I'm new to couponing and just have a question. If something ends up being free after getting a RR back, do you always purchase it (and donate it if you don't need it)?

      • I do. I keep my RR (and ECB from CVS) each week to use the following week. This allows me to start off ahead of the game. If it ends up being free after coupons and RR amounts, I ALWAYS buy it. These items can be donated to pantry's, shelters, animal shelters, churches, etc… Why turn down FREE stuff? (Plus once you fill a bag or box w/ donations, wherever you donate it should be able to give you a tax rec't for its full value. file that away in your 2010 tax file and they rack up!)

        • tygirl13

I always get the free stuff..because it is free…and can be donated or I often give stuff to my brother and his college friends. The tax deduction thing is interesting to me. Lets just say that I have a lot of experience with the Internal Revenue Code… Not that this would make a huge difference, but if you were to get a pretty sizable deduction from items that you didn't actually pay for, I wonder if “they” would want you to pick up the “income/economic benefit” that you received from the use of the coupons. I seriously doubt that the deduction would be big enough to make a significant difference in your tax liability, but it is something to think about. I have never actually thought of the potential income tax benefits/consequences of couponing. Apparently, my job has ruined the way that I look at everything ;-)

          • In my case, I never consider the tax deduction since my standard deduction is always higher. Plus, you need to donate food to a qualified organization and keep your receipts for the donated items in order to complete the correct IRS form.
            Interesting topic.

        • Ginger

I'm not a tax expert, but I think that “technically” you aren't supposed to deduct more than what you paid for it.

I know that this may be overly cautious, but when dealing with the IRS, I always prefer to play it safe, rather than getting on their wrong side. :)

          • Ginger, Any place that you donate items to will ask you (or have a spot on the tax rec’t for it) what is the item/s VALUE. Not what did you pay for it. It is the same when you donate to Goodwill, the Library, food pantry, etc…

      • Amy, I think it's really up to you. I always get the free itemsbecause I am a military wife and in the commisary accept the register rewards coupons and I donate or sell on ebay the items I don't use. Remember you always have to pay taxes for whatever you buy, so you always spend money out of your pocket. It can be 7% or more depending on the taxes in your state.

        • yola

Which commissary do you shop at? if you don't mind me asking, I live in san antonio and I didn't know that the commissary accepted rr from walgreens. Do you know it that is the same in every commissary or just yours? Thanks

          • Hi Yola, I shop at the commisary in KingsBay, Georgia. Go to : http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=107874215934544
This is in every commissary, ask the cashier but don’t get discourage if they tell you they don’t accept the. Simply ask for the manager. All the cashier in my commisary didn’t know about it until i talk to the manager and the manager handle the coupon acceptance guide they have. Cashier don’t have a clue sometimes, but just print out the facebook page and ask the manager. I have saved hundreds of dollars and I don’t mind to educate every cashier about this. It’s frustrating since I know more about their job than they do. Good Luck and let me know if you need more info.

            • yola

thanks I'll ask one of the managers before I decide to shop with my rr, I think the managers here and even the cashiers are not that educated about coupons so will see what happens. But thanks again, I'll let you know!!!

          • I shopped at KingsBay GA. every commisary should accept them, check with the manager in yours. Check on facebook, the official page of the Defense Commissaries Agency.

Isn't reselling items you bought or essentially got for free unethical?

          • Good Question. I don't believe it's unethical resell items you don't use ,even if you got them for free. I have the items for free because of the time I spend searching for deals and clipping coupons. At the end people who buy my items save money because the price is still lower than retail.Ebay and Amazon will be out of business if people believe this activity is unethical. I wonder what make you believe that this might be unethical. I like to call it Entrepreneurship. I put my labor to get an item for free and resell it for a profit.

          • A. K.

Don't think so…I wouldn't mind at all if I bought something from someone and they had gotten it for free…good for them! They make a profit, and I get what I want….! That's part of the 'free market' and 'supply and demand'. People can do whatever they want with their items….whether donation or selling…..who cares? Who are we to say that it's “unethical” of someone to sell their own goods? For all we know, this military wife might donate $1,000 worth of stuff and sell $50 worth….I don't see anything unethical with her doing whatever she wants with her things.

