I got an ad today from WalMart.

    • Write2Lara

Oh, man. Trying to get that Reach floss in Walmart was like pulling teeth!!! lol. The customer service manager had to get involved with the cashier. They initially tried to tell me I couldn't get the floss because they would be cheating the manufacturer out of money. I told them that all they had to do was write “.97” on the $1/1 coupon (and no one would be cheated). Apparently this was rocket science, as they had to void out my transaction twice, while shaking their heads. I had to wait in line there for 20 minutes with my 3 toddlers. Good thing I'll have enough floss to last me for a while before I have to go back and endure that again!

      • Ljohnson2215

I had the same problem….I couldn't wait so they just put it back for me. Walmart is a very hard place to used coupons!

      • A.

go to Target next time!!! they have it for .97 also, and most the targets i've been to will either push it through or the computers automatically adjust it down to price.

      • Rebecca

I'm sorry you had trouble! My Walmart cashiers always just adjust the coupon to match the item price with no problems!!!

      • Bridget_randall

I understand your frustration been there!! The reason that they usually do not alter the price of the coupons is because if they addept a coupon for 1.00 and give you .97 credit, they will not be reimbursed from the company, the coupons are intended for only the face value or the company can refuse refund for them.

      • Bryarsmom

I've always used both man Q's and IP's on the 97 cent floss over at Target without a problem. It pops up $1. and they hit the key to enter it, no big deal.

    • EagarCouponer

Every trip that I've tried to use internet coupons at WalMart, I'm told they don't accept them because they could be fake. But, I've stopped shopping there as a consequence.

      • Debra

I was reading your comment and I had the same problem months ago and I very rarely shop there. I even talked to the manager and she was very rude and I told her I will stop grocery shopping there. I usually go to Publix there customer service is great. Its a real pleasure shopping there, I've never had any problems with printable coupons or manufacturers coupons.

    • Probelvr2

I have never had any problem using coupons or getting a price match at our Walmart. Last Friday I bought a twin pack of Stove Top stuffing (chicken) for $1.50. The store brand is $1 a box so that would have been $2. I saved $.50 and I got name brand!

    • Bell917

I shopped at Walmart the other day and the young woman told me that she could not take my internet coupons because she said they could be fake. So I asked her to speak to a manger since there policy says they do take internet coupons. Well after much debate they ended up taking them. My concern is if they are worried about fake interent coupons they shouldnt even take cash either because “cash” can also be fake.

      • Katiekittie18

At the bottom of the reciepts from my Wal-Mart it says “We Gladly Accept Internet Coupons.”

      • Renae

I feel like I am harrassed every time I try to use coupons at Walmart. I actually have been so frustrated at one cashier because she told me I couldn't use two of the same coupons on two different items because the coupons said one per purchase. Every coupon she scanned she had to go ask her manager if she could take it. By the time I left, my blood pressure was sky high and I had told the cashier she couldn't read plain English!
My receipts also say they gladly accept internet coupons. That sure seems like it is so far from the truth because they reaaly don't want to except any coupons!

      • steph33

I was going to say what Katie did..take your reciept with u next time and show them the bottom of your reciept where it actually says the GLADLY accept them- but instead they act like your doing something wrong!

    • Love_the_Food

My Walmart had Hormel Chili with Beans rolled back to $1.00. I think there is a $1/2 out there somewhere makes them .50 each.

    • Jen

I always get our “basics” at walmart if they are not on sale somewhere else, but my last two trips have been a nightmare. No trouble using coupons, but one cashier was extremely annoyed at price-matching several things for me, and the one Sunday complained because the barcode wouldn't scan on our newspaper and she had to type it in. Because you know she had so many more important things to do with no one in line behind us…. I'd almost pay more for things at Publix just because the service is so much better!

    • And that is why I don't like shopping there. You can't plan beforehand. You gave to GO to the store to see what the prices are.

      • Laura

yup, none of the things I wanted at Walmart were the same price as this list. Everything was at least .50c higher, some were more then a dollar higher in price.

        • Dsgffh

Ours is at least a dollar higher.

    • Lorraine, NLR AR

I have gone to my WM two weeks in a row for the $4.50 Gillette razors but they are still $9.99 at my store.

    • Lala

I rarely try coupons at Wal-Mart because I have heard so many horror stories. But, I decided to try today since you posted all these deals. I used the self-check out, thinking maybe that would be better. When I first began scanning my coupons, it didn't work. The cashier came over to help and was very patient. Then, she had me scan them in on her special screen and, anytime there was a problem, she just put that amount in manually. I used ALL my coupons: taco bell, vlasic, reach (3 of them because I had one that printed out a Walgreens but listed as MFR), scotch brite sponges and blistex. I also used my internet-printed Scott Tissue $2 off coupons:) A great day at Wal-Mart (and I rarely say that!).

