Next week at Walgreens there are a few good deals to be found. I have worked up a scenario to include the free deals for the least out of pocket. Thanks to Beth for compiling these deals (with our lack of internet this was a huge help!!).

Working Walgreens. This is an example of how to “roll” RR to pay the least out of pocket. You want to use RR from one transaction to pay for the next transaction. The small fillers are required since the RR are considered a coupon and you can’t use more coupons than you have items for. For other tips and tricks at Walgreens read this.

    • Esmelda

Thank you for all the hard work in compiling the great deals. It’s a big help to my weekly shopping and saving. FYI: The $3 clip-on mosquito protection coupon is for CVS.

    • lynn

win dixie has a tear pad for a 1.00 of any two twelve packs

    • Kristina from Kennesaw

      Carefree printable is over…Bummer

    • Kelly

Question for you….I thought I saw somewhere that the Bayer Glucose Monitor deal ($5 RR) from a couple weeks ago was a month long deal. Does anyone know if the RR is still printing for these? I still have a couple coupons left!

    • donna

Yea will the 3$ off coupon for thw “OFF clip-on” work if its from CVS?

    • Lela

I bought a Breeze 2 Meter yesterday (the 14th), and the RR printed.

    • Julieann

Good point on the Off $3 q….it says in the fine print to redeem at CVS only and it doesn’t have a standard bar code that starts with “5” so I don’t think it’ll work.

    • Michele

This site is fantastic! Thanks to Jenny and all her helpers for their hard work and knowledge. I am new to couponing – does anyone know when they say $RR wyb $10 of product – is the $10 before or after you use your coupons?

      • Jenny

That is $10 before coupons! Makes it a much better deal :)

    • Honey

Thank you for all the details!

    • Jennifer

I want to thank you for helping us all out. I went the other day to Walgreen and was asking the crasher about the RR and the manager came up and told me not to ask Questions or do more then one transaction because she has customers to help and she does not know everything. And there was no one behind me. So thanks for the help i think i under stand it now.
      Jen K

    • Jenn

Your plan looks great–I think I might try it out, with just a few adjustments, since the RRs I have on hand are Colgate, and I can’t use them on Colgate. One thing I noticed–I think you’ll actually have $5.50 in RR at the end, since you don’t use the $2.50 Bayer one anywhere. Or am I just missing it? Thanks for all your hard work!:)

    • Denise

If I buy 2 Dry Ideas in the same transaction will 2 $5 RRs print?

      • Jenny

The limit is one, so if you buy 2 you will only get one RR to print. You also can’t use the RR that prints to pay for another one.

    • Robin

Can you buy 2 Off Mosquito Clip Ons and use the B1G1 Coupon as well as 2 $2 off coupons? I just don’t know if that is allowed.

    • When I shop at Walgreens they are almost always out of the Items that print RR’s. They give rainchecks but if they don’t get the products before the sale ends you don’t get the RR’s. And that defeats the whole purpose.

    • Kareen

Shirley, I know just what you mean..its kind of annoying b/c now the only way for me to be sure to get the products that I need to print RR’s, I have to be at the store very early Sunday mornings! Thats no fun…I think part of the problem with that too is that some people go in and purchase half the shelf(LOL). Well, what can you do?

    • Debbie

I do that. It depends on your cashier and the manager. If you get a cashier that does not question it, it will go through. If you have one that decides they want to say it’s not the companies policy, they may not. I was at Walmart the other day and they would not take coupons I had that were RIGHT b/c they said they were worried they’d get written up. I didn’t get angry, their just worried about their jobs but I hardly ever get good deals at Walmart and never use Q’s there, now I know why!

    • Leslie

Can anyone help me with the tearpad’s for the bayer coupons at CVS and Walgreens? I’ve looked at two CVS’s and one Walgreens and couldn’t find them at any of those. I’ve been looking on the aisle’s with the Bayer products….am I looking in the wrong place or are these not available in my area (North Carolina- near Charlotte).

    • Katherine

when jenny uses the register rewards from wags at publix, is it considered a competitor’s coupon? Since it has listed that it is a manufacturer’s coupon on the RR, does Publix get reimbursed? I have 4 register rewards that expire tomorrow and nothing on this week’s ad that I need. Was gonna use them at publix for the first time and wanted my answers ready for any questions from publix

      • Jenny

That Register Rewards are not really a competitor coupon. If your Publix store submits them to the clearing house they will be reimbursed for them. Many stores assume they are competitors and do not submit them :( So it really depends on your store whether it is a competitor or just another manufacturer coupon.

