CVS Logo

Here are all the deals in the CVS ad starting 8/21. It’s not a thrilling ad if you want free deals, however it is a great ad if you need paper towels or toilet paper. Hopefully some of you have some ECB saved up so that you can get paper goods for almost if not free this week!

If you haven’t already, make sure that you are signed up for the CVS Beauty Club. There are a ton of Beauty ECB deals this week and with the Beauty Club you’ll earn an additional $5 ECB for every $50 you spend on Beauty (before coupons). It keeps track of your spending so you don’t have to buy it all at one time or even this week, but you might as well be tracking for that extra savings!

Getting Started Scenario

  • It is very important to start small. If you go overboard, you will really have no clue what went wrong, so get one item then another and then go home. Go bigger when CVS makes more sense.
  • Transaction #1

My Scenario Plan

    • Not a great week but not as bad as last week for sure :)  Thanks for all you do Jenny!

      • i think the opposite haha i see nothing that i want and last week i had an awesome week! ;)

      • i think the opposite haha i see nothing that i want and last week i had an awesome week! ;)

      • Shiannesmom

Does anyone else recieve the $5 off $25 or more? I get one every week by email so I try to match the sales, ecb, and coupons to get up to a $25 order. After the $5 off and all my coupons I end up getting all my extra care bucks back that I used for that purchase and just pay the tax. I get so excited about the upcoming sales every week because I can get everything free with the exception of paying the tax!!!!!

        • sarah

the last couple weeks I was getting a 10 of 50 coupon like 3 times a week! it was crazy because I used to never get coupons likes that. But today I went and got a $3 off $15 baby purchase so thats great also

        • sarah

Starting at some point last year, up until this spring, I was getting those emails with the $4/20, $5/25, etc., every week. Now all I get as emails are % off cvs.com, which means very little savings. Not worth it.Bummer!

        • LM

This is the first week in a long time that I haven’t gotten a $5 off $25! So sad!

          • Ashwillis83

I got a 25% off coupon but it excludes sale items, so I was dissapointed.

    • raz

In the getting started scenario, I think you probably meant to add the $5 ECB to the second transaction to make the total cost $0.99 after the coupon and ECBs are subtracted.

Thanks for your time spent posting…I really appreciate it!

    • guest

I have a cvs coupon for a free pack of buggies jumbo diapers for buying 6 previously. Does anybody know if I could combine this with a manufacturers coupon for that same pack?

      • Shane

If you are buying more than one item, I think the manufacturers coupon you use would just be deducted off of your total. The EC coupon should be the LAST thing scanned… so if it won’t automatically take it, the cashier will manually put it in. At least, thats how I roll :-)

        • Guest

That’s great news! I hope my store goes along with this! It made sense in my head to be able to use the manufacturer coupon and the free coupon since it’s still a manufacturer combined with a EC coupon but I wanted some input! Thanks yall! :)

        • Guest

If I am buying other items, with coupons, and the diapers with the CVS coupon and manufacturer coupon, what order should I give the coupons in? All manufacturers then the diaper coupon? I am trying to avoid any drama at the registers!

      • Ahpeal

Yes, you can combine it with a manufacturer’s coupon. I did that 2x a few weeks ago.  So, if it gives you an overage of $1.50, just make sure you have other items that will use up that overage. Yeah for you!!!

      • Syndilew

Yes, you can, I did this for the carefree pantiliners as well as the kotex pantiliners to pay for other things.  HTH

        • Zee

          ooooh!!! thanks

        • Jane

You may have gotten away with it because the cashier wasn’t paying attention.  But does that make it right?  CVS does not give overage according to every manager I have talked to so it might be nice to just go by the rules :)

      • Anonymous

I can explain it in logical terms; whatever happens or pushed thru at register is a different story.

        Read carefully!

If you are just buying just ONE Huggies item scanned, then you can not use manuf Q. This is because store price would be set to $0.00 when you scan CVS free Q. Thus, there is no balance left on Huggies and therefore, no Huggies mauf Qs can be used which would otherwise push the balance on Huggies to “negative.” This is your answer in this para; but if anyone likes to learn more, then proceed to next para.

If you had b1g1 store Q, then you could use manuf Q (even up to two) coupled with store b1g1 Q so as long as “values of coupon(s) do not exceed the total price of item(s)” meaning no “overage” is normally allowed. (Let’s say, Huggies were $6; so you would buy 2 for atotal of$12. You would apply store b1g1 to deduct $6 leaving $6 baance on Huggies. Now if you had manuf Q for $2 each, you could use two of them to bring the ttal to $2 for two Huggies-That would have been “legit).

If there were store sale b1g1, then you could possibly use CVS free Q on the “full price” item making both free and thus no room to use another manuf Q. This is what it is “normally.”

Now on technical side. Unless CVS register has changed this recently (rarely shop CVS anymore-no deals), your CVS Free Q and manu Q will probbaly scan thru “normally” on just buying one Huggies item scanned and even if there is “overage.” (Unlike RA register) CVS register does not allow overage on manuf Q. If manuf Q value exceeds the price of the item, then it beeps prompting the cashier to supposedly adjust the Q value down to whatever the item price is. Some manuf Qs such as Schick razors now even states “no overage alowed if Q value exceeds the item price.” On the other hand, store Qs seemed to have scanned even for overage regardless of manuf Q used.  In other words, store free Q will take off Huggies price, and manuf Q will also scan because store and manuf Qs are irrespective of each other and the register recognizes them individually and apply the discount individually as if the one or the other were never scanned for the “total applicable item price”. And that is why some of you below have been able to use it that way and enjoyed the “overage.”

With that said, I am surprised no coupon ethics have jumped in and contributed their sorrow for “abusing” the coupon for overage benefits in such a way. I am neither for or against it, though-But the above is simply based on facts.

        • Guest

Just playing devil’s advocate here: why would you not still be able to use a store coupon and a manu q?

