im new to ur site (giveaway fan)…just wanted to compliment u on ur set up…i really like the create a printable shopping list feature! i usually have to copy and paste or write it all down!! good job! =)

    • kk

Is anybody else having problems with Kroger not accepting internet coupons???? It's getting to the point I don't even want to go shopping there. I even complained to corporate about it, but they didn't even have the courtesy to contact me or remedy the situation.

      • Mistletoes405

I also contacted Corporate and got no answer. I just dislike Kroger in genereal…the employees, the service, the management, etc. I only go there now when they have a good mega event or when we need something in a pinch
(since it's like 1/2 mile from our house).

        • That's so disappointing! My Kroger is incredibly coupon friendly. In fact I used 8 of the Sobe heads or tails coupons without even a blink of an eye, which quite honestly surprised me because I've never even attempted more than 2.
This is how I feel about Walgreens though. The walgreens around me just aren't very coupon friendly and it can be frustrating to see the good deals others get and know that I can't get them as well.
I guess everyone has THAT store that ends up being their nemesis in couponing!

      • Keyrahollmer

I dont have any problems at the Kroger in the Dawsonville ga area. They accept all my coupons, and then some. It might just be different managers and their policies.Try going to a different one (call ahead to see if they accept them)

        • Chrissy

Wow! Covington GA Krogers do not accept competitor coupons. I guess it is up to the managers.

          • Tylisa

The one near 212 and Brown Bridge still took my Publix Qs but stopped taking my Target Qs. No lost sleep for me though because I usually ALWAYS go to the Publix on 138 because they take EVERYONE'S coupons. You name it, they probably take it…..and they are SOOO friendly, unlike the people at the Salem Publix.

        • Pakmeanmom

The same thing happened to me at one Kroger. I talked to the manager and told him that the manager (and I named him) at the other Kroger accepts competitors' coupons and allows stacking. Well, me and my big mouth! The next time I went to that other Kroger that I really prefer, they stopped accepting the coupons! That other manager did say that Mr. so and so shouldn't be and he was going to talk to him! Boooo! I gave up the hassle of dealing with Kroger (won't get into their Pharmacy issues). I am shopping at Publix, Food Lion (great meat deals) and Walmart. By the way, the good Kroger I bragged on do have a wonderful staff and great manager but the store's coupon policy left me in the cold!

      • Tigress1321

Some people are having trouble with Kroger taking internet coupons and paper coupons (I guess their corporate policy is they aren't supposed to take both but mine does in Dallas). You may just have to try a different one if you can.

      • Sarah

My kroger will only take certain internet coupons. Most cashiers will only accept the coupons that have the funny barcode at the top. All coupons.com coupons have this barcode, but the smartsource.com and many other printable coupons do not. They are supposed to accept them as long as they have a watermark, but most cashiers will not accept my smart source coupons.

      • lynn8808

Kroger wouldn't accept my internet coupons because they said they weren't accepting any coupons that “looked” like copies. (I print in black ink so I don't use up all my color ink) Even upon speaking to a manager I was told they wouldn't accept my coupons, I haven't been back since. I refuse to use up all my printer ink just so they can tell me they won't accept those either.

        • guest

You have to look it from the stores point of view though alot of people are bring in fraudulant coupons and the store does not find out until the company does not reimburse the money from the coupons. Some Krogers have stopped taking free coupons from the internet because so manyyyy are fraudulant the cashiers get notices all the time about these coupons and its so popular that there are even $5,000 rewards upon finding them. Sorry about the inconvience though

    • RW

what zip code for the Betty Crocker coupon? It doesn't show up for me

    • KMW

I had trouble lat night with Kroger accepting competitors coupons, like Target and Rite Aid :( Kroger has always excepted any coupon I had!

      • Reymannkids

One of the cashiers at my Kroger told me they would not accept Catalina coupons that had another store printed on them anymore even though they are man. coupons. I asked to speak to a manager and he quickly decided to accept them anyway. Half the time I don't think the cashiers know what they are talking about. Stand firm and always get it from the manager.

        • guest

All Krogers have stopped taking other store coupons. As long as it says manufacturer coupon on it then the cashier should take it. I work for Kroger and was dissapointed when they stopped taking the competitor coupons since I too use them but at least there are digital coupons!!!

      • nancy11442

My Kroger wouldn't take a target coupon I had recently. But….my Kroger is not too nice to customers.

    • TK

The Warm Delights on clearance on my store were the molten caramel cake, the peanut butter fudge brownie and the cinnamon swirl. Can't beat 19 cents!

    • Emily

Kroger would only accept 2 coupons for each product last week on the Mega Sales. Is that their policy? I've never had that issue before. I had approx. 4 manufacturer couons and a coupon for each but they handed 2 of the coupons back, saying they can't take that many. ????

      • Sharon

Emily, I had the same experience and was told that they will not accept more than two Internet printed coupons that have the same source code. They will take multiple coupons from the paper – just not the Internet. They also informed me that they no longer take competitor coupons, or FREE product coupons (even if the coupon was received in the mail and on safety paper – unless of course it's a Kroger coupon!) unless it requires you to purchase an item to get an item. Although I believe their policy varies from store to store/state to state, they have a policy posted on their website and it's even worse than what is enforced by most of their cashiers. Look for the Coupon Acceptance policy on the Kroger home page.

I think I posted this comment before but not sure it was on this particular site. My dtr in law got me interested in couponing. I've been trying but frankly am not getting these “great” deals you are all talking about. I'm only getting face value for the mfg coupons. Kroger does double coupons up to $1.00 hardly ever in my area. I save maybe $50 or $60 off my bill but it takes forever to shop and $.35 cents hardly seems worth it. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Please advise. At Publix they allow stacking etc. Kroger never even has that that I can find. I do the 10/10 and the B1G1 things but am about to give this up and go back to Sams or Costco. Any help would be appreciated.

