Friday Finals 7-03

I enjoyed my husbands day off today and went shopping by myself!  I haven’t done any shopping for three weeks now so I was a little afraid of what today might look like, but we did very good.  Not having three kids I was also able to hit more stores.  I had wonderful cashiers and a great time.

This is Publix and Bi-Lo together.
I forgot to get the Brawny 8 pack of towels, 2 lbs of Cheeries and 5lb bag of rice in the picture.

Bi-Lo:
Total before coupons and sales: $91.89
Total Spent: $32.58
Total Saved:  $59.81 or 64.5%
This trip included an $11 Boston Butt Roast, Watermelon and Cheeries.

Publix:
Total before coupons and sales: $151.47
Total Spent: $63.33
Total Saved: $88.14 or 58.2%
Funny story…  they were out of Pork Loin in the case, so I asked if they had any in the back.  He asked “Do you want a whole or a half?”  Having no idea really what the size difference was I went into stock up mode and said “Whole”…  the thing is huge!  Thankfully we have freezer space and love pork chops and roasts.  A third of my total was for this… $22 in pork (at $1.99 lb).

Kroger:
Total before coupons and sales: $35.36
Total Spent: $19.20
Total Saved: $16.16 or 45.7%

I got: 10 packages of cheese, 2 loaves of bread, bananas, sausage, tomato paste, and a rice mix my husband was craving (not on sale at all and no coupon - he is very loved).

Weekly Totals:
Total before coupons and sales: $278.72
Total Spent: $115.11
Total Saved: $163.61 or 58.7%

Yearly Totals:
Before coupons and sales: $3825.86
Spent: $1239.96 ($45.93 weekly average over 27 weeks)
Saved: $2585.90 or 67.5%

  • Saved $40+ at Publix but didn't need any meat and living more out of the pantry. Got a great deal at Target after winning an eBay auction for 20 $1 Ray-o-vac coupons and loading up on trial size freebies. You should have seen the look on the cashiers face!! Everything went through fine...thank you Jenny for a fabulous website.....

    Anne,

Most of the time that happens it is because the print limit has been reached for a certain coupon. They only have so many to print and then they take it down.

Thanks for all you do for this website and to help us all save more. I appreciate it so much - even though I would be a "Northern Savers" since I am in Ohio. My coupons don't always line up with yours, but our Kroger, CVS and Walgreens are pretty close.
  • Hi Jenny,
Happy 4th of July from FL! I clicked ont the link marked "printable" for Fast Fixins Chicken Nuggets, but when the coupon.com site came up there was not a coupon for Fast Fixins! This is not the first time I have clicked "printable" and did not find the item I was looking for at the site it went to(I scanned the 98 coupons several times to make sure I didn't miss it). Can you explain this to me?

    Adele,

Danimals are on sale for $2 ea at Publix and there is a $1 off coupon in the new "Smart Summer Savings" booklet

If your kiddos will eat Dan-in-o though... they are regularly $1 ea and there is a $1 off coupon in the same booklet!! Free yogurt!!

    Jenny,
Who has the Danimals yogurt on sale this week? Thanks! Adele

Hey girl. I have been doing this pork deal since it has been 1.99 lb.--I am planning to go back since I got my hands on some of the $4 Qs for charcoal! I ask the butcher to cut my loin into 3/4 in. chops--so when I get home all I have to do is freeze 4 in each pack. :)

I am fairly new to this, but having a great time and getting some really great deals at CVS& Kroger. Question: The groceries you got this week - will that last you one week or two? Also, approx. how far between the big 3 groceries do you have to drive?

    Thanks.
  • Jenny
    Kim,

Most of that will last 2 weeks. The pork... probably 2 months :) I will do a small trip next week though for milk and bread and fresh fruit.
  • Joy
that is a huge hunk of meat!

My week was slow, my biggest was the $25 gift card from CVS for having a RX filled.

Rite Aid had a couple good things. Buy Venus Razor refill get shave gel free, I of course had a C for the razors so it was a great deal:) oh and got some cokes from there.
  • Great week! That's a lot of meat.
