CVS Weekly Ad 9/6-9/12

on 9.4.2009 at 1:39am

This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure here.

These deals start this Sunday.  CVS is looking pretty good to me next week.  I like lots of deals under a $1, of course I would prefer free, but $1 for a product normally $7 is still pretty good!  Please share if you see anything I missed.

If you have a store that is not a 24 hour store you can start shopping Saturday night at 6pm.  From 6pm till close both ads will be running in their system.  One of the scenarios in the “Other Deals” section includes an overlap deal.

  • You can use a CVS store coupon and a manufacturer coupon together.
  • For B1G1 deals you must buy 2 to get the sale price.

If you are new to CVS read the getting started guide.

My last transaction will either be the Dove Chocolates deals or the Rembrandt Whitening deal.  I don’t need the Rembrandt whitening but I’ve always wanted to try one of them and $5 might be the cheapest I ever see it!

Looks like a good week even though there aren’t a lot of frees…

    • Scott

Not seeing the $3 off Schick in my 8/16 SS

    • Scott

I dont see the $1 off Schick in the 8/23 SS insert either.

    • Val

I have a coupon for a free Oral B toothbrush when you purchase Crest toothpaste and a Scope mouth wash. Thought this would work great with the ECB deals.

    • Becky

Scott: it might be regional. Jenny trys to put up what some of the Southeast newspapers get for coupons so you might want to check her links out and see if your newspaper is listed and then check the coupons listed under your newspaper.

      Hope that helps.

    • Becky

Do the Osteo Bi-Flex count as either a vitamin product (and use the CVS $2/10) or diet/nutrition product (use CVS $4/20, I may have to add another nutrition item to get the total to $20)?

    • Teresa

I have that coupon to, but mine is only good at Target.

    • Val

I noticed that too, now that you mention it, but thankfully my cvs takes competitor coupons.

    • Val

Becky – I am wanting to do the same thing as you, so hopefully the vitamin coupon will work. My husband takes that stuff everyday, so it is too good of a deal to pass up.

    • Elizabeth

Does any one know how much the Clean and Clear Advantage Acne control Kit usually goes for at CVS? There’s a $5 coupon you can print for it on the Clean and Clear website, so I’m wondering if that makes it a good deal at CVS this week. Thanks!

      • Jenny

I always go to the cvs.com site and search for the item and that will give you a general guideline. If you see it on sale then plan on it being the full retail price.

    • Aymie

      My plan:

      (2) deals of bogo Schick quattro razors.
      (3) Clean and clear products.

      Total due: $34.98 plus tax.

      Use- $3 ECB’s
      (4) $4 off Schick coupons
      (2) $2 off Clean and clear coupons
      (1) $1 off Clean and clear coupon
      (1) $4 off $20 purchase

      New total- $6.98 and earn $5 ECB’s!!

    • Elizabeth

Thanks Jenny! I appreciate your help. :)

    • I got a $5 off $15 Skin Care Purchase Extra care coupon. Do you think they’ll let the dove deodarant go as skin care? If so, I can get them for 50 cents each! I think I’ll give it a try.

    • Sandra

I was in my CVS in Richmond VA area yesterday, and they had a special (not advertised) deal on Always pads- a double pack for $6 and you get $3 ECB. I couldn’t find a coupon anywhere that was current, but it was still a good deal I thought! I used some of my ECB from earlier in the week to pay for it, so I didn’t have to put much OOP.

    • Teia

I have used the rembrandt 2 hr white and it sucks! Don’t waste your money.

    • Chelsea

      My Plan:
      Black head eraser 15.99
Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser Refill Pack 5.59

Use: (1) $4 off of 20 any facial skin products (CVS Ready Fill)
(1)-$5 off Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser September Seventeen Magazine
(2)-$2 off any Clean & Clear product

      Total due: $8.58
(use any ECBs you might have)
Get back : $5 ECBs (makes it 3.58 total)

    • the clean and clear kits are $19.99

    • jennifer

Where do you find the kmart total savings booklet?

    • Anne Marie

I just got a couple coupons in the mail from CVS. 2 for $25 gift cards with any new or transferred prescription and 1 for $4 off any $20 purchase. Yay!

    • libby

Approx. how much are the bogo neutragena products?

    • Suzie

Where can i print $3 razor coupon?

    • jennifer

does anyone know where to find the kmart total savings booklet? Is it in the store?

    • Melissa

I just got a CVS e-mail for $5.00 off $30 good thru Labor Day. Yeah!
I’m new to this, but I just love your website. Thank you.

    • Kelly

The “Buy one covergirl foundation, get one Covergirl face product free” coupon is very vague. Would a “face product” include any sort of makeup or specifically foundation/powder? Also, does it have to be of equal or lesser value? It doesn’t say on the coupon. Thanks for any thoughts on this coupon.

