    • Ron

Wow! You did this tonight after the seminar! You work just to hard Jenny. Thanks!

    • Will the ECBs still print if you got them from a Caliber item and used them for a caliber item on the next transaction?

    • Damien Barber

I found out the other week that you cannot use the ECBs to cover tax… and actually just now figured out what happened. I bought something that came to a total of $4.97 (after coupons) and then totaled $5.67 after tax; I used a $5 ECB and my total jumped to $0.70 (when I figured it would be $0.67)… that is weird to me. I figured the ECBs would cover the 3 cents tax.

    • Shannon in ATL

Do you know if the trial size First Aid Kits will qualify for the J&J Red Cross deal?

    • Mandy

There is a maybelline coupon in this month’s Cosmo – $3.00 off

    • Melanie

How about combining the new Mead 5-star coupons with the ECB,spotted on hip2save.com? could help out with cash outlay.

    • kelli

Denise – yes, they should. as long as you aren’t over the limit of what you’ll get ECBs for.

    • kelli

Damien Barber – I still haven’t figured out the tax with ECBs thing. I thought that I had is partially figured out but I found out yesterday that I was wrong. I thought that if you paid the full total (before tax) with ECBs, you didn’t pay tax but I bought exactly $10 worth of stuff yesterday and gave them $10 ECBs, then I still owed 50 cents in tax.

    • kelli

Shannon in ATL – it says “get $2 extra bucks when you buy (2) Band-Aid Brand bandages 6-100 ct., J&J Red Cross products or any Neosporin product” and the little first aid kits are in the picture, so I would assume yes.

    • Patricia

      Thanks Jenny!

    • Rebekah

I am very new to this and am trying to figure out the ins and outs. Why does she say to ask them to ring it up for 9.94 when she has 10ECB’s? How does this help? Just trying to figure this out! Thanks!

    • I don’t think I will ever say it enough, YOU ROCK! I have decided to put “personal care” kits together for family members/friends for christmas….I am going to be saving TONS of cash (I have 3 nieces 21, 18, and 16…all of which will be appreciative, meaves more monsyfor them to spend on things they think are important LOL)….Plus I will make them for a couple of my girlfriends…so Thank You…with all the toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, pads/tampons, soap, air freshener, etc etc that I get free or close to free….Christmas will be so affordable!! HUGE HUGE HUG

    • Linda

I wanted to let everyone know about my experience with the Purex Complete 3-in-1 laundry sheets. I tried them out last time they were on BOGO and the sheet ended up caught in the washing machine’s drain pipe. (I have a front-loading machine.) I had to call out a repairman because I didn’t know that was what was wrong. I did call Purex to let them know, but I figured I would share this with you because it may take a long time for word to get around. Hopefully this info saves a lot of money on repairs for you folks that try these sheets out.

    • Beth

I am new to this and still trying to make sense…(was at the Dallas GA class last night)… On the buy listed below when I give 10 ECB why do I ask them to enter it up for $9.94??????
      (2) Paper Mate Pens .99 ea
      (2) CVS Composition Notebook $1.99 ea
      (2) Recycled School Box $1.99 ea
-$10 ECB (ask them to enter it for $9.94)
      Total Due: Nothing!
      Get Back: $9.94 ECB ($3.98, $3.98, $1.98)

Also I am confused about the buy listed below:
Am I getting 2 bottles for each B1G1 coupon making these each .20 ea???

Gatorade Thirst Quencher 32oz or Sobe Life Water 20oz $1.99
B1G1 Sobe Life Water printable (IE) or printable(FF) valid up to $1.59
(buy 2, use 1 makes it .20¢ ea)

sorry just a newbie trying to figure it all out….

    • Erin

Wow Linda! Thanks for the heads up! I was planning to buy these at Rite Aid and donate them. Now, I’m not so sure!

    • Catherine

I’ve been using the PUREX sheets and LOVE them. Thankfully I haven’t had the problem that Linda did, but will keep a watch out to make sure the sheet makes it through the washer. I love the convenience!

    • Sasha

      I noticed another deal.

Fruitopia or Viologieo Shampoo and Conditioner 1.99
CVS coupon in Reinventing Mag $1.00 off Fruitopia
CVS coupon in Reinventing Mag $1.00 off Viologieo

    • Erin

      Also- ***Coupon Alert***

In the August issue of SELF magazine (pg. 34) there is a $1 off manufacturer q (it says redeemable only at CVS?)
It is for: $1 off anything on this page (page 34) – that includes:
      – L’Oreal EverPure Shampoo & Conditioner
      – L’Oreal Infallible Never Fail Plumping Lip gloss
      – L’Oreal True Match Makeup

This would make the EverPure Shampoo & Conditioner deal above even better!
      q expires 8/31

    • ET

I LOVE the Purex 3-in-1 sheets but have not used them in my front-loader. My husband works out-of-town a lot and they are great for packing into his suitcase for doing his laundry while on the road. No spills! And I know we are saving money because if it were up to him to get the detergent he would go to the closest store to buy it and probably pay too much!

