First, I am not advocating credit cards…
Walmart Credit card holders, check your monthly statement for a fun surprise.  For the last three months statements have come with coupons!
Here are the coupons found in this month’s statement (all expire 1/02/11):
.25/1 Peter Pan Peanut Butter
$1/4 Hunts Diced Tomatoes
$1/1 Marie Callendars Pies
$1/4 Rotel diced tomatoes
$1/2 Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa
.25/1 Pam nonstick cooking spray

(thanks Cindy!)

I think I’ve seen it all with coupon locations now.   Before credit card statements the funniest place was a holder in the Woman’s restroom of a grocery store.

Any fun coupons you’ve stumbled upon lately in weird locations?

    • The strangest place I have found coupons was printable coupons online on the AARP website. I copied this from their site.

“AARP members can now wake up to good news from the Kellogg Company. To take advantage of these exclusive savings on Kellogg’s® brand name cereals, visit the Grocery Coupon Center–powered by Coupons.com today!”

      http://www.aarp.(DOT) org/content/aarp/en/home/benefits-discounts/discounts (SLASH) shopping/info-2010/grocery-coupons.html

There are 2 that are exclusive to AARP members:
      1.35 off 2 Kellogg’s All Brand and/or Corn Flakes
3.00 off juice wyb 3 Kelloggs Smart Start, All Bran, Rice Krispies…

    • Shayelyn

Not exactly a weird location, but I always smile when I see someone has left coupons they are not using next to the products they are for. I do the same thing if I have a coupon I know I'm not going to use. I just makes me think of a small random act of kindness.

      • LadySiren

LOL, during the last SDs at Harris Teeter, I was papering the store with coupons I couldn't use. The “normal” shoppers must've thought I was some weird litter bug.

        • I do the same thing! I feel like the Coupon Fairy when I do it :D

          • Monica

This is a good idea. I like coupon karma!!

            • Tracey Durham

I will hand out coupons to people too but my friend thinks that people don't like to be bothered while shopping. It makes me feel better. Sorry if I offend anyone.

            • Couponjunkie

You can “offend” me all you want. I love to find coupons on the store shelves when I'm shopping. I gave diaper/wipe coupons to a lady this week in Kroger.

        • Allison

I do the same thing. And I've found several useful coupons this way.

        • Germaine Jenkins

I've randomly found coupons stuck on shelves near sale items. Thanks and keep up the good work!

      • I do that too! We call it Koupon Karma.

        • Tammy Y

Me, too. I call it being a “coupon farie”. I have actually found others do it, too and I love the idea- spread the love!

          • Karensweeney2002

kind of a “Coupon Pay It Forward”… LOVE IT!!

        • Meganclaycohen

i do it too and it has always came back around, it pays to be kind!

      • Barb

I had some extra Campbell's Chunky soup coupons I left at Kroger the other night. They would make each can .49. There was a man by himself studiously picking out flavor after flavor. I wanted so badly to point out the coupons I had left and hoped that he would check it out after I moved on. I hate to say anything because some people look at coupons differently than we do….but money is money, right?

        • ChrissyPunkin

I've given people coupons I can't use many times, and everyone has always been grateful. What's the hurt in saying something? It's easy for me to talk to strangers, though, and I understand not everyone is comfortable with it. Giving someone a coupon that they can use is like handing them money, so unless the person is dressed super fancy–go for it. :-)

        • Swoodr4105

I have given coupons several times to perfect strangers and have always been received very nicely.

        • Laura York

I found out that overseas military can use coupons that are 6 mo. expired. You can send them to: Coupon Program

          39 FSS/ FSFR

          Unit 7505, Box 175

          APO, AE 09824

And they distribute them out to military personal and families on base.

      • Erin

I do that too, and if someone pops in line behind me when I have a big stack of coupons I try to help them out too. After giving them fair warning, I scan the items that they have on the belt to see if I have anything extra to give them. They usually think its great, and aren't as upset about waiting an extra minute or 2.

    • dee

I've noticed you get coupons when you print a wedding or baby registry at Target. They are store q's and print on the last page.