    • Shiloh Kennedy

yes, the Kmart Savings booklets are in the store. I was handed one in the check out line…but you can probably grab one from customer service.

    • Shiloh Kennedy

Does anyone know how much they charge for the flu shot? The ad says they’ll give a $100 coupon book if you get it there !!!

    • Tracie

      Schick Intuition Deal @ Target:

Just went to Target and found the 3 pack of Intuition refills on sale for $9.30, these are $10.99 at my CVS. I used the $4 Schick Target Store coupon with the $4 Many coupon and got the refills for $1.30. The sale at Target ends tomorrow. Just an alternative for those of you who do not have 2 of the $4 Many coups for the CVS BOGO sale next week.

    • Debra

I have a question I was reading above that you can start shopping saturday nights at 6PM if your store isn’t open 24 hours for the next week, do you still get your extra care bucks then? I usually go on sundays but lately I’ve been having trouble finding some of the deals, so I thought maybe that I would try on saturday night?

    • Leslie

If I buy 3 clean and clear @4.99, my total spent will be 14.97…does anyone know if this will still give you the $5 ECB.

I’ve seen this before and it seems like if it is within pennies then maybe it gives it to you…they seem to have this happen a lot when ECBs are on whole dollar amounts and their prices are X.99 but I’ve never tried it.

    • Val

      #28 Tracie –

Where did you find the Target Schick Coupon? I did not see it on Hot Coupon world and was just curious. Thanks

    • jennifer

      Thanks Shiloh!

    • Kandrea

The Rembrandt and Roc sites are having “technical difficulties” and won’t let me register or print the coupons…GRRR! Anyone else experiencing problems?

    • Carol

I stopped by my local CVS in Easley SC this morning. The women’s Schick Quatro had the sale tag on it already and even though the tag stated a sale date beginning 9-6 they sold it to me at the B1G1 deal….this was great as there were not many available for tomorrow. The men’s razors however were still showing the current price. Heading back tonite though to check just in case. These are going to go fast

    • Carol

Oh and btw I also popped into Walgreens and picked up some Manf. coupons for Neutrogena make up that they had at the beauty counter. These were *not* Walgreens specific so will make good use of them tomorrow at CVS also….

    • Jenn

My L’oreal coupon from RP 8/30 says “redeemable only at Walgreens”, but is a manufacturer coupon. Will CVS still take this??

    • Jenn

one more thing to get the 4 ECB’s with the L’oreal lip deal, is that today Saturday, or next Saturday??

I bought the Rembrandt kit and in the box it states “If you are not satisfied with the results – send the UPC along with the reciept for a FULL refund!!!”

    • Honey

Leslie, it won’t be enough. You have to spend $15. I think that’s how they get ya…

    • Shannon in ATL

      Summer Merchandise is 75% off!

    • Diane in ATL

I can’t find the Osteo Bi-flex coupon in my 8/02 RP. Bummer! Do you know if I could buy 2 Rembrandt whitening kits in 2 different transactions and still get the ECB’s? That way I could use 2 of the $4 off $20 coupons from readyfill. Will that work?

    • Samantha

I went to CVS on Central Ave in Summerville tonight. The cashier told me that she “didn’t know who was telling people that the ECB deals start at 6pm but they don’t”. Just passing that along. I tried to buy the L’oreal lipstick and it did not ring up B1G1. This was around 6:30 pm.

    • Val

Went to my CVS in Athens, AL tonight and the cheapest Osteo Bi Flex they have is 21.99. I was hoping to find the $15.99 one. Maybe another location will have it.

    • The best deal I have ever made at CVS:

    • Kim

My at my CVS the ecbs do printout if it is just pennies away. I asked the manager once and she said if it didnt she would make them print for me but they printed on their own.
Has anyone found the 6 off Osteo Bio Flex in the AJC? Or any other Osteo Bio Flex Coupon? Or does someone have 2 they would like to give away or trade for something?

    • #44 Hit the wrong key, sorry.
Bought: Pantene Hair Spray, Sensodyne tooth paste, 4 bars CVS soap. Used 2.00 in Q’s; had ECB’s for 7.99. Tax was .66 and oop: .15 cents. Yeah!!!! and even left with another $3.00 in ECB’s.

    • Michelle

I’m not going to get a flu shot just to get coupons. No way, uh-huh, sorry….. LOL!

    • Chris

FYI….My CVS girl told me tonite that summer stuff goes 90% off tomorrow.

    • Cherise

Where can I find the PG $120 rebate savings booklet???? Thanks

    • Rebekka

Something strange happened to me at CVS today.