    • Kristen

Where do you get the Sobe Life Water B1G1 coupon?

    • The coupon for L’Oreal Deep Set Wrinkle ($5) is for the Deep Set Wrinkle Eye duo…does anybody know for sure if that product is included in the ECB deal? I had figured out the same scenario as Jenny but am wondering if the coupon will match they product.

    • Elainda

I’m hoping some of you wonderful people can help me remember something. I think I remember seeing a link in a post somewhere that had a spreadsheet to help with deals and stuff, but for the life of me I can’t remember where it was. Can someone help me out.

    • I’ve seen a spreadsheet like that at iheartcvs.com Is there one here on southernsavers too?

    • libby

How much are the johnson and johnson red cross sets?

    • Woo-hoo, the cheap Pepsi is back! DH will be so happy. I know where my $10 ECB from the week before is going!

    • Stephanie

Just to let some of you know about tax. Your ECBs can not pay for tax however coupons can (I believe). So you would have to figure it out exactly and pay with ECBs first and then give them your coupons.

#14 Beth~ She is asking that because her total BEFORE tax is 9.94. Since ECBs will not pay for tax it will beep so she wants them to just ring it up that way.

about the sobe. she said to use one coupon, buy two. The coupon said valid up to $1.59 and the product is 1.99 so you are paying the difference. You get both almost free since the sale is B1G1 and the coupon is B1G1.

      Rings up like this.
      -1.99 B1G1 sale
      -1.59 coupon
      = .40 oop

    • Samantha

the johnson and johnson first aid kits pictured in the ad are .99, so with a $1 off coupon they should be free. A money maker actually, if you buy two and get the $2 back.

    • libby

      thanks samantha

    • lynn

my cvs has not stocked the first aid kits since the last big sale a few weeks agao has any one eles had this problem/?

    • lynn

also they charge 1.00 T THE cvs here for the reinventing beauty mag .. i would lik to know if you all think it is worth it to buy it every time it come out?

    • lynn

the reason why you would ask them to enter it for 9.94 is that is whaat the total would be adnd it will beep and decline your 10.00 ecb unless you ask the to do that or they will tell you that you need to buy something eles hope that helps

    • Nick

Did anyone try and use the $5 off $25 coupon yet? I’m thinking I have a pretty good shot at it anyways since they overided the coupon the first time so it probably didn’t regester like it should have correctly.

    • Beth

Thanks for clarifying the 9.94 dilemma for me Stephanie & Lynn.
I wouldn’t have known what to do if it beeped and they said I had to buy something else….duh….

    • kelli

Lynn (#29) – I’ve had that problem with the first aid kits. I bought all that they had at the 2 stores in my town and I haven’t seen any on the shelves since. Hopefully they’ve gotten some in – they are in the ad… I’ll make them give me a rain check if they don’t have any.

    • Ginger

Elainda, I use a CVS Transaction Planner that I found on Bargain Briana

    • It doesn’t specify which Deep Set Wrinkle product. According to the Loreal website, the picture in the ad matches the picture of the Duo only, from what I see. There are no other products in that kind of tube. HTH!

    • Amanda

$5/$25 coupon. Is the $25 of the items before BOGO deals?

    • If you have the Readyfill coupon book you can use it like this…

      (1) Loreal Cleanser $5.99
      (1) L’Oreal Deep Set Repair $14.99
-$4 off facial skin products of $20 or more*
      -$1 off Cleanser
-$5 off Deep Set Wrinkle Repair
      Total Due: $10.98
Get Back: $10 ECB, makes it $.49 ea!!!!!!!!!!!

      Happy CVSing. ;-)

    • Brittany

Did anyone have difficulty accessing the Bic white out coupon that is under the B1G1 section? When I click on the link it takes me to coupons.com, but there isn’t a coupon for white out on that site. Thanks

    • Michelle

Thanks for the CVS Transaction Planner sheet Ginger!

    • Allison

Thanks for all your work this list is so helpful every week. I have told all my “frugal” friends about it. By the way the cashier at my cvs said that the ecbs will cover tax if you only buy one item at a time. I know that is a pain when you have a bunch, but on a slow week it might be something to consider. Thanks again!

