I am confused on the Register Rewards. It prints out at the end of the receipt but it is a MFG coupon for whatever the amt is. Do I have to use the complete RR on only 1 item or will the register just deduct the amount off my total bill?

    • Jenny

You can just use it like money to take off from your total bill. It is a blank coupon that is not tied to product and only had an amount programmed into the bar code.

    • Jennifer

So if I have a $6 one but my total is only $4, do I need to go ahead and add something else for $2 or do I keep the unused portion?

    • Jenny

You have to have a total $6 or more to be able to use it. They won’t give you the cash and they won’t enter it for less than the value. No fun I know!

    • Jennifer

Ok, thanks this is helping. I have only made one Walgreens purchase so far and it was all free after RRs and Rebates but I’m trying to figure out how to do my next one.

Also, I think I read somewhere that the RR is like a coupon so I cannot use it on an item that I already have a coupon for right? Last question…I think. :)

    • Jenny

If you have 5 items and 5 coupons you would not be able to use it because that would give your 6 manufacturer coupons for 5 items. Just through in a cheap 6th item and you would be fine. I have heard many people say that if they give the RR first that they never have any problems. It’s worth a shot.

    • Sara

This is awesome! I was looking at the progresso deal… even better our Stop & Shop is having a 10 for $10 sale this week. I hadn’t seen these printables yet… thanks!

    • Julieann

      Great week for cleaning supplies!

    • Lindsey

Can you repeat the Walgreens SC Johnson deal in 2 transactions or trips? Is the limit of 4 per transaction? When you submit for the ESR, will it let you do 2 different receipts/one household? Also, I am new to the ESRs. Can you submit them throughout each month or is there a limit? Should I save them and do them all at once. Thanks!!!

    • Jenny

The Limit of 4, is the limit of rebates that they will give you. So you can only get a rebate of $4 max on SC Johnson products. You are allowed to enter as many receipts as you would like for the month, and on the SC Johnson products you only have to purchase one each time to get the $1 rebate per item. You are only allowed to have one rebate per mailing address so at the end of the month if you tried to get extra deals make sure that rebate goes to some other house :)

Just go and buy them as you like and come home and enter as many receipts as you like (enter them as you buy items so you don’t lose anything. It will let you continue entering receipts through the end of the month and then they will automatically send your check or gift card (I recommend gift card).

    • Melissa

What does “Limit 1 Coupon Printed Per Offer” mean exactly? Does it mean per purchase? I don’t see how the RR printer could know if I bought more as long as I bought them one at a time. Is that right? Thanks for any info.

    • Jenny

You can get more than one of an offer, however… you can’t buy a toothpaste get a RR, and use the RR that printed to buy the same toothpaste again. The second RR would not print. You can use it to buy a different RR deal, get that RR and then go back and get another toothpaste with a different deals RR to pay for it. Confusing so ask me if I lost you and need more info.

    • Jenny, if you used a coupon on a product and it made the product free (due to the product being on sale) can you still send off for a rebate from the mfg? The coupon shows on the receipt so they can tell the item was free.

    • Jenny

If that is all you bought so that your receipt showed nothing being paid you might have them not pay it, but most of the time if you bought other things they will reimburse for whatever the product amount you circled is.

    • Amber

My 2/1 SS has different Colgate coupons. I have .75 off any Colgate TP 4.0oz or larger. That would make 2 Colgate TPs for .50 (or .25 each). I don’t have the $1/2 TB coupon. The only TB coupon in this SS is save .40 on any one adult or kids manual TB.

And for the rebate comments… I always have WGs print a rebate receipt for me, which will only show the purchase price even if you got it free. You must tell them to print that BEFORE you start ringing things up. They cannot do it after they have started ringing stuff up (or so they say). :-)

    • Pete

FYI.. Walgreens rebate number 31 is for $1 off each product. There is a BOGO in the SS 02/08 for Oust Air or SS 1/04 for surface and Air. Coupon shows retail $3.49 so worst case would be 2 cans for $3.49 – (2)$1 rebates = .75c a can.

