Doing dishes is not my idea of a good time after a big holiday meal, so disposable plates always make an appearance in our house this time of year.  But after decorating everything and preparing a delicious meal, it feels like we should bring out our nice china for the guests.   Hefty sent us their new Waverly Collection to try out and I never thought I’d say this about disposable plates – but they are gorgeous! Actually, the hardest thing about using them was remembering that I had to throw it away afterward.

Waverly plates are sold exclusively at Walmart stores and there are a few great coupons out if you want to pick them up for your next gathering.

between 15 and 20 with most of them children (over the entire Christmas and New Years holiday), we try to use the disposable because who wants a broken dish!!! So anything to help with that would be great. Thanks

    • Alicat

My dad has 10 siblings and we live in Miami Florida so guess where they all come……to us. • Jessica P

We always celebrate Christmas at my grandmas house with about 40-50 cousins, aunts and uncles. We usually use paper plates, cups and utensils but they're plain and boring. It would be nice to have some pretty, decorated paperware.

I want to avoid doing 15 dinner plates, 15 dessert plates, and 15 glasses…oh yeah don't like that silverware either!!

    • Carole B

Having about 20 people over for a christmas party…hoping to avoid doing at least 40 plates and 25 cups!

    • momof4

I love Southern Savers. You have a lot of helpful information. But.. if these are sold exclusively at Walmart, how are you going to use a printed coupon. I have always been told Walmart doesn't take internet printed coupons.

    • Brittany

We love Waverly at our house! All of the kitchen linens are Waverly!! We always have my grandfather's family come over to our house for Christmas eve. There is usually about 25-30 of us enjoying quality time with each other. Thank you Southern Savers and Waverly!!

    • Mrs Embee

My grandparents' host Christmas Eve dinner since they have the largest house. All their children, grandchildren and their one and only grandchild (my baby girl!) will be in attendance this year. It's a lot of work for Grandma, and we always help her clean up. Sure would be nice to not have any dishes to worry about!

    • Felicia

Well, for one dinner we exect to have 18 guests and for dinner number two, we expect around 24 people, so all together, that's 42 people we expect to host over Christmas time. That sure is a lot of people and a LOT of dishes. :) I wouldn't mind getting out of washing all those. ;)

    • helen

      About 20-25:)

Expecting 16-20 for our immediate family gathering, but of course everyone uses about 3-4 cups even if you do write their name on it…UGH!!!

    • Adam

      30ish or so people

    • Ricksunny03

There will be only 4 adults and 3 kids, but my husband leaves on deployment next month, so the less time I have to do dishes, the more time I spend with him before he goes.

    • Jenn

I am expecting between 8 & 10 people. I am thinking 3 or 4 dishes each. Wowsa, I'd like to avoid some of those!

    • Burgeap

I am expecting around 30 at our home for the holidays and look forward to staying away from washing dishes…

    • Amy

Too bad they don't make disposable pots to toss…I plan on not washing 18 plates, cups, bowls, dessert plates this Christmas Eve and Day. I might actually get to enjoy more time with the family, too!

    • Julie

We will have atleast 30, maybe more. That is just family and we usually have “family friends” that show up too!! It would be nice to have decorative plates and cups rather than the boring plain ones. Although my grandfather insists he must use a real plate, so no matter what… I will be washing atleast one plate!!!

    • Jennifer W

There will be 12 of us at our next holiday gathering.

    • C_smith74

20-25 people would be nice not to have to do the dishes :)

    • Darla

We love hosting parties at our house. My husband lost his job over a year ago, but we still like to have people over…we just let people help by bringing food pot-luck style. We will kick off the first of our Christmas parties this year by hosting between 30-40 people from our Sunday School class my husband teaches, and the very next night we will have 15-25 from our church youth group. On Christmas day we will have 9 people for Christmas dinner. …And I haven't even counted New Year's yet! (Last year on Thanksgiving day we hosted 8 different families for lunch…we like collecting “family-less” people groups during the holidays. No one should have to spend them alone.)

    • Pedspech

There will be about a dozen of us for Christmas.

    • nd

We don't have extended family close so it will be nice to have a nice meal with just the three of us.

