Don’t waste your time. Target won’t do it. I tried today and they said that they couldn’t do it because it was a doorbuster add, then after they agreed to do the match they said they couldn’t do the coupon with it. Very disappointing!!!!!

      • Betty

Tried the leapster alphabet deal today on my favorite Target (only kidding–never had luck with couypons at this store)–Brought the Toys R’us ad along with a printout from the internet stating that it is Target policy to accept a Target coupon along with the match price deal—Cashier refused to match price —Asked Why ? She claims they don’t match prices on 50% off sales ????? Asked to see it in writing–Left me at the register for 1o minutes–came back empty-handed but claimed the manager said it was ok but I could only buy 1–Asked WHY–She claims it was managers right to set a limit–Still couldn’t produce anything in writing about matching it 50% off–Walked out with 1 Leapster—Drove to the next Target–Bought 4 of the same item–No problem –Cost 52 cents each with tax–Cashier couldn’t have been nicer—Target needs to train all cashiers to follow the same rules!!–Good luck !!

        • Lisa

I did the alpha pal deal with no problem, Also got the TAG for 19.99 – price match TRU $39.99 – 10 target coupon and 10 man coupon.

          • Randi

Will Target stores accept the web coupon? I wasn’t sure if I could take the coupon in the store and use it since it says Web Coupon on it!!??

        • Tanya

I encountered the same problem at my local target on the up and monster’ inc movie deal. The manager wouldn’t price match best buy because the price advertised was only if you purchased both ( which is what I was dong at Target!!!!)

          • Cindy

I went to the Target in McDounough, GA. I have gotten to the point that I will no longer shop in this store because of the management never wants to deal with any coupons!!! I went to the customer service desk which is were I was told it was the only place they could do price matching, I took my BestBuy ad and tried to get the price match for both movies Monsters Inc. and UP they told me they could not match either of them. The UP movie had a free book on it from target so they told me it was not the same and the Monsters movie they said it has a give me price??? They were very rude as they always are at this store. I don’t know why it is always differt empolyees but the same attitude. I think the teach this at this store.

I then went to the Best Buy and asked the customer service if they would honor the target $10 coupon, at first they said no then I explained what happened at Target and said I would perfer to make my purchase with them but I could not for go the extra $10 coupon. The wonderful customer service person went back and asked again and then told me that the would honor the Target coupon. It never hurst to ask.

        • Jackie

I went to Target last night and the person at customer service initially refused to honor the price match and coupon because she said the coupon stated it cannot be combined with any other promotions. I asked for a manager and then told that manager that a coupon is a promotion, but a price match is NOT a promotion, it is company policy. Once I said that, he quickly agreed and apologized and I was allowed to buy as many as I pleased… which I did… I grabbed what was left of them.

It never hurts to go up the chain with these… even store managers can call District Managers (or even their bosses, the Regional Managers) who are then put in a position of having to give you a concrete reason for refusing to honor company policy… something other than, “Well, I’m sure you can’t just buy this $20 toy for $.52!” which is what I was given as a reason for the first 10 minutes at Customer Service…

        • Julie

I went to Target this a.m., asked for price match. Cashier did this no problem. I then gave her the $10 coupon. Somehow, I paid 0.00 for the item. I had no problem whatsoever. Great way to start the day.

      • jessica

Target in Tuscaloosa will not take the ad. told me that the only ads accepted here are weekly ads not door busters so DONT TRY IT THEIR. i always have problems with them always rude especially for us couponers. oh well glad some got the deal

        • Adrienne

Target in Warner Robins won’t do it because it is a Doorbuster Ad….

          • Brandi

Macon Target honored the ad…marked mine 1/2 off instead of 10.49, so I bought three and paid absolutely nothing… I walked out of Target with 60.00 worth of the toys for absolutely nothing…It was awesome!!!!

            • katie

I did the same thing today and was able to get mine for free also. What a great start to christmas being able to get great toy for free.

        • Wanda

Thanks for posting about this store. It saved me time and a headache. I don’t live in Tuscaloosa, but I shop for the deals when I’m in town(a few times per year). I didn’t think there were any couponers around because there’s always plenty of deals in stock. LOL. I’m glad to see you’re getting in on the deals. How fun!

      • Tammy

Target in Douglasville will not match door busters. This IS NOT posted in their store. I also called the corporate office because the manager was really a jerk about it and they confirmed that the door busters were not supposed to be honored. The sign in the store simply states “We will match ALL competitors ads”. It does not specify certain sales.

