We are going on Vacation to the Outerbanks and it says they have a HT there. I usually use Publix. Does HT double everyday? I'm guessing their ad starts on WED like Publix from the dates that are listed on some of the post. And do you guys know how long the triples last? We will be going the week of easter!! Thanks guys!

    love it!

Just like a Pharisee--berate/criticize/judge others, then offer to pray for them! And, of course, what's the point in praying, unless everyone knows you're gonna be doing it, huh?
  • HTemployee
It's people like you who make my job miserable:(
  • ddflamingo
i had a manufacturer coupon with the target logo on it and teeter wouldn't take it. is that a common occurence? i even told them that it was a manufacturer coupon, they said no.. has anyone else encountered this?
  • Laura
If its a store coupon with a 'normal' barcode on it most HT will typically take them - the coupons with the target logo on them most often have a 'special' barcode that only work at target.
  • Heather
Yes, they don't accept coupons with another store logo on it. I think sometimes it does depend on the store but my HT in MD will NOT accept them. HTH
  • jess
Can internet printables be tripples as long as the barcode starts with 5? Or aren't internet coupons trippled at all?
  • Heather
Yes those lovely internet coupons will be tripled!!!!!
  • kayborkowski
whoa now! We will have to go through Spartanburg Co to get to HT but I am thinking.....what's a little day trip:)
  • jessica1970
Only thing I'm getting this weekend is some cheap yogurt, coffee, and a gallon of milk. Everything else can wait. Whoo Hooo, Triples!!!!! (Am I a dork, or what?)
  • vgwagoner
no more so than the rest of us! I am starting to think it really pays to be a dork these days. i have spent nearly 3 nights reading this site thoroughly! I am very excited!
  • Heather
Hi all! Just wanted to say that i got a cat today at HT that starting tomorrow 3/19 - 4/10 Kelloggs is running a special of buy 3-4 boxes of cereal, get 1 free gallon milk, but 5-6 get 2, buy 7 or more get 3 free gallons of milk!! Yippee! Wouldn't it be nice on triples week to get some cheap cereal and free milk! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
  • amanda5377
Thanks for making me smile today!
  • Amy
I have a question. Since it is only 20 coupon tripled per transaction, does that mean you can go to another ht to use 20 more coupons.
  • TravelinAmy07
No, it's 20 per day to your VIC Card...you would have to have another VIC card to do more than 20
  • natkins
Sadly no....it is 20 coupons per vic card per day. I usually go once a day w/ my 20, each time they have done these sales I do really well.
  • divalistic1
    Super excited!!!
  • frugalscmom
I knew that would happen since my kids are on Spring Break and I'll havet to take all four of 'em with me. Wonder if I can save enough to pay for some Valium? lol.
  • jessica1970
Same here, but I have only 1. I'll say some special prayers for all my fellow coupon moms (and dads) with kids home on Spring Break.
  • LLCoolMom
Is there a right order to presenting VIC Card and coupons? Should I present VIC card first, then coupons or vice versa?
  • guest
if you do not hand them your vic card before they scan your coupons will not double or triple.
  • guest
You have to present your VIC card before your coupons if you want them to multiply. It *might* still multiply them if you hand over your card last, but it also might freak out the register and not triple them correctly or something. Don't take any chances.
  • Kellie
I don't think it matters but they usually ask for your vic card at the beginning of the transaction.
  • mandbmom
Whoo Hoo!!!!!!!!!! I've got a stack of coupons .75 and can't wait to use them!!!! Thanks Jenny for the great news!!!
  • Jennifer
How exciting!!! Jenny, thank you so much for helping us get prepared!!! I was going to grocery shop this weekend, but I think I'll wait till Wednesday now.
  • Lynne
"Holy Cha-ching Batman!!!" I wish we had somewhere to get triple coupons in the louisville area!
  • weneedatriple
Harris Teeter in Charlotte would not confirm it was for sure but she knew what I was talking about...uh huh oh yeh...
  • Rona
Im soooo excited. and I just cant hide it ..lol.. My girlfriends and I go to HTs once a month for Super Dbls..but this will be even better .I cant wait.. I love your site Jenny!!Keep up the good work.
  • Elizabeth
Is there a Harris Teeter somewhere in the Atlanta area? I searched their website but couldn't find one, and I can't remember seeing any! Thanks! :)
  • vgwagoner
I cant wait! Intentionally did not use my .75 ones yesterday - thanks.
  • Sheri Scott
Thanks Jenny for all you do
  • thecouponman
Seems to me that when ever I go throughthe self check out instead of the register I have a lot more success with my coupons. Just a thought.
  • ddflamingo
when i have tried to do that, the assistant takes the coupons and put them in.. UGH.
  • michelle1503
Wether or not I use self checkout I use that screen like a HAWK b/c sometimes they just don't double! And when you point it out, they will triple it usually b/c the computer does it automatically. When i do self checkout and they take it to their station, I follow them :)
  • Jamie
You are right! I started doing that not too long ago because I can see the screen right in front of me....and I can check to make sure that everything is ringing up right and that my Q's are doubling, or tripling. Good advice :)
  • cjmommie
self checkout rocks! esp if you have a q that might have exp a couple days ago.... I'm just sayin...
  • TC
Gee cjmommie, you are really setting a good example in honesty for your children.
  • cjmommie
Gee TC, could be worse--at least they won't be self-righteous, critical or judgmental of others.
  • Pluff Mud
I agree with you. If they will take them then there is nothing wrong with using an expired coupon. I guess TC has never used an expired coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond....
  • SUE
Unbelievable that you would encourage people to use out dated coupons.Shame on you!!!
  • cjmommie
whatever.... the grocery store is going to get their money from the manufacturer regardless.... they have 6 months to redeem those. a couple days won't make a difference--it's not cheating anyone. I personally don't use exp qs unless they are just a few days exp. And most grocery store managers will take them if you do ask.
  • nicole
the people at the self checkout usually dont pay attention unless you get a manager working it. they only look if it doesnt scan. i've had luck at HT self checkout but we have Lowes Foods where i live and they wont let you do coupons at the self checkout, they are very strict. and as for expired coupons, read the life and death of a coupon on the coupon 101 tab, if its just recently expired its not going to hurt anything. i only use them if its too good to pass up.
  • guest
I strongly disagree. Why would anyone want special breaks?
  • aperture
    What goes around comes around....
  • SUE
Our jobs are in jeopardy when we take expired coupons so I hope you feel good about cheating us and HT and teaching people to be dishonest!!
  • cjmommie
If your job is in jeopardy, then don't take exp coupons. And if a company doesn't want to take an exp coupon, they can have software on their scanners to prevent them, like Target does. However, most companies DO want the coupons, because they still get their money. That is not cheating anyone.
  • SUE
I'm tired of your attitude so have a nice day. I'll be praying for you!!
  • cjmommie
just like a pharisee-berate/criticize/judge others harshly, then say you'll be praying for them!
  • guest
When you go through the self checkout at HT you have to hand all your coupons over to the cashier person that's looking over the self checkout anyway. It's not like you get to scan your own coupons and just sneak in expired ones. Totally not cool to use expired coupons if your store does not specifically say it's okay.
  • ncbeachbum
    Doin' a little dance!!
  • annieflies
    Swoon!
  • Heather
Thanks so much for the head's up!
  • Jessica
if i had just waited a few minutes a could have found out here! thanks again Jenny
  • kidsallgone
So would it be safe to say that any coupons over 50 cents (since Publix only doubles those) should be saved for this HT event? Just checking. Still kinda new and learning....Thanks for any info.
  • Jamie
Yes Ma'am, any coupon .99 or less will be tripled!