    • Krystal

Brittany, the coupon should be a coupon for $1/2 Bic Stationery products, not just white out. I printed it out awhile back and I think it had a picture of some pens on it. It should work for White Out though. I would consider that a stationery product.

    • Jen

Can you combine ReadyFill Q’s with ECB?????

    • Nick

For the Sobe deal, can you use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO deal? How does that work???

    • You can use the BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale.

Last time CVS did this both items came out to be free, but this time you will have to pay a little since the coupon has a max value of $1.59 and CVS is charging $1.99. So you should pay .40 for both Sobe waters.

I’m looking forward to that deal since I’m now addicted to the stuff!

    • Angie

Jenny- I have a question. The CVS sale on the Swiffer refills @ 3.99 each seems like a good deal, especially when paired with the mail-in program for a rewards card program that Swiffer is running ( $5 reward card for a $10 purchase of Swiffer refills; $10 reward card for $20 purchase). As a newbie, I would love your opinion. I use a lot of Swiffer pads and liquid to keep up with my 3 y/o & 4 y/o.

    • Nick

Great, thanks Christie. Is there a limit to that offer? Can I print off more than 1 coupon?

Also what’s the rules on $ off 2 can I use two $X off 2 coupons on 2 products or will only one coupon work per two products since that’s what the coupon indicates.

Really appreciate all these comments and expertise.

    • Just wondering if you can use a $4 off $20 more than once. Meaning, I used one last week, can I use one again this week? Thank you!
      A work in progress

    • Nick

Angela, I have a $5/25 that I’m trying and will post my results, but last week it was forced as it came up not valid yet so don’t know if that will impact results.

    • sloan

I tried Sobe lifewater one time when it was B1G1 and my son loves it! Turns out, I now have 3 B1G1 Catalina coupons for Sobe that printed at Bloom when I bought Vitamin Waters (free with triple coupon). My question is – has anyone tried to use a catalina at CVS? Of course it says “Redeem at Bloom” at on it. I’m thinking it might just depend on my cashier. I have had a manf. coupon denied at Bi-lo because it had “Redeem at Publix” printed on it.

    • Jen

Can you combine the $4 off $20 ReadyFill Q with ECB?

    • Kam

I used a manf. coupon that said “redeem at Publix” at AC Moore one day. The cashier argued that it was a Publix coupon, but I showed her at the top where it said manf. coupon. She called the manager, and he ok’d it. They should accept it if it says manf. at the top. Good luck!

    • JACKIE

There is a Bic $1/2 coupon in the 8/9ss insert. Save yourself some ink.

    • TO JEN POST 51, YES it will work. I used it with ecb before.

    • a non e mouse

I have had a catalina that printed at Kroger for BOGO Sobe life water. I used it once at my local CVS asking prior to using it if it was okay since it had Kroger’s logo printed on it. The cashier said yes and I checked out without any problem getting two for free (since they were BOGO that week). A few weeks later, I had gotten the same identical catalina again at Krogers… waited for them to go on sale again at CVS but this time I was at another CVS location far from home. When I presented my Kroger catalina, the cashier said she could not take it. She even asked the manager when I said I had used it at my local CVS. Manager said no so I used it two days later again at my local CVS. Guess it depends on your stores policy.

    • Kathy

For anyone who doesn’t have a $5 off $25 coupon from CVS just go to cvs.com/readyfill and do a short quiz. You can print your coupon immediately.

    • Kelli –

How do I know if I am over the limit?

    • Kathy

Cindy, thanks for the GREAT Christmas idea! I am not working now and was worrying about paying for all those presents this year. I think a “personal care kit” will be so much more appreciated than some random item that they probably really don’t like or want. You are SUPER COOL!!!!
And Jenny, you are the most awesome girl in the world!!! You have changed my life.

    • Care packages are always a win. I sent my cousins packages for back-to-school and they enjoyed all the supplies and personal girly items!

I just got my first transaction 2nite with much success. Earphones, 2 filler papers, and 15 powerades for $3 and change OOP! I didnt like waiting for ECBs because they don’t print for the 3day items, so I will go back after midnite!

      Happy CVSing everyone!

    • Beth

About using Catalina’s at CVS: the store manager at my Columbia store told me their policy is if the register accepts it, they have to take it. So of course all catalina’s that are manuf. coupons will scan!

    • Erin

Just an FYI about the Purex 3 in 1…just made my CVS trip tonight, and they are $8.99 BOGO, not $5.99. I thought they scanned wrong at first, but then I came home and viewed the ad, and it says “starting @ $5.99”. If you use 2 $1 coupons it works out to be $3.49 each…not bad, but not as good as $1.99!