    • Katherine, I have used rr’s at my Publix and my Publix does NOT take drugstore q’s as competitor q’s. They scan the rr’s and they work perfectly. It is my understanding that Publix is reimbursed by the manufacturer for these.

Leslie- at my Wags the Bayer quick Release 4packs are on their own little display and there are slots for coupons- they’re not a tearpad, they’re individual coupons (kind of thick material). Good luck!

    • Our papers had $6/1 Sense & Spray!! These were inserts I got from the recycle bin, so I don’t even know what insert they came from, b/c some of our inserts had the $4/1 q’s. yay!

    • tonya

if you got any glade plug in scented oil warmers lately…open the boxes. i found two coupons for “FREE glade plugins scented oil lasting impressions up to $10.99” coupons in 2 of the five i had purchased earlier (sorry i don’t remember the date or store). these are paying a $1.50 RR at walgreens this week.

      love it!

    • tonya

jenny or any other seasoned wags couponer,

if you buy the ball park franks at b1g1 ($1.65 each), does each package of franks count as an item? i ask because from what i understand you have to have the same number of “items” as you have “coupons AND register rewards combined”.

      • Jenny

With the Ball Park you would have 2 items and one coupon so you would be able to use a RR without needing a filler item!

    • Christie

Tonya- Yes, every item you purchase count towards your “item total.” And, yes, you are correct about the number of coupons and register rewards combined cannot exceed the number of items you are purchasing.

Re: lysol toilet bowl cleaner: in Atlanta, our paper has the lysol coupons, but none of them are for toilet bowl cleaner. The closest I can get is “bathroom cleaner” and it shows a picture of a can of spray bathroom cleaner. I know I cannot use this coupon for toilet bowl cleaner. Did others of you get toilet bowl cleaner coupons in the 4/26 SS?

    • Kathleen

I have a $6 RR from the Roots of Nature hair deal last week that I plan to use in the following way:
      Colg V White TP 4.49
      Bic Lighter 2.99
      ————- = 7.48
      -1 Colg MFQ
      -1 Bic MFQ
      ————- = $5.48

so, I would need a small filler item > $0.52 to bring total up to
$6.00 to use the RR and would get back RR for $4.49 and $1.00!

I will probably buy two newspapers, since I don’t get delivery and end up spending $2.50 oop, so that would mean I got $0.50 off the cost of those.
      Thanks Jenny!!!
You make figuring these deals out EASY (even my husband can understand and math is not his strong suit, he brags to everyone about the deals I am getting)
      Central FL

    • Thanks to everyone for their comments…I learn so much on this site and Jenny, you’re awesome ! I can’t imagine myself doing this work on here and raising a young family too LOL

Yet another Ho-Hum week at Walgreens ! Benefiber and Skintimate are all I’m going for.

    • Priscilla

      I did 2 transactions today and ended up making a $4.36 profit. They were – Transaction #1: (1) Bayer Quick Release $2.49,(1) Dasani Water $1.49, Total: $3.98 + .15 tax = $4.13. Used $1.50 Bayer Q and $2.00 RR, Final total = .63, received $2.50 RR, total cost $ .13
      Transaction #2: (2) Splenda @ $2.99, (1) Skintimate @ $1.99, (1) Colgate T/P @ $4.49, (3) Aveeno Lotion @$2.39 (price includes 20% off), (1) pkg WAGS tissues @ .29 = $19.92 + .84 tax = $20.76. Used (2) $1.00 Splenda q’s, (1) .75 Skintimate q, (1) $1.00 Colgate q, (3) $2.00 Aveeno q’s, (1) $2.50 RR from above. Final total = $8.51 oop, received $5.50 in RRs and Aveeno travel kit valued @ $10.00 for a profit of $4.49. Combined with transaction #1 = profit of $4.36 :)

    • Jenny

I was at Walgreens today and they have a sign taped to the counter. “If you use registar rewards or manufacturer’s coupons, registar rewards will not print” That is crazy because I used both registar rewards and coupons in two different orders and my registar rewards printed fine. I guess they are trying to scare people from rolling their registar rewards. Just thought that I would let you know that mine printed fine.

Thank you for all that you do for us!

    • I used manufactures coupons and RR’s and my RR’s still printed.