      I have a large extended family—about 30 of us!

    • Debbie

oh wow! for Christmas, all my 4 kids, 6 grands, parents, some steps, at least 30, the more the merrier! It would be great if Wayne would not try to help with the dishes!!! lol

My family typically has 30 – 40 people for dinner on Christmas. Love the plate designs–they match the colors in our home beautifully.

    • Amandajw

      12 adults, 5 kids, 4 cats, 2 dogs….and a partridge in a pear tree….

    • FreedomSpradley

We serve about a dozen of our family for Christmas dinner. Would love some snazzy Waverly plates!

    • Mujer143

We have a big family my Parents are Foster Parents and have also adopted 3 children 2 who are older now and married. Plus they were both married before and had children from a previous marriage so just those children makes 7 plus adopted and foster equals the GRAND total of 11! That doesnt count any grandchildren..so all in all we have close to 40 people and thats really immediate family. So we always have to use paper plates because who has that many dishes! :)

    • Mom4my3boys

instead of individual gifts, we do a carry-in lunch buffet for my husband's coworkers for Christmas…these are so pretty & festive, they would be a beautiful addition! Depending on how many drivers swing by in addition to office staff, I would love to avoid dishes cleanup for potentially around 50 folks :)

    • Michelle

We always have a Christmas eve family get together with about 25 people, hoping to avoid 25 dinner plates and 25 dessert plates!

    • Sherryf2

around fifteen to twenty, and that isn't including the six that live here !

    • Lork

32 people, mixture of adults and kids , appetizers to desert!

    • Jrodger04

The neat thing about this Christmas, is that it will be our first Christmas with just our little family. Usually we go home for Christmas, since we are in the military and don't live close to our family right now. However, with a toddler and a baby this year, we decided not to put them through the trip. We just bought our first family Christmas tree ever (even though my husband and I have been married 4 1/2 years) and our toddler had fun decorating with us. Even though there will only be four of us, not having to do dishes for a few days would be such a nice Christmas gift for this tired momma. However, in all honesty, if I won a gift card for paper products, I would probably give it to my best friend who is in labor with her second child and has an almost 15 month old…she would definately deserve it since she got me onto Southern Savers!!!

    • anna

I'd like to avoid doing the certain 20-30 dishes I am sure will end up in the sink!

    • TAFrank

      28+ for christmas dinner

    • 9 and counting…we're military and this year since we're not traveling we're opening up our home to anyone in my husband's department that isn't able to go home for the holidays. My mom is coming to town and so I'm putting her to work when she gets here so that we can take in any and all orphans…I can't imagine not having a Christmas dinner family-style and don't want anyone here to have to either. But I would LOVE to not have to do dishes after that!

    • Gina

    • Jennie

We have our Christmas gathering at my in-laws and will have 25-30.

    • Marie

well have 15 here, and that's if no out of town family surprises us last minute, which is usually what happens. Big family and they need plates for anti pasta, dinner, salad, dessert…lol, I do not like trying to keep up with the dishes..

    • Erin

We will have 14 or 15 at our next gathering, the majority being children. Paper plates would not only reduce the amount of work, but could save the life of holiday dishes. ;)

We had our first Thanksgiving Dinner with a small group of 15 people in our little bungalow. First house I have ever lived in without a dishwasher. It took most of the night with three women taking turns to get all the dishes done. I don't want that to ever happen again. For the Christmas/New Year Holiday we always throw a gathering at our house with friends from about 30-50 people. This time…the paper plates will be used!! I don't want anyone standing in front of my sink instead of enjoying everyones company :)

    • Kjeffs14

      we are expecting 6

    • Sara M.

I hope to have at least 15 girls at my next gathering! (We meet twice a month for a small group bible study.) We are always having to decide who brings plates, napkins, etc. Hopefully next time I can bring the Waverly!

It will be like at least 12 of us. I'm from Bolivia – South America and all my fly. it's still there, here I just have a cousin and his fly. but we really enjoy when they get to visit us because they are my only fly. here and it's a very special holiday I love Christmas.