          • Helen

From what I understand, ultimately you can and you’re allowed to, but the fact is that you are getting the item for free from the store coupon, therefore in the store’s eyes you shouldn’t get to use the manufacturers coupon ontop of it just to save on other items in your basket. Although it will work because of how the system is made. It’s kind of the same dilemma that arises from B1G1 promotions.

          • Anonymous

It is just the same. Why cant  you use manuf $ off Q coupled with manu b1g1 Q when there is store sale of b1g1 !  The whole idea is the same. Ideally, “values of applicable coupon(s) should not exceed the total price of those applicable item(s)”

      • Mkcuz2000

Is the buy 6 huggies get one free printed anywhere so that I can ask my store about it?? I bought 4 of the new Slip on diapers and then 2 little movers in a separated transaction…I thought the free pack should have printed but it did not.  Is this an ongoing deal at CVS?  Anyone know details so I look like I know what I am talking about when I ask about it at the store?  Thanks!

        • It comes out of the red coupon machine when you scan your card. It took mine about 2 days to come out after I bought my 6th pack of Huggies.

          • Mkcuz2000

ok, thanks so much Megan…i thought it printed on the receipt. I will have to scan my card when I go tomorrow and hopefully it will print for me!! Thanks!

            • Cathy

I’ve been seeing on comments about the 6th pack for free, but I’m just now seeing it at the bottom of my receipt this week for Pampers only. Wonder if they are doing different areas at different times. It did not include the pack I bought last week. My store finally got some of the Huggies Slip-On’s in stock but in Size 3 only. Figured I can exchange them for a larger size if needed.

        • Guest

It is an ongoing deal…buy 6 jumbo packs, get a coupon for the next one to be free. I bought 5 earlier in the summer and bought two this Sunday…my coupon printed on Wednesday afternoon from the red machine

        • Kristen

I bought 4 huggies slip on last week and I don’t think they count towards the free pack.  On the bottom of my receipt it says I haven’t bought any huggies toward the reward.

      • Wendy

        Yes, I did that twice.

    • Amy

      this week stinks!

      • Helen

        ditto

        • Emily

yeah well at least we always have the magic red coupon machine : )

          • valerie

I am so laughing at all of our posts, we are some of the smartest consumers in the country and we are also so into it that we cannot stand it when there is nothing thrilling to save on!!   My boyfriend calls it an addiction, but he sure does like getting things for free!!  LMAO

      • Happy1

Oh well, at least we are covered from end to end, lol Hips  to Lips!  Toilet paper & lipstick.

        • Bryant6_t

          LOL!  That’s funny.

      • Smartgirlsaving

I look at it as a break! It does stink this week!

      • Bryarsmom

        Indeed it does, Amy.

    • Ashwillis83

Is anyone else having trouble printing the softsoap coupon? Id like to take advantage of the sale. I love those body washes.

      • happy1

If u love those have u tried the olay w/ the 7 I don’t know what specifically it’s referring to or the Gold Bond Body washes??? OMG u know how much we get to try w/ all the couponing & these two rock.

        • Ashwillis83

Ive heard good things about the Gold Bond. I enjoy alot of Dove body washes too. But the scents I usually like are not on sale at drugstores (of the Dove). So i usually have to get them at Walmart. I know gold bond was on sale the other week and I believe their was coupons on the packages because they were new. Hopefully their will be some coupons in the paper one week and they will go on sale? Does anyone know if they are going on sale again anywhere anytime soon?

      • Helen

I have the same problem. It directs to the colgate website for coupons, but a softsoap coupon isn’t there.

        • Jane

The Soft Soap coupon used to be there but no longer…..a few more of the coupons I see listed in the ad deals are no longer there either.

      • Becky P.

Thank you.  I was wondering why I couldn’t find it.  I really like those body washes too.

    • lowes91

I have alot of coupons that I am not gonna use..some are for the sales this week..some expire on 8/28- 8/31 the others are good till September..I hate for these to go to waste..if anyone would like them email me your address at lowes91@ymail.com..I will split them up between the first 3 emails

    • Denise

for the bounty, I have the coupon from the PG booklet for the bounty basic. Will that work or not?

      • Smartgirlsaving

I believe it is Bounty Basic that CVS usually puts on sale. If the coupon says for Bounty Basic only and a different Bounty is onsale I wouldn’t use the coupon.

    • millie

looks like an awesome week for me, but i am bummed that i got mitchum deodorant today because i had a b1g1 cvs coupon that was expiring as well as manf coupons to go with it. oh well, still did well. have a great week everyone!

    • Zee

I’m so glad I saved my Facebook Bounty coupon for this great deal.

      • gardengirl

Thanks for your comment, I had forgotten about mine.  We don’t use Charmin or Puffs, so I didn’t click on that deal until I read your comment!

    • Ashwillis83

Does anyone know if Brawny is on sale anywhere. I have all the drugstores around me. But the only grocery stores I have are Ingles and Bilo. Maybe they will go on sale at Bilo or Ingles since they will double the coupon. I figured they would somewhere since their was a coupon in the Sunday paper.

    • Alison

Are Upromise coupons based on zip b/c neither bounty or charmin are showing up for me :-(

      • Lea

Do you also use Savingstar? If you do, they do the q’s for both Savingstar and Upromise so you can only load the q on one or the other so check your Savingstar acct. Otherwise, it may have been a q that is no longer available to load.

      • Em

I can’t find either of them on Upromise as well. Kind of frustrating.

    • i have huggies/other diaper coupons to trade for schick hydro refill coupons. email me brittany.juraszek@gmail.com

    • Is it me or are the ads getting worse every week?

      • Portraitsbytamika

I think they are reevaluating the rewards and not giving us as much as they used to.  I am new to couponing and it seems likes as soon as I am getting the swing of it, they are slowing down.  It does not matter to me though because the moment they stop making it a great deal for me, the moment I go elsewhere with my money.