      • Amy

Thanks to you both for answering. And Deedee, I never thought about the items being tax deductible – sweet!!

    • Christinescoupon

I am kind of confused on coupon stacking. When can you use store coupons and manufactures coupons together? The Walgreens booklet by the flyers, are those store or M coupons? Or like when it says Target web coupon can that only be used at Target? Any help would be appreciated I am trying hard to get the 'swing' of this and am very grateful for such an amazing site!

      • Couponmom9876

The coupons in the Walgreens Booklet are store coupons so you can use them with manufacturer's coupons. I have learned with my Walgreens that they will not let me use Manufacturer coupons if they are over the price of the item. This week they had Gain Dish Detergent for $.89 with in-ad coupon and I had a $1 off man. coupon. I gave her the man. coupon first and then the in-ad. This way, they let me use it. Hope this helps a little!

        • Christinescoupon

It does thanks for answering :-)

        • macboy

Yes, I had overage on the Gain and a $0.01 overage (woo-ha) reach the Reach dental floss. She scans the MC's first.

    • Mbrown5376

I can't get the tresemme coupon or the suave coupon for body wash . Any suggestions?

    • macboy

Question: The Old Spice Body Wash will be $2.89 at my Walgreens. I will have the September BOGO coupon and the October BOGO coupon. Apparently, there will be a $1/2 in this upcoming paper too. So, could I buy 4 bottles and be able to use 2 BOGO coupons AND the $1/2?

      • tygirl13

You should. Give the $1/2 first and then the BOGOs. The logic being $1 off the two BOs and then your two GOs. Depending on your store, you may want to take a copy of the coupon policy with you.

        • Pcasane

So, are the BOGOs always last to give?

          • tygirl13

In the past, I have had problems w/ BOGO attaching to both items and not allowing the $off. So I always give all $off, BOGOs, Store, and then RR. Since I have started doing this I haven't had problems. Of course we all know that wags can be finicky at best, so this isn't a guaranteed solution…but it works for me. But I ALWAYS take the store coupon policy, now that they have one your cashier should push it through even if you do get the dreaded beep…

            • Brooke

My Wags was not picky at all today suprisingly! The guy was younger and he accidentally rang up a $4 q one time too many. Every coupon that beeped, he just entered it in himself. Very easy trip today!

            • Brooke

Of course I didn't notice that he had rang up that q an extra time until now when I looked at my receipt. Normally if I catch something like that, I will say something. Just didn't want people to think I was ripping them off and leave me mean comments lol.

        • macboy

My Wags has been good and took a BOGO coupon and $1/1 for Head & Shoulders Shampoo a few weeks ago, but I will take a copy of the policy just in case. Thanks!

    • Rjcj10

Jenny- Will we get Friday finals this week??

    • AJinnette

I'm confused… I am looking at the sneak peak add on-line and the sale you have listed as

$2 RR WYB $10 of participating products (downy, etc.)

is in the online paper as

BUY $10 OF PARTICIPATING PRODUCTS BELOW, GET 500 BONUS POINTS

Are bonus points the same as RR?

    • Brooke

If I buy 4 items, use 4 q's(2 q's are b1g1 free q's), do I have to have 2 more filler items?? I haven't shopped at Wag's in so long, I forgot. Thanks!

      • NBASSHELTON

ONE COUPON PER ITEM SO IF YOU HAVE MORE, THEN YOU HAVE TO HAVE FILLERS.HOPE THIS HELPS

        • Brooke

          Thanks!

      • NBASSHELTON

OH AND BTW GIVE THE MANUFACTURERS COUPONS 1ST THEN THE BOGO HAPPY. SHOPPING!

        • Pcasane

So, If we have a store coup, man coup and a B1G1…what order would you give them to the cashier..store, manuf, then B1G1…And Brooke, can you explain what you are buying? Is it four of the same item?

