Friday Finals: Snow!

After traveling and not shopping last week, I had big plans this week!  The plan was to hit stores Friday early evening to get deals just in time to share with you guys.  We got in Friday about 30 minutes before the snow started and I realized that my plans weren’t going to happen.  Instead I ran out for milk and hurried home to play.   Growing up in the panhandle of Florida I can count on one hand the times I got to play in the snow so I was just as excited as my kids!  We ended up getting about 7 inches at our house.  I think I can safely say it’s the most snow I’ve ever seen!!

As things warm up today, I do plan to hit the stores this afternoon during nap time so I might update this with those deals.

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or link to your post.

beautiful. after growing up in northern ohio we've seen our share of snow. now living in the panhandle of florida-i see what you were faced with in your childhood :0)

    • vanessacook

Jenny- the front of your house at night with the snow all over it untouched looks like a picture for a postcard. It is absolutely beautiful. My son really enjoyed all the snow with his daddy too. Since we just found out we are expecting I am not aloud outside because I might “catch a cold” according to my sweet husband. (He is a little over protective since we lost our little girl at 38 weeks.) We got about 9 inches in Cayce, SC.

Living here in FL what a joy to see how gorgeous this looks! And your house is gorgeous!
What state do you live in?

      • We live in South Carolina.

      • Nickie

Yep, it was beautiful here in N GA. I am guessing that we rec'd four inches of snow based on how deep my foot went into the snow. The most I've ever had the chance to experience! :) I was born and lived the majority of my life in S Florida and it is definitely MUCH more fun to be snowed in than 'trapped' in your home by a hurricane. :) We had so much fun yesterday and today sledding building a bunch of snowmen and snowgirls and of course snowball fights. I hate the cold but LOVE the snow. :)

        • Aymie520

I agree, Id much rather be trapped in by snow than a hurricane anyday!! Do you know how far south in GA the snow went? Does it ever snow in Savannah?

          • nikiben

There was much more snow south of us and it snowed in N Florida, too, no accumulation, though–I don't know if it snows in Savannah but it did in Mobile AL so I am sure if the conditions were right it could snow there as well. :)

          • Carol

My in-laws live in Vidalia which is about an hour north of Savannah and they got about 2& 1/2 inches, we are north of Atlanta and ended up with around 3 to 4 inches it was great b/c it came and went

    • We had some wonderful snow here as well. Still can’t wait for spring though.
I had a great savings week, and my animals will love me for it this time. :)

OOOO – great Christmas card opportunities!!

    • WynetteC

Look at that leafy snowman, now that's what I call pure children created and that kind of beauty is priceless. BUT I know they had help from the mom and dad snow fairies from looking at the size of the snowman and seeing its larger than either of them. Too cute!
Thanks for sharing Jenny, now go enjoy your family! :)

    • Joy

We're in the Panhandle of FL and we got snow yesterday too! Lasted about an hour. Didn't really stick, just little patches, but oh what fun!

      • WynetteC

They were saying on the Weather Channel yesterday that Mobile had not seen snow in twelve years. I can imagine the excitement on the faces of all those wide-eyed children!

    • Lana

We have nearly twin houses. Our garage is on the other side and opens on the end but I could have easily mistaken your house for mine!

    • I can't believe the amount of snow we got Jenny!!!! Over 6 inches near us!!!

    • aolss

6 boxes assorted cheerios, 3 boxes wheat thins, and 2 candy bars at CVS for 9 cents!!! Had $10 ECB from last week which helped a lot but it was nice going out of a store with three bags of food and only spending 9 cents which ironically I had to get from my daughter's wallet because I had no cash and didn't want to use my debit card for that little. And yes I paid her back.

I took the last of the crackers so I got a rain check so I can go back and get two more boxes and get my $3 ECB.

        That's an awesome trip Kelli!!!

    • candipittman

I love pictures with the snow catching in the branches. It looked like that at our house here in South Atlanta too. It was amazing!

    • SoniaT

The pictures are great. We got snow here in middle GA, too. We rarely get snow and when we do it's very little and doesn't stick. We got about 4 inches yesterday. I went crazy taking pictures. One of the photo sites like Snapfish or SeeHere needs to have some free picture deals soon.

    • lisasmith1019

I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas and we had a record breaking amount of snow fall on Thursday!! The official report was like 12 inches of snow and it hasn't snowed that much in this area for over 32 years!! It was fun to play in and most has melted by today. Sure was pretty!

    • twylav

Love the Snow Pictures!! Thanks So much for sharing with us :)))

    • Courtney

We got about 2 inches this round but 2 weeks ago we got 4 inches. Your house is beautiful! The most snow I've ever seen was during my 8th grade year and we had over a foot of snow here in N. Ga. Glad you had fun!! We all need a little fun from time to time!

    • Brandie

beautiful pictures Jenny. It was like a Winter Wonderland here in North GA too! I loved it!

    • Heather

I heard that this was the first time in recorded history that there was snow in all 50 states at the same time – even on the mountains in Hawai'i.

      • Courtney

I heard that too! I thought it was pretty interesting.

    • maehingo