      • ladybugpam

I asked about that on wed@Target cuz I saw something about it on their website. it is called a Baby Welcoming Kit. It is a bag full of coupons and samples of baby-related stuff that you get a coupon for when you print the registry. You take the coupon to cust serv to redeem your kit. My baby is almost 6 mo., so I thought we might still be eligible. I was thinking it is for a baby shower registry and I was no longer eligible cuz I've already had my shower. Now I am wondering: Can a registry be for baby's xmas gifts or bday gifts? I would like to get the kit, but I am not going to cheat for it. That's bad coupon karma! If anyone knows the answer, let me know, thanks:)

10% off Lowe's Home Improvement when I went to fill out a form to change my address at the post office!

      • Autumn

Home Depot will also honor Lowe's coupons.

        • Michelle Bradberry

Actually, if you do your change of address in person, there are some in the packet the post office gives you and then another packet will arrive at your new address to confirm your change and more will be in there. I just did a change of address 2 months ago and between the two packets for each person with a different last name in my household, I scored 2 Lowe's Q's, a $5/$20 Publix Q, a Q for Pier 1, and another for Best Buy. I don't remember which were in the packet with the form and which were in the confirmation packet. BUT, I know there were valuable Q's in each one. SO, even if you're not moving, I reccomend at least once a month, go to the post office and ask for a change of address packet. Just pick some up when you're there buying stamps, etc. Who cares if you don't actually fill out the form?

They used to be out on the counter with theother forms. Now, there is jusut a stack of cards on the counter directing people to the website so you'll have to wait in line and ask for one and the postal worker may try to talk to you about saving time by doing a change of address online. Just tell them that you know the USPS will charge your CC $1 for online change of address and the old school forms are free. That should be enough to get them off your back without “fibbing”.

As I mentionned before, I needed a separate form for each member of my household with a different last name, so go ahead…ask for a few…they shouldn't have a problem with that.

          • scott

just ask, beleive me, we dont want you doing anything online….the usps is losing 30 million dollars a day becuase of all the business people do online instead of the mail. yes, managment want us to encourage you to do it online…but us clerks who are facing an unsure future are not going to try to talk you into doing it online…..also, even alot ou usps people pay are bills online but we ask of one thing…please do not go paperless!! then we also lose the revunue of the bill co. sending you a monthly statement…ok, i've said my peace…lol….scott….carbondale, il.

    • Zombiemommy

The dentist office and pediatrician office at the checkout have yielded good coupons.

    • Cmurphy786

I found coupons at the bottom of my Tide Detergent box. I didnt expect to see that. There were 4 coupons one for Tide, Downy, Energizer batteries, & Bounce.

      • Catandbecca

good reason to buy powder, rather than liquid! Remember when that was all you could buy?

    • Autumn Newman

Wow! It seems like most of the coupons listed here could be used toward purchasing the ConAgra products to get the coupon booklet and $5 Wal-mart gift card.

    • The strangest place I have found coupons was on the AARP website. They have a link to coupons (DOT) com with 2 coupons that are exclusive to AARP members.

1,35 off 2 Kellogg's All Bran or Corn Flakes
3.00 off juice wyb 3 Kelloggs Smart Start, All Bran, Rice Krispies…..,

      • David

        which month?

    • Mary J

Geico keeps sending us coupons. My husband and I have both been on Geico insurance since before we got married, but they still send us mailers asking us to switch to them. It's a little silly, I think. But apparently they have a rewards program that you can join for free and get discounts at places like Zales. If only we had known before he bought my engagement ring…

    • LadyO

Our quarterly newsletter from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida has contained coupons for retailers as well as food products. Check the very last page of the newsletter to see if you have any. I am not sure if it matters who the membership went through. My DH had been throwing them away, until I saw they were coupons! Now, I have trained him to look for the BCBS coupons before discarding the advertising.

    • Pink_10_princess

I got a lot of good coupons that don't expire until at least 3/11 in a disposable broil pan I bought to cook. It is a Hefty one!! :)

    • Nwoleslagle

Don't think they come with on-line bills.

    • christy

found a BUNCH on the cooler doors at the Murphy Gas Station outside a walmart in soddy daisy, tennessee…lots for single drinks and snack-type stuff…slim jims, minute maid orange juice, coke, mellow yellow, candy bars…

      • Karensweeney2002

My “Pilot” Truck Stop/Gas Station has a lot of tearpads on their cooler doors too… they say “Manufacturer's Coupon” so I take 2 of each (s.o.p.) and use them on my grocery shops!

