And it may not even be purchases; it could be for restaurants or other services we’re shopping for. It’s wise to do your research ahead of time, but be careful you don’t get duped by fake reviews. Check for ‘Verified Purchase’
Reviews without a verified badge are far more likely to be fake or paid for. Trust verified buyers first.
Watch the Timing
A sudden burst of reviews all at once — especially for an older product — is a red flag for a coordinated fake review campaign.
Beware Vague, Gushing Language
Real reviews mention specific details. Fake ones use generic phrases and over-the-top enthusiasm that doesn’t sound like a real customer.
Check the Reviewer’s History
Click their profile. If they’ve only ever reviewed one product, or rated everything 5 stars, be skeptical.