I had read this posting about the weekly ad for 9/6-9/12, and had gotten mixed up, thinking it was for THIS week. I went to CVS and found the deals I wanted (the crest w/scope, schick disposables, and covergirl foundation). Except for the Covergirl, I got the expected ECB’s for the crest and schick deals plus a $3 off $15, even though in the weekly circular for 8/30-9/5 (today), those deals don’t exist. Not sure what happened, but I got lucky!

    • Jessica

We don’t have CVS in Spring Hope, but we drove into Knightdale to try to catch a few deals. The Schick Quattro cartridges were already at the BOGO price, but the clerk would not let me use but one coupon! Now I’m out one coupon & didn’t get the “good” deal. I have found CVS to be very frustrating!

    • CJ

I thought there was an Aussie coupon out here recently. Anyone know where it might be?

    • kelli

Leslie (#30) – I had ECBs print once when it was within cents.

    • Carol

I did the Loreal deal at CVS last night with no problem and got the 4.00 in ECB’s….@CJ, as far as Aussie coupons I did find them on a few bottles at Publix and at Target (1.00 off)…also at K-mart I located a “huge” stack of Jergens 1.00 off coupons in the health and beauty section. My plan today is in several transactions that follow starting with the $4.00 ECB from the Loreal deal last night:

      #1: Nails at 3.89
Use 4.00 ECB from last night
Total: FREE, Get back 4.00 ECB

      #2: 1 Carefree Ultra Protection Pads @$3.79
Use: Raincheck from a couple of weeks back
      Use: 3.89 ECB
Total Free, Get back 3.79 (I have had stores round this up to $4.00)

      #3: 2 John Freida Hair Care Products @$5.00 ($10.00)
      2 Secrets @$2.50/ea ($5.00)
      Use: CVS $3.00 off $15.00
Use: $3.00 off 2 John Freida Hair Products (have a $1.00 off 1 John Freida that I will attempt to use also)
      Use 2 – $2.00 off any Secret
      Use $3.79 ECB
Total: either FREE or approx 1.00 OOP, Get back $1.00 ECB

      #4: 1 Aussie Product @$2.99
      Use: 1 – $1.00 off Aussie
      Use: $1.00 ECB
      OOP: $ .99, Get back $2.00 ECB

      #5: 2 Aussie’s @$2.99
      Use 2 – $1.00 off Aussie
      Use $2.00 ECB
      OOP: 1.98, Get back 4.00 ECB’s

#6: 1 John Freida @5.00 or buy 1 Jergens @$6.00 if this deal can use Jergens & John Freida combined to equal $15.00 (I will lose 1.00 in ECB’s otherwise)
Use 1/$1.00 John Freida or Jergens
      Use 4.00 ECB
Total is FREE, Get back $5.00 ECBs

Am hoping the Jergens, John Freida, Biore etc., buy $15.00 get $5.00 can be used combining the products to hit $15.00 but either way I leave OOP around $4-$6.00 dollars, $5.00 ECB’s and a whole lotta stuff, most of which my 17 yr old daughter will be pleased with lol..

If any mathmatical genius out there sees a better plan to combine and conquer let me know.

    • Kimberly

I’m having issues with the ROC coupon not printing. :(

    • has anyone tried the loreal deal today(sunday) to get 4 ecb?

      • Jenny

The 4 ECB on L’Oreal ended last night. Sorry.

    • RaeBerr

FYI- Just went to CVS (Atlanta Area) and all summer toys were 90% off; for some reason house brand kitty litter also rang up 90% off (.69 for cat litter!)…sandals were also included in this!

    • Jenn

My CVS manager refused to take my $4/20, and both $4 off and $2 off schick for the BOGO, said they were “one per customer”….. Grrr…. Most everyting I bought today is going back.

    • Sam

I just got back from buying:
      Schick Triple Slimline Women’s Razor – 6.99 – 3.00 Q
      1 Crest with Scope – 3.49 – 0.75 Q
      2 Healthy Choice dinners – 5.00 – 2.00 Q
      1 Simply Asia bowl – 1.50 – 1.00 Q
      2 Kleenex, BOGO – 2.39 – 1.00 Q
      1 Tropicana OJ – 2.99, no Q
      subtotal: 22.36
      – 4.00/20.00 CVS Q
-6.99 – ECB from the Glade candle last week
      -3.00 Schick Q
      -.75 Crest Q
      -2.00/2 Healthy Choice Q
      -.50 Simply Asia
      -1.00/2 Kleenex
paid 4.12 + tax using gift card

      got 4.00 + 2.50 ECB

Then I decided to splurge on an 18-gallon Sterlite container, which my wife wants for fabric/yarn storage. They were 20% off, so I got one using the 4.00 ECB and a few bucks. Probably could have done better at Walmart or Target on the bin, but the ECB were burning a hole in my pocket :)

This was probably my best ever… thanks, Jen, for showing me the way.

    • Sam

sorry – got excited & double-inputted those qs above. just ignore the minuses after each item at top, please.