Anyways, I wanted to let you know that my Walgreens was giving out a littl egift bag with over $50 in coupons in at along with samples. I found mine while checking out at the beauty counter. Ask the cashier to see if your Walgreens has these fabulous bags of FREE coupons!

    • Katherine

The cashier at my walgreens told me that if i used my coupons and rr that I would not get new register rewards. I knew it would work so just told her my rr expired today (which they did) and I had to use them. THEN……surprise, surprise, I got ALL of my register rewards.

    • MaddiesMom

Both of my local Walgreens always give away those little bags of samples and coupons when checking out at the beauty counter. They don’t tell you about them unless you do check out there. Nice little perk I found when the regular register lines were forever long.

    • Sherry

Hi, Our Wags paper had Oscar Meyer weiners BOGO @ $2.99 instead of:

Ball Park Franks B1G1 at $3.29
-$1/2 Ball Park Franks, RP 5.17 (makes it $1.14 ea)

When I went in I looked in the cold case just to be sure, & there were not any Ball Park franks @ all. :(

I’m just outside of B’ham, anyone else from around here found the elusive Ball Park franks???

    • Shannon in ATL

Did the Clip on Mosquito deal today and cashier said the B1g1F coupon had a max value of $5.

    • Tammy

Hi! Got the Dry Idea Clinical at Walgreens today…opened the box to check it out…and printed inside the box is a coupon for $2.00 off next purchase! Woohoo! Gonna be stocking up on some deodorant between Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid!

    • meg

I got a bunch of coupon match deals from today’s paper. (Houston) There were Sally Hanson coupons in my paper today, for I think $2 off. There have also been so many Bic Soleil razor coupons lately and those are on sale now as well. I also used 2 of the Q-tip coupons that were in the paper today and combined those with the 2 packs for $4. I won’t have to buy Q-tips again for a LONG time! Also, I used 2 $1.25 off coupons on the Degree deodorant.

I didn’t do any rolling, but I got about $55 worth of stuff for about $19 after subtracting the $6 in RR.

    • Dee

Hey! I went to a different Walgreen’s today and needless to say I will not be going back to that one. I am tempted to call and make a complaint. I did get a glade sense and spray used a $4 coupon got the 1.50 rr. second transaction 1 bic lighter, and small pack of soft cookies (filler item) used 1 coupon and 1.50 rr got back 1 rr. 3rd transaction 2 glade sprays, 1 packing tape needed this and small pack of candy (filler item), used a 1 coupon, 1 rr, and 99 walgreen’s coupon for the sprays. total spent $11.46 saved 13.60. Cashier was rude and not happy that I had more than one transaction, also put all my items in one bag so my cookies are mush. What really started it off was the straps on all the buggies were either broke or jammed so when I asked the cashier about it, he just stated I needed to find another buggy. So my 11 month old almost fell out of the buggy while I was shopping because there was no restraint to keep him in. Sorry for the rant will be going to my normal Walgreen’s from now on.

    • tonya

here in montgomery al it is “oscar meyer” hot dogs bogo…not ball park. even the picture in our ad is different from the ad above.

YEY!!!!! thank you jenny (#35)for responding to my question about the bogo hot dogs and rr’s. i feel good about tomorrow.

    • tonya

      christie (#25),

you might try http://www.lysol.com for the toilet bowl cleaner coupons. i have gotten some there before but i have printed my limit…boo hoo. there is also another link w/ lysol products called home solutions that i printed some from once. i don’t remember the link but you might.

    • Natalee

I live in AL and didn’t get the Lysol toilet bowl cleaners, so thanks for the link!!

Also, my Off B1G1 Coupon for the Starter Kit states that it has a value of up to $10…hmmmm I printed mine from the link Saturday.

    • Laureen

wow! I had a customer tell me about this when i was ringing her up. I work at walgreens and i’m a beauty advisor. I always try to help my customers by giving them free samples or using coupons for them i clip myself, so this is nice. I always enjoy seeing adn helping people save money. No one ever realizes how much money you can save with coupons are looking for the right deals…

    • Leslie

Kelly- I bought a Breeze 2 today and got my $5 RR…the sign said RR will print through 5/30!

    • Kristen

I am starting to think Walgreens is just not worth the trouble..or maybe it’s just the Walgreen’s I’ve been shopping at. Please help me understand what I’m doing wrong:

Went in today and made two transactions:

Transaction 1 – Bought skintimate shaving cream. Used coupon for 75 cents off. Owed $1.38 with tax. Got $1 RR.

