Food Lion Weekly Ad 7/8

Here are the deals that start today 7/8 at Food Lion.  There are a good number of B1G1 deals this week, however the deal list is pretty short.  Be cautious though with Food Lion Meat B1G1 deals.  They are not deals at all!  They significantly mark them up before offering them to you at half price (don’t worry I have not included them on the list).

Remember:
1. Check with your local store about B1G1 items. Ask “Are you required to buy 2, or will they each ring up at half price?”
2. Most Food Lion stores do not double coupons.
3. If you do a B1G1 deal, use 2 coupons if they will let you.

Hormel entrees are $3.99 and on the hormel site you can get a coupon for $2 off.

    • JEB

      Cokes are .89

I don’t usually shop at FL but I stopped in to get the Starkist Tuna pouches which are B1G1. The price on the shelf did not list that they were on sale. Does FL usually do that? I didn’t get any because I didn’t have the sale flyer to use as evidence. Same thing with the bread. So I left with nothing and am disinclined to go back. If someone could share their knowledge. Thanks.

    • laronda

No, the stores near me put the sale sign by the products.

    • laronda

Thanks for this posting! I love this site!

    • Julieann

There are fliers right at the front of the store so you don’t have to bring your own (or near customer service). I have found that the first day of a sale, some stores don’t have all their tags up yet, but the registers are programmed already for the sales.

    • Denise

      Thanks Laronda and Julieann.

    • Teia

      Were you shopping this morning?

Wednesday morning is when they put up the mvp tags and they just might not have been up yet.

    • CJ

Hey everyone! At my store in eastern GA, Coke 2-liters are $1.09. Is this an area thing that would make the prices different?

    • kelli

I went to Food Lion today and did 2 transactions so that I could use 2 of the $1 off healthy accents and $1 off home 360 coupons.

      first I bought:
      1 Hormel refridgerated meal $3.99
      (used $2 off coupon)
1 bottle of rubbing alcohol $.99
      (used $1 off healthy accents)
1 package of rubber bands $.49
      (used $1 off home 360)
      Total: $1.59

      second:
      1 Hormel refridgerated meal $3.99
      (used $2 off coupon)
1 bottle of hydrogen peroxide $.99
      (used $1 off healthy accents)
1 package of rubber bands $.49
      (used $1 off home 360)
      Total: $1.59

Also, most of the Chinet plates are on sale BOGO. I think that they were all around $3 so if you’ve got the coupons from June 28, you could get them for about $.50 each.

    • Misty

food lion wouldn’t honor home 360 coupon on peroxide ($.99) or home accent on stick glue ($.79). They said because the item didn’t equal amount of coupon. Anyone else had this come up?

    • Cindy

When you clink on the link for Field and Stream it says the offer has expired. ??

    • Angel R.

Where is the $2 coupon on the Hormel site? I can’t seem to find any coupons there.

    • If you purchase 6 of the Tuna at B1G1Free you will get a $2 off Cat…the Rock Hill store didn’t have the peelies.

    • Donna

I’m new to the Food Lion stores. What are the Home 360 Deals and the Healthy Accents? Oh, and by the way, Jenny you’re awesome! I could never do this without you!

    • Pat in Richmond

My Food Lion were sold out/didn’t have the kids scissors, which I really wanted for my grandson. Plus, the erasers and pencil sharpener were $.59 each….still worth it, with the $1 off coupon.

    • Melissa

My Food Lion (Hendersonville, NC) wouldn’t take the Home 360 or Health Accent coupons either if the item was under $1.

    • Julieann

My FL’s took the private brand q’s on items less than $1 just fine until today. The register beeped and the cashier pushed it thru, but I think the registers are now being updated to not allow things less than $1. You can still use them on items (or a combination of items) $1 or more.

      No more freebies :o(

Chinette plates are also BOGO this week (3.08) and there are several $1 q’s out….buy 2, use 2, get both for about .50/ea. Limit 2 free.

    • Erin

what if your total purchase of home 360 or healthy accents totals more that $1? would they apply the coupon towards a purchase of two items at .89 each?

    • melody

I have found that our FL is a bit slow to get their signage out for their specials. It WILL ring up a the sale price but a lot of times it’s Thursday or Friday before they get the signs out.

    • Julieann

Erin…I plan on testing out that theory tomorrow morning!

    • Jessica

The $1 off home & health products say limit 1 per day. Becareful. Just buy something that you have a manufacture’s coupon to put with it. I got 2 boxes of Band Aids for .5o b/c my store was discontinuing that item. I love the atmosphere at my Spring Hope FL. I really love these new coupons so follow the rules & hopefully we’ll enjoy many more similar good deals in the future:) Don’t forget the $1 off any Guiding star item. LOVE deals on fresh fruits & veggies.