I really DO NOT enjoy doing the dishes after words because my dishwasher it's broken and I can not afford to get a new at this pointing time, so I do everything by hand and It takes a lot fun time from my fly. and guests, and I'm not the kind of person who it's telling people to reuse one dish for everything. At my house we like to eat a lot and we use dishes like crazy, we really enjoy family time.

I hope I get to winn it It will be awesome……..

    • Amy Iddings

Since the moving van will be showing up on Dec. 21st and arriving at out new home on Dec. 23rd, I won't have more than our family of 4 for Christmas Dinner , but I sure could use some pretty paper plates to make clean up faster , so I could get back to unpacking boxes.

    • Katie B

    • Sandi Leigh

Well, not exactly sure, but I do know I will have my three kids, my husband and myself.

    • Kali

My inlaws are staying 6 days with us, making a total of 5 people for each meal, which could be as much as NINETY dishes to do. These free plates could certainly come in handy!

    • Kristin S.

It will just be me, my hubby and our 3-yr-old, but since I'll be 8.5 months preggo for Christmas, I would rather minimize the mess.

    • Vanessa

well, not too sure how many are expected. My family is actually serving a holiday meal at the park, for those that are homeless. We have enough food to feed at least 50 people. (winning this would be great!!!) )

    • Durden kathleen

There is seven children in my family, all girls. This is just my sisters alone. By the time we add the 23grandkids, (6 boys, and 17 girls) and the 8 great granddaughters we have a house full! • Nursecoli

I want to avoid all dishes, so I am going to my parents house. There will be a total of 6 adults and 3 children!

    • Abilton

Our next holiday celebration at my house will be my husbands annual New Years Bar b que and it will be bigger than normal because it is also my 40th birthday. We will probably have 50 – 75 guest. Thats a lot of dishes! Not doing any dishes on my birthday would be awesome!

    • CouponDiva39

We'll have about 30 people at my mom's family dinner….so that one will be at least 50 or 60 dishes. My husband's family is another matter altogether!!! There are too many to count at this point and it's immediate family—probably 100 dishes or more!!!

Dinner on Christmas Eve ….. there will be mom,dad,mother-in-law,2 brothers,3 sisters, 5 in-laws,my 3 children and spouses, 2 twin grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews and no automatic dishwasher which means a lot of dishes to be washed by hand!

    • Janetbugg

Well about 20 expected, but with my mother's cooking, there are usually “drop ins”. My mother's cooking is very good (homemade biscuits) ! In years past we have found disposable plates and cups are a lifesaver!

    • Shayelyn

Wow – this is super awesome! I'm expecting about 20 friends and relatives on Christmas Eve as well as hosting Christmas breakfast for 8. I got a B1G1 coupon for Waverly off an All You email link a few days ago and can't wait to try them out!

    • my next gathering is a huge. We have fellowship gathering for Christmas. That means 5 big family, so total are 10 adults and 12 kids. We really need dishes! and I would be more than happy to avoid clean them after being exausted the whole day.

    • Butterfly_61185

I am so excited about this Holiday. My family and I moved to GA in May and we get to go home for the Holidays. I would love for people to avoid doing as many dishes as possible so that I can have great catch up time. We are going to have about 30 people together. I just can't wait! This is what Christmas is about after all!

    • Shannon

It will probably just be the 5 of us, but last year I used paper plates and it was the best thing ever! It gave me more time to spend with my kids rather than in the kitchen!

    • Rita

Christmas Eve – 11 of us. Christmas Day – the same 11 of us!

    • momto2boys

Not necessarily our next holiday gathering, but the only one I host myself. We will have 19 people on Christmas morning! Our entire immediate family gathers at my house to watch the kids open presents. I love the gathering, but don't always enjoy the cooking and preparation!

    • CouponNERD

I want to avoid doing ANY dishes anytime. But… for the holiday we have our 7, then any number of holiday “orphaned” college student friends of our daughters.

So, maybe 20 people? Who knows… Good thing I have a stockpile!

    • holly

      I love that!!
A small gathering of 4… but many more in January!

    • Kendall

I'm expecting around 20-25 people and I'm not planning to wash one single dish, well besides the serving platters. :)

    • Deannasmiley

Only abour four, but even four people eating a three course meal makes 12 plates, 20 utensils (not counting servingware), and 8 cups!