Transaction 2 – Bought Dry Idea Clinical Strength. Attempted to use $1 off coupon from paper AND $1 RR I just earned. The register beeped and said that the coupon exceeded the item value. The very nice cashier called the manager over and he not very politely told me that I couldn’t used a RR and coupon in the same transaction.

      IS THIS TRUE???

Also, just wanted to confirm that I can use RR at Publix…off my total bill, not a specific item. Example, I have a $5 RR for the Dry Idea from above. I can go into Publix and buy $6 worth of cereal and use the $5 RR for $5 off my total purchase?

    • Lisa

I was at Walgreens today spending some RR that were going to expire and took the opportunity to buy some deals and some items we just were in dire need of. I stumbled on a tube of Crest Pro-Health toothpaste for $2.99 that came with a free bottle of Crest Pro-Health Rinse. After I got home I opened it up and inside were $10.00 in usuable coupons (1.00 off floss, 1.00 off rinse, 1.00 of toothbrush, and 7.00 of Crest Whitestrips…WOO HOO!!

    • Leah

I went to Walgreens last night and they had degree deodorant on sale for $1.09, then I had (2) $.75 off 1 coupons and much to my surprise I recieved a $2 rr. They were on a clearence endcap at mine so keep your eyes out for them. :)

    • Reagan

      Hi everyone,

I am new to this but I went to Wags yesterday with what i thought was a good plan and nothing worked out but i can’t figure out why. Maybe someone could help?

      This was my plan.
      1. Buy Edge gel for 1.99
      -.75 coupon
      Buy .99 cent aluminum foil

Pay with previous week 2.00 RR and get 1.00 RR back.

This worked. Next transaction is as follows:
      2. Buy Bayer Quick Relase for 2.49
      – 1.50 coupon
owe. 99 and use 1.00 RR to pay.

I was not allowed to use my RR’s to pay so i panicked, paid cash and went to my next transaction.

      3. Right guard Pro for 5.99
      -1.00 coupon
owe 4.99 and use 2.50 in RRR from transaction 2 to pay.

Again not allowed to use the 2.50 RR so i paid 5.54 in cash.

I went to my walgreens today and was told you can’t use a RR and a manufacturer coupon at the same time. So for my third transaction i should not have used my $1 coupon only the $2.50 RR. Is this true?

Can you use multiple RR receipts for the same item? I have 4 RR printouts totalling $12. Can i go in and use all of them to pay for diapers? I would think that would be like using one RR and one manufacturer coupon.

I really appreciate it if someone can answer so i don’t have to drag my little one down there to talk to someone again.

      Thanks! Reagan

      • Jenny

What happened is that RR are considered coupons too so on trans 2 and 3 you only had one item but were trying to use 2 coupons. Next time grab a small 5 cent item so that you have 2 items and the computer will let you use the RR to pay.

    • Linda

When I tried to pay for an item that was supposed to earn RRs with last week’s RRs, the new RRs did not print. I talked to the manager who said this was the policy. He said I may only use last week’s RRs to pay for items not earning RRs this week. Suggestions?

    • nancy

Oh, I get it Have to have item per coupon this includes the RRs. I now undersand. I did one trans but only but the Toothpast used Q. That went ok 4.50 RR. I did not buy the bayers since no have Q. Trans 2 Bought 2 items 1 dry idea and Lysol. Then used TWO Q RR4.50 and Lyaol Q .50 off. then I tried to use the $2 off Dry Idea but the cashier said no it would not work. Os next time I need 3 items for 3 Qs right?? So that is what you mean by a filler. I thought maybe I had handed the Q in a wrong order or somthing. What An EYE opener Jenny. you have to have the “SAME NUMBER OF COUPONS AND REGISTER REWARDS COMBINED…AS YOU HAVE ITEMS IN YOUR CART” for the deal to work!(3 different register rewards and 3 coupons means you can do 6 items) in addition you CANNOT use a register reward for an item from a previous transaction for an item distributed by the SAME COMPANY (confusing i know…but listen…). an example…you cannot use the register reward you got from crest mouthwash last week for a crest toothpase this week. it simply WILL NOT PRINT. so, what i’ve been doing is “penciling in” on the register reward every week, what it is i bought that paid that specific reward. that way i don’t crosstrack the company. really, you’ve got to have some knowledge of what “companies” make which “products”. you should get that knowledge very quickly from this website. it took me a few weeks of …OH NO’s!…when i got home to figure out the grand scheme of things.

