Good news for you folks in Georgia!  Zaycon Foods has a meat event coming up and they will start taking orders tonight at 5 pm. This is a great opportunity to get crazy cheap meat by buying in bulk!

You can order 93/7 ground beef at $3.29 lb or fresh boneless skinless chicken breasts at $1.79 lb (or both)

Your order will be 40 lbs of chicken or beef.  That’s a lot of chicken or beef for many of us, so go in and split it with a friend.  When you go to pick this up, be ready with freezer bags!  All of their meat comes straight from the processor, so you are getting fresh meat that will need to be individually packaged before freezing.

Zaycon Foods has 100% natural chicken and beef with no added hormones, additives, or artificial ingredients.  You can order more than 40 lbs if you want…

You still have a day or two to place your Florida orders, and summer meat sales should be starting in SC and AL soon.  Get signed up so you will get an email when a sale opens in your region.

This looks great! Tyson is so far away! Could we hear from someone who buys from them? Thanks!

      • Susanizanurse

I’ve bought chicken & bacon from them several times. The chicken is AWESOME. The breasts are HUGE, averaging 1# each. The bacon is AWESOME. It’s nicely cut and great flavor. I personally like the chicken far, FAR more than any I’ve bought from a store. It comes in 4 bags (10# each) that are sealed inside one large bag. You’ll have to bag it per your prefs once you get it home but it’s the only chicken I buy now.

Thank you! Have you tried the ground beef?

          • Colleen

I have tried the ground beef and it is awesome! It is super lean. I would say about 95% of the time I don’t have to poor any fat out of a pan or drain anything. I am super picky when it comes to ground beef. Anything with chewy bits or hard pieces I will not eat. I have ordered their beef twice and never ran into a gross piece!

            • Lookinup4

Thank you! That’s exactly what I wanted to hear, as I am very picky about that, too.

Ziploc bags??? Is the meat already packaged when you go to pick it up?? We are very interested and did register on their site…we just want to know the sanitary conditions involved w/ this process.

      • Jessica

I think the meat is packaged together all in 1 bag (maybe 2) but in much larger portions than what you would generally want to freeze together.  That is why she says to be ready with your bags.

I ordered chicken from them not too long ago.  It came in a box with 4 bags sealed full of chicken.  I used like a box and a half of ziploc vacuum bags, so have plenty on hand.  Be ready to package.  It took me over an hour to get it all portioned out and sealed.  But the chicken is great, so totally worth it!

The meat will be packaged in 4 air tight tubes (each about 10 lbs) that are in a cardboard box. The chicken is in 4 bags placed into one big bag and then in a cardboard box. I have purchased the meat and chicken several times and the sanitary conditions are top notch. You will need to package all the meat yourself. It is time consuming, but I would much rather save the money and do it myself :o).

    • I really want to buy from them, but it’s so dang hot out and I would have to drive roughly an hour home from the nearest pick up location :( I don’t want to transport meat that far. It was a nice thought I guess.

      • Susanizanurse

It’s an hour for me. I actually usually stop at Publix on my way home to shop some after I pick up my meat. The meat is in a box that I pack in a cooler. I’ve bought from them for a couple years and have never had an issue.

Do you think that Stockbridge is really at 3am or is that a typo?!

      • Kylievsu22

I saw that too! I sent them an email to confirm they really meant 3pm.

        • maconchip

Have you heard back from them?

Without signing up, is there a way to know when and where the pickup would be?

      • Engle7331

I made an account and could see the pick up locations without placing an order, but I did have to register

      Thanks for all the info!
Has anyone tried the ground beef?
And, how often do they come to the same area? Need to know that to know how much to order.
      Thanks!

Okay, just got the answer from Jen at Zaycon:
“Our goal is to reach each of our high demand cities once a month with
eventually establishing weekly routes.  My logistics team is working hard to
get to all of our customers.  The last time we were in GA was January.  We
are hoping that we will be back again in the fall after this month.”
To me, that means “not very often” because I don’t think I live in a “high demand city”. =)
I’m going for it! Thanks, Jenny!

Lowes has chicken for 1.77/ lb this week. I think I’ll just stock up there. But tHanks for the info.

    • maconchip

Nevermind, it is updated on the site.  Must have been a typo!!

    • Jessi

Just wanted to let everyone know that Sam’s Club actually has their chicken breasts for only $1.77/lb now, and tenders for $1.97/lb.  Just a heads up in case you don’t want to buy 40 lbs of meat!
