Have you tried out the Honest company? They sell chemical and chlorine free diapers as well as organic baby care and cleaning products.  The prices are a little higher than my “non-brand loyal drugstore shopping” self would like… but… if you are looking for organic diapers this could be a great option.  Not to mention they are super cute!

Right now they are running a free trial of diapers and wipes and/or a trial of their baby and body care items and cleaning products.  You can order one or all of the free trials and pay $5.95 shipping to get them all.

To give you an idea on prices long term, if you stay on the diaper bundle plan they send you six jumbo packs of diapers per month and 4 packs of wipes for $79.95 a month (with free shipping).  That makes the diapers around $12 a pack which isn’t bad for organic plant based diapers.

Have any of you tried them?  I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!

My husbands co-workers sent us a “Welcome Baby” basket from the Honest Company when our daughter was born in October. It came with an assortment of items. While the diapers are cute, they are a little stiff and not quite as soft as the Pampers Swaddlers I’m used to. I really liked the shampoo and body wash and the lotion is nice too but I wish it was scented. My daughter loves the teething ring.

I’m curious how much the trial includes. I’m wondering whether the amount is worth paying for shipping.

We have been using Honest since June 2013 and I have much to tell.

First, the diapers are amazing and have never leaked due to a design malfunction – just me forgetting to change baby. I haven’t noticed that they’re hard or rough but I’ve never used pampers. My first child was cloth diapered. They change the prints all the time and I have found that now we are using less diapers (and this has been the case for quite some time) that we don’t need a bundle every month, it’s more like every six to seven weeks. They have no problem with this and your delivery date can be determined online without the need to call and discuss it. The wipes are quite large and soft so no raw bums or running out of wipes. Seriously, they last me for as long as the diapers themselves.

Second, the body stuff…love the body oil, body wash/shampoo, bubble bath and diaper/healing balm. I wouldn’t go anywhere during those first months without the balm.

Third, essentials/cleaning. The laundry pods are pretty great and, as a backup I always bought the liquid laundry stuff too since you can’t have more than one laundry pod in your set. The oxy boost stain remover is great too. We use the bathroom cleaner for the girls’ bathroom and it smells like mouthwash. At least none of those yucky chemicals are getting over the girls.

Fourth, they have EXCELLENT customer service, which is worth turning to them just for that. I once received an email signing off with “delightfully yours” – true story!

Fifth, they have an app which you can use to record your baby’s stats and manage any bundles you might have. So convenient.

Sixth, LOVE their swim diapers. Cute prints and they really work. Totally recommend. Plus, if you tag them onto your diaper bundle you get 25% off (you can tag a bunch of baby stuff to your bundle and receive that 25% off btw).

Lastly, if you like a good freebie, I have often received shopping totes, samples, free tub of wipes and other goodies that they run. Holiday 2013 I received a fir tree to plant and a book to read the kids.

I am by no means a crunchy person but when you think of all those chemicals on little folk it’s hard not to feel tempted. This company really does bend over backwards (and some) to help you. It’s safe to say we love honest!!
