    • Was very disappointed last week when I was trying to get the organic Green and Black chocolate bars with coupons. They were on sale, and I was trying to use 1 store Q + 1 manu Q per item. Seems normal enough…..The first Walgreens I went to, was all out of the “on sale” ones. Then I drove to a 2nd Walgreens. They had all of the “on sale” bars- yeah!- I thought, except the computer would not take any Q’s after the 3rdset, even though I had other items I was purchasing (so that the overage would apply to something else) . Oh well. What frustrated me so much was the effort I put into it, and that there were no statements letting me know (on the coupon, in a sign, etc)- that my opportunities were limited. I am finding that some stores are not as easy to deal with and have more complicated/unpublished rules….it’s too bad b/c it makes me not want to put forth the effort there again, and just stick with the two that NEVER give me any trouble- you guessed it- CVS and Publix!!! (PS, I am thankful for the stuff I DID get discounted there that day….)

    • Meredith, I am with you on CVS and Publix. Walgreens was my favorite until the Easy Saver ended. That was the best program because you did not have to deal with the hassle.

    • Tiffany

I can use two Wrigley’s coupons even though they are BOGO…right?

    • Dianne

There is a $4 Q for Glade Sense & Spray starter kit in the 10/6 issue of Women’s Day. I just started receiving this magazine, I got a year’s subscription using a $5 Amazon gift card earned with swagbucks. The coupons that I will use from this issue alone will amount to more than $5. I also got a year’s subscription to All You for $15, again paid with gift cards earned with swagbucks. I use swagbucks to access my savings sites (favorite of which is Southern Savers!). I earn a $5 gift card every three weeks on average. It’s not much until you consider all the coupon savings I will get from these 2 magazines. I just love a bargain on top of a bargain on top of a bargain!

    • Samantha

I’m sure this has been asked before, so I apologize but I am new to shopping at Walgreens. If I have one of the $4 Glade Sense and Spray coupons and use it to buy the Sense and Spray at $5.99, can I use a RR from another purchase of something different to make up the $1.99 difference, or will that count as two coupons for the same item and not work? Thanks!

    • Tracie

You can use both a Manufacturer coupon and a RR to purchase the same item. The restriction that Wags has is that you must buy as many items as the coupons that you are using. This means that you will need to buy something without a coupon. I usually look at the Last Chance shelf for some cheap deals or in a pinch grab a .33 caramel by the register.

    • Roni

What are swagbucks? and how do you get them? Thanks.

    • trish

    • susan

i cannot get the Scrubbing Bubbles q to print. i keep getting an error message and to come back later.

    • Michelle

I just printed the $2 coupon for the Glade Fragrance Collection candles. The coupon says $2 off one reed diffuser, 3-wick or 4.9 oz. candle OR on TWO 2 oz. soy based candles from The Fragrance Collection.

So, if we use this coupon on the candle deal, we would have to pay $1 out of pocket after RRs. Right?

      Buy 2-2oz. candles at $2 each=$4
      Use 1 $2 coupon
      Pay $2
      Get $1 RR
      =$1 OOP

    • Beth

I can’t get the Scrubbing Bubbles Q to print either.

    • Misty

I just left the Walgreens in East Ridge (McBrien Rd.) & found a new coupon book. Its September coupon book and has a $2 coupon for Sendoyne, which is on sale this week with register rewards. Also, i bought a glade candle and use the coupon that is buy the holder get refills free but they didnt ring up free they were 1.29 after the coupon. They may have a 2.50 limit. Lesson learned, read the fine print! Also the holder rang up 2.50 instead of 2 & RR didnt print. Maybe because the sale hasnt officially started yet. The lady said it starts when they get the signs us but the paper is not out so you cant dispute it if its wrong. Just a heads up :)

    • Melissa

Dianne #4, I would love to learn more about Swagbucks!

    • Michael

Michelle I belive you can use two coupons… you have two products..

    • Taryn

FYI – $1 RR’s double at HT during super doubles!! They are manufacturers coupons that start with a 5. I’ve used them many times and it works every time.

    • lelia

I left a comment on last weeks walgreens match-up commenting on the fact that some of the cashiers were giving me a hard time w/ doing several transactions at the same time and that i was about ready to give up, well i thought… i am not going to go out that easy, so i gathered my coupons for the match up, marched into the store and went over to the cosmetic check-out and told the cashier what i was wanting to do, to my surprise she was so very nice said that it was no problem and just come to her when i was ready to check out, when i did check out she even gave me a rain check on the dominos sugar that they were out of stock on. I guess my moral to this story is when you first start doing the coupons it can be frustrating, (believe me i know, I was sooo confused at first), but hang in there, it is well worth it, and than it starts to get really fun.