        • Michelle

My husband and I tried 3 different stores (Buford, Johns Creek, and Cumming, GA) all said they would not match door buster ad’s. I think this is wrong on their part since it was not written anywhere or clear on what they would or would not match. When I looked earlier on the website for exclusions the only thing I could find was for limited time or quantity items. However I just looked again and I guess they received enough complaints because I see where they just added to the list timed events such as doorbusters. We were quite frustrated with them.

          • Whitney

Target has now updated their price matching policy to state that they don’t match doorbuster deals…

      • Summer

I have almost decided to stop shopping at Target. They are rude, have a horrible return policy, won’t honor most coupons, and do not let the Salvation Army bell ringers stand outside of their store during Christmas time. Not to mention, they don’t honor the military. Target is one of the few companies that if you are in the military and get called to active duty, they will not hold your job.

        • donna

I read an article about the reason why Target doesn’t let the Salvation Army at the front. It has something to do with it being a Canadian chain and they don’t sponsor Veteran’s.

    • Is the Hasbro deal still going on? 3.99 games with rebates and gift cards?

      • Jenny

        It is going through Saturday.

        • MW

Yoour gift card won’t activate until 6 hours later though. I was going to use it right then to get some more stuff.

    • Christy

Anyone know where to find this ad? I didn’t get one in my paper or any mail outs, and my Target refused my printed ad online.

      • Melissa

Just got the Leapfrog alphabet deal at the Target in Marietta, GA. I didn’t have the printed ad, so I printed the price out from the online ad. They were able to accept it, but I didn’t push my luck with trying to get more than one.
Great way to get a gift to give to Toys for Tots, as all my kids are too old for it.
Thanks for the heads up on the deal!!

        • Joyce

Did this target have more of the alpha pal?

    • Amy G

Yeah.. I need to find ad too!

      • Amy G

Hey! I just opened my Paper and the ad was in there .. so get a Birmingham Paper today!

        • Christy

Thanks so much! I’ll run right out and get one… even the money spent on a paper is still a great deal!

          • Brittany L

Just go into Toy r us and get todays ad!

    • Kimberly

The ad is up on the TRU website.
Also, my target had a sign next to the leap frog toys today saying that they will price match AFTER the Target coupon.

    • becky

will target match the toysrus 3.99 games. i went to toyrus today and they were sold out. if i caould get them at target then it would still be a good deal without the 10 giftcard.

      • Sarah

Yes they will match the $3.99 games. My TRU was out of a few of the games and I got them at Target today no problem.

    • Ashley

The Target on Harbison is out! I just called Lexington- they have one, but said they will NOT match a doorbuster or 2 day ad!

    • Susan

The Target on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville, SC said they will not match any doorbusters.

      • Audra

I tried at Woodruff Rd. tonight as well. Said they did not honor Doorbusters. I asked to see it in writing and it took her a minute, but she did come up with some kind of booklet that said they don’t honor doorbuster ads with the price match. Oh, well….I tried. :)

    • Momof2(Greer, SC)

The target in Spartanburg, SC & Greer, SC stated that they will also not price match doorbusters.

      • Momx2

I also went to the Target in Greer, SC. They had two Alphabet Pals left. I just went to the cashier, his name was Kevin, and he took the ad. And the coupon. I didn’t know until I am reading all these comments that it wasn’t allowed. But he took it, and didn’t even give me any trouble!

    • Sarah

I have to say that I can’t blame them for not matching a doorbuster like the Alphabet toy.. I mean, after the $10 Target coupon, they will only be getting $.49, which doesn’t reimburse the store nearly enough! If it were a mfg coupon, I could see them taking it, because at least the store would get reimbursed, but I totally understand them not wanting to price match this deal. We don’t want to hassle Target over stuff like this and cause them to become more restrictive with pricematching or coupon policies!

      • Mandie

I thought that Target did get reimbursed for the in-store Q’s the same way that other grocery stores get reimbursed for their “in-store” ad? Am I wrong?

        • Jason

There is no way to know if you don’t work for them. Sometimes store coupons are a result of a deal with manufacturers behind the scenes. Sometimes the store just eats the cost. A single coupon booklet could contain both types and you won’t know the difference (the stores collect movement information on the back-end later and get reimbursed by the manufacturers, if applicable).