    • Blakely

Went CVSing tonight, got a Coupon book from pharmacy and was able to the use the $5/$20 for L’Oreal deal with the coupons, printed my $10 ECB which I then rolled over into the Pepsi deal. ECB did not print after 2nd transaction but cashier fixed it right up as soon as I asked about it. My ECB has language to the effect “we are sorry your ECB did not print the first time…” Got some great stuff for for about $12 OOP (I bought a couple of other clearance items) and $4ECB for next week. Bandaids were not marked yet at the store so I will go back for that deal later this week.

Thanks for ALL your hard work Jenny. You make saving money easy!

    • Ashley

Just wanted to share about my great trip tonight to the CVS in Lexington, SC. I did use some rain checks but after four transcations I spent 10.07 an 119.48 worth of product. Now, 8.36 was tax that my ECBs won’t pay for so I ended up really paying for under $2 worth on the actual products. I also have $14 dollars of ECBs for next week! Thanks to Jenny and other’s postings! WOOHOO :)

Jenny–How do we know if our store will print ECB on sat. night or if we have to wait until Sunday? I have a 24 hr store by me and also ones that close at 9. I’ve never tried to go on Sat.

    • Susan

beth, it depends on your cashier/store. I went tonight to my cvs and bought the earphones and the cashier said no ecb tonight and I said really because another cashier told me last week that they would print saturday night. He marked on my receipt and printed my ecb…so they are able, just some are not willing. And the catalina coupons…if you cut the part that says which store it came from then they won’t know the difference. Kroger sends me a booklet with coupons every couple of months and I just cut the Kroger part off and because it’s a mani, all stores will take them.

    • Isabel

I went to CVS Saturday around 8 PM and got this

      (10) johnson and johnson first aid kits .99
10 $1 off any johnson and johnson red cross product( it says excludes trial size but they work)
      Pay Tax only
      Got back $10 ECB
Big money maker and i got the coupons right next to the band aid it also have a Q for $5 off on any johnson and johnson ultraheal product and by the way there is one ultraheal that is $4.99but there were just a couple of them anyway i have to drive to 2 stores to get the 10 kits.
And even better in my recipe doesn’t say limit reached.
Hope it help somebody. This is my first post i always read the blog but never post.
      Bye bye

    • Took last week off, but this was a decent week to come back. I started with $10.48 ECB. I did the pens, 1 mini composition book, and the headphones; then the Loreal deal; and then the Pepsis. Altogether I paid about $8 OOP, and have $4 ECB to roll. So I got a decent haul for only $4!

My CVS wasn’t well stocked on all the school supplies except the pens, but they had plenty of everything else including half a dozen of the headphones (in a locked case).

    • Michelle

I thought lots of people would be at CVS at 8 when it opened but no one, just me. I got the 2 pens, 2 pencil boxes, 2 paper, toilet paper, and headphones and with ECB only paid 1.99 OOP and got $18 ECB for next time :) Thanks for all you do to help us save money!

    • Rachel

For everyone wanting to do the Five Star deal just be aware that although the prices do say starting at $3.19 I found nothing cheaper then $4.89 and that was a small 2 subject notebook. If you want a binder they are at least $10.

Also if you have one of the stores that lets you shop the next week’s deals on Saturday night they will have to print out the ECB manually. They just won’t automatically print on the receipt. Just make sure to remind them and have the ad because they need the numbers in parentheses with each ECB ad.

    • kelli

Denise (#57) – it will say at the bottom of your receipt if you have… it will say what the item(s) are and then it will say “limit reached” under it.

    • Michelle #68 same here…just returned from 2 stores and I was the only person in both. I was albe to get everything on my list for this week and I have $6 inj ECBs for next week!

    • Zandra

If you are planning to use a $4/$20 coupon, the total is AFTER the BOGO deal. The free items do not count toward your total.

    • Amber

Just got back from CVS. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if you buy (2) 99 cent Johnson & Johnson mini-first aid kits, you get back $2 ECBs making them free! They were hanging on an end cap.

      Today I bought:
      4 12 packs Pepsi
      4 Sobe Waters
      2 Gatorades
      2 filler papers
      2 packs of pens
      2 Maybelline lipsticks
      2 lollipops
2 J&J Mini First Aid kits

      Q’s used:
      4 off 20
      2 Sobe Qs
      6.98 in ECBs

$9 and some change OOP with $4.98 ECBS to roll. WOOT!

