work for us and then sharing it. I know I really appreciate it!

    • M Rose

Hi!! I am new to this site but LOVE it!!! I had a terrible week at Walgreens. I have done the RR for a long time and usually do well-until this week. For the first time ever the register did not print out ANY RR when I used RR(I even went in a 3rd time to try to use RR on different items and still no go-even tried just using 1 RR). The clerk finally told me they have no idea why sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. I have decided to use my RR on B1G1 items and then just buy the RR items and keep it separate. They usually have milk on sale and I can always use RR to buy that!!

    • heather

Not sure about everyone elses store, but at my Wags they have the Organic makeup for the rebate in special packages that have a free mascara in them. Great deal for next week’s sale! Two products for free after rebate!!

    • Kellie

If you go to Physicians Formula website you can print out rebate forms for the bronze booster and mascara. Can you say moneymaker!

    • Shon

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but on the 7-up website you can print off a $1 Q for the 12 packs. This make is a very good deal since its 3/$11, with $5 RR.

    • Brandy

I did not have a very happy shopping trip at Walgreen’s today either. I had a $5 register reward from a purchase of Claritin and I wanted to use it to purchase the skintimate and one of the toothbrushes so that I would get more RR’s back. None printed and when I asked I was told also that if you pay with a register reward (from any company) you won’t get any in return. The manager confirmed that. The worse thing was that when I used my skintamite RR from last week to help pay for my Dasani water it printed a RR!! HA! The clerk, nor the manager could expain that one. I guess I will have to do the same as M Rose and just use my register rewards for things like milk or other things that are on sale but give no register rewards back and pay for my items that will give me register rewards.

I will say I like CVS much better.

By the way, this was the Walgreen’s in Lexington, SC.

    • Alison

I sent Walgreen’s an inquiry to ask about the specifics of the register rewards just now. Maybe I’ll get lucky and they will respond. If they do, I’ll pass along the info so we can hold it over he cashier’s heads when we shop. I thought it weird that I couldn’t find anything about this program on their website!

    • Erica

I went to Walgreens today and did the Edge and the Unilever deal and bought the Blue Diamond almonds. I used a RR from 2 weeks ago and it still printed the RRs for the Edge and Unilever.

    • Julie

I used three RR’s tonight with no problems what-so-ever. Also, I received three more RR’s.

    • Brandy

      Erica and Julie,

Thanks. Maybe it was just a computer glich like others have had. I don’t know. Either the way I didn’t get the ones I should and the manager wasn’t going to give them to me. Since they are doing away with the rebate and Easy Saver anyway, I probably won’t shop there much anymore. It’s just too complicated and I’ve just had to many problems there. I seem to do much better at CVS anyway. Plus I work downtown so I go at lunch to do my shopping and the people there no me and know that I’m coming in with a lot of coupons. They are amazed at how much I can get my total down to.

    • Chris

I have already emailed WAGS corporate about RR and they had my local store manager call me. She told me that if you pay w/ RR you wont recieve RR back. I have found however that its like mentioned above, just dont pay w/ RR from same manufacturer. Also, RR say Manufacturers Coupon on top of them, so you can only use as many coupons and RR for as many items as you have. If you are only buying say 1 toothpaste and have a coupon for it and try to pay with a RR it wont let you. But if you throw a .25 item on it will because then you have 2 items and 2 coupons. I go round and round with my store every week until I figure out all the crazy ways you have to manipulate things to get it right.

    • Angela P

I WAS falling in love w/WAGS, but last week @ WAGS I had a hard time. I wasn’t allowed to do multiple RR (always have in the past & was gonna do the Dove deal this time), so I had to buy one thing at a timeto use each ofmy RR! That was aweful! Then some RR didn’t print so I had to wait around while mgr spoke to home office. They did put what I should have gotten for RR on a GC for me though. I did wind up walking out with $75 for $9, but still not worth the hassel & time. My quick trip turned out to be twice as long!

FYI, I asked my WAGS if it was true this was the last month for Easy Saver/RR, they said they haven’t heard anything like that. Guess we’ll soon see!

    • Dianne

When Walgreens advertises a product as “2 for”, can you buy just one and still get the sale price (2/$5, get one for $2.50)?

    • Erica

Okay, now I’m having issues with RR printing. I bought 2 Nature Source cleaners and used (2) $1.00 off Qs. No RR printed. I asked the ‘manager’ and he said if I used a manuf. Q then a RR won’t print because I didn’t pay full price. Makes no sense, I did Unilever yesterday and used manuf. Qs and still got the $2 RR. I’m about to give up on Walgreens and CVS since they won’t let me use internet printables even though everyone else can.