You do have to figure if you’re walking out the door with a toy like that for $0.49, someone has lost money on it, either the store or the manufacturer, and it’s not surprising they would want to limit this. Personally, I would not be surprised if this particular incident leads them to not accept Target coupons after price match in the future.

      • Betty

        • amy

Target gets reimbursed for the 10 dollar coupon the same as for manufacturer coupons. It works the same way.

    • Lane

I went to the Lexington, SC Target at 9:00 this morning and was excited to find two of the Alphabet toys on the shelf. I went to customer service for the price match, but they wouldn’t accept my printout of the email ad for the item, so I went and got the paper from another store in order to get the physical print ad. When I returned to Target, I was told they do not honor doorbuster offers. After hauling my one-year-old in and out three times to do this deal, I was so frustrated. While I realize that would have practically been a steal if it had worked, I was most frustrated that the customer service folks didn’t their price match specify exclusions (or that Target doesn’t have their price match exclusions posted somewhere in the store) before I raced around to find the printed ad. I must confess, this is yet one more strike against Target for me. I had terrible experiences with my baby registry there and have told myself so many times I won’t patronize the store anymore and yet there I was again today!

      • I try to warn all my friends off Target baby registry but they do it anyway. I refuse to buy registry gifts from them. I got such a hassle for returns! They would not count their own baby registry invoice/packing slip as a receipt (hello – they don’t put a gift receipt in the shipping box and then penalize you for not having one?)

Their registry computer was down so they wouldn’t let me return anything without gift receipts – had to come back another day.

And they continue to discount clearance items in the system, so some items were discounted to less then a dollar and some were cleared out of the system I couldn’t return them!

I remember all this clearly because I had to drive over 2 hours round trip every time I went to Target!

      • Momof2(Greer, SC)

Lane in a way, you are part to blame also because had reseach on the Target Price Match policy been done, you would have seen that it clearly states that an ad listed with “limited quantities” is on the exclusions list.

        • Tammy

How much research should a person have to dig into. The signs in the store says WE WILL MATCH ANY LOCAL COMPETITOR AD. Another 8.5 x 11 paper posted on their bulletin board has no mention of exclusions to door busters either. This is all that is posted. This should be all the research a person has to do. Target has a problem with FALSE advertising. Lure the customer in with something that sounds great and then say Sorry we didnt mean that. We won’t honor what we post in our stores.

          • I disagree that you should have to research before you shop for a deal like this. If a sign says “We match ALL competitors ads”, and has NO exclusions listed…then they should match ALL ads. I can understand if on that same sign they had listed “Excludes doorbusters” or “Cannot be combined with coupons”, BUT…they didn’t. Reguardless of whether or not they take a loss on something like this, they should still be willing to honor it until they can clearly post company-wide restrictions on the coupon/price match policy.

      • Emily

The Customer Service people at the Lexington, SC Target IS rude. I’m not surprised that happened. They gave me grief about the Monster’s Inc/Up deal. It’s a shame because it really spoils your wanting to go there when they act like that.

    • cherie4

It worked fine for me this morning!!! I have had the best customer service from Target everytime I ask them to do a price match. I live in South Florida. I have to say that I was almost embarrassed handing them over the 10 dollar off Target coupon……making it 49 cents. The guy just laughed and said ‘Wow’!! I hope they continue to be as great as they have been with all the price matching and coupons that I have been using. I have never ever saved as much money on toys as I have this last month. I usually wait to get started on Black Friday but I don’t think I could have even come close to getting the kind of deals that I am getting. Thanks Target!!!! AND Thank Jenny for posting these incredible deals!!!

      • MelRae

Yay! Awesome that it worked for you! I have read about this deal on other sites, and it is not working for most folks. I think the lesson here is if you try it, don’t be surprised if they say no. If they say yes, then you can be happliy surprised!

      • Maria

Cherrie, I live in Hollywood, FL. Which Target do you shop at? I’d like to go there. I have had the worst experience with Targets in my area. They refuse to price match eventhough the signs are everywhere. Just terrible the one in Hollywood and Davie. I keep telling myself i will not go back, yet I’m tempted when i see deals like this.

        • cherie4

I have had no problem with price matching at the Lauderhill Target or the one in Parkland. I’m sorry you have had bad experiences at the one in Davie and Hollywood. I’ll try to avoid those stores. I have called corporate before to get a better understanding of their price-matching policies and they have told me that they leave things up to the descretion of each individual store so you will find that some are more lenient than others. But again, I did price matching on the Leapfrog Tag, Leapfrog Tag Junior, all the tag books, The Barbie 3 Musketeers DVD, Baby Whoopsie Doo……in separate transactions…..and was also able to use Manu coupons and/or Target coupons with no problem at all. I hope this helps.

