Are you looking for some new toys for your kids? Birthday gifts or even some early Christmas shopping?

Target marks down their toys twice a year – once in July and then right after Christmas.

The July markdowns started yesterday in stores, with many toys marked 50-75% off! The play dish set pictured above is now only $8.28. This Toy Story 3 Action Links Junkyard Escape Stunt Set has been marked down 50% and is now only $11.20.

You can get the same clearance deals on Target.com too, with a little less driving and fighting in the stores (not that any of you would fight, of course).  Shipping starts at $4.

This is perfect!!!Right on time for a friends birthday!! Thanks Jenny!

    • tina

Majority stores have been cleared out from different blogs ive been following. People with 4-5 baskets. I went yesterday and scored big over $300 for $80. Good Luck

    • Target in Raleigh (Off Capital by Sam's) is pretty cleared. They had some 50% boys toys left but all the baby dolls and girl toys were GONE. Target in Knightdale was marking theirs down yesterday and have NOTHING worth anything left!!!

      • Kishnianne

Hey Sarah I live in Raleigh by that area !! Have you checked any of the other Targets around !! I bought Our Generation girl stuff but was upset it was only 30% off . I usually score girl stuff for my daughter and niece but seemed to only find cool boy stuff at 75% off !!

        • I haven't been to any others. I almost made way into the Triangle Town location today but kept away to avoid temptation of buying too much too early. When I do buy a lot now, my daughted ends up with WAY too much and I get left cleaning it all up so I stayed away and remain happy with what I did get. Yeah, the boys things were the only good things left. I plan to try again next week to see if the summer slides and water sport items will go down again.

Got very lucky in the downtown Charlotte Target! Got all my sons birthday and Christmas done for $45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • jessica

was told yesterday about a b-day wanting a picnic set… got her that cute one on top of page for $14.00 not a steal but good enough! thank you jenny@!

    • Tash

I went yesterday morning and got 2 carts full for under $100! I went back up there a few hours later and they were cleaned out!!

      • Christinec

i wonder why they were cleaned out?…

        • goose330

Christinec – if you're implying that Tash cleared the shelves, you are more than likely WRONG.  I got a huge cart full of toys, spent less than $100 and only got 1 of each item I bought.  Let's play nice.  What do you think?

        • Kim

I see resellers at every one of these markdowns.  If she was a reseller, she would have literally taken an arm and swiped every single toy that was high value such as Lego's into her cart.  Most resellers will call the store manager and have them bring pallets and try to take every single toy available.  I went to 5 different Targets yesterday and bought all of my Christmas presents and spent $353.  Some of the toys are in large, bulky boxes that take up a lot of room in a cart.  My friend had a sand/water table in one of her carts and it took up the whole cart.

    • Pjcofer127

Scored an Imaginext Dragon Castle (originally $49.99) for only $14.98! It had cool accessories that went with it as well, most were originally in the $12 range, and are now all $3.88

An employee told me that they typically mark down toys on Thursdays, and that if you look in the upper right corner of the clearance price tag, you can see where it'll say either 30, 50, or 70, referriing to the current discounted percentage amount, and that mostly what gets marked down on Thursdays is what's already been marked down, so….if they have a lot of something that's clearance tagged, just wait a week, it might be even cheaper! :)

Hope this helps some other readers out there! Happy Shopping!

      • MK

I saw that castle when it was 50% off at $24. I decided to wait. Yesterday when I was in there the lady in CS told me that if you buy it and it goes on sale within two weeks for less they do a price adjustment. Ugh! Wish I had known sooner. : )

        • Kishnianne

Is that the policy for all Targets because I wish I would have known it too !!

          • Kim

If it is a sale, you can bring your receipt back.  But not on clearance items.  If you find another one at 75% you can buy it and return with the 50% off receipt, but they will not price adjust on clearance.  HTH

    • Angelascoupons1

They still have toys on clearance online.  If you spend at least $50, you'll get free shipping.

    • Shelley

Haven't been to the store yet, but I browsed online and was going to order some stuff for birthdays and Christmas…only 5 items and the total was about $40, but then shipping was $18!!!!!  no way??!!  Not a deal for that much shipping, thanks anyway Target!  Soo, go to the store if you want better deal:)

      • Appleshell

It's only a good deal online if you spend $50 and get the free shipping.