    • trish

      two new books

healthy savings to help you stay healthy all medicine coupons exp 12/31/09 some are in the front orf store but mostly by the pharmacy

Sept. coupon book also filled with lots of meds. (great Dove body wash coupon $2.50) cant wait for that sale to double up with manuf Q)

    • Samantha White

The $7 Scrubbin Bubbles coupon is no longer available. Bummer.

    • Dianne

      Roni & Melissa,
Swagbucks is a search engine like Google that will award you swagbucks randomly (I usually get 2 or more a day doing 15 or more searches). Just go to swagbucks.com & sign up. Once you get 45 swagbucks, you can redeem them for a $5 Amazon gift certificate. There are other rewards, but this is the only one I have used and what I think is the best deal. I think you get 5 swagbucks on sign-up. So instead of accessing my sites directly, I just go through swagbucks. A few extra keystrokes & seconds used, but not bad. I’ve earned $35 since April, so about $75 a year. Some people save them all year & use them for Christmas presents. Hope this helps.

    • Carolin

Is anyone having a difficult time trying to print the Scrubbing Bubbles coupon. I’ve been trying since last night without luck. Jenny that you so much for all of your hard work

    • Rena

I also am not able to print the scrubbing bubbles coupon

    • Samantha White

The Scrubbin Bubble “Rebate” link is a form to return the product for a REFUND. There is NO rebate, at least with this link.

    • Angela Still

I used two of the .55 cents off Reeses coupons on the 2/2 Herseys bars from SS in August and actually made .10 cents after I got the RR.

    • Holly

    • Lara

I saw the $6 off Crest Whitestrips at Walgreens & snatched it up! I have a $10 off as well, so I’m hoping to use them both. I have no idea how much Whitestrips run, but if you can use both of these coupons at the same time it sounds like a great deal to me!

    • Rena

Holly how did you get the scruubbing bubbles $7 coupon?

    • Tangee

How do you get the Sept. Coupon book?

    • Holly

      Rena –

I used the link that Jenny provided above before the limit was reached. For great coupons like that one, you have to get in early. Sorry, I know that’s no help if you are still trying to get the coupon.

Good luck on trying to find one.

    • Laura

I went to Walgreens in Easley today and the computer would not accept all of my coupons because I had a coupon for each item plus a register reward. After about 10 minutes we figured it out and I had to buy a candy bar in order for all the coupons to work. You cannot have more coupons than items and the manager could not override it.

    • Sheila

      What is a Swagbuck??

    • Carolin

I’m sorta new to the coupon game. I’ve been using coupons since the early part of this year. I’m excited about this post. For the first time I found a coupon that I haven’t read about. The cosmetic counter at my Wags had $2 off Softsoap Ensembles (pump or base) tearpad. They are expensive, but I’m hoping for a sell to be able to combine with the $2 coupon that is in the Sept coupon booklet.

    • RM

Jenny, Hope you had a great Labor Day. Thanks for all you do.

I have a question I went to a Walgreen’s and wanted to purchase 5 boxes of General mills cereal On sale this week for $1.99 each
      I wanted to use a $1.00 off 2 boxes
      $1.00 off 3 boxes
      a catalina from Walgreen’s that was $2.00 off 5
      boxes of general mills cereal
      and 1 $3.00 RR
I shop Walgreen’s alot and have done this transaction before with no problems however this time the cashier refused to do it she told me that the RR was a manufacturer coupon and the catalina was also a manufacturer coupon so I could not use them along with MY manufacturer coupons. I was very nice and just told her thanks and I left with out buying anything. I definitely don’t want to be dishonest but I don’t know why I have been able to do this same transaction in the past. Please explain to me which coupons I can use for this transaction.
Thank you for your help and time.

      • Jenny

You could use the $1/2 and $1/3 but the $2 off $5 would be another manufacturer coupon for the same item so the cashier was right on that one. Almost always Catalina coupons are manufacturer coupons.

The cashier was wrong on the RR though if you had another item even a small 5 cent filler item you could have used the RR. You would need 6 items only because you already used a manufacturer coupon on 5 items and the RR is a manufacturer coupon. But once you had 6 items you would have been fine.

        Hope that helps.

    • RM

Carolin I saw a $4.00 rebate form (tear pad ) on a softsoap ensembles display at my BI-lo store in cleveland Tn so keep your eyes open maybe you’ll find one too and with a sale, your coupon, and rebate you will get yours for FREE!

    • RM

Sheila, go to http://www.swagbucks.com and it will explain swag bucks to you I have downloaded it as my search engine and I get points every time I use it,you also get points for referring people, doing surveys etc.. it will explain all this on the website. one of the things you can get with your points are gift cards so check it out. Hope this helps

    • RM

yes this explains it. This makes sense and is an awesome deal. Thanks again

    • Meredith

So three times in the past two days my Walgreens has printed out RR’s without the amount or manufacturer. It prints everything else though! Weird! I was still able to use them because the barcode was there. Here’s my question- Today I bought two packs of Walgreens brand training pull ups and two of the single sleeves of Nabisco saltines and it printed out an RR with no amount and I wasn’t excpecting an RR so I don’t know what it is for. I was wondering if anyone had any clue. Thanks!