    • crystal

I have noticed with manu. coupons I am having the problem with the under value thing, like the product is 99 cents and the q is for 1.00 off, but I have not had a problem with the Food Lion Q’s doing it…yet I won’t hold my breath, I am going to FL tonight, and watch, I will have a prob tonight! lol

    • OK so I went to the FOOD LION over by the Hospital in Rock Hill…they have a set up for the Star Kist with $1.50 off 3 pouch tuna…so do this buy 3 @ 1.49 + 1.49 + 1.49 = $4.47 minus the Guiding Stars Coupon = $3.37 minus the $1.50 coupon(display)= $1.97 minus your MVP card savings $1.49 (b1g1)= about 2 cents!!!! So that is the right way to use just 1 GUIDING stars coupon and still get a GOOD DEAL!!!! My regular FL didn’t have a display and I will be asking why on tomorrow when I go by if not this evening!!!! I will be posting this at my BLOG http://leavethejonesesalone.blogspot.com/

    • Julieann

I just confirmed that if you buy more than one private brand items that are under $1 (for the Home360/Healthy Accent q’s) that brings your total to $1 or more, the FLIP will NOT beep. I purchased a hole punch and a pack of tape and used the $1 Home360 FLIP and it went through this time.

Wish I could find some of those peelies on the Starkist…I have people shopping in my stores that like to take the peelies off of products they aren’t buying….effectively stealing it from people who are buying it.

    • Erin

Julieann – Thanks for reporting back on the $1/FLIP issue!

    • Donna

This is my 2nd request. I’m new to the Food Lion stores and don’t know anything about the Home 360 Deals and the Healthy Accents? Could someone please help explain what they are and where/how to get them?

    • Teia

They are on the food lion coupons tab at the top.

    • Jenn

Donna, I believe that they are store brands. The coupons are under Food Lion at the top bar, under the Southern Savers Logo. HTH.

    • Stacie

I had a question about one of the Purex coupons…….

      -$1/2 Purex Detergent SS 6/14

I was wondering if the date of the SS was correct? I have about 10 of them and for some reason that particular coupon isn’t in it! I’m bummed! I realize I can print the other one out for .50/1, but I can only print two of them and if I had two of the $1/2 then I would have used both of them on 4 bottles and gotten 4 bottles for $3, but being as that I will only have 2 .50/1, I will get 4 bottles for $4, every dollar saved helps!

I love this website and I’m so very grateful for all of your hard work, I’ve turned so many to your website and they love it just as much as myself! Thank you!

    • Cheri

Just wanted to share 2 things:

      1) I went to Food Lion tonight in Ladson, SC and it wouldn’t let me get the Home 360 product under $1, but did let me get 2 items and take the dollar off.

      2) The naval oranges are not $.69/LB, they are $.69 each.

    • Amy M

The M5 Magnum razors and refill cartridges are on sale for $2.99. There is a printable $2 coupon for the razor. When you open the razor there is a $3 coupon inside for the refill cartridges. You get razor and refill for 99 cent!!

    • Jennifer C.

      Travise,

Finally! After looking through 3 different Food Lions I found the Starkist tuna coupons! The save $1.00 onyo printed at the end so basically I made 50¢ by buying 6 packs of tuna. Thanks for the tip!

    • Elizabeth

Blueberries were $1.50/pint but with the Guiding Star coupon – .50cents!

    • Tina

What is a Guiding Star coupon? Is it a magazine?
      Thanks.

    • MaddiesMom

      <>

I have a question about this coupon. This week the sides (both sizes) are on sale, BOGO. Could I get the chicken, 4 sides and the bread and still use the coupon? Or do I just take the discount and buy the 2 at half price each/

      Thanks for your help!
      Beth

    • MaddiesMom

      whoops…forgot the coupon!

$3 off Chicken Dinner Meal (buy 1 chicken and 2 sides, bread is not required for coupon to work) FLIP

      • Jenny

You would still only need to buy 2 sides just take the discount further!

    • MaddiesMom

I agree. We usually need more than the two sides though. 16yo boy eats us out of house and home…..

    • Hi Tina – It is a coupon link – go to the first Food lion site Jenny has marked 7/8-721 and after clicking on it – you will see the link for a guiding star coupon. There is a game you can play to get the coupon or just print one. I have used this for produce – others I think have used it for food also. Each food/produce item is given a certain number of stars to indicate it’s nutritional value – just look for the stars by the food item at the store. If it has stars – the coupon will work for it – but this one expires tomorrow i Today I got a pound of plums for free!

    • Tina

      Thanks Elizabeth!