    • Kelly

I bought $69.63 worth of things from CVS today, paid $6.65 and got 7 in ECBs for next trip!! That is 95% saved this morning and when you add in the $7 ECB it was a money maker! (the Nutrashield sunscreen was an amazing deal! Reg. Priced $12.99, on sale for $6.99 with a $5 c.)

    • Elizabeth

Is the Limit 1 per transaction or per customer?

    • Emily

I had a great run at my CVS last night. The ad for this week was already in the computer, and everything except the Cover Girl worked fine. The manager said when there was an outgoing ad it took precedence over the next week’s add (b1g1 vs. 4.99 get 2 ECB for the foundation). The manager fixed it quickly, though. Just watch out for future weeks when there are overlapping items week to week. Also, my CVS lets me use the 5/25 printed coupon, the 4/20 face, and the 4/20 purchase with my transactions. It’s great!!

    • Tara

Does anybody know where to get the $5 off $15 Skin Care coupon posted by Zonya on September 4th, 2009 at 11:00 am

If anyone has this coupon can you please post it

Jenn #58 – the cashier at my CVS would also not let me use 2 $4.00 off coupons on the BOGO Schick razor cartridges.

Very frustrating when the policies vary so much. Those of you planning to get really cheap razors using 2 coupons on the BOGO should beware that this may not be allowed.

    • Colleen

My best ever at CVS. Got:

      (2) Aussie shampoo
      1 schick quattro
1 schick refill for the above razor
      1 schick disposables

      4/20 readyfill
      (2) 1 off aussie (from two Aussies bottlesI bought during the Kroger deal)
      (2) 4 off schick quattro razors and/or refill
      (1) 3 off schick disposable

Then there was a peelie on something- the disposable razors I think, that the cashier took off first, then one of my $4 ones wouldn’t go through, and she kept trying to hand it back to me, but the manager was up there, so I appealed to him and he said to push it through. It wasn’t til I left and looked at my receipt and saw an extra dollar off, that I figured out why it didn’t want to go through. I would have asked to put the $1 back on to use the $4 but as it was, i got both off.
Spent .46 before tax of course for all of that! Even the expected $1.46 would have been great savings!

    • Colleen

Oh- and I used $5 ECBs from last week and got $8 back!

    • Amber

CVS trip went great today. Small load this week, but I’m happy.

      1st purchase
1 Neutragena Glow Sheers Makeup $12.99
      1 Neutragena Lip Shimmer $7.99 (FREE, B1G1)
      Subtotal: $20.98
      – (2) $3 off coupons
      – $7 ECBs
      $.71 oop

(Drats! Could I have used my $4 off $20 here? Also, I scanned my card last so I could use the (2) $3 off q’s. Did it matter, or would it have taken the q’s anyway?)

      2nd purchase
      1 Aussie Shampoo $2.99
      1 Aussie Conditioner $2.99
      1 Crest Toothpaste $3.49
      – $.50 Crest coupon
      – $9 ECBs
      $.50 oop
      Got back $6.50 ECBs

Does anybody know where to get the $5 off $15 Skin Care coupon posted by Zonya on September 4th, 2009 at 11:00 am

If anyone has this coupon can you please post it

tara – this prints out either at the register or the price scanner machine when you scan your CVS card.
I got one today when I was in CVS.

Summer clearance is 90% off in Downtown Columbia CVS locations!
Bubbles and kites and shoes and sunglasses… all less than $1

    • Colleen I used the same aussie coupons, i had 4 so i used 3 today! My OOP was a little high this week but my savings were well over 90%, plus i got the clean & clear i wanted. I enjoy cvsing but i am going to give it a break for a while, i am going to use my $7 ecbs to buy so of the clearance though.

    • Wendy

I’m psyched! I did the L’Oreal lipstick deal last night but did it one better. The Infallable lipstick is my favorite and I’ve been waiting for a month for a really good deal.

A week ago I printed off 2-$2.00 off coupons for the Infallable lipsticks and with the B1G1 Free, the $4ECB plus the $4off$20 deal I ended up paying $.47 OOP for two lipsticks that normally cost $11.99 a piece!!

The cashiers at my Atlanta store know me and are very nice. At first she didn’t want to take my $4off$20 coupon without first scanning my CVS card, but I asked her to just try it for me, and she did. She even said, “Wow, you know how to work it.” I think she thought it wouldn’t let her scan it without the card first.

CVS rocks!! In my experience, they are the easiest to work with of all the pharmacies.