    • Heather

(Thanks, Samantha #22!) Here is more on SCRUBBING BUBBLES:

The Automatic shower cleaner is a refund and you HAVE TO SEND THE UNIT BACK TO THEM according to their rules. (they do refund $7.05 shipping, though)

I bought one today before I knew this…oh well. Not sure if I’ll keep it & try it or just return it. The refund is good through the end of 2009.

    • Carolin

RM thanks for the refund offer info. I’ll keep my eye out for it.

    • Dai

I found a great deal at Target for the scented Oil candles and refills

The candle holder was on sale for $1.66 and the refils were $2.50. I opened the candle to smell it and found a 1.50 coupon in there for and gladed scented item.

      1.66 Candle Holder
      2.50 Refill

Buy 1 scented oil candle get a refill pack for free SS 8-23
$1.50 found in the candle or $1.00 SS 8-23

      $1.66 – 1.50 = .16
      2.50 = free with coupon

      oop .45 with tax.

I hav some more coupons so going to get some more….

    • andrea

scott toilet paper is also on sale at walgreens for 6.99 for a 12 pack. this is 8.10 at walmart and can’t find coupons for this toilet paper since is not the extra soft kind. limit two with walgreens in store coupon.

    • Tracy

Has anyone used the $1.00 Glade RR on the Glade Sense and Spray and gotten the $2.00 RR? Rolled all of my RR to Glade and want to buy more Sense and Sprays!

    • sara

u can’t use a reg reward from a product on the same product. so if you have a rr for glade, don’t use it on glade. per the manufacturer’s rules, another won’t print, so ur not ‘taking advantage’. but if you have a rr for something else or just a general save off ur next order it’ll take. as long as…u have the same number of items that you have coupons…in the fine print of most man coupons. that’s where the cheap fillers come in :)

    • Becky

Walgreens really frustrates me. First because it appears that each one makes up their own set of rules. Secondly, if you aren’t there when the doors open on Sunday, you’ll likely not find the sale items that you want. And lastly, my local Walgreens more often than not, doesn’t print the RR’s AND the last time I was there they would not allow you to roll transactions within one visit. Their response was, “Those RR’s are for the next time you come in, not today.” They’ve made it so difficult to do coupons that I’d just rather skip them altogether. I don’t think they’ll ever have a deal so sweet that it’ll be worth my blood pressure going up to shop there. Sad because they are five minutes from me. WAKE UP WALGREENS — GET IN THE GAME!!!

Lelia (#16), I just returned from my first extreme couponing trip to Walgreens, and am very pleased to say that I had the same great experience as you did at the make up counter. Patricia was very helpful, explaining how the RRs worked, even reminding me about needing a small filler when using Qs and RRs together. I did a total of 6 transactions to get everything I had coupons for, and she didn’t bat an eye ringing them all up. She even applauded me for being such a savvy shopper! I’ll definitely be letting her manager know what a great first impression I got with Patricia, and will be definitely be going back, especially since I now have $6 in RRs! ;)

I was able to get 2 of the Scrubbing Bubble starter kits ($1.99 each), 4 tubes of the Crest Whitening toothpaste (all free) & 4 of the 2 oz votive candles (all free) for next to nothing using Jenny’s scenarios. Plus, I still have RRs for my next trip!

I think the hardest part of this is figuring out the best order to do transactions to minimize OOP costs. I’m sure that you pros would have done better, but I don’t think I did too badly my first time around.

Thanks, Jenny, for all you do. I never thought that I could be an extreme couponer!

Hi, I am new to couponing so please clear my doubt.
If i buy a product which is free after RR and use the RR on next purchase, can i return the product without RR (either for cash or in-store credit for any other product). The receipt does not contain any mention of RR, so it is theoretically possible. But has anyone tried this?

I had a $1 RR to use today before it expired. I got the Palmolive dish liquid on sale with the WAGS coupon, making it .99. I also got a .33 cent caramel. Was the caramel really necessary as filler? Or could I have used the RR and WAGS coupon on one item?

For WAGS, I believe it’s one cpn per item.

      I had a $3 RR from my Walgreens purchase tonight. I went shopping at the North Lake Drive (Irmo) Publix right after that and tried to use it but the ladies there told me they don’t accept those. They will only accept from competitors like Bi Lo, Food Lion, Kroger and any other grocery stores in our area…not even grocery stores no longer in our area. They also said they don’t consider Rite Aid a competitor so they wouldn’t take the $5 off of $25 purchase either. That doesn’t sound right, does it? :{

That is right, sorry. All the Publix stores in Columbia and surrounding areas only accept coupons from Kroger, Bi-Lo, Food Lion and other grocery stores in the area. About a year ago we could use everything but it was very misused and they ended it :(.