    • Dee

MY TARGET MATCHED THIS AD & COUPON!! I am in N. Charleston SC, and my local Target on Rivers Avenue matched this ad AND took the coupon. I also used the $10 Wii coupon and bought two $20 games. It worked for me!!

      • Lara

I have been debating going to try to get this deal, but now I think I might try since our Target is accepting it. Did you go through a regular check out or do you have to go to customer service.

        • Dee

I went to customer service to get my deal. I just called them to see if they would be matching on Black Friday, and they said no, but they would be matching everything before and after. If they deny you, ask to speak to a manager.

          • I went to the N. Charleston Target, and they would not do the deal for me. Said a lady had just bought 12 and paid 9.99 for them and they could only do the coupon or the price match, not both!

            • Dee

Wow, she bought 12??? There were only 3 left on the shelf when I bought mine. I guess I was lucky to have the CSR I did. She matched the ad and took the coupon with no problem. Weird.

            • Alisha

That probably explains why the shelf was empty when my co-worker and I arrived at Target (N.Charleston) after work. The Target employee told us that they had a total of 40 on the shelf on Friday morning. Does anyone in the Savannah GA area know if the Target there is honoring the Toys R US ad for the Leap Frog pad? Thanks.

      • DJ

that’s funny, because I was there at 945am and they denied me!

        • Dee

I got my deal without any problems.

      • Jennifr

I went to the Target on Rivers this afternoon as well, and no luck! Kevin the manager said that they either price match or use the coupon but NOT both! SO FRUSTATING!!!!! What is your secret????

        • Dee

LOL, no secret! I guess it was just a matter of timing, and who was at the CS Counter at the time. The woman who helped me was really nice and even giggled at the fact that I was only paying 53 cents! I went there about 11:45 am, on my lunch break.

          • scponmom

I was disappointed when I arrived at the Rivers Ave. store a few minutes past 3pm and the shelf was empty. Please read the sales ad carefully and Jenny even posted the time. This sale did not start until 3pm on this item (you can take a look and see for yourself). She took the time to post the deal to share with us, not for us to abuse the priveledge by not waiting until the appropiate time. My disappointment turns to frustration when I see that others did not follow the rules. I am not singleing anyone out, it’s just from seeing people post the times that they went into the store. This could result in them not ever doing this again. Please remember that “One bad apple spoils the bunch”. I suggest attending a coupon workshop for anyone that has not and learn the code of ethics. Jenny, thanks for what you do.

    • ACP

So frustrated! I went to Toys R Us and got the ad, then drove to Target and they refused to match the doorbuster. Spartanburg, SC, beware!

      • Robin

I tried in Spartanburg too! How dissapointing, then to see others have had luck. The manager gave me Target Guest Relations # 1-800-440-0680 and encouraged me to call however would still not give me the deal.

        • Same thing in Spartanburg…I emailed CS. I’m done with Target. While I COMPLETELY understand their unwillingness to sell a $20 toy for $0.49, I think they should honor their word. When the sign says “Will match ALL completitors ads”, there should be no exclusions, unless they are on that very sign.

    • ellen

price match worked at flowood ms target this am.

    • Amanda Y

I did Harbison and Lexington today, also. I had the last one in Lexington, and they wouldn’t match. I did do the UP/Monsters Inc, deal, though-2 blu ray packs for $13 total!

    • Anyone know about the Target in Columbia, SC- Garners Ferry Rd?

      • Garners Ferry in Columbia, SC was a no go. Extremely rude too! Apparently someone had tried before me because they saw me coming with my cart and they basically said “We’re not matching those so don’t try.” Definitely called the customer relations number on them.

        • Laura

They were rude to me this afternoon also. I don’t usually shop that store and don’t think I ever will again!

    • I called the Spring Hill Tenn Target and they said they do not match a 2 day doorbuster sale. I have to wonder if some of the cashiers would do it and some not (you know how that goes), but it’s too much trouble to go there and try so even though I had to be put through to a couple of people to get my answer, I’m going to accept it!