          • Brooke

Yeah all four items are the same! I bought them today instead of tomorrow though because I noticed they barely had any when I went in today!

      • RobinB78

It depends. Use the “normal” manu Q's first ($1/1 or whatever they are) THEN use the BOGOs. IF you plan to use RR to pay on top of that then you will need one small filler item for each RR because they are considered q's so you wouldn't be able to buy 4 items, use 4 q's for those items AND the RR. You'd need a filler. HTHs!

    • Brooke

My plan is to buy 4- 28oz Mr. Clean Multi-Surface Cleaners, 2 Pantene, 4 Old Spice body washes, and 2 Gillette body washes, and 6 Halloween cups as fillers for $10.74 OOP. I love coupons!!!

    • Sharon

Does any one know how to get the coupons to print on healthesavers.com

      • natalie

yes: select the coupon you want, then enter your email address in the box at the right, above the coupons. They will be emailed to you!

    • Diane

I cannot find the clorox Q on facebook. Has anyone been able to?

      • Marlana

You have to “like” clorox first. Then click on “Clorox Home” tab and then “Products and Offers”. Hope this helps. :)

        • Diane

That did help. I'd have never found it myself! Thank you so much.

    • Faybel83

All of your lines are on top if each other

    • blessed04

Jenny, Do you still scan the weekly ad? Because I like to pull it up and view it that way…..if so, what do I click on to pull it up? (since the website has been 'remodeled' I can't seem to look at the ad anymore)…..p.s. thanks for all you do!!

      • Brooke

        go to iheartcvs(dot)com

        • Brooke

I mean go to iheartwags(dot)com lol….sorry it's been a long day for me!

    • Brooke

Went to Walgreen's today to get a few things and here is what I got for $15.48 with $1 RR leftover:

      2 Air Wick Freshmatic Compact i-motion $7.98

2 Glade scented oil candle refills $5

2 Glad Scented oil candle holders on clearance for $3.98 both!

4 28 oz. Mr. Clean multi surface cleaners $15.16 (bought today instead of tomorrow because they only had six on the shelf!)

      Double Dallas Sunday paper $5.00

      Skittles for my nephew .89

      2 Diet Snapple single packets 10ct $2.00

      BIC candle lighter $2.99

Crayola Color Wonder Toy Story w/markers $1.99 clearance

      Used:

$2.00 of Sunday paper q peelie on newspaper

      2 B1G1 Mr. Clean q's

      $1.50 Mr. Clean q

      .75 Mr. Clean Q

      2 $4.00 Airwick I Motion q's

2 Buy one Glade scented oil candle holder, get refills free

And now that I am looking at my receipt, somehow the guy rang up my $4.00 off q's for the Air Wick I Motion 3 times instead of 2! So normally it would have cost $4 more. Still a good deal though!

      • Brooke

Saved $43.71 btw and without the guy ringing up the q too many times I would have saved $39.71.

        • Cheryl

where did you find the B1G1 mr clean? i love this stuff! but i probably won't buy it without this coupon.

          • Brooke

It was from the last P&G…it expires at the end of this month.

    • Can print 2 more tilex at http://www.tilex.com (link to bricks link at the bottom of the page)

    • NSBsaver

Whoohoo!!!…. Theres a -$2/2 coupon for glade scented oil candles in October savings booklet! Pair it up with the Glade mfr coupons and Glade candles that are on clearance and they are cheap!!!!

Just got 2 (4oz) Candles, marked down to $1.89= $3.78. -$1/2 mq and $2/2 sq, total was $.78 before tax! =)

      • NSBsaver

Oh, I just have to add that when I asked the cashier for the sale booklet, she said “You know, you can pair these store coupons with your manufacturers coupons for extra savings.” ….. How thoughtful! =)

    • Zjqtcj

Went to the store early morning and the Hyland’s Cold ‘n Cough 4 Kids were all gone. The cashier said they only got 3 in store. I wish I can go midnight next time if there is a good deal.