    • Castanedamayra

I've seen the collection and it's beautiful the design makes it look more upscale and appropriate for the holidays. This year I had everything ready for thanks-giving chopped marinated etc and then all sort of things happened and I arrived home after 6pm as you can imagine there was no way I could have a 20lbs turkey ready so I make some pasta, bread wine salad and a Cheesecake (previously made, thanks God) and that is what we had for dinner it was relax we had time to talk as family of our plans etc that I plan to do something simple for X-mas too at the end all it matters is to be with your family….

    • Jim_tra

I will be having about 30 ladies from church over for a girls' night in a couple of weeks and would love to have this disposable tableware.

    • Carrie

Around 9 people or so of family that never helps me do the dishes. I am not kidding. I am always the one to cleanup.

    • Cathy

There will be 16 for Christmas! Love having the family together! I would rather put food away and leave the dishes for my sister. :)

    • We are hosting my husband's mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law and niece and my mom, dad and sister, plus the three of us, so 11. We used the Waverly collection at Thanksgiving and they were beautiful and having no dishes to wash was awesome!

    • lulu25

I just told my mom about these paper products! There will be about 25 of us at my grandmother's house for lunch on Christmas Day. She always uses her Christmas china, but this year she is facing some physical limitations, but insists on preparing Christmas lunch for everyone. This will be much nicer than ordinary white(flimsy) paper plates!

    • Luvtohomeschool3

I have been planning to have my first 2 Christmas gatherings at my home this year with our families and these would be a blessing to have! Hopefully between the two parties I should have around 21 people or so.

    • Jill Humphries

We're having 25 over for my husband's family party!

All 12 will be together from Dec 24-26 before some have to head out. The last 3 guests will leave on the 28th! Would love to take her some plastic/paper ware when on my arrival day. :)

    • Shufengogo

There will be around 23 family members.

    • Nolachan6

We will have a total of 23 people in our home for Christmas dinner. This is just our immediate family. 11 of these are children. Let me say, there is never a dull moment when we are all together, not to mention we could dirty every dish in the house!

    • Crystal

Well, I have nine for dinner every night when everyone is home so I just stop counting at Christmas time. :)

    • Debbie

There will be over 30 of us together at our home. So times that time every course – too many dishes. Plus our Wal-mart does not accept internet coupons, so buying these without a gift card is pretty much not going to happen.

    • Melissa

I try to avoid dishes as much as possible! I don't mind laundry believe it or not but my boyfriend does the dishes since I hate them so this would be a break for him! There will be about 10-15 people.

    • Sandy

I would love to avoid doing dishes for 14.

    • Emily

We have 9 or 10 people coming for my sons birthday party (Christmas baby). I would love to get a present to myself of not running the dish washer 4 times!

    • JuliaS

We always go to my inlaws for Christmas. So, no people are coming over :)

    • Francomom00

We are expecting 15 family members for our Christmas dinner. So I would looooove some gorgeous disposable dinnerware!

    • Jaymee024

      we should have 10~

    • Lmcelhaney

We usually expect to have about 15 people for Christmas. With everyone in my family liking so many different dishes, there is always a ton of dishes and cups to wash. It feels like I never get caught up with the dinner before everybody is ready for dessert, and more dishes!

    • Carla

only 4 but we won't eat just once – Christmas food is an all day affair

    • Becky

we are having a total of around 10! Would love this giftcard!

    • River

      10 people

    • Robin

      Probably about 25.

    • Sheila

There will be 7 people always and 13 more maybe. I have never had paper plates at a dinner before but they are pretty, maybe this year. I have two christmas babies also (9th &12th). Have a great holiday.

    • Tara

At my parent's house there will be 8 of us and at my inlaw's house there will be 17 of us!

    • Atreaves

    • ann

    • Jmt67

    • Monica

This would definitely be a great help. My husband is one of 5 children and our family get – togethers for the holidays get big. Probably will have about 30 people this year.

    • Catherine

5 adults and two little people will be joining us at the Christmas dinnertable, we started a tradition of having grilled steaks and baked potatoes last year and I can't wait to continue the tradition.