    • Teacher Momof2

The Orlando Sentinel will place a $3.00 off $30.00 on the bottom corner of the front page of the sports section on Fridays.

    • nicole

I went to the Dr today and there were coupon tearpads on the counter in front of each dr's window. They were fo fiber one bars.

    • Wendysurfmom

I had them come in my Health Insurance statement…for healthy foods!

    • Kristina B

The newsletter type pamphlet that our Electric company sends out every month. Never really read them until several months ago when my 7 year old saw a coupon in it. Now I check it the day it comes in.

    • OnMyWay2Glory

    • michelle

coupon i found in a weird spot i thought…. i accidentally got a sunday paper delivered to my house last week and on the freaking plastic wrap of the newspaper was a kroger coupon.

    • Roseandrea22

I have found coupons in the insert of the tampax tampon boxes.

    • djm

I have Giant Eagle in my city and recently they opened a fabulous new concept store, in their ad for that week there was$1.00 off Get Go gas with purchase of a new or transferred prescription, up to 30 gallon, i had two prescriptions that needed to be filled, and transferred two from another pharmacy, added to my shopping fuel perks I accumulated $5.40 in fuel perks…with gas at $2.99.9 this week it was a thrill to get my 30 gallon FREE with $2.40 left over! ( got another prescription to pick up today, whee, another dollar! )

      • djm

I must say I had to ask around for coupons from my son and a neighbor, because they were available in that store for the grand opening week, only. I just picked up a couple each time I was in the store.

      • DJM, I am not sure where you live but I work for GetGo and thought I would pass a tip on to you. You can purchase gift cards at Giant Eagle and use them like cash at other retailers to earn fuelperks. Also, (most) GE double coupons up to 0.99. There is another money saving concept that I am sure will be coming to your area soon call foodperks. For ever 10 gallons of gas you purchase you earn 1% off of your grocery purchase. You can let this accumulate. Like fuelperks, they expire 2 months from the month you earn them.

        • djm

Thanks Christina, GE started the foodperk program about a year ago and I save them till I am doing my “big shopping”. Last time I shopped I spent over 50.00 and paid 33.00! Of course I used coupons and I had several catalinas, but we gotta save it where we can. I am fortunate to live where we have GE, Meijer, WalMart and Kroger so with the competition double coupons up to .99 are something I take for granted until I talk to my sister who lives in a small town with 1 Kroger, 1 WalMart and a Food Lion, Kroger being the only store that doubles, and then only to .50, she does get some AWESOME deals at Rite Aid though!

    • Chiefsangeleyes

$5 off coupon for Hallmark store in Martha Stewart Living 2010 issue. (subscription only?) It's an insert, looks like a credit card size gift card says “$5 off any purchase.” Fine print reads “minimum purchase $5!”

      • Awest

There is also one in Redbook – the one with Christina Agulara (totally spelled wrong) on the cover.

    • Aprilhayden4

I love my coupon fairy here at the commisary…people who shop there leave their extra coupons that they have cut out on the product…so that those who are going to buy it see it right there…I have found a number of these and they have helped me out alot.

    • djm

I failed to mention an independent store called Marc's in my area, they have awesome prices but do not double coupons…they have Yakisoba noodles for 2/1.00 all the time, I compiled enough coupons to take 40 packages of these to my church food pantry, for free! I try to take a bag or bags of something every week, coupons on staple items really help me to buy more than I normally can afford. I love a good peanut butter coupon and wish ConAgra would be more generous with their chilie, beef stew and meat items coupons, I love to take a case of peanut butter or tuna or chilie to the pantry!!

    • spontaneous combustion

where is the green? we talk about saving our trees, our land and yet we want coupons. where have our senses gone? cannot these so called retailers just reduce their prices for we blue-collar workers–give us a break? advertisement still comes everywhere on tv., radio, magazines and billboards—they(retailers) still can get their products across to all of us. put the scissors away,we don't need them if you will just cut those prices and don't gouge us by double dipping.