      • MCLEODSC

I also went early just to buy one of the Hylands Cold n Cough 4 Kids. I could not find them and the cashier said maybe they are on the baby aisle. I was about to give up when I turned around and looked up . They were HIDDEN on the very top shelf under the sign PAIN where the tylenol and aspirin were. I told the cashier where they were hidden in case any other customers came in looking for the item. She asked if I meant they were in the wrong area to which I replied the wrong area and HIDDEN.

        • Corsicab

I have found other “free” items (after RR) HIDDEN in the Walgreen's I go to. Often times they are not even labeled with the sale that is going on. I continue to go there though, I keep thinking it will get better…hears to hoping! :)

    • Lisaheidi

There was a $4 coupon for VIcks Sinex spray in the P & G insert in today's paper so I got it free today at Walgreens.

    • fyi the tilex is printing out 2 – $2 RR when you buy two for the 2/$5 deal. So basically even w/o coupon they are 50 cents each. I'd jump on it today before they catch the error. Worked as of 1pm est in Tallahassee, FL. It worked at 2 locations.

      • Diane

worked for me, too, with clorox wipes then toilet cleaners. So happy!

    • Nita Royal

Anyone else have trouble with the Neutrogena Q's? I had 2 of the ones that say “valid only at Walgreen's”, though they say mfg q on top. I tried pairing these with the ones from All You, but the store wouldn't take them….they beeped when scanned.

      • Fans 2glenna

The reason they did that is because of they are manufacturers cpns. that r just redeemable at like walgreens, target, etc…since they r manu cpn u can not use them w/other manufacters cpns. The only way is if it is a walgreens cpn not a manufacturers use only at walgreens. I hope this helps & u understand. I work for walgreens and sometimes this can be confusing:)

    • Amarspecial

How do you get the Decor Done Right home mailer and Organize in Style home mailer? Many of the mailers never mention how to sign-up to receive.

      • Carla C

        https://www.thepromotionaloffer.com/hmsdrtv/ (organize in style)
I googled “decor done right” but it sent me to the same link as the organize in style. I’m assuming they are the same coupon book??

I had to google it lol

      • Carra

Every once in a while, Proctor & Gamble offers a booklet of coupons. You just have to sign up for it and they mail it to you. Jenny always posts when these are available. You just have to keep your eye out for them.

    • RHaston2

Went to 4 different Walgreens in Chattanooga today to get extra papers Also 1 Bi-Lo store. None of the papers had the P & G flyer. The paper delivered to my house had it.

    • Laurel

I just got double register rewards (2- $2 RR) on the clorox wipes on sale. use the FB $1/1 Qs and it's a $1 money maker! Definitely worth the trip here in Simpsonville!

    • Heather

I am sooooooo ridiculously FED UP WITH WALGREENS! I will NEVER EVER EVER go back after today. You would think that an implemented storewide coupon policy would assist Walgreens staff in completely understanding how they work. I walked out tonight with nothing after spending an hour in the store carefully filling my cart with everything I needed, only to have every coupon denied at the register BY THE MANAGER. I am so furious, I cannot even form sentences correctly.