    • seacoastmom

I did the J&J Travel Size deal this morning at the S’ville Dochester/Bacon’s Bridge CVS. There were 6 left at 8:30 am. PLUS I got Crest White Strips, the Loreal Cleansers & Deep Set Wrinkle Cream, a TON of Back to school (there was lots stocked this morning!) some candy splurges for my 8 year old “helper” and picked up photos that had been developed, and got an extra paper. I started with $16 ECB’s and had 2 $5/25 coupons and I paid about $7.50 OOP. I did 3 transactions. No ECB’s left :@(

I know I might have been able to do better, I forgot my $3 Whitestrips coupon! Argh! But I’m super happy because *mommy* gets to be wrinkle-free with a bright white smile AND all my Girl Scouts will get a First Aid kit so they can “Be Prepared” …all for $7.50!! It was about $93 worth of stuff.

    • seacoastmom

Oh, and I mean 6 left AFTER I did my deal. Thanks Jenny, Your lists for CVS ROCK!

    • Stephanie

Where is thw AMC offer? I bought a card and didnt get anything. Then I couldnt find it in the ad.

    • kelli

seacoastmom – that’s a great idea for the first aid kits! I’ve been stocking up on them because they’ve been free… but I didn’t know what to do with them. I’m a Girl Scout leader and I’m sure the girls in my troop would love a little first aid kit. :)

Just wanted to warn everyone, if your trying to use the $1 off J&J coupons to buy the first aid kits, you might have trouble… I’ve had trouble the main store I shop at every time I’ve tried to use them. The other store in my town has no problem with them but isn’t as well stocked. I could only find 6 total in the 2 stores (5 in the first, 1 in the second). I got to use my $4/$20 though, so with that and my $6 J&J coupons, I made $10 today! yay!

    • What part of CVS has the $1 first aid kits? Haven’t found them by band aid aisle. Thanks

    • val

Where is everyone finding the first aid kits for .99 cents. Maybe I didn’t look good enough, but my store only had large kits. Are they with the bandaids or the actual kits? Thanks.

    • Tiffani

Jenny, you can also use the $4/$20 skin care coupon in the autorefill coupon booklet on the loreal products to reduce your oop.

the first aid kits are in the travel section at my store.

    • seacoastmom

I found them in the trial-sized section. In my CVS its at the back of the store at the end of a makeup aisle.

    • kelli

Mary and val – they are in the travel section of the 2 store I go to.

    • seacoastmom

Oh, & if you really need some kits, I’ve gotten them at Publix as well I think they are 99 cents there. No ECB’s but still free :@)

    • If your store has TG Lee Milk go to the TG Lee Dairy Website for $1.00 off coupon making the milk 79 cents a gallon after coupons and ECBs. I also think the limit may be more than 1 (as the add states). I bought milk this morning and the bottom of my receipt does not say offer limit reached it says I need to purchase 1 gallon to earn the ECB.

    • Colleen

I didn’t do as well as I had hoped at CVS but still got some things I needed for at lot less. I searched everywhere for the J&J travel first aid; finally found them with help in the Trial size section and they were out. Will the coupon still work on those as it says exclude trial size? She wrote me a raincheck but I needed them more for my scenario than the actual item:) So I had to pay $2 more than planned and then my Extra Care card was fraudulent! They worked it all out for me but it took forever and I had to get a new card. I guess the employees sometimes use them for their own benefit.
I spent about $13, ended up with $3 ECBs when I expected alot more- my own fault on that one- but did get 4 big pantene shampoo/conditioners, the ear phones for my son for school, pens and a mini- comp. for $10 or so.

    • holly

Anyone that would like to give me an idea for the $9ECB’s that I have….I am new to this and went to CVS last night to start my ECB’s. Not sure how to roll these over with whatg is on sale right now. I would love some suggestions or help! I am kind of confused with this whole ECB thing! Thank You so much!

    • holly if you have already done your shopping, you can save them for next weeks sale.

    • holly

well the products that i bought yesterday were for last weeks ad. I guess the only thing that I can think of that I would buy would be the L’oreal cream and cleanser..I do have the coupons for both…do you think that I should buy that use my $9ECB’s and get $10ECB’s back? Maybe because I am a blonde I am confused! Thanks for your help! I think that I need a CVS buddy!

    • Tiffani

      #1 philips headphones 6.99
      (2) filler paper .99 ea
      (2) sobe water
use BOGO sobe coupon, $9ECB, $.37oop, get back $8.97ECB
#2 loreal deep wrinkle cream 14.99
      loreal cleanser 5.99
use $4/$20 skin care coupon from autofill booklet
      -$5 wrinkle cream
      -$1 loreal cleanser
      $8.97ECB, $1.01oop, get back $10ECB

    • Marie

No luck at my CVS this morning! :( I got there about 40 minutes after they opened and pretty much everything was gone for ECBs! Ended up walking out with $5 in ECB’s. Oh well!