    • Kingdomwarrior78

If Christmas is anything like Thanksgiving at my grandmother's house, it will be a big gathering. We usually have around 30 to 35 – but this Thanksgiving, several family members brought their friends – so there were 11 more “uninvited guests”.

Usually I help Grandma do the dishes and share the cooking. So I would certianly like not to have to do dishes this time.

    • Katkoupon

I will be having up to 30 people at my little girl's first birthday, right after christmas. These would be great since I will still have my tree up and keep with the christmas theme.

    • Cheryl

We'll be having about 11 people over during the Christmas holiday.

    • Cherry

I come from a large family of 6 girls. With all of the Brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends, it is a LARGE gathering. We usually rent the local Fire Department, because no ones home is large enough to hold us all. But, Family is one of life's greatest Blessings….So we will be celebrating Christmas BIG with 25 to 30 people for Christmas Dinner! This Tableware would be perfect!!!

    • sandra

We will be having 15 people over.

    • Kim

2- grandparents…..3 – grown children……3 – grandchildren….1- niece……1-great niece…..numerous friends……and one husky (of course he'll eat the scraps)! I'm getting tired just thinking about it!!!! Just kidding, we have a great time!

    • Kim E

    • Laverne1978

Our extended family (5 generations now) always gets together on Christmas Eve to celebrate, we've done this for longer than I can remember. Took me a while to put together a head count, but we are likely to have 50-75 people to clean up after!!! We could definitely use some extra paper plates, cups and napkins. :)

    • Crystal

I just had an open house holidlay party and we had approximately 75 people come and am still not caught up on doing dishes from it…..

    • Smbrunelli

We have an annual Holiday get together and people make it a point to come to our house. We weren't going to do the party this year because we are kind of tight with our budget right now. People found out and they were so disappointed! So, we decided to have a “small” gathering but how do you limit friends?

We have 30 RSVP's as of right now. And the next day, I am hosting a cookie exchange with 10 RSVP's….So minimum of 40 dishes I would LOVE to avoid!

    • Candies2006mmc

I have never trid this tableware. But I would love to they are so pretty ..

    • Amknighton

I usually host a family Christmas at my home, with about 20 guests, but I'll by 8 1/2 months pregnant this Christmas so it's not at my house. However, I always struggle with what to feed the youngsters on. I have 4 toddlers, and three 8 and 9 year-olds in the family and would love to have this neat “china” for the next family get-together that I host.

    • valeria

    • heyjudi

I am newly married, bringing two children of my own into the “new family”. My husband has three beautiful daughters! In the past I've always relied on my trusty dishwasher but our new home is a quaint country cottage (barely enough room for all of us to squeeze into) and we've no dishwasher THIS year! I'm looking forward to the festivities and sharing joy with family and creating new bonding experiences and memories but I'm not sure I'm up to hand-washing all those dishes whilst everyone else enjoys “It's a Wonderful Life” without me. :( This is our first year as a melded family and I so want to enjoy every minute of it rather than wasting time scrubbing a bazillion dishes.

    • Noel

I'm so excited for Christmas, we'll be having all my family from around the country coming to our home we just bought. It'll be our first Christmas together in about 8 years, the first with my nephew :) There will be about 10 in all, so it will be a good size group .

This is the first time in 8 years we have all been together. My brother & his family have been stationed overseas. We are so glad to have them all back home again.

    • Lady-bug19

      13 very hungry people.

    • Susan

I'll probably have a small group…all total about 10…for Christmas. The tableware would definitely make things light on this mama though.

      elaine1255(at)yahoo(dot)com

    • Lizperdue

We will have 3 sets of visitors to the house. There are only 3-4 in each group, but when you think about 3 meals a day and snacks. I already run my dishwasher too much!

    • Heather M

So far 16 people (including kids)! This is the first year that I'm stuck with dishes & cooking for Christmas so its a little extra STRESS!! We aren't near any family so it will be all of our friends coming to be with us for Christmas!

    • gardengirl

With my sisters and their families we will have 22 people. I would love to avoid doing the dishes for 22 on Christmas Eve, 22 for Christmas breakfast, 22 for Christmas Dinner and 22 for supper (leftovers) not to mention the dessert plates!