I had three transactions planned. The first was just the Vaseline lotion. Fine, easy peasy, everything was normal. I placed my second transaction on the counter, which was a jumbo pack of Pampers Easy Ups and a tub of Pampers wipes. I gave the cashier my coupons: $2 off when you buy any Pampers diapers or pants & any Pampers wipes, $0.50 off Pampers wipes from Wags book [store q], and the $5 RR from the Vaseline lotion. The first two coupons were fine, the RR beeped, the cashier and I couldn't figure out why. He tried to void the coupons and do them in a different order and they beeped each time on the last coupon. I thought *maybe* it was because I was using three coupons on two items, but one was a store coupon, and the cashier verified with me that a store Q doesn't really “count” towards the total number, so that shouldn't be a problem. The cashier was obviously pretty new, but he was extremely nice and agreed that the register should take all of the coupons. So, he calls the manager to the front. She comes up and just flippantly says “ugh, you have too many coupons; you need to get something else.” Whatever, fine, I wanted a Reese's cup anyway. I picked up one to give her. In the meantime, the NEW cashier is arguing with the MANAGER, that the policy plainly says that a store Q and manu Q can be used together on one item. He finally convinces her that it must be something else. She huffs and puffs and eventually starts looking at the receipt and says that the reason MUST be that the $2 coupon is only attaching the the wipes, so that, along with the $0.50 store q exceeds the value of the wipes, which were $2.49 originally. She told me that I'd HAVE to choose which coupon I would rather use because they can't exceed the value of the product. I asked her if she could adjust the value of the coupon and she looked at me like I was crazy and said, “NO, I FOLLOW POLICY AND WE CANNOT DO THAT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!!!!!” Um, excuse me? Exhibit A: Walgreens Coupon Policy. I grabbed it out of my binder and showed her the exactly wording of the policy. She basically acted like I invented the policy myself and said that there is no way that came from Walgreens corporate because they will never have a set coupon policy BECAUSE THEY DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE THAT RIP THEM OFF!!!! YES, TRUE STORY!! I KID YOU NOT, THE WOMAN SAID THAT TO ME!

So, I politely grabbed my coupons back off the counter and told her to refund the money for the Vaseline lotion because I would NOT return to Walgreens again. This is not the first time, and it won't be the last if I continue to shop there. I would much rather go to CVS and Rite Aid, where the employees are MUCH more friendly and don't accuse you of ripping them off while using coupons.

So, just so everyone knows: THE ANDERSON, SC HWY. 28 & ABBEVILLE HWY. WALGREENS IS THE WORST ON THE PLANET!

      • Marjie

I agree with you that would be a reason for you nor to want to shop at walgreens again.I work for walgreens and I agree so many of my co workers and even managers seem like they have something againt people that use coupons, when they shouldn't.I mean who wouldn't to save money.I am a coupon user and when I use them my co workers and managers are always amazed at how much money i save and always ask me to give them coupons or show them how to do the same thing and i do because i love helping people save money, but yet and still they sitll have this grudge against other customers that have them.I'm sorry you had this bad experience at walgreens but if you are ever in cordele stop by and ask for margie i will be glad to ring you up and i'm more than positive i can get your coupons to work.

        • Bonnie

          Cordele GA?

          • Marjie

            Yes

        • Heather

Thanks for all of the words of encouragement — I emailed Walgreens corporate and their customer service department last night and have not heard anything as of yet. I don't plan on going back to Walgreens for absolutely anything — glad to know I'm not the only person “ripping off” their stores, lol. :]

      • Caitlin

UGh walgreens is very frustrating ! i was going to ban them but then when i realized i can use the walgreens bucks at HT it is worth dealing with them for it and also because they dont haev a card so there isnt a real limit 1 per household like at riteaid ! they are so annoying and rude there !!

        • Anon

I recently moved away from an area where I coupon shopped at Publix, now I'm in Harris Teeter territory. I hadn't known that they take RR. Do you know their policy in regards to this? Specifically, does anyone know about HT's south of Charlotte?

          • Sheila

The one in Indian Land SC does. They say it's because a wags is close by.

They even doubled mine at the last super doubles.

      • Bevworth

i am here in St. Augustine, Florida and I won't set foot in any of our Walgreens because of exactly what u described. They are very difficult to deal with. I say stick with CVS.

      • Bonnie

        Same way in Tifton, GA!

        • Katgotsteve

          Bonnie

I never have any problems with the Tifton store, but the Sylvester store is a different story. it is hit or miss with coupons there. the tifton store has never given me a hassle.

        • Marjie

Try the one in Cordele and ask for Marjie!!!!!

      • alyw

I've had a manager tell me they could not adjust the coupon..but..they could adjust the price of the product making it 1 cent higher then the coupon, which worked when they did it.