    • Holly

      My deals for the day:

      Coupons Used:
$6.99 ECB from Glade last week
      $3.00 Schick Disposable
$4 – Schick Razor or Refill
$2 – Schick Razor or Refill
      Total before tax – $1.40
      ECB’s Received – $2.50 Scope, $3.00 Schick Razors

      2 Aussie Shampoos – $5.98
      1 Aussie Conditioner – $2.99

      $2.50 ECB from Scope
      $3 ECB from Schick
Buy 1 CG Foundation, get a face product free
Total: Should have been FREE but cashier said that even though coupon said CG face product was free, they MUST take the lesser of the 2 prices as FREE, so my total before tax was $4.70 instead.. GRRR (next time I’ll know)
      ECB’s Received – $6 Aussie, $2 CG

    • dawn

Can someone please explain why you wouldn’t want your card scanned first? I’m a little sketchy on this.

    • Elaine

Today at CVS, my cashier would not let me use both CG coupons and said my free item could not cost more than the cost of the $4.99 foundation, it did not matter that I had 2 CG products! or that the coupon said any CG face product! that really put a hole in my shopping spree, so I had to regroup. After I got home, my daughter reminded me that my neice is the district manager for that store and maybe I should give her a call, even though that is not the store I usually shop at. I only went to the Hartsville, SC store because I wanted to go to the Hartsville Wallgreens, they are rreally nice there and got a couple of good deals!

    • Alena

I am new to “couponing” so I was thrilled with my CVS purchases tonight. Had to share.

      (1) Cover Girl Foundation – $4.99
      (1) Cover Girl Powder – $6.19
      (3) Clean & Clear products @ $5.49 each – $16.47

      $1 off Cover Girl Product
Buy Cover Girl foundation and get face product free
      (3) $2 off Clean & Clear
$4 off $20 facial CVS coupon in AutoFill
$10 ECB saved from L’Oreal sale few weeks ago

I paid a whopping 1 cent out of pocket and then got back $7 in ECB’s. For some reason, the $10 ECB I used took off the tax as well. Funny thing is, I don’t wear make-up. Maybe this is my cue to start!

    • Had a decent run; I had $13.99 ECBs to use so I got the Schick disposables, the Covergirl, an Aussie hair product (no coupon) and the Quilted Northern b/c we needed it. One thing that’s messing me up is the tax; I tallied up about $5.75 out of pocket but had to pay almost $3 in tax. Any ideas on how to better calculate that so my ECBs will cover it?

FYI on the Covergirl coupons (and for Kelly #25), my CVS would not let me use the $1 off AND the Get Face Product FREE wyb Foundation. When she scanned the $1 off, the Free coupon kept beeping that there were too many items.

As for the VALUE of the FREE coupon, it seems to max out at the non-sale price of the foundation, if that’s what you use it for. I chose a Line Smoothing product that rang up $7.99, and the coupon maxed out at $6.19 (the non-sale foundation price). So if you want your freebie to really be free, keep it under the orig foundation price.

    • caroline

Great site. Plan to share with friends from the Bahamas who shop often in the U.S as well as have children at college here

    • Ann

RaeBerr #57 – what side of Atlanta do you shop on? I went to 3 different stores in the Smyrna/Mableton area and all summer clearance merchandise was still %75 off. .69 cents for cat litter is an awesome deal, would like to take advantage of that. I wonder why the prices vary so much in the same area?

    • Nancy

I called three of the cvs to confirm summer price to be 90 % off. Two out of the three said yes. But the Chair will not be on sale. I am going for an early morning run with 27 ecbs. wish me luck.

    • Tracie

      Val #31-

The $4 target coupon was in the 8/30 (SS) of the AJC. The sale is over at Target now, but it’s still a good deal even with the razors full price.

    • Amanda

I went to the Mills Ave store in Greenville yesterday. The summer stuff was 90% off, but there was hardly anything left. I did get some good deals. They had to call the manager over about the CG coupon and he tried to say that they could ring the foundation up as free (instead of the $12.99 product I picked up). I was just about to throw in the towel and leave but I pushed it a little farther and said that there was no maximum value given on the coupon and the product I selected was even pictured on the coupon. He eventually relented and entered the coupon as $12.99. Ended up spending $.48 before tax. I still don’t understand why they won’t take ECB to cover tax…

    • Kelly

Does anyone in the Charleston area know of a CVS with the magical coupon printing machine that everyone always talks about? I haven’t been able to find one yet. Thanks!

    • Holly

      Kelly –

Please post if you find one! I’m in the Chas area too and haven’t seen one yet.

For those who still have coupons left, Target has them on sale for 9.99

    • C

I bought 4 packs of Schick cartridges and used 4 coupons, no problems at all.

also used the b1g1 covergirl coupon, the coupon states b1 foundation g1 product free so when she scanned it it took off the foundation price (it was cheaper), i politely said, no, it’s the other product that is free and the cashier kindly changed it and took off 6.49 (the price of the other product)…the coupon doesn’t say b1g1 of anything, it specifically says b1 foundation, g1 product free, so just tell the cashier which product is free, she kindly changed for me, maybe i just have a great cvs :)

    • Sheila

Has anyone received the cvs caremark extra care health card in the mail? It said you can link your regular card to it. Just wondering if anyone else got one.

