I feel like doing a dance every time the scale goes down. Yes, I get a little excited even about 1/3 lb and yes I may track it every time. This week the scale started moving again and I think that’s entirely to my not stopping moving all week. My big girls and I ran 3 times plus I got in the garage and did weights and other exercises twice. The weekend did hold an ice cream treat and a marshmallowless smore (I hate marshmallows but love the chocolate and graham cracker). I’m pretty sure I burned that off sleeping in a tent in 40 degree weather though!
The highlight of this week for me was yesterday getting dressed for church, I dug through the closet and found a dress I don’t even remember owning and it fit! I’m down 2 clothes sizes now and feel like I have a whole new wardrobe. As I drop sizes I’m also getting rid of the larger clothes. I always held onto them in the past thinking that I might need them after babies. Babies are over and the clothes need to go!
This week I lost 1.5 lbs. The plan is for 2 per week, so maybe it’s not a success but after my run today I can tell you some of my week last week was gaining muscle. I love that each week the Couch to 5k runs get easier to finish, even though they get longer in duration!
Starting Weight (6 weeks ago): 202
Last Week: 188
Current Weight: 186.5
Goal Weight: 170
We have 4 weeks until the 5k we are registered for, so this week we plan to carry on with running at least 3 days. If you aren’t a runner a encourage you to at least try the C25K app. It’s free and it starts you super slow with 1 minute runs and then walking in between. This week for us was the start of 3 minute runs. While day 1 this week wasn’t a breeze, day 2 was much easier!
One other piece of advice/tip/encouragement I want to share this week is to just keep tracking… everything!
Tracking a BBQ buffet isn’t easy, but it makes me think about just what you put on your plate. I mentioned it last week, but a great free tracker is the MyFitnessPal app. One warning though, it lets you add your exercise burned calories into the amount that you get to eat that day. I would recommend that you not eat your workouts back, so stop yourself from using those extra calories! You can pay for the pro version to not have it do that, but we are all too frugal for that. Just ignore those workout calories!
One other thing that made this a fun week was the number of healthy snack foods on sale this week at Publix. While having snacks on hand can be bad, I grabbed a few of these and my own little snack bags and portioned things out for quick grab and go right sized snacks. Here’s a shopping list with just the healthy things we got.
Tomorrow we weigh out for Dietbet and I’m on track to do great, I hope many of you also are set to win! After that my next big motivator is a family reunion coming up in two weeks. I would love to be almost to 182 by then!