    • Pcrouch9

We have quite a large family. 5 children, 5 spouses, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren! We all get together at my mom's house. Its crazy! But, we do go a little more simple with food at Christmas. Usually, soups and sandwiches. So, paper plates, bowls, cups, etc. always helps!

    • Couponsol

its just me, my husband and my son… we need 5 plates for breakfast morning (additional 2 as serving plates :) (after going to mass) 5 plates for lunch and 5 for Dinner. =)

    • C. Beres

How many dished do I want to avoid… ALL of them! We will have 4 people for our holiday gathering. Mu husband, myself, and our newborn twin boys. I don't have time for dishes.

    • Ladyblue501

      We're expecting about 10.

    • We are expecting 25.

    • Shelliebennettchapman

Well this would be great for a fast clean up, we will have 18.

    • Shellbabie

We travel 8 hours to my inlaws house for Christmas, so don't do much with the meal prep and planning. I would love to surprise my mother-in-law with these and contribute to the meals.

    • Littlebugsy74

We expect to have around 40…lots of dishes!

    • Beth

We travel back home for my family and my in-laws…so between the both of them, whew, way too many!

    • Lynndenise2

We are doing two dinners….both sides of the family, so all together we will be feeding about 40 people. And, that's a lot of dishes! I'll definately going to use paper plates, and these are so pretty!

    • Kathyneff

We expect to have about 20 people on Christmas! Way too many dishes!

    • alysia

We are expecting a total of 19 people……

    • Britnipflieger

Were expecting about 15-20 people….so that many dishes! BTW thank you soooo much for your website. I follow you daily and have saved so much on Christmas this year. This is so helpful since money this year is tight! Thanks again, and HAPPY HOILDAYS!

    • Donna H

There will be at least 2 dozen family members for the Christmas gathering for lunch and then again for dinner so. . . at least 48 dishes that we don't want to do.

    • Pattigoose

Who wants to do dishes on Christmas? Too many new toys to play with :-) We are expecting to serve 12 for breakfast, 12 for lunch and probably just 2 for dinner.

    • MK

We will have a total of about 18 at my sister in laws! I am very grateful for her and my brother in law offering to host it this year! I would LOVE to help them out with the dishes part of it :)

    • Peanutpuckett

My Mom is 65 years old and still does ALL Holiday cooking and preperations! I would really love to be able to suprise her with the Waverly tableware, they are so beautiful! She's expecting the whole family……28 people! Thanks, Jacque

    • Crystal

We usually do a small dinner of about 5 or 6 on Christmas Eve because we usually volunteer at the local shelter earlier in the day on Christmas to help cook and serve Christmas dinner.

    • Benandkris10

We will have about 14 at the next gathering at my home, but our next family gathering will have over 50 people present!

    • CAmom

My children still love to celebrate Christmas with a great big family breakfast that includes their Nana (great grandmother), all 20 of us!

    • Ali

We are having 14 people!!!! Merry Christmas

    • Kathy

There will be 7 people at my house and not having to wash dishes would be GREAT.

    • Rdts60

We will only have 6 for our Christmas celebration, but we will have them all weekend. You do the math. Love to have some help!

    • marcee

My family will have about 12 people and we always end up cooking EVERYTHING. I hate having to spend the time cleaning up when I would prefer spending the time with family and enjoying each other's company. Not to mention, that my dishwasher has gone out and am not able to replace it until after the holidays. That will just take so much more of my time in the kitchen instead of visiting with my family. I would love to be one of the lucky ones to use the Waverly disposable plates and accessories – what a gigantic help it would be!

    • I am not 100% sure just yet but it is looking like 10 so far.

    • Diane

The next holiday gathering is Christmas Eve. We will have over 30 for dinner and gift sharing. The family keeps growing.

    • Leigh Ann loves Christmastime

I will have 17 people over for the holiday dinner. 7 of who will be staying the weekend with us. Lots of fun…but lots of work too. I would not trade that time each year for anything!

    • Tntdean

who knows!?! It could be just us 3 up to 10– there's always last minute drama!

    • Holly S.