    • Bethany

Went today and bought the razor first, used 4q and got back 6 RR

      2nd Transaction:
      1 pledge pet roller
      2 scrubbing bubbles
      1 windex wipes
      2 colgate toothbrushes
used above mentioned coupons plus the register rewards and got the 2nd transaction for 2.08 oop AND another $1 RR :) Best I’ve done at Walgreens in a while!

    • leigh

thanks for all of your info. it is so helpful.

today at walgreens they would not let me use more than one RR per purchase. i had 6 RR so i had to break my basket down into 6 different transactions. is this right or should i be able to use more than one at a time.

    • Luna

Altoids mints is on sale b1g1 free $1.99 with walgreens coupon, to get it for free use 2 $1 off/1 peel off coupons from the tin can and add one cheap filler.

    • Gwen

When I went to enter the SC Johnson rebate there are only 2 places to check on the online form, but it says limit 4. Will it pick up the other 2 from the receipt or did I miss something?

      Thanks for your help.

    • Jenny

It will pick it up from your receipt. You can also check back in a couple of days and see it and make sure it is right. I have never had a problem with their rebate system though (Rite Aid yes, Walgreens no).

    • Jenny

I honestly have never had more than one to use at a time, but they should work like regular coupons and allow you to use them as long as you don’t have more coupons than items and your total is not negative (them owing you money). I will search around and see if I can find another answer.

    • Mimi

      Hi Jenny,
For the windex wipes 28pk, do you know the address to send the Rebate form to? Thanks for helping me out.

    • Ang

This is my first time trying the RR program. I want to buy the Gillete Fusion razor @$8.99 with -$4 coupon and then $6 RR. (I have 2 coupons so I need to do 2 transactions to get $12RR)

Then I have coupons for Tylenol so I want to do the buy2 get $4 RR. I probably have enough coupons for 4-6 bottles so 2-3sets of 2.

What order and how many transactions should I do? Thanks hopefully this will get me started at Walgreens

    • Jenny

Ang- As long as you don’t try to use the RR from the first razor purchase to buy another razor you should be fine.

      I would do this:
      2 tylenol
      1 razor
      Get both RR coupons

      1 razor
      smaller filler item
Use $4 RR from tylenol in #1
      -$4 coupon
      pay nothing, get RR

      2 tylenol
use RR from 1st or 2nd razor with coupons to reduce out of pocket

You can also through in some of the free after rebate monthly items to reduce the amount you paid for them (you will get the full amount back on the rebate so it helps you turn RR into cash)

    • Crista

Can someone tell me where it says there is a limit of 4 on the J&J. It only has 2 spots on the rebate form on-line and when I look at the page in the middle of the catalog, it only shows 2 $1 spots too. I’m hoping I didn’t buy too many.

    • Crista

Oh, I found it…I’m still confused about why there are only two slots though…oh well! LOL

    • Crista

Just as an update, I bought the wrong razor! It looks exactly the same (even the same colors on the packaging, it was also on sale for $8.99. The part where it said “Gamer” on the side was covered with and ad for something else, mine says “phantom” on that spot, but it was covered so I didn’t see it.

Just thought I would share so ya’ll can be careful of it. I’m going to take mine back and do it again (luckily I have another coupon, but I was going to use it for ANOTHER ONE!)

Oh well, I’m still on a learning curve! There is so much to keep up with!!!!

I did the same thing at Harris Teeter the other day. I was suppose to buy the Cottonelle Ultra 4 pk double roll (on sale, triple coupon, get for $1.50). I accidentally bought the “triple roll” which I didn’t even know existed! But it was NOT on sale…The packaging looked exactly the same except for where it said double or triple! So I have that to return too and missed the deal on the double rolls!

It does get easier, right?! LOL

    • Crista

Oh, can I buy just 2 cans of Progresso? I only have 2 coupons.

    • BJ

I went to Walgreens & bought the following:
      2 windex spray
      2 2 scrubbing bubbles
      1 Gillete Fusion razor @$8.99

Used 2- $1.50 windex coupons, 1- 3/2 scrubbing bubbles coupon and 1- $4.00 Gillete Fusion coupon. Also had two RR $5 & $3. Gave the coupons first and then the RR but would not work. Manger had to come. She did the RR’s first and then the coupons but I did not get the $6 RR for the razor. I left very confused. What did I do wrong that I did not get the $6 RR? And what should I have done to make it happen? And what do I do now?