Although it varies by store, if the top of the coupon says "DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE". If you look at the bar codes on your coupons, the very first number on the very far left is either a tiny little 5 or a 9. As long as the bar code begins with a tiny little 5, it will double or in this case triple, regardless of what the coupon says.
  • maggie
if the cashier is on the ball at HT, she will override the do not double coupons, reguardless of the number on the coupon. It is HT policy!
  • RuyaTuya
its HT policy to double DND coupons? I had a manager tell me they do NOT double DND and they didnt double my DND either, i guess I need to re-read their coupon policy then
  • cjmommie
my ht is a stickler for dnd. I've found that it's much better to go to the Kroger near my HT, and they will honor triples when HT is doing it (even dnd) and no limit (they will take more than 20)! Kroger's prices are much better anyway!
  • Jamie
LUCKY! I wish I had a Kroger or Publix near me....but all I have are HT and FL. :(
  • chele17
Depends on your store too!!! My store will NOT take a DND 5 coupon.
  • Jamie
Like I said it my original post it definitely depends on the store. Most of them at my HT don't even pay attention to it, but there is one lady that thoroughly inspects my Q's and will not double or triple any of those. I have tried to explain it to her, but she is not trying to here it. lol
  • chele17
Sorry, I did'nt see that in your post! Even thought it's the 1st sentence!!!!:)LOL
  • mckenlysmommy
Do ALL Kroger stores do triple coupons when HT is doing them???? Kroger is much closer to me than HT, so I am new to the couponing thing and don't really know all the tricks yet!!!
  • leighsc
Any chance Bloom may join in?
  • That is always a last minute decision from Bloom and from the Kroger stores in other areas that do it to compete. You'll need to call them the day before to find out :(
  • blueeyes99
YES!!!!! FINALLY!!!! GONNA START GETTING THEM TOGETHER NOW :)
  • Alison
    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am so excited!!!!!!
  • Crystal
    Hoot hoot Hoot
  • Thanks! I will start on the coupons.