        • Gatubelaflecha

yo dont get free shipping for toys online! i bought some and was more than 50.00 and they dont let me get the free shipping because the toys r not in the free shipping deal!:(

    • Acaldwellgovols

Just returned from the Lex, SC Target, don't waste your time! The workers even told me they don't do Christmas in July at their store. They had some stuff for 30% off but its not worth the drive!

      • Leeannsc01

Ugh yeah I went today too…my friends scored big over on Garners Ferry…..so I made a special trip and was highly disappointed!

      • MK

I was told the same thing by someone else that went to that store. I think there is one on Harbison too. I know the one on Two Notch had a ton of great stuff yesterday. Probably mostly gone by today. Call the stores before going down there. Ours marks down on Thrusdays. Next week at our store, the 50% off will go to 75% according to the lady that was doing the pricing yesterday.

    • Nicole

Call your stores ahead of time. I work at a Target and each store gets marked down on their own schedule. My store in FL went 75% yesterday but the store 2 miles away is still at 30%. So call ahead for sure!

      • MK

That's what I did. When ours went to 30% off, I called once a week until  yesterday when the lady here said they marked down to 75% yesterday morning. I booked it down there. LOL. It was already picked over pretty good but I still got some goodies. ; )

    • elizabeth

Just returned from the Snellville GA target, and didn't find a huge amoutnt of clearance.  But I still found a few cute things for birthdays/Christmas.  One hint: check the summer/outdoor toy area too!  I got a huge waterslide thing that was regularly $40 for $9.99!  We have PLENTY of hot days left here, and there's always next year too!   :-)

    • satha

I went  early this morning to a target in Jacksonville,fl and got some 75% off things. The legos, thomas, and hot wheels stuff was cleared out but I scored some moon sand, jumping bean, and bubble gun.

    • Eliasmorrison

The kids/toddler clothes were on sale at our Target too. Boys (kids sizes) bathing suits were only $3.48. I racked up some polos for $3 each for my son for next summer. Mighty bean stuff was 1.50.

    • Dwilson19

Target in Pembroke Pines FL had tons of toys on clearance today. Mostly boy toys though.

    • Nikkijon1

i looked through these deals online and most are muuuch cheaper in the store, take the angelina ballerina doll. its $5 online and i paid $1.08 and no shipping…..just sayin

    • MK

I scored big yesterday. The lady doing the pricing said they mark down every Thursday. She said the stuff that was 50% off right now would go to 75% next thursday. : )

Normaly $30 down to $7. Toy story action figures for $1.25, special agent ozo sets (from disney channel) $2, Bubble rocket blasters $1.48. Kung fu panda sets for $1.25.

    • Kim

I went to 5 Targets yesterday and got  $1350.11 retail value for $353.41.  I saved $996.70.  Target marks the majority of the toys down the last week of July.  Some stores do it on Wednesday, but most do toy markdowns on Thursdays.  A handful of toys will be marked down to 75% a few weeks prior to the big markdown and the toys that are still sitting at 30% or 50% should be marked down within a few weeks.  Some toys, especially Lego's may never make it to 75%.  Target will salvage them and sell them to Goodwill or a liquidation company.

      • Autball

Seriously, maybe you should save some for other people. I don't mean to be mean, but 5 stores!

        • DaculaMama

HUSH – life isn't fair!!!  Her gas, her time …  I say “Congrats”.  If I had organized myself and gotten out of bed, I'd be bragging also.  Can't complain about her when I (or you) may have been the true issue!!  Good for you Kim!!!!!

      • Mary

wish i could hit that big.  Got 5 kids here to buy for Christmas and our closest Target is over an hour away.

    • Miche01

Went to target yesterday and scored big. Got@$800 for$200. For kids, donations at church for Christmas

    • Almsw119

Well, the toys were gone, ALL GONE, when I got there today.  However, there were other clearances, Method cleaner, Dawn, Lysol concentrate, and other cleaners on sale!

    • Liz Shifflett

I got over $250 worth of toys for just $38.  It was mostly boys stuff. My Target (in Norfolk, VA) didn't have much for girls/toddlers (I have a 21 mo old girl).  But I am DONE shopping for my 4 yr old son's bday and xmas!  Lots of Tron stuff!!