Today I got a $10 gas card, but no rewards for my next purchase.  I only see a few things I would buy for next week if anything.

        • HollyO

I guess they can’t put up a new building on every block AND give us deals!

      • Anonymous

I think overall, there have been less money maker deals and they have definitely made the limits smaller on the deals, but over all I’m still saving money!

        • Nymomnfla

I agree with you as I see less deals at all stores or I see the price goes up when the item goes on sale.  I live in Pinellas County Florida and the newspaper did a half page article on couponing. The story involved how some stores will be changing their policy’s for coupon usage, stores not stocking enough of the sale items, people stealing coupons from the newspaper stands and off the items at the stores, etc.  I think the show Extreme Couponing has ruined it for alot of us by showing people getting a thousand dollars worth of groceries for near nothing.  If I save 50% or more I feel as I did well.  I have been using coupons for years and I think we are going to see more changes regarding sales and deals.

          • Fallaya

People having been taking peelies off of products way before Extreme Couponers came on the scene.  The same with stealing inserts from newspapers.  I honestly think stores are changing their policies because of the economic condition of our country.  No one I know watches Extreme Couponers.  I’ve never seen even one episode (I’m boycotting the TLC channel for personal reasons).  It’s frustrating, but we need to hang in there.  Some weeks will be better than others.  Just keep checking the advanced copies of ads found on various blogs.

          • Lay May

I definitely agree with you (Orlando, Fl)
I’ve been getting some good deals lately but not as many (I’m 17, so I haven’t been doing this for years and years, but it’s been a while)
It seems kind of insulting to me that stores think we are just now getting smart:p
but I’ve definitely noticed that Publix has been raising their prices (I’ve bought things one day and seen the price be different the next).
I’ve been couponing for Feds Feed Families, andthere have only seemed to be a few deals that you can get enough of for it to matter (especially when the item has been cleared off of the shelf)
But I went from being able to get from more than $700 worth of products free or extremely cheap to only saving 64%
I only coupon because it’s fun to me, weird for a teenager but true none-the-less, and it is starting to be a headache, especially CVS’s Gas Deal because a few Clerks at my CVS are cluelesss

      • valerie

no, its not you, things have slowed down here in Texas.   I am still saving but I have to be a math genius and also go to the stores multiple times to maximize the small number of great deals.  But I do love my stockpile everytime I look at the stock market!!

    • Anonymous

If you have not already used them there was a Bengay $5/1 printable coupon so check your binders.

    • Aroberts14

Hello, Ok, I have a silly question. Can you use 2 $5 of $25 purchase on one $25 purchase?

      • JO

No.  The fine print says it can’t be combined with other $ off of certain $ amount coupon.

        • Aroberts14

Guess I need to read that fine print. Thanks :) gotta go get my glasses lol

          • Bzmomf2

An employee at my store said that as long as the total is still above $25, they will continue to go through. I’ve only done it once, but it worked. Just try it & see.

      • Tiff715

        no

    • Andrew Powers14

Don’t really know the best place to post but I have (4) $5.00 Enfamil m.coupons and (1) $4.00 Enfimil Pulbix coupon. Combined for $9.00 off what I think is any Emfamil product.  Interested in exchanging for Huggies/Pampers coupons.  Email me at andrew.powers14@yahoo.com

      • Solennerz

I have 6/$4 off any Enfamil Formula coupons (exp Sept30) anyone wanna exchange for any gain, paper towel or toilet paper coupons. Email me: solennerz@gmail.com

        • Mandy_51

I  just emailed both you of about trades! thanks!!

    • Jennifer

So with the Revlon lip color (limit 3), I can get $15 ECBs if I purchase three? For some reason, I was thinking that you could purchase one and get the $5 ECBs, and then get up to two more, but wouldn’t get the ECBs on the next two. Can someone clarify/confirm this? Thanks!

      • Anonymous

You will get $5 ECB for each lipstick bought that is $6.99 or more (up to 3).  It doesn’t have to be done all at the same time.  You can spread it out over the next week.

        • Jennifer

Thanks so much! This is great to know :)

          • Anonymous

Having said that, I’ve been looking in my CVS sale paper and cannot find the deal Jenny mentions for the $5 ECB’s on the Revlon lipstick.  Make sure you check with your store before purchasing.

            • Anonymous

Found it!  It’s on the last page of the sale paper, not in the middle where the other cosmetics are listed.  Hope you get the shades you want.

            • Jennifer

              Thanks for looking into this!!

        • leslie

it has to be 3 separate trans, I almost got screwed

      • Anonymous

I bought 2 Revlon lipsticks tonight in one transaction; and received a $10 ECB for them.

    • Anonymous

Blech, I think I’ll be sitting out this week. Even with the TP “deal” it still makes the rolls about $.45 each.

      • Anonymous

The last two weeks have sucked, big time.  I have about $18 in ECB that will expire 8/30 and it seems to me CVS knows that and is intentionally putting things I don’t need on sale so I will have to use them on nonsale items.

      • Palazesi

I have a bunch expiring this week, so I guess i will go get TP, unless I can find some great clearance deals to use them on.  I am headed off to go wander the store…

    • Coupon Dad

Maybe I am special this week but the Revlon coupon where is it? I am from Georgia I have looked in depth and I can’t find it! Help anyone!

      • Anonymous

Make sure you are looking at next weeks ad.  Go online to cvs.com, click on next weeks ad, and its on the last page.  Remember, CVS sales are Sunday through Saturday.

      • Anonymous

It’s on the last page of the circular for next week.  Go to CVS’s website and download the circular for NEXT week.  Remember, the sales go from Sunday to Saturday.

        • Coupon Dad

The other question I have and maybe this will make it more clear I didn’t see the 1.00 off coupon in the ss 8/14 is it that my region just doesn’t have it or do i need to be looking on a different date?

