Does Office Depot take manufactures coupons?

      • MomMe

I am wondering the same thing. I have a toddler ( any many many toys) so the battery deal would be great for us using the energizer coupon in paper. Im calling the store in the morning to find out and will post what they say…..

        • sheba18

Thanks, I'll wait for your answer.

          • MomMe

okay! I called my local store in Charleston SC and she said they will take manufacture coupons and printable coupons, as well as competitor coupons, such as best buy, staples etc.

There is a coupon available from the paper SS 3/28 for $1/1 and a $1/1 printable from target under household. They said they will take the target coupon :)

He also said that the reward you get back will still be $12.99, since the coupon is extra.

here is the price match policy… they will match prices up to 14 days after the purchase! I couldnt find anything further on official coupon policies.

I am not very familiar with office depots customer service, but the store in Charleston seemed friendly and eager for business. But thats not to say we might have some trouble with the coupons.

howdoes the office depot program work? I had no idea there was a program for them too!!!

    • seagull7

How often do they have these freebies? They had some last week – do you think that there will be new ones each week? Is there any rhyme or reason to it?

    • kottesen

Thanks! I just ordered a bunch of stuff and plan on using the rewards cards I get to buy the ink I always need anyway.

    • kottesen

Thanks! I just ordered a bunch of stuff and plan on spending the rewards card on the ink that I always need. Man, that ink is expensive!

      • threeturkeez

You can get ink cartridges super cheap on eBay. I use the seller inkrecyclers… check em out! :)

    • kbribelin

Is it just on the items listed?

    • liszt79

Do you have to do anything else, or does the rewards card just come in the mail. i bought the labeler.

      • tcpanz

As long as you had them scan your Worklife Rewards card, it should just come in the mail but you won't see it for several months because it will come with the rewards from the quarter which doesn't end until June. It seems like I usually get my rewards card sometime in late August or early September. The only thing I can't get straight is whether the Star Teacher card works for these deals. On the phone I have been told no but in the store I was told yes. The latest advice I was given was to check my reward status in 4 to 6 weeks. If the rewards don't show up, I will need to open a worklife rewards acct at that time and add the receipts to that account. I don't like that plan since I have to remember to do something extra in 4 to 6 weeks but it is either that or just return my purchases. If someone learns something different, please post it. Thanks

    • Whitney

Oh they don't send you a check back? you just get office depot card to spend?

      • Alison

no, you get a card that you can only use at their store.

    • Jodie

Be careful, I did this deal last week and had it shipped to my home using a discount code. They credited my rewards card for $0.62 instead of $74.90. I used a $15 off $75 order code. I have an email out questioning this right now, but what a pain.

    • Help me out here. I can go to my local Office Depot and pick up two of each of those items and pay $302.72 plus tax and Office Depot is going to send me a check for $302.72 in June? Now that seems great but it almost seems too good to be true. Does anyone know of a catch?

      • MomMe

I believe they send you a card (like a gift card) you can use at office depot for future purchases. which is not too bad if you normally buy things there… or think some $ off a new pc or printer and combine with the $15 coupons they are always mailing out. I think the rewards card does expire tho

    • 3kidsandamom

I don't know if anyone saw- but if you order $100 or more you get a free Burts Bee's gift too! I'm still on the fence though if I want to front the money and wait until September to get it…

    • alison v.

also, according to the website, you can save an extra $25-$75 on a new shredder, printer, camera or laptop when you trade in an old one!

    • I haven't received any reward gift card yet, but this is really great for replacing my ink cartridges (and you get 10% back in rewards with ink purchases). So, I spend the money now in small increments and then save on my ink that I use while printing coupons! I noticed it takes from 4-6 weeks for the additional rewards to show up in your totals. So, I can see that I received 1% on the 2 100% rewards items I purchase and the 10% for the ink I bought, but the additional 99% won't show up for awhile. Eventually this will be a nice perpetual deal for ink and school supplies.

    • Melanie McTaggart

Does this work for online ordering as well?

    • Jessica

I am new to the Office Depot rewards program. How often do they offer the 100% back items? I am in real estate and use a TON of office supplies. This just seems almost too good to be true.

    • 3bettins

the 100% rewards on this scale is new to Office Depot. I have talked to people online and in the store and the info varies from person to person. I asked specifically about the limits and was told that if it had a different number it was a different item- for instance, the blue tote has a different number than the red tote- and you could get 2 per member per day, but others said no. At first the ad said 2 items per day, then it changed to 2 of each item per day!
I have saved my receipts and only used items when I absolutely have to so that when they don't give me the credit it will go straight back to the store. I called about the amount listed on my rewards account- it only shows the normal rewards percentage- and was told because it was a special promo it might not show up for 4 to 6 weeks. So, while I'm a little leery, it's a big corporation that hopefully make it right when it goes wrong- remember the Sharpies debacle at Staples?

    • threeturkeez

I think saying these items are free is misleading. You have to pay for them and then you get a credit for that amount to use in the store, not CASH. You would use that IN THE STORE and get THOSE ITEMS FOR FREE using the credit. If it makes you feel better to call it free, go for it, but using math, it turns out you’re getting the stuff 50% off. Example: Buy $20 of stuff, get $20 in credit, using credit get $20 worth of stuff. In total you SPENT $20 and got $40 worth of stuff. That’s 50% off, not free.

      • seagull7

Yes, that's a great way of looking at this. Thanks for that clarification. BUT, if you are already going to spend money there to get other things you have to have (like ink), it's a winner.

      • Jessica

Couldn't you just spend the money on more 100% reward items?

    • HomeTownLife

While I was at Office Depot to get the Worklife Rewards deals, I noticed that my Office Depot has a great deal on Light Bulbs … Office Depot brand 14-watt CFL bulbs, 3-pack for $3.00 … which, while not free, and while not a coupon-item, is AWESOME.