    • Sarah J

where do you get cvs booklets and walgreens booklets? i had one from january of this year and have YET to find them again! where are they located in the stores?

    • Terri

I bought 2 packages of diapers for 11.99 ea.
      I used $4 off $20
      (2) $2 off diaper coups
      ECBS -$6.99, -3.00, -3.00

I thought it would be only about $3.25 OOP, but it ended up being $4.84
Can someone explain how the tax works with ECBS.

    • Jenn

Just shopped at CVS for the CoverGirl deal. Got the $4.99 foundation and used the B1G1 to get the CG Smoothers lipstick combo pack ($9.99) for free. Also got the $1 off coupon so only paid $3.11 with a $2 in ECB. On top of all that, I got $2 ECB for my next trip! Thanks for the tip!

    • Covergirl–

I used my coupon to get the foundation, but then I got another foundation that was priced at 15.99. I did this one so my total was $20 and used my 4 off of 20 makeup/facial products. I told the manager that i wanted the 15.99 off. She said the general rule of thumb is that the cheaper one should be free, but I told her that it wasn’t written on the coupon, so she could not hold me to a rule that is not on the coupon. She said that she would do it “one time” but she did it for my boyfriend behind me in line with the same deal. With my 4 dollars off I got it all free with 2 dollars ECBs each deal. :) This was in Lexington, SC. I know the manager earlier on in the day had no problem using it. Hope it helps!

    • Oh, and I used the $1 off coupon too.

    • Amy

      Terri #89
When I’m doing a cvs run I follow the following order

      $/$$ off cvs Q
      then Manf. Q’s

Man Q’s will typically go toward tax but it has been my experience in both Illinois and Tennessee that ECB’s will not.

    • Tanya

This site is the BOMB! Thanks

    • mel

anyone know where you can get 5 off 25 or 5 off 25 coupon?? also are they still giving the auto fill coupon books out at the pharmacy?

    • caroline

thanks for the tips. I have started collecting coupons from Aug 2009.
I have not seen the cover girl coupon. I will check my coupons again. I did not get this pass weekend coupons. My local papers did not have the redplum or ss. I usually look through them before buying. could not find any at my coffee shop. I am in New York so this may be different in Sc

    • .Jennifer

those of you having trouble with your cover girl free coupons…

I’m not sure if there is anything that my cashier did differently, but I bought a little $4.XX foundation and got a macara and eyeliner bonus pack for free and I got to use my $1 coupon on the foundation.

    • beth

I’m bummed after my cvs trip, didn’t get ECB for the l’oreal lipsticks and went from have $16 ecb down to $2ecb left for next week, but I did get a pack of diapers too but was hoping for the $4 ecb from L’oreal. Oh well, you win some you lose some I suppose.

    • Amanda K

      Kelly & Holly

I have found 2 places with the machines both are on hwy 78.
The 1st one use to be a kerr drug but is now a cvs that is located before you get to trident hospital & the 2nd one is where ladson road & hwy 78 meet, I think that there is a piggly wiggly across the road.

    • Rachel

      mel #95:

The $5/$25 might be the ReadyFill coupon from cvs.com. You have to take a short quiz, but it doesn’t how many you get right.

I would call CVSs in your area first to see if there are any remaining coupon books. Ask for the pharmacy. If you get one, you need to use the coupons this week…they expire Saturday (9/12)!

    • Nikki

I saw a new commerical for CVS this morning that said if you ask for a review of your prescriptions (in efforts to save you more money) there is a $100 coupon book given to you. Any one heard about it yet or tried it out?

    • Michelle

My local Publix had coupons out for BOGO Lipton Green Tea 12 packs and at CVS they are on sale for $5.99 with your card. Plus you get $1.00 ECB back on each 12 pack up to $5.00. I bought six 12 packs, got three on them FREE, and got $5.00 ECB’s. I used a $4 off of $20 diet/nutrition coupon and paid 8.97 total. With the ECB’s given they basically cost $3.97 for all SIX. Now…that is an amazing deal!! Thanks!!

    • Went to CVS over lunch and could not find the Schick slim triple razors or the Lifelock DVD starter kit and tried to use my Coppertone sunscreen coupon but the Nutrashield does not appear to be on sale here. I DID get three Aussie shampoos and conditioner and I had a $1/1 Q that I used. So I used ECB’s from last week and only had to pay 81 cents OOP (which was all sales tax) I might have them price check the Nutrashield for me and see if it rings up $6.99

    • Laura

Does anyone know where I can find the Biore coupon? The link above says I’ve reached the limit, even though I’ve never printed it. I would love to find this coupon somewhere. Thanks!

