For pasta night, you can add about a half a pound of browned ground beef to the sauce to make meat sauce. I also have added a whole pound to the sauce but then added in a 15 oz can of plain sauce and it makes a ton. Classico is our favorite jar sauce.

Does anyone do menu planning based on BiLo or Harris Teeter sales and coupon matchups?

Try e-mealz.com. Dave Ramsey endorses. Is a website that for $15/quarter provides menus, recipes, and detailed, organized shopping list. I do not follow the menus exactly. I save mine in files grouped by main ingredient to make it easier for me to put together menu for the week based on what I need to get out of freezer or what was on sale at the store that week. That way no surprises for anyone about what we are having. And no take-out orders by the other members of the household who like to say,”I didn't know what to fix…” or “how to fix”…when the item and instructions are right there! No take-out means savings!

I am brand new to Southern Savers, but fortunately was able to attend 2 of Jenny's workshops last week! We have been using E-Mealz for several months now and it's very complicated for me to try and make a shopping list now based off of Southern Savers. Do you have any suggestions? I have actually been wondering if it would make sense to cancel E-Mealz and just use the ideas from here.

I made Chicken and Orzo soup (recipe found on back of Ronzoni orzo pasta box that is B1G1) and Krusteaz Coffee Cake for dessert tonight (4 Servings). Most of my ingredients were B1G1 at Publix this and last week. I calculated it out, and I paid around $8 for EVERYTHING!

I made the egglplant casserole as a side for dinner last night…delicious! Tasted very much like eggplant parm, except much healthier! Thank you for the recipe! I also subbed the roma tomotoes in for canned tomatoes and it worked well. Will be making this again!