      • amy

worked for me in spring hill tn.
        no problem.
paid $.49 each. Got 3 total oop $1.61
        Thanks for the find.
All three going to angel tree

    • Brittany L

Target honored my ad and they also let me use my $10.00 off coupon! Thanks

    • Nancy

did not work for me either…two different targets…they would not match the doorbuster ad. boo! i was so excited when i read about this. oh well.

    • Kalyn Mace

I am heading to Target for the LeapFrog deal. I called ahead and was told I could do this, and got a name to reference. I am first going to Toys R Us to pick up an ad rather than printing it. The Target price match policy is here-http://pressroom.target.com/pr/news/value/our-low-price-promise-facts.aspx. It does not say anything about doorbusters, etc. Just says if it is a product match and is CURRENTLY on sale, they will match it.

    • Victoria

I have not tried this offer yet, but have had so many issues with Target & coupons before I would not even attempt it. I am glad to hear other people have issues with Target.

    • Tabitha

Has anyone tried to get 2 of the Alphabet pals at Target? Just wondering if they will limit how many you can get (if they will match at all). I’m going to try to get there this afternoon. Also, anyone in the DFW area have any luck?

      • Erin

Someone on another site mentioned having no luck DFW, but she didn’t mention what store she tried. (I assume there’s more than one in the DFW area.)

Also read a couple posts about Target corporate issuing an email to stores telling them that they should not honor the ad because it is a doorbuster. Some people still seem to be getting them, though. (Unless they purchased this morning and only posted their results this afternoon.)

I’m sure this one’s a real headache for Target, and the price-match policy will be much more specific in the future.

        Good luck.

      • amy

        I got 3 for $.49 each.
        No problem.
        very smooth.

    • Tabitha

Just found Target’s price matching policy, check it out. It does NOT exclude doorbusters! Maybe we should print it and take it in with us-

      • Momof2(Greer, SC)

The price match guarantee does exclude sales with “limited quantities”

      • Morgan

This does NOT say anything about door busters. It clearly states that they WILL price match as long as it’s within the date. There are not “limited quantities”. That would be like saying it is this price for the first 50 people. However, if you try saying this applies to that category you could also argue that everything in the store is a limited quantity – it just depend on how many the store has in stock.
I am very frustrated that my store would not honor this even though they could not show me anything in writing that states they couldn’t – other than their employee handbook. Where is this accessible to the public? Yet, what they do have accessible (via their website) states that they WILL honor it. Not only is this dishonest but I’m fairly certain it’s unlawful.

        • Jason

If you read the link to the Target policy just above, it gives a full list of exclusions. “Limited quantity items” is one of the exclusions. The Toys R Us ad clearly says at the bottom that doorbuster deals are “Quantities limited; no rain checks”. Target hasn’t violated their own policy here, their only mistake is not posting this in the store for customers to see it.

This exclusion to the price match policy isn’t surprising. Retailers simply can’t match limited quantities items and stay in business. Even Toys R Us is admitting they can’t sustain that price by refusing to issue rain checks. It’s a loss leader, and if Toys R Us can’t make money on it at 10.49, Target certainly can’t at 0.49. Target has their own loss leaders and sales, and if they tried to offer theirs and match everyone else’s, they’d go out of business.

          • morgan

Nobody at my target said anything about it being limited quantities they were concerned with the limited time only. Their policy said nothing about this – I printed it and had it with me. TODAY, however, it is updated to include limited time only ads.

          • In my opinion, reguardless of what “loss” comes out of this, they should honor it because they said they would. When you post signs EVERYWHERE in your store stating “We will match ALL competitors ads”, with NO exclusions listed, it is UNFAIR period. If they want to go back and change their signs, fine. But until they do, I think the deal should be honored. As a consumer we obviously can’t force this…but it is the right thing to do.

            • morgan

I agree 100%. If their policy clearly stated that they would not price match door buster ads that would be fine, but it did not – until today! That is just poor customer service. Honoring this deal would not put them out of business. Yes, they would lose money but according to THEIR policy this was within reason. I am glad that they changed the policy for future reference but I am very disappointed with them and will probably take most of my holiday shopping elsewhere.

    • Haley

I’m in Alabama and it worked for me! I actually got the alphabet pal for free because it was on sale for $19.49 and the cashier matched the 50% off instead of the price. Then I used my coupon. Thanks for posting!

      • Fallon

Where at in Alabama? I live around Dothan and they would not let me use my coupon they said I could either use the coupon or I could price match. The manager was rude and honestly if I had another target anywhere close by, I would not go back to that target again.