          • Rudy6

I’m from GA too. I found  $1 Q but not in the SS 8/14. It’s in SS 7/17.

            • Ashley_hairstylist

I am from Ga  too and I did’nt find either dissappointing:(

          • Esha

I found mine in the 7/17 SS.. HTH.. I am from GA too.

      • meg

I am from Ga too.  I could never find the $3 coupon, but did find the $1 coupon.  I did not find it in the SUnday SS 8/14 but the smaller midweek SS8/14 that I get with my neighborhood paper

    • valerie

I got smart this week and shopped right after the trucks delievered to CVS and Walgreens in the middle  of the week, so stock was available
I also got another family member their own CVS card so we can up our limit of ECB’s
I also make sure to share great coupons with my favorite Walgreen’s lady and she makes sure she rings me up in multiple trans as needed to maximize savings…make a friend at your favorite stores and there are no hassles, it’s fun

      • jennaj81

You may not be aware of this but you are only supposed to have 1 card per family/household. If you have more you are taking more than your fair share. The more people that do this the less product will be left for the rest of us who are playing by the rules.

        • Anonymous

Same goes for online Qs- one Q per household

        • valerie

I am fully aware of this policy. However, my son just turned 18 so last time I checked, he is an adult and can use his card and buy products. I am in no way taking more than my fair share, which is a rude assumption on your part. I do not clear shelves for a thrill. I am teaching my son how to be a savvy consumer and enable him to then buy the things with ECB’s that I would perhaps not. Now it is his choice, and since he is college bound, saving money is essential. So please ask a question in a re don’t make an assumption. We are all in this together.

          • Clip123

I agree with Valerie. My son is in college in another town, works part-time and is trying to support himself. He has his own card and I’m helping him to learn to shop at CVS. However there are times that he needs help and I use his card to help him stock up instead of giving him cash.

    • Anonymous

If you all have not noticed already,

Marketers have caught up with “smart shopping.” Now they advertise coupons out there that week and in compromise have reduced ECBs so as you dont get many “free” or “moneymaking” items.  Advertising coupons is bad because more people out there would be aware and looking to grab coupons and would mean less coupons available in general. It looks like these blogs have backfired

      • Fallaya

        I agree.

      • Mcleodsc

The problem with advertising coupons as part of a deal is that some newspapers get crappy coupons or no coupons. I have pointed this out repeatedly at CVS-the coupons that are part of a deal are not in The Item or The State newspapers.

    • Srgordon

Didn’t know where else to post this but Sam’s Club is having their evalues savings event from Aug 31- Sept 5 so if you are a member than you will be able to save throughout the club with the coupons/evalues pre-loaded to your card, some stuff is still cheaper with coupons and sales but on my evalues I get $2 off beef, $2 off Ore-Ida fries making them only $4.62 for an 8 lb bag so might want to consider upgrading if you aren’t a plus memeber, coupons change every 3-4 weeks

      • Srgordon

On top of savings through the pharamacy, getting five free vehicles reports, and one free health screening a year, plus in addtion if you have a Sam’s Club Discover Card you would be able to earn up to 2% cash back

    • Jennifer S.

There’s a $3 off revlon cosmetic wyb a revlon beauty tool.  There’s also a $1/1 Revlon beauty tool coupon.  Can you use both?

      • Fallaya

Only if you are buying two Revlon cosmetic items.

      • Anonymous

Yes, you shoud be able to , because they are two different products and respective Qs can be applied. Also confirm that their upc code does not end in 14; then you are sure good to go.

    • Famgill

I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use the 25% off coupon this week for the paper deal?  If so, it’s SO worth it to me.  Thanks.

      • January42003

From other comments I’ve seen in the past, if it says 25% off ( not on sale items), then you wouldn’t be able to use it. But, again, I may be wrong! :) Good luck.

      • Lonestar9

Nope, feel free to try it, but it does not register with any sale items.

      • Anonymous

It probably says “not on sale items.” And if you still tried to use it, it would take off 25% only on non-sale items. This Q seems to pick sale/non-sale items easily.

    • Zee

There is a new CVS Inventing Beauty mag, it has a $1/1 SOFTSOAP coupon in it (can be combined with manu q’s)

      • Mrspie0905

Where do I find this magazine?

        • Zee

in CVS near the cash register, or near the weekly ads. If you go to a better CVS you may see it. It’s white and has Kathryn Heigl on the cover and is .99 cents

    • Fallaya

Does the Schick Hydro razor count as a health care item?  I got a $3/$15 health care coupon from the magic red machine.  Thank you.

      • jennaj81

My store would take it. Just depends on how nice yours is.

      • Anonymous

No, such razors are not healthcare items; they might be perhaps categorized as “beauty care.”

    • Lay May

CVS was a head ache again this week. I think the stores need to educate the clerks on the sales and coupons.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the clearance items seem to not be any better than the sale costs? Today my CVS had Kleenex on Clearance for 1.49 (it appeared to be the same size if not smaller than the one included in the gas deal at 1.50) and Gain (small bottle) on clearance for .99
but I’ve noticed this at other stores (Like Target having “Clearance” items at only 15% off).

      • Anonymous

From my experience, if stores are close-minded and they do not listen to you, then the only way they could be corrected is to file a formal report with customer svce giving the name/interactions with the employee/managers. If they do the same thing again, then you would call csr again and give reference to previous calls and see what happens.  I have seen dramatic improvements this way.

      • Phatpatswife

CVS’s on shelf clearance merchandise goes down by increments of 25% at a time. So it’s 25% to start then after a couple weeks (sometimes only 1 week) down to 50% and then 75%.

Target’s clearance sucks. I don’t know how theirs works cause i’m not an employee but I rarely find anything there (except frames) that are worth buying, even with a coupon matchup.