    • Shon

I’m so sad. My WAGs doesn’t have the 7-up 12 packs 3/$11, they chose to carry the 8 packs instead $4/10, which isn’t a bad deal, yet I can’t use the $1 Qs to make it practically free. Oh well, maybe next time.

    • Heather

have you all seen the scotch packing tape for .99?

    • Christa

Jenny, if you visited Walgreen’s last week, the register printed a
$ 3.00 off any Almay product (catalina) – if you have 2 coupons from 2 different transactions, may be a great deal on the Almay B1G1 this week.

    • Christa

revlon – there are coupons that expire today – $ 1 off any color cosmetic and $ 2 off foundation or concealer. They are from an insert – maybe listed on CVS from 2 weeks ago from a Revlon sell (I clipped that week, so not sure what date they come from)

    • Shon

For any one in the Tallahassee Area that hasn’t gotten the Physician’s formula and/or bioInfusion rebates yet, you may want to go to the new store on Mahan. They have each on clearance for between $1 & $5 each. There’s also a $3/10 coupon in this week’s ad for this store.

    • Amanda

If your Walgreens isn’t closed yet, ours in Tennessee had a dozen eggs for $0.99 on Sunday only! Made a nice filler item!

    • Julie

      Brandy and all,

I read on one of these wonderful sites that WAGS is not really doing away with the rebates and Easy Saver they are making them automatic and you will get your discount at the register like CVS’s extra bucks! :) I am excited about this because I purchase our prescription from Wags and it is just more convenient to shop there. Also, I seem to find better deals there. I guess we will see what the real story is in a few weeks.

    • Debbie

      WAGS RR Rules:
1-You cannot use more than one from the same manufacturer in one transaction. So, no u cannot use both shave gel ones b/c the manuf. is the same.
2-You have to have a product to match up with each RR you use that does NOT already have a Q matched to it. For instance, if you are buying a an item and using a Q, you cannot use a RR unless you buy something else without a Q. This is when I buy from their awesome clearance rack in my store!
3-If you buy 2 items that have a RR from the SAME manuf, you will only get ONE RR printed. Split it into 2 transactions, but again, you cannot use one RR to buy the other b/c it is the same manuf.
4-You can stack a manuf. Q and a WAGS Q together and it only counts like 1 Q. So, you can buy a product and use both those Q’s towards that product then buy something else on clearance and use a RR as long as the RR does NOT exceed the balance due.
5-Your RR cannot make your total go negative or it will just beep and say invalid. In other words if you buy products for a total due of $2.99 and try to use a $3 RR, it will not let you.
6-It is not a computer glitch making these things not work. It is a lot of information and rules to retain and the cashiers are not educated on this buy WAGS at my store. My gals love me b/c I tell them why stuff doesn’t work. Last time I went in they said, “there she is, come here, we have a question!” It was hysterical.
      Have fun!

    • Nikki

I have never had any trouble using multiple RRs from the same manufacturer to pay for a transaction. This past Saturday I used 3 $2 RRs from Scuunci to pay for 6 Degree deoderants (which were on clearance for $.95 and earned me $6 RR!!) and a pack of gum.

    • Stephanie

I’m one of the lucky ones that has a WAGs on one corner and a CVS on the opposite corner across the street. Both are within 3 miles from my house, so I’m there alot. My CVS doesn’t blink an eye when I whip out a gazillion coupons, EBCs etc. to pay, but my WAGs gives me a hard time.
Last night, I stopped in to use 2 RR’s that expired yesterday: One was the Reach RR from a few weeks ago, the other was a Colgate RR. I had NO OTHER COUPONS. Printed on my RR it says that I can only use the same # RRs that I have items, but that I can use more than 1 per transaction. I did the Revlon BOGO and then bought some B&J Ice Cream. The cashier kept telling me I couldn’t use both RRs. I finally had to point out that the RR SAYS that I can use them both since I had 3 products and 2 RRs. Again.. she said the computer wouldn’t take them… but I politely asked her to try (no harm, no foul) and you know what… they both worked. She was surprised and stated that the system use to be set up so that they couldn’t do that. I think it’s more a training issue than a ‘computer’ glitch.