    • Amy C-

For everyone who couldn’t find the Schick coupon- mine was in the 8/23 SS. Good luck!

    • Lynn

I just got a card in the mail from CVS for 20% off entire purchase for Sat 9/12 or Sun 9/13!! It says “Fall Sale” 20% off for our top customers. Did anyone else get this?

    • kelli

I did pretty good at CVS today. I calculated everything perfectly! :)
      I got:

      (4) Schick Quattro 4 pack refills ($10.99 each)
      (3) Aussie Shampoo/Conditioners ($2.99 each)
      (2) Scope mouthwash ($3.49 each)
(2)Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers ($2.50 each)
      – (2) $4/$20
      – (4) $4 off Schick Quattro
      – (2) $2 off Healthy Choice
      – $14.93 ECBs
Total out of pocket was $1.36, all tax, and I got back $11 in ECBs!
      My subtotal was ZERO!

My total before sales and coupons was $75.59!

    • RaeBerr

I went to the CVS on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs, Ga;…FYI the “flyer” tags the were on the shelf still said 75% off-kitty litter was listed as priced 1.75; but everything rang up 90%….

SO I BOUGHT SOME EDWARD SINGLES FOR 17 EACH. SINCE OUR PAPER DIDN’T HAVE THE 1 DOLLAR OFF 1. IF anyone has them and not use them i can trade for some other one.

    • Lynn

Ok, so I am new to this….I did the Cover Girl deal last night and bought the pressed powder and then wanted the mineral veil to be my “FREE”. I used the Cover Girl BOGO free and tried to use the $1 off Cover Girl with it. They told me i could not use the $1 off. once I reviewed my receipt at home, i realized that they did not give me the mineral veil for free, it seems that they applied it to the lower cost of the two (the powder). What is the coupon etiquette on going back and asking for an adjustment? Do they do that? I ended up using too many ECB and did not have enough left to buy the batteries that I needed. Will they adjust purchase or is it inappropriate to ask???? Thanks in advance!!

    • caroline

      To Lyn.
I did 5 returns today. One from 2 weeks ago. 2 returns each at two stores. I had read in this website about stepping to the back of the line so as not to hold up the line. so I did that at one store. At the other store I waited at the side. Reasons for waiting- I wanted to buy the items again but needed to cancel to maximize my benefit.
CVS did not return the coupons (CVS pharmacy book coupons, not even the manufacturers coupons. At one store I received cash for all coupons and at the other store the coupons was placed on cvs money card. Returns worked well for me because I gained having cash in hand from the manufacturer. Quite a bit of cash today. I practiced the coupon ettiquette that I had learnt here a few weeks prior. I thanked the sales persons for their patience a few times.

    • caroline

      To Lyn,
I must mention that after sometime the sales reps understood what I was doing. I think both CVS is getting an understanding of what I am doing. At one CVS one of the sales reps is curious. She leans over to the other cashier to find out how much I paid for 2 suncreens. No doubt the young reps will tell their parents who will really appreciate using coupons

    • Megan

Wow I am a true believer. I had the BEST week. I got $209.51 in retail products for $25.62 oop, and I also got a $25 gift card for new script and 5 left in ECB for next week. So I made money this week. The big oop was the copay for the scrip. 12 schick quattro, 1 schick slim (got a bonus pack),6 neutrogrena prod., 4 covergirl. Not a bad run this week.

    • Kellie

Just had to tell this, I went to one of my local CVSs to get the deals there for the razors, and the covergirl makeup, you are not going to believe how the manager treated me. When the the cashier was having trouble getting the covergirl coupon to work he had to step in. He kept trying to say it was for the wrong amount because the face product was more than the foundation. I had him read the coupon to see that it said buy foundation get face product free. There was no mention of what the money value or either item (i am sure you know what coup. I am talking about). He went on to tell me he thought what I was doing was wrong and that I was costing them money. Can you believe that. I will never go to that store again. Thank goodness I have the other CVS that I usually go to, and they are always so nice. Just had to vent.

    • Samantha

I had frustrations with the covergirl deal this weekend too. At the Tallahassee store I used the cashier told me I could not use the $1 off covergirl coupon with the B1G1 coupon, and then only gave me $4.99 off the cost of my “free” item. It was 7.99 so I had to pay the difference out of pocket. On top of that, the register beeped when I tried to use 3 Dove chocolate coupons for my 3 bags of Dove chocolate. She said I could only use one per transaction, even though I know that is not the case. The upshot is I ended up spending about $8 out of pocket that I had not intended to spend. So aggravating.

    • Sarah

Are the Dove chocolate insert coupons Target coupons? These are the only ones that I could find! If so, did you have any trouble using them? Thanks!!