        • Someday273

I called walgreens corp office for doing this practice… it is sooooo wrong. They are asking us the consumers to pay extra tax on items so that they have no issues when they are banking out at night. BIG no-no. If you find a walgreens doing this practice report it. They will call you back and apologize, and we even got a $50 gift card from the store manager himself. Walgreens corp is seriously taking note on this problem because of the legal problems it can create for them (class action lawsuit).

      • Missyscatchall

what a terrible ordeal!!! — Walgreens is just the pits. I only go in EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, if there is something that I need that is going to be absolutely free. Then turn around & spend the RR right away, b/c my trips there are so few & far between. Their Q policy stinks. My Wags, thankfully, does have nice workers, but still not worth the coupon hassle that you get there. — sorry you had such a bad trip.

      • A. K.

You really need to call corporate and let them know what happened with this manager….In a recession like this, with too many good people looking for jobs, there is NO reason for them to have such a horrible customer service employee working for them! I'll tell you that I RARELY venture into Wags for this very reason, I've had something similar happen, but Ive also had the same thing happen at CVS, too…there are bad apples in every bunch, unfortunately. So sorry about all the work/time you invested for nothing, I know how frustrating that is! Keep up the good shopping and please let them know what happened to you! That is completely unacceptable!

      • Shannon R.

I was reading the “how to get started” section of Walgreens on here, and it said to always give the cashier your RR first then your coupons. It is backwards, but that is what Jenny says to do to avoid your problem. I personally only buy the RR items and use them RR on buying photos for 10 cents when on sale (which is usually every week). This way I do not have any problems rolling them and I am buying something I would have normally bought anyhow. Good luck!

      • meme

I totally agree. When the manager sees me in there she starts scowling! Not one friendly word and no effort to see what the problem may be. Just buy another candy bar! And another!

Try the Wags on E. Greenville Street and the one at the corner of Whitehall and N. Main. They are really nice in those stores. Avoid Hwy. 24 (close to Food Lion). I was accused in very ugly terms of coupon fraud in that store. I was trying to exchange Dr. Scholl's shoe inserts for my husband. I had bought too small a pair. The manager and the cashier were almost yelling at me. They didn't want to give me the value of the coupons back. About that time my husband walked up with the replacement pair. They had been yelling so much they didn't let me explain I just wanted to exchange them. They got a little nicer after that but I should have had an apology from them. I was shaking when I left and felt abused.

On some (but not all) of the bottles of Vaseline lotion, there was a 'save $2 now' coupon stuck to the bottle. This makes it a $1 money maker!

    • I did the

$2 RR WYB (2) Pantene Restoratives

and used 2 of the 2$ coupons

on the receipt, it gave me 50% off the 2nd Pantene

      it rang up

      $4

      $4

      -2$ coupon

      -2$ coupon

      -2$ 50% off

      then gave me 2$ RR

      =free

Does anybody know, at Walgreens do the “in ad” coupons (price reducing codes) count as a coupon in my transaction? Do I need to add a filler item to use one? I think I'm catching on to how to plan my transactions, but I can't find this one written anywhere else. Thanks!

      • Dianne

No, it doesn't. You should not need a filler item if you want to use the in ad coupon with a Manufacturer's coupon (MQ for short).

      • Mandi

Nope, it is like a store coupon. No problem using both. I did it today on the tumblers. :-)

    • Denise

I know Walgreens can be frustrating but the one in Sumter, SC is really great. In fact the cash register wouldn't take my Hyland's coupon this morning. Manager called over. Went right through. He was so coupon friendly and even asked about Southern Savers. He then started bringing all sorts of things to the front to show me what would be free next week! I've even had the clerks in the store suggest several transactions to roll the Register Rewards.

      • Mcleodsc

        Which one in Sumter?

        • Denise

The one close to the BiLo.

      • meme

I may be driving to Sumter — from the northwest corner of SC! Just kidding, I'm not that couponing crazy.