We know we'll have 2 extras for a few days, and there's the possibility of an additional 3 more for a day or two, plus our 5…that's a LOT of dishes!!

    • Gking0209

There are 7 children all married so that is 14, grandchildren 19, greatgrands 19 and just had our first great great grand all who come to grandmas every holiday thur out the year, this does not include friends and boy/girlfriends that manage to show up usually around 75. It is a great time but yes we use lots and lots of paper products.

    • GKING0209

      Plus GRANDMA

    • Leigh Ann

My sisters and I are cooking for our family this year as mom is undergoing radiation for breast cancer. She always cooks for us all at her home, but this year we get to treat her like a queen after what she has been going through. There will be 16 of us and this beautiful tableware would brighten her spirits and lighten the workload!

    • Slcason6

11! Maybe more. I would love to have these plates and eliminate dishes from my workload – it would leave more time for family time!

    • BJM

The next holiday gathering will have between 12 and 25 people.

    • Donna

Our doors are always open around the Christmas season. We never know what family and friends may stop by NC and say hi. Not spending hours doing kitchen duty makes everyone happy. Thanks Hefty.

    • Jonadana

    • Jennifer

At least 15…. maybe more….can't wait!

We are exptecting 25 – 30 people for Christmas dinner. She will be going through chemo during this time as well and will not feel up to cooking the dinner so that will be taken care of by myself – 29 years old – and her daughter, my sister-in-law (also 29 years old). I JUST HOPE THAT NO ONE BECOMES TOO TERRIBLY ILL FROM OUR COOKING!

    • Rhonda

I cannot tell a lie and say we will have umpteen friends and family members gathered around the table with us this Christmas. It will be just the two of us, our two cats and one guinea pig we call Twinkie. We are a military family and will be moving in to our new house at a new duty station over Christmas. But it sure would be nice to have tableware like that :)

Our Christmas gathering will be about 8 people. Eating off paper plates makes clean up easy, like when we had 30+ at Thanksgiving. However, paper plates look so blah (we use the white ones for Thanksgiving). These would be great! They are beautifully designed and would spruce up our holiday celebration.

    • Tcraven12

As a team leader for Love Out Loud, we are serving about 50 people at a nonprofit on Dec 10. We are serving lunch to students who have had bad experiences in public school but know the importance to finish high school. Its cool to be able to encourage them – and NOT to have to wash dishes!

It's time to plan for Christmas Dinner already? Wasn't it Thanksgiving just a bit ago? Hopefully Christmas Dinner guests, 14 so far, won't be as big of a surprise as Thanksgiving was! I invited 10 and 16 showed up. Talk about dirty dishes…pots. pans, China, glasses and endless utensils! After cooking for two days and endless house cleaning. I would love to win this contest so I could serve my guest on this beautiful Waverly Collection. And no dishes to wash! (Well, except pots, pans, and endless utensils). Anyway, Happy Holidays to all!

    • ACW

Thirteen of us x 2 plates (meal, dessert) = 26 but it's twice as hard to wash dishes when you do it by hand (no dishwasher), so that's the equivalent of 52 dishes. ;) ha

My doors are always open. Everyone knows where to come for the holidays. I always have something sitting around to eat. Someone comes by daily either the kids friends, adult friends or family. There are 4 kids and 2 adults in my house and Christmas time is the best because we love to give and open our home to people.

OMG…um, we'll be hosting the annual Pichard-a-ton in a few weeks. We'll have about 50 or so cousins come over for silly games, dinner and a bonfire with smores and hot chocolate. (Each branch of the family tree is responsible for a game…improvisational skits, digging pennies out of jello with chop sticks, decorating parents & kids like reindeer or Christmas trees, eating a stack of saltines and trying to whistle first…pure silliness I tell you). Whichever family team wins, gets bragging rights and the tacky pink tinsel tree for the year. We all bring a crock pot of chili, soup, chowder, stew (my cousin Kevin makes the best Irish Lamb Stew!!) and there are always too many desserts. Last year, my oldest sister made our Aunts fabulous Coconut Cake…YUM!!!! There are lots of dishes to avoid at this event…the point of this event is to visit, let the kids play and enjoy each other, not do dishes!!! Merry Christmas!