    • katydid

To calculate sales tax use this formula (from iheartcvs.com):

      [{1 – (cvs coupon total/total of merchandise)} x taxable total ] x your tax rate

      Use coupons in this order:
      $/$$ off cvs Q
      then manf. Q’s

Be careful not to get a negative amount at the end!! By using this method I had oop’s $.04 and $.00 last week.

    • Chris

CVS on Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, SC has band-aids for 15 cents.

    • Michelle

FYI the doctor schools shoe inserts are on sale this week for 9.99 so if you usethe 10.00 coupon (not sure what date came ut in) they are free

    • Givemeagooddeal

      Samantha #115:

Is it the CVS on West Tennessee St? I’ve had a few problems with a particular cashier at that store.

    • Lindsey

      What brand, size? With Q?

    • kelli

I had a great experience as CVS today with the CoverGirl deal. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work out but I decided to try getting everything for mostly free. I bought:

      (1) CoverGirl Clean liquid foundation – $4.99
      (1) CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless – $15.99
      – $4/$20
      – (1) $1 off any CoverGirl product
      – (1) free face item with foundation purchase
total out of pocket: $.84 (all tax)
      total savings was $22.19

The computer was trying to take off the $4.99 and I asked about it. I pointed out what the coupon said and the cashier said that she couldn’t do anything. I asked to talk to the manager and she called him to the front. I showed him the coupon and told him that since there’s no limit on it, I should be able to get the $15.99 item for free. He read the coupon and agreed. He told the cashier to override it. :)

      I don’t even wear makeup… maybe I’ll start now.

    • kelli

I forgot to mention that I got the $2 ECBs back with that deal. :)

    • Sheila

My cvs would only use the b1g1 coupon on the $4.99 covergirl even with the manager, oh well it was still a good deal. We have 2 stores on the opposite end of town and the best one is completely out of the way for me the one today acts like you’re taking money out of their pocket everytime you use a coupon or ecb. Looks like I’m gonna have to start going to the other one anyway.

    • kelli

I’ve got a problem and I was wondering if anyone else has ever had the same problem…

The last 5 numbers are my CVS card are 78198. Usually it shows up on my receipts as ********8198 but it used to show up as ********7819. I noticed when I originally got my card that it did that but it never seemed to be an issue and when I (out of curiosity) asked about it, no one knew why. At some point it changed though (I didn’t even notice it until the problem) and started showing up as 8198. It’s been doing this for a while but twice it reverted back to 7819. The first time I didn’t even realize it was a problem. The cashier at the store that I was at said that the computer thought it was for the wrong card but she just pushed it through with no problem or question. I only assume that the reason why it didn’t work was because the numbers were wrong, since she didn’t give it back to me, I don’t know for sure.

The other one with the wrong numbers on it I still have, it’s for $8! I even remember exactly when I got it. It was for the Blink Tears. I had a raincheck for them and when it got printed out. It’s just so strange to me. I know that I bought them with my card. Just to make sure I checked the numbers on my mom’s card and my fiance’s card… of course they don’t match because I’m sure that I used my card. I mean, really… what’s the likelihood of me having ECBs for a card that’s number is so close to mine but isn’t mine.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had a problem like this? The manager of my store wrote on them, extending the date and instructing the cashier to enter it manually, but I still can’t figure out what happened.

    • kelli

Sorry for that long rambling comment last night. I kept not being able to call the 1-800 number at a time where there was a person to talk to and I was getting really frustrated with it all.

I finally did get to speak with someone today who was extremely helpful. She told me that the ECBs that I had were in fact for my card, which I already knew. She also told me that the reason why the number prints off differently is based on the way that you give them your information:

If you use your card, it picks up all of the numbers and puts the last 4 on the receipt
If you give them your phone number, it’ll drop the last number and pick up the next one, so that there are 4 numbers on the receipt

The thing that doesn’t make sense is that I’ve never once given my phone number instead of my card. My guess is that it has something to do with them having to scan the receipt to make the ECBs from the raincheck print out. I don’t really know…. I’m just glad to know that I’m not totally losing my mind and that it is actually my $8 ECBs. :)

    • Sheila

I had the exact same thing happen to me and customer service said to tear up the $4.00ecb with the missing number on it and I would be sent another one in my email. Have not seen it yet, been two weeks and numerous phone calls.

    • kelli

Sheila – I’m glad that I’m not the only one that this has happened to. The thing that really annoys me is that the cashier just flat our refused to scan the ECB. I didn’t push it and I really should have because it turns out that it would’ve worked. The thing that I think is really weird about it is that the manager of my store said that she’d never seen anything like that before and she was 100% sure that there was no way that it would scan if I was using my card. The woman I spoke to on the phone said that it was 100% my ECB. I plan to tell the manager the next time I see her.

I just tried the deal with the Olay and the cashier and the manager refused despite agreeing that the coupon didn’t forbid it :(
