Does anyone know if this code will work if you are buying your Restaurant.com gift cert. w/swagbucks?

    • Nicole

OK- not cool. I just bought one of these for my dad's birthday gift and AFTER I bought it, it told me it must be used for parties of 4 or more people.

      • anne2001

I can't figure out if you actually get the face value at the restaurant, or if you have to spend say, 100.00 at Saluda's to get the 50.00 off, therby having spent 54.00 plus tip? Does that sound right? And if you do a regular gift certificate, does it really give you the full value of the card? You have a 50.00 check and a 50.00 gift card – you pay only tip? I've never used these things. Anyone have any insight?

      • nicole

OK- that was my mistake- i went back to it and it actually states that on the webpage… i just didn't see it.

    • Corinne

Thanks so much! Now my boyfriend and I can go on a decent date.

Be VERY careful using restaurants.com. Often they advertise it as one thing and once you buy it, it comes with additional exclusions/conditions that were not advertised with the initial offer. A good example is the late inclusion of “only good for four or more parties” posted above. We had a bad experience earlier where we went to supper with another couple hwo also had a coupon and we could only use one coupon per table. Our last purchase was for a $25 card which printed with an additional condition that it be only for purchases $100 or above. Not exactly a money saver.

Anyway, just be careful! YOu might not get what you think you’re getting.

        • busynewmom

Some restaurants WILL take more than one per table if you are dining with another couple. We just ask in advance and don't make a big deal if they won't let you since it is printed on the certificate. Some places are just more friendly, we think a lot depends on what kind of night they are having too.

I've used Restaurant.com since 2006 and every restaurant certificate's terms and conditions are stated clearly on the restaurant's page, and often on the page with the listings of the restaurants. You must have just missed it.

    • Lana

Reply to everyone-all the details about how certificates are to be used are spelled out before you purchase. Read carefuly. You can never use more than one certificate per table and it has always ben that way. You can call the customer service nimber on their website to exchange any certificate for up to 90 days after you purchase it. We have used these for maybe 2 years and we are very happy for our savings. You can save 20% at Cashbaq.

      • freya336

I agree with you, Lana. We've used tons of these over the past couple of years. Each restaurant has their own rules, but they are pretty clearly stated as long as you read and don't assume.

I think these are absolutely wonderful! Whenever we are planning a trip somewhere, I always do a quick search of the area to see if there is anywhere there or along the way that we can use one of these.

        • Lana

We do this too when we travel and if we don't use them I just exchange them. We have eaten at some wonderful restaurants this way. I do have a great deal of trouble with cigarette smoke so sometimes I call the restaurant before purchasing to ask if they are smoke free.

        • emily_hope

freya336… Thanks for the idea. I've never thought about looking for these in the area where we are heading for vacation. I will now!

    • Thanks Jenny! I got $130 worth of gift certificates for $10.40! I plan to use a couple for my husband and I and give the others as gifts. Yes, they do come with a few conditions, but I think they are reasonable for the savings.

    • brooke_b

I would be kind of skeptical of the fine print on these- but it does plainly state the conditions- some are not so bad considering the great savings you will be getting. However the closest restaraunt I could find was over 20+ miles away so I don't think I will be taking this offer.

    • freya336

I've used several of these as gifts. I usually give this by itself, but for someone I really like (like my mom), I also gave her a Visa gift card to go with the certificate to help make up the difference and make it more of a “free” nice meal.

    • Yvonne

How do you sign up for that? I'm new with this can anyone help me?
      Thanks!

    • tseaney

Wow, I just purchased $500 worth of restaurant food for $50. Getting gift cards in 2 to 3 business days delivered. Thanks!!!

    • For a limited time, to celebrate their 25th anniversary, CiCi’s is offering buffet meals for only $3.99. The offer ends on Feb. 28th. Check with your store before ordering to make sure they are participating.

    • Allison

I just got some of the “real” gift cards in the mail. Apparently, these are not redeemable at the restaurant… you still have to go online and redeem for a particular restaurant with the same conditions as if you order directly from online. Still a great deal for $25 gift card for $3, but the process wasn't exactly clear on their website.

      • Charity

I ordered the “real” gift cards too and found out when I recieved them that you still have to purchase a certain amount to use them. A decent deal but not what was stated on their website for “real” gift cards. A little irritating for sure!