    • Heidi

I am freaking out! I really want the Kota Dinosaur for my son and it is not coming up on the website! Ahh! Anyone else trying to buy this online?

      • Heidi

I called and they told me this was instore only :( The website has a link to buy online, but it does not work.

      • Heidi

Went to the store and got the last one…yeah! My youngest will be so happy!

    • Mandie

Well the Hixson TN Target is refusing to do the deal. I suppose it’s their perogative.. I did end up going to TRU and getting Alpha Pal for $1.24, I used my $10.00 gift card from earlier this week on the board game deal. I also got a $5.00 of $25.00 Q today, I will go back this evening to get a few Mr. Potatoe Heads and use the $5.00 off q’s. I am loving TRU!

    • Dana

The target at Spartanburg said flat out that the deal would not be matched. When I asked why, the lady said b/c it would be stealing from the store. uh.. I was kinda dumbfounded and just stared at her. What in the heck do you say to that??? On a side note… Did get them to price match Guesstures from the Big Toy book, used the store coupon and the Hasbro coupon too.

    • Melinda

Got my at Target in Dunwoody, GA bought 3 of the Alpha Pals…No problems!

      • Erin

Love the Target in Dunwoody!!! I went there this morning and they still had 4. They matched the add and allowed me to use the coupon. Gotta love 50 cent Christmas presents! They have excellent customer service people too. Very friendly.

    • Melissa

I did this at the Mt. Juliet, TN store at about 1:30 p.m. today. First I got a real hassle (my ad was printed from the computer) so I asked to speak to a manager. He said it was fine and took my coupon too. $0.56 is what I paid.

    • Mandi

I called the 1-800 number and the lady say they do not price match doorbusters. She specifically mentioned the Toys R Us ad that came out today. I won’t be wasting my gas, as my Target is difficult with most coupons anyway.

    • Beckie

Has anyone tried this at the Target in Gainesville, GA??

    • JEB

Did not work In Lexington, SC store. In my experience with price matching,Walmart is MUCH less picky.

    • Tabitha

I just got back from the store in Lewisville, TX and they were out- I also had them check in Carrollton, and they were out, too. But he did mention that they get trucks every night. So, I may be there at 8am when they open to see if they have them and if they’ll match the ad. It’s less than a mile away, so I’m not worried about the gas ;)

    • Jane

Major issue with matching on this one, three customers ahead of me all got the price match but for some reason they “found” their policy book under the register drawer and decided not to match. The cs @ said that it is their policy and it is clearly stated on their web site but I cannot find it for anything, can anyone else find their policy on price matching?

      • Amanda

I did a search too and could not find anything regarding their price match guarantee. It does state in the coupon policy online that if your target DID NOT accept a coupon, then please contact corporate.

So I guess the catch is to see if they will match the ad. (I don’t understand why they would refuse even a doorbuster – it’s still an ad! (Just wondering – does Walmart honor doorbuster ads?)

    • vani vennapusa

I got 2 of them ,they were happy to price match.

      • Terri

Which store did you go to in Cumming? I live in Alpharetta, but would be willing to drive. Thanks!

        • Alissa

I went to the North Point and they won’t take cause she said they don’t match the door buster prices. But she was so sweet and gave me 30% off and then let me use the $10 Q, so I paid $3.92. But then went to the Target on 141 in Cumming and they took it without a problem.

          I got:
          UP Movie
          Monsters, Inc Movie
          Alphabet Pal
          Up & Up wipes

          All for $13!!

One is for my little one and the other is for toys for tots!!

    • Hsv mom

South Huntsville wouldn’t match either. Said they had a “meeting” this morning and decided they would not honor a “time” sale.

    • Stacey

I bought 3 in Kennesaw, Ga. with no problems although my friend had went to the same store an hour earlier and was hasseled.

    • Jen

After reading all of this, I am adding toy shopping to the list of reasons I am glad I don’t have children. Sorry some of you got the run around- that stinks!

    • melissa

Has anyone tried Target in Arden, NC? I’m going tomorrow but after reading all these post, I’m scared.

    • SavLucEvMommy

A friend tried both the Alpharetta GA store and the Canton GA store, and neither store would take the pricematch b/c it was a doorbuster.

    • Whitney Anderson

Anyone tried any stores in Chesapeake, VA?????