    • Jenny

At walgreens with their in ad coupons you have to buy the number specified to get the sale price so gotta get 5. Sorry

    • Jenny

BJ – Call the catalina company at 1-888-8coupon and they will mail you a coupon to replace that one. You will need your receipt when you call.

I wish I could tell you exactly what you did. Walgreens’ system is very strange and the littlest thing will make it where the RR don’t print. It probably didn’t want to take your RR though because you were using more manufacturer coupons than items you purchased. Since RR are really manufacturer coupons. You can try to throw in 2 really cheap items next time so that you have an equal number of items for coupons.

    • susie

I am in North Central Florida and our Walgreens don’t have the same prices as yours. Do you know if Walgreens runs adds at a later time here? For instance our scrubbing bubbles/windex is not 2/$5 here.

Thanks for your help, and guidance, it truly makes a difference and I love this website.

    • Jenny

Susie- To my knowledge they run the same ad nationwide. Check the back pages of your local ad for the advertised deal on SC Johnson Products, if it is advertised in their and your store has it at a different price, they have to honor the ad. Also make sure you were looking just at the wipes products, the spray products are 2 for $7 or $3.50 ea.

    • Tiffany

I have used multiple rr in one transaction. I have found that each store does things differently. Some are more picky and others just don’t know what they are doing. Good luck.

    • Crista

BJ – Or you could have picked up the wrong razor like I did. When i called the catalina co. they told me I didn’t have a qualifying purchase. Turned out I had picked up the fusion “PANTOM” instead of the “Gamer”. They look almost exactly the same and they were both on sale. When I went back to return the one i got, I found that my Walgreens didn’t even HAVE the Gamer. So I couldn’t do that deal, but I did get $8.99 plus tax back (when I had only paid 6.99 with the coupon!)

    • Jennifer

I have a question about the ESR system. About a week ago I bought the Theraflu (2 for $10) and used coupons so my total came out to 2 for $6. Then I went online and entered the receipt info for the Rebate. Well I had not messed with it and today I went in to add more receipts for stuff I bought today (the Glade stuff and the Scrubbing Bubbles stuff) and it did not show my Theraflu reciept as being logged. So I tried to enter it again, thinking maybe I did not save it the first time and then it told me that I had already entered it. Why can I not see it anymore. I did not choose to submit it at that time because I was waiting to do all at the end of the month???

    • Jenny

I would call Walgreens and make sure it is not a problem with that rebate. Sometimes they have a missed a product that is eligible but you can call them and they will fix it. I’ve had this problem with Rite Aid a lot and it has always been easy to fix, hopefully it will be the same at Walgreens.

    • Elizabeth

Can you please advise about what this receipt submission stuff is to get the free gift card? I’m kind of lost on that and am trying to figure out where to look for that information. Thanks!

    • Elizabeth

Never mind, Jenny! I read your site on getting started at walgreens and I got it! Thanks! I never knew this about Walgreens!

    • Brooke

I’m fairly new to extreme couponing and this was a great week at Walgreen’s.

      Transaction #1
      Gillette Fusion Gamer Razor
      Sunday Paper
      -$4 off razor
      -$3 RR from last week
      Total OOP $4.12

      Transaction #2
      4 Progresso Soups
      2 Windex Wipes
      2 Scrubbing Bubbles Wipes
      1 Walgreen’s Contact Solution
      -$3.00 Scrubbing Bubbles Coupon
      -$1.5*2 Windex Coupons
      -$1.10*4 Progresso Coupons
      -$6.00 RR from Transaction #1
      Total OOP was $1.31

I paid for my OOP with a giftcard from last month’s rebates which was only $5.43 and I expect $5.99 + 10% back in rebates! The total on my second transaction before coupons was over $25 and after all the coupons I heard the guy behind me say WOW!

Thanks Jenny for making saving so easy!

    • Katie

Jenny — I too bought the razor and the RR didn’t print. What is the Catalina company and is that who I should call? Thanks!

    • Jenny

The Catalina company is the company that programs the little machines that spit out the coupons. You should call them directly at 1-888-8coupon and have your receipt ready.