What is “small filler” item and what is it for? Please help! This is a wonderful website!!!!!! Thanks for all your help!!!!

      • Jenny

A smaller filler item is anything that is less than 25 cents. It is needed if you are are trying to use more coupons than items purchased (normally only occurs if you are trying to pay with a Register Reward and are already using coupons on the items you purchased).

The Walgreens in-ad coupons should not coupon toward the total coupons, just manufacturer coupons.

Question for all: Does the walgreen’s in-ad coupon (ex. palmolive for 99cents) count as a “coupon” when I’m trying to make sure I have at least the same number of items in my cart as coupons (RR and mfg coupons)??

Leslie: I found the tearpad for Bayer quick release in the back by the pharmacy. There was a separate display (like in a big cardboard box stand) with the Bayer and a tear pad. Hope this helps. It was NOT with the other aspirin products. I am in Sumter, SC.

There is a Lysol bowl cleaner coupon of 1$ wyb2 at SS 4/26. It makes it .90 each.

    • Vallery (Atlanta)

I found only Reynolds 100% recycled Aluminum Foil coupon at ss 4/19. Does it match the deal above?

i was told at my wags that the filler had to be the same amount as coupon. i tried this a couple weeks ago

2 listerine– 2/9 i had (2) 4/1 q and a 2 RR. after MQ should have been 1. i added a small filler to get the number of items to 3 (filler was only about .20) they told me that it had to equal the RR in order to use it. what’s up with that??? should i have found something that was a dollar?

Huggies swim diapers for $3.99 a pack.

At walgreens on sale for $6.99 when combined with $3 coupon in paper makes the packs $3.99. Normally the packs are $9.

With twins, we will be using quite a few swim diapers, so I am stocking up.

I can never remember who makes what and I know you cannot use a RR to get a RR from the same manufacturer. Can you guys/gals let me know if I can roll RRs in this order? Or, which RRs will not roll?

Just a heads up on some good clearance items I found at my Walgreens lately. If you have guys that like Axe there are a couple of good things going…

      1. 50 cent sample size shampoos on the clearance aisle. Made a good filler item for me…something we’d use instead of candy (I’m buying too many candies lately as fillers!!)

      2. $1.99 clearance Axe Hair-care products… all the different styling products in a little pack together. Was regularly $5 or so, marked down to $1.99. What was GREAT was that it’s included in the buy 5 get 2 movie tickets RR deal!!! I took a chance, hoping it was… and sure enough. I paid $10 (used RRs from last week) and got the coupon for 2 free movie tickets. That’s less than the price of 2 movie tickets AND got some great little stocking-stuffer type items for free!

(the 50 cent sample sized shampoos did NOT yield the Movie ticket RR, but at that price, it was still worth it to have some fillers that we’d actually use)

My wags today told me if i used any manufactures coupon i would not recieve the rr and sure enough i didnt it was either the right gaurd or the dry idea. the manager told me to rec the rr you can NOT use a man coupon from anywhere, any ideas, i have emailed the catalina company and walgreens

I am a little confused with the manufacturer’s coupons–for example if I have a dry idea clinical coupon, can I use it on any dry idea or does it have to be dry idea clinical? I also have a scott naturals tissue coupon –can this be used towards the Scott bathroom tissue that is on sale this week at wags or will it be declined b/c it’s not the “naturals” kind?

I got most of the deals in Key West except the RR did not print for the band-aid and neosporin deal. I bought 2 boxes band-aids, they rang $2.50 each, and neosporin rang $5 and a bag of swedish fish on sale for $1.50. I used (2) $1 off band-aids mfr coupons and $1 off neosporin and a $2.50 RR I received from Bayer deal. I called for the manager and she said I did not get the RR, no other explanation. I asked to refund the transaction which was $6 something on my gift card and she said she did but did not need my card to credit it. 2 questions: 1. Why didn’t I get RR? 2. Was my $6 something credited?

    • Marcy

OK I found out the gift card was credited but I still don’t know what I did wrong to cause my neosporin – band-aid RR to not print.

    • Jamey

I’m not sure if this is addressed elsewhere, but I went to Walgreens today and bought the Right Guard Extreme Dry deodorant (in a gray and orange pkg with a basketball on the label. It is pictured in the ad but does not have the ad sticker by it on the shelf at my store). It rang up on sale for 2.99 and printed a $5 RR! I went back and got another one right after that and got another $5 RR! I didn’t have any mfr coupons to use on just one, but still made $2 each getting them! :)