      • Jane

Yep, I was at the one in chesapeake, va and they really put up a stink about it, the cs # said the policy about not matching doorbusters and timed sales was clearly stated on the web site but i cannot find it anywhere

    • drew

Tried it in NC. Denied same as the above. The manager showed me their little flip rule book of policies and it specifically says no price matching on doorbusters/timed ads.

    • jessica

Fayetteville is doing it it BUT Morrow is NOT
Fayette dont have any more left

      • jessica

        oops meant “doesnt”

    • while i was at target today trying to do the leapfrog alphabet pal deal, they showed me their printed company policy on price matching. it clearly stated that they do NOT price match on items that are on sale for only certain hours or days (i.e. doorbusters). oh well!

    • I was able to do this deal today! I had to go to three Targets to find it in stock, but when I did, I bought four of them. Paid less than $3 for four of them!! :)

    • Ann

Anderson, SC would not price match a doorbuster either. The funniest post that I have read so far is Target saying they do not price match a “time” sale. Are all ads not timed? But the biggest problem I see is people going crazy and buying more than 1-2. I have a baby that I would love to have this for, along with several nieces and nephews. But I would limit it to 2 at most. Don’t you hate going to the store and finding no products on the shelf and then reading that someone bought 12 :) Just a thought!

      • Mandie

    • rebecca

My target in Cape Coral, fl said that they can’t price match door buster ad’s

    • Maxine

For those of us that were unluck to get it maybe we will get another shot at it later or some one could maybe tell us of a coupon that we could take it to Wal-mart get the price match and a MF coupon to get the deal better that $8.99 at Target with their coupon.

      • Vicky McLain

I had a bad experience with this one. I went to Harbison and they were sold out. They called the one on 378 and said they had 20 left. So I drove there and then I got denied. One of their employees showed me their policy. Evidently it worked for some.

    • Brandy Dennison

Tried this deal today at one store in town. Spoke with the manager who showed me a policy manual that said it didn’t include door busters or temporary hour sales. However I went to another Target later this evening and did it without a problem. So I think it’s just about who you get and if they want to enforce the “fine print” for the price matching policy. I’ve learned if I go at night, I get alot nicer people. Usually younger generation who really could care less what coupons you use or how many you are using. The daytime crews always seem to be the rude ones and the “know it alls.” Just my opinion. Thanks Southern Savers!

    • Ashley B

Target on Fairview Rd went smooth! There are none left though. I got one and another lady got the last two.

    • Jane

      finally I got someone to help me at the customer service line, whew. 3 calls, 2 times hung up on and multiple “supervisors” finally got to the policy page, they sure do not make it easy to find but here is the link to the price match policy;

    • Natalie

Cranium Game is $7.99. It’s on sale this weekend at TRU for $12.99. Use this manu q for $5 off.

    • Melissa

On my toy there was a coupon for a free book if in the lower left hand corner. You have to register your toy through the leapfrog.com site, but they send you the hardback book for free. Sweetens the deal even more, if your Target cooperated.

    • Stacie

My Target Manager very nicely got the policy flip book and showed me the policy of no doorbusters. However, I just printed the policy off the website with a “Full” list of exclusions, and timed sales or doorbuster were not on it. It would probably help to come armed with that. She was not rude. One more thing, she did say if it was a legitamate price match and the store was sold out, then they will give you seven days to take advantage of the deal (to allow more stock to come in). This was in Anderson, SC. They have never been rude to me- they did say I was the nicest customer to ask about the deal- there had been several irrate and rude customers earlier in the day. I’m not afraid to inquire or ask, but I NEVER press the issue- it’s not worth it, and some of the cashiers even know my face- they always try to work with me. I think a deal is so much less important than the impressions we leave on others. Let’s be careful not to give couponers in general a bad rap!

      • Jason

The online policy doesn’t specifically exclude doorbusters or timed sales, but it does say they will not match limited quantity items, and the Toys R Us ad says all doorbusters are limited quantities in the fine print at the bottom. So if the store will match it, great — but if they won’t, there’s really not any maneuvering room to claim that they should.

I completely agree with you about the impressions we leave on others. And as far as couponers’ reputations, we must remember that the people who keep stores in business are the ones buying items at full price. Sales, price match policies, and coupons are all tools retailers use to lure people in, with the hopes that they will buy some full price items at the same time, or love the product on sale so much they’ll buy it again at full price later, and so on. People like us who cherry-pick the deals are tolerated by corporate, but raising a stink about not getting a 98% discount–especially if it happens on a large scale–can only turn out badly for couponers in general.

