      I wish I could buy a normal, regular backpack….we have to have clear or mesh in our county :-( Anyone have any ideas on personalizing a clear or mesh backpack?? Last year I put stickers on my daughters clear backpack but they starting looking gross after a while…like a band-aid that's been on for too long!!

        They did that to us when I was in Highschool…and you know what…we TRIED hiding things in between our books, and I promise you, you still couldn't tell what was in there! I think that's silly….they should implement the walkthrough machines at the door before the clear/mesh backpacks, they really don't make a difference.

          I know!! It's really irritating b/c they're hard to find and in most cases are more expensive than a regular backpack, they hardly ever go on sale that I'm aware of. And the problem for me is, my daughter is messy and throws her unfinished bags of snacks in it and the crumbs get all in it and you can SEE IT since it's clear…soooo annoying and gross!!
          I don't understand why we have to have them….we've never had any trouble with weapons at our school and none in the county as far as I know. I figure a kid who is trying to smuggle a weapon in, is going to find away regardless. Like you said, in between their books, or in their lunchbox, pockets, etc…..
          But that's the rule so we have to follow it so I'm stuck with it, whether I like it or not :-(

        try using those perm. markers you can use on windows – use microsoft and print out the font and size you want it , then put inside the bookbag- and trace. just a thought…

      You could use Iron on letters or shapes.

        I was thinking about that….. but will it work on mesh with all those holes in it? Probably would melt the clear one.

      I used the same LL Bean backpack for all 4 years of college, 15 years ago! My backpack is still in good shape today despite years of carrying books, camping, overnighting, and as a carry-on at the airport. Go LL Bean for making such a great backpack!