    • Lori

I’m a newbie too! This may have been asked already, but on the spend $15 get $5 ECB, is that before the coupons or after? So if I buy $15 worth b4 coupons & then use $3 worth of coupons, will that still count for $15 spent??

    • Kim

CVS brand tampons (10-count) were an ‘unadvertised’ free after ECB item for me today in Jackson, Mississippi……$1.89 like a couple weeks back. The tag says 8/16 thru 8/22.

    • Heather

For those interested in the J&J deals with the first aid kits…some of the CVS’s have them both where the band-aids are, and either on an end-cap OR in the travel-size items. I’ve found them at different places depending on the store. Have fun!

and, for Jenny – I tell people about you and your site every week…you are such a blessing! One of the managers at Bi-Lo was SUPER excited to learn about your site…I talked to her after saving $115 last night (spending $34). :0) Thanks for all you do.

    • Kristen

The CVS Auto Refill Coupon book has 4 off 20 for facial skin products. Use that will the Loreal skin cream and it should bring it down to $5.98

    • can anyone answer a question for me? I did 3 transactions 2 at one store and one at another. On my second transaction I used a $4 off of $20 coupon then gave them my $5 off loreal and my $1 off cleanser then tried to pay with bonus bucks from my 1st transaction it took some of them then wouldn’t allow me to use the rest, cashier said it came up manual coupon limit reached. It wasn’t because the bucks were more than the balance. Went to another one one the way home, same thing, I used a$5off of $25 coupon used some of my bucks then it wouldn’t take the rest. Does anyone know why. Is it the number of times I used my bucks or is it the $amount limit reached? I’ve never had that happen and had to pay oop. Just wanted to know so I can avoid it in the future

    • elaine

I was able to use the $5 Loreal Deep Wrinkle Eye Duo coupon on the Loreal Deep Wrinkle night creme. The clerk scanned the coupon and it worked just fine!! Yippee!!

    • Algebra

I haven’t seen the Physician’s formula mascara in our CVS ad
Have anyone of you had that problem

    • JennyM

You won’t be able to give your ECB’s away, they are only good with your CVS card….it is FREE money so you can just go purchase whatever you want with them or save them until next week and purchase another ECB deal. I always have ECB’s in my wallet–consider yourself luck :)

    • Shay957

I just got back from CVS I bought
      Loreal wrinkle 14.99
      Loreal cleanser 5.99

    • lynn

I went to CVS this morning around 9:30am, I got the Loreal cream & cleanser, Jack Links chicken nuggets. Used 5/25.00, & was also able to use the 4/20.00 for skin care, 5.00 & 1.00 off Loreal, used free coupon for the Jack links(August All You) only paid 1.18 for tax. Used ECB’s. I asked the cashier if I could use both of the CVS Coupons & he said he would try. I was very happy when they both worked. So everyone at least try it. Helps out a lot. Thanks for all the tips & advise. Jenny I love your site. Have told many, many people about your wonderful site.

    • Anita

At Publix in Chattanooga (East Brainerd Rd. location) in the front coupon rack there is a small booklet by FSA that says “Over $14.00 in savings” on the front. There is a $1.00 off Bandaid coupon inside, so grab two. Expires 9/05/09 :)

    • Debra

I have a question, I’m fairly new to this ecb’s thing. I was wondering can I use several of my extra care bucks on 1 transaction? Any help would be appreciated.

      • Jenny

Think of your ECB just like your cash, you can use as many as you need to pay your total as long as you don’t use more than your total due.

    • orlando e.

Just wanted to say you do a great job.My main store i shop at is Bi-Lo and for the last few weeks the prices on southern savers has not been on target with bi-lo prices. It seems to be poultry and meat.I was just curious if this happens a lot?

    • Kevin

Can anyone send me the website with the Johnson and Johnson coupon. If someone will I can help on how to make coupons work. I work for CVS

    • I am so excited about my hair dye deal! I got 3 boxes of Garnier hair dye for technically $5! I used $5 in ECB, did the deal where you spend $15, you get back $5 in ECB! Oh, and I did buy some little croc-type shoes while I was there for my little one. They were 40% off. So, I bought 3 boxes of hair dye (usually $8.99 each at CVS) and the shoes for $12 and some change. I got back $5 in ECB. Not too shabby! Thanks!!!! Now, I don’t need hair dye for about 6 months!

    • Jennifer

Has anyone found the Mini comp. books that are free after Excarebucks….How big are they I am having trouble locating them…are they like 5*7….??? I have asked at 2 CVS and both cashiers were clueless as to which ones were on sale.