    • What a fiasco!!! Target is not a friendly store…this is not the first frustrating experience, but I wanted to be optimistic so I went in at 3:45pm…there were 3 Alphabet Pals on shelf. CS rep politely offered to put them on hold b/c she said I would need to drive to the competitor’s store and get the physical ad in order to get the price match. Drove 24 miles (roundtrip)to get ad. By the time I returned, a Target District Manager has emailed all 14 of his stores warning cashiers not to price match the doorbuster ad. I politely asked them to honor it b/c their representative had asked me to go the distance before their receipt of the company email. The manager got involved emphatically refusing to honor the deal. I asked her “how is a customer to know their many exclusions to price matching when their associates don’t even know them?” She said they are posted in store. I asked her to show me. After walking to half the registers, she stuttered with embarrassment b/c they are not posted at all. Called guest services, was transferred to five people (2 of which were in India), then was told to go back into the store and the phone rep would ask the store manager to make a resolution…a $3 coupon…what? Left frustrated and determined to never shop Target again…they do not care about the people who keep them in business!!!!!

    • elizabeth porter

I am disappointed to see that some couponers are so greedy and rude themselves. If people continue to be so pushy about things like this, then stores will eventually be forced to be much stricter about coupon use which in the end will cause all of us not to be able to continue saving money on reasonable things. I hope some of you will be a little more considerate and courteous yourselves. It doesn’t hurt to try the deal, but being pushy when you don’t get your way is going to cost all of us!

      • Momof2(Greer, SC)

Well said. I totally agree. Whenever we catch a good deal, it’s all happy go lucky but when some deals are denied, some people turn into 3 year olds. Once again the price matching policy clearly states “exclusions…with one of them being items that have a limited quantity”.

    • Erinn

I will give this a try today. I don’t have too many complaints when it comes to Target. I have a Target and a Publix in the same shopping center, and I frequent both places. I do have to say that Target’s grocery section is MUCH cheaper than buying groceries at Publix. (Except on BOGO items, etc.) I have never had any issues with their customer service department either. (Winder, GA)

      • Erinn

I asked the store manager about this deal yesterday, and he agreed to honor it. Nowhere does it say that they do not and will not price match Door Buster deals. The only problem was… they were completely out of the Alphabet Pals. My daughter already has one, but it is an AWESOME deal for our Angel Tree Children at church. He just told me to stop in over the next couple of days, and he should have them in stock.

    • Target in Murfreesboro is out, and Target in Smyrna will not honor…Bummer!!!

    • kathy

I tried the Leap from Alphabet deal from Toys r us. at Target. They would not let me use the ad from Toys are us. They said they do not take door buster coupons. I tried.

    • Tiffany

Target in Tallahassee, FL will not match the price b/c it is a doorbuster sale. I was very disappointed but had to get the toy anyway b/c my daughter fell in love with it. At least I got it for half price.

Also, don’t ever get anything from Target that might need to be returned b/c their return policy sucks. I used to work there so I should know.

    • Ashley

This might not be the place to ask this ? But can you use a store coupon and a manufactures coupon at Target, together on one item? Thanks

      • Momof2(Greer, SC)

Yes, as long as the store coupon is a Target coupon. Target will not accept coupons from other stores.

    • Wendy

Tried the Leap Frog Alphabet deal at the Target on the corner of S. Tryon and Steele Creek Road in Charlotte, NC. Spoke to customer service. They don’t price match on door busters. I was very disappointed to say the least :(

    • Heather

Target in summerville, sc would not accept the coupon and the ad!

    • I bought two pals for .49 each this morning at the Target on North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, Ga and then went home and printed out two more coupons to buy two more when it really set in what a great deal I had gotten…only to be denied the second time around by the customer service clerk.

    • Momof2(Greer, SC)

I went to TRU this morning & they had all bikes (including sale bikes) for an xtra 25% off. I was able to snag a 24 inch trick bike for $51.24 & that includes tax & the 15 month warranty. I was so happy.

    • Sue

We met a lady in target yesterday who was trying to use the coupons for Monster’s Inc. and UP but Target was out of the movies. She told us about your website and Thank you very much. I am so glad to know that this website exists and I am trying to find my way at saving money. But where do you print the coupons for the movies? I am confused about where to get them and the doubling of the coupons
      etc….. Can someone help me?
I can’t wait to go to the workshop in January.