      • ireneY

Kroger has good sales every few weeks. The best deals involve stacking an e-Q from kroger dot com, shortcuts dot com, or cellfire dot com. For instance, the Schick razor is on sale for $5.12. Use the $5 MQ and load $4 e-Q for $3.88 overage. I don't need the razor itself, but the overage covers other items.

Give it another try on just the fabulous deals posted on Southersavers and skip the ho-hum weeks!

        • marie

not sure where your Kroger is, but in TN, our Kroger doesn't give overage like Publix does..might want to check your receipt to see if you actually GOT the $3.88 overage..hope you did!! :-)

        • Chanda S

The e-coupon is for razor and refills. Otherwise, would have been a great deal

          • Chanda S

            Nevermind…read it wrong

      • itismedia

Start S-L-O-W. Aim for 50% savings. Costco and Sams are a lot more expensive than regular grocery stores on a lot of their merchandise. Kroger doubles up to .50, meaning that a .50 coupon will double to a dollar, but a .55 coupon will not double at all. Do you have a Publix? I have found that meats, health and beauty, meds are always cheaper at Kroger, but I get great deals on so many other things at Publix. They have BOGO sales every week and accept competitor's coupons (you need to check with your store to see who they consider competitor).

Also try making your meals from what you have on hand rather than planning your shopping around your meals. This allows you to buy things at their cheapest and store them for later.

I hope this helps a little, but remember, anything you save is money in your pocket

      • Pakmeanmom

I am not a Kroger fan. They are too restrictive on their coupons. However, the e-coupons,cellfire, etc. are great and I find saving money on one item with the manufacturer's and using the e's. That's on a good week. Other than that, use Publix. They are much more customer friendly using competitors' (check with them). My Publix accepts the three grocery stores' coupons near me. It is only the store's coupon that states their name on the coupon and not the words “manufacturer coupon”. I have Food Lion near me and, they, too, accept competitors' and double up to 60 cents. Some weeks it is fun and others' it's a drag!! Then when I give up on coupons I hit Walmart and they'll match the others' ads. I NEVER use Costco or Sam's. That's all a farce! GOOD LUCK and don't let it overwhelme you. As the other poster said, Take it Slow.

    • Beauti

I love this site…..thanks for all you do….I am new to this way of coupon saving and not a fan of our Kroger However, I am taking advantage of many deals that you have pointed out. I was disappointed that the Betty Crocker Warm delight bowls weren't on closeout or special at our store they were 2.29 so I passed on that hoping a better deal comes later. I am currently able to use ecoupons and paper coupons with no trouble but I did notice on Kroger website their coupon policy says you cannot use both.

      • Kspeacher

my Kroger only had one flavor of the Betty Crocker Warm Delight bowls marked down and they were $1.29. Got it for about 50 cents after my coupons… but I will be watching weekly for them to be marked down further :)

    • Cathy

Kroger in N. Myrtle Beach had half-gallon chocolate milk for $.99 yesterday.

    • Nmckeown

OH SWEET! So I just did the reach floss deal and it printed a catalina for $1 off REACH FLOSS!!! So I did it again and again… I stopped after 7 free containers of floss. On #7, it printed yet another coupon which will be saved for another sale. It doesn't expire until 11/16/10.

Also, a deal I didn't see here- in the 8/15 Atlanta Journal there was a $0.50/1 frozen minute maid dessert cups. They are $1 at Kroger this week; which makes for free desserts! I didn't find this coupon in the Augusta Chronicole or the Aiken Standard.

      • Leigh

How many floss did you buy to get the first catalina? My husband just picked up 3 for me and didn't bring a catalina home. He was supposed to pick up 4 floss, 1 handsoap, Shamrock Farms Rockin Refuel, and 2 dozen eggs. We needed eggs so I figured I could get him to get the free items for me while there. Well he got 3 floss and gave 4 coupons and they took them off. So, it's kinda like I got one dozen eggs for free. The total was $1.33. So, I can't complain. :)

        • Kspeacher

I've received the $1 Catalina with all 3 I've purchased. I have one more and plan to run by Kroger today and get that. If I get another, I'll save it for the next sale as well. That will give me 4 free and should last us a long time :)

    • Susan

I also got the catalina for the free floss after 'buying' two tonight so am going back tomorrow with that and a few more coupons I dug out from 8/1. I needed spiral bound notebooks and they were marked down from $1.55 to 0.15. I couldn't believe it! I spent $3.40 and saved $27 something. It was a great success!!

    • ireneY

Sudafed was marked 50% to $5,xx at my store, not the $2.34 that Jenny reports. I even scanned it to make sure. Does anyone know if Kroger closeouts get marked further as time goes on, like Target?

    • Lmeaker

I just found a great catalina deal at my Kroger in TN. Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel $4.19 with a $1.00 catalina. I had a B1G1 coupon from the 8/1 SS insert and got 2 of the catalinas at the end of my purchase, making them $1.08 each.

    • Nikki

why were you posting coupons from January or March? (the reach toothbrushes) wouldn't those be expired by now? I see that sometimes on other blogs and don't get it?

      • Moggy

They're not expired yet. Some coupons have really long expiration dates, some don't.

    • Lmdeanna

I found a few catalina deals at Kroger last week. Buy 4 cans of selected pringles and get $1.50 towards your next purchase any one can of pringles. Buy 4 packages of Knorr Pasta Sides and get $1.50 off your next purchase at Krogers. There was a catalina on Kikoman Soy Sauce also but it wasn't a great buy…buy 2 at $3.79 and get .75 off your next purchase at Kroger.