        • Anonymous

That would be ideal to do but it depends on items and the managers and how quickly they need to get rid of them. Sometimes, items have been put on sale down to 90% directly which is rare now.

    • mcgruff

CVS was a pain this week, after getting $46 and using my ECB of $13 my BOGO of medadent came off showing me a credit $5.46 I asked the clerk to void out a $5 ECB and he said he could not…just bought another $5 in Gatorade and a Snicker.

      • Anonymous

If you mean negative balance by 5.46 and you wanted to take your $5 ecb back, then yes, he just had to rescan after a certain key to cancel out the $5 ecb. There is of course, a way to void  a Q/ecb from transaction. He just did not bother-I would be more upfront and insist that transaction be corrected.

    • Crtrout

Does anyone know if CVS will accept a manf coup w/ a kroger logo on it? I am interested in the M’boro, TN locations

      • Palazesi

Yes, they will.  it does say Manufac coupon, so I have not had any trouble using those anywhere.

    • Tmfloves

what is considered health care products?

    • Tracy

i have a question.  The red box printed me two q’s yesterday, one for 1.00 off jumbo pamper diapers and one that says save 4.00 when you buy both diapers and wipes.  So my question is this………………if I buy diapers and wipes can I use both q’s, the 1.00 off for the diapers and the other to apply for diapers and wipes?  Plus one just says cvs at the top and the other says extracare/coupon.

      • Anonymous

No. Both are CVS store coupons. You would not be able to stack them.

        • Paulareed1967

My CVS store let me do that. I had the $4 off diapers and wipes then it printed a $3 off on the Huggies pull ons and I had a $3 off c for the pull ons. My total for the diapers and the wipes was $2.20.

      • ab

I think that you can. I would definitely try it. I also think you can stack any man coupons you have with them to get a really good deal. I do this all the time with the $3 off 15.

      • Anonymous

I believe you can. One specifically for brand name is basically a type of manuf Q. because CVs is promoting that brand and in return, probably getting reimbursed for that value. The $4 one sounds like is a general promotion for any brand diapers and wipes which CVS is promoting sale in its stores. Also can you note which one says CVs and which one says ecb on it?
        Thanks

    • $5 ECB WYB Revlon Lip item at $6.99, would make it $1.99 not $.99  My bad I forgot about the coupon, I wish there was a way to delete your own comments… :)

      • Anonymous

with the $1.00 off q it makes it .99

I have a 2/1 for charmain sensitive (from a P/G booklet inside TP from target a few months ago).  Has anyone seen this on sale??  Is it part of the deal this week?

      • Katie

I think that was a target coupon….. I know my CVS won’t take it.

In the Houston Chronicle today, the Kroger flyer has $4.00 coupons on the back for the Hydro razor and blades.  This makes the Hydro deal a money maker.

Just wondering if anyone else was missing the Clear Care Value Pack Mfr Coupon $3/1 in the Simple Saver today 8/21? I am in the Nashville area. I can’t seem to find any printables either.

Will this work for the Tampax Pearls that are on sale?Buy 2 boxes with B1G1 Free coupon pay $7.99-2ECB=5.99 PLUS use (2) $1 off tampax pearl coupons for a total of $3.99 OOP?

      • Sheila

You can’t use a B1G1 and 2 $1 coupons for just 2 boxes.  You are using 3 coupons for 2 items.  At best, you can use the B1G1 and 1 of the $1/1 coupons.  That being said, CVS is changing their coupon acceptance to not allow a $/1 coupon to be stacked with a B1G1, so YMMV depending on your cashier.

        • Anonymous

i think if you give the $ off q first and then the b1g1 it will go through without the cashier having to push it through

      • Anonymous

if the b1g1 q is a man q then you can only use 1 $1.00 off q, because the other box is covered by the b1g1q, i think

    • kristin

Hellmann’s (Best Foods for west coasters) is $5.29  B1G1F, use (2) $1.00 coupons from BiLo, and you only pay 3.29 making it only $1.65 each!!

      • Anonymous

We don’t use alot of mayo. I was shocked last week when I bought a big jar and it was 5.99 at Bi-Lo. I will be getting a few of these to stock up. Thanks for the info!

just thought i would share becasue i am excited, on friday i finally was able to get the huggies slip ons a total of 4packs (from 4 diffrent stores, so i ended up getting ecb for the green tag) i also found some of the huggies sensitive that are still ringing up clearace but not marked and used 1.50 q on those which made them about 1.30 a pack, and today i got my free huggies q and i have 4 towards my next huggies pack.  I think i am going to go back and get some newborn sensitive diapers for 1.30 a pack and get another free pack of huggies.  Even though my son is in a size 3 they will make great baby shower gifts :)

      • Tugi

What size does the huggies sensitive come in

        • Anonymous

i have only seen them in newborn and 1

      • Mandyward67

i bought 4 slip on diapers and they didnt show as adding up towards my huggies total on my reciept. i’m not sure why!

        • Anonymous

it took mine a couple of days before they showed up, i got them on friday and they didn’t show up until today

        • Anonymous

they take about 2 days to show up

        • Anonymous

Mine is doing the same thing and it has been about a week.  I finished my totals Sat. and it is still showing that I have only purchased 1.

    • I was pleasantly surprised at my final total at CVS yesterday. I scanned my store card and got a coupon for a free Hershey’s caramel  candy bar and a free box of CVS band-  aids. The store didn’t have either left so I could get something similar by Hershey’s and CVS Band-aids that were equal to their value. During my check out I got a Hershey’s Mr. Goodbar and antibiotic CVS  band-aids. I also got  a bottle of CVS bodywash that I had a free coupon for that was downloaded off of their website. I didn’t want to get all free stuff so I found a box containing two softlips lip balm that was on clearance for  75% off for only $1.09. After everything was scanned and the coupons amount taken off, my balance was in the negative. I quickly spotted some hand sanitizer at the checkout for $1.50. That then made my total only 50¢. What??? I just smiled, paid the clerk, and  kept on going. That was a deal!