      • Jenefer

do you know if you can use target coupons in wal-mart? like you did with walgreens.

        • Ash

She stated it was a manufactur coupon printed with walgreens logo so it wasn't a walgreens coupon. I dont think walmart takes anything but MFR.

          • Crissyq

Ask your Walmart. My Walmart takes Target coupons but not the internet printed Target coupons. But they will take the Target coupons that come in their little monthly Target coupon books :)

    • Cklaborde

I just got a new Walmart ad in the mail for this week.

    • guest

What is the zipcode for Rhodes rolls?

    • Vicky

Thank You so much for the Walmart ad. I don't like to use coupons at Walmart that much but I don't have much choice in my area. Many times I had to insist on speaking to a manger. One CSM even said how wrong it was for all us(couponers) to get things for free. Walmart is much cheaper on most things. Boca burgers are $3.00 + cheaper than Food Lion Milk, Eggs, bread etc..

      • Bee

I have two Wal-Marts I will stop in at if I HAVE to. With that said, neither one gives me a hassle about free IP. I can understand a cashier not being informed about certain practices, but for them to have a personal opinion about how ethical it is?

      • Mayocoupons

you sould explain to the manager next time he/she says it's wrong for you to get things for free that it's not FREE to Walmart…they are getting paid by the manufacturer and you! It would be no different than you borrowing a $5 bill from your friend if you were $5 short on your purchase, right? They are paying a portiong but “VICKY'S” –insert your name LOL–portion is $x. xx–get it Mr./Ms. Manager? I have said just that to a woman at Kroger who said I couldn't buy Kraft cheese during a MegaEvent a few months back because Kroger wouldn't make any money if I got it for free”—huh???!?!? Where have these people been for the last ohhh 50 years since couponing began?!?!?! LOL

    • Jsbmustang99

My walmart works out great most of the time. I went today and had walmart give me back .19 cents for my coupons. I made money at walmart!!!!!!!

      • Pmortonfamily

wow, I always have to fight to use coupons. Had to get a manger today. 5th and last time DONE with walmart

    • Tabi

Some of these deals aren't at my walmart. I guess it varies by location. I like the fact that the Publix ad is consistent for most every Publix.

    • mandy

The coupons for Colgate toothpaste on ss 1/02 are already expired!

    • Rsharv

I have no problem with using coupons at the Columbia TN walmart. I have used as many as 10 $1.00 off coupons in one transaction on ocean spray without a problem when it was on sale this past summer for 2.00 each. I usually go about once a month and get what I need since I live 30 min away.

      • valintine

Walmart does not always honor their policy for taking competitor's coupons. I hate going to the walmart in my city they have horrible customer service when it comes to taking competitor coupons. They question me as if I am stealing something. They also are very picky about internet printed coupons. They say too many are forged..

    • I've never used coupons at WalMart before. Tonight I took my Vlasic Pickle.55/1 coupon to get those and saw they had M & M's in the valentine candy isle for a buck. They're little cardboard boxes shaped like hearts with the M and M's inside. But I used the Buy any 2 Mars V-day candies get 1 off so it was like BOGO Free. Makes for 2 little candies if you have 2 kids at a decent deal. :)

      • CouponQueen88

Where did you find the candy coupon??

    • AB64

For the Scotch-Brite $1/1 coupon, I noticed that it could be printed more than once, but none of the code numbers change. Will they still be valid if I print 3 or 4 of these??

      • steph33

I just got back from walmart and I printed 3 of the coupons and had no trouble using all 3. Was able to follow this list and got $50 worth of stuff for $15! Pretty good considering where I went lol

    • Sean

My Walmart in Marietta had the Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowls on sale for $2.00 and they all had .50 cent off coupons on the box. These are great for a quick bite before heading off to school or work.

    • Brad

My Walmart in Charleston SC does NOT have Gillete Fusion razors on sale for $4.50. They are price at $8.97 and the Colgate Toothpaste is priced at $2.97, not $1.

      • Couponqueen

My walmart in Lexington, SC is the same way- $9 for razor and $3 for toothpaste.

    • Roslynblackmon

I went to the Walmart in Raleigh this morning and was told I could not use the $5.00/2 Tucks coupon because it was for the 100 count and it would be free. I have never. Does any know where to find a copy of Walmart's coupon policy? I was also told the Carefree coupon could not be used with the Carefree liner.

    • jcsgirl

Thanks for posting the Wal-Mart ads. I have always had good experiences at the Wal-Mart where I live, even when I have a lot of coupons. The cashiers and store employees are always friendly and helpful. The last time I went the cashier actually got excited when she saw I had coupons and said, “Oh yeah, coupons! I just love seeing what coupons people find and seeing how much money they can save!”