      • Mcleodsc

Does the WAGS near Bi-Lo have the Register Rewards items marked with sales tags? I go to the one on Lafayette/Calhoun and it is totally frustrating finding the sales items when there are no tags. Lately I have had to ask for help in finding things also because they are in out of the way places. On Sunday the kid's cold med was hidden on the top shelf with the pain meds. Today they have put them on a rack near the door where they can be found. The vitamin C product was not with the other vitamins, but on a different aisle on the top shelf with the cough drops. Do you have a difficult time finding the sales items? Next week I will check out the WAGS near Bi-Lo even tho it is across town because I waste ALOT of time in the closest one looking for items.

Can any one tell me if u can use a reward to pay for a different reward item and stillget the reward for that item? I thought u could but was told nicely if i was expecting a reward after paying with a reward i would not get it! I thought u would not get it if u used it on the same reward! Am i correct? Thanks

      • Mandi

You absolutely can as long as it is not the same manufacturer. It gets a bit tricky sometimes but it is well worth it. I have rolled my Full Bar RR's into the Tilex and Pantene twice without any problems and vice versa.

        • Phyllis

Thanks so much! The cashier made me pay more out of pocket because they said i could not use a reward on another different reward and still get rewards! I thought that was why we were rolling the bucks was to save out of pocket!

    • L.K.M.

Why can’t I print out the .75 Axe coupon? The link is not working.

    • Meghan

Ok, so my Walgreens in Georgia did not print a RR for an item that was supposed to give one this week. The manager came over and said I could not get the RR because i had used MQ for the product and this was called “looping.” Anyone else heard of this?

      • A. K.

That does not sound right to me…..I would call corp. and check with them….never heard of that.

        • Meghan

thanks for all the responses. I had never heard of this either!

          • Boxer mom

We don't have control over what the catalina machine decides to do. It doesn't always print a register reward if the coupon you use to buy the product is as much as the item itself. Especially if you try using a register reward that printed after buying that same specific item. I can't speak for all the walgreens, but if you work with the management they will work with you.

            • Meghan

it was a $2 off q for the gillette razor that costs $9 and I was paying cash for the total (didn't use RR to pay) so I don't understand why it didn't print

      • Brooke

Is that their way of saying rolling? I don't understand Walgreen's. I mean do they want to go out of business???

      • Nikki

I do know that when you use a coupon that is the same value as the RR, it will sometimes not print the RR.

      • Marjie

I work at walgreens and have never heard of that

    • L.K.M.

I can't get the .75 Axe coupon to work. The link seems to be messed up.

    • RHW

I can't locate the Hyland's coupon. When I got to the link it only shows “Hyland's Calms Forté 4 Kids”

      • Meghan

        having the same problem here

      • Shannon R.

Having the same problem as well. Perhaps they took it off b/c of so many prints.

    • Brooke

Has anyone tried using an expired coupon at Walgreen's? Do they let you?

      • Sheila

No they don't or they didn't let me the other day and it came off of their product from the store.

        • Brooke

          Thanks!

      • Avalentine

one time when i was at my walgreens there was a expired coupon an a item that they had put on it. i did not see that it was expired till at the register the lady told me it was. i told her that it was ok i still needed the item but she gave it to me because they had it on there.

    • willjacklynn

I was wondering in the example for transaction 3 above if there was a reason for adding the $.13 tumbler other than just a good deal? Thanks!

      • Brooke

It's used as a filler item. RR's are considered coupons and Walgreen's doesn't allow more coupon than items in a transaction. Therefore you buy a really cheap filler item so that you don't have to pay much extra and you are still able to use all of your coupons.

        • willjacklynn

Ohhhh.. thanks Brooke.. I understand now..

    • Jsaver

Just got back from Walgreens a bit ago and they had Glade Reed diffusers for $2.29 on clearance. Use $2 q and get them for .29 each. Also had Febreeze Noticables refills for $1.49 – $1q = .49.

    • Theherbie17

my Walgreens was of the cough syrup in the ad on Sunday! They said that they don't get a truck til Saturday and it might not even come in… I even called to two other stores that are closest… they were out too! Frustrating! Just wanted to vent!

      • Couponj

I got a raincheck but the cashier said that they don't usually give RRs for their rainchecks, is that right?