      • Mandyward67

I know…I printed a coupon for free panty liners and when i used that coupon, it took off more money than they actually cost!

      • Sarah

The free bodywash coupons were taking $3 off instend of the $2.27 or whatever the price of the bodywash is so you got a little extra there.

        • Zee

I forgot my dern bodywash!! LOL, I hate when I do that

      • Anonymous

CVS coupons that give you “free” items have maximum value written on them. So, in case if the item is actually less price, the coupon still takes off full maximum value; thus, giving you overage.  So for next trip, always note the maximum amount noted on the coupon and use filler, if need be, to absorb the overage.

        • Anonymous

I was wondering about this because I used my free CVS bandage coupon valued at $4.49 and the store manager de-valued the coupon to $2.29 for the lower valued CVS bandages.  I thought there would be an over-age but he said that I lost out on the added value. Ugh.  I had a filler item as well to benefit from the overage but he instructed the cashier to lower the value.

          • Anonymous

The manager is what I call a vigilante employee. They normally should be scanning the coupon and let the register take care of it. If register allows it and goes for overage then there is nothing  can be done about it. The only way they need adjusting the price if the Q beeped and would prompt for applicable price (like those of manuf bogo Qs). Apparently, they did not scan the Q first but downright adjusted the price proactively withpout following proper procedure; hence, it is called vigilanteism.

Yeah that worked for the first two days, but now it enters the “coupon value” to the exact amount.

          • Anonymous

Are you saying the coupon beeps when scanned normally? Does it prompt for price entry?

    • I realized that  the items I chose to purchase were less than the ones I would have received free so I was credited the amount that wasn’t used for the purchase of these items. Am I making any sense? I did make cents for me!  LOL!

no sorry! you will need details for us to grasp how the transaction went on register objectively

if i buy 2 infusium 23 bottles of shampoo (B1G1), can I use 2 mq for $1 off?

    • Michelle

I just bought two $4.99 maybelline mascaras and a $2 ECB did not print even though I paid $9.98 and the ad states “spend $7 get $2 extra bucks when you buy any maybelline mascara”.  Two cashiers and the manager stated that the ad actually means you don’t get $2 ECB on your receipt but that the $2 ECB goes towards the “$5 extrabucks with every $50 beauty purchase”. I received all the other ECB for Revlon and LOreal products so why doesn’t maybelline work for their own promotion?  Does anyone know why this might be?  Thanks!!!!

      • Anonymous

I think it states above “$2 ecb when you buy a mascara at $7” meaning one mascara price has to be $7 before you could get $2 ecb; and not just total $7 spending.

The cashiers and managers simply made up nutty things which make no sense at all.  Individual ecbs are from manufactureres promotions that have nothing to do with ongoing forever “building” purchases towards some ecbs which are simply from CVS own marketing.

    • Does anyone know how long the “buy six packs of diapers, get one free” deal is going on?  I only have 1 pack left to buy before I get my free pack and I don’t want the deal to expire.  I asked the clerk in CVS today, and he had no idea what I was talking about.

They are linked to your card so no one else can use them

      • I have used my mom’s ECBs before without a problem.

Hi all!  Does CVS accept Rite Aid or Walgreens coupons?  Or vice-versa any combination?  Does Walmart accept all coupons from other stores?  Thanks!

      • Anonymous

No, CVS does not accept competitor coupons, but there are a few stores that make exceptions so, you should check at your local CVS’. Walmart only accepts competitor coupons that specify a price (Walgreen has these in their circular). It’s really just price matching. Go to the other tab up above and click on Walmart  and SS has a link to their policy.

    • So this is what im planning on getting. . .
      Trans # 1
Maybelline Mascara (that will be the last item for my beauty items so i will get $10 ECB PLUS the $2 for buying Maybelline!)
CVS Brand Hand Sanitizer (this will get me my $5 ECB for buying $30 in CVS brand items!) = about $15 – $6 ECB from last week and get $17 ECB!

      Trans # 2
      1 – Charmin 16 double rolls
      1 – Bounty 12 rolls
      4 – Puff’s
      = $27.80 – $17 ECB = 10.80 – 25 % off coupon = 3.85 plus i get $10 ECB for spending $25 on Charmin, Bounty and Puffs!!!

      • Anonymous

FYI…The 25% off coupon is not valid on sale items.  In your Transaction #2, all of the items are at sale prices, so nothing will come off.

Also, in Transaction #1, you get $5 ECBs with every $50 beauty purchase.  I don’t know what you purchased or when, but if you have bought $90+ in your last transaction (within 2 days ago), then one of the $5 will print at the red kiosk when you scan your card for coupons.  The 2nd $5 will print after another couple of days (It takes about 48 hours for the beauty rewards to add to your account).

If it’s been more than a few days since you bought the first $50 beauty purchase, then you may have already received the $5 ECBs for that.  The total at the bottom of your receipt is a running total of all of your qualifying beauty purchases from the beginning of your enrollment to date.  It does not start over every time you shop or even every week.

Oh and one more thing, last week’s 25% coupon expired on Sunday, I’m assuming you are using a printed one and your store accepts expired coupons.  However, in the future, if you are using the “send to card” feature, the 25% off promo is applied to your first transaction after sending it to your card.

I don’t mean to be negative, but I don’t want you to be bummed or confused when your scenarios don’t work the way that you are planning.  I hope that this helps you and is not too confusing.

Ok – I posted something yesterday and now the post isn’t there – what happened? There wasn’t anything bad in it so it shouldn’t have been flagged or anything like that ——AGH!!!

Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up – I went to cash in my raincheck for the Huggies diapers from last week because I called my local store and they finally had them in—–
I bought (4) packs of Huggies Slip ons – Total before coupons or anyhthing was $38.00 and I only payed $4.20 plus I was due a $10 gas card for speending $30.00 —well, the cashier forgot to put the code on the raincheck and I almost didn’t get the gas card because it is a different code each week and they don’t keep the codes from each week??? So, just be sure if you get a special deal like that, everything is written on the raincheck as needed!!!!!

      • Anonymous

One way to make sure that never happens is to staple or clip the circular to the raincheck You shoudlnt have to but everyone makes mistakes!! Happy couponing!!

        • Anonymous

Well, the other store actually had the old ad but there apparently is a code that they have to enter in order to get credit for the gas card – they had to use this week’s code so the store I went to won’t get credit for the gas card, which makes me feel bad but she said she wasn’t going to make it go to the other store…..

      • The store is supposed to keep a copy of all the old ads (not sure for how long), that is what a CVS manager told me.  That being said I still keep a copy of any ad I have a raincheck for just in case :)

    • Anonymous

Ok – so, I had $28.45 in my beauty club on Friday – I went in yesterday to get three Revlon lipsticks at $6.99/lipstick which would give me over $50 in my beauty club – but, when I look on the receipt, it shows only $39.54 – I thought the $50 was BEFORE coupons – not after – which if it’s after coupons, then $11 would be right but I really thought it was BEFORE – am I wrong? HELP!!!!

      • Anonymous

You must have bought something on Friday that also qualified for the beauty rewards for the 11.09 difference.  It takes about 48 hours for the beauty balance to update, so yoiur $6.99*3 should show up after a couple of days.

        • Anonymous

Ok! Thanks for the advice – the only thing I bought were the three lipsticks and then I did the Charmin/Bounty/Puffs deal!!! Oh well! We shall see!!!!

          Thanks!!!!

          • Anonymous

If I buy 3 revlon lipsticks will I receive $15 ecb or just $5ecb? or should I purchase them separately to get $15ecb? thanks.

            • You will get $15 ECB. If you buy them separately you will get (3) separate $5 ECBs. If you buy them together, you will get (1) $15 ECB. That’s the only difference. I bought two yesterday and got a $10 ECB back. :-)

          • What did you buy on Friday? What she’s saying is that whatever you bought on Monday would not even show up in your account yet. The increase (from $28.45 to $39.54) had to have been from a previous qualifying purchase, which means that your Revlon deal purchases will still put your total over $50 to get the Beauty Club Reward.

        • Anonymous

Ok! Thanks for the advice – the only thing I bought were the three lipsticks and then I did the Charmin/Bounty/Puffs deal!!! Oh well! We shall see!!!!

$1 off any Revlon color cosmetic product also appears in SS 7/17.  I didn’t see it in the SS 8/14 for Atlanta paper

    • Carey Miller

Question – when doing the gas deal, how would the Planters mixed nuts count toward the $30 spent?  They’re BOGO – does it count all of them before discount, or would it only count the ones you’re paying for?  Thanks!

      • Anonymous

Only the ones you’re paying for, the others ring up as $0.00.

    • This was my very first attempt at couponing:) I wasn’t able to get either of the Bounty/Charmin eCoupons, they were not in the database. But I registered my CVS card online which gave me a $4/$20 coupon so I used that. They were out of the 12 pack of paper towels so I got two of the 8 packs, one 16 pack of Charmin and 1 pack of Puffs. My extrabucks didn’t print out for some reason, but they were able to print one for me after the transaction. Whoo hoo! A few snags, but success! Looking forward to my next CVS trip.

      • Anonymous

You actually answered your own concern. The reason your ecb did not print is because the participating item was Bounty 12 pack roll and not 8-pack ones. So, it is not only just to buy $ amount of that brand name and type but also the specific count/size that matters.

        • Wow! I was very lucky that the cashier gave me the ECB then. There was only one 12-pack left and it was opened.

    • Martha Thomas

I got a Buy One, Get One Free of Skittles/Lifesavers (up to $4.29) from the Magic Coupon machine.  Does anyone have any experience using this as a competitor coupon at Walmart?  Walmart’s policy says they’ll accept competitors’ B1G1 coupons when a specific price is on the coupon.

    • Can someone clarify this for me: When I log on to my CVS account, I have a balance of $13.06 in my ExtraCare rewards. Is that 2% of what I’ve spent, or will I get back 2% of the $13.06? Also, how are these rewards issued?

      • Anonymous

That is what you have spent I believe. It should say something next to the amount like Summer Spending or something like that – if it does, then you will get 2% of $13.06! HTH!!!!

All we get here out of the 2 newspapers I get are SS in both and occasionally a RP if I’m lucky. I’d give my left thumb for a P & G but I don’t know where to get them. I even have the newspaper man loading me up but like I said this is all I get. I would be willing to trade if anyone has the Revlon coupon or Pampers diapers or Huggies wipes PLEASE and thank you.

the extra care deals are misleading..example 6 ECB’s don’t really make a $18 purchase equal $12. You still have to pay the $18, and remember to use your ECB’s. Usually you end up spending more to get the ECB’s than you would just buying the products on sale.

      • YLE

I haven’t found that to be true. I don’t buy products just to get the ECB’s. And normally it balances out. I spent $14 today of things I needed: Tampons, Razors, and vitamins…I got 14 ECB back and i can use that to buy my bleach and other cleaning products…For me it ends up balancing out!

      • rclay18

I only buy things with ECBs that are on sale that we need or the price is low enough that I can stock up. Sometimes just because an item has ECBs does not mean that it is a good price, so I don’t buy it! Most of the time the ECB deals are only good if they are full price ECBs, have good coupons, or the sale price before ECBs is good. I then either roll my ECBs onto another deal or save them to buy things on a future trip that we need that are also a good sale price. I never forget to use my ECBs and I store them in a way that I won’t lose them. They are like money to me! I’ve been couponing and shopping CVS for year and a half and I have saved soooo much money.