    • Jennifer (#106) My CVS manager said they were substituting the $2.99 comp notebooks. He manually gave me 2 $2.00 ECBs, but I did have to pay more than I anticipated. It wasn’t terrible though.

    • julia

Does anyone know what products of revlon are $1.99?

    • Amanda

    • Shannon in ATL

I found one mini comp book, very little, about 4 X 3…pocket size

    • val

Thanks to everyone who mentioned where to find the first aid kits. I went in today and they were with the travel size items. There was only one left, so I got it and used my $1.00 off coupon. I will be returning Friday, after they have restocked, and will try to get the other one for the deal.

    • Shanna

Yes, I think the Loreal deal could be done twice, looking at my receipt. Has anyone tried it yet?

    • janet

CVS tampons were FREE (after ECBs) at my store, too. Thanks, KIM #92.

    • Angela

Had a question about post #46 that is quoted below:

      August 14th, 2009 at 9:01 pm
Jenny- I have a question. The CVS sale on the Swiffer refills @ 3.99 each seems like a good deal, especially when paired with the mail-in program for a rewards card program that Swiffer is running ( $5 reward card for a $10 purchase of Swiffer refills; $10 reward card for $20 purchase). As a newbie, I would love your opinion. I use a lot of Swiffer pads and liquid to keep up with my 3 y/o & 4 y/o.

Where do you find infor on the swiffer reward Card? I use swiffer wet jet. Does it work for those too?

    • Rebecca

My CVS here in Florence told me that they do not do Rainchecks on the 3 day sale items….. has anyone else had this problem? it is quite frustrating? If no-one else is having it– what should I do? Call corporate while at CVS??

    • Erin

    • Erin

Can I use a Rite Aid coupon at CVS? Will they accept it as a “competitor” coupon?

    • Gloria Mrazek

can the lorell deal be done more than one time

    • JenniferP

I received a coupon with my receipt Sunday for $3 off a $15 purchase on any sunblock. The cashier told me that the Neutrogena sunblock had a deal if you spend $15 you get $5 EB, so here is my deal:

      (2)Neut spray sunblocks ($9.49 each)
      -$3/15 (printed with receipt Sunday)
-$2 off Neut sunblock (found in booklet next to sunblock)
      -$2 off Neut sunblock
      -$11.96 EB’s

      Total due .02+tax $1.71
Total OOP: $1.73 with $5 EB from deal!

    • tonya

i went today to get some rainchecks i had for previous items w/ ecbs…the cashier rang them up (slowly) and the register did not print my ecbs. i asked “aren’t i supposed to get the ecbs that were advertised with these deals?” and she very abrubtly said “NO!, you’re already getting them for next to nothing!”. embarrased and tail tucked, i left, unhappy.

i thought when you got the raincheck…you also got the ecbs that were advertised with item. am i wrong?

    • Erin

      Tonya –

You are correct. You should have received the ECB’s. I’ve done this for the past 3 weeks with no problems. I would call/ email CVS and they will most likely correct it for you.

For future reference – the cashier will have to “force” the ECB’s after your transaction including the raincheck is finished. For example, I used my raincheck for the Grip Pens $.99 w. $.99 ECB. I paid for the pens and then after the transaction was finished, the clerk scanned the receipt and forced the ECBs for the raincheck.

I’ve done this a two different CVS stores.

    • Alyssa

      Tonya #124
      You are correct.
They are supposed to print the ECBs after they ring up the items (at the sale price). It is a separate, manual transaction. The lower portion of the raincheck has a code for the cashier to enter. Below that it states “Extra Bucks will be issued upon Raincheck redemption”. Maybe you can go back and talk to the manager to correct and reissue your ECBs. Hope this helps you get the ECBs you are due :)

    • Jennifer

The tampons don’t have a tag on them at more store in Greenville SC. Does anybody know if the Extracare bucks will print if it isn’t advertised in your store? Thanks!

    • kelli

Tonya (#124) – I’ve also never had a problem with the two stores in my town forcing the register to print the ECBs at the end of the transaction. I’ve had them tell me a few times to make sure that I remind them when I hand them the raincheck to buy the stuff, but I’ve never had a problem getting them to print them. I would call the number of the back of your card. They will probably just add them to your card to print out the next time you buy stuff. Or you could go talk to the manager. Good luck!

    • Meghan

Love this website, Thanks for the help saving money! I live in New york and was wondering if anyone knew of a website that had some of the grocery stores sales? Thanks!