    • tonya

i’ve been going by my neighborhood walgreen’s daily (on my way to and from school carpool) and buying the skintimate/edge shave cream/gel for $2.99 and receiveing the $3.oo register reward each time. then at the end of the week i go and buy the sale items w/ a manufacturer’s coupon and a walgreen’s coupon. it has been working for me all month with no “beeps” or problems. i just make sure i don’t buy anything that produces a register reward this “end of week” time and i make sure i have the same number of items in my cart that i have coupons/register rewards for. i have a house full of toiletries and even some snack/household items. my husband has been bragging on me all week to his friends because all their wives have been emailing or calling me wanting to know about this site.

if your new to this…hang on…it took me a couple of weeks of reading the blogs to understand the different store “rules”. just make a habit of reading the blogs each evening and you’ll get learn from all the other couponers and save big time!

      lovin it in alabama!!!

    • tonya

“then at the end of the week i go and buy the sale items w/ a manufacturer’s coupon and a walgreen’s coupon AND MY REGISTER REWARDS FOR THE WEEK….”

i said it took a couple of weeks to understand the rules and i’m on week 3. forgive me.

      happy shopping friend!

    • jennifer

ok…i think i am missing something major!! i live in the jacksonville florida area and we do not have register rewards at our walgreens!!! does anyone have any idea why?!
      thank you!!!!!!

    • jennifer

hi….it looks like i have missed something major somewhere!!! i livein the jacksonville, florida area and my walgreens does not have register rewards?!?! does anyone have any idea why?!
      thank you!!!!!

    • Leah

I just left my Walgreens (which is one of the wonderful ones!) and I bought my daughter a balloon, a pack of hair clips, peter pan peanut butter (on clearence), edge shaving cream, physicians form makeup,& bandaids. My subtotal was 18.33, then I used 2 regular coupons and 4 rr and my final total with tax was $1.80. And I got back 2 rr ($2 & $3) and after I get back my rebate of almost $10 it will be a good money maker!

    • Christen

Walgreens is offering 15% or 20% off today for earth day plus a free tote! http://www.walgreens.com/dmi/onlineoffers/default.html?ban=flh1_earth_day

    • Julieann

I didn’t realize this but Pringles are on sale 2/$3, with in-ad coupon. There are two $1 off coupons in the P&G $120 booklet. Combined with the 15% discount today (Earth Day), I received 4 cans of them for .27 cents each!!

I also found some clearanced Pringles which probably would have worked too for cheap pringles.

The Edge Infused is a money maker with 15% discount and RR; as well as the Glade candles with 15% discount, $4 coupon and $2 Easy Saver coupon.

    • Dawn

Physician’s Formula products are 40% off this week. If you haven’t submitted for the $10 rebate on organic wear products, you can get 2 mascaras ($9.99 reg price – 40% = $5.99 each), use $1 off man. coupon from this past Sunday’s paper…$11.98 – $1 = $10.98, and then get $10 (or $10.60 on GC) rebate back…2 mascaras for $.38-$.98. I’m sure there are other scenarios that will work well, too.

    • Brandi

I am also one of the lucky ones since here in OKC we have almost all of our wags ans CVS’s across the street from each other. I have 4 within a 12 mile radius from me and all 4 Wags are across the street from a CVS. So I make a trip to one I got no excuse not to go to the other..LOL

    • Angela

      WOW! I did the 3 12 pks for $11, $1 off Q, 15% off Earth Day Q.
Got the $5 RR and used that on some small toys and a coke that got me a free candy bar. And a free reusable bag per order with that 15% off Q. I’d printed two just in case they’d take them, which they did!
We’ve got sodas and a birthday present!

    • Alison V.

here is the link to all the rebates…
I just spoke with a very nice woman at the rebate center about this elusive “try me free” label you have to have in order to get the rebate. She said that WAGS and CVS may be selling out of those items and to try another store. She also agreed with me that I should contact Phys Form and tell them they shouldn’t make it so difficult to try one of their products if they are trying to get new customers. I’ll be taking back the mascara I bought b/c I forgot about the sticker and it’s not on there!

    • tonya

the dry idea is on clearance for $2.29 instead of the $1.19 posted above here in montgomery al. not a steal but w/ a @2 off coupon it’s a good deal. only 29 cents…regular price is $4.99.

    • Kristen

Has anyone tried using 3RR from the Aveeno shampoo deal to buy the edge shave gel?? If so, did you receive your 2.99 RR????

Also, if anyone is in the Columbia, SC area, there was a $3 off $10 purchase on my Walgreen’s ad this past Sunday. It is only good at the Garner’s Ferry Road Walgreen’s (it is a grand opening coupon)…Just FYI :)