      • I think what you’re missing here is the concept of “rolling” ECBs. Yes, at first you are spending money to get those ECBs. But if you plan your shopping trips smartly, you can roll the same ECBs for quite a long time, essentially paying NOTHING for your items after a while. I don’t count ECBs into the cost of my purchases anymore because I have been rolling them forever. I also don’t count them as part of my savings. If I have $5 in ECBs from last week (that have been “rolled” for weeks and weeks) and I use them and a $2-coupon to pay for a $7 item that gives me $5 in ECBs, then whatever I have to pay in tax (about 70¢ in this case) is what I consider my final cost. The ECBs I get back are just a bonus.

You have to look at your personal situation and decide what the best deal would be for you. Yes, CVS’s prices are much higher than other places– sometimes even when the items are on sale (and especially when they are offering ECBs), but if you are using ECBs and coupons to pay those prices, then you’re still getting a WAY better deal than if you had bought the item on sale elsewhere. I currently have $18 in ECBs to spend on whatever I want at CVS. I will likely use them on items that get me more ECBs… But the point is that whatever I use them on will essential be FREE. I’m not going to find that deal elsewhere.

Can I use ECBs to buy the diapers that are advertized this week?  I plan to get the bounty, charmin and puffs…earn 10 ECBs and then use a coupon to buy the diapers and use my ECBs. Will this work????

It looks like infamous Zhu Zhu Pets are coming back next week 5 for $10 (75% Off). Someone here had mentioned it was clearance and wont be coming back (or told by employees)

Did anyone else receive ECB at the redbox?  I receive a 12 ECB today when I scanned my card but it did not specify as to why I would’ve gotten this.  I know that it is not for quarterly spending because it’s not time and I never would spend enough to get 12 ECB.  I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else.

I received an email 20% off total purchase.  My question is if I want to get the $10 ECB WYB $25 Charmin, Bounty, Pufs deal when would the 20% come off.  If I bought 3 charmin @ 9.99 would it be (29.97) or would it be 23.98 (20% off)?  Does anybody know the answer to this?  Thanks

      • As long as those items are NOT ON SALE, the 20% will apply to it as you stated.  I am not familiar enough with the pricing on those items to know just by the list above, I did not get a CVS flier this week as I was away and did not get my local paper.

The trick will be when checking out, use the 20% coupon FIRST, then any manuf Q, then any ECB you have.

edited to add, it looks as though those items are in fact on “sale” so the 20% will not be allowed on those items. I would double check at store level to verify, but you should see on the 20% coupon that it will exclude sale items.

I am actually going to use mine on the Hydro 3 refills and pair with a 4.00 coupon, Bounce Bars and pair with 2.50 and 1.50 coupons, New York Mascara, pair with CVS and Manuf Q, and possibly the HP ink. I always make a list, check at the store and hope for the most savings. I am flexible in my plan as I don’t “need” anything but will be for my stockpile.

I had the exact same question. Sandy, I’m trying to figure things out and am a little confused by, “it looks as though those items are in fact NOT on “sale” so the 20% will not be allowed on those items.” Did you mean to say that the items are not on sale so the 20% could be used OR that the items are on sale, so the 20% can’t be used. Trying to check my local ad online, but it’s taking forever to load.

          • Sorry for the confusion, right the items are on sale, sometimes it is easier to say it then type it.  :)  I think you will not be able to apply the additional 20% to these items, bummer for sure!

      • I tried this last night and the 20% did not apply to the Charmin or Puffs. It applied to the L’oreal I purchased which was not on sale. HTH.

I am new to the couponing thing but had a little problem when buying 30 ct Zyrtec tonight.

It was priced at 18.99.  I had a 4 off M.  There was an 2 dollar off instant save sticker on the bottle of Zyrtec and then a 2 dollar off tear pad located near the display.  All in all, I had 3 Qs equalling $8 off.  And then I would get 4 ECB.  BUT the cashier only let me use two Qs; she said even though all the Qs were different, the computer alerted her that I had reached my allowed limited for that item.  I asked her how I can know in the future how many Qs I could use- she said she didn’t know, the computer just tells her what to do.

Is this normal?  How do I know how many Qs I can use per item?

      • Usually you can only use 1 Manuf Q per product, it is actually surprising you were able to use 2 of them.  You should be able to use a manuf and a store coupon and “stack” them on the same product, perhaps the computer one of them as a store coupon.  You cannot add a bunch of coupons together to purchase one item, this is a pretty common with all coupons and all stores usage of them.  “Stacking” (a store and manuf Q together) is very commonly allowed.

why do people split transactions? I always do one transaction and get my ECB’s on the receipt, $2, $1, 5. All 3 at once.

If you do one transaction at a time then you can use the ECB you get on the next deal and then get back more ECB back.  Less out of pocket each trip and then you don’t have to remember to use them later on.

          ooooooooohhhh got it, ty

    • I went to one of my local CVS’s today and found an awesome surprise…all of their Pampers were around 50% off, $5.50 for the jumbo packs and $12.50 for the boxes!!!  This wasn’t advertised in their ad so I asked the cashier about it.  He said that their store has an “old-school” manager who likes to make up manager’s specials every now and then.  I thought this was great!  Has anyone else had this happen to them?

So, if the L’Oreal shampoo isn’t on sale, but is included in the ECB deal, will my 20 percent coupon work on it?

      Cover Girl only transaction:

My transaction: Bought 6 Cover Girl Products, B1G1 50%, saved $10.95 total.  Then used $5 off $30 purchase from CVS email and (3)$2.50/2 CG products from PG 8/28.  Total before sale price and coupons: $46.52 incl tax, after CVS sale price $34.87 incl tax, after coupons OOP $21.58 incl tax.  The kicker?  Spent over $30 so I received $10 ECB, redeemable for $10 gas card.