    • Shannon

I am new to CVS’ing thanks to being directed to this wonderful blog. Unfortunately, my local store doesn’t always have the products that are advertised with ECB or they have limited amounts making it difficult to really get the best deal. At any rate I did manage to pay $9.96 OOP for some items on Sunday and get back $11.99 in ECB so I think I’m doing ok for a beginner. I do have a rule that I won’t buy something I have no use for or cannot use (I have some strange chemical allergies that prevent me from using many of the regular skin/hair care products available) so often I find that the really good deals or moneymakers are items that go against my rules but I still have hopes of one day paying nothing at the counter and getting ECBs back!!

    • Anne Marie

I just went to a different CVS than I normally shop and was disappointed. I bought 6 of the Johnson and Johnson first aid kits and 2 of the pens. I handed the cashier my 6 J&J coupons and he said it says only one per purchase, but I’ll give you 3. So I asked if he would take 3 off, and he said, we’ll I am already helping you out, so… I went ahead and bought them because, but wan’t happy. I paid 5.40 and got back 7.98 in ECB’s so I guess I can’t complain too much.

    • Jennifer

Rebecca, in Florence…call corporate. They ARE supposed to issue rain checks even for 3-day sale items. I had the same thing happen, and corporate mailed me rain checks for everything I wasn’t able to get. GOOD LUCK :)

CVS today had trial size toothpaste (can’t remember the brand) up front in a display that was advertised for .01 with your CVS card, one per person.

I need a patient, kind person to take a minute to help me – please! :) I do not shop at CVS (Greenville, SC area) so I have no ECB’s available. This is my first shopping trip and here’s the best deal I can come up with on my own. If you can find me a better deal to start out with, please let me know!

I have the $5 off $25 purchase coupon along with $5 off L’Oreal RevitaLift Deep-Set Wrinkle Eye Duo and $1 off any L’Oreal product.

      L’Oreal Cleanser $5.99

      PaperMate Pens (2) $1.98
      Filler item to equal $25.00
      -$5 Wrinkle
      -$1 Cleanser
      -$5 total purchase
      Total Due: $14.00 OOP
      Get Back: $14.00 ECB

      THANK YOU!

Alena, I just got back from CVS in Chattanooga. They were out of filler paper, but had the recycled boxes, $1.98 each, getting $1.98 back in ECB thru today. Go to the L’Oreal website and print off a $5 coupon for the Wrinkle, and a $1 coupon for the cleanser to bring OOP down.

      You’re doing great!

    • Alena

      Thank you Janet!

yeah, you were lucky. My CVS wouldn’t even take the coupons, said it was trial size.

Does anyone know what time on Saturday the Dallas, GA store begins printing ECB for the Sunday sale? I would assume it is midnight, but it seems as if some people are able to shop earlier than that.

    • Holly

Purex Complete 3-in-1 20ct are an outrageous $8.99 at my CVS with the coupons it comes out to about $3.50 each.

Is anyone else having trouble with the “Buy 2 L’Oreal participating Products get a FREE tote bag by mail in rebate”. I can’t see the form to print. It keeps saying I don’t have the latest Flash Player installed. But I clicked the link and installed it, restarted and everything on two different computers and the message is still there and I don’t see the form. Any ideas??

    • Anna

      I was so lucky yesterday.

      i bought:
      3 boxes of cereal
      blink eye drops
      index cards
      ice breaker gum
and some random eyeliner on clearance for a quarter!

the total was about $20,I had a $10 off $20 (grand opening coupon) plus my $9.99 ECb. i paid $0.38 OOP!!!! not only that, but I received $14 back in ECB.
totally helps out because I was just at the dentist and found out i need to replace two fillings, get a crown, and one new filling for $1175!

      *DEAL ALERT*

I was at my CVS here in Atlanta yesterday and they have a big display in the toothpaste aisle for Arm & Hammer Toothpaste. The siplay hsa travel size toothpaste for .01 this week (sale ends 8/22). I used it as a filler item to get me to an even $25.00 so I could use my $5 off $25 coupon. It is limit one per customer.

    • Susie

I have a question…today I went to CVS and bought 3 bottles of the Herbal Essences shampoo, since it says on here that the limit is 5 for the $2 ECB deal. However, only 1 $2 ECB printed when it rang up. Can anyone explain how this works? Was the limit actually only 1 or do I have to do it in 3 different transactions? Thanks, Susie

    • ET

I was so looking forward to getting the deal on the Purex 3-in-1, but they rang up BOGO at $8.99 instead of $5.99! This would come out to $3.49 each with the two coupons and that didn’t seem like such a good deal to me. Did anyone have any luck getting them at the $5.99 price?

    • joshoply

ARe these deals only local to where you live? I tried the L’oreal and J&J in New York ccity on august 22nd and they did not work. Our circular did not have these listed either nor were the items on sale. Are these localized deals??