    • ChrissyPunkin

I have tried the Scotch Brite sponges deal at Walmart in Montgomery more than once and it never works.

Can I just say how grateful I am for Southern Savers? I used to do all of my shopping at Walmart and Sams, and now I can get good deals other places and only use Walmart occasionally. I love going through the “20 items or less” line instead of waiting forever because they only have one regular lane open!

    • SmoochTheCook

All of these higher prices listed are ALWAYS at my Walmart…I've taken 3 page lists with the coupons ready and only found 6 of the items once. It's terribly frustrating, because Walmarts DO vary greatly even between my two towns. I've found that the easiest way to sidestep this is to have my other store ads ready and price comp everything so that I MAKE the prices that low. haha!

Actually, I'm going there in a bit for some Aldi's priced produce- woot!

    • Casey and Heidi

Hey guys! Had some coupons for Old spice, buy 1 deoderant stick get a bottle of Old Spice High Endurance Body wash free. It works with the cheap sticks too so we got the deoderant and body wash (which is $3.50) for only $1.88! Had 5 coupons and had to go to 2 different registers because the first cashier wouldnt do more than one lol. But the Gillette Razors weren't $4.50 at our Wal-Mart in Wilmington, NC either. Thats ok though, SoutherSavers has still helped us save a bundle! Thanks!

    • Mkeller4

Wanted to get all the free items. The cashier stated that the coupon stating $ 1.oo for a 97 cent item could not be used as the item is less than the coupon. Had to leave all my items at the store. Thats why I like all the other stores where this is not happening!!!

    • Courtneyjoella

Man, I remember why I only shop at Publix and CVS….had to make a stop at Walmart and though the kids were able to buy the toys they “needed” with their allowance I decided to follow your add and buy some staples. What a waste. No Kikkoman. No Yakisobe. No gillette fusion for $4.50. Even thought I watched their schpiel on the screen while waiting in line that says they take all the manuf coupons the checker still grumbled around. I probably spent three times what I would have spent elsewhere.

    • asknight76

I tried to use the Scotch Brite coupons at my Walmart and they would not scan. And the manager told me that they do take internet coupons, but if they do not scan on their own, they are not allowed to type them in. That's just their policy she said. So I had to put all 8 of my sponges back! So frustrating! And I'm sure every store has a different “policy.” I love Publix the best! I never ever ever have any problem with any coupons there. Everything scans as it should and if it doesn't, they type it in. However, at Bi-Lo, I feel like I have to watch the screen like a hawk cause sometimes coupons don't double like they should, etc. Annoying! But I do love couponing, and none of these frustrations will stop me. Thanks for all that you do!! I love this site and I could not get along without it! I tell everyone about it!!

      • CouponQueen88

WalMart is the most frustrating store in America! We were able to use our coupons, but she had to scan them with the hand held scanner. WalMart makes up their own policy as they go along!

      • Butterhead16

My Scotch Brite wouldn't scan either & I even printed them using the “highest quality” option on my printer! grrr. I have heard that several times too about not being able to manually input the coupons. They say that if it doesn't scan, then there is a reason for it and it may be a fake. I personally think that they don't want to take the time to enter it manually, it takes time off their items per minute or however it is that they are timed for quality control. Walmart is definately a YMMV store, most of which depends on your cashier's mood!

    • purple

Walmart does make up their own policy at each store very frustrating but keep trying last night my store in Atlanta had Ronzoni (Garden Delight) pasta on sale for $1.08 a box, I had 5 coupons from the paper and made copies they scanned fine and the cashier had no problem taking them! Bonus 10 boxes of pasta for $.80!
this trip I smiled instead of being frustrated.

    • Loretta_Ladd2001

I went to walmart last night with all 3 babies and had my coupons and items all nice organized. The cashier herself was very nice “the CSM had a personality of a brick wall” she ran over and inspected all my coupons and tried to tell me that they only accept certain mfq's and I smiled and handed her my binder with a current copy of their coupon policy and she said it didnt mean anything to her so I still smiled as my coupons were totally past $90.00 and then when they went to hit my total the computer crashed.I had to wait until they had to unfreeze and reboot it.Needless to say after an hour and a half she put all my coupons thru.Would be nice if all of the cashiers and csm's knew their own coupon policy they make up it every week I go in…..but i won in the end!!!!

    • SM

Just got back fromt he Loganville GA Walmart. Horrible experience. Wouldn't let me use most of my coupons because they weren't the item in the picture on the coupon, even though the coupon said “any” of a certain brand. Took forever to check out! Will never use coupons there again! Wasted time.