        • Theherbie17

yeas, that's why I didn't get a raincheck… what is the point if you don't get RR?

    • Couponj

I am sooooooooo confused about my recent Walgreens trip and I'm hoping you can help me!

I had intended to buy the Cough & Cold but there were no more so I got a rain check but they weren't sure if I would get register rewards on the rain check – Hu?

So, I was left with the following items:

      2 – Emergen C

      2 – Tilex Mold & Mildew

1 – Oral B Tooth Brush Replacement heads

1 – Collace Tabs (great $10 rebate on these and with the $4 in store coupon 7.99 makes it a money maker)

      Transaction 1:

      2 Tilex

      1 Emergen C

Gave 2 $1/1 manuf coupons for the Tilex and a $1.50 register reward I had from last week.

No RRs printed – manager came over and voided transaction

3 coupons and 3 items – why wasn't this ok?

      Transaction 2:

      2 Tilex

Gave 2 $1/1 manuf coupons for the Tilex

No RRs printed – manager said it must be the manuf coupons but she would check the system… no errors… transaction voided. 2 coupons and 2 items – why didn't this work?

      Transaction 3:

      1 Emergen C

      1 Fast Break candy bar

      $1.50 RR from last week

No RRs printed – Manager said it was the RR and voided the transaction. She said my only other option was to mail in a claim for my missing RRs.

1 coupon and 2 items – why didn't this work?

      Transaction 4:

      1 Emergen C

      No coupons

      RR printed – YAY

      Transaction 5:

      1 Collace

1 $1/1 coupon from inside package I had

Manager said I could not use the 1.50 off RR from last week or the $3.50 off from Emergen C since I used the other coupon. I guess I needed a filler?

      Transaction 6:

      1 Emergen C

No coupons – paid with RR from Transaction 4, manager said another RR would not print but it was now 12:45AM and I just wanted out of the store.

      RR printed – HU??????

I left without my Tilex and my Oral B replacement heads (which I really need) because she said the RRs wouldn't print with my manufacturers coupons. So, I am completely confused. What am I doing wrong? Thank goodness the store was dead and the few customers that came in were directed to another register while the manager tried to work with me. She was really nice but it was really frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      • BoxerMom

There's supposed to be a way they can print out something you mail in to Catalina to get the register reward. I know its going out of the way, but the free items with register rewards sell fast. Especially when they don't get that much of the product in to begin with

    • JAYBIRD114BLUE

I had horrible experience with the WALGREEN's cashier yesterday when I went to buy the vaseline lotion. I bought the Vaseline lotion and a filler item, and I used $1 coupon and $5 RR from cough medicine. First of all, the cashier just gave me such terrible attitude with her demeanor and the tone of her voice. Then she tells me in an aggravated voice that the Vaseline RR will not print if I use the $5 RR on this deal. I informed her that I believe she's thinking about rolling RR on same item. She proceeded after rolling her eyes on me, and at the end the RR did print and she just said “oh well, guess it prints”. After that, I ask if she ring out the in-ad coupon for filler item that I pointed out to her at the beginning, and she look me with the same horrible attitude and tells me “Of course I did”. Then I found out when I was out the store and look at the receipt that she did not ring it up. I don't know why I even bother to go back and ask her to correct this since I spent more time waiting for the manager to fix it. I enter that WALGREENS feeling excited and happy to buy and save money, and the end I left WALGREENS feeling demoralized after being treated like a criminal. I really hope that WALGREENS takes some time to make sure that their employees from manager to cashiers is well informed and train about their coupon policies so that customer like you and me doesn't have to go through such horrible experience. WALGREENS should be grateful for every customer they get especially in this tough economic times.

      • BoxerMom

Not all WALGREENS are like that. Alot of them have really great employees. Have you tired shopping at a different Walgreens?

      • Papadia

I've had similar experiences with Walgreens. I don't shop there anymore. The CVS across the has well trained employees who have actually helped me with my couponing strategies.

If I ever go to Wags I checkout at the beauty counter… my Wags makes me feel like crap too.
